Acts 24

And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,

Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

10 Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

11 Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

17 Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

18 Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

19 Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

20 Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

23 And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

26 He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

27 But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

  1. “You can quickly discover that I arrived in Jerusalem no more than twelve days ago to worship at the Temple. My accusers never found me arguing with anyone in the Temple, nor stirring up a riot in any synagogue or on the streets of the city. These men cannot prove the things they accuse me of doing. “But I admit that I follow the Way, which they call a cult. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets. I have the same hope in God that these men have, that he will raise both the righteous and the unrighteous. Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people. “After several years away, I returned to Jerusalem with money to aid my people and to offer sacrifices to God. My accusers saw me in the Temple as I was completing a purification ceremony. There was no crowd around me and no rioting. But some Jews from the province of Asia were there—and they ought to be here to bring charges if they have anything against me! Ask these men here what crime the Jewish high council found me guilty of, except for the one time I shouted out, ‘I am on trial before you today because I believe in the resurrection of the dead!’””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:11-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Paul pled his case. Sometimes after telling the truth you still are in the same spot but there is always a reason or purpose for it just pray and seek God for the answer.

  2. When the accusers stood up, they brought no charge in his case of such evils as I supposed. Rather they had certain points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive. Being at a loss how to investigate these questions, I asked whether he wanted to go to Jerusalem and be But when Paul had appealed to be kept in custody for the decision of the emperor, I ordered him to be held until I could send him to Caesar.” Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like to hear the man myself.” “Tomorrow,” said he, “you will hear him.”

And Festus said, “King Agrippa and all who aman about whom the whole Jewish people petitioned me, both in Jerusalem and here, shouting that he ought not to live any longer. But I found that he had done nothing deserving death. And as he himself appealed to the emperor, I decided to go ahead and send him. But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that, after we have examined him, I may have something to write. For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against him.”re present with us, you see thisman about whom the whole Jewish people petitioned me, both in Jerusalem and here, shouting that he ought not to live any longer. For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against him.”

I’m sure Paul wanted to give in to the flesh at times. Can you imagine being of accused of a crime and knowing that no matter whether you could prove if you were guilty you would be thrown into jail. God always makes a way of escape if we will just step out in faith with boldness.

  3. 24:12 And they neither found me me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogue, nor in the city:
Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.———

Got to be very careful how one follower of Christ witness
To others, Stand your ground, follow truth, preach it , show it through the life you live.
So that when “they”( opponents)unbelievers, say
    something will be a shame
    All glory got God.

  5. 27After two years went by in this way, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And because Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jewish people, he left Paul in prison. NLT

This is exactly what the truth beaters are facing today, falseness of accusations that our doctrine is becoming racist against a generation of vipers that the Bible obviously calls sin. Many today think that the truth comes from an attack on those that we hate and as Christians we are a cult that believes in the anialation of the sinful. As apostolic believers of the truth and the word of God, we have to face these accusations to bear witness as Jesus faced the senseless accusations from those that crucified him. The scripture states that whoso ever will save his life will surely lose it and those that will lose their life for His sake, shall surely gain eternal life.

I am a firm believer that this selfish generation will simply get worse and the only hope for the church will be for a quick return of Jesus to rapture his bride. We can not sit idle and allow our mission to become a less priority than seeking the kingdom of God first. We have to make sure that we heed the word of God and push for the end time revival by God’s spirit being poured out. Even when it becomes most difficult we still need to push forward.

    I love the Kingdom!

  6. 26 He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

27 But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

Popularity VS Faith. You see it all the time specially youth, sometimes they give in because they want to be accepted of the popular kids and do things that they really don’t believe in because they want to be popular!!!! Be an individual, stand up in your Faith, be different, be real!!!!!! Fashion, popularity will change but the word of God NEVER CHANGES its stands fast!!!! 1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

  7. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    ETERNAL HOPE

15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

Passion or FIRE is fueled by HOPE. HOPE is a motivator. HOPE is a joy. The apostle addresses the Christian reality of HOPE for Eternal Life in Christ JESUS.

JESUS is the Way, Truth and Life. JESUS is our HOPE for Eternal LIFE in Christ JESUS. The Born Again believer has advantage in JOY in this life because of our ETERNAL HOPE in the life to come with JESUS.

1Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

ETERNAL HOPE is our Passion for sharing our testimony.

Have a Blessed Friday sharing your testimony.

  8. 25. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

There are far too many people that plan to wait for a more convenient season to do what they know is right that will never see that season come.

    2 Corinthians 6:2
For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. NLT

  9. When he spoke about upright behavior, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became fearful and said, “Go away for now! When I have time, I’ll send for you.” At the same time, he was hoping that Paul would offer him some money, so he often sent for him and talked with him. When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. Since Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison.

    Opportunity

We normally focus on the fact that Felix dismissed Paul and missed an opportunity to receive the Gospel, but it says Paul was left imprisoned for two years. There he spoke with Felix often. Bible study! We know Paul would be ministering to Felix while he was in bonds. So it could very well be that behind the scenes Felix could have been receiving a Bible study. I pray that happens throughout the government systems of our world. Bold, but loving men and women are given special pass to the inner most chambers of the ruling systems of this world. There they can share the most precious news of Jesus Christ with the leaders of this world. Jesus name. Thank you, Lord. What looked like a hiccup (two year imprisonment) became a GREAT opportunity that no one else could have taken. Jesus, You truly are a God of opportunity!

  10. Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess. He sent for Paul and listened to him talk about faith in Christ Jesus. But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control [honorable behavior, personal integrity], and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, “Go away for now, and when I find [a convenient] time I will send for you.” At the same time he was also hoping to get money from Paul [as a bribe]; so he continued to send for him quite often and talked with him. But after two years had passed, Felix was succeeded [in office] by Porcius Festus; and wishing to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul imprisoned.

    Type, erase, type erase,

He didnt like the truth, and that seems to be a pattern, he’s lover of to many different things, and he thinks that by sending Paul away, it will change, we can deny the truth, we can pull our blinders up and live life like there is no consequence for our actions, or we can change! The only reason he talked to Paul is for the hope of money, and when that didnt pan out he went else where!
Lord I just want to GO, where you want me to go and do what you said do, let your WORD LIVE IN ME!
WHEN I THINK OF THE GOODNESS OF JESUS, AND ALLLL HE HAS DONE FOR ME! MY SOUL CRIES OUT, HALLELUJAH THANK GOD FOR SAVING ME!

  11. 25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Serving for convenience. We just heard how dangerous this is. We cannot just call God near when we think we need Him because honest truth, we need Him everyday and every hour. We need relationship with Him.

When people don’t want to hear the truth; they will try to come up with something to accuse you of. That is what happened with Paul; he spoke the truth and was charged with heresy.

    her·e·sy
    /ˈherəsē/
    noun
belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Christian) doctrine.

Heresy (/ˈhɛrəsi/) is any belief or theory that is strongly at variance with established beliefs or customs, in particular the accepted beliefs of a church or religious organization. A heretic is a proponent of such claims or beliefs.

The people claim that the way we believe goes against what they want. That’s just it though. It’s not about truth; it’s not about eternal life; it’s how does it benefit me right here right now. Do I have what I want: I hear the words, but why is nothing happening. That is the thought process of the world. I know He’s and on time God; everything that happens is on His clock. I can punch in or just toss my timecard. Paul kept God’s word and preached it until his last breath. Lord help me this day to preach your word and seek after the lost of this world. I thank you for this time and this now.

  13. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

When conviction is on someone, they should yield to the Lord not put it off for another day, as that day may never come.

  14. And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, FELIX TREMBLED, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
    Acts 24:24‭-‬26 KJV

There is an old song that goes:

Often times my heart has been stirred by the things that I have heard,
About so many who have never heard God’s word,
And though tears would fill my eyes all to soon
I’d realize though my hearts been stirred my life has not been changed.

    Chorus:

I’m so tired of being stirred about the lost who need to hear.
    I’m so tired of being stirred that His coming is so near;
I’m so tired of being stirred till I cry bitter tears.
I’m so tired of being stirred but not being changed.”

Have I heard it for so long that He’s just another song?
Has the story lost its thrill that I once knew?
Lord, give me a burden that’s so strong,
That it will last when my tears are gone.
I’m tired of what I’ve been. Lord, make me over again.

    Chorus

But this time Lord change me let the work begin just now,
This time Lord change me please change me some how,
This time Lord change me let my life be rearranged,
For I’m so tired of being stirred but not being changed.

This could be Felix’s theme song. He trembled at the Word, but walked away unchanged. He chose money over truth. He chose favor over righteousness.

All too often, this can be my theme song as well. Good preaching stirs up good intentions, but life gets in the way as soon as I hit the door. I don’t mean to choose other things. I’m sincere in my desire to change; but unless change is moved upon right away, it just seems to get lost in the busyness of life.

Experts say that unless you institute a change within 24 hours of making the decision, you are more likely not to follow through than to actually do so. We can’t trust our hearts. We can’t allow ourselves to wait for “a convenient season.” When God moves on our hearts, we need to respond immediately, lest we again are stirred but not changed.

  15. 22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

Some people have a desire to know God more, but when it comes to putting it into action, they don’t follow through, just like Felix. Obviously there was something stirred in him after Paul spoke that he would bring this wife and call for Paul to expound more to them, but yet wasn’t willing to pay the price to have what Paul spoke about.

Some peoples convenient season never comes around, thanks to the enemy. The enemy will do everything in his power to ensure that people are too busy to do they desire for the Kingdom of God. We must put that deceiver in his place, and bring the Kingdom of God to the forefront of our lives, that His Kingdom is FIRST.

This old song came to my mind today as I read this chapter:

I never thought I’d see the day, when you came to kneel and pray
I never thought that I would see, the church-house filled to capacity
And outside the door there’s more, who have never come before
Oh what a shame that Jesus came, one day before

And you came one day too late, yes, just one day too late
Jesus came and you’ve been left behind to wait
Yesterday you couldn’t find time for Jesus on your mind
You finally came to call His name, one day too late

You tried to live the best you could, you tried to do the things you should
But when it came to serving God, you said, “I still have time to wait”
Now it’s all turned around, time for Jesus now you’ve found
How sad to think that you found the time, but one day too late

  16. But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

  17. Acts Chapter 24 verse 14-15
14.so after the way I had confess unto thee so the worship fathers of the god were believing things that were written in the prophets and the law
    15. And having hope for god, which they should allow for themselves so there should be a resurrection of the dead for the unjust and just

  18. 10 The governor then motioned for Paul to speak. Paul said, “I know, sir, that you have been a judge of Jewish affairs for many years, so I gladly present my defense before you.

Confess your defense, or in other words, confess your testimony. When others here your testimony, it can make a difference in their lives. Let them know how God has changed your, how you’ve been blessed, how you’ve been healed, how your relationship with God has grown, how much more your encouraged by the Word.

  19. iLove the Kingdom

Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

Once again we see the same scenario. He’s following the law perfectly until he talks about the resurrection from the dead. Once he talks about something that goes against the Sadducees is when he gets arrested. The same religious spirits foam at the mouth today. It seems as if people would accept the truth, but pride is a force that is beyond reason.

  20. 13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

People are going to lie about us. We cannot escape accusations. The Bible tells us to let not our good be spoken evil of which is an indication that people are looking for something bad to say to us and about us but we must forge ahead being careful that we do not fall into the traps so easily. God will always stand his ground with us as long as we guard our lives with his blood.

  21. 10 Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
11 Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

As I have grown in my faith through the years, i have found many dont understand why, we do what we do. Why we go to church so often, why we are so involved in serving other, why why why… What people dont understand ,usually scares them. This gosple is not to be scary, but rather be uplifting to the knowledge that Jesus forgave us and that we may have eternal life through Him. When the light from the fire on our altars shines, people will ask, what is the difference? We must seek after the answers for ourselves in the scriptures, and share whatbwe know with others. No matter your age, race, male or female, God can use you to shine forth His Light for His Kingdom.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

  22. 24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Many have good intentions, but fail to follow through.

We may have the good intent to pray, read the Bible, or go to outreach, but today, right now? well it’s just not convenient. So we use the excuse; “I’ll go when I have more time or when I’m not so busy”

If we insist on waiting till a more convenient time to serve Jesus, we will be waiting for eternity. An eternity spent separated from God.

There is no time like the present for “now is the day of salvation”.

  23. Acts 24

24 Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.a 25 As Paul talked about righteousness, self-controlb and the judgmentc to come, Felix was afraidd and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”

    Keep Sowing the Seed !
We may and have already encountered those we have spoken truth to ;will say” I’ll call you back “.
Some may call others may not. We cannot feel that our efforts for the Kingdom are not being productive. Felix uses two words here convient and time . Society we live in today nothing is ever convenient and no one has enough time. We must continue to plant the seed through testimonies and sharing the Gospel……we cannot even inspect the soil if it will germinate. But this is why the fire on our altar must never burn out for we can water each seed with intercession, with tears before God praying that somewhere in someone the seed will take root into their heart. Keep sowing the seed believing there will be a harvest. In Jesus name.

Matthew 13. A story Jesus told

“A farmer went out to sow seed. 4 While he was scattering the seed, some of it fell by the road. The birds came and ate all that seed. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where there was not enough dirt. It grew very fast there, because the soil was not deep. 6 But when the sun rose, it burned the plants. The plants died because they did not have deep roots. 7 Some other seed fell among thorny weeds. The weeds grew and stopped the good plants from growing.

    Keep Sowing the Seed
8 But some of the seed fell on good ground. There it grew and made grain. Some plants made 100 times more grain, some 60 times more, and some 30 times more. 9 You people who hear me, listen!”

  24. Buttering up Felix

You know that someone is full of it when they start their conversation with flatteries and boastings. This is just a bunch of empty words that are meant to push you in whatever direction that the proton wants you to go or think. In business I learned the hard way to cut through all that non sense and get to the facts quickly or I will be wasting my time. Anyone who will fill your ears full of these things cannot be trusted. This is why this word says to buy the truth and sell it not. It’s not that the word can even be sold in the monetary since but don’t use it along with enticing words to get what you want. Let us cut through the mess and get to the Truth.

  25. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
    Acts 24:25 KJV

Felix was obviously under conviction when he trembled at Paul’s testimony. Paul did no miracle, sign, or wonder; it was just the power of his words that cut to the heart of Felix. Felix had his moment to respond to God; but instead, he put it off for a convenient season. We never read of Felix getting another opportunity to respond to the conviction of God.

The Bible says to seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. We never know if or when we will get another chance to acknowledge His presence. Lord, help us to keep our hearts tender and our spirits sensitive to His Spirit’s leading in our lives and not put it off for another time.

  26. 24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

Drusilla being a Jew was ministered to by Paul as she & Felix came together to hear him. Paul no doubt was mindful of her needs as well as her husband’s regarding salvation. We don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but we know Paul taught Jesus was the Messiah using the scriptures and prophecies that support that, like he did everywhere he went.

  27. Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have convenient season, I will call for thee.

Don’t put off God till a convenient season, rarely does that come. Felix never found the right moment. God says “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

    The Day of Salvation
2 Corinthians 6:2 ( For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

  28. 5 “We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect 6 and even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him.

Sometimes in the midst of doing the right thing, it can be used to test and even flip your life upside down! We have to trust Jesus, as we know He is the Creator just as Paul did. As we continue to read, we learn that Paul defends himself with the facts.

Trust Him and allow His Will to be Done!

  29. “After two years went by in this way, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And because Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jewish people, he left Paul in prison.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Felix had the chance to turn to Christ one of those many days he called for Paul, but he didn’t accept the invitation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why not? It seems to me that his position of power and leadership meant more to him than the condition of his soul.

  30. 5 “We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect 6 and even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him.

We have to be able to trust and allow God’s will to work through and in our lives even when it seems that the whole world is against us, even when we are doing right and what was asked of us.

  31. 12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
20 Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day

When you done are you know to do just stand the Lord will see you through. Never give up in trying to reach the loss through your testimony.

When you done are you noted you just stand God will see you through. Never give up reaching the lost and give your testimony.

  32. Proverbs 24:1-9 (KJV) Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

  33. “And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭24:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬
A convenient season. Jesus don’t let my heart be like this don’t let my mind refuse the greatness of the Gospel.
I don’t understand people that refuse the gospel. People knowingly that God is true and real. That God has delivered you and set you free from drug addiction and lust. But still people neglect him. Mercy Jesus

  34. we have the same love as outher people and jesus dose for us😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

  35. I’m this chapter…..

2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,

3 We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

They were talking about how good it were the deed someone has done. We should be considerate like this to our church family so they will feel appreciated. COMPLEMENT POFW!!!😁😁😁😁

  36. 13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Whenever times of trials come and the accusers is standing over us and reminding us of our past we must point to the cross and remind him that God has washed away our past and God is stronger than the accuser.

  37. Acts 24:22 & 24-25 (NLT)
    22) At that point Felix, who was quite familiar with the Way, adjourned the hearing and said, Wait until Lysias, the garrison commander, arrives. Then I will decide the case.

    24) A few days later Felix came back with his wife, Drusilla, who was Jewish. Sending for Paul, they listened as he told them about faith in Jesus Christ.
    25) As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. Go away for now, he replied. When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.

As I read these verses, the thought that came to me was, “What a procrastinator (someone who puts off doing something) Felix is.”
He “put off” making a decision about Paul until Lysias came, and he “put off” making a decision to live for Christ until a “more convenient season” came.

The problem is, most people who procrastinate “put off” making a decision to live for Christ, usually come to the place where they cannot make a decision to live for Him at all.

  38. I Love To Worship The Lord

    24:14-16 (The real cause)
Paul is hated because of his commitment to Jesus, even though his faith is in total agreement with the teachings of the O.T. which both groups honor in common.
If you’re going to be persecuted, make sure you are persecuted for your commitment to Jesus rather than for doing wrong. A clear conscience is a basis for confidence when you are under attack.

  39. “He also hoped that Paul would bribe him, so he sent for him quite often and talked with him. After two years went by in this way, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And because Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jewish people, he left Paul in prison.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In a way, people like Felix and Pilate are the guiltiest of those who reject Jesus Christ. They know what is right but refuse to do right purely out of the fear of man. They have an eternally fatal lack of courage.

  41. 11 That night the Master appeared to Paul: “It’s going to be all right. Everything is going to turn out for the best. You’ve been a good witness for me here in Jerusalem. Now you’re going to be my witness in Rome!”

12-15 Next day the Jews worked up a plot against Paul. They took a solemn oath that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed him. Over forty of them ritually bound themselves to this murder pact and presented themselves to the high priests and religious leaders. “We’ve bound ourselves by a solemn oath to eat nothing until we have killed Paul. But we need your help. Send a request from the council to the captain to bring Paul back so that you can investigate the charges in more detail. We’ll do the rest. Before he gets anywhere near you, we’ll have killed him. You won’t be involved.”(Message Version Bible gateway) 5-23-2019

In this chapter I think that the Jews were angry so They thought it was just better to kill p they thought it was just better to kill Paul. But that is never the right way. You should always go to god about it!

  42. 5 “We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect

The world sees us a trouble makers not being able to stay silent about God and it’s true! We need to be speaking about his glory and we can turn this world upside down! They may see it as chaotic but we see it as revival! The lost becoming found and this world being changed turning towards him! Let them see him in us!

  43. “As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/act.24.25.nlt

It’s sad that this is the way our world sees it. They want to receive the truth when it’s more convenient. The truth is there will never be a convenient time for them to hear the word but it will always be a necessity. We need the word in us every day, every opportunity and chance that comes we should speak the name of Jesus and watch God move in the situation. I love it. Pray for the Lost to see it convenient to hear the Gospel.

  44. 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self control, and the judgment to come , Fleix was afraid and answered , go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Tomorrow just might be too late.

  45. Five days later, the high priest Ananias, some of the council elders, and a lawyer named Tertullus come up to Caesarea.
When the hearing begins, Tertullus accuses Paul of being an outside agitator who has come in and said blasphemous and profane things in the temple. That’s serious business.
Paul defends himself to the governor. This better be good.
He tells the governor that no one in the temple saw him arguing or teaching about Jesus (it’s true—he was just there performing his fancy ritual). In other words, the charges against him are straight-up lies.
Paul admits that he is a follower of Jesus, but he’s also a Jew who believes in God and the authority of Jewish law and the prophets and all that good stuff. Jesus is just the natural continuation of all this.
Paul explains that when he was in the temple just minding his own business and not upsetting anyone, some Jews from Asia came along and had him arrested. Basically, this whole shebang is bogus.
    Felix Wastes Paul’s Time
The governor, Felix, actually knows quite a bit about Jesus, so he tells Paul he’ll decide what’s going to happen when Claudius Lysias stops by. He also gives Paul some freedom in jail because, apparently, he’s cool like that.
A few days later, Felix and his wife Drusilla (who happens to be Jewish) send for Paul and ask him to tell them a little more about this Jesus fellow. Paul obliges. Jesus is his favorite subject after all.
Over the course of two years, Felix keeps Paul in jail, but keeps talking to him every once in a while about Jesus. Felix isn’t very convinced. In fact, he thinks that one of these days Paul will offer him a bribe to get out of jail. But Paul never does. He’s so honest.
When Felix retires and a new governor, Porcius Festus, takes over, Paul is still locked up.

    God allways has a pourpose
Just like felix and his wife, there is allways people that r gona b in the midle of the storm in the trial, in tribulation to let us know he is in control

  46. v25 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Paul gave us insight into the hope that born-again believers possess their own personal resurrection at the second coming of Jesus. Those.who have died in Christ will arise from the grave, and those who are alive will ascend with them to meet the Lord in the air .
    What a great promise!!! 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

  47. But I confess this to you, that according to the Way, which they call a [divisive and heretical] sect, I do worship and serve the God of our fathers, [confidently] believing everything that is in accordance with the Law [of Moses] and that is written in the Prophets; having [the same] hope in God which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of [the dead], both of the righteous and of the wicked.
    ACTS 24:14‭-‬15 AMP

Right on man! I aint done nothing wrong. I still keep and charish the law. I still love the God of my father’s i never stopped. I just simply belive in the Way and not your way. Its just really good stuff. Thankyou Jesus! You are the Way!

  48. 13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Acquisitions come in like fiery darts you know it could be an accusation that you are a sinner and yes we are all sinners saved by grace alone we’re living a holy Sanctified life God knows what we’re doing He don’t need others yelling what we’re doing. Our lives need to be centered around the truth of who God is you know we we need to know who got it we don’t know who our father is How can we relate to him and talk to him and love him. God will never condemn us. But accusations are condemnation. Jesus name

  49. which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

  50. 25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Convenient seasons are a dangerous place to hide, yet so many of us hang out there, way too long. We stay there with our, prayer, our fasting, our worship, even our evangelism. Unfortunately many hang out there when considering baptism. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. We must fight past the desire to stay in wait for a convenient season, and give our all, when He asks.

  51. Acts, chapter 24. In this chapter Paul still trying to defend him self, From the religion leaders that think that they knowing the Moises law, But the main accusations is about that resurrection, This people but they totally forgot to read the bible, verse 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets, Paul he knew prophecy and the law, Not like a lots of teachers and preachers in to days day, they think that can preach but they totally forgot to read the bible, in the book of DANIEL, Chapter 12 verse 13 But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shall rest, or die , and stand in thy lot the end of the days, There are so many of this prophecies one more, in HOSEA chapter 6 verse 1 and 2 COME, AND LETS US, return unto the Lord; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up,After two days will he revive us; in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight, But this prophecies is not for every one to understand, DANIEL chapter 12 verse 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand,

  52. Just as Paul there will be accusers that will try to discourage us. Yet God has called us to agree with out advisory quickly. There accusations are built on hatred so they will not stand long. As w endure and become empowered by God They will fail.

  53. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Many people now a days take this approach, when its convenient for them. When it all feels good, when nothing steps in your toes and you dont have to do much work for it…when its convenient. Yet
the message will be delivered and the invitation given. Now the door it is still open. The bible says seek the Lord while he may he found. He didnt promise to make it convenient in our lives. He did however said that he would be with us even till the end of the world.

  54. “After two years went by in this way, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And because Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jewish people, he left Paul in prison.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our focus should be on pleasing the Lord not man. It doesn’t matter who we please if it doesn’t please God. The only thing that’s going to last is what we do for Christ. It’s the best investment we could make.

“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  55. 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Paul continously confessed his faith in Jesus Christ publicly, and spoke what was to come on judgement day for the sinners and the saints.
I love his faith and how he never wavered, believing everything that was written in the scriptures and the prophets of God.
I’m praying that we ALL have a faith like Paul in the midst of trials, tribulations, and persecution to still confess Jesus as Lord. And to remember in the days of adversity, that we hold on to our faith, even if it is as small as a mustard seed.
    #GodBless

  56. “By examining him yourself you will be able to learn the truth about all these charges we are bringing against him.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭24:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Those that were bringing charges against Paul wanted the governor to observe Paul and see what they were saying was true, they didn’t want him to just take their word for it. That’s exactly the way it is with God and his word. It’s not enough to take somebody else’s word about what God can do, has done, or even who he is. We have to step away from others and create our own opinion and observations, other wise we really have no idea what people are referring to.

  57. 25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
26 He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

He reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgement to come. He trembled and then answered. After reasoning he knew exactly how he should and should not do.

  58. “Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭24:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

It’s so important to value our relationship with Christ and take it serious always. This will help us keep a clear conscience like Paul. We need our minds focused and not distracted of the worldly things that surround us each day. We should always be praying for others and things that pertain to the kingdom of God.

  59. In this chapter, we see Felix dilly dallying around what he knows should be done. He himself had been stirred by Paul’s testimony; but, rather chose to be political than to do what was right. As the song “The Heart of Worship” says:

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
    And it’s all about You
    It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made
    When it’s all about You
    It’s all about You, Jesus
