Acts 28

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  1. v28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

God never intended that anyone should keep salvation to himself, but that we would share it with the world.

  2. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

There are opportunities everywhere to bring the gospel to the people. If we would pray for God to open up our eyes and their hearts that we would see and feel what God is wanting to do through us, I believe that God would show us many opportunities to do just that. Paul used every chance he could to tell his story about what he went through and now he came to know Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that God opens up doors and windows to be a witness to people it’s just a matter of us being able to discern and see them the way God does.

  3. 7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed

Even though Paul was going through this journey having to prove himself, it didn’t matter he still healed others. Through his whole journey his #1 priority was always God he never took his eyes off of God.

  4. 24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

We can’t control who is going to believe what we tell them and who won’t – if everyone didn’t believe Paul, what makes us think everyone is going to believe us? Our job isn’t to figure that out; our job is to tell everyone we can, and then it is up to them.

  5. Acts 28 : 26 [Amp] Go to this people and say to them. You will indeed hear and hear with your ears but will not understand , and you will indeed look and look with your eyes but not see [ not perceive , have knowledge of or become acquainted with look at all]. Paul was telling the message of salvation to others. He was healing them by God. There so many people in region of Ft. Worth that we need to reach. Go forth and teach as many as you can. I pray today that people will open there heart’s and minds to hear the word of the Lord.

  6. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Sometimes people tend to think if I just say this or do that I can save humanity. Well guess what; you can’t do it on your own. Not all will be saved: it even speaks of that in the bible.

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
    John 10:16 KJV

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
    Revelation 14:1 KJV

We cannot save all of mankind, but we can reach out to as many as possible. To save one soul is just as the shepherd going after the one stray sheep. We can talk to people till we’re blue in the face, but guess what’s going to happen. They are either going to take you seriously or not. God gave us freedom to choose; there are going to be a lot of lost souls; cause even as a church body we can only do so much. Brother Hill put it right. We can’t control who’s going to believe and who’s not. We can just keep going till God calls us home. Pastor said that’s the day the doors close. Lord lead me today that I may find one soul; give me the boldness to speak to them about Your truth. I thank you Jesus for my life today.

We can tell them the WORD, we can teach the bible studies, thay can even get baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, if they choose not to stay, we can pray for them, reach out to them, and if they say their coming back, and they dont, there is absolutely nothing we can do! Just Keep praying, God know the heart, and I tell myself that he dont judge me by my words, he knows already the contents of my heart, so he knows what I’m going to say before its said. and he knows of I’m gonna repent if needed or not. He knows already if I truly love him, so I dont say it, I show him by reading my word, praying, serving, believing, trusting, giving, talking to him, trying to get to know him, loving my brother, saying I love you Jesus isnt showing him, it’s just words if their is no action behind it,

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

  8. So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe. And after they had argued back and forth among themselves, they left with this final word from Paul: “The Holy Spirit was right when he said to your ancestors through Isaiah the prophet, For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.

    Acts 28:3‭-‬5 KJV
Let’s keep the fire burning at POFW and it will reveal any snakes that are trying to hang on in our lives. It’s our job to shake them off and and let the fire of God burn up anything that is not like Him!

  10. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

No weapon formed against you will prosper!

You never know when dangerous situations may arise and come against you. There are times that we may be prepared and times where we not. We have to trust God every step of the way to be a witness unto his great power.

    Mark 16:16-18 states-
16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

This can only happen when we truly trust Hod every step of our journey. Regardless of how it looks around us, it is always going to look better when we look up. We have power and we can overtake the enemy.

  11. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

It’s amazing that Paul was not only bitten by a viper, he did not die AND was a prisoner on this voyage BUT 2 whole years was allotted the privilege to live in a rented home…AND Was allowed to preach on the Kingdom of God and all the teachings concerning the Name of Jesus!!!

  12. iLove the Kingdom
15And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

After everything Paul had gone through, after all the revelations, all the miracles that God had done through him, all the healings, all the preaching, face to face meeting with God, and an even angelic encounter on a doomed ship, Paul is still human and the Word says Paul “thanked God and took courage”. This great man of God took courage in the middle of all the faith that he possessed which should encourage all us. We all need to “take courage” and it should also remind us that it is not uncommon to be discouraged. The key is to not stay discouraged but to “take courage!”

  13. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

  14. Acts 28
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Shake loose everything that binds you up, who told you that you can’t make it
When God says that you can shake it!

There are something’s that will try to come and grab ahold of us. Unexpected itveill grasp ahold of our hand. Right in the midst of doing something good.
Though it comes like the serpent that attached itself to Paul we cannot allow it’s venomous bite to cause us an alarm. We must merely shake it loose and Jeep working for the Kingdom. Satan is our to catch us unaware but if we have the confidence and the stability of the power of Jesus Christ no matter what tries to take our hand away from God’s we can shake it loose. We cannot allow any intimidation nor talk nor any venomous element to stop us . I
    In Jesus Name.

    English Standard Version
For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

  15. Acts Chapter 28 Verse 6-8
    6. So when he should have fallen or got hurt or died suddenly, he looked great all of the sudden so he was not harmed or hurt so they all changed their minds since that he was Jesus Christ our god
    7. In the same possessions on the island of the same quarters Publius lodged us courteously.
    8. And the Father Of Publius came to pass and he had Layed down with a fever and a bloody flux so Paul came in and Prayed and he layed his hands on him and prayed and he healed him

  16. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

    It’s starts with one.

When we start speaking about the healings, miracles, signs, and wonders that God is doing; Word gets out. And others want to come see and experience it for themselves.

It starts with one, but it doesn’t stop there!

  17. 24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
They will always be someone who will set there hear the word of God and never really receive it as the Bible says their hearts are hard

  18. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

Paul gave what he had-the power of God to heal through prayer-and he received the physical things he/they had need of. His labors for the kingdom provided for him and his company. Philippians 4:19 – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

  19. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

    A good deed.

Do you feel that sometimes when you do something good, that it backfores on you? I have, but after reading this it got me to thinking. Maybe, it wasnt for me, but somehow to give glory to God. But how??? Maybe its through my reaction, or maybe I go to prayer about it. Remember God’s ways are above our ways. He has made this world t9 go into motion, so he must have a plan for our lives.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

  20. As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him. Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.
Acts of the Apostles 28:8‭-‬10 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.28.8-10.NLT

God can open doors we could not open ourselves. We will get all we need if we put Him first and trust in Him.

  21. ²⁵ And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
    (ONE WORD)
(I feel that Paul was in prison a lot that’s what gave him the courage and strength stand before people and pour his heart out with boldness and without fear the people (LOVE FOR JESUS WILL MAKE YOU HAVE BOLDNESS YOU NEVER KNEW)

When Paul pleads from his heart and ask and tells the people what to do rather it’s the middle of a field, on a ship or one-on-one.
    If the people didn’t do what was being prescribed then their disobedience caused storms or death ect;

I don’t think Paul wasn’t talking because he was bored, he didn’t want the attention or he would be talking about how many times he was in prison.
Choosing to go against him and most of all being disobedient to God caused prison cells and sea storms and they probably wonder why the ship is always set sail and things falling apart around them.
I know when this happens to me I stop drop and roll then think about the last thing that I didn’t do that God asked me to do.. Paul is the voice of GOD..

If i was with Paul I would want him to call me out by name if needed because I know his burden is not light he’s fighting hell to provide the people with the tools to save them from hell.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
Matthew 12:20 (KJV) A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
    Acts 28:
²⁶ Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
²⁷ For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
²⁸ Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
²⁹ And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
³⁰ And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
³¹ Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  22. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

The Word will always be delivered to those who are hungry and desire it. Never lose your passion and desire for the Word of God, for relationship with God – He paid it all for us! How could I not love Him a He first loved me.

  23. “So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have an assignment. We are to go and teach and make disciples. We must go and let Jesus out of our four walls and testify of His goodness. And once we do that let God do the rest.

  24. So many thoughts came to mind in reading this chapter this morning, from a horrible storm that everyone saw as doom (except for Paul); turned into a wonderful time in Malta as they were treated royally and all of their needs were taken care of. Paul never stopped sharing, even after all that he had been through (imprisonment, a storm, getting bitten by a snake, etc.). Paul’s door was always open and he was always willing to share and explain everything about Jesus Christ. For many of us, one of these trials would have possibly taken us out; but, we need to pray that the Lord give us the same resolve as Paul and just keep sharing as he did. First The Kingdom!

  25. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE FIRE

3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

The past 27 days have taught us much about FIRE in the WORD of GOD. This testimony in Acts 28 I believe will lead us to understand the aspect of FIRE in the Kingdom of GOD.

Notice in verse 3 Paul gathered a bundle of sticks to enhance, build, rekindle or cause the FIRE to burn brighter and or hotter. (Much like 40 days of FIRE). While we are building the FIRE, it brings unwanted, unclean and even deadly dangers to the surface. The serpent satan can’t stand the FIRE because he knows that is his eternal home. Therefore when the FIRE is HOT the satan will rise his head to attempt to destroy the people of GOD.

But, as we learn through Paul we must not be freightened or scared, but simply shake the serpent back into the fire. Cast it back into the fire for deliverance and freedom from the test and temptations of the serpent that arise from the FIRE.

This principal is what makes our relationship with GOD so important. We must be filled with the Holy Ghost to GUIDE us in these times and we must be in the WORD of GOD to exercise the authority of GOD to cast off and out the serpent/devil back into the FIRE. For this reason the FIRE on my Altar must NEVER Burn Out. I must be a HOUSE of Prayer.

  26. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

There are going to be times in your life that you should be knocked out, down for the fight, at a game over, but through Christ, we are able to Shake It Off and keep going.

We can’t allow our humanity to take over, and give us the illusion that we are able to do it on our own. That we are big enough, strong enough, or even humanly possible to accomplish the impossible without Christ. We must be able to humbly give all the glory to God, to be a witness to those around to understand that it is through HIM that we are able to Shake it off and keep going.

  27. Acts 28:23 & 30-31 (NLT)
    23) So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening.

    30) For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him,
    31) Boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.

Like Paul, every opportunity we get, we should be testifying about the Kingdom of God and telling and teaching others about JESUS.
    FIRST THE KINGDOM!

  28. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

The Lord used Paul to do many signs and miracles so that God would get the glory and it would open a door for Paul to tell them about this Jesus. Signs are for the unbeliever so that their hearts will be opened and the Spirit of God can move on them. We, the Church, have to position ourselves in prayer that God can use us in signs and miracles so that it can draw many people to Him. It takes commitment, perseverance and dedication and God will use willing vessels.

  29. Acts 28:28-31
    All about witnessing

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. And Paul dwelt two whole years and in his own hired house, and received all that came in into him. Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

v.31 Boldly and freely he proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom.

2 Timothy 2:9 for which I suffer to the extent of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained!

    Keep testifying and persuading

  30. 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Have you ever felt like you are talking to a wall? This is why!!!! We need to pray for God to soften their hearts, unplug those ears, and open their eyes for them to see and hear the word of God for SALVATION IS HERE NOW! TODAY!!! No reason to wait share His Gospel to all!!!

  31. 3 As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. 4 The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”

Yes people are quick to make judgement on someone even before knowing the details. Why not just attend to his wound, and say “your God will save you”. Eventually Paul did survive and I’m sure some individuals were converted to accept God, the one and only true God. Lets not be quick to judge others for their circumstances or mistakes. Lets just pray for others for God to protect and bless them.

  32. Hello 28:5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
    ———
That’s it!!!! I will purpose myself this day that no matter comes against I will shake it off. For greater is He who is in me , than he who is I the world.
    —— my God got this.
I will bless you Lord, as long as I live, and in your bsne, I will lift up my hands.
    I you will I trust.

  33. 25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

Sometimes we are telling people about Jesus and it feels like it is falling on deaf ears. But we could be planting a seed, just like when you have the seed in the ground, you don’t see it through the dirt, but it is there and it will grow into plant if it is watered. And sometimes people hear it more than you might realize, they will remember the words you say and they might get curious later. Don’t be afraid to tell people about Jesus and how he has saved you.

  34. “Three days after Paul’s arrival, he called together the local Jewish leaders. He said to them, “Brothers, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Roman government, even though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors. The Romans tried me and wanted to release me, because they found no cause for the death sentence. But when the Jewish leaders protested the decision, I felt it necessary to appeal to Caesar, even though I had no desire to press charges against my own people. I asked you to come here today so we could get acquainted and so I could explain to you that I am bound with this chain because I believe that the hope of Israel—the Messiah—has already come.” They replied, “We have had no letters from Judea or reports against you from anyone who has come here. But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about this movement is that it is denounced everywhere.” So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe. And after they had argued back and forth among themselves, they left with this final word from Paul: “The Holy Spirit was right when he said to your ancestors through Isaiah the prophet, ‘Go and say to this people: When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’ So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.”

For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:17-28, 30-31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Even is jail Paul did not let that stop him from preaching the word. God had his hand on every part of Paul’s journey and it is incredible how Paul never lost faith and kept preaching and spreading the word. He was truly an inspiration. Pray we can have that same drive and faith.

  35. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and
their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

We are to go and spread God’s word to everyone who will listen

  36. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

As believers we are to continue telling everyone about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who are seeking it will hear

  37. “They…began to leave after Paul had made one last statement: “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying, ‘Go to this people and say, “You will keep on hearing, but will not understand, You will keep on seeing, but will not perceive; For the heart (the understanding, the soul) of this people has become dull (calloused), And with their ears they scarcely hear, And they have shut their eyes [to the truth]; Otherwise they might see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return [to Me], And I would heal them .” ’”
    ACTS 28:25‭-‬27 AMP

Paul is quoting this call to Isaiah in Isa. 6:9-12:
“And He replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive. Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed. Then I said, “Until when, Lord? ” And He replied: Until cities lie in ruins without inhabitants…and the Lord drives the people far away…”
    Isaiah 6:9‭-‬12 HCSB

Isaiah immediately began to prophesy about their Messiah:
    * “A virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (7:14).
    * He shall be a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence to Israel (8:14).
    * The son born would be “The mighty God, The everlasting Father” (9:6).
    * He would be from the root of Jesse. The Spirit would rest upon Him, and the Gentiles would seek after Him (11:1-2,10).
    * Jehovah would become Jeshua (Greek translation: Jesus, salvation; 12:2).
    * He would perform miracles (35:4-6).
    * He would be preceded by a messenger (40:1-5,9).
    * He would be spat upon and beaten (50:6).
    * He would be despised, rejected, beaten, bruised, whipped, numbered with transgressors, buried with the rich, and silent before His accusers (52:13-53:12).
    * He would be anointed to preach good tidings, bind up the brokenhearted, set captives free, and proclaim the Jubilee (61:1-2).

This wasn’t vain or idle speech (known to dull the ears of listeners), but this was vital truth that should have caused them to recognize their Messiah. However, their hardened hearts could not grasp and receive what they did not want to hear. Had they received it, they would have turned (returned to God in repentance), and He would have healed their land. For, God had long ago made the following promise:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and TURN from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will HEAL their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.”
    2 Chronicles 7:14‭-‬16 KJV

They didn’t hear Isaiah, however, or any of the other prophets. Thus, Zechariah gives the prophecy below:

“‘But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder; they closed their ears so they could not hear. They made their hearts like a rock so as not to obey the law or the words that the Lord of Hosts had sent by His Spirit through the earlier prophets. Therefore great anger came from the Lord of Hosts. Just as He had called, and they would not listen, so when they called, I would not listen,’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘I scattered them with a windstorm over all the nations… They turned a pleasant land into a desolation.'”
    Zechariah 7:11‭-‬14 HCSB

The Jews turned their shoulders instead of their hearts, and the land that could have been healed became a desolation. We would do well to learn from their mistakes. Let us be attentive to His Word, turning to Him with repentant hearts, lest our own land (and lives) become desolate.

  38. Hechos 28

  39. 24 Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.

I have heard that over 60% of atheists were raised in church-going homes but, at some point, lost their faith. I suspect they were never told why they believe, but only told to believe. Maybe They weren’t led to build a relationship with God, rather forced to obey the rules of the house they lived in. Maybe these people who witnessed Paul’s works had other issues in life they could not overlook or ignore. Maybe they suffered a personal loss and blame God for it. Why would a good God allow such terrible things? All we can do as believers is point the way and allow people to make their own way to God.

1 Corinthians 9:22 I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
1 Peter 3:15-16 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to answer everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

  40. “As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:3-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God didn’t preserve Paul from the storm just to let him perish by a snake. Paul was protected. It was promised he would go to Rome ,and Paul wasn’t to Rome yet. It wasn’t so much that nothing would stop Paul as it was that nothing would stop God’s promise from being fulfilled.

  41. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
In these 40 days the enemy will becoming after us but God will give us the power to shake it off and send it back from where it came

  42. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Many times when we are trying to tell others about the Kingdom of God, we find that there are some ready to believe, and others that aren’t ready.

As saints, we must pray that the hearts of those we speak to are prepared and hungry for the Bread of Life, in we are trying to share.

  43. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Mark 16:18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

We should not be fearful when doing God’s work.

  44. God is Great all the Time
He Helps out all the time when we need it like when the devil is speaking to us in our mind
And when we are speaking in Tongues up at the altar we are not just saying random words we are talking to Jesus in his language.

  45. In this chapter…..

28 1-2 Once everyone was accounted for and we realized we had all made it, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. The natives went out of their way to be friendly to us. The day was rainy and cold and we were already soaked to the bone, but they built a huge bonfire and gathered us around it.

3-6 Paul pitched in and helped. He had gathered up a bundle of sticks, but when he put it on the fire, a venomous snake, roused from its torpor by the heat, struck his hand and held on. Seeing the snake hanging from Paul’s hand like that, the natives jumped to the conclusion that he was a murderer getting his just deserts. Paul shook the snake off into the fire, none the worse for wear. They kept expecting him to drop dead, but when it was obvious he wasn’t going to, they jumped to the conclusion that he was a god!

What came to me was when they thought Paul was God! People might know that we are Christians of how we show it! STEP ON POFW!!😁😁😁

  46. When God is for us nothing can stand against us. No weapons form against us shall prosper. In Jesus name.

  47. 28: 1-10 God can make strangers friends; friends in danger. Those who are despised by welcoming manners, are often friendlier than the most polished; and the conduct of pagans, or persons called barbarians, condemns many in civilized nations, who profess to be Christians. People thought that Paul was a murderer, and that the viper was sent by divine justice, which is the avenger of blood.

They knew that there is a God who governs the world, so things do not happen by chance, no, it is not the smallest event, but all by divine direction; and that evil persecutes sinners; that there are good works that God will reward and bad deeds that He will punish. Also, that murder is a terrible crime, one that will not be long unpunished.

But they thought all the evil people were punished in this life. Although some are examples in this world, to demonstrate that there is a God and a Providence, however, many remain in impunity, to demonstrate that there is a coming judgment. They also thought all those afflicted remarkably in this life were evil people.

The divine revelation that differentiates this matter in a true light. Good men are often greatly affected in this life, for the trial and the increase of their faith and patience. Observe Paul’s deliverance from danger. And so in the strength of the grace of Christ, the believers shake the temptations of Satan, with the holy resolution.

When we despise the censures and reproaches of men, and we look with utter contempt, having the testimony of our conscience for us, then, like Paul, we shake the viper in the fire. It does us no harm, except we are kept by it from our duty.

God makes Paul notable among these people here, and thus gave way to the reception of the gospel. The Lord raises up the friends of his people in all the places where he leads them, and turns them into blessings to those of affliction

I pray the Lost will allow their hearts to soften and they receive the word that they hear. I pray their faith rises from the miracles they see. I pray each of us will boldly speak the truth and Gospel of Jesus Christ without hesitation.

  52. “Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us. There are things that will rise up and come out as you go through the fire. Just like gold is purified things come to the surface. Whatever it may be whether it comes from you or other shake them off in God’s fire. Let the consuming fire of God burn them away.

  54. ‘Go to this people and say , “You will keep on hearing , but will not understand , you will keep on seeing , but will not perceive ; For the heart (the understanding, the soul) of this people has become dull (calloused), And with their ears they scarcely hear , And they have shut their eyes [to the truth]; Otherwise they might see with their eyes , And hear with their ears , And understand with their heart and return [to Me], And I would heal them .” ’
    ACTS 28:26‭-‬27 AMP

This world has lost its grip, slowly falling away to what society has said is exceptable. Its exceptable to murder babies its exceptable to have relations out side of marriage or with the same sex. Its exceptable for you to identify as a women or a man because the way God molded you and made you isn’t good enough. Its ok that you replace genuine emotion with alcohol and drugs just so we dont have to feel. We can simply go along with society because your just exploring ideas of who YOU say YOU are….. This world is made up of lies and decete and is lead by those with hardend hearts and blind eyes. The truth is distorted and has become unfamiliar. Worship has been sold out to entertainment. This world has givin into short term fixes instead of the eternal solution.

Lord i pray that we are able to go out in boldness to spread this word. I pray that this word would open blind eyes and soften the hearts of your people. Lord i pray that this word would lay upon def ears. I rebuke the strategy evil has bestowed upon this world. In the name of Jesus, i rebuke the spirits that walk upon this earth feeding lies into the mouths of babes. Telling them that they are not good enough for your promise telling them that they are not good enough to be who you called them to be. Filling their hearts with stones of sin and affliction. Painting a picture, a mirage, a false image of what strength and glory looks like. Lord i pray that this word leaves an impression in there minds. I pray that this word is used as fuel to a fire that cannot be put out and cannot be overcome. In Jesus name. Amen.

  55. When the heat is turned up, things will began to show. Fire causes changes to things it comes in contact with. If you want to know how to get rid of the things in your life, apply the fire of God. he will burn out all the impurities. God will cleanse and make you whole. The time for playing is gone. We must be about our fathers business if we are to make it to heaven. Our God is worthy of all praise, honor and glory.

  56. 28. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
Beautiful chapter full of miracles and the demonstration of the kingdom on earth., but this verse, Salvation has sent to gentiles made my hearth full of love and rejoice in the Spirit. I am a gentile acquired by the love of God through His blood. We are the fruit of His afliction in the Cross. We heard the word and voice of the Soirit, fruit of the effort of the primitive church, the apostles, fruit of the faith of Abraham, the nation that he could not count it. Glory to God, that he made of two nations, one nation. Praise the Lord!

  59. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

There are people that will hear what others refuse to hear. They will strive to understand what others refuse to understand. They will desire to see what others turn away from seeing.

Let’s us go out and reach this city to bring then in.

  60. 1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
