Genesis 21

And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.

12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:

23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

24 And Abraham said, I will swear.

25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.

26 And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.

27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.

28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?

30 And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.

31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.

32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.

33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.

34 And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines’ land many days.

  1. 15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

Trust the holy spirit, God has everything under control. Please God let my faith grow as big as the lad and others in this chapter. Make my flesh silent so I can hear your word. Amen

  2. Verses 1-2 AMP “The Lord graciously remembered and visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for her as He had promised. So Sarah conceived and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.” God keeps his promises in his timing, not ours; so wait upon the Lord for……. God is good!

Genesis 12:2 AMP “And [a]I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you [abundantly], And make your name great (exalted, distinguished); And you shall be a blessing [a source of great good to others];”.

Joshua 21:45 CEV “The Lord promised to do many good things for Israel, and he kept his promise every time.”

Psalm 57:2 NLT “I cry out to God Most High,[a] to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.”

  3. Then she sat down a long way off, because she could not bear to watch him die. And she cried bitterly. When God heard the boy crying, the angel of God called out to Hagar from heaven and said, “Hagar, why are you worried? Don’t be afraid. I have heard your son crying. Help him up and hold his hand, because I will make him the father of a great nation.” Then God let her see a well. So she went to the well and filled the skin with water, then gave some to her son.
    Genesis 21:16‭-‬19 CEV

Sometimes we take matters into our own hands. We have forgotten the promises of God that He has spoken into our lives. It’s time to remember His prophetic word spoken into our lives. Remind Him of His word and be thankful, even in your darkest day. You’ll see that He is FAITHFUL 💕

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
    Numbers 23:19 KJV

  4. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
    Genesis 21:17-20

This reminds me of what was preached at NAYC. There is a Lad Here. There are young Lads that have the potential to bring lifes together. God will protect them and give them strength. All they need to do is Believe, trust, and obey God. I Do believe that this generation Z is a strong generation. I pray they believe it too.

  5. 21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

Egypt Creeping in again which is a form of flash .

  6. 19. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

    2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

God knows what we need before we need it.
His provision is often already in place, we just need to stop looking at the problem and start looking to Him first.

  7. 13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

Instead of only one nation Israel, because God’s promises are always yes and amen; He blesses Ishmael with a nation which are the now Palestine Nation and are always against the Israel Nation that was born of Isaac. Because Sarah had to take things on her own hands and try to “help” God instead of believing and having the faith to wait upon the Lord. That caused the fact that there is never peace in the Persian Gulf. Always Brother against brother. We should stand with Israel and continue to pray and Bless Israel!! In Jesus Name Amen

  8. 5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

    Nehemiah 8:10b
“. . . neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
When life gets hard and we are ready to throw in the towel or settle on disbelief, that is when God intervenes and brings the joy unspeakable.

7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

When life gets to a point when other people or we ourselves think we can’t deal, can’t handle, can’t push through he proves us wrong and proves everyone else wrong. Not only does he give us joy that gives us strength but he brings something new into our lives that is new, exciting, and life changing.

  9. Genesis 21 :12-13 [Amp] God said to Abraham, Do not let it seem to grievous and evil to you because of the youth and bondwomen; in all that Sarah has said to you , Do what she asks, for in Isaac shall your posterity be called. Abraham is called the father of the Hebrew race. His son Isaac was born when Isamael was fifteen years old. Sarah’s impatience provoked problems. And they are not all the children of Abraham because they are by blood his descendants , No , [ the promise was]Your descendants will be called and counted through the line of Isaac [ through Abraham had an older son. I thank God for our youth , Keep them safe and protected from any harm. Arise, raise up the youth Lord bless our youth and bless familys.

  10. “The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised. She became pregnant, and she gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭21:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Through all the doubt. And through all the years of not having an answer, through the years dealing felt left out. God still came back and answered his promises. He is true and will keep you. Stay faithful you’ll see it come to pass.

  11. 1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

No matter what the lord promised, he is always going to follow through on it every time all the time. We have to be sensitive enough to make sure that the words we hear are God’s. We have to be aware of everything around us, because we do not need anything to consume us to redirect our attention else where. We have to seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness in obedience to get all that he has for us. Scripture stated that if we Abbie in him and he abides in us, ask what you will and it shall be done.

When we trust God and have faith, it doesn’t matter the the time we think he will do it, but he will do it in his own time. It was about 25 years when God made the covenant with Abraham that he would have a seed that would bring forth a great nation. So don’t get discouraged and give up, your miracle, blessing, and all that God has promised you is on its way.

    I love the kingdom!

  12. 23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24 And Abraham said, I will swear.

Loyalty, it doesn’t matter how talented and good you are at anything, what people truly need is loyalty. Abimelech didn’t ask for any of Abraham riches, but he made a covenant with him that Abraham would not deal falsely with him, loyalty. Nothing can substitute or replace it. You don’t have to be a certain way it have anything to be loyal. It’s somethinge that everyone must choose in there walk with God. It’s the best thing you can ever give anyone. It requires nothing to have but demands everything to give. It’s one of the few things every human has to offer and should.

  13. iLove the Kingdom
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

You see, God has a sense of humor. God is the original comedian. The Word says, “God hath made me to laugh.” Ha, I even found myself laughing with Sarah this morning as well…Happy for Sariah that she finally received her little bundle of joy after all those years…but we all know this one thing y’all, it’s ok for family to laugh together, but it is not ok for the adversary to laugh. This is what Ishmael did. He mocked Sarah and Isaac and ended up getting the boot.

  14. Genesis 21

  15. And Abraham lived as a foreigner in Philistine country for a long time.
    Genesis 21:34 NLT

We are exiles. We are foreigners in this world. We’re strangers in this land. We’re not meant to blend in. We’re meant to stand out. Come out from among them and be ye separate, the Lord says!

  16. Genesis 21
6 Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” 7

    God keeps His promises.
    Laughter will come.
Weeping may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning .

The joy of the Lord is my strength .

He has turned my mourning into dancing .

If we proclaim as Pastor Watts preached I believe each step will bring us closer to God’s promises.
We look through the eyes of the natural when God is wanting us to see with His eyes. Sarah could not fathom how God would actually bring to her a son and God had declared she would be the birth mom.
Laughter came to her . Many times during trying times I will pray give me my Issac, give me laughter. We must continue to look into the face of Jesus knowing He is the joy and He will fulfill His promises.
Praise Him for all He has done and is doing. Sarah tried to take matters into her own hands and caused some heartaches for herself and those close to her.
In God’s Timing if He promised He will bring it to past. Thank you Jesus

  17. 11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.

The promises of God are forever. As we see here both of Abraham’s sons were blessed to be fruitful. When we seek after God, he will bless all that we have. We must seek Him to please Him and want him to be like Him.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

  18. “God said to Abraham, “Do not let it distress you because of Ishmael and your maid; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her and do what she asks, for your descendants will be named through Isaac. And I will also make a nation of [Ishmael] the son of the maid, because he is your descendant.” So Abraham got up early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she left [but lost her way] and wandered [aimlessly] in the Wilderness of Beersheba.”
    ‭‭GENESIS‬ ‭21:12-14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It may have seemed ruthless of Abraham to do this, but it was exactly what God wanted.

  19. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    ENOUGH

10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

There is a point that we all reach when we recognize a point of correction in a situation of conflict. Sarah witnessed her son being challenged by her servants son and she said ENOUGH.

There are “thorns in our flesh” that will abide to maintain humility, but there are also spurs from bad decisions that will prick us to the point of separation. Knowing when to say ENOUGH is imperative to PEACE in our spirit, family and home.

Decisions as such are not easy to make, but when we make them things change. Whatever challenge you are facing today; is it something you created from a bad choice that you can cast out or is it a thorn from JESUS to keep you grounded and rooted in HIM through humility.

  20. 1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

This whole chapter is a good chapter, I love how God just keeps his promises, his word is as good as gold, and no amount of trying to sway him, because his word is a foundation, it’s everlasting, and when all things are passed away, when the earth is destroyed Gods word will stand! That’s why we can trust in his Word, his Precepts, His promises. He wants us to be the same, he wants our words and intentions to be just as valued as his. He wants people to know that when we say yes that’s what we mean and they already know it’s done, and also our nose to be the same! Integrity is what’s important and honesty. Thank you Jesus for your word!

    First The Kingdom
When life is GOOD…God is good!

  21. Genesis 21:6 And Sarah said, God has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

Psalm 126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

Luke 1:58 And her neighbors and her cousins heard how the Lord had showed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

The mercy filled Sarah with joy and wonder.

God’s promised mercies will certainly come at the time which He sets, and that is the best time.

I will rejoice and again I say rejoice!
We must trust God and be obedient in every area of our life, things we don’t understand .

  22. Sarah and Abraham had a son and named him Isaac. As the years went by Isaac became to be eight years old as hot Abraham was one hundred years old. Isaac was me the to be a whole other generation. God was always speaking to Sarah and Abraham. Sarah and Abraham were very obedient and listened to what God had to tell them. LISTEN TO WHAT GOD HAS TO SAY POFW!!!😁😁😁😁

  23. 1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

What God speaks will always come to pass, we just have to claim it and believe it!

  24. Even when we get into a tough situation, God is still able to provide. We may not even understand why we go through different trials, but if our faith in God remains stable, he will bring us out every time. Distractions around us can cause us to loose faith in our father. People around can cause us to loose faith in God. By us obeying his word, we can remain strong and vigilant. It is in him that we gain strength to go against the enemy whenever he comes our way.

  25. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Everyone always tries to run God in there time and in the process of trying to run God I’m there time the fall to sin and risk there promise. But if we get kingdom minded and wait on the lord and allow him to do what he wants to do in his time watch what God will do

  26. 26 And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.

I’m not sure when we are deceived into believing that leadership; rather church, parental, or even work/school can read minds. We complain about issues amongst peers and the issue is never resolved. Then when it becomes too much to handle and it all begins to blow up, we want to blame the leadership.

I’m sure Pastor has experienced verse 26 numerous times. NLT says it like this ‘This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Abimelech answered. “I have no idea who is responsible. You have never complained about this before.”

Instead of coming to him at the point of frustration, why not communicate and offer solutions to the problem. Keeping the UNITY and working together to seek FIRST the Kingdom!

  27. 16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

God heard and responded to the voice of the lad, not the weeping mother. While he heard Hagar weep for her son, it was Ishmael’s voice he responded to. The promise was to Abraham’s seed and Ishmael had a promise from God on his life. We as God’s children whether adult or child, have a promise on our lives and He will hear our faintest cry. We are his heirs and he will not withhold any good thing from us. He knows our need even before we pray, so pray for someone who does not know the awesome God we serve.

  28. 16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child.

Circumstances that Ishmael did not choose were being forced upon he and his mother. His mother was sorrowful as well because she didn’t choose these circumstances either. However, God was faithful. He made provision for them, and gave her a promise for her son, the outcast.

God can turn around situations that we may have messed up and show us the blessing and favor that can come from it.

  29. Genesis 21:16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

    *Bowshot

Genesis 21:18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

19 ¶ And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

    * Matthew 18:12-14 KJV
[12] How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? [13] And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep , than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. [14] Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. …

2Sam 22:24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. 25 Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight. 26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. 27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury. 28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. 29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. 30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. 31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 32 For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? 33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. 35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. 36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. 37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

  30. 19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

All sarah was asking for was to fill up her bottle with water but god went beyond and gave her a well of water. When we need something whether it be thick or thin its all the same to good as long as you praise his name and call unto him he will provide an abundance.

  31. “For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭21:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Gods Word is true! You can trust and know for sure that whatever God says it is truth. He’s not a man that he should lie. His Word is a solid foundation that we can stand on.

  32. Genesis 21:10a & 14b-19
    10) Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son:…

    14) … and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
    15) And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
    16) And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up here voice, and wept.
    17) And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
    18) Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
    19) And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

There are a lot of people in this world today who fell like an “Outcast” and are despondent. They feel hopeless, depressed, oppressed, downhearted, discouraged, and all they see is death in their situation and life.
We must PRAY for the “Outcasts and the Despondent.” PRAY that God would “open their eyes” so they may see the “well,” the “Living Water,” the “Fountain of Life,” which is JESUS CHRIST. So that they may come and drink and never thirst again. So that they make come and drink and be refreshed and find life, and have it more abundantly in JESUS CHRIST.

  33. As I hold on to him , Jesus my reedemer , there’s strength in his name

    JESUS !!

But God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants.” Then God opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well full of water. She quickly filled her water container and gave the boy a drink. And God was with the boy as he grew up in the wilderness. He became a skillful archer, and he settled in the wilderness of Paran. His mother arranged for him to marry a woman from the land of Egypt.

Abraham was sad to give up Ishmael. But God told Abraham it would be better for both Abraham and Ishmael for Ishmael and his mother to leave. Abraham obeyed God, and the situation turned out better for both Abraham and the promised son Isaac, and Ishmael, who became father of a great nation.

  35. 1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

God always keeps his word and he’s always on time.

  37. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Ishmael didn’t ask to be put in that situation, he was now being punished for something he could not control.

But in his darkest hour, God heard him. He gave him a promise and made a way for him and his mother.

    We serve a faithful God!

  38. The birth of Isaac
One of the many fulfilling promises God made.
It reminds me that his word is fulfilling, His promises do come to pass and He WONT fail you.

Look how God opens Hager’s eyes and directs her to the sight of a well of water
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
This is the same water given to Israel the one that is going to made into a great nation. “So God was with the lad” (well of water).

Gods directing us to everlasting life!

  39. What will you do when your mistake stares you right in the face?

“And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭21:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It was Sarah’s idea for this arrangement of mixed families to be in the first place. Remember it was Sarah that told Abraham to go into the bond woman. Now I understand that Abraham could have said “ No way!” But in this era of time it was common practice for this to take place so… after Sarah had born the promised son, she had no use for the one that she settled for with Hagar. I see two lessons here…

    1. Be patient when it comes to Gods promises, he is not a lier. Gods promises are contingent upon us walking in the path to that promise so most of the time it takes longer than we think it should because we get off the path.

    2. At some point we have to realize that it is our fault that the promise hasn’t come to fruition. We have to stare our mistake in the eye and own up to it and let it fuel us to get back on track. There is no better wake up call then to stare your problem right in the eye.

  40. 6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

Sarah has received her promised son Isaac and is full with laughter and joy. She may have laughed inappropriately at the news of his coming, the last laugh is here where she invites all who hear to laugh with her. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine, relax it won’t break your face.

  41. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

    Lift thy voice…
What kind of prayer did Ishmael said? What was his cry? If we consider he was a teen by now. Maybe 15 or so for this happened after Isaac as weaned. It wasnt like he didnt know anything that was going on. He knew he had been cast out of what was home. He knew that there were now many unknowns. What now? Out here in this wilderness? What will happen now? One moment in the house of one of the wealthiest man in the planet and now struggling for drink of water in the middle of “life” if you may. It is told to us clearly that the mother wept and cried with a loud voice. Yet the angel of the Lord said fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad. It may just be that he caught some of that faith from his father. It was at least 15 yrs that he spent by the side of Abraham, his father. It may have been in that time that he saw how his father talked with God and God answered. It may have have just been that daily devotion that his father had that he caught on and perhaps said to himself what if I call upon the God of my father? For God heard the voice of the father. All we know is that there was probably a good relationship for we are told that it was grievous to Abraham to sent Hagar away because of his son. The interesting thing to note is that about approximately the same age, again, but now with Isaac, God will require of Abraham his other son, the one he loves. We can tell that the father’s heart will always be towards his son, his offspring. So many things to glean from this chapter but what stood out the most is that God heard the voice of the lad. He didnt hear the thought, but the voice the combined breath and sound via the vocal cords that went up to the ears of the Lord. Mayne he elevated a praise as he lifted up a prayer, whatever or however it was, he spoke. He gave that breath back to the one who gives it and God honored by listening. You will have what you say. Your prayer raised to God will be heard.

The reaction is almost beautiful. One can possibly infer, as one who has great faith. While the mother wept in despair, somewhere in the distance, the Lad knew who to talk to, perhaps peacefully, but confident knowing that to whom he is speaking to, he hears. And from that prayer, provision and promise was made. And he was a great nation as well.

  42. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

I do not enjoy late but”better late than never” The very thing God has promised you may not come when you think but will come if you stay in order. Do not give up on the process or the vision

  43. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

Sometimes we are lost and cant see no way out of our problems but he will open our eyes just in time to help us see our way out.

  44. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born. Sarah said, “God has made me laugh; all who hear [about our good news] will laugh with me.”
    GENESIS 21:5‭-‬6 AMP

God’s wonderous works continue to put a smile on my face!

  45. 17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Do not be weary of we’ll doing!

Abraham’s greatest quality is taking God at his word. His fear was sending the woman and his son to there grave. But he believed God, and God honored his word.

Why is it so hard for us to let go of people that God tells us, “Let them go, you’ll be alright and they’ll be alright!” But we hold on to them. If God says do it, Just Do It!

God knew the lad had spent enough time in Abraham’s hour to know how to get ahold of God.

  46. 19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

We serve a mighty God. When we are at our lowest, feeling defeated, and cast away. Remember that God hears our crys and fulfills his promises and always makes a way.

  47. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL IN HIS TIME!!!

  48. 9But Sarah saw Ishmael—the son of Abraham and her Egyptian servant Hagar—making fun of her son, Isaac.b she turned to Abraham and demanded, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son. He is not going to share the inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won’t have it!”

Yes, we all like to have fun, and make a joke about others during normal conversation. But when that fun turns into being serious, or you actually mean it, then it becomes a problem. Words do hurt people, so be careful when joking around with others. God is listening to your words and jokes.

  49. 1-4 God visited Sarah exactly as he said he would; God did to Sarah what he promised: Sarah became pregnant and gave Abraham a son in his old age, and at the very time God had set. Abraham named him Isaac. When his son was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him just as God had commanded.

God keeps his promises and we must keep ours to him. If we want God to continue with blessings we must continue to live a life that seeks him first. His favor is upon those that he keeps his promise to and us that keep connected to him. He will always come through on his timing we must trust and put faith in him that he is our promise keeper, provider, and protector.

  50. 19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

God heard her cry and provided for her
