Job 23

Then Job answered and said,

Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

  4. Verses 13-17 MSG “But he is singular and sovereign. Who can argue with him? He does what he wants, when he wants to. He’ll complete in detail what he’s decided about me, and whatever else he determines to do. Is it any wonder that I dread meeting him? Whenever I think about it, I get scared all over again. God makes my heart sink! God Almighty gives me the shudders! I’m completely in the dark, I can’t see my hand in front of my face.”

Deuteronomy 6:4-15 CEV “Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only true God![a] So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. Memorize his laws and tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates. The Lord promised your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that he would give you this land. Now he will take you there and give you large towns, with good buildings that you didn’t build, and houses full of good things that you didn’t put there. The Lord will give you wells[b] that you didn’t have to dig, and vineyards and olive orchards that you didn’t have to plant. But when you have eaten so much that you can’t eat any more, don’t forget it was the Lord who set you free from slavery and brought you out of Egypt. Worship and obey the Lord your God with fear and trembling, and promise that you will be loyal to him. Don’t have anything to do with gods that are worshiped by the nations around you. If you worship other gods, the Lord will be furious and wipe you off the face of the earth. The Lord your God is with you,”.

    Job 23:3-6

Always be seeking God, and he will surely help you.

  6. “But he knows where I am and what I’ve done. He can cross-examine me all he wants, and I’ll pass the test with honors. I’ve followed him closely, my feet in his footprints, not once swerving from his way. I’ve obeyed every word he’s spoken, and not just obeyed his advice—I’ve treasured it.

    Job 23:10‭-‬12

Jesus the only way, the truth, and the life. No other way to live!!!

  8. 11. My foot has been securely set in His tracks; I have kept to His course of life without swerving;

    12. I have not departed from the commands of His lips; I have valued everything He says more than all else.

    13. He alone is one True God; who can alter Him? Whatever He desires within Himself, He does.

    14. For He will carry out exactly what He has planned for me, and in the future there are more plans to come.

    2 Timothy 4:
    7. I have fought the good fight, I have stayed on course and finished the race, and through it all, I have kept believing.

    8. I look forward to what’s in store for me: a crown of righteousness that the Lord-the always right and just judge-will give me that day (but it is not only for me, but for all those who love and long for His appearing). Voice

  9. But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭23:10-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But He knows…” and if He knows, then that’s all I should care about because in His hands, my life is safe. There’s no worry about the future knowing He’s in control. My God does all things well, and I will stay faithful to His paths and continue to treasure His Word.

  10. Job 23:10-11 [Amp] But He knows the way I take .
[ He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to [ it] . When He has tried me, I shall come fourth as refined gold [ pure and luminous].
[ Ps.17:3] You have proved my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and find nothing [ no evil purpose in me]; I have purposed that my mouth shall not trangress.
Ps 66: 10 ] For You, O God, have proved us; You have tried us as silver is tried, refined, and purified.
Come and hear, all you who reverently and worshipfully fear , God , and I will declare what he has done for me. For God is the only way, the truth, and light of this world.

  11. But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
    Job 23:10‭-‬12 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/job.23.10-12.KJV

God has to come before anything and everything, all God wants is our time! He loves us and it’s not his desire for us to fall, or burn. God wont make me serve him, I can cry out to him ask him to change me, but I have to do the work to, God says faith without work is dead, I ask God to give me a desire for you and your word, how can I develop a desire if I dont open the book.

  12. 11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

It’s not enough to do good. It’s not enough to want to know him more, or to read The Word, we must do more.

Faith without works is dead. Obedience better than sacrifice. The Word is manna from heaven. In order to keep unrestricted revival we must strive to continue to seek His face, reaching for the lost, and lifting Him up.

  13. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

  14. “If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his court.”

If there’s anything to be thankful for this morning it should be because the veil was torn and we can now get to the Holy of holys through praying through and letting God touch our hearts this morning.

  15. 3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

He had the right answer but the wrong attitude. Seeking out the face of God is always going to be the right thing to do but his attitude was because he thought he was being punished and deserves a fair trial rather than trying to figure out another reason for everything happening. just because bad things are happening doesn’t mean we’re being punished and it doesn’t always mean we’re being tested. I believe it to be wise if we search out ourselves and try to figure out if I was trying to teach you something or if he is trying to discipline us. Either way we are still under the eyes of a merciful and loving God

  16. 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Job states what we all feel when we are consumed with pain and grief. We have to make ourselves available to be tested and tried by God. Even when we don’t see him I know he is working on me. Even when we can’t feel him we know he is working. He is the way maker and knowing when we go through the fire, like Job stated in verse 10 we will come forth like gold. All the impurities and all the hindrances will be taken away from us.

Seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness and he will give us everything we need to go through this old world.

    I love the Kingdom!

  17. ““But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭23:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Those that are strong and faithful. Find pleasure in keeping and knowing that all that have been tested can still stand firm and un-moved. We have kept his ways. Guided by his hand himself. We had been pushed and tested. Still standing.

I can’t live without the Word of God. How did I get into my twenties alive? His Word is so necessary for life. It’s the breath in my lungs and food that I need. Trials are necessary to prove and strengthen things. If you go through a trial you have the decision of become worse off and bitter or sticking close to God and allowing the trials of life to refine you and remove the impurities in your life. Hallelujah!

  19. iLove the Kingdom
Job 23:6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

Job starts off by seeking God’s presence. “Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!” But Job has understanding that if he did find God, he would not be judged. Verse 6 reveals this to us by Job declaring God would not plead against him but he would in fact put strength in him. There is no condemnation in Him, only forgiveness and strength when we come to God and actually “find” him.

So many folks out there are afraid of God in a negative way. They think God is going to bring up all the past but that is not the God I know…The God I know will strengthen you and not knock you down.

  20. 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

God knows me says Job! He knows what I’m made of! I have lived according to His commandments. Job is aware that God is just testing him and at the end he will come out as the finest gold, but at the same time, he knows how much it hurts to be out of His presence. Yearns to be with Him, to hear His voice just one more time!!!! Job must feel like God has forgotten him. That most be the greatest feeling of loneliness and I don’t want that. That’s one of the reasons that speaking in tongues daily is important to me. For me, when I pray, and I pray in the Holy Ghost by speaking in tongues it’s a reassurance that God is in me!!! He has not left me nor forgotten me and at the end He will give me the VICTORY!!! Just knowing that makes my heart jump in joy. It gives me strength that when I am going through a storm, let it be a test that the Lord has put in my way or an obstacle that the enemy has thrown either way I know I am NOT ALONE FOR HE IS WITH ME!!!! THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE ME NOR FORSAKE ME!!!

  21. “But He knows the way that I take [and He pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I will come forth as [refined] gold [pure and luminous]. My feet have carefully followed His steps; I have kept His ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have kept the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭23:10-12‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In order to refine gold; it is placed in a fire, and stirred and skimmed to remove all of its impurities. Yet the value of the gold is never hurt in the process, it might even gain value.

When we are placed in the fire, and we are being stirred and tried by situations in life, it will not take away value from our life. But if we keep the faith and continue to pursue after Him, it will add value and take away impurities, we will gain more than what we had before the fire.

“I’ve come through the fire, I’ve come through the rain
But God, He never left my side
He’s my comfort through all hurt and pain
I am souled out, I am souled out”

  22. Job 23:2-7 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

Jehovah our God Almighty knows what kind of seeds that HE had planted in Job’s heart that is why I FEEL God is giving Job cactuses to grow because God knows there’s gonna be a beautiful flower that comes out on that cactus but it hurts emotionally bc we don’t know if that pain is from a thorn or something else that’s why I need to trust God.

For everything from seeds, to thorns and flowers

Job watered those seeds daily now when Job was in his trial he did have a drought or two, but he never gave his seed to the birds Job kept them in his heart, I feel like Job knew those birds would not return the olive branch that he was looking for so he kept watering them with his tears and pleadings to God Job feared God and has a love for doing what’s right Love can’t grow without relationship.
Cactuses don’t need a lot of water to survive because they hold it.
People and animals will try to cut the cactus to get water out of it.
Kinda like the woman at the well….

Matthew 6: 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
~> sometimes we just don’t need to know what the right the left hand are doing
I just need to make sure not to get out of God hands

I’m not understanding why I feel I need to keep going back to KINGS ~> 2 Kings 10:15-16 And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot. And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot. And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.

  23. “For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.”
    Job 23:14 KJV

“For God maketh my heart soft…”
    Job 23:16a KJV

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
    Romans 8:28 KJV

God has a plan for each of us, to make our hearts soft before Him that we might seek after Him with all our hearts and do what is right and profitable in His sight. His plan may not always feel good at the time, but it always IS good for us in the end. We must learn to trust the plan of God, even when we don’t understand it or particularly like it—even when it is painful. God’s way is always best. He never brings pain unless it is intended for good.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
    Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬13 KJV

  24. 16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

Sometimes we see what we don’t want to see and it troubles us. We think it may have been better not to have known at all. But God doesn’t always shelter us from seeing the darkness, the trials, and the pain. Sometimes we need to see that to know what we’ve been through. To help us better appreciate the opposite side when we get out. He will not always shelter us or cover our face. We need to see the darkness to comprehend the process.

  25. 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

Our ways and will are not God’s, only God’s ways are right and he is righteous, wonderful, and merciful.

  26. 8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

  27. 6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

Know where to get your strength from! Yes, there may be consequences to face or trials to bear but the outcome outweighs it all!

  28. 3 If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his court. 4 I would lay out my case
    and present my arguments.

This is the problem for many, they want to physically see an object they can believe in.They would go to this idle and pray to it. Since they can see it, touch it, and they can find it. And many say God is just a figure of our imagination. If you can’t see it, it does not exist.

  29. 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

He knows us and knows what he needs to do to help each of us make it to heaven. He tries and tests us and when he is finished we shall co e forth as gold. I’m thankful he isn’t finished with me yet!

  30. 3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

I should be more grateful that i know that i found god. Others in the world might think they found him but in reality they are being mislead. To know that i can go to pofw and worship him and learn to worship him better each day is amazing and im thankful.

  31. 13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

HE IS ALIVE AND WELL!!! ………..

  32. 23:14 For he performers the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
    ——
Him and only Him. All glory to God.

  33. Job 23:2, “Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

This made me think of our memory verse we are learning in Kingdom Cadet class.
Jeremiah 29:13, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” and verse 14 says, “And I will be found of you, saith the LORD…”

  34. Job answered eliphaz that he was not cut off before the darkness neither did he pull away from the darkness.

  35. 6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

  36. But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind? Whatever he wants to do, he does. So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny.
    Job 23:13‭-‬14 NLT
He controls my destiny! It’s good to know we serve a God who works all things together for good! Even when we mess up God can redeem our failures. He’s bigger than all my mistakes.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
    Psalms 73:26 KJV
God’s will will be done! The book of Job clearly shows us God has the final say in our lives. It’s not the devil’s fault, not man’s fault, and not our circumstances’ fault if we miss out with God. We choose life or death, heaven or hell, blessings or curses. God is not willing that any should perish but if man continually chooses to go his own way, God will allow it.

  37. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE WILL OF GOD

13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

In Kingdom Ministry, the term or phrase is spoken often. “I want the will of GOD”. This is an outstanding approach to serving JESUS. However what I witnessed all too often is that once people realize the price tag; commitment involved, then “I want the will of GOD” takes its place behind other commitments of business, family and recreation.

Discerning the “Will of GOD” for our lives is not hard, fulfilling the “Will of GOD” in our lives is where the challenge appears. We must earnestly seek the Face of GOD to know the “way we should take”. The Will of GOD will not change as we learn from this passage in Job.

He (GOD) is in ONE mind and WHO can turn HIM?

The Will of GOD will not change for our lives, our willingness may wane and waiver, but the Will of GOD remains unchanged. GOD is not confused or uncertain, it is me oh LORD standing in the need of Prayer.

If we ever feel like GOD is changing HIS mind or HIS will for our lives, please remember this verse. If JESUS called you to do something for HIM, then HE did not change HIS mind or HIS will. We must rise above the doubt and conquer the fear, overcome the flesh and submit to the Spirit.

The spirit that drives this thinking is deception.

I feel strongly today that satan is tempting someone with this thought:

“Its too hard for me to do and it must not be the will of GOD.”

I speak to you today that “you can do ALL Things through Christ that strengthens you”.

    Rise UP

  38. MSG 10-12 “But he knows where I am and what I’ve done.
He can cross-examine me all he wants, and I’ll pass the test
    with honors.
I’ve followed him closely, my feet in his footprints,
not once swerving from his way.
I’ve obeyed every word he’s spoken,
and not just obeyed his advice—I’ve treasured it.

How do we treat the Lord? Do we only follow close when we have a need, or do we follow close everyday? Longing for communion and fellowship with Him? Longing to hear what He has to say for the day?
Many of us are so guilty at times, of just spouting off my needs and wants, and then moving on, checking off that time as “done.”

We must learn how to treasure the opportunity we have each day to spend time with Jesus, at His feet, in His presence, not asking for what we want, but worshipping Him, and ministering to Him. He created us to have fellowship on a daily basis with, walk with us in the cool of the day just like He did with Adam and Eve. We were created with a will that we would choose that relationship over other things as a sign unto God that we want and treasure that time. That s the whole purpose for our creation, to bring pleasure to the Lord in our fellowship.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

  39. “But He knows the way that I take [and He pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I will come forth as [refined] gold [pure and luminous].”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭23:10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

God uses the trials we go through in this life to mold us into the servants He wants us to be. When God makes us go through the fire, He removes everything about us that doesn’t give Him glory. It can be friends, attitudes, or some things about our personality. The tests God makes us go through will not always be easy, but we can trust Him and keep moving forward into His path.

  40. ““But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.”

Here is another bright flash of faith upon a generally black background. Job admitted that he could not get through to God, yet clung to the confidence that God was still over this crisis.

  41. 8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

  42. 6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

  43. I would present my case before Him, And fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which He would answer me, And understand what He would say to me. Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me.
    Job 23:4‭-‬6 NKJV

Sometimes all one wants are answers. Just plain answers or explanation that may give some understanding. The truth however, is that during the trial there are not many answers. But rather our response is what causes an action in God. What will be the response to the hardship. What will be the response to anything. In all things give thanks for that is the will of God. Offer the sacrifice of praise when you don’t know and don’t understand, that is the fruit of your lips giving thanks unto His Name.

  44. The struggle between flesh and spirit, fear and faith, throughout this chapter.

Zechariah 14:6,7 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass that at evening time it shall be light.

  45. 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
With lifes trials they can be a test in our faith and trusting God. As gold from a furnace I will come out trial purified. May the fire on my alter never burn out.

  46. ““But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭23:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The trials and valleys are building you up. If you never had problems for God to solve how would our faith grow in Him? Just as fire purifies pure gold so will the fire of the test.
