Job 37

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

  1. 3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

It’s sometimes hard for us to comprehend god’s plan and he’s will but it’s always for our good because he is the master of it all no matter how rough life may gets, thank god for the wisdom of his word.

  2. “We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. No wonder people everywhere fear him. All who are wise show him reverence. ””
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭37:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We should show God the respect He deserves. He loves us and spares us when we don’t deserve it. Are you wise or foolish? Do you give Him the respect and fear He deserves or do you not care. Sometimes we need to figure these things out.

  3. Job 37
14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Be still and know God………His marvelous works.

Some of the hardest trials of life that have brought me laying flat on my face have allowed me to see things I’ve never seen before. Trials sometimes bring us to a cross road on our life . A bend in the road , If we stop or turn back we may never see what is just around the been. I’ve walked mountains and come to the bend where I could not see ahead. If I had stopped and not continued walking I would have never seen the beauty of the stream the beauty of the flowers,
Many times in our trials we stop and think this must be the end, I’ve been there. All we can see is the trial and nothing looks good. Our mind begins to wonder if God is still there . Our eyes are so blurred by the tears we shed we miss what God has for us. Oh we may continue walking the path and even take the bend and miss the glorious works of God’s mighty hand…..if I can learn through the trials to stop and ponder His miraculous ways and see what He is actually doing the trial becomes a treasure of learning . A treasure you could not see. Many times we wallow in self pity woe is me when God is saying “Just Watch and See!” Lord I know I too have allowed trials and the abundance of tears to keep me from seeing your marvelous works.Let me begin to look more st You snd know that many times the trial is not about me but in reality ir is all about You and the wonders that You are performing in the midst of the trial. Let me keep my eyes open so that o do not miss what You are doing. In Jesus name

“Then sings my soul my Savior God to thee
    “How Great thou art “

    Psalms 105
    Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
    2 Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!
    3 Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
    4 Seek the Lord and his strength;
    seek his presence continually!
5 Remember the wondrous works that he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

  4. So also, golden splendor comes from the mountain of God. He is clothed in dazzling splendor. We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. No wonder people everywhere fear him. All who are wise show him reverence. ”

God knows what He is doing when it comes to the needs of each and everyone of us. Should I fear God, oh yes. He is the only one to have the power that can give me eternal life or send me to death. What am I doing to gain eternal life. I strive to be the man I’ve been called to be. Is it a struggle, yes. I know there are areas that I lack, but it is how I act in those areas of insufficiency that can change everything. It doesn’t matter how strong I get in the Lord: there is always room for improvement and growth. I know that I can read the same chapter everyday and gain something different from it. Jesus open my mind and heart to your word. Open my ears to hear and let your light shine through me this day. Thank you Jesus for giving me ears to hear and a heart to seek you daily.

This Guy is relentless, he is worse than all the people there!
We have to be careful when we speak to God, I heard a song once this guy was rapping a prayer to Jesus, and it was beautiful until he got to a certain part and he started using curse words to describe his life in the streets, I couldnt listen to it ever again, nor finish it! I’ll tell you how I talk to God, I basically talk to him the way I would talk to my Momma, I was cautious no matter how mad I was at whatever when talking to her, so I’m even more Careful with God. I cant come to him weakness, no matter what, If I’m mad or more than that, I tell him, but I am respectful, if I’m hurt, I never get fully through praise before I’m a blubbering cry baby! God created us, he already knows what we need, and what we are gonna say, nothing shocks God! But that still doesn’t warrant cussing or being disrespectful!
Lord help never to forget my place here in the Kings House!

  6. This chapter in the AMP is captioned “Elihu Says God has Authority over the Storm”. This is soooo true and if we could only wrap our feeble little minds around this awesome inspiring truth, we would not fear the storm; but, be in awe of the wondrous works that the Almighty is doing through it. In Sunday School today, we are learning how the scripture is our guide for life, but God’s Spirit gives us the strength to make right choices. Just because we know what to do does not mean we will muster the courage to do it. That is where God’s Spirit comes in. Only the Holy Ghost inside us will reveal full truth, guide us to wise choices, and keep us on the right path.

  7. 22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

This is almost narcissistic behavior, Job’s friends using the power and the truth of God for their own self-righteousness. It’s a very common trait that people of that nature use by twisting their agenda with the part of the truth. Especially this friend, he was exulting the power and the word of God to condemned his fellow brother that was in pain. This is why God tells us about humility and meekness to understand his power and use it for his glory and nothing else. That is also why Paul told us to do everything in love, bc God cannot receive Glory before using truth to bring someone down.

  8. So also, golden splendor comes from the mountain of God. He is clothed in dazzling splendor. No wonder people everywhere fear him. All who are wise show him reverence. ”

He is THE Mighty God. He is Glorious and Wonderful. He is Holy and Excellent. Praise His Holy Name!

  9. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    WHEN GOD SPEAKS

2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he wil not stay them when his voice is heard.
5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

The King of Glory has every resource of creation available to HIM. Weather, animals, atmosphere and man. But GOD selects HIS own VOICE to rock the earth.

Oh that man would regard HIS voice as such. There are too many people that dangerously play with (contest with) the VOICE of GOD.

The VOICE of GOD is present and relevant to us today through many sources. GOD Himself
    The WORD of GOD (Bible)
The SPIRIT of GOD (Holy Ghost/Gifts of the Spirit)
    The man of GOD (Preacher)

The THUNDERING WORD of GOD is often discounted or minimized in the mind of man because of unbelief. However, mans consideration of the VOICE of GOD has no affect on the POWER of the VOICE of GOD. However GOD desires to SPEAK to us we must approach HIS WORD (Voice) with awe, reverence, respect and fear.

24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

Anyone who rejects or disounts the VOICE of GOD will not gain the respect of GOD.

  10. 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Sometimes we just need to stand still a moment and give our minds time to absorb what is happening; consider the wondrous works God is doing. After the wind, earthquake and fire, allow His still, small voice to be heard

    Exodus 14:
13 “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day…”

    2 Chronicles 20:
17 “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed…”

  11. 24No wonder people everywhere fear him.
All who are wise show him reverence.c”

God is the almighty and he is everlasting. We as his creation should reverence the almighty. The scripture so states In Deuteronomy 5:29-
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

For the fear is not fear that will cause us to be timid and cause of to become an introvert from God, but it is a fear that will cause us to respect and revere the power of God and all that he does. The more that we fear the more we want to be humble before the throne. We seek him more to know his goodness.

Seeking first the kingdom of God will bring that reverence that people need in their spirit to have a closer relationship with Him. Scripture tells us that we need to seek him while he is near and while he is able to be found. He sticks close to those that will fear him and bless them that are wise in his word and understands his ways. We must understand that his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. We must meet with him on a daily basis in prayer.

    I love the Kingdom!

  12. Listen carefully to the thunder of God’s voice as it rolls from his mouth. It rolls across the heavens, and his lightning flashes in every direction. Then comes the roaring of the thunder— the tremendous voice of his majesty. He does not restrain it when he speaks. God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power. The clouds churn about at his direction. They do whatever he commands throughout the earth. He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love. “Pay attention to this, Job. Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God! Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds? “So teach the rest of us what to say to God. We are too ignorant to make our own arguments. We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. No wonder people everywhere fear him. All who are wise show him reverence. ”
    Job 37:2‭-‬5‭, ‬12‭-‬15‭, ‬19‭, ‬23‭-‬24 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/job.37.2-24.NLT

We got to be sensitive to our creator , as i hear him speak through the holy spirit and his word . Surrender and obedience … That’s how we’ll walk in truth
He deserves all glory and honor

  13. Msg – 19. If you’re so smart, give us a lesson in how to address God.
We’re in the dark and can’t figure it out.
Do you think I’m dumb enough to challenge God?
Wouldn’t that just be asking for trouble?
No one in his right mind stares straight at the sun
on a clear and cloudless day.
As gold comes from the northern mountains,
so a terrible beauty streams from God.
23-24 “Mighty God! Far beyond our reach!
    Unsurpassable in power and justice!
It’s unthinkable that he’d treat anyone unfairly.
So bow to him in deep reverence, one and all!
If you’re wise, you’ll most certainly worship him.”

Too many people are casual with God as if he’s their buddy and they can talk or treat Him in any manner.

I don’t ever want to lose the wonder of who God is and what He has done. When we lose our reverence for Him we treat Him casually condoning our last of relationship as if we could breath on our own

He is my everything and without Him I am nothing and could do nothing.

  14. Job 37 : 5-6 [ Amp] God thunders marvelously with the voice ; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. [6] For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth; likewise He speaks to the showers and to the down pour of His mighty rains. God deals up ( stops, brings to a standstill by severe weather) the hand of every man [ and now under His deal their hands to forced to inactivity], that all men whom He has made may know His doings ( His sovereign power and their subjection to it. Kingdom First, Show respect to to God and others and hear the the voice of God . I love you Jesus.

  15. Hear attentively the thunder of His voice…

Elihu felt that Job needed a good dose of the greatness of God. It was good advice wrongly applied to Job’s situation. Elihu did rightly understand that the mighty sound of thunder seems to man to be the voice of God.

Nor is there a sound in nature more descriptive of, or more becoming, the majesty of God, than that of thunder. We hear the breeze in its rustling, the rain in its pattering, the hail in its rattling, the wind in its hollow howlings, the cataract in its dash, the bull in his bellowing, the lion in his roar; but we hear God, the Almighty, the Omnipresent, in the continuous peal of thunder! This sound, and this sound only, becomes the majesty of Jehovah.

  16. 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

When we are going through a trial sometimes it is best to stop and remind ourselves HOW GREAT AND GOOD IS OUR GOD!!!! It will strengthen our faith and remind us of so many other times that He has come to our rescue!!!

  17. 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

When we are going through a trial sometimes it is best to stop and remind ourselves HOW GREAT AND GOOD IS OUR GOD!!!! It will strengthen our faith and remind us of so many other times that He has come to our rescue!!!

  18. 23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

    Touching God.

Although we cannot see God, you can feel Him. The old adage , seeing is believing, is not true, because the eyes can be deceived. More than likely when you feel something hot, then it’s hot. And when you feel something cold then it’s cold. We have had a great opportunity in the past few months to really feel the presence of God move in our services. And when we tell others about those experiences, then want it too. And when you feel something, more than likely you are in someway touching it or it’s touching you.

    Seek ye first the Kingdom

  19. iLove the Kingdom
Job 37:12 The clouds churn about at his direction. They do whatever he commands throughout the earth.
Job 37:13 He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love.

According to this scripture, it would appear that God uses horrible storms to punish folks or to show his mercy by sending in the rain. It is undeniable that God used the great flood of Noah’s day, but what about the weather of today. Is every major storm a sign of God’s punishment? No. The fact of the matter is it didn’t even rain before Noah built the ark. Sin brought a whole new weather pattern that wasn’t originally there. The rainbow signifies the earth won’t be completely destroyed by water again, but the storms are a reminder of judgement. The weather patterns have been set into motion and now they cycle throughout the entire earth until the Lord Jesus returns to earth and brings peace once again.

    Conclusion:
Major storms are simply the residue of the judgement from the days of Noah. They will continue until the Prince of Peace says “Peace be Still”.

  20. 37:12 And it is turned round about by His counsels: that they may do whatsoever commanded them upon the face of the world in the earth.

It can be explained any simpler…
God is the creator of all and He rules over all, he is the one who says yes or no. And everything is submitted to him. In heaven earth and under earth.

  21. …Can people even speak when they are confused?
    Job 37:20b NLT

YES! When we are confused, we can always go to God. He is the only one who can bring true clarity to our lives.

We don’t have to have it all together to speak to God. Our prayers don’t have to be perfect. Our lives don’t have to be perfect. Our attitudes don’t even have to be perfect. All we need is the faith to believe that God has the answers and that He will help us to get it right if we ask.

Though God is not the author of confusion, He is the answer to it. He is our counselor and guide when life doesn’t make sense. He is the giver of all wisdom, and He gives grace to those who are humble enough to ask.

God, I don’t know how to pray about this. I don’t know what to say. My heart is heavy, my flesh resistant, and my mind confused. I’m not even sure if I’m ready to pray what needs to be prayed, but I trust You. I’m ready for You to make me ready. I’m willing for You to make me willing. Pray through me, Lord, Your will into existence in my life today, in Jesus’ name, amen.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
    James 1:5 KJV

  22. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

  23. God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power.
    Job 37:5 NLT
True statement: We can’t even imagine the greatness of His power! We know He created everything with His Word which is why the wind, the sea, the fig tree obeyed the voice of its creator! Yet creation is just a fraction of His power! We will never fully understand His greatness but fortunately we can experience the greatness of His love when we receive His Spirit!

  24. Job 37:14 (TLB Paraphrased)
“Listen, O Job, stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God.”

Today is a good day to just Stop and Consider (think about) the Wonderful MIRACLES God has done over the past 100+ weeks at POFW. People have Repented, they have been Baptized in Jesus Name, they have received the Holy Ghost, they have been Healed, etc… Wonderful MIRACLES are taking place.

    Thank You JESUS!!

  25. The voice of God is powerful. When he speaks everything comes to attention. I’m thankful for the power my father’s voice carries. The wind, sea and everything else obeys. There is no one greater than our God.

  26. 2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

I believe the best way to hear Gods voice is by staying in tune with him.
    Prayer
    Reading his word.
We have to keep the fire on the altar going so we can hear his voice clear and loud. I’m ready to see what Gods about to do he’s already doing so much. Stay in tune and don’t fall off or fall in to temptation these next 40 days a lot . Snakes come out in the fire. Be attentive to the voice of God!

  27. “Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭37:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I this this can be said to any of us. God is so amazing! We we have good days, or when we have bad God is still amazing. When we consider all he has done for us and all he continues to do it is definitely more that we can comprehend.

  28. Just when you think you got it all figured out…

24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

The saying is that if you want to make God laugh just tell him your plans. This is true if our lives. So many times we got everything figured out and God drops something in us that changes everything. Our wisdom doesn’t even compare to Gods wisdom so we should be surprised I guess. It’s awesome though to look back and say “ if it hadn’t been for God, where would we be? “

  29. 4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

Our thoughts are not His. His thoughts are way higher than ours. He sees the big picture and knows the end from the beginning. Many times its really hard for us to understand a situation or why some things happened yet we just have to trust Him
He knows what he is doing. And all He does it is great.

  30. 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Sometimes we all have to slow down and listen, that we might hear that still small voice..

  31. ““Pay attention to this, Job. Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God! Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds? Do you understand how he moves the clouds with wonderful perfection and skill? When you are sweltering in your clothes and the south wind dies down and everything is still, he makes the skies reflect the heat like a bronze mirror. Can you do that?”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭37:14-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is the God of my storm!
He’s in control, everything is working for my good! I will be victorious!

  32. 5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

I stand today in awe of You oh God. Speak through the thundering. When we fear the storm, teach us to listen Lord and hear Your voice. You are always with us doing great things, marvelous things, that are often beyond our understanding. But great are Your ways and I will trust in You Lord!

  33. 7 Then everyone stops working so they can watch his power.

If only everyone would stop and look at the world. Look at all the stars, the waters, the mountains, etc. And think, how did all this form. It can only lead you to the power of God, our creator.

  34. “Indeed, at His thundering my heart trembles And leaps out of its place. Listen carefully to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out of His mouth! He lets it loose under the whole heaven, And His lightning to the ends of the earth. After it, His voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, And He does not restrain His lightning [against His adversaries] when His voice is heard.
    JOB 37:1‭-‬4 AMP

Before a storm hits there are rumbles in the atmosphere. The earth is still and gives off a sweet fragrance and certain peace settles over. Then there are intermittent small crashes of thunder among the rumbles. Then just before the heavens let loose there is a loud boom a clap that shakes the whole earth. Then the rain falls and its almost a sweet hush as the rain hits the ground.
All i could think of is the sweet sound of prayer when we are all in the sanctuary praying or even in the prayer room. Sometimes i like to sit there and just listen. The soft rumble of prayers and the intermittent speaking of tongues, as passion grows in our seech. Our beautiful sound crashes against the walls. Then as we are hiting our peak just before the spirit really starts to pour out there is loud boom of utterence and the whole congragation produces a steady sound.

  35. Job 37:23-24

    23) Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgement, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

    24) Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

    God gives wisdom.
