Job 36

Elihu also proceeded, and said,

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

  1. If people are bound with chains
    and trapped by the cords of affliction,
    God tells them what they have done
    and how arrogantly they have transgressed.
    He opens their ears to correction
    and insists they repent from iniquity.
    If they serve Him obediently,
    they will end their days in prosperity
    and their years in happiness.
    But if they do not obey,
    they will cross the river of death
    and die without knowledge.
    Those who have a godless heart harbor anger;
    even when God binds them, they do not cry for help.
    They die in their youth;
    their life ends among male cult prostitutes.
    God rescues the afflicted by their affliction;
    He instructs them by their torment.
    Indeed, He lured you from the jaws of distress
    to a spacious and unconfined place.
    Your table was spread with choice food.
    Yet now you are obsessed with the judgment due the wicked;
    judgment and justice have seized you.
    Be careful that no one lures you with riches;
    do not let a large ransom lead you astray.
    Can your wealth or all your physical exertion
    keep you from distress?
    Do not long for the night
    when nations will disappear from their places.
    Be careful that you do not turn to iniquity,
    for that is why you have been tested by affliction.
    Look, God shows Himself exalted by His power.
    Who is a teacher like Him?
    Who has appointed His way for Him,
    and who has declared, “You have done wrong”?
    Remember that you should praise His work,
    which people have sung about.
    All mankind has seen it;
    people have looked at it from a distance.
    Yes, God is exalted beyond our knowledge;
    the number of His years cannot be counted.
    For He makes waterdrops evaporate;
    they distill the rain into its mist,
    which the clouds pour out
    and shower abundantly on mankind. Remember that you should praise His work,
    which people have sung about.
    All mankind has seen it;
    people have looked at it from a distance.
    Yes, God is exalted beyond our knowledge;
    the number of His years cannot be counted.

  2. “Take a long, hard look. See how great he is—infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out!
    Job 36:26 MSG
    there is so much more in depth of GOD to know. What I have seen, touched and tasted of Him has been just a small morsel of His love and beauty. It is up to everyone to dig deeper, to search the beauty of GOD Almighty in His Holiness 💕
    As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water, I truly am thirsty for you, my God. In my heart, I am thirsty for you, the living God. When will I see your face?
    Psalms 42:1‭-‬2 CEV

  3. Verses 26-33 in the MSG is captioned “No One Can Escape from God”. Verse 26 says “Take a long, hard look. See how great he is—infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out!” God knows all things, all thoughts, all feelings, all heart desires, all words spoken and not spoken. It is our choice what we do and when we do it. Lord I pray that you guide and be in the midst of every step, every word, every thought and let my every desire be focused on you and First The Kingdom.

  4. Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

    3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

    4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

    5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

  5. God is mighty and powerful and mighty in strength and Jesus has wisdom and you can speak to Jesus if you need forgiveness or help and he perfect for knowledge so not all Jesus words are true.

  6. 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

    Clouds have always been a symbol of God’s Presence. When He led them out of Egypt He showed Himself as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Ex. 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 2 Ch 5:14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

    A cloud it’s formed by an accumulation of tiny drops of water,(vapor). Water is baptism, cleansing of our sin, death and resurrection when we come out. Elihu keeps talking about a great God, a mighty God, and the need for repentance. We are nothing without God, He is Powerful but merciful to forgive us if we repent. Elihu Is trying so hard to show his knowledge and proof his point. Sometimes, when we testify, we want to proof our point so bad we forget that to love the person. Accusations never take anyone anywhere but to death of their spirit. Uplift, show God’s love, and guide with actions. Thank you Jesus for your death and resurrection!! You gave us VICTORY for ever.

  7. 2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.
    3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

    We should be careful not to be so quick to speak on God’s behalf. While God does need us to be his conduits for his words and love, we can easily confused our words with his, to justify ourselves. As much as Paul instructs us to not to lay hands neither should we be as quick to speak, unless we know it lines us with the word of God and it is not only applicable to the situation but appropriate. We can easily use the word of God to manipulate others and hurt and justify it by misinterpretating the scripture. This is why we must be careful to allow God to speak to us, more than thru us.

  8. 11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

    12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

    First the kingdom in obedience-

    Elihu continued his speaking toward Job and began to say things that truly would make one to stop and listen. Verse 11 we find that he stated the facts of obedience- obey God and prosper, or disobey Him and you shall die by the sword.

    Under the old covenant, prosperity was promised to the righteous and even to the repentant. Even under the new covenant when any such promise is made, it is carefully guarded. While in the passages of scripture this promise is usually opposite character- usually the righteous are to told to expect such tribulations and persecutions.

    Mark 10:29-31 states

    29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

    While we live in this old sinful world, we have a choice to make, we either obey the word of God and the authority of the pastor that is over us or simply we will die without knowing knowledge. To me this simply means that we can comply with the order and submit ourselves to the authority of the word of God and God himself. I can tell you it’s easy in accordance to God’s word- submit and gain blessings. For if we do not obey the word of God, disobedience is simply rebellion to the highest degree and our days will be numbered.

    I love the kingdom!

  9. Job 36
    Angry people without God pile grievance upon grievance,
    always blaming others for their troubles.

    Anger Management
    If you notice here the scripture says angry people without God. What about those of us who have God. One of the first lessons in Anger Managenent is it’s ok to be angry . It’s just what we do with our anger is what gets numerous people in trouble.

    Grievance after grievance pile up bitterness pain dysfunctional thinking all become a part of life. Elihu is telling Job don’t let all the suffering what he is experiencing be blamed on others.

    21 [Take heed/Be careful], [regard not iniquity/do not turn to evil]:
    [for this/for because of this] hast thou [chosen rather than/been tested by] affliction.

    Tests come. We can think it’s from sin , satan, or God.
    Wherever it is coming from died not in reality matter. God is The beginning. God is the Ending.
    And I believe He is the all between . Easy to pass the test sometimes No no no other times yes.
    It all goes back to The Anger Management lesson 4 Dysfunctional thinking. If I can put on the mind of Christ not just once but every day then my thinking really begins to change Do we get it right every time absolutely not! But when we recognize what we did wrong is one of the greatest steps of changing my self not others. God gives us the greatest asset from the beginning of time. Choice. So if I’ve done my best and don’t make a perfect score have I failed. Absolutely not. The test the trying I believe Elihu is trying to say is just go through it. So much more to say here . Job hold ion
    there is a blessing coming soon . You may not see it right now but God truly sees you. Keep the faith for with God all things are possible without the challenges of impossible we would never know the power of God “s Possible!!!!

  10. “God is leading you away from danger, Job, to a place free from distress. He is setting your table with the best food.

    God supplies all our needs. In the lowest valley or on the highest mountain our God is Supreme! You are amazing, my King!!!

  11. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    MIGHTY GOD

    5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

    Over the past 8 months GOD has daily poured into my spirit to lead myself and The POFW to revelation and realization of the Power in and of HIS Kingdom. GOD is Mighty! To seek FIRST The KINGDOM of GOD is to inquire of and wait on HIM to give instructions. At times HIS instructions are for one move and at others, HE lays out a plan to follow.

    GOD is really not that hard to find, the challenge comes through submission and obedience to what HE says. Revelation of HIS Wisdom is imperative. We fall to grave danger when we trust statistics, dollars, titles or positions, people, possessions or books other than the BIBLE more than we TRUST The Mighty GOD.

    There is no problem too strong, nor problem to difficult for JESUS the Mighty GOD to solve or resolve.

    Whatever we face today GOD IS MIGHTY. Whatever we need today GOD IS MIGHTY. Seek HIM First and we will realize that there is no need to seek any other.

  12. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

    Hallelujah, we serve a great God. The only living God, powerful and mighty. He is so great. I dont know where I would be without Him. He saved me, He raised, He filled me with the Holy Ghost, and He has healed my brokeness. HE IS MY LOVE. I want Him, so therefore I must seek Him. I seek after Him daily, the first of my fruits goes to Him.

    Seek ye first after God and His Kingdom. You will be a blessed nation. You and your family will prosper.

  13. 21. In short, be careful! Do not turn your life toward evil ways- which you have preferred to hearing God’s correcting voice in the midst of your suffering. Voice

    How many times have we seen it happen – instead of receiving correction from God (usually through the man of God), people seek another voice, choosing to soothe their ears with words of comfort rather than prick their heart with words of truth.

    2 Timothy 4:
    3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. KJV

  14. 24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

    We are living testimonies. What are e saying to others about Jesus? When they read the story of our lives everyday by what we live out loud, what are we saying? Are we telling them by our actions that we love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength? Are we telling them that we are souled our to God?

    Our lives should reflect who we really are and what we are about.

    I want to be a living testimony, holy and acceptable unto Him which is my reasonable service

  15. 36:10 HE OPENETH ALSO THEIR EAR TO DISCIPLINE, and
    Commanders that they return from I inquiry.
    ———
    I thank God for correction, I thank God for His mercy and kindness, God will show us what in what area of our life we are felling, and if so , if we ignore Him, thenHe will chastised us…. because we are His children.
    Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord🙌
    …. let us hear what the Spirit says …

  16. Job 37: 26 [ Amp] Behold , God is great, and we know Him not! The number of His years is unsearchable.
    1 Corinthians 13:14] For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim ( blurred) reflection
    [ of reality as in a riddle or enigma] but then [ when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face ! Now I know in part ( imperfectly) , but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly know and understood [ By God]. I know that faith, hope, love abide ( faith conviction and belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things; Hope, joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; Love true affection for God and man , growing our of God’s love for and in us.These three ; But greatest of these is Love. I want more of him , I seek him first and I will find him. He not hard to find if you seek him first. I bless,you and your family in Jesus name.

  17. 31 By these mighty acts he nourishes the people, giving them food in abundance. NLT

    Mighty Acts!
    Unfortunately, we can take for granted the little things the Lord does cause they don’t seem “mighty” in our eyes. Yet, any ACT by The King is Mighty. Find Joy in the Mighyt Acts of the Lord Today!

  18. 31 By these mighty acts he nourishes the people, giving them food in abundance. NLT

    Mighty Acts!

  19. 9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
    10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
    11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
    12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

    There is always hope with the Lord…as long as there is breath, there is the possibility that we can repent and turn from our wicked ways and be saved. Even as this world becomes more and more unjust/evil, God will have a church until the day he takes us home. Thank you Lord for reaching for the lost and a church that is about your kingdom.

  20. Be careful that you do not turn to iniquity, for that is why you have been tested by affliction.
    Job 36:21 HCSB

    When I was younger, I used to hear these sirens on the radio. Before the siren, the announcer would say, “This is a test of the emergency broadcast system… This is only a test.” For some reason that stuck with me, and throughout life I’ve often thought, “This is a test. This is only a test. It will not last forever. This, too, shall pass. I got through the last test. I will get through this one too.”

    Nobody likes tests—especially tests of affliction. Tests come in all sizes and all durations, but all are designed to be passed. We are often guilty of seeing our brother’s test as easier and less painful than our own, yet we fail to acknowledge that every man’s test is tailor made to try his own temptations and lusts.

    Job’s test was long and extremely painful. It brought things to the surface of his heart that he probably didn’t even know were there. It challenged his faith, his relationships, his securities, his self-esteem, and his beliefs. However, when it was done, he knew God like he had never known Him before.

    That is how we should walk away from every test: knowing God better; loving Him more. That is the only way to pass the test. Two outcomes: bitter or better. If bitter, we fail, and our iniquities overtake us. If better, we pass and enjoy His presence like we never have before.

  21. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

    6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

    7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

  22. If we are not with God we can not go to heaven. If you look at the Bible and read it you will find that every thing in the Bible links together and says you will be saved and God loves you.

    God Bless Y’all

  23. Job 36:26 (NLT), “Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted.”

    “Look, God is greater than we can understand.”
    Psalms 145:3 says, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”

    “His years cannot be counted.”
    Deut. 33:27 calls God “the Eternal God.” Eternal means lasting and existing forever; without end or beginning.”
    Psalms 90:2 says, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”

  24. iLove the Kingdom
    Job 36:32  With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

    Wow, God works in the night! The key to understanding how God Works in the night is to know that the darkness is not the same as the darkness of the devil. Before the devil ever existed, I believe there was darkness. A Christian can be in a dark place and not sin. Just ask brother Job, Brother Joseph, brother Daniel, and Paul and Silas.

  25. “Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted.
    Job 36:26 NLT
    GOD is greater than we can understand because our finite minds cannot wrap around His infinite power and existence. He is from everlasting to everlasting! He has no beginning or ending yet He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending and everything in between! When searching for answers when our first baby girl was taken back to heaven, God shared this Scripture with us:
    O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
    Romans 11:33 KJV
    Some things are beyond us and we can’t figure them out but there are things we do know and can Hold on to in times of trouble. We know that God is faithful and has our best interests in mindAnd no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. God is for us and his faithfulness is to all generations. We can trust Him (His heart)when we cannot see His hand!

  26. “Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭36:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    It can’t be said any better than this!
    Starting my walk with God I couldn’t and didn’t understand trial and tribulations. I thought it was all the enemy. No this book here says God lifted the hedge of protection from Job and to me I see God saying “now you say you’re a man of integrity but what will you do when I lift this hedge” Job has been tested over and over and his faith is still in the Lord. Like Jesus breaking the curse of sin and death Jobs about to break something for himself. We know the end we know he gets double blessed and this is the perfect example for us to understand that it’s not the Devil always giving is a bad day but GOD preparing something for us even greater at the end of our “test”
    Look ahead and remember who lifted the hedge and remember there’s something more to come in Jesus name!

  27. Ifs slot of IFS those are some of the mercies that GOD gives us daily!!! It is time to stand up and reduce the sin in our lives, because we sin and fall short some how, if not then we wouldn’t need JESUS……THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM TO GROW…..Thank you JESUS FOR YOUR MERCY!!!

  28. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

    God is mightier, higher, greater, than anything we could ever come against. Seek Him, seek His wisdom and He will lead you in righteousness!

  29. “He pulls water up out of the sea, distills it, and fills up his rain-cloud cisterns. Then the skies open up and pour out soaking showers on everyone. Does anyone have the slightest idea how this happens? How he arranges the clouds, how he speaks in thunder? Just look at that lightning, his sky-filling light show illumining the dark depths of the sea! These are the symbols of his sovereignty, his generosity, his loving care. He hurls arrows of light, taking sure and accurate aim. The High God roars in the thunder, angry against evil.”
    Job 36:27‭-‬33 MSG
    https://bible.com/bible/97/job.36.27-33.MSG

    Let there be light…. He pin points where it goes!

  30. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

    God is mighty in every aspect. His strength and wisdom is far beyond our understanding because we are the creation and He is the creator. I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to be on the winning side in this life time to set me up to be on the winning side for eternity.

  31. I will present profound arguments for the righteousness of my Creator. I am telling you nothing but the truth, for I am a man of great knowledge..
    Job 36:3‭-‬4 NLT

    Are we speaking nothing but the Truth? Are we speaking Jesus. He is the truth and the Way. May our conversations shed light and speak the truth daily.

  32. Job 36:2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

    Job 36:3-4 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee. Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
    Job 36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

    Fetter:
    fet’-er: Found only in the plural in both Old Testament and New Testament; fetters of iron (Ps 105:18; 149:8; so probably Mr 5:4; Lu 8:29) or brass (Jud 16:21; 2Ki 25:7) were frequently used for securing prisoners.
    Figurative: of trouble

    1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV
    [33] For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

  33. 7 He never takes his eyes off the innocent, but he sets them on thrones with kings
    and exalts them forever.

    The innocent or the righteous. Yes, God is seeing over you. He will heal you when your sick. He will bless financially when you give. He will protect when you are in danger. All you have to do is ask in prayer, and God will provide in his time.
