Acts Chapter 19 – 29/40

May 29th

Day 29: Acts Ch.19. Paul was ran out of the synagogue after teaching and preaching for three months. He simply went to another place. His ministry soon touched all of Asia. Those who passed through Ephesus (Christians and non-Christians alike) who sat under his teaching, took the word of God with them throughout Asia. We never know the impact of our faithfulness; all God has called us to do is to be obedient, and He does the rest.

Ask God to help you be faithful to serve Him despite opposition from the world.

Acts 19

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

Living for Christ is a balance between a relationship and walk with God AND performing The works that’s what we’ve been called to do. We live in a world today that gets stuck on too much grace and no works and the other side which is all about the works in a relationship. Finding the balance is important that we are serving God well we are drawing closer to him simultaneously. We are to be known by God for our fellowship with him and known by the enemy by our walk with him.

  3. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

God’s word will always prevail!! There’s POWER in the Name of Jesus! Lord make me a House of Prayer, day and night. #firstfire

  4. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

    Some will fall away!

When looking at this scripture Paul asks have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe and some answered honestly. We didn’t know about the Holy Ghost. The scripture stated that as Paul was teaching they were some or divers hardened their hearts and became rebellious to the preaching of the word.

    The scripture tells us:

    2 Thessalonians 2:3-5
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

There is coming a day that many will fall away from this truth before God gets ready to call us away. We have to continue seeking the truth of the word and of the kingdom to gain strength over the enemy and see as many as we can get to the church and hopefully they will receive the baptism and the Holy Ghost before it’s to late.

  5. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
    Acts 19:4

  6. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

As i was reading this chapter my mind thought of people that has left the truth and is now believing a lie. We have to discipline our flesh to live right and do right because you never know who is watching you. But with God on our side we can do it.

  7. 19. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

    20. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

It’s time to lay all artifacts from and ties to the old life upon the altar and let the Fire consume them so that there is no going back. Whatever it costs, eternity is worth it.

Burn the ships, cut the ties
Send a flare into the night
Say a prayer, turn the tide
Dry your tears and wave goodbye
    Step into a new day

We can rise up from the dust
    And walk away
We can dance upon our heartache, yeah
So light a match, leave the past
    Burn the ships
    And don’t you look back

So when some of the people didn’t believe in the Kingdom of God or would say evil things he departed from them and separated the disciples. They knew the truth but still decided to speak evil. No matter what God will triumph!!!

The best day was when Joe got the Holy Ghost, he took all his “spiritual stuff” and threw it away, he has been finding stuff and throwing it away. There is no way he could have made it with that stuff! God is all we need, there is no other God, Jesus is the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD. we cant do anything without him! Thank you Jesus for cleaning our house!

That is what you call a revival. No telling how many came before Paul and the others with their books of witchcraft and spells. I know that when I burned my books; I could hear a faint cry as the spirits were released. I wasn’t 100% in tune with God, but I was learning and gaining ground. I’m sure that when all their craft was set ablaze there was a loud cry from within the fire. I felt a release and weight lifted when I turned my craft into dust. I thank Jesus for removing that worldly craft from my heart and mind. Jesus continue to place me upon the path of Your Kingdom and through my faith let me find you daily. Thank you Jesus for this life you have awarded me.

  11. Acts 19 :4-5 [Amp] And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, continually telling the people that they should believe in the One Who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus
[ having a conviction full of joyful trust that He is Christ, the Messiah and being obedient to Him]. [5]
On hearing this , they were baptized [ again, this time ] in the name of the Lord Jesus. Here were some that knew the truth and some that didn’t believe in the truth . We need to disciple our flesh daily to live right before God. To be submissive and obedient to him.

  12. As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve men in all. God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.

    Acts 19:1 KJV
Finding certain disciples-. We know Paul recognized these people had enough of God that they were living differently. They had a messure of repentance and just needed someone to show them the Word of God more perfectly. Hence, the two questions about receiving the Holy Ghost and how they were baptized. These are two very good questions that we can ask disciples today!
I have always been taught that a disciple is a disciplined believer. Part of being disciplined means staying in the service!

  15. Acts Chapter 19 verse 2-6
    2. If you believe in Jesus and you want to speak in Tongues you need to get baptized first in Jesus name but first before you can get baptized in Jesus name you have to receive the Holy Ghost and in order to receive the Holy Ghost you have to speak to god through tongues.
    3. And have you got baptized? And Have you received the Holy Ghost? Have you got to speaking in Tongues?
    4. And when you go up to the altar by the polpit to pray and speak in Tongues you are not just going up there to speak to Jesus you are going up there to talk to him You are going up there to repent and to tell Jesus for forgiveness for all the bad things I have done and when you go up you say Dear Jesus Right now I pray for forgiveness so please forgive me for doing this things today I was not supposed to do and Jesus i will not do it ever again.
5.and when you hear Jesus calling your name That means you are baptized in Jesus name.
6.And Paul laid his hands on him and then he started to speak in Tongues so he could receive the Holy Ghost and then he prophesied.

  16. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

You can’t call on a name/person you don’t have relationship with and expect them to serve your command. If you were to yell out in a crowd for “hey you” to come do something for you, chances are this random person would scoff at you and ignore your request. This demon even recognized that and saw these men had no real power or authority.

  17. 19:13 The certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcist s took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus saying, we adhere you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leap on them, and overcame them, prevailed against them….
    Holy Ghost= Power
    Holy Ghost= Understanding, revelation
    Holy Ghost= discernment
But Most of all, its RELATION SHIP.
An everyday day walk with Jesus, a reading of his word, anointing…..
Not everyone can cast out a demon. And this the example.
Let us make sure Jesus knows our name( yes he does) but you know what I mean.

  18. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

Wow. Even these vagabond jews, who were exorcists, could not cast out these spirits. The answer that the spirit said to them answers why we should have a relationship with God.
Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? Who are you? What do you believe? Who do you believe in?

Ypung people, this is why the youth team teach and preach about having a relationship with God. Because it will save you from torment, and strife that we dont not even comprehend. This is why everyday i must seek after His Kingdom and His will for my life. I must needs to go where God is leading everyday. I must prepare my altar for the sacrifices that i must make everyday. The sacrifice of talent, treasure, and time. Value the time you have with God and what you learn from Him and about Him. Time is the only thing that we can never get back, so spend it wisely.

I must seek after His Kingdom first

  19. Radical life-change

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. KJV

4 That explains it, said Paul. John preached a baptism of radical life-change so that people would be ready to receive the One coming after him, who turned out to be Jesus. If you’ve been baptized in John’s baptism, you’re ready now for the real thing, for Jesus. MSG

Paul knows about change. Remember he was the one who persecuted the saints and pursued them to put them in jail. When God got ahold of Saul, nothing in his past could keep him from becoming the man God created him to be. God still loved him and still saw potential in Saul and gave jim a new beginning. He got a do-over. Your name is no longer Saul, you are now Paul and you’re working for me. And from that moment on, everything changed.

I doubt there are any brutal killers reading this, but maybe someone with a bad habit. A habit that we know is wrong. A habit of worrying, drinking, binge eating, gossip, cursing, nagging, procrastination,
Negativity, laziness, distraction, complacency, complaining or maybe of giving up. God can help us change. God can help our spouse change. He can help our children change. Nothing is too big for Him. Nothing is impossible for Him. The same God who changed the killer Saul into the Apostle Paul, wants to help us change.

    How?

Surrender to Him. Trust Him even at all times … especially in the dark times … that’s often where God does His greatest work. No change is too big or too hard for God. Not in our life or in our loved one’s life.

  20. iLove the Kingdom
18Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 19A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.19:19 Greek 50,000 pieces of silver, each of which was the equivalent of a day’s wage. 20So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

Wow! What a great big bonfire y’all! Revival broke out in the fire! #40daysoffire. True repentance caused these wealthy sorcerers to burn their magic books. The NLT tells us this was worth several million dollars. I wonder what would happen at The Pentecostals of Fort Worth if we all got together one night and brought all the idols and burnt them to a crisp. We could have a hot dog weenie roast fundraiser immediately following.

    Conclusion:

It doesnt matter dld how much evil costs, just toss it into the fire

  21. Acts 19

8 And he went into the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and arguing and persuading them about the kingdom of God. 9 But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient [to the word of God], discrediting and speaking evil of [a]the Way (Jesus, Christianity) before the congregation, Paul left them, taking the disciples with him, and went on holding [b]daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus [instead of in the synagogue]. 10 This continued for two years, so that all the inhabitants of [the west coast province of] Asia [Minor], Jews as well as Greeks, heard the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ]

Paul’s boldness in first approaching disciples of Hohn. He was not afraid to tell them they needed to be rebaptized. I find people just have not looked at the scripture their self. They have been led to believe all their life they have truly been baptized correctly. When shown most are willing to be rebaptized. I’m encountering people in their 70’s wanting truth wanting someone to explain the scriptures. Paul was not accepted in the synagogue but it did not cause him to stop spreading the Gospel. If I took a look at the rejections and said well no one wants to listen where would those wanting to hear be today. Recently someone said s statement that “well they don’t want doctrine “. Not so! We must listen and look and become different than others. People do want to know the Bible. People are hungry . There is a rise of people searching for truth. Keep moving like Paul. If one group does not receive there will be those who do and will receive truth. They are searching every where we must continue to speak . Be bold do not allow intimidation to keep you from witnessing. People are hurting and you are the key to lead them to freedom in the Holy Ghost. Sometimes rejection is just a cautious reaction to their past circumstances if we are gentle, genuinely interested layers of pain and isolated people will begin to fill your life as you begin to fill their ‘s with kindness and the Word of God. Keep reaching there is a group of people waiting . In Jesus name! I believe it just like Paul!

He went on preaching and teaching!

    Romans 10:14. New Living Translation
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

  22. Verse 4 MSG “That explains it,” said Paul. “John preached a baptism of radical life-change so that people would be ready to receive the One coming after him, who turned out to be Jesus. If you’ve been baptized in John’s baptism, you’re ready now for the real thing, for Jesus.” There are so many in this region, who are just waiting for the real thing, for Jesus…..that is why our obedience is so key…..we must keep sharing and keep reaching for those that are lost.

Verse 15 AMP “But the evil spirit retorted, “I know and recognize and acknowledge Jesus, and I know about Paul, but as for you, who are you?” The evil spirits knew who Jesus was and they still fear the unity of the church. Even though you may feel like your being attacked by the enemy; why not put satan on notice…..”If you only knew what I was gonna be, After the storm you wouldn’t have even bothered”. Let’s go POFW and take it ALL back…..by putting in our ALL….let’s pour out our best!

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

If anyone ever questions the Acts 2:38 salvation message, this is the passage I lead them to read. It clearly confirms the whole Acts 2:38 message.

They Repented (Johns Baptism), they were baptized in the NAME of the Lord JESUS, they received the gift of the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Lets GO share this Apostolic message with all in the name of JESUS.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

BELIEVE! The power of believing in the name of Jesus Christ! This reminded me of how children and adults think. Adults tend to question many things, doubt, review, analyze (which is great for certain things) but when you speak to them spiritually we do the same and loose the blessing God has for us. Unlike children, they believe everything instantly!! Their innocence drives them to believe in the unseen. Let’s be like children and believe the Word of God instantly without reproach, doubt, fear, anxiety BUT with boldness believing every single word! Everything we need is His Word!

  26. 15But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?”

Even a spirit can recognize if you have the Holy Spirit or not. The spirit knew they had no authority to be calling on the name of Jesus. These men didn’t have the Holy Spirit guarding them from evil. The Holy Spirit will protect you from spirits trying to deceive you. With the Holy Spirit you have the authority to heal, rebuke and bless others in Jesus name.

  27. And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the king of the kingdom of God. But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
    Acts 19:8-10

    We must keep training others…..
Be familiar with your strengths and weaknesses.
Know the people you wish to develop.
Clearly define the goals and assignments.
Allow them to watch you serve and lead
Hold them accountable for their work.
Give them the freedom to fail.

Stay committed to the people, to the process, and to the purpose.

  28. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
The word of God must grow in us we must lay more old on our fire there must never come a time when our fire goes out there are to many lost souls in the city of Fort Worth

  29. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

The perfect outreach!!! Outreach should NOT be complicated. This is the perfect example of outreach. Let’s make this part of our daily greeting to all and let’s see what comes out of it!!! They may refuse it but if only one soul is saved because of it the rejoicing will be GREAT!

  30. 21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

    Paul purposed in the spirit.

    pur·pose

    noun
    1.
the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

Another definition says motivation, reason, point.

It is all too easy to just begin to go through the motions and begin to flow through to the next thing and not have a drive, vision, or purpose. The scripture states above that Paul PURPOSED in the SPIRIT.

There’s a two-step process here, purpose and spirit. With a direct vision that will motivate us with purpose, we will do all we can to accomplish the desired goal. When we link it with the Spirit, we then have the ability to have Christ working through us.

  31. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

The enemy’s purpose was to bring confusion into the people so that they would not hear/receive what Paul and the other disciples were testifying about. Even the sons of Scieve played into his plan. Yet with all this going on, there was still hungry hearts that accepted what was being taught, and so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

We will face opposition; opposition of life, of friends, of family, or co-workers. But none of these things should detour us from sharing the gospel to people. If one doesn’t receive it, shake the dust off and go to another person. If we are persistent, God will lead us to people that will receive Him, and they will become holy ghost filled, baptized saints of God.

  32. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

It is not enough to just believe we must be filled with his spirit.
I can believe in a lot of things but it don’t save me or change me but when I believe and am filled with his spirit I am made new. But only by him am I made new.

  33. “But when some became hardened and would not believe, slandering the Way in front of the crowd, he withdrew from them and met separately with the disciples, conducting discussions every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. And this went on for two years, SO THAT ALL THE INHABITANTS OF ASIA, both Jews and Greeks, HEARD the message about the Lord.”
    Acts 19:9‭-‬10 HCSB

After I read this verse, I paused and asked the question:
How does one man preaching every day in the same place for two years get the Gospel out to all the inhabitants of Asia?

And then I saw the next two verses:
“God was performing extraordinary miracles by Paul’s hands, so that even facecloths or work aprons that had touched his skin were brought to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits came out of them.”
    Acts 19:11‭-‬12 HCSB

IT WAS GOD. God was with him performing miracles, casting out devils, opening doors of witness with HIS supernatural power. I imagine the people flocked to Paul the same way they did to Jesus. Perhaps they stood in line for hours waiting for him to finish preaching so he could pray for them. Outside, the lecture hall must have resembled Black Friday morning at Best Buy just before opening. Mobs waiting to get in, pushing their way forward, fighting for their place in line, counting down the minutes until they could come face to face with the miracle worker. The news would spread far and wide quickly, “Come see a man…”

Mark implies that this Godly demonstration was with all the disciples who preached everywhere in those days:
“And they went forth, and preached every where, THE LORD WORKING WITH THEM, and CONFIRMING THE WORD with signs following. Amen.”
    Mark 16:20 KJV

It would have been easy to get lost in the applause, the adoration, the fame, the power; but Paul just kept preaching Jesus…every day…in the same place…until all came and heard. He wasn’t building a kingdom for himself. He had a burning desire for all the world to experience the Savior he knew. AND THE LORD WORKED WITH HIM CONFIRMING THE WORD.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
    Hebrews 13:8

If the Lord is the same, and the message is the same, and the mission is the same, what has changed that we are not seeing the same results? Perhaps the answer is in our fire. When we burn with the same intensity that those disciples burned with—with an ever-increasing heat of passion that cared not for their own lives, comfort, or safety—with climbing flames of faith that could not be doused by persecution, adversity, or hardship—with an all-consuming, whole-life encompassing, continual offering of themselves as an acceptable sacrifice—perhaps then we will see the same results: God working with us, His miracles to perform.

YOU GET THE FIRE YOU BUILD AND FEED.

If you are constantly looking for everyone else to feed your fire, it will quickly burn out. However, if we learn, as Pastor is preaching, to fuel our own fires with daily with morning and night offerings of prayer, study of the Word, and self-sacrifice, then the fire will abide and bring forth light enabling all the world to know.

  34. 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

The gospel should not be preached for prosperity. It should be preached to the save into the lost we should never give up on anybody that is willing to here. Never never give up on your family no matter what the situation is.

Today we have a purpose as Christians to go out and preach and teach the gospel to the lost of the world, we must go out and show them that god truly loves them and wants to give them the gift of the Holy Ghost!

  37. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

  39. Acts 19
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul

God can use anyone and everyone including me

  40. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

When we are in tune with the Word of God, He can use us mightily. Paul was used to heal and cast out spirits and preached the Word. Those who put on an act or try to look and act like a Christian but live like the devil during the week God help them. They like the vagabond Jews will be overcome with whatever they are trying to control to make themselves look good. Be blessed today and be careful.

  41. “Some itinerant Jewish exorcists who happened to be in town at the time tried their hand at what they assumed to be Paul’s “game.” They pronounced the name of the Master Jesus over victims of evil spirits, saying, “I command you by the Jesus preached by Paul!” The seven sons of a certain Sceva, a Jewish high priest, were trying to do this on a man when the evil spirit talked back: “I know Jesus and I’ve heard of Paul, but who are you?” Then the possessed man went berserk—jumped the exorcists, beat them up, and tore off their clothes. Naked and bloody, they got away as best they could.”

We can’t walk in someone’s authority without relationship. Or with the mind frame that it’s a game. It reminds me of the song Echo –

  42. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Thank God for Bible Study! It shows the way clearly to those who truly want to be right with God. I pray that people have a hunger and thirst for his righteousness, soft hearts and open minds so they can receive this apostolic doctrine like this passage shows. Then the Holy Ghost fell and they were born again…

  43. 32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

They cried “Great is Diana” for two hours. The noise must have been deafening, especially to Paul as he was trying to preach the truth.

People may not cry “Great is Diana” but many cry “Great is my money”, “ Great is this celebrity”, or “ Great are these drugs”.

And yet if one says, “Great is the Lord Jesus Christ”, they are regarded by many as strange. But we are, after all, called to be a peculiar people.

We see many false gods rise and fall, but Jesus remains the same. We learn form this, that idols and false gods all have expiration dates but Jesus Christ lives forever.

  44. “Then Paul went to the synagogue and preached boldly for the next three months, arguing persuasively about the Kingdom of God. But some became stubborn, rejecting his message and publicly speaking against the Way. So Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he held daily discussions at the lecture hall of Tyrannus.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some people can be as stubborn as a mule…
The Bible records instances of stubborn, mule-like behavior of human beings on occasion.

“Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle.” Palms 32:9

When it comes to following God’s commands, we should not be stubborn. We must not turn our heads away and “stiffen the neck.” We must learn to yield and be pliable in His hands. It’s not our wish for God to use the bit and bridle on us.

Pharaoh was famously stubborn (Exodus 7:13–14), but his recalcitrance did himself and his nation no good. But stubbornness was also displayed later by the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people, who rebelled against God over and over, turning away from His love and protection.

In fact, the Hebrew word translated “stubborn” means “turned away, morally obstinate, rebellious, and backsliding.”

God considers stubbornness a great sin…..

Stubbornness and defiance of God and His ordained authority is a serious offense, one that can spread like poison throughout a church even a community.
Unfortunately, this is the fate that awaits all those who persist in rejecting Christ. God will eventually turn them over to the hardness of their hearts and no longer plead with them. The sad result of such mulish obstinance is made clear in Romans 2:5:

“Because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.”

  45. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Even today many believe in God and even who Jesus is but they do not understand the full truth of the Gospel that they must receive the Holy Ghost by evidence of speaking in tongues and be baptized in Jesus name. It is the duty of an apostolic believer to explain this to them.

  46. Acts 19:4-6

  47. Hechos 19

29-30 “And now they’re at it again! Take care of their threats and give your servants fearless confidence in preaching your Message, as you stretch out your hand to us in healings and miracles and wonders done in the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

It said that take care of their threats and give your servant fearless confidence in preaching your message. This meant to me that someone was telling somebody else to preach Gods Message in no fear but Confidence. You have to be confident in what you preach God‘s word, if you’re not confident while telling someone about God‘s word they are not going to interact with you. We are the leaders of our church and we need to show that we have a connection with God and the new believers. Even if your Fearful you still have to do everything in confidence, because if you do not believe in yourself how are you going to do it. Some people might be shutting for you to go on but if you don’t have confidence in yourself you’re going to still be stuck in the same l fearful you still have to do everything in confidence, because if you do not believe in yourself how are you going to do it. Some people might be shouting for you to go on but if you don’t have confidence in yourself you’re going to still be stuck in the same mud hole! BE CONFIDENT POFW!!😁😁😁😁😁😄

  49. 17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

  50. 19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed

Take it to the altar… some things God’s Spirit and fire will burn out. There are others that you are gonna have to take it to the fire yourself. It’s an act of faith to take a step and go to the altar. God sees and honors that. Its like taking a first step towards repentance.

  51. Paul spent three months in the local synagogue before moving to a market-place ministry, where he spoke passionately for more than two years. The results? Ephesus and Asia Minor were profoundly changed because of one man’s passion.

Acts 19 tells us that “all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord,” (Acts 19:10) because of Paul’s work. Undoubtedly, many of the travelers who passed through Ephesus took Paul’s message to their next destination. From Ephesus, Paul had an international ministry.

As they heard Paul speak, the people in Ephesus also had seen or heard about the miracles that came with his message. Paul had been involved in a great number of healing miracles (19:11-12), and even the story of seven sons beaten and stripped naked by an evil spirit had caused the name of Jesus to be “held in high honor.” (19:17).

There were open confessions of following Christ, and of the repentance of sin. In one case, former sorcery devotees publicly burned scrolls valued at 50,000 drachmas. (A drachma was a typical day’s wage, equating to perhaps $5-7 million in today’s dollars.). The dramatic ruins of the city’s massive library tell us how valued the people considered written material, and serve to increase the shocking impact the scroll-burning must have had on those who saw it. By the end of two years’ work, Ephesus was being radically changed because of Paul’s passion. No wonder Luke tells us that “the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power!” (19:20)

  52. He said unto them, have he received the Hoky Fhost since he believed? And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Few years ago I found a man ( ex- drogadit) selling bread , to contribute to his church, that help people to rehabilitate. He look excited to do so. I was so happy to see him heal and trying to evangelized. I asked him did you received the Holy Ghost since you beleived? He said yes, speaking in tongues! We rejoiced together to know The Lord!

  53. And he went into the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and arguing and persuading them about the kingdom of God. But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient [to the word of God], discrediting and speaking evil of the Way (Jesus, Christianity) before the congregation, Paul left them, taking the disciples with him, and went on holding daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus [instead of in the synagogue].
    ACTS 19:8‭-‬9 AMP

Paul preached regardless. He was determined to spread the word. Didnt matter the opposition. All that mattered was soul winning, getting the message out. When he couldnt sway a certain group he went on to the next. He never los t his faith, and he never lost hope.

Lord i pray regardless the opposition of the world, we never lose our faith. Lord i pray that what this world tries to persude others into believing, that we let our belief in you carry us through campain. That we can have faith that in the end you will always win. In Jesus name, Amen!

  54. GOD has opened the gospel to the whole world because of Hos great love.

We are the voice crying in the wilderness. The moment we stop voicing the importance of the Holy Ghost is the moment we become pointless and others cannot hear that the Holy Ghost is there to help lead them.

Let us learn to testify and lead others at all times.

  57. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

There was a certain lady that asked me about baptism. We had come to our church from a baptist church and she had never heard less known any other way of baptizing.

After I explained several different ways, she said, I don’t feel right getting baptized again because I felt that the baptism was very genuine. Is that wrong?

I was puzzled because I know she was being sincere. So I asked God to give me revelation into this matter. This is what I spoke to her.

The genuine feeling you had was the act of repentance. You felt that you truly repented in getting baptized but according to scripture if they didn’t call on the name it’s not valid. Everyone that got baptized was baptized in the NAME!

  58. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

God can use little things like handkerchiefs and aprons to help elevate people faith with the miraculous. When someone witnesses a miracle it expands the possibilities that were seemingly limited. God is all powerful and too often we put him into a box in our minds, we limit our ability to comprehend the magnitude. Our God can do and use anything for his glory.

  59. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Don’t be afraid to admit when you are wrong. It takes a very big person to admit or agree when they are wrong About something. Not only did these people admit to baptizing the wrong way but they rebaptized them and those around theme. Also, be open to change. We live in a fast paced world now. Change is not a ad thing.

  60. “But as you have seen and heard, this man Paul has persuaded many people that handmade gods aren’t really gods at all. And he’s done this not only here in Ephesus but throughout the entire province!”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The minds and hearts of the people have turned away from the light into the darkness to worship idols. They make them in order satisfies there own flesh. We know that idols are not of God and that they will not save you or hear you cry out for help. Only Jesus Christ, the One true living God, will deliver us and break the chains of sin that leads to death.

  61. “Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is a great reminder that God can move our blessing along if we choose not to grab hold of it. Don’t be like the Jews and miss out on what God has for your life, instead, be bold and take hold of what God has given you.

  62. “But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them…”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So Paul left them. . . .sometimes you just need to learn when to walk away and let things be. We can’t force people to accept the truth, to turn away from sin, and we can’t force them to be saved. We can only share when the opportunity is presented to us, after that the decision is up to them.
