Acts Chapter 22 – 22/40

Day 22: Ch.22. Paul is an example of a transformed life. Today he confronts an angry crowd that he would have gladly participated in just a few years earlier.

Prayerfully thank God for His ongoing work of transforming your life and for the power of the Holy Ghost that preserves and sustains us.

Acts 22

Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.

(And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)

I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.

And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,

13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;

18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,

24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.

25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.

27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.

28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

  1. 3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.

Paul before his conversion already had a fire stirred up in his belly for the things of God. He thought everything he was doing was serving God diligently it was quick to change when he realized he was wrong. Saul/Paul did not magically just get a fire inside of him a burning passion forgot as soon as he converted he just simply put all of the passion he already had towards living for Jesus. the only way we are going to be on fire for Christ is if we give the effort that we would give anything else and more to the world. When we can serve God like we would serve our flesh nothing would be able to stop us. I believe God has put a wholly devoted fire inside every single human being and that allow them to use that fire for whatever god they served. So the real question is what God do we serve with that fire?

  3. The power of your testimony…..everyone has one and should be willing to share it for the glory of God. Paul boldly gave his in the middle of what could have been even more torturous than he thought; but, he never backed down. We never know what part of our testimony may speak to someone or they maybe able to relate to. This reminded me of the song that we sing “The Whole Earth Sings (We Pour Out Our Best For You)”, as we must pour out our best for the Lord:

    We will stand and rejoice
    As one people
    Lifting one voice

    You’re worthy of glory
    Worthy of honor
    Worthy of praise

And we will shout and proclaim
    The greatness of
    Your holy name

    You’re worthy of glory
    Worthy of honor
    Worthy of praise

    You are holy
    You are holy
The whole earth sings Your praise
The whole earth sings Your praise

Oh, now redeemed from our past
    Your people dance
    Free at last

We pour out our best for You

  4. And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,

  5. 14. And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

    15. For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

    Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Everyone that receives the Holy Ghost should be witnesses of what God can and will do.

  6. Acts Chapter 22 Verse 12-15
12.so Ananias had a Report and it was good according to the law so he had stayed there.
    13. So then Brother Saul Came to me and he stood and said to me receive thy sight and thy power and I looked at him.
    14. So then Jesus Choose three Fathers to see his will and know on his shoulder and he could hear the voice of Jesus and he could also see Jesus.
15.For the Witness of All Men and All Women Jesus will make sure they are heard of or seen from

  7. 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

Unto all men, meaning no exclusions. Share your testimony of how good God has been to you, of how He’s saved and delivered you, how He’s changed you!

  8. The commander still wanted to know the truth about why Paul was being accused by the Jews. Therefore, the next day he ordered the chief priests and the entire Jerusalem Council to assemble. Then he took Paul out of prison and had him stand before them.

God will open doors for others to hear of His goodness. All we have to do is be that Light this dark world needs. “We’ll leave the Light on for you”. There was curiosity sparked in the Roman officer. That curiosity can be an opening for God to step in and reveal His Wonder. We need to be on our toes in these last days. Opportunities are everywhere. People are searching searching searching. Feeling their way through the darkness. How much more can we help them if we’re that Light that can show them the way to their answer. Jesus has called us to be the Light of the world. We can lead these people out of the darkness they’ve stumbled in for so long and into His Presence.
I pray for the Sienna I met at 7-11 yesterday.
I pray for Jeremy I met at Taco Casa.
I pray for Shameka at Waffle House.
I pray for the lady at QT.
I pray for Iisha to come today!!
Jesus, I pray every restriction is removed and everyone that’s received an invite will follow the Light and find their way to Your house! In Jesus name!

  9. The commander brought Paul inside and ordered him lashed with whips to make him confess his crime. He wanted to find out why the crowd had become so furious. When they tied Paul down to lash him, Paul said to the officer standing there, “Is it legal for you to whip a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been tried?”
Acts of the Apostles 22:24‭-‬25 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.22.24-25.NLT

I feel like I would confess to anything just to not be whipped. Paul always stood his ground, he trusted in God, people are haters, the cant handle the truth, and they make a big scene because they mess up, and God gives the Pastor discernment. No trial for Paul, the people are irritating me, their causing such a problem, so he must have done something, OK I’ll just beat it out of you! Paulslike um nope, I’m a Roman Citizen and your not about to do it this way. People only wanna beleive what they chose to, if they are irritated about a situation, and they wanna handle it quickly, then let’s do what it takes to speed up the process. I’m about not rushing, because Gods time is not my time. Prayer changes situations, and I’m about praying and seeking, and waiting, and knowing when is the right time to take that step of faith!
Lord, help me be obedient to your word, and let me be like Paul and humbly stand my ground.

So God chose Saul/Paul; a man of the law. A greatly feared man, but a man. Paul had power to do almost as he wished with those he persecuted. He chose to follow the law at that time, but God said, “Watch this; I’m gonna take this man’s sight and then send him to one of my devout disciples and be trained up in my ways.” God knows what he is doing and when it is time to open our eyes to see His light. Saul/Paul became a great man of God and preached to those that he put under foot before he was transformed in his mind and in his heart. Lord I pray that this day my eyes are opened; that the scales would fall off and this world would be shown through your eyes. Now I don’t know how else to put this. I want to see this rock through God’s eyes and not through my own. Lord I thank you this day for the things that you have done and are doing in my life.

  11. 25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.

Sometimes the laws of our land can be used to the benefit of the Kingdom. Christians should not be afraid to use those laws when necessary. Praise the Lord we live in a country that has laws that protect us. Christians should continue to defend those rights and vote.

  12. “The high priest and the whole council of elders can testify that this is so. For I received letters from them to our Jewish brothers in Damascus, authorizing me to bring the followers of the Way from there to Jerusalem, in chains, to be punished. “As I was on the road, approaching Damascus about noon, a very bright light from heaven suddenly shone down around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ “‘Who are you, lord?’ I asked. “And the voice replied, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, the one you are persecuting.’ The people with me saw the light but didn’t understand the voice speaking to me. “I asked, ‘What should I do, Lord?’ “And the Lord told me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told everything you are to do.’ “I was blinded by the intense light and had to be led by the hand to Damascus by my companions. A man named Ananias lived there. He was a godly man, deeply devoted to the law, and well regarded by all the Jews of Damascus. He came and stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, regain your sight.’ And that very moment I could see him! “Then he told me, ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and hear him speak. For you are to be his witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard. What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.’ “After I returned to Jerusalem, I was praying in the Temple and fell into a trance. I saw a vision of Jesus saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem, for the people here won’t accept your testimony about me.’ “‘But Lord,’ I argued, ‘they certainly know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you. And I was in complete agreement when your witness Stephen was killed. I stood by and kept the coats they took off when they stoned him.’ “But the Lord said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles!’ ” The crowd listened until Paul said that word. Then they all began to shout, “Away with such a fellow! He isn’t fit to live!””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭22:5-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our past is very important to who we are today. Paul gives us an example of when he came from and who he became and was able to share with his accusers that he was once where they were but something changed. When God steps in we become better versions of ourselves. Some will accept that and others will turn away from you because of it but in the end if you’re Living for God and invested in that relationship it’s all worth it because you will never know a greater love.

  13. Paul was free born. It was his right that can’t be taken from him. So it is when we become a child of God. We become born into his kingdom through baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost. No one can change that it take it away. We paid nothing for it as it was freely given. The only way to lose this being born into the kingdom is for the child to deny it. That is why with everything I do I try, to the best of my ability through God, to live the way God has called me to live. Why would I be a child of God and live like the devil? It’s like the two masters. I would hate one and love the other.

  14. 19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

It amazes me when we are found full of sin and Jesus saves us, sanctifies us, and redeems us through baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost, how sometimes people doesn’t she the new person, but only what you were. Many forget that we all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God. We are not worthy of the mercy and grace, but God shows us that afresh every morning.

We have to obey the calling of God no matter how much we want to forget where we come from. God allows us to use our past as a testimony to reach those like us. We are great examples of love and grace to be able to bear witness to the goodness of Jesus.

The question that boggles my mine is this, how can so many that claim to be saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, still want to judge others even though they have been forgiven and released from their past? And yet each of us weren’t always clean?

Seeking first the kingdom of God allows us not to judge but to love like Jesus. We have to seeking him to the point to where we are filled with the same attributes he shows us to show others in this dying generation. We have to be a church that loves unconditionally no matter what.

    I love the Kingdom!

  15. What did you pay?

28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

Every Memorial Day we remember the cost of our freedom in the lives of all those who paid the supreme sacrifice for our country. Millions have laid down their lives to defend our way of life. Everything that we value has its cost. Shame on us if we forget or take for granted what we owe to those who have protected us and saved us from our enemies.

Our forgiveness was purchased at great cost. Jesus death was and is different than any other death before or since. Think about the events leading up to his death. Jesus was not stoic, calm and peaceful about what lay ahead for Him; He knew the cost. When He prayed in Gethsemane, He was sorrowful, very heavy, exceeding sorrowful even unto death. He fell to the ground three times praying this event not take place.

The reason death was so difficult for Jesus is that he alone realized that he was about to experience the full divine judgment on the evil and sin of humanity. He was to take upon himself the judgment we deserved.

  16. Acts 22. Message

10-11 “Then I said, ‘What do I do now, Master?’

    A New Identity
What an awesome testimony Paul had!

Here is a murderer the God transforms within seconds. His first reply was What so I do now?
So many of forget the transformation that has taken place or don’t know what to do. God has equipped each of us to use what He has already given us. Our own testimony. I’m not sure why some wait or never tell their testimonials. There are so many people waiting for someone to look at them and say I’d like to share a story my story . I’d like to tell you what happened to my life and how God transforms something ugly into beautiful. Many times people cannot believe what God has done and will do until they have heard and seen the miraculous power. We carry that power and it’s on our testimony. So what will we do with our transformation. Will we hide it or will we say as Paul did . It is our duty to encourage new converts to share their testimony they will learn by example. We cannot be ashamed of where God has brought us from. But declare what God has done in our life!

11 “Then I said, ‘What do I do now, Master?’

    And God said Go!

. Psalm 71:15-16 I will declare your righteousness and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand
what the outcome will be. Lord God, I will come in the power of your mighty acts, remembering your righteousness—yours alone.

  17. High Noon.

6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

God will co.e to you anytime day or night to stop you from destroying yourself. We ofter wonder why this or that is happening in our lives? Could it be that God is trying to get your attention to speak to you? Listen, as you journey for God is speaking to you.

    Seek ye first the Kingdom
    My Fire on My Altar
    How is your altar

  18. 7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

  19. Don’t WVER FORGET where He brought you out of for Your TESTIMONY it’s very important. Paul used his TESTIMONY as a reference and show the Authority and Power of Jesus Christ. I also believe that if you have the opportunity and ability please learn other languages to reach the lost. Here it makes reference that they listen because he spoke to them in Hebrew. Many people that would t give you the time of day will stop and listen just because you spoke in their native tongue!!!! DO EVERYTHING FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!!

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

  20. Then Ananias told me, “The God that our ancestors worshiped has chosen you to know what he wants done. He has chosen you to see the One Who Obeys God and to hear his voice.
    Acts 22:14 CEV

We have been chosen since we were in our mother’s womb. To serve in His KINGDOM for such a time as this!!! And there is billions of more that are being called at this moment and GOD is waiting on you to get up and GO!

For there is no respect of persons with God.
    Romans 2:11 KJV

  21. And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

  22. iLove the Kingdom
4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

As Paul gives his testimony, he reveals to the crowd that he once was a bad guy just like them. He confesses that he persecuted, killed, and imprisoned folk. This crowd should have just opened their hearts and accepted brother Paul. But him being just like them (murderers) did not satisfy them. They wanted him to die! But why? What was the straw that broke the preverbal camels back? What the Jews hated is that Paul is basically telling them that God rejected them and had turned His favor towards the Gentiles. That was unacceptable. The root of the issue was pride as this cut into the pride of their religion.

This is still true today. Folks will listen until their religion is crossed. Lord, open peoples hearts to receive the Word with humility.

The opportunity to testify. I am praying that JESUS reveals to us the importance and value of our testimony. People will listen to a testimony, more often than they will listen to a sermon or even Bible Study.

I encourage and release The POFW church family to share your testimony. Begin today. Someone close to you needs to hear what JESUS has done for you and in your life.

We will witness the greatest Revival and Harvest in our history when we share our testimony. People are hungry and hurting and need HOPE. HOPE is birthed when people hear what JESUS has done for you.

  24. 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Paul’s life was turned upside down and it probably took all those days of being blinded to stop and ponder God and who he is and to deal with the fact that Jesus as Lord spoke to him, the very one he had been denying. Thankfully Ananias was obedient and received Paul, teaching him how Jesus was the Messiah, teaching baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost. Afterward, Paul was a changed man and ready to be used greatly by God. We are also changed when we are born again and can also be a witness of what God has done for us and will do for others.

  25. 10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

Just a few chapters back, it was “ suffer”.

We all have the option as to how we see things. We also have a choice as to how we present them.

I am sure Paul knew that he would loose everyone’s attention if he said suffer, as opposed to to do. I wonder how many times we all loose our testimonies daily, as we speak to others, simply because we Word things incorrectly.

Could it be that Paul’s view had changed. Now he was able to see more of the big picture? What about me? How often do I/ we loose sight of the big picture? Are we really suffering, or is it just uncomfortable? Maybe growing pains?

So many times the fire is to grow us and to get us to focus back on Him.

  26. And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
There is power in your testimony

  27. 10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do

Sometimes the first step is as simple as “arise” or “get up” in order to GO and DO, we must First be Up and Ready!

Micah 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

We’ve all been in a place where we just don’t know what to do, or where to start. And we find ourselves asking God “what do I do?”.

    His reply:
    Get Up, Arise and Go!

It’s when we stop moving that we become an easier target, get up and keep doing what you know to do.

  28. 6 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

Amen! What are you waiting for? What are we waiting for? A lot can happen in these 40 days. We can either sit down and be on the side lines or get up and obey his commandments! Jesus commands us to do certain things and we must get up and obey!

  29. 13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

When I was read this verse I started to wonder, why did Paul need to be blinded? Was Jesus appearing to him and audibly speaking to him not enough for Paul to believe that he is God? Was it just the glory of God so bright that it blinded Paul, being a sinner standing in the holy presence of God?

It could have been both of these things but I believe there a couple of other reasons for it. The first being that Paul needed a moment where he couldn’t rely on his own senses but had to rely on someone us to guide him and show him where to go. Saul had been so set in his Jewish ways that he believed he knew the path and he knew where to go, so he charted his own path, now God needed Paul to follow his path towards Jesus and this led him to the man of God that commissioned him.

The second reason I believe is because God needed to give Paul a new vision. Again Saul was so set in his ways that he believed he knew where he needed to go. His vision needed to be corrected, but in order to do that, his eyes needed to be reset, kinda like when you reboot a computer because something is going wrong with it. God needed to turn off Saul’s vision so that he could give Paul a new vision when he opened his eyes. The vision to preach the gospel of Jesus all around the world.

  30. 27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

God change Paul’s life to do his work and set a fire in him Throught he Holy Ghost. To preach to the Gentiles and everywhere that God lead him.

  31. 10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord?

Don’t Count Anyone Out – Saul was one of the meanest men recorded in the bible, until he had an encounter with the Lord. That encounter changed his life. How many people do we pass each day that we write them off and say it’s no use giving them an invitation, they will never come. Saul was the most unlikely character, but God saw something in him. If we can just see what people would be through the eyes of the Lord it would change our perspective on inviting people to church.

My prayer is that those unlikely people that we know would have a Saul/Paul encounter and become what Jesus wants them to be, so their testimony can be shared all over this region, drawings others just like them to HIM. FIRST THE KINGDOM!

    • Amen Sis. Watts, I was one of them people that someone never gave up on me and kept inviting me every time Claudette had a chance even do I kept saying NO. Till finally we decided to visit the church and both Albert and I had a encounter with God that first time we came to Pofw. Persistence is what makes a difference in someone’s life.

  32. …The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest KNOW his will, and SEE that Just One, and shouldest HEAR the voice of his mouth….
And it came to pass, that…EVEN WHILE I PRAYED in the temple, I was in a trance; And SAW HIM SAYING UNTO ME, Make haste…Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
    Acts 22:14,17‭-‬18‭, ‬21 KJV

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, PETER WENT UP UPON THE HOUSETOP TO PRAY …he fell into a trance, AND SAW heaven opened, …AND THE VOICE SPAKE unto him…
    Acts 10:9‭-‬11‭, ‬15 KJV

And Cornelius said, …I was fasting…and…I PRAYED… and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, …Send…and call hither…Peter…
    Acts 10:30‭-‬32 KJV

The best way to know God’s will, to see Him intervene in your situation, and to hear His voice of guidance in your life is to pray. Prayer is the Apostolic way…the precedence set down before us in the Book of Acts. Consider the following:

    * As they continued in prayer, there came a sound from heaven as a mighty rushing wind (1:14, 2:2).
    * As they were going to prayer, the lame were healed and devils were cast out (3:1-8; 16:16-18).
    * When they prayed, the house was shaken (4:31).
    * And when they prayed, the Word of God increased (6:6-7).
    * Peter and John prayed for the Samaritans, and they Holy Ghost was poured out (8:15-17).
    * As Peter kneeled and prayed, the dead Tabitha was raised (9:40).
    * As they made prayer without ceasing, the captive Peter was set free (12:5-10).
    * As they fasted and prayed, the Holy Ghost appointed missionaries (13:2-3).
    * As Lydia prayed by the riverside, Paul came and told her how to be saved (16:13-15).
    * As they prayed and praised, the earth was shaken and the prison doors were opened (16:25-26).
    * And when Paul prayed, island natives were healed of their diseases (28:8-9).

The record is clear: If you want to be Apostolic, you must pray. If you want the power of God to have its way, if you want the Spirit to be poured out, you must pray. If we want to see healings and deliverances, souls added to the Kingdom, laborers added to the harvest, the dead revived, doors opened for ministry, miracles and signs and wonders restored, dreams and visions and angelic visitations giving direction, devils defeated and cast out, a move of God in our time, 363 filled with the Holy Ghost in 11 weeks…we must pray!

Yes, we need to do more than pray about revival, but we can do no more than pray UNTIL we have prayed! The New Testament Apostolics prayed without ceasing. They “continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers,” (Acts 2:42).

Consequently, there should be no such thing as a prayerless Apostolic. For, it is not doctrine alone that makes us Apostolic; it is following the pattern of their lives as well, and that pattern (according to the verse above) was a constant commitment to studying the Word, coming together in corporate worship, staying in communion with God and others, and prayer.

  33. 17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;

  34. 21“But the Lord said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles!’”

The calling of serving for God. Yes, God will lead you and guide you. Don’t try to serve God, without praying first and confirming with Pastor. You’ll be blessed and enjoy serving that much better!

  35. “Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

No one can tell it like you can. Your experience is your testimony. And no one can convey that message like you can. God has been so good for us not to sure with others

  36. ““But the Lord said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles!’ ” The crowd listened until Paul said that word. Then they all began to shout, “Away with such a fellow! He isn’t fit to live!” They yelled, threw off their coats, and tossed handfuls of dust into the air.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭22:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Throwing dust in the air showed contempt or scorn, and here it might have been a demand for justice born out of intense anger again Paul. The mention of the gentiles stirred up the mob. The real point of contention was that Paul believed Jews and Gentiles were equal apart from the law of Moises.

“And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  37. ““As I arrived on the outskirts of Damascus about noon, a blinding light blazed out of the skies and I fell to the ground, dazed. I heard a voice: ‘Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?’

“‘Who are you, Master?’ I asked. “He said, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, the One you’re hunting down.’ My companions saw the light, but they didn’t hear the conversation.

“Then I said, ‘What do I do now, Master?’ “He said, ‘Get to your feet and enter Damascus. There you’ll be told everything that’s been set out for you to do.’ And so we entered Damascus, but nothing like the entrance I had planned—I was blind as a bat and my companions had to lead me in by the hand.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:6-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The brightness of that light made Paul blind. In persecuting Jesus he was spiritually blind, and then he was also physically blind – and had to be humbly be led by the hand into the city of Damascus.

  38. Acts 22:15 (AMP), “For you will be His witness to all men testifying of what you have seen and heard.”

We all have a Testimony to share of what JESUS has done in our life.
    “GO” share your Testimony!

  40. “And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
A powerful testimony. One that is even hard to believe. God used Paul in such a mighty way that. But the story of Paul is unusual. Even today I don’t think that we would have a easy time believing a man that did so much hate to us be converted. Why is our faith weak nowadays

  41. 3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

This is how every person who has a come to JESUS moment starts to recall all we’ve done and then WOW ALL THINGS ARE MADE NEW!!! EVERY SIN ERASED and although not everyone will hear GOD through you but they will surely see it just like the others that were with Paul!!! SHINE ON!!!

  42. What came to me in this chapter was when Jesus and Saul had this conversation……

8-9 “‘Who are you, Master?’ I asked.

“He said, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, the One you’re hunting down.’ My companions saw the light, but they didn’t hear the conversation.

10-11 “Then I said, ‘What do I do now, Master?’

    (Message Version Bible gateway)

“He said, ‘Get to your feet and enter Damascus. There you’ll be told everything that’s been set out for you to do.’ And so we entered Damascus, but nothing like the entrance I had planned—I was blind as a bat and my companions had to lead me in by the hand.

What I got out of this chapter was that Saul trusted Jesus, and that Jesus told him to go to Damascus And he and he did. Jesus also told him when he got there he would be given instructions to do. Some of us and some people in the Bible sometimes question Jesus, like why and other questionable words. BUT IF WE HAD THE TRUST AND CONFIDENCE OF GOD TO DO IT THE FIRST TIME WITHOUT QUESTIONS WE WOULD BE LEAD TO GOOD PLACES AND THINGS TO DO FOR HIS WORK. WE ALWAYS HAVE A TRUST JESUS HE KNOWS THE BEST FOR US, AND ALL OF US HAVE A PART OF HIS PLAN. TRUST JESUS ALWAYS POFW!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

  43. 14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He has chosen you, He has chosen me. Before we were even born, we were chosen for a purpose; His purpose.

Though we may be undeserving, we are chosen! Chosen to do His Will and be a witness to others.

  44. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

This passage of scripture, like many other passages, shows how when God is leading us and we obey his instructions, He will always provide for His chosen either by shelter, food, clothing, healing and no obstacle can stand in our paths. Thank you Jesus for your saving POWER!!!

  45. Thank you Jesus for everything you have done in my life. Lord i would still be lost wondering around in this world if i hadnt have turned to you. Thank you Jesus for the people you have placed in my life. The friends the family you have givin me. Jesus thank you for your forgivness thank you for your mercy and above all thank you for loving me.

13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

We are blinded when we are living a life of this world. We recieve our sight when we are born again in Christ. We could also look at this as sometimes we need to be humbled a little so that we may be uplifted.

  46. Ur testimony is powerfull,

just like Paul’s testimony had an impact in alot of life’s, how after been a persecutor of christians, is amaizing how after God called him and choose him God did somthing amaizing with him, God used Paul’s influence, power knowledge, his studies etc to change many people for his kingdom

The way i see my testimony when i share it with others is funy that i can’t remember anyone ever asking me for the evidences for the resurrection or a list of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus or examples of intelligent design in our physical universe. But I can remember several instances when someone inquired about “how I became christian or how the world says it u became religious.”

People want to hear about my experiences more than my convictions. Perhaps that’s due to our experience-obsessed culture. Or maybe it’s always been the case that people like to compare their lives with others.

I think, at one point, I stopped presenting evidences, arguments, and proofs and only offered experiences. That was, after all, what people had asked for. I was even told by older Christians, “People might reject your arguments, but they can never deny your testimony.” Remarkably, however, they did deny my testimony—-quite regularly. They dismissed it with the imbibed mantra, “What is true for you is not true for me.”

  47. 29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

  48. :6 And it came to pass that as I made. My journey and was come night unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light about me.
    ——
This is the miraculous, and God still want to do it in our present life.
According to your faith, shall be do me.
Paul was predestine. And so we are

  49. 10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

God will put us in certain circumstances that will place us to where Jesus wants us to be. If we stop resisting Jesus and let God be the God in our lives, he won’t have to put us in those circumstances.

Let’s obey God’s voice the FIRST time!

  50. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
    Acts 22:16 KJV
I recently heard a preacher say it doesn’t matter if you are baptized or how you are baptized because you are saved by Jesus’ death on the cross. My mind went to the Scriptures like this one that clearly says baptism is more than a outward ceremony. Verses like Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:20-21, Mark 16:16 and Gal. 3:27 all stating baptism’s role in salvation and washing away our sins.

  51. 28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

Paul has a unique testimony. He used to be just like the people he testifies before. He was a devout Jew, persecuting the Christians. He has repented of his old ways, now he teaches others, but still remains a Roman. We too, are apart of this privilege as American citizens, we have freedoms most countries do not. We have the opportunity to share the same testimony with the lost, freely even, for we have the freedom of speech. That same zeal Paul had can be ours.

  52. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭22:5-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Share your testimony

Something that you may have told 1000 times could be the very thing that gives someone hope in their own salvation. As I begin to read over Pauls testimony I started to reflect back on mine and conviction set upon me because I’m not sharing it like I should. Your testimony is just as powerful as any other but when you let Jesus move through you while sharing it then people are gonna see the change. People are gonna feel Jesus. Share your testimony in Jesus name.

  53. 17 And it came to pass, that when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance ;
    18. And saw him saying saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

Beautiful testimony of Paul, he saw Jesus himself and heard his voice, and was completely convinced about seeing God. He was a devout of the Lord and the Law with jealousy and devolution even to persecute disciples. When he saw and heard the Lord. He never doubted or thought : Who is calling me is Jesus(son), or the father. He immediately knew Jesus was God,(Jehovah). He knew it was the Lord of Abraham and the Lord of creation. Paul understand that the Lord Jesus Christ was the Lord of Lords. Aleluya!

  54. ““Brothers and esteemed fathers,” Paul said, “listen to me as I offer my defense.” When they heard him speaking in their own language, the silence was even greater. Then Paul said, “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, and I was brought up and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel. As his student, I was carefully trained in our Jewish laws and customs. I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just like all of you today.”
    ‭‭

  55. 22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,

24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.

We are going to have people in our lives say we are no good and that we are crazy because we live for God but the only judge we ever need to worry about is God what he thinks of us that’s why when things go wrong we need to encourage ourselves in him and not worry about other opinions

  56. 28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

Born of the water And the spirit I am free in deed. Jesus paid the ultimate price for my freedom and salvation it’s up to me and myself and I did choose the path of holiness, righteousness, and faith in God. But I was free born when I was born again I am free in deed. When God speaks we have to take heed to his word we need to listen to the voice of God because he is for us not against us freedom Is found in the Almighty God

  57. “For you are to be his witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard.”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭22:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Each of us are witnesses of Christ Jesus. It is a privilege and a honor telling someone that hasn’t seen what you seen or heard about the gospel and that’s our testimony. We are saved by the blood of the Lamb, and the Word of our testimony.

  58. v 22: 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all.men of what thou hast seen and heard.

We have been empowered to become witnesses of Jesus.

  59. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

It’s crazy, how God will stop you dead in your foot tracks, when you’re doing wrong. This scripture not only shows the power of God, but it even shows for Saul to claim to not know who Jesus was and was killing Christians for proclaiming that Jesus was The Messiah, he knew to call him Lord when he was blinded and knocked down. “EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW AND EVER TONGUE SHALL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD” #AMEN

  60. God’s Choice of a Witness v.14-21
Acts 22:14,15 And he said, The God of our father’s hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

Gal.1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Gal.1:15 But when it please God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

The apostle’s gospel is genuine, because it was given directly from the risen Lord.

We must hear the voice of God, be a witness and testify every where we go and preach the gospel to our City of Ft.Worth

  61. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

We know that there is tremendous power in the Word of God. And every seed will return with fruit. There is no substitute for God’s Words and instructions. In them we find victory and keys to find eternal life. However there is one thing with which people can relate and connect on a human level with, that is your testimony. It a powerful and wonderful tool God gives you for each is unique bit can speak to many lives. We always ought to tell what God has done in our lives.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
    Revelation 12:11 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/rev.12.11.KJV

  62. “And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.”

Many see the light ofJesus but cannot heat Jus voice. It’s a very sad place to live yet my prayer today is that the people if this region will have open eyes, open ears, and receptive hearts. It’s not enough to see the light but we must see and hear the light in order to become the light.

  63. “The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He’s not fit to live!””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:22‬ ‭NIV

There will always be people ready to cast judgement on you because they can’t understand why you’ve chosen to live your life in a way that’s pleasing to Him. If you read further, we find that Paul is spared from being flogged because he is a Roman citizen, more particularly a born Roman citizen. There’s power in being OF God not just ASSOCIATED with him.

  64. In this chapter Paul is a true witness. He tells many people at once his testimony. He tells his testimony knowing that there may be consequences to follow with his insightful speech. (No pun intended). After telling his testimony to the people he does actually face those reprocussions. He then in the midst of this very alarming and stressful situation he seems to stay extremely calm. I don’t know that I would have reacted equally. These are traits we should aspire to have more of.

  65. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

Perhaps the highlight of this chapter for me is found in verse 6. It mentions a great light shone from heaven. The power of the creator is fascinating, as one portion of scripture states that he is the light of that city. But rather the more interesting is the magnitude of his power, it makes me think how if we obtain his spirit within us we ought to light the ambiance of every place we go. As reflection of his spirit living on the inside it must show on the outside.

However, it also makes me think, how the flesh always roars against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh. If not careful these elements can hinder that great light to be shown to a point that I am no longer a living testimony, because the flesh has not been on the alter for a while. Before I open my mouth to testify or witness, when viewed upon by the recipient that light of his power ought to be so shining bright that his glory and power residing on the inside is what 1st speaks, that’s a true living testimony. And when I do open my mouth the words that I speak should be divinely directed by the Holy Ghost.

Those that were with Saul witnessed that light and were afraid. What power, what authority. But we have this treasure in earthen vessel that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.

The power on the inside, the Holy Ghost and fire, the word of God that is quick and powerful, what should we fear? Nothing!
