Acts Chapter 18 – 18/40

Day 18: Acts Ch.18. Today we meet Aquila and Priscilla, who provided their home for shelter and education for missionaries like Paul and Apollos.

Prayerfully ask God that our homes would be an environment for sharing Christ with family, friends, and neighbors. Let us also pray for a desire to go house to house in prayer and the Word.

Acts 18

After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man’s house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

13 Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

14 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

15 But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

16 And he drave them from the judgment seat.

17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

19 And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

20 When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

22 And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.

23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

God always has a plan in place and people set in your path to take care of you. I pray the Lord uses me to help someone in ministry in their time of need.

  2. Acts 18

28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

In the first portion of this chapter ,Oaul tried to reach certain Jews but was rejected. We find that a man who was not yet baptized had been preaching and teaching and was convincing the Jews. Aquila and Pricilla were not afraid and seen the great influence he was having. My mind went back to a man called Jason Goree a pastor of the Baptist Church . A another man named Lael Barkman the pastor of the Mennonite , another man named Michael Bower who was not afraid to reach out tin these pastors of other denominations. The Mennonite pastor had my husband come teach his 7 young monsters one night . All 7 were filled with the Holy Ghost, baptism in Jesus name occurred soon after. The Baptist pastor preached a message to the Pentecostals and was filled with the Hoky Ghost and baptized in Jesus name he soon after became the assistant pastor to my husband. All because one man had no fear to guide and lead these other men of influence. These men were able to reach others that possibly would had never been reached unless someone with truth recognized they too had a live for souls and just needed more instruction in scripture. We can teach entire congregations and they will listen they will come if we reach with a heart of love and boldness in the Holy Ghost. I’ve seen it before and will see it again . Lead us Lord daily in Jesus name!

  3. 2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

I love how God will put like-minded people in your life to assist you and let you know that you are not alone. No doubt there was x whenever Paul had felt alone being that he went from persecuting Jews, to preaching the gospel to immediately being persecuted himself that he may have felt abandoned by Brothers in Christ who still did not trust him, but God brought him Aquila and Priscilla. They had like-mindedness and had similar occupations. It may seem like a small matter but God is in the details and God has a way of encouraging us whenever we are down to let us know he knows where we are.

  4. 24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

Two things. Last night Bro. Nava so wonderfully spoke to us and said despite David’s mistakes, God still thought very highly of David and called him a man after God’s own heart. Here in this verse, this man knew Word but he didn’t fully know the truth, yet we see how highly spoken of he is. What comes to mind is a trending lyric of many songs right now, “I am who You day I am.” But who does God say that I am?

The other thing is revival of course! There’s churches every where that know Word, but are lacking an element of truth. There are even backsliders and atheists out there who know the Bible like the back of their hand, yet they lack believing the truth. Our job is like Aquilla and Priscilla, (yes, that’s us too ladies) to simply speak and share truth with others. Shine light and help bring understanding and revelation – the Word speaks for itself, we just gotta share it!

  5. 24. And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

    25. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

You may not do everything perfect, but do what you know to do, and do it fervently and with diligence.

    Ecclesiastes 9:
    10. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

  6. And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

  7. Acts Chapter 18 verse 8-11
    8. Jesus Christ Believed in the ruler of his house and the Corinthians hearing was believed and they were baptized.
    9. Jesus Christ Spoke to Paul at night in a vision he said you can speak but don’t be afraid of Jesus.
    10. No man of thee shall hurt people.
    11. So Jesus Decided to teach for 1 Year and 6 Months

  8. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
    Acts 18:26 KJV
I love this verse because it shows how we can approach and befriend those who may not have all of the truth but do have something from God.
The word expound means to present and explain (a theory or idea) systematically and in detail. Aquila and Priscilla didn’t tear down what Apollos had but added to it more perfectly or completely.
I’m reminded of a time when I went to an interdenominational lunch time Bible study at an Air Force Base we were stationed at. God would not allow me to share there until I dealt with the pride in my heart that thought I have the truth and therefore I was better than everyone else there. Yet, after learning that lesson, I was able to learn from them and then God allowed me to share what I have received from Him. Thankful for a loving and patient God!

  9. 28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ

Make me a house of prayer

  10. And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. Even the teacher can learn. Apollos knew of John the baptist; he believed in God, but was still learning as he was preaching. This is what it’s all about. Train each other; teach each other; help everyone of us to grow stronger in Jesus. Even the the leaders in the church need to be fed. We get fed by those that God has put before us and they are fed by those God brings before them. Thank you Jesus for the meat of your word and making us stronger through the teaching of your word.

Again another example of hospitality, and God never fails to encourage us. I’m thinking as I was reading, how am I like Aquilla and Priscilla, how do I contribute to the Man and Woman of God when they come through to share a word of the Lord, Talking about any preacher and his family, what does my family do to contribute. How much like Pricilla am I. It’s important to be a servant to the comfort of the saints of God, Jesus washed his disciples feet. The disciples went all over just preaching, the apostals that came up after did the same, and every where they went God allowed them some Hospitality. How much more can I give of myself to minister to those who Minister to others.

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Wow, as I was reading this the light came on. Yep, God gave Paul a specific word and it was fulfilled. The Lord promised that Paul would not get hurt in this city. He stays there a year and half until he was finally taken to judgement. Now, think about this…it was Paul who was “causing trouble” by preaching the Gospel and it was Paul who was taken to judgement, but who was beaten? This time it was not Paul…why? Because God said he would not be hurt in this city. The Word of God was like a force field around him and these folks started beating someone else instead of the one who was brought to judgement. 17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

The Word of the Lord is true and will accomplish that which it set out to do. Trust his Word

  13. Acts 18:9-10 (nlt)
    9) One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent!
    10) For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.

I believe this is an encouraging word for POFW today. We are not to be Afraid or Silent (for He is with us), but we are to SPEAK OUT and share our testimony and the Gospel with someone in the city of Fort Worth today. Why? Because many people in the city of Fort Worth belong to Him (they are yet to be saved).

  14. 8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

  15. One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.” But just as Paul started to make his defense, Gallio turned to Paul’s accusers and said, “Listen, you Jews, if this were a case involving some wrongdoing or a serious crime, I would have a reason to accept your case.
Acts of the Apostles 18:9‭-‬10‭, ‬14 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.18.9-14.NLT

Do not fear your accuser! What can man do to you? What can the enemy do to you? When we know who we are in Christ and what God can do in our lives we get that real reality check that we need to know that the battle is not ours it is the Lord’s.

  16. 12 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

This is what the world is trying to do with each of us today. They are trying to turn everything wrong and make it right, and turning everything right is now wrong. I find they are determined to judge the church because many are insensitive to the truth and they can not or do not want to hear it. No matter what they bring against us in accusations and judgements, there is but only on that can judge all men and women. We are not the judges, we have to be the messengers.

To many church folks want to judge those coming into the church and all we need to do is simply love them and God will work their salvation out. Praise the lord to the God we serve because he is sitting in the seat of mercy and grace and not the seat of judgement.

Remember what so ever judgement you bring toward others, you will surely be judged with the same judgement.

    I love the Kingdom!

  17. Acts 18: 9 [Amp] And one night the Lord said to Paul in a vision. Have no fear, But speak and do not keep silent. [ Isa.43:5] Fear not , for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east ( where they are dispersed and gather you from the west. Don’t fear the Lord is with you, Keep on reaching for the lost. Spread the good news about Jesus everywhere you go. Witness to as many souls as you can . God lead and guide and protect us where ever we go. Soften up hearts today to come to repentance in there lives in Jesus name.

  18. 18 :25,26,27 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and fought diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

And he began to speak and thought boldly in the synagogue who when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
    ———-
Ok, this man grew up in the teachings, Godly man, a man with the fear of the Lord, bold, and wanting to spread the word. This man is a servant of God.
He has a gift and he is not afraid to use it…..
    ——
    Be reachable.
    Be teachable
    Be willing
    Be humble

  19. And after Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul spent all his time preaching the word. He testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. But when they opposed and insulted him, Paul shook the dust from his clothes and said, “Your blood is upon your own heads—I am innocent. From now on I will go preach to the Gentiles.”
Acts of the Apostles 18:5‭-‬6 NLT

One thing I noticed Paul did I mention this yesterday Paul walk away he didn’t argue with them he simply shook the dust of his clothes and move on it’s is not our place to argue with people if they reject the gospel move on
Everyone knows I work at jcpenney one thing I don’t like is they push people to have JCPenny cards , and they push Associates to get people to sign up for JCPenney card it seems like to me that jcp is all about cards it’s told to us that if you don’t get at least 3 credit cards a month you can lose your job or not be schedule . I tell my manager many time I am not going to push people I will tell them the benefits if they say no I will move on. My point is we are to tell people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ if they rejected the move on

  20. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
    Acts 18:25‭-‬28 KJV

Some people come to a revelation of the knowledge of the truth in stages. This is why we can’t afford to write people off who belong to other churches. If we are patient and kind, we may have the opportunity to lead them to baptism in Jesus name.

However, if our spirits are haughty and condemning, they will probably never hear us. (Who knows, they may be closer to God in their confusion than we are in our self-righteousness and pride.) We cannot assume that we are saved (and, therefore, better than these others) merely because we hold the truth. If we don’t hold it and share it in love, we deceive ourselves that we are righteous. We must always remember that it was the grace of God that brought us to truth, and that same grace working in us that will give us the opportunity to share with those who are hungry but misguided.

“If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.”
    1 Corinthians 13:1‭-‬5 NLT

  21. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

There is no reason to fear!!!!!! GO SPEAK BOLDLY AND SHARE THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!!!!!

  22. 24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

    Fervent in the Spirit.

This man was on Fire for Jesus! To be said that you are fervent. What’s your fire doing right now? Are we keeping it tindered and burning, or are we allowing it to grow dim.
I just changed my battery in my candle, and lastnight when I went to bed, and praying, I said,”Lord my fire looks a little dim, I’ll change it in the morning.” When I changed it, it was a totally different light. Brighter, happier, fuller. Yet, what would have happened if it went out lastnight while I was asleep? We cannot afford to let our light go so dim that it is in trouble of going out completely. May the Fire of my Altar never burn out, yes. But it should be may the Fire of my altar never go dim.
We need our fires to be fervent in these last days, as people become more calast to world, the church must be ever hotter to burn away those things that come against us. We must seek after God everyday, first and foremost. Dont let it become a have too, but let it stay a get too.

    Hows your altar
May the Fire of the Altar never go dim
    Seek ye first the Kingdom

  23. 9 Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision; Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city. Thank you Jesus, for raising up POFW to go in boldness into this city to reach the lost and hurting.

  24. 28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

It takes the word of God and the power of the Holy Ghost to witness and when we have these 2 things, we can reach our family, friends, and this region.

  25. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:believed, and were baptized.

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

When we are following and seeking after the will of God to carry the Gospel to the whole world, He will order our steps and open doors that will amaze us! He will place people in high places and positions in society that have the ability to spread the Gospel in areas that would not be receptive to the Word of God. Lord help us to be bold and share the Word to all around us! #firstfire #firstthekingdom

  26. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KEEP TEACHING AND PREACHING TRUTH

24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

There is a GREAT Harvest of souls in the world today. Many are entrenched in sin and bound by addiction. But as we witness here, there are others that just need to be expounded the way of GOD more perfectly.

Sounds like Apollos had the FIRE as he was FERVENT in the spirit. He only lacked some TRUTH. The WORD (FIRE) of GOD in us will compel us to Teach and Preach TRUTH to all that will listen.

Remember the HIGH Value of HBS and lets GO Teach TRUTH.

  27. Making disciples is not an easy thing. It takes time. You see people at their best, and their worst. We have to remember that when we are seeking new people in God’s kingdom that it’s not just a, “Hey, glad you joined us.” Rather we need to encourage, protect, defend, and walk along side our new friends.

  28. Acts 18: 12-19: 10

Paul had left Athens and gone to Corinth. And that there in Corinth he had met a couple, Aquila and Priscilla, who had escaped from Rome, due to the wave of anti-Semitism that Claudius had promoted. And we saw that Paul went to live with them, because they performed the same office as Paul, that is, to do tents or tents. And so it was that he led them to the Lord. We also saw that Corinth was a great commercial center of the Roman Empire and, at the same time, a city of depraved morality. There was a vulgar and ostentatious display of wealth and also a horrible and cruel poverty. Corinth was then, the vanity fair of that time. However, although some believed, Paul also encountered great opposition among the Jews. So, then, he turned to non-Jews. And we also saw that the Lord spoke to Paul, because he was entering a new and great dimension of his missionary work. And we believe that when he received that opposition, he was willing to leave, but the Lord himself intervened and arrested Paul, telling him that he wanted him to stay in that city because many would believe in Christ. And we saw that Paul in obedience stayed in Corinth for 18 months, teaching them the Word of God. Now, once again, the gospel caused opposition. Let’s read now verse 12 of this chapter 18 of the Acts: And we believe that when he received that opposition, he was willing to leave, but the Lord himself intervened and arrested Paul, telling him that he wanted him to stay in that city because many would believe in Christ. And we saw that Paul in obedience stayed in Corinth for 18 months, teaching them the Word of God. Now, once again, the gospel caused opposition.

In this 40 days we gona face opposition, and that is a sing that r enemy in not liking it,and he shows up,because greather is he that is in me that he that is in the world 1 jonh:4:4

We r gona see things we never seen before, that is because we r escalating to new levels of faith, profecy miracles sings and wonders,if we want and hunger to see new things in r lifes we gona have true go true new levels of war, thats why maybe the trial is gona b harder, but we gona come down just like moses when he came down from talking to God in that mountain reflecting His Glory,

Thats why r God first and r pastor chalenges pofw to this 40 days, so we can expirience biger levels of God’s Glory

  29. God always keeps His Word, we should not fear!
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

  30. 6But when they opposed and insulted him, Paul shook the dust from his clothes and said, “Your blood is upon your own heads—I am innocent. From now on I will go preach to the Gentiles.”

How many of us could do what Paul did? Shake the dust and look the other way. It’s easier said than done. That’s where your patience suppose to kick in, and walk away versus getting into a shouting match or fist fight. Ask God for patience, and he’ll deliver you from any circumstance.

  31. It seems like on every leg of this journey, when it’s time for Paul to move on God sends someone to take his place, or someone receives revelation to take his place and he can move on to the next city/location.

Praying that God will lead us to people that are hungry that take over some of the tasks that the ministry is doing, so that the ministry can focus on teaching/training new disciples so that they become strong enough to take their place.

Maxwell says you should always be training people to take your place. As leaders we need to invest in those that are just coming us, so eventually they can take our place, and we can move on to something else that God is speaking to us about.

  32. Acts 18 verse 13 Saying this fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law, In the day of Paul there was so much politics in the church between Jesus and the Law of Jesus, because men who was teaching the law was not reading about the law they only was follow the teachings of the men, WHICH AT ITS NOTHING DIFFERENT IN TO DAYS DAY, Why at is to many churches but one bible one God?, Jesus Said in, I-SA’IH I AM GOD AND I AM NOT CHANGE, So the bible doesn’t change, So why so many different Christians in one single word of God, And I-SA’IH and in, HOSEA 4 verse 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee that thou shall be no priest to me seeing thou hast forgotten the law of God, i will also forget thy children, In today Days Many churches has already forgot the laws of the Lord not even mentioned in the church, and fallow the teaching of mans, By doing this we will going to take the mark of the beast, And we will not going to see the second coming of the great day of the LORD JESUS CHRIST,

  33. 10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

No matter how lonely life’s journey may get we have the reassurance that the lord is always with us and we never have a reason to fear the enemy’s attack. Like the Bible tells us in
romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

  34. In this chapter

5 When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. 6 But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” (Message version Bible gateway)

Again Paul was trying to share the word of God about the Messiah. Some people oppose him but still he went next-door to preach to the other people. Sometimes we just don’t try, if people reject us you give up. But that is not the right thing to do you have to go to other people and try to give us them so they can be like us to make it to heaven! I BELIEVE IN YOU POFW!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😄😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

7 Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. 8 Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul believed and were baptized.

9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. 10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” 11 So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.

  35. When I read today’s chapter all I could think was “This battle is not yours, but God’s”. Just as God kept Paul, the same he will do for us. We must make sure we are diligently seeking the Kingdom first and aligning our lives with His will. As Pastor said in his blog yesterday, we must live IN Jesus

  36. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Don’t be afraid to preach the gospel to your friends, co-workers, and neighbors in the city of Fort Worth! Jesus is with us, and with Him, we can do anything! There are so many people in Fort Worth that belong to Jesus and need to hear the truth! Revival starts with us! Let’s go and reach the lost!

  37. “But when they opposed and insulted him, Paul shook the dust from his clothes and said, “Your blood is upon your own heads—I am innocent. From now on I will go preach to the Gentiles.” Then he left and went to the home of Titius Justus, a Gentile who worshiped God and lived next door to the synagogue. Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, and everyone in his household believed in the Lord. Many others in Corinth also heard Paul, became believers, and were baptized.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭18:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This shows that Paul treated the Jews of Corinth with love and grace even after they rejected him and his message. He certainly did not forbid Jewish people from coming to Jesus; he merely switched the focus of his evangelism from the Jews to the Gentiles.

  38. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue:

We must begin to speak boldly in our churches once again we must no longer sugar coat the truth no long tell what they want to hear but what they meed to hear and the whole truth…PASTOR WATTS PREACH IT TO ME STRAIGHT. In the name of Jesus let boldness take over you and you teach it to me how it must be taught preach it to me how it’s supposed to be preached

  39. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

FEAR is not of the Lord. PERIOD! When God speaks we need to listen to what he has to say. As Christians we need to speak the word of God and the word of Faith and be not afraid of what others think. When our faith exceeds our fear God can crush all doubt we have at any time. All our minds and spirit need to be set on us the Glory and profound holiness of Jesus Christ. If we make ourselves after the work of God we can be like David but even better we can be who God made us to be. We can’t be afraid to be who God made us to be.

  40. Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

When someone ask us about church we need to have the boldness to tell them the truth with boldness. People are looking to us for honest answers about how to be saved. It is time we speak yhe truth with boldness and when we do we may have to leave friends and famiky behind because not everyone will agree with us.

  41. We must be about our father’s business. There is no time to allow ourselves to drift away from the work of the ministry. We are stronger when we abide in his word.

  42. Lord i pray that we are able to have a home grounded by the Lord. That we are able to pray and worship together as one. Lord i pray that we are able to share this peace and love displayed with others and are able to spread his love and truth door to door, place to place and person to person. Lord i pray that we utilize your holy spirit to spread your great word. In Jesus name, Amen.

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

We should learn to speak up and speak out about Jesus Christ. Remembering that is his spirit that we carry with us everywhere we go.

  43. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Some need a little TLC in order to truly understand all that God has for them. Let us learn up be patient and willing to take them in and expound unto them the ways of God.

  44. Acts 18:9,10 Then spake the Lord to paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon That is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me said the Lord.

  45. 28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

This scripture proves that it takes God’s grace to believe in Jesus Christ from what some people may have not been taught. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. It was Apollos faith in God that had him to believe in Jesus Christ, and not only to keep the good news of salvation to himself, and amongst other’s that already knew of Jesus … But once he learned it was more to God than just of the story of John The Baptist, He believed on The Lord Jesus Christ and courageously spoke publicly of his new learned knowledge of Jesus Christ in front of all who’s path’s he crossed.
Some believer’s keep Jesus hidden amongst themselves, due to fear of rejection or being persecuted. All while it is a hurting, lost world out here, that needs our help. We are the hands, feet, and the mouth piece of Jesus on earth. God has already ordained us the right amount of faith and courage to help heal the broken, cast out demons, and bring other’s to him. And, even if they don’t come right away, just to sow a seed can do a miracle in someone else’s life, when they feel like the time has come for them to know Jesus Christ. I tell a joke to other’s all the time, that God chose me because he knew I was crazy enough to believe him and had the courage to speak his word and use it. God knew I was a fool and didn’t care what nobody thinks! Yet, still he called me into his Kingdom.
Because God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise! 1 Corinthians 1:27

  46. 25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

We will come into contact with people just like Aquila and Priscilla did that only know a fragment of Jesus. After Paul had long left Corinth they held on to his teachings and the gospel. The man who was fervent in spirit and diligent about all things of the Lord had a good heart to speak out for Jesus and the gospel. He missed the baptism of the Holy Ghost. What I love is that this couple took him in and didn’t embarrass him. They couldn’t have helped this man if he didn’t have a teachable spirit. We can help others if they allow us, and if we have a sincere heart to minister to them.

    20 Cuando quisieron que se demorara más tiempo con ellos, no consintió;

  48. “Paul stayed in Corinth for some time after that, then said good-bye to the brothers and sisters and went to nearby Cenchrea. There he shaved his head according to Jewish custom, marking the end of a vow. Then he set sail for Syria, taking Priscilla and Aquila with him.”

  49. 26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

The reason to reach for others and all and be willing and available to minister. There are certain people people that are in your circle of influence that only you can reach. And there are others, and though you may want to, but just cant seem to do it right. The pastor of a church will not be able to reach the same people that on of the saints could but if he can encourage that saint, then he can go and expand that reach and influence. Mighty apostle Paul seemed to always get in disputes with the Jews. Yes he did reach some. But his greatest reaping of souls was with the gentiles. It was this other man of God, Apollos, who was able to be used to mightily convince the Jews…yet Paul first reached and took in Aquilla and Priscilla who then reached to expound the way of God more perfectly unto Apollos. Can you imagine if Ananias had been to afraid to obey God and not ministered to Paul and prayed for him that he might receive the Holy Ghost, what may have happened? But he reached out…and here we are today. You might be the next obedient Ananias to reach for the next Paul in this end time revival.

  50. 3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Sometimes it is the little things that open the big doors.

  51. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

How many times do we decide not to speak up. Not to voice our opinions. The Lord has told us to not be afraid, but speak!! Don’t hold your peace, speak up for what you believe in. So many other people out there are speaking their minds, telling their lies, corrupting our children!! It’s time we spoke up and defended our faith. God is with us so no one should hurt no matter how many people are in the city or not matter how many you are up against. Don’t be afraid, speak up!!

  52. “For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭18:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/act.18.10.nlt

Our approach to this city should be with this word from God in our hearts. We need to face this city knowing that the people in it were already purchased on the cross. Jesus our the ultimate price for each and every one of us. It’s his intentions for us to reach His people so let’s Go in Jesus name!

  53. 24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

We must teach baptism in Jesus name it’s the only way.

  54. “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.””(Acts of the Apostles ‭18:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬)

Fear is not of God, we are children of God of the most high,we must not be stopped from being examples of Jesus. God told us in his word that (“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.(‭2 Timothy 1:7 KJV‬). The Lord is for us and he will never leave us high and dry for he protect us “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.(Isaiah 59:19 KJV‬)

  55. “Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭18

  56. One man’s faith turned his whole family up side down. As Crispus, believed and put his trust in the Lord. We must learn to trust in all the Lord has for us.

  57. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

Considering these portions of scripture, it is revealing that when God mandates you, (hold not thy peace) and also to that confirms his promise (for I am with thee) what a confidence that no doubt overtook Paul. To have the almighty God placed that type of confidence and trust in you WOW. Preaching the word of God without fear and reservation ought to be our ultimate purpose.

    We have –
A sword: (word of God) he said it is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. To cut and pierce, to discern the intents of the heart. The word is to enlighten the heart that is hard. It cuts, it plows, and it makes way to plant a seed of hope.

Holy Ghost and fire: It’s on the inside – power to overcome any obstacles, power to disarm any attack administrated by the adversary while we are trying to witness to the lost. It is a inner force to carry us from victory to victory in every battle. No weapon formed against us shall prosper, this is our promise.

The Gospel: What we speak, what we witness is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But not only the gospel, but it is also the very POWER of God unto salvation. What comes forth out of our mouth when we witness this gospel message is the actual power of God to reach the broken hearted, those that are held captive, this is God’s power, boy what a responsibility, what a mandate. This is not a joke.

The statement was made by God “For I have much people in this city”, could not help but think about the DFW area. I must believe we are chosen for such a time as this. We are equipped, we have the tools we have all that we need.

Interesting enough he said – And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

May we not teach or preach our own ideas, or our own theories, may we preach the absolute word of God that is pure and that is forever settled in heaven, I cannot conjure up ideas or formulas to get people to come to God, the word of God has got to be planted. Bugs the fire out of me when I hear preachers only preaching their ideas, no scriptures, no teaching of the commandments of God, no instruction on the statues of God. And as if the Word of God has got to have more materiel and ideas added to it, and these things go without being preached. He said heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall never pass away. My simplistic ideas will pass away, my thoughts that I assume are powerful will pass away! The Word of God will never pass away.

May the Word of God be alive in my soul! May it dwell richly in all wisdom, may it be written upon the tables of my heart. We are representatives of the power of this Gospel message which is the power of God unto the salvation of others.

Forever is he worthy of praise!

  58. “But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭18:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes all we can do is provide people with the good news after that it is ultimately their decision. Some may turn to God and others will not but at least we can know we did our part by providing them with the knowledge of what they need to get to heaven. However that doesn’t mean we just turn away either, we still need to keep them in our prayers and be there when they do decide the God is what they are missing and need.

  59. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Fear is major thing that holds us back as Christian’s from preaching the gospel of Jesus to people. And considering we know what stronghold of this city of Fort Worth, this is something we especially have to deal with. Bug as the scripture says, perfect love casts out fear. If we have a love for people, we want them to go to heaven which means we want them to hear the gospel, which means this love casts out and overcomes the fear we may have about approaching people about Jesus.

  60. “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.” So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the word of God.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭18:9-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There’s nothing that can come close to the assurance that God has you covered. And His covering is not something we can buy for use at our own freewill. It is through our submission and obedience that His covering is extended to us.

  61. 3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

It’s things like this that blow my mind with God. Paul was already of the same occupation. God had prepared the way for him before he ever knew he was going to need a way!

Which makes verse 10 all the more amazing, “For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.”.

Again, God had prepared and made a way for Paul to share the gospel!
