Job 9

Then Job answered and said,

I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.

18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.

19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

21 Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.

22 This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

23 If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.

24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

25 Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.

26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.

27 If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:

28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

29 If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?

30 If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;

31 Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.

32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

34 Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:

35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.

I was told to never ask God why, or anything of that nature because your nobody to question God! I think that there is a time to question! There are things that we just dont understand and you should always be able to go to your Father and ask a question! We can ask him questions that may pertain to His Word, and sometimes in the midst of anguish we might ask him why? But God knows what he is doing, and more often than not my question is answered over the Pulpit! Or Randomly someone will answer it! And trust me I know when hes answered a question because nobody else knows I have a question that I’m seeking an answer for. God is gracious and Loving and tolerant of my simple questions! He is amazing

  3. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles. “Yet when he comes near, I cannot see him. When he moves by, I do not see him go. If he snatches someone in death, who can stop him? Who dares to ask, ‘What are you doing?’ And God does not restrain his anger. Even the monsters of the sea are crushed beneath his feet. “So who am I, that I should try to answer God or even reason with him?

God is awesome in every way; here Job is right. How am I ever going to experience God if I’m not doing the things that are asked of me. I know that I can talk to God, but as Job said Who am I that I should answer God or try to reason with Him. God’s word is final: He is the beginning and the end. The Kingdom can’t be bartered for. I can’t just walk up to God and say here’s my crowning achievement and God just thumb me in like a VIP. This is something that must be earned; how then do I earn it. Oh wait, pick me pick me; by seeking Him first and being diligent in doing the work for the Kingdom. Thank you Jesus for the church and for those that You have put over me.

28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
29 If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?

Every time we face the trial it’s not because we did something wrong. But it doesn’t mean there is no purpose. If we question why we’re going to the storm sometimes we can find ourselves in the storm longer than originally planned. I think it’s best that we find what God is trying to show us what can be done and what we can learn about everything we face that can be turned around for God’s glory

  5. Job 9

14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

    Psalms 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 139:23-24 New International Version (NIV)

    23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

This is my desire Lord . Set a guard over my mouth that I may not be a hindrance to your Kingdom. Let me follow after You daily and apply wisdom into my heart. Remove any bitterness or unforgiving ways that I may not sin against You in Jesus Name .

    THE CREATIVE KING

2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

To meditate on the few words of Job here; I am fully persuaded that GOD is ABLE. The WISDOM, STRENGTH, POWER, AUTHORITY, MAJESTY of JESUS our Lord and Savior THE CREATIVE KING should elevate our FAITH in GOD and SECURE our FEAR of GOD.

Why would the creation challenge the creator? Who am I to question GOD? I am inspired by Job to TRUST in GOD even more considering all that HE controls and has created.

  7. Job 9;32-33 (NLT)
    32) God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial.
    33) If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together.

“If only there were a mediator”
2 Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

    JESUS is our Mediator!

  8. 8. He single-handedly stretched out the heavens overhead and walks on the back of the raging sea.

    9. He fashioned the stars into constellations we know by name- Bear, Orion, the Pleiades- and the lights of the southern sky.

    10. He does wonderful things, even confounding things, and performs an infinite number of miracles.

Even while upset with God, Job still confessed His power and might.
Once we realize that we have access to God’s power through faith in Him, He can and will do mighty things through us. These things that are impossible for us are so easy for God, we just need to give Him the opportunity to work.

  9. The mediator could make God stop beating me, and I would no longer live in terror of his punishment. Then I could speak to him without fear, but I cannot do that in my own strength.
    Job 9:34‭-‬35 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/job.9.34-35.NLT

Now we know that God was not punishing Job, but this stuck out to me. God seemed so far away for so many. And so He Made A Way. By robing Himself in flesh did He become His own mediator. We are able to approach the throne of God anytime of day because He allowed Himself to take the form of a man and sacrifice Himself and pour out His spirit. The veil was torn and the Gap was bridged! Our God is a holy, loving, righteous God! He is real. He is approachable. He is merciful. And He is good. Thank You, Jesus!!

  10. 14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

When things get tough in our walk with God, we find that there are so many questions that people ask of God when they don’t truly understand the “ Why”. I find that if we will just trust God and have faith that the word of God will keep us. We have to understand that his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. Seek first the kingdom of God and we will find strength to push through.

    I love the Kingdom!

  11. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

This verse is saying that God walks by some people and they never saw him, they never felt him, and they are doing the wrong thing instead of doing what they should be doing.

  12. ““Yet when he comes near, I cannot see him. When he moves by, I do not see him go.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭9:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Even though we cannot see Him when he comes by or goes away doesn’t mean He’s not there. He never left Job. Sometimes we think God is not there or is ignoring us or has overlooked us but in truth He is working things out for us..

“Even when I can’t see it you’re working,
Even when I can’t feel it you’re working,
You never stop, you never stop working,
You never stop, you never stop working..”

    Be blessed today!

  13. 12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

  14. 9:12 Behold, he takeh away, who can hinder him? Who will say unto him, what doesn’t though?

    He is in control!
He knows what he is doing, nothing is out of his hand, let us step aside and let us let him do his will in our lives.
    ———-
When I fear, in him will I trust.
    🙏

  15. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
When we go thru trials we wonder why God isnt with us, We often blame God because we think God isnt listening and we get bitter. When God is actually holding our hand and trying to guide us the right way. We need to stop thinking we can do this thing called life without God or having to be submitted . We need to stop being so prideful and stop and thank God for all the blessings he has givien us. We need to die daily and thank God for a new beginning a new day to serve him . Thank you Jesus.

  16. 13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

No matter the situation, we must bring our needs to God. Ask Him and he will answer, seek Him and you will find him. Today, is another great day to serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Seek ye First the Kingdom of God
    How is your alter

  17. iLove the Kingdom in Action
20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

Wow…Think about it y’all. When we try to justify things we do it is our very own mouths that condemn us.

    The word “justify” means:
A primitive root; to be (causatively make) right (in a moral or forensic sense): – cleanse, clear self, (be, do) just (-ice, -ify, -ify self), (be, turn to) righteous (-ness).

What is this saying? Well, to me it is saying we don’t always have to defend ourselves. Let the evidence clear you and not your own words. Why is this? Because as soon as we start trying to defend ourselves our mouth condemns us. Ouch.

  18. Job 9 :34-35 [Amp] That he might take his rod away from [ threatening] me, and that the fear of Him, might not terrify me. [35] [ Then] would I speak and not fear Him , But I am not so in myself
[ to make me afraid, were only a fair trial given me.
God was not punishing Job, Elihu’s Speech. Job had silenced the three friends. Elihu was angry at them, Because they were too dumb to answer Job. And he was angry at Job because Job seemed to him to be righteous in his own eyes, and justified himself rather than God. God is real, He is holy and righteous. He is King of Kings forever !

  19. MSG- “So what’s new? I know all this.
The question is, ‘How can mere mortals get right with God?’
If we wanted to bring our case before him,
what chance would we have? Not one in a thousand!
God’s wisdom is so deep, God’s power so immense,
who could take him on and come out in one piece?
He moves mountains before they know what’s happened,
flips them on their heads on a whim.
He gives the earth a good shaking up,
rocks it down to its very foundations.
    He tells the sun, ‘Don’t shine,’ and it doesn’t;
he pulls the blinds on the stars.
All by himself he stretches out the heavens
and strides on the waves of the sea.
He designed the Big Dipper and Orion,
    the Pleiades and Alpha Centauri.
    We’ll never comprehend all the great things he does;
    his miracle-surprises can’t be counted.
    Somehow, though he moves right in front of me, I don’t see him;
quietly but surely he’s active, and I miss it.

The wonders of our God is amazing. How can we argue with Him? This old song sums up what Job was saying:

I cannot make a world and hold it in my hands
I cannot make the lightening flash across the land
I cannot take a piece of clay and mold it into man
But I have a father, I have a father who can.

Now he sits high and looks low and guides my feet where ever I go.
    When I don’t understand I have a father, I have a father who can

I can’t make a cloud and ascend it in the ski
I can’t love humanity so much that I would dye
I can’t even name the stars or count the many grains of sand
I have a father, I have a heavenly father who can

Now he sits high and looks low and guides my feet where ever I go.
    When I don’t understand I have a father, I have a father who can

  20. For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
    Job 9:32‭-‬33 KJV
Thank God there was a man that could stand between us and hear us. It’s the god-man Jesus Christ. He is son of God and son of Man, fully man and fully God. The Bible says all the fullness of the godhead dwells in him bodily and we are complete in him. He is God with us Emmanuel, God was in Christ, God was manifest in the flesh, and in the beginning was the word the word was with God the Word was God and the Word was made flesh. The NLT version puts it like this:. If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together. The mediator could make God stop beating me, and I would no longer live in terror of his punishment.
    Job 9:33‭-‬34 NLT
The Bible also says there is one mediator between God and man the man Christ Jesus notice he says the man Christ Jesus. as a man he can fully take our place because he was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin. Glory to God for he is the Lamb which takes away the sins of the world. The Good Shepherd became a lamb when God became a man!

  21. Somehow, though he moves right in front of me, I don’t see him; quietly but surely he’s active, and I miss it….God doesn’t hold back on his anger…
    Job 9:11‭-‬13 MSG

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .
    Psalms 27:13‭-‬14 KJV

Job was so overwhelmed by his sorrows that his view of God became tainted. All he could see was an angry God whom he couldn’t please for trying. He became afraid and despondent because he failed to see the goodness of God.

The truth is that God is good all the time and He is always working good in our lives, but we often judge God prematurely by what we see today and not by the finished product of His actions. We must train ourselves to see the good things He is doing in our lives rather than taking His blessings for granted and only crediting Him with what seems bad to us in our limited vision.

We must believe by faith that God is for us, that He is working all things for our good, and that every day is filled with His miraculous touch even when we don’t perceive it. We must learn to give Him credit for every breath, every step, every sunrise, every provision. If we can learn to be grateful for the things we have taken for granted, then we won’t be so overwhelmed when sorrow hits. I read a saying somewhere that goes as follows:

He who is thankful for little things has much laughter.

Imagine how our view of God would change if we learned to be grateful. We would laugh with joy over the beauty of the ocean, the field of flowers, the colors of the sunset. We would overflow with peace over the smile of a child, the touch of another’s hand, the coolness of the wind on a hot day. There are so many things to be thankful for every day. We just have to train our eyes to see Him when He moves right in front of us.

  22. If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot.
    Job 9:33‭-‬35 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/job.9.33-35.NIV

    JESUS!!

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
    Hebrews 10:19‭-‬22 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/heb.10.19-22.NIV

He is our mediator. He made away to approach God and come with confidence and are able to be forgiven for our inequities.

  23. 35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.

My fear is only to respect God and who is! I fear Jesus for he holds all power in his hands. His word is true.

  24. If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together.
    Job 9:33 NLT

Thanks be to God. For we are blessed because of Jesus. He himself is our mediator and our way to the throne of grace.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
    1 Timothy 2:5‭-‬6 KJV

  25. 10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

My God is on the move and He’s doing great things!!

  26. 15 Even if I were right, I would have no defense. I could only plead for mercy.

Wow, whether you are right or wrong, you have no defense, you can only plead for mercy. God created you, and has final judgement over you. All we can do is ask for mercy. And thank God, he is merciful!

Psalms 123:2 We keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master,

  27. Job 9:8 Which alone spreadeth our the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth our the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Psalm 104:2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:

  28. “Although I am blameless, I have no concern for myself; I despise my own life.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭9:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s kind of hard to have value for yourself when you feel like you are nothing. At this point Job had lost value in himself and therefore deemed himself worthless, so much so he didn’t even like who he was. But thankfully we serve a God that gives us our value and reminds us daily what we are worth to him. So when you feel like, there’s nothing to live for and you are worth nothing, remember the price he paid for you because he saw the value in who you are.

  29. He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
