Acts Chapter 19 – 19/40

Day 19: Acts Ch. 19. Peter knew God was working in the midst of the Gentiles and he simply joined God in what he was called to do. This is the key to effective work for the Lord, finding where God is working and joining Him in that work.

Acts 19

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

  1. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

It’s amazing to see what the Word of God can do and how people react to the turning away of old deeds and wanting what Paul preached about. God is great!

  2. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

When remove things in our lives that cause us to become distracted with the things of God and cause us to stray from His Word. When this happens we take control back from the enemy! #firstfire #firstthekingdom

  3. “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them. “No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” “Then what baptism did you experience?” he asked. And they replied, “The baptism of John.” Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.” As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.

There are still people out there who have no clue about the JESUS name baptism or the Holy Ghost
Let’s go tell I don’t want to let a day pass by without telling someone about the JESUS

  4. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

You know that when the enemy comes in like a flood the Bible states that God will raise a standard against them, but what happens when you have to face one of the spirit of the enemy? Are you going to prepared spiritually or even physically?

Statistics so when the average individual comes under attack, they typically will shut down and not be able to respond to the attack. When we as children of God, those that are Holy Ghost filled and baptized in the name of Jesus, come under attack we do not have anything to worry about. The Bible states that no weapon formed against us shall prosper and that if we resist the devil he must flee. That is a great plan if we are prepared.

The spirit stated to them, we know paul and we even know Jesus, but who are you? Can I tell you that if you don’t seek first the kingdom and have a relationship with Jesus that he knows who you are and you know him, the enemy will not be afraid of you because you lack power. You lack the necessary things that will bring you victory and you will be beaten by the enemy. We have all power, dominion, and authority given to us in the name of Jesus Christ. We need to present our selves like we are experienced with the power over the enemy. Because the Bible states that greater is he that is in me, the he that is in the world.

Seek him first and seek him often!

    I love the Kingdom!

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Here we see how important it is to know how you were baptized. For you must of acted in obedience and respect but there is only one way, under ONE NAME, in which we are saved and washed from ALL sins.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

These are scriptures that we MUST ETCH IN OUR HEART AS AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH so ALL may see that we are with JESUS!!!

My Lord, if their god was such a great god, then first, why are they worried if her magnificence would be destroyed, what , God loves praise, but he dont need us, he loves to know how wonderful and mighty he is, but he is GOD and nobody can destroy his magnificence, that is such a worthless thing to worry about, they are worried about losing their income, well use it for something else, wasting talent, time and precious resources on a dead god who can not hear, see, breath, walk, talk, has no arms, legs, and is created in the mind of a man, and is made of material! Come on go with me into the house of the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD, hes the creator of the one who created your god. wow

  7. But some became stubborn, rejecting his message and publicly speaking against the Way. So Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he held daily discussions at the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord. God can empower anybody with the gift of healing, faith, discernment, interpretation, prophecy, or all the gifts. I have to be in tune with God and give Him all glory and praise. It is when there is something so small that I don’t recognize it; that I think I’m working for God, but I’m really not. The enemy can creep in and disrupt my life when I think I’m doing the work of Jesus. Yes, I said it think; that is when my mind is overshadowing my faith. My faith should be built up as Paul’s and of the disciples. It is only in faith that God can release the gifts; not in my thinking. Thank you Jesus for guiding me to walk in faith and not in this world.

  8. 9But some became stubborn, rejecting his message and publicly speaking against the Way. So Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he held daily discussions at the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

In other words they were as “stubborn as a mule”. I’m sure many knew Paul as the persecuter of Christians. They heard his testimony but still refused to listen. They could see how Paul was a changed man for God. One day, individuals will wake up and realize God is real, accept him as savior.

In a recent study on evangelism, it was determined that the main reason people do not witness to others or share their Faith is for fear or concern of rejection.

Over the past few chapters we have learned of the boldness and fruitfulness of the early disciples. Here again we witness the apostle Paul boldly asking questions and sharing the TRUTH of the New Birth salvation to these souls that demonstrate a HUNGER FOR MORE.

We must be bold enough to ask the question: “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?”

Some will criticize and condemn us over this question, but some will have a HUNGER FOR MORE. Those HUNGRY so overshadow those that reject that we are inspired and compelled to share HIS Gospel with everyone.

  10. 19. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

Just as a natural fire will burn physical items that tie to our past and our old ways of living, God’s Fire will burn out spiritual ties and desires so that we can begin again with a fresh start and a clean slate.
Jesus, let Your fire burn within me so that nothing unlike You can remain in my mind or my spirit, so that when others look at me, they only see You.

  11. Acts 19

4 “That explains it,” said Paul. “John preached a baptism of radical life-change so that people would be ready to receive the One coming after him, who turned out to be Jesus. If you’ve been baptized in John’s baptism, you’re ready now for the real thing, for Jesus.”

5-7 And they were. As soon as they heard of it, they were baptized in the name of the Master Jesus. Paul put his hands on their heads and the Holy Spirit entered them. From that moment on, they were praising God in tongues and talking about God’s actions. Altogether there were about twelve people there that day.

People Get Ready someone is coming to tell you the truth . In Jesus name leads us to hungry souls!!!!

We are in a world that serves many other gods. There’s football television media vanity and many others, when we stand to make a proclamation of Jesus it is inevitable that we are going to have opposition because we are a serious threat to any other gods.but the good news is that when Jesus returns every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he is Lord and Christ forever. It doesn’t matter what these other gods offer the people in the world they can never experience the true Joy until they experience Christ.

    • Amen Amen Amen T-helm
He didn’t say my knee or your knee.. he said EVERY knee.. even satan himself.. doesn’t matter where we are or what we doing… All will bow to the King of Kings!!!

    Acts 19:8‭-‬10 KJV
I recently saw a documentary about a Jewish school where people learned the Scripture by arguing their point to one another. Then, I talked with a man who came out of Judaism and told how he was trained to debate in grade school about Scripture. He feels we are doing our children an injustice by not training them to know the Bible better. It’s an interesting perspective and yet we see Paul boldly going into temples and schools disputing and persuading people to believe the truth about Jesus. The end result is that after two years everyone in Asia is said to have heard the Word of the Lord Jesus!

  14. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

There will always be a choice to be.made in the life of an individual. Wealth or JESUS(salvation) as we all know living for Jesus Christ os the only way of living!
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
    Matthew 6:24 KJV

  17. iLove the Kingdom
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples

Wow, just a fun fact here. According to scholars, the time frame of Acts chapter 19 is around 21 to 23 years after the day of Pentecost. What does that mean, well it means the question that Paul asked had probably become common practice. Also, receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues was also still common. So it is only common sense that something that was so common after 20+ years would still be common for us today.

  18. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Paul positioned himself in what God desires to do therefore God uses him to perform great miracles. Lesson for us, if we will position ourselves on the plan God has, then He can do mighty miracles through us as well. His word declares that He is no respect or of persons. He is merely looking for humble, willing vessels.

  19. Power over position

Do you realize what power in the Holy Ghost you possess? These sons thought that because their father was a Priest that they could do these things. The enemy knows who has the Power of the Holy Ghost. This is just another reason to make sure that our fore is fervent. For when we come up against those things of the enemy that the enemy will not over take you. It doesnt matter the position that you hold in this world. What matters is the power of God inside of you.
    Seek ye First the Kingdom

  20. 19:3 And then said unto them, unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, unto Johns baptism.
    ———
Again it shows on this passage that they knew some truth
    But not all.
Lord lead us to those believers who are willing but for some reason they have not come to the full knowledge of your truth..

  21. Acts 19 : 9 But when some became more and more stubborn ( hardened and unbelieving ), discrediting and reviling and speaking evil of the Way [ of the Lord] before the congregation, He separated himself from them, from taking the disciples with , and went on holding daily discussions in the lecture room of Tyrannus from about ten o’ clock till three. This continued for two years. I sure that they knew that Paul was a save man. God did unusual and extraordinary miracles by Paul hands. And they still didn’t believe. ” Wow’ Well someday people will come to know the truth.

  22. Acts Chapter 19 verse 2-6
    2. He Said to them Have you Believed in being a Christian and Believing in the Holy Ghost and Getting Baptism through the Church and Receiving the Gift Of the Holy Ghost by Speaking in Tongues through the Church, and they said to him I have never so much heard so much of there being any Holy Ghost
3.And he Said Have you Ever been Baptized When were you Baptized because if you were not baptized you have to receive a Repentance and then the Holy Ghost to get baptized. Unto Johns Baptism
    4. In order to get Baptized you have to have repentance and you have to get the Holy Ghost and you gave to get to speaking in Tongues with the Church because if you don’t get baptized or if you don’t get the Holy Ghost you won’t be able to speak in Tongues and you won’t be able to speak to Jesus Because Jesus won’t be able to Hear you if you are not speaking in tongues and if you want to be Christian you Have to believe in the Church,in God, You have to Believe In the Holy Ghost And Speaking in Tongues and In order to be Baptized you have to get repentance through Jesus and you have to receive the Holy Ghost Because if you Don’t Believe in Jesus and If you don’t go to Church how are you going to get repentance Because you won’t be able to have or receive repentance through Jesus and you if don’t receive the Holy Ghost and speak in Tongues when Jesus comes for us to take us to heaven he’s not going to take you and lift you up to heaven with him
5.when you Hear Jesus calling through the baptism water when you go under and when you come up from that water you are baptized through the Holy Ghost and you are speaking in Tongues to Jesus Christ.
6.and when you Praying around the Altar you are Speaking in Tongues you have your hands lifted to Heaven and to God and the Holy Ghost is upon you and Above you and you are Prophesied through the church and you are feeling Blessed

  23. The reaction of the town still occurs today. When people are given the knowledge that they are serving/worshiping false gods they often defend themselves. They will be loud and try to keep the things that have them bound. this Is why discipleship is so important. People see you living life with them and it’s easier for them to believe and let go of the false gods.

  24. “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:4-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When they heard that they didn’t get baptized in Jesus name they wanted them to get baptized in Jesus name. It doesn’t matter your age. You need to be baptized in Jesus name.

  25. And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, AND THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS WAS MAGNIFIED.
    Acts 19:16‭-‬17 KJV

The devil seems to be slow in learning that what he means for evil, God turns for good. In fact, God has a habit of making awful situations turn out right.

He did it for Joseph, for Daniel, for the boys in the fiery furnace. He did it when He called forth Jonah from the belly of the whale and Lazarus from the grave. He did it when Paul’s snakebite opened doors to save a village. He did it every time the Apostles were imprisoned and believers were added to the church. He did it by turning persecution into worldwide revival. Finally, He did it by turning Calvary into the salvation of whosoever will.

You’d think the devil would learn. Actually… you would think that we’d learn! If we really let this register in our spirits, we’d stop grumbling and complaining when things seem to go all wrong. We would glory in our tribulations, knowing that God works all things together for good. He is always in control, no matter what our enemy thinks he is trying to do. The name of the Lord Jesus will always be magnified!

  26. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

We must be full of the Holy Ghost and fire in order to do gods work.

  27. God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled. A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

    5) When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
    6) And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

    FIRST The KINGDOM !!

Acts of the Apostles 19:13‭-‬16 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.19.13-16.NLT

The difference here is not going in the power and authority of the Holy Ghost and the danger/damage it can cause. Jesus went IN THE POWER of the Holy Ghost. Paul went IN THE POWER of the Holy Ghost. Before we step in a situation…how is our altar? Are we walking in the flesh or in the Spirit? Are we operating in the POWER of the Holy Ghost??

  31. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

The things that Paul suffered for the kingdom created the oil and the light he used wherever he went to preach, as pastor preached this morning. He was used greatly but had to endure much without murmuring and complaining.

  32. “And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:11‬

“So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:12‬ ‭

    WOW!
“And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:15‬ ‭

That’s the difference between hearing the word and preaching the word .

    A.L.M.A.S.

  33. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

  34. “Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews

  35. “God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/act.19.11-12.nlt

    We too have the power.
When God gifted us with the Holy Ghost he also gave us that power. The power is ours to use and to testify about. So when God uses you in something miraculous SHARE IT! Give him glory for His power that’s what it’s all about. When you do that you’re building faith and this CHURCH is growing. I’m talking about the church as whole. Wherever you go whatever state you’re in don’t be afraid to share the Gospel and your testimony about the power within!

  36. Acts 19:11,12 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases has departed from them, and the evil spirit went out of them.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with following. Amen.

  37. Some Jews who travelled round and drove out evil spirits also tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus to do this. They said to the evil spirits, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches.” Seven brothers, who were the sons of a Jewish High Priest named Sceva, were doing this. But the evil spirit said to them, “I know Jesus, and I know about Paul; but you — who are you?”

Lord i pray that when we go out to do your works performing your miracles, that we go out doing it with a belief tjat it is you working throu through us. Lord i pray that when evil is looking at us that it is looking at you. I pray that we have established our motives to be of your will and not by our own selfish ignorance. Lord i pray that we all are used mightily in your kingdom and that you are givin all the glory. It is only by your spirit we are able to draw people nearer to you it is only by your power that we are able to witness such miracle and it is on by your name that we are able carry out these miraculous signs and wonders. In Jesus name, Amen!

  39. Acts, 19 verse 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, And now this about twelve men, When they were full of the Holy Spirit , They went home and they burn all the books of teachings to worship images, thy burned images and books, verse 19 Many of them which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men; and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver, Now this is a real REVIVAL, BUT, The ones that they did not repent they when to make War with the people of God, Now in verse 23 and the same time there arose no small stir about that way, From verse 23 all the way 34 there is a very ugly conflict with the people of God, Now the Apostle John saw this in the book of REVELATIONS 12 verse 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make WAR with the remnant of her seed which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ, These is big war of words same is happen in Haven the war started in Haven at will finished in earth, IN the Great Day Of The Lord, we are still in war with the dragon, if we keep the law and the commandments of God which many churches already forgot to preach special the four commandment symbol of Creation and Redemption ,God said remember my Holy day and keep Holy, and no one preaches about it, we worship the day of the queen of havens Diana verse 34 But when they knew that he was a Jew all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out Great is Diana of the Ephesians, exactly that way of the Roman church cried in all Latin countries for the virgin marry, same is lake the day of Paul,

  40. This chapter has several points that are interesting:
    1. Did you receive the Holy Ghost since you believe? In every place they went went they preached; they have to lay hands or urge them to receive the Holy Spirit after repentance.
    2. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying We abjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
And there were seven sons of the one Sce’va, a Jew, and chief of the priest , which did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know but who are ye?
And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men
This event was notorious before all the leaders and practioners of whichcraft, they saw the Almighty power of the Lord to whom, Paul served. It was notorious how their power was nothing compared to Jesus power, they were serving to the wrong lord, until they found the One God.
    3 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith shrines for Diana, brought NO SMALL gain unto the craftsman;
He made a scandalous meeting against The disciples of the living God, because he was so worry about his gain. He said sirs you know this is the way that we obtain our money and if all Asia got converted how we are going to live?
This example is similar to the exorcist they were selling their services in the streets obviously for Money. Since the remotes times the love of money has been the perdition of man. This reminds me when Jesus rebuked the demons and cast them into the sea. All the city came to Jesus and asked Him to leave. Why? I thought He did something good on favor of them, because the possessed man perturbed the city. They had to be grateful or not. Well they preferred the commodity of money.
In our actual time the idolatry is not finished and for the people that make the artifices is a good resource of gain.
At the end Times, our Lord is going to destroy all things that are against Him. Specially idolatry.
    Revelations 19:11-13
    And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; FOR NO MAN buyeth their merchandise any more;
The merchandise of gold , and silver , and precious stones , and of pearls , and fine linen, and purple, and silky, and scarlet, and all thyme wood, and all manner vessels of Ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass , and Iron, and marble,
And cinnamon, and odors , and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep , and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

  41. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

There are some believers out there that just need to be exposed to the right direction and doctrine. This is a great way to speak with those that are not pentecostal or apostolic but profess to be of the faith. Sometimes all they need is one good explaining from the Word about the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  42. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Make Me a house of prayer
FIRE ON MY ALTAR NEVER BURN OUT
Make me a house of prayer

  43. “Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Pure gospel will show the evils of the world. Growing up I’ve heard many stories of witches and demons calling out preachers name. Because the true word of God is in them. Jesus allow me to be so close to you that demons flees at the sight of you.

  44. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

  45. 24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

The work of a mans hands is precious to him. I know this very well because we live it. When I am done with a project I like to look back and reflect sometimes about all the work, planning, skill and artistry that went into it. The scripture declare that whatsoever you do, do it unto the Lord. So when I design something or build it I want it to please God himself also I need it to sell so that my family can live. These guys were doing the same thing for their families the only difference was that they were working against God. This is a bad retirement plan.if whatever you are doing for a hobby, pastime or even for a living doesn’t please God, you will someday have to make a choice. If you put down something like that in the name of Jesus you better believe that he will provide something else even better for you to do. I’ve seen people move off for a job without considering the spiritual impact in their families. We know that we have to work to eat, that is scripture but we also have to be in position to receive our daily bread. Really what is this life worth if you miss heaven. What is it that a man would gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Lord I pray that the work of my hands pleases you!

  46. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

Unfortunately, many people don’t know to pay attention to what is said as they are being baptized. Thank you Jesus for a Pastor who teaches us better than that.

  47. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

  48. 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

I can’t imagine not knowing or ever even hearing of the Holy Ghost. I’ve know of Him all my life and to think of not knowing is is imaginable. This makes my heart hurt to know that there are people all around the world that do not know Jesus. They do not know if the Holy Ghost.

Church we have work to do.

  49. In this chapter, we see the faithfulness of moving when the holy ghost sends you. Many miracles took place. So the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ] was growing greatly and prevailing.

  50. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Paul did just as we do in church today. He laid hands on them and the received the Holy Ghost, they spoke in tongues, and prophesied.

So much so that when Paul did this sick people were brought to him. Not only the sick but things that belonged to sick. Material items. Handkerchiefs and aprons.
These verses are perfect to depictions to present when we are questioned about Pentecost. I have more than once been asked by fellow Christians of other denominations why we worship the way we do, why we pray the way we do, why we speak in tongues or dance crazy. Just these few verses are enough to show that why we did what we do. We do as the Bible gives us examples. Laying hands to receive the Holy Ghost, laying hands on the sick, prayer cloths, praying against sickness and evil spirits. You read it as well. We do it like the Bible teaches us. I’ve never read anyone doing a Hail Mary.

  51. 19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

When we put His Kingdome first, He will prevail!

  52. “God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The power that God gave to Paul wasn’t just given to Paul. But to all that believe in name of Jesus and that he died for there sins on Calvary. We are able to perform unusual miracles just like Paul did we have to trust in God and in his Word for him to use us in public. We can’t be afraid to speak the truth because God himself said to Paul that don’t be afraid “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.””(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭18:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

  53. “The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:32‬ ‭NIV

I found it interesting to read that during a protest there was confusion among the people about what it was they were even protesting against. It just goes to prove that some people are pure followers of the masses and don’t have a mind of their own. So the next time you have opposition from others about what you believe just remember they may be just following the masses of unbelievers. There’s so much information out there and so much half truth from media platforms they don’t know what they believe or who to believe. So let’s not start a debate with them,m but let’s show them godly love and help their heart and eyes be open to truth.

  54. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Verse 20 demonstrates the success of how the gospel was being preached and handled in these times. It mentions the word of God grew mightily. I am of the persuasion that by the form of preaching and the expression of boldness due to being so charged with the Holy Ghost was what advanced the word of God throughout the land of where it was being preached. The word grew and the territory was gained in favor of the gospel and it did prevail.

We have such a mandate, and a mass responsibility to spread the message to whosoever will believe. We must expand our territory and spread the good news. But to be a witness, is much more then speaking of the gospel, I believe that when speaking of this gospel we ought to be so fully charged by the Holy Ghost that the words we speak are orchestrated by the Holy Ghost. When the seed is planted may it be planted with passion, and the words that we speak are not just dry noneffective words, rather may it go forth with power and fire. May the impact be staggering, and the recipient never forgot the day the message was spoken to him/her.

I can recall as a young boy, we always had prayer at our home every night. My dad would call a prayer meeting every night. We would come together as a family and pray, I recall the prayer was fervent, and extensive and we would pour out all. Never will I forget that old house, it was where I received the Holy Ghost at the age of 6 yrs old. At that time one of the back windows was broken of the bedroom, one night while praying the next door neighbor heard the prayer going forth in that small house, the next day she came knocking on the door and asked what was going on at night? She mentioned she would hear prayers going forth, she stated with tears in her eyes it sounded beautiful and she felt a strong presence that would enter into her room in her house and would not let her sleep, and all she could do was weep. She asked if she could join us, we told her absolutely. The next few nights following she would come join us in prayer and she received the Holy Ghost in that small house a few nights after. The message and the word of God prevailed.

May our prayers not be just repetitive vain words, may they be so charged and full of the power and authority. When we witness may the words that we speak be orchestrated by the Holy Ghost as mentioned so that we can impact those that are needing of Jesus Christ. We must advance, and the word of God must prevail.

  55. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  56. “This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord.

So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:10, 20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There’s a message that we must get out to the world. The word of God must increase within first and then to those around us. Then miracles will begin in people’s lives. We will see souls saved. Let Jesus out and we will see miracles signs and wonders.

“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But the word of God grew and multiplied.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭KJV‬
