Job 31

I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour’s door;

10 Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

11 For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

12 For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

13 If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

14 What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

15 Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

16 If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

17 Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

18 (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother’s womb;)

19 If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;

20 If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

21 If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:

22 Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

23 For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

24 If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

25 If I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

26 If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

27 And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

28 This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

29 If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

30 Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

31 If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

32 The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

33 If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

34 Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

35 Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

36 Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

37 I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

38 If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

39 If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

40 Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

  1. Verses 13-15 MSG “Have I ever been unfair to my employees when they brought a complaint to me? What, then, will I do when God confronts me? When God examines my books, what can I say? Didn’t the same God who made me, make them? Aren’t we all made of the same stuff, equals before God?” This verses reminded me of song “Bleed The Same”:

    Are you left?
    Are you right?
    Pointing fingers, taking sides
    When are we gonna realize?
    We all bleed the same

    We’re more beautiful when we come together
    We all bleed the same
    So tell me why, tell me why
    We’re divided

    If we’re gonna fight
    Let’s fight for each other
    If we’re gonna shout
    Let love be the cry
    We all bleed the same
    So tell me why, tell me why
    We’re divided

  2. 1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
    2 For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

    there are certain standards that are sent for us in the Bible to protect us from falling into sin, as well as the church that also has standards that encompass around the standards the word says. What about our personal standards, what about the standards that are just between God and us? We need to set our own standards that the word and the church have not set. Standards are what protect us from things on the outside that tempt us and deceive us. Normally a standard is what is set and facts and does not go by emotions. When we set these standards around us oh, it guards us from our emotions whenever we get suede to give in to our temptations.

  3. 4Does he not see my ways
    and count my every step?
    5“If I have walked with falsehood
    or my foot has hurried after deceit—
    6let God weigh me in honest scales
    and he will know that I am blameless—
    7if my steps have turned from the path,
    if my heart has been led by my eyes,
    or if my hands have been defiled,
    8then may others eat what I have sown,
    and may my crops be uprooted. NIV

    I find that Job seems to have thought this process out for he asks the question – does not God see his ways and counts his steps. We find that Job explains that he has a relationship with Hod that has been true and he has served him in the right way. Full of humility and desire to be used of God. I see in this scripture that if Job was any thing other than a righteous man and presented himself as something other than an honorable vessel, he states let those eat what he has sown unto God. He finds himself in the midst of realizing God has not really forsaken him, but now he seems to be getting the attitude of knowing he has lived a righteous life but if God is displeased with him then he will accept the consequences of his actions. I am reminded that Job states in chapter 1-

    21And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

    I find that when he realizes that God is the creator and he is the creation, he knows no matter what God has always been the same.

    We as a church need to realize that God never changes, he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His word states he is the Lord and he changes not. We are the ones who change. Seeking first the kingdom of God will help us remain true even though we have tests and trials.

    I live the kingdom!

  4. 1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

    2 For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

    3 Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

    4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

    5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

    6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

    When we make a covenant with God, we are asking Him to weigh our life and for accountability. Accountability keeps ya on the straight path and keeps us level headed lest we should think more of ourselves then we ought.

    I would rather my life be weighed daily than get to that great judgement day and be found lost

  5. 13. If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

    14. What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

    15. Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

    God loves the servant just as much as He does the rich man; He creates everyone the same way, and He only died once for everyone’s sins the same.

    Acts 10:
    34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

  6. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    ACCOUNTABILITY

    6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

    Self examination prevents judgement. I am responsible for my soul and my eternal destination. As I seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD. I will constantly ask JESUS to weigh my life. Thoughts, attitudes and actions.

    GOD knows my integrity and I am most interested in how HE views my life.

  7. “I would count out to Him the number of my steps [with every detail of my life], Approaching His presence as if I were a prince.”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭31:37‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Accountability!
    One of the most important things in a walk with God is being accountable for everything. Can you give an answer for your decisions. Even better is accountability to your head/covering. It’s super important in ministry especially if you’re young because not every young person is full of wisdom and knows why they should and shouldn’t be doing in life. Accountability keeps us from being hindered in our walks with God, in our ministry and even in our everyday lives. It’s kingdom first in every decision when it comes to ministry. A change in job, purchasing a car, or even purchasing a house. Call your covering seek his council. Humble yourselves pray and stay obedient under your covering and if you’re not going to be obedient under his covering your in rebellion and that’s witchcraft and that’s a ticket straight to Hell.
    Accountability will take you far.
    Be blessed in Jesus name

  8. Job31: 14-15 [ Amp] What then shall I do when God rises up [ to judge] ? When He visits [ to inquire of me], What shall I answer Him? (15] Did not He Who made me in the womb make [ my servant] ? And did not One fashion us both in the womb?
    [ Ps. 44:21] Would not God discover this? For He knows the secrets of the heart. [ Prov 14:31] He who oppresses the poor reproaches, mocks, and insults his Maker, But He who is kind and merciful to the needy honors Him. God see’s every thing that we do and hears us. We are not the judge, God is the judge. Be kind to others, and pray for them.

  9. 4 Doesn’t he see everything I do and every step I take?

    6 Let God weigh me on the scales of justice, for he knows my integrity. (NLT)

    You might as well willingly submit and be honest in your accountability.

  10. If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit; Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

    I know that there have been times that I have looked at myself and asked what are you doing? This is not your path: this is not your road. God will weigh out my integrity. He will look at me and say ok this ones on you or ok I got you cause you sought Me first. It is where my heart is at the moment. How do I get to where God has my back all the time; easy through seeking Him in all of the things that I do. Thank you Jesus for being my voice of integrity.

  11. Isn’t it calamity for the wicked and misfortune for those who do evil? Doesn’t he see everything I do and every step I take?
    Job 31:3‭-‬4 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/job.31.3-4.NLT

    God know everything we do and haven’t done yet, he holds us accountable for it! I beleive we have to be accountable because if we are just doing our own thing, we are most likely doing it with out purpose, everyday we wake up , we have a purpose, weather or not we know what that purpose is, depends on if we ask God to show us or not! Someo5once said in a message they were preaching, that our calling is usually what we are doing now! So I took that as if whatever we are doing for the kingdom is what God has had planned for us, and when we have learned the thing that he needs us to learn, he will move us to the next assignment, because the thing we are learning now will be vital to our next. Everything God does has a purpose, he is a God over Order, I’m thankful for that, because without it my life would be EXTREMELY CHAOTIC. Thank you Jesus for Purpose and Order, and Unity!

  12. 4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

    Does it make you feel happy and comforted to know that God sees, hears and knows everything? That absolutely nothing is hidden from him? If we are living the best life we can live for Him and put His Kingdom first – then it should be good news. God works in, with, through and sometimes in spite of our decisions to accomplish His will for our lives. He controls both the circumstances, the environment, and the thoughts of our hearts. Everything that happens to us is part of his plan for our lives.

    Sometimes we pray for things and only when we receive them we realize it is not good for us. There are lessons to learn in every facet of our lives. Consider doubting Thomas. He had to see and touch the holes in the Master’s sides, hands and feet for him to believe. That is the only way some of us will believe. Some of us have to walk through it to fully understand. Noah warned the people about the flood but they laughed at him until they saw it for themselves. But it was too late.

    God knows what he was doing. His ways are mysterious to us. Our minds simply cannot fathom the ways in which He works. God works through the good that people do as well as the evil they do. However, the evil usually stretches the mind and challenges the heart. Yet both sides are true and both must be believed.

  13. Job 31:4-6 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps? If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit; Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

    MSG. Weigh me on a set of honest scales so God has proof of my integrity.

    2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth though shalt have wars.

    Proverbs 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.

    Counting steps on an Apple Watch or an App on any phone has become so popular.
    If only we could do that spiritually and keep our steps counted and make sure every step is counted towards the KINGDOM!

  14. 35 Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

    Job was having a tough time. He was going down the list checking himself for his accountability. Still waiting to hear from God. When we have checked ourselves and are still waiting to hear from God maybe we didn’t check everything or maybe the silence is the answer. You sometimes just have to wait. Again everything is in God’s time not ours and you cannot rush Him. The only thing you can do is rush and make a window for yourself when further up the road God has an open door waiting with other blessings waiting that you couldn’t even imagine but you missed the opportunity.

  15. 23 For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.
    24 If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;
    25 If I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;
    26 If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

    Do not put your trust in the things of this world. They will all pass away. Seek ye first the Kingdom, that’s the answer. God will bless. Our trust is in Him, our hope is in Him. When we put God first, we do not have to worry about anything else. God will provide, God will answer.

  16. I could only imagine Job’s loneliness at this moment. Not to be able to hear God’s voice, to have so many questions unanswered, and to search oneself and not be able to find a reason for His punishment. To be righteous but punished and not be able to know why? I couldn’t go a day without talking with God, but Job never stopped talking to God even when he couldn’t hear His voice. I think that’s the key, even in the wilderness of despair we MUST NEVER STOP TALKING TO GOD FOR HE WILL HEAR OUR CRY AND ANSWER BY AND BY!!!!

  17. Job 31
    Job s proclamation of integrity .
    Job gives a detailed picture of what the works of flesh are. Again he has searched his heart to see if there is anything that would have caused his calamity . Daily I must search my heart and come before the throne of God. As a child of God staying close to the Word and cleansing our minds in His presence. I must pray daily that the whole armor of God is about me. If we pray this and keep in mind we are surrounded and equipped with power of the Holy Ghost we can live a life of righteousness.
    This wold shouts the opposite but we as men and women of God can proclaim differently. Yes we can Stay. Excellent. in. an. X rated world!!!!!!!

    Galatians 5:19-21 King James Version (KJV)

    19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

    20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

    21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    Replacing daily with the fruit of the Spirit.

    Galatians 5:22-23
    22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

  18. iLove the Kingdom

    Job 31:1 “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman.?
    Job 31:4 Doesn’t he see everything I do and every step I take?
    Job 31:5 “Have I lied to anyone or deceived anyone?
    Job 31:6 Let God weigh me on the scales of justice, for he knows my integrity.
    Job 31:7 If I have strayed from his pathway, or if my heart has lusted for what my eyes have seen, or if I am guilty of any other sin,
    Job 31:8 then let someone else eat the crops I have planted. Let all that I have planted be uprooted.
    Job 31:9 “If my heart has been seduced by a woman, or if I have lusted for my neighbor’s wife,
    Job 31:10 then let my wife serve another man; let other men sleep with her.
    Job 31:11 For lust is a shameful sin, a crime that should be punished.
    Job 31:12 It is a fire that burns all the way to hell. It would wipe out everything I own.

    This chapter shows us that Job understood the dangers of lust and pled his cause to God Almighty and his friends. Job declares that he is innocent from lust that comes through the eyes. We must guard our eyes and continue to remain pure in this wicked generation where women are “trained” from a young age to steal the glance of men through provocative clothing. Remember the faithfulness of Job!

  19. 4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

    5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

    6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

    When our life is evaluated daily it helps ensure that we are living away from sin and in the Kingdom.

    It keeps us accountable to not only God and our pastor but to ourselves as well.

    Just as we encourage ourselves, there will be times we need to correct ourselves and bring our focus back to our purpose.

    The only way to do this is to daily ask God to evaluate us and reveal to us what we need to work on.

    “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  20. 36 Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

    With anything, there are steps that have to be taken to get to the next level. Job, reflected his actions, brought his actions to the King and owned his actions to be able to fix his actions.

    We have to be able to do the same in order to be all that Jesus has truly called us to be.

  21. Job 31:4-6
    4) Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
    5) If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
    6) Let me be weighted in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

    Knowing that God knows everything we think, what we are going to speak before we speak it, sees everything we do and where we are going, if we were to be weighted on a balance, how would we be weighted out?
    The question is, “How Is Your Altar Today?”

  22. 5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
    6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

    While we search our hearts for any transgressions, we ask to be judged fairly by God not man. David was given a choice of punishment from God in 2 Sam 24:12“Go and tell David that this is what the LORD says: ‘I am offering you three options. Choose one of them, and I will carry it out against you.’” 13So Gad went and said to David, “Shall you endure three years of famine in your land, or three months of fleeing the pursuit of your enemies, or three days of plague upon your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should reply to Him who sent me.”… 14”And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.” It is so much better to fall on the mercies of God through repentance rather than the judgement of man.

  23. 31:27,28
    And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
    This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.
    ——-
    Lord, forgive me for. The things I have done, and said that have offended your sovereignty.
    Show me in my way walk with you those thing s that I do t realize I shouldn’t be doing.
    Let me always recognized you in everything and give you glory in everyrhibg!!!
    In Jesus name.

  24. If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence; If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much; If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness; And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
    Job 31:24‭-‬27 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/job.31.24-27.KJV

    I don’t ever want to lose sight of my walk with God or His Hand over my life. I have nothing without Him. I AM nothing without Him. Everything I have is BECAUSE of Him. Thank You, God for Your Favor over my life. I am so in love with YOU!!!

  25. Job made a list of the ways that he had faithfully served God.
    1. Things he had avoided:
    * Sexual lusts (formication)
    * Dishonesty, deceit, and duplicitousness of any kind
    * Lust of other things (covetousness, greed)
    * Adultery
    * Selfishness of personal gain (hoarding), and a selfish disregard for others
    * Abuse of any kind toward the less fortunate
    * Idolatry of money and vanity of wealth
    * Idolatry of the false gods of the heavens
    * Spitefulness (rejoicing at other’s misfortunes, cursing them, or seeking revenge)
    * Spiritual or political hypocrisy
    * Dishonest gain, thievery, or fraud
    * Murder

    2. Things he had committed to:
    * Purity
    * Staying on the pathway of righteousness
    * Just and merciful treatment of others (servants, the poor, enemies, strangers, landowners, etc.)

    Though the Ten Commandments had not yet been given, Job seemed to know what would eventually be written:
    Thou shalt not have any other gods before me
    Thou shalt not kill
    Thou shalt not commit adultery
    Thou shalt not steal
    Thou shalt not covet…

    Moreover, Job seemed committed to faithfully serving God and to loving his neighbor as himself (or to treating others as he would want to be treated). However, what you don’t see in all of Job’s claims is an intimate knowledge of and love for God (thou shalt love the LORD the God with all thine heart…). Job has a definite fear of God and of His righteous judgments, but he doesn’t seem to have a personal, love relationship with Him.

    This reminds me of the story of the rich, young ruler:
    “…there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

    And Jesus said unto him, …Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. ”

    And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.”

    Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest…take up the cross (the cross of love), and follow Me.”
    Mark 10:17‭-‬21 KJV

    Like this ruler, Job is saying to God and to his accusers, “‘All these have I observed from my youth,’ now I deserve just treatment from God and a blessed reward.” However, God is saying in return, “‘One thing thou lackest…,’ love Me.”

    I think God wants Job to learn that His blessings are not just rewards for good behavior or services rendered; rather, they are gifts lavished upon those who, though undeserving, share an intimate, love relationship with Him.

    Job, the young ruler, and many of us today try to control God and our fate with our righteous service. We put the cart before the horse: if we do this…, then God must do that…

    Nevertheless, God is looking for those who will get the order right, whose love for Him compels them into righteous service. Those who say, “Since God loves me so much that He has offered me life through His own sacrifice; in return, I will show my love to Him by serving Him and others with all my heart.”

    “We love him, because he first loved us.”
    1 John 4:19 KJV

    “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
    1 John 4:11 KJV

  26. 3 Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

    4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

    5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

    6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

    7 If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

    8 Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

  27. I love To Worship The Lord

    Vs 16

  28. If I have kept the poor from their desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail: As a further testimony to his righteousness, Job insisted that he had been good and kind to the poor and to the helpless (such as the widow and the fatherless).
    In the same manner as before, Job called for a curse upon himself it if was true that he had not cared for the poor and helpless as he claimed he had. He knew that if he had been cruel and oppressive to the poor and needy, that he would indeed deserve punishment, and this was part of his motivation to care the way that he did.

    Most of the good deeds that Job presents as evidence of his righteousness are simple, ordinary things… More than any one of these acts alone, it is the accumulation of them that is impressive.

  29. Sometimes we get mad at what other people do to us, and how they treat us. Then we go back and do the same to others. We have to treat everyone fairly so all of us can be united in his word. GO SHARE THE WORD POFW!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🙃😷🙃🙃

  30. 24 If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;
    Job has the right attitude toward money. Even though he was very well off financially, that wasn’t his hope or his confidence. He had money but money did not have him! He put his trust and confidence in the Lord!

  31. 35Oh, that I had one to hear me!
    Here is my signature—
    let the Almighty answer me;
    let my accuser compose His indictment.

    Job has a great amount of fear for God and his judgment, but he wants to be heard so bad. He wants to give account for his steps and actions to trace back to what he could have possibly done wrong. He wants an answer from God, but his way of going about it shows his frustration. Job expresses that he would rather me disciplined by pain or hands of man than to be brought to destruction by God. I feel that Job is going crazy trying to piece together where he may have gone wrong, almost like searching the entire house to find his misplaced car keys. He’s feverishly searching for answers his mind cannot comprehend. He wants to be tried as if in a court room, to examine his actions.

  32. God sees all and knows all. You can’t hide what you’ve done from God. He is a forgiving God. He is the one who gives us strength in our time of weakness.

  33. For what is the portion I would have from God above, And what heritage from the Almighty on high? Does not tragedy fall [justly] on the unjust And disaster to those who work wickedness? Does not God see my ways And count all my steps?
    JOB 31:2‭-‬4 AMP

    The Kingdom, his kingdom is the goal. Its the inheritance.
    He sees all, and while we all have the best intentions, he also sees our heart and our efforts to maintain kingdom goals.

  34. “If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold, ‘ You are my confidence’; If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, And because my hand had gained much; If I have observed the sun when it shines, Or the moon moving in brightness, So that my heart has been secretly enticed, And my mouth has kissed my hand; This also would be an iniquity deserving of judgment, For I would have denied God who is above.
    Job 31:24‭-‬28 NKJV

    There is no one and nothing greater than our God. He reigns over all and is sovereign. He is King of kings. He therefore is our only hope. We cannot put our trust on the material things of this world. They will all perish. Our complete trust should be on Jesus. He never changes and he is constant. He will guide us in every way.

  35. 39 If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

    40 Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

    In letting the thistles and cockle instead of the wheat and barley he is saying he’s ready to move on. Not worrying about growing a certain season and moving on to another season is comforting. It then says his words are ended. Sometimes we need to realize when to move on from a certain season and be done. Let our words be done. Let us forget about the things around us and move on to bigger and better things.

  36. “I was afraid God would destroy me. His glory terrifies me. So I’d never do things like that.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭31:23‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

    The fear of the Lord helps us to keep Him first. And it deepens over relationship with Him. And it helps to fulfill the great commission.
    “Therefore, since we know the fear of the Lord [and understand the importance of obedience and worship], we persuade people [to be reconciled to Him]. But we are plainly known to God [He knows everything about us]; and I hope that we are plainly known also in your consciences [your God-given discernment].”
    ‭‭2 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭5:11‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  37. If I have made gold my hope

    So many of us worshiping the sight of money and allow greed to and the lust of money to become our God. Then worship the one who made the heavens and earth who owns all the cattle.

  38. 6 Let God weigh me on the scales of justice, for he knows my integrity.

    What a scary thought, letting God weigh all your good vs bad things. Who would want to have their sins weighed on a scale. The sins could easily outweigh your righteousness. But thank you Jesus, who died for our sins, and God is merciful.

  39. “Have I gloated about my wealth and all that I own?”(Job‬ ‭31:25‬ ‭NLT)

    Dwelling on our own valuable possessions, shows that we are too busy thinking about the things of the world and not focused on the Kingdom.
