Jude

Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

  1. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

All we know is that he walked with you great faith. Scripture tells us God took him; this is the only words that we know he spoke, he warms of those coming in the church trying to draw people out. Walking with God is not easy but the more we do it the more we can hear it in his voice relay the message and know God’s voice.

  2. Verses 20-23 CEV “Dear friends, keep building on the foundation of your most holy faith, as the Holy Spirit helps you to pray. And keep in step with God’s love, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to show how kind he is by giving you eternal life. Be helpful to[g] all who may have doubts. Rescue any who need to be saved, as you would rescue someone from a fire. Then with fear in your own hearts, have mercy on everyone who needs it. But hate even the clothes of those who have been made dirty by their filthy deeds.” This is “A Call to remain Faithful” is what the NLT captions it as. We must continue on this rescue mission, while going to our altar first and letting the Lord guide our every step, every word, every decision and every action.

    • 17-19. But remember, dear friends, that the apostles of our Master, Jesus Christ, told us this would happen: “In the last days there will be people who don’t take these things seriously anymore. They’ll treat them like a joke, and make a religion of their own whims and lusts.” These are the ones who split churches, thinking only of themselves. There’s nothing to them, no sign of the Spirit!

20-21. But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! MSG

We can’t afford to allow ourselves to fall into the trap of not taking our walk with God seriously. It’s not something we can ease up on or allow to become slack. Instead, we must continuously build ourselves up by going to the altar, praying in the Holy Ghost, allowing God to cleanse and renew us and receive direction so that we don’t miss the play He has for our lives.
This is the best life – preparing for eternal life!

  3. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 1:20‭-‬23 KJV
How do I build up my faith🤔; oh yeah, by praying in the holy ghost. This is what kills me; people tend to think those that are educated are stupid when it comes to the ways of the world. I don’t consider myself a highly educated man, but I can distinguish when somebody is twisting words. This is where I struggle; keeping up my faith. I start off good then it starts to diminish. I don’t know why; but yet again I do. It’s that stinkin’ thinkin’. Man what is wrong with me. Wait nothing is wrong: i just need to subdue my flesh and curb my mind. Lord Jesus i need you to train me up in how to keep and strengthen my faith. I love you Lord and want to serve, but I can’t serve you fully until I can make this filthy rag die completely. I seriously need to learn to be compassionate to others, but it gets so overwhelming when you see so many young men out there not even trying to better their situation. I know that there is a root cause, but I don’t see that. All I see is somebody giving up. OH MY; 💡🤯 there it is. It’s not that I need to be ignoring them; it’s I need to pray for and with them. Lord help me to be compassionate toward those out there seeking to be established. I thank you Jesus for opening my eyes. Now fill my heart with compassion for those out there.

Pastor is always telling us, we shouldnt finish praying until we prayed in the Holy Ghost, sometimes I have a hard time praying so I just start praising and before I know it I’m praying in the Holy Ghoat, one time in leadership he said if we cant pray on the Holy Ghost there we aren’t praying in it at home! Yup, that was a shock in the eye, I wasn’t praying, not in English, or the Holy Ghost, so yes I felt awkward, but now who cares what I think, I have my alone time every day around 6:30am, have I missed a few? Yes, distracted doing other things, but my day isnt the same without it, it’s just not right. But when I have had my time in the Morning my day goes so much smoother, confident to speak to someone about God, Church, Pastor said that the other night when he said prayer sets a pattern for your day! ( Something like that).
when I cant find words to say, I pray in the Holy Ghost, it’s my Super Food!

  5. I only want to be a God pleaser, not a people pleaser, so I humble myself and have God have his way in my life . More of him , less of me

But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

  6. Jude 1:20-21 [ Amp] But you , beloved build yourselves up ( founded) on your most holy faith
( make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher] . Praying in Holy Spirit.[ 21 ] Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God , expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. ( the Messiah) which bring you] unto life eternal. Go to the first altar first, Build it on Wisdom and Knowledge. Ask God to guide your foot steps daily. If where or want he wants you to do. I pray today Lord put us back to our first love for you. Help us stay focus .

  7. But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.
    Jude 1:20‭-‬23 NLT

He says that when we encounter these people we’re not to look down our noses or write them off completely. He says don’t let them cause division among us. We must be strong in our faith because these people are lost and dying. He says don’t give up on them, but don’t let them pull you down either. He says we can snatch them from the flames of judgement! Our faith, our boldness, the Commander of Heaven’s Armies living inside of us can be the testimony and the extension we need to reach these people in the world without putting ourselves in danger. Prayerfully walking in the Spirit, being sensitive to our Commanding Officer. Hallelujah!

  8. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

“Yourselves.” Ultimately it’s up to us because we have the power of choice. We must practice temperance and self-discipline. How’s your altar?

  9. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Praying fervently in the Holy Ghost will keep and preserve us in the love of God and we can make a difference in the lives of others, guiding them to the saving grace of Jesus.

  10. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

    12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

When we don’t abide in the vine this is the what were seeing. trees with out fruit, dead roots and ready to fall at any moment, raging storms that remained unresolved, rain clouds without rain. Were looking at a walking bombshell that needs revival. See when we abide in the vine we don’t have this issue. We still have trials but trials are there to test our faith. Where are we putting our faith is it in Jesus or is it in the cares and worries of this world. If its in Jesus it will show because your faithfulness will either stay consistent or will increase, following the way of Cain on the other hand you’ll see yourself not praying so much not reading so much eventually dropping ministries you’ve been involved in for years.

This is why we must Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom! then we have the ALTAR ALTERING our lives which is the most important thing we have to stand on.

  11. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

YES!!! HE is able, but will we allow HIM!?! IT is easier to sin BUT IT IS MUCH BETTER TO BE SET APART!!! HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN KEEP US!!! OUR FLESH is constantly being tempted but if we have a real relationship with CHRIST, we know exactly where to run toooooo!!! If it is easy for us to fall into temptation and we don’t so something to change that, then growth will be very hard to achieve in our relationship with GOD….FREEDOM IS NOT FREE, THERE IS A PRICE TO BE PAID , YES CHRIST WAS THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE, BUT WE MUST SACRIFICE, TIME, MONEY AND EVEN SOMETIMES SOME RELATIONSHIPS……TO BE RIGHT BEFORE OUR GOD!!! A sacrifice isn’t without discomfort!!! If there was no discomfort then maybe it wasn’t a sacrifice ???

  12. Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

  13. iLove the Kingdom in Action

Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

The Word of God lists all this information as an example unto us that we are not exempt from judgement just because we are Christian. ‘Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. ‘ The Word is clear that we will not get away with doing things in the dark. The hidden things will come to light and the Lord will judge us according to our works.

  14. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

  15. 2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Fighting for the truth.

As I read this, I realized that in some parts of the world at this time, that the gosple was common. Yet, there were people who came in believed, and then made something out it different. To know the truth and deny the power of it. Wow. Not that we fight against one another, but fighting on our knees praying for the revelation to come back that Jesus is Lord and the saving power of him. I dont want to just be saved but I want to live in Kingdom of God, i want to be one with Him. Though we all go through tough times, I know where my help comes from. Fight the good fight of faith, stay strong in the Lord. First the Kingdom. How is your alter today?

  16. Jude Amplified
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you [c]fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all [d]handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers]. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed [just as if they were sneaking in by a side door]. They are ungodly persons whose condemnation was predicted long ago, for they distort the grace of our God into decadence and immoral freedom [viewing it as an opportunity to do whatever they want], and deny and disown our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

How true these verses are. Salvation was meant for everyone . A plan for each to be able to follow to live righteously. There are people who rise up and distort the promises of God . Those who will believe they can live any way they want yet be saved. We must continue to live according to what we know to be truth. A recent study group s woman laughed and made the accusation that no one can live without sin . That it was ok to give in to the works of the flesh . She used scripture and was strongly persuaded that I was wrong in teaching we could live walking in the Spirit. How sad that there will be those who really believe in a false security of their religious life. I know this is where we the church must go to the altar to first keep ourselves in submission to God’s Word and then to intercede on behalf of this lost world . I know somewhere there is going to be an awakening of true revival. I pray in Jesus name .

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Through Jesus Christ He has set the captive free …,,
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

  17. God is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy . Jude 1:24

v.25 To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forever! Amen

We have a Savior who is perfect. That’s why we find such a rest and joy and peace in Him, for He is all that we long for in beauty and significance. And not only can we hold on to Him, which we can’t do with the beauty on earth, but better yet, he holds onto us!

  18. Be helpful to all who may have doubts. Rescue any who need to be saved, as you would rescue someone from a fire. Then with fear in your own hearts, have mercy on everyone who needs it. But hate even the clothes of those who have been made dirty by their filthy deeds.
    Jude 1:22‭-‬23 CEV

I must bring people into His KINGDOM ! The coming of the Lord is near. I must put my needs down, and have J.O.Y. There is eternal life, it will be spent somewhere, my hope is to have the mind of His KINGDOM and saving S.O.U.L.S/A.L.M.A.S

  19. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

I love here how the penman began to let those that are serving God, that through the perseverance in our faith, the fervency of our prayer, and the watchfulness of our love for God remaining viligent to the falling away from those that push away the things that keep them from sin, will allow us the great hope of eternal hope in glory. I find that the more the scripture speaks about the sinful state of those in the Bible, it is shocking how much it relates to this generation of the world and all that is coming against the church today.

How many times did the children of Israel murmured and complained to Moses in the wilderness. It is like the world that wants their cake and eat it also. There are many in this world who have come to easily justify their means with sin and immorality and believe they still have a chance to live with God in eternity. There are many that when we stand in judgement, He will speak to many to depart from him thou worker of iniquity, for he knew them not. There are going to be many that come in His name but will only deceive many of the people. Our mission is to stay vigilant in recognizing the enemy before it infects us with doubt and fear. This is why the writer speaks to us to be forewarned.

One thing is for sure, we need not be offended if and when errors and persecution arise in the church. We need to stay in focus and seek first the kingdom of God and He will fight for those that truly love him.

It’s time to get busy about the kingdom of God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  20. Jude 1:3-4 (nlt)
    3) Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.
    4) I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

    Jude 1:3-4 (msg)
3-4) Dear friends, I’ve dropped everything to write you about this life of salvation that we have in common. I have to write insisting – begging! – that you fight with everything you have in you for this faith entrusted to us as a gift to guard and cherish. What has happened is that some people have infiltrated our ranks (our Scriptures warned us this would happen), who beneath their pious skin are shameless scoundrels. Their design is to replace the sheer grace of our God with sheer license – which means doing away with Jesus Christ, our one and only Master.

“Fight For and Defend the Faith”
Their are many ungodly people “worming their way in” and “infiltrating” the churches with false teachings that are contrary (opposite in nature, direction, or meaning) to the Word of God, and it’s causing people to be lead astray from the Truth. That is why we must FIGHT FOR and DEFEND (protect and guard) the FAITH!

1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,…”

    KEEP FIGHTING!!!!!!

  21. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Amen.

We keep close to him through the altar we build in our lives. Each time spent in his presence creates a bond of love that nothing in this world can replace. It is when we neglect our altars that the world can creep in and distract us or even draw us away from our first love. Thank you Pastor for your message First Altar.

  22. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Amen! To grow we must keep building ourselves, praying, reading, exercising our faith, etc. It’s like when we work out…in order to build muscle we have to excercise, eat right, sleep well, stretch, etc. It’s useless to go to the gym and sit down in the lobby. We’re never going to loose weight like that. Same in the spiritual, we will not grow unless we read His Word, stretch our faith, and pray. We could have all the Bibles and books we want but if we don’t read them, what good does it do to us. If we know we have to pray and don’t do it, it’s not going to help. We can’t survive spiritually by just eating once a week (Sunday). We have to eat His a Word DAILY!!!

  23. “These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”
    -Jude 1:16-19 KJV

Murmurers, complainers, and people that walk in their own lusts do NOT walk in the spirit! So don’t ask such leaders for guidance or advice. They’re not connected with God, they’re connected with their flesh and self will.

  24. 22-23 Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Don’t get caught up in the actions of those who are walking in flesh. Be tender with them, leading them to Jesus not condemning them.

  25. “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called”
    Jude 1:1‭ KJV

“Jude, a bondslave of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to those who by God the Father have been loved and are the permanent objects of His love, and who for Jesus Christ have been guarded and are in a position of being carefully guarded, to those who were divinely summoned [into salvation] individuals,” (vs 1 Wuest Expanded Translation).

Bondslave: one who is in a permanent relation of servitude to another, his will altogether consumed in the will of the other.

Sanctified: hallowed, set apart as holy. When the object is something that is filthy or common, sanctification cannot be accomplished without separation. It means to withdraw from fellowship with the world by first gaining fellowship with God.

Preserved: kept, watched over, guarded, preserved, having been reserved with the possibility of deliverance, maintained as opposed to left on its own. The HCSB footnotes state: “The expression ‘kept by Jesus Christ’ means that believers are kept safe or preserved by Jesus until their salvation is consummated at his return.”

Called: invited, welcomed, appointed. One who is called to an office. Those who have received the Divine call.

In the first verse of his book, Jude sets forth two views of those who are followers of Jesus Christ. First, he portrays man’s proper perspective: We are bondslaves.

A Hebrew servant was only allowed to serve for six years, then he was set free. However, the servant could make himself a bondslave by declaring “I love my master…I will not go out free” (Exodus 21:5); in which case, he willingly served under his master’s authority for the rest of his life.

Jude emphasized this relationship of servitude and indebtedness that he willingly chose and that he expected his readers to also choose. He deliberately used a word that denotes a lifetime commitment of service. Thus, as believers, we have been set apart by our own choosing to forever do only the will of the Master.

Next, Jude describes who we are from God’s perspective: We are the called (chosen and invited ones), the set apart ones (sanctified and separated from the pollutions of this world and made holy), those whom He carefully guards and divinely loves.

God doesn’t see us through His perspective because we first humbled ourselves as bondservants. Rather, “we love him, because he first loved us,” (1 John 4:19). We have seen the goodness of our Master, Who chose us when we were polluted, Who loved us when we were unlovely, Who sanctified us with His own blood, Who called us out of the darkness of our many sins and invited us into the marvelous light of His glorious Kingdom.

How can we but pledge to forever serve Him? How can we not humble ourselves before Him and keep ourselves holy for His service? What other attitude can we possibly take but one of eternal gratitude and willing indebtedness?

What contrast there is between this attitude and that of the later mentioned imposters, who “turn the grace of God into lasciviousness.” There is no sense of indebtedness in their evil speakings and despising of authority. There is no willing servitude in their unbridled lusts and much complaining. They are “filthy dreamers,” not set apart unto holiness. They are “brute beasts,” always further corrupting themselves, never serving their Creator in love. They separate themselves unto pleasure, not unto prayer and sanctification.

We must keep ourselves in the attitude of love, of humble submission, of grateful service, lest we be drawn into their flattering speeches and empty promises. We have a great God, who sanctifies and preserves, Who has called us to a higher plane of living. He is the “only wise God” and our Savior. Let us gladly indenture ourselves to Him forever. Let us wholeheartedly declare, “I love my master…I will not go out free.”

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Some will say that this happened before JESUS died on this cross, which is in fact true, this happened under the old covenant of altar sacrifice. However it is referenced here as an eternal reminder of the fact that these people were saved, but their carnal backslidden lifestyle led them to their destruction.

The reference of Jude here is under the New Covenant and if it were not so, this was the perfect spot for The WORD of GOD to say that there no danger of this ever happening again because of GRACE. However, it is a WARNING against such heresy and false doctrine of salvation.

For this reason we must stay on the ALTAR to receive and obey HIS commands.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Reminds me of the words of the apostle Paul to Timothy:

1Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

2Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    iSeekFirstTheKingdom
    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  27. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

“Keep yourselves in the love of God.”
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. But we can deny ourselves the benefits of His love by not walking in truth.

When we build ourselves up on our most holy faith we keep ourselves in His love.

“Building yourselves up on your most holy faith” means to keep growing and to keep building. It means that we cannot wait for spiritual growth to just happen, or expect others to make us grow. We are responsible for our own spiritual growth.

  28. 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Clearly we see that those that walk away from truth are living by their sensual senses and not their Holy Ghost. Sensual senses are all about “me”. What makes me feel good, what pleases me.

Living in the “spirit” by spending time at our daily altar will keep our senses clean and pure and allow us to follow the leading of the spirit and heighten our senses when we are following carnal desires and not Kingdom desires.

  29. Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christians are called out of the world, from the evil spirit and temper of it; called above the world, to higher and better things, to heaven, things unseen and eternal; called from sin to Christ, from vanity to seriousness, from uncleanness to holiness; and this according to the Divine purpose and grace. If sanctified and glorified, all the honour and glory must be ascribed to God, and to him alone. As it is God who begins the work of grace in the souls of men, so it is he who carries it on, and perfects it. Let us not trust in ourselves, nor in our stock of grace already received, but in him, and in him alone. The mercy of God is the spring and fountain of all the good we have or hope for; mercy, not only to the miserable, but to the guilty. Next to mercy is peace, which we have from the sense of having obtained mercy. From peace springs love; Christ’s love to us, our love to him, and our brotherly love to one another. The apostle prays, not that Christians may be content with a little; but that their souls and societies may be full of these things. None are shut out from gospel offers and invitations, but those who obstinately and wickedly shut themselves out. But the application is to all believers, and only to such. It is to the weak as well as to the strong. Those who have received the doctrine of this common salvation, must contend for it, earnestly, not furiously. Lying for the truth is bad; scolding for it is not better. Those who have received the truth must contend for it, as the apostles did; by suffering with patience and courage for it, not by making others suffer if they will not embrace every notion we call faith, or important. We ought to contend earnestly for the faith, in opposition to those who would corrupt or deprave it; who creep in unawares; who glide in like serpents. And those are the worst of the ungodly, who take encouragement to sin boldly, because the grace of God has abounded, and still abounds so wonderfully, and who are hardened by the extent and fulness of gospel grace, the design of which is to deliver men from sin, and bring them unto God.

  30. “But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,”
    ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Is so important to have a alter at home, we live in a world that sin is getting worse by the minute. Pastor has been encouraging us to build an alter. We need to be ready.

  31. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

When Jude pointed out that these certain men reject authority, it meant that they wanted to be in authority. Therefore they rejected the authority of God and they rejected those God put in authority.

Today, our culture encourages us to reject authority and to recognize self as the only real authority in our lives. We can do this with the Bible, by choosing to only believe certain passages. We can do it with our beliefs, by choosing at the “salad bar” of religion. Or we can do it with our lifestyle, by making our own rules and not recognizing the proper authorities God has established.

  32. 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Keep following the word and living righteous and love God and His word. Love people and help lead them to that relationship with God and help them understand His mercy.
There’s nothing too dirty , that He can’t make worthy, He washes you in mercy and can be clean.

  33. [Jde 1:11 KJV] 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
John Arcovio was given a revelation on this verse and wrote an excellent book entitled, The Mantle of God. I highly recommend it. In the book he shares that the way of Cain was pride and self-will. The way to keep yourself from the way of Cain is to be clothed with HUMILITY! The error of Balaam was greed and lust. The way to overcome this error is to put on the mantle of SERVICE. Finally, the rebellion of Korah was impatience with God’s will and timing. The way to overcome this rebellion is with God’s mantle of SACRIFICE and SUFFERING.

  34. By the same hand

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

I greatly apreaciate what a man can do with his hands. I have always been creative and built, loving to see the creation that I had worked so hard on. I have been a martial artist and done some pretty cool stuff with my hands. I have seen great men of God point their finger out at the sinful world and and tell it to submit and by the same hand lovingly pray for that same sinner. I have built walls and torn them down, all with the same hands. I have been knocked down and picked up with the same hands. I have whipped my kids and loved them up with the same hands. God has put this into us as we are made in his image we are creative and destructive with the same hands. The master creation of humanity needs both sides of Gods hands, we need him to pick us up and save us and we also need him to discipline us all by the same hands. I thank God for leaders that are not afraid to use the same hands that love, toinstruct and correct.

  35. 0 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

People that speak about other people that the don’t know or even those they do know but may not know their situation are corrupting themselves every time the speak ugly about those people.

11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

It’s a scary place to be, the way of Cain, the error of Balaam, the gains of Cora.

    12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

  36. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The perilous times are here. All we have to do is look at the news look at our world around and see that atrocities are happening. It is becuae ot the increase in evil that the love of many shall wax cold. We are to keep the fire going. That the fire of our altar never burns out. We need to build our most holy faith, get in the word, pray in the Holy Ghost and stay in the love of God.

  37. You will have to choose who you will serve. You can do according to the word of God and serve him or you can give against his word and serve the enemy. Serving God must become a lifestyle, not just another task to check off for the day. We must give ourselves fully to his work.

  38. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Who’s responsible for the work done strengthen your faith? You are. How? By letting the Spirit flow, and dominate and guide. There has to be a willing vessel, for God to move freely!

  39. Versus 5-7 are yet another great reminder that while we serve a merciful God, his mercy will only last for so long. Eventually, God will have to retract his merciful hand and allow punishment to take place. I pray we are sensitive to things we are continually doing that is unpleasing to him so we can make the corrections we need and avoid being put in a situation for God to retract his mercy from us.

  40. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

  41. 10 But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction.

What shame being compared to animals. Animals have to be trained to learn something. We too need to train our minds with the Word. The more training the easier it is to serve in his kingdom.

  42. 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

There are somethings in life that are not worth the fight. It’s a waste of time and energy to fight those battles. Yet our walk with God is worth fighting for. We should be ready and willing to contend for what God has given us and the places He has prepared for us.
