Genesis 22

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.

15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.

24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

  1. “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Because of Abraham’s obedience to the voice of the Lord, on his way to the Altar God provides. Don’t be surprised when and where God will provide. Abraham put his trust in the Lord, if God said to lay the lad on the altar then because of Abraham’s trust and faith in Lord I’m sure he was confident that God would provide.
Just walk in obedience to the Lord and watch God do miracles in your life, in your family, in your ministry.

  2. Abraham’s obedience showed that he trusted God, even when he did not feel like it. Prior to this account, Abraham was trained by God for many years before his faith was tested. There is not a line in this text about how Abraham felt, not because he didn’t feel, but because he walked by faith, not feelings. Most importantly is the fact that Abraham did not ask God why he was directed to sacrifice his son. Purhaps we can gleen that if the Lord answers our questions about why we encounter struggles, it would only create more “why” questions due to our finite mind (which might be one reason why God does not appear to offer answers to our questions).

  3. God knows what he is doing Abraham was willling to sacrifice his own son in the name of the lord. His faith was high and so was his obedience. When you have high faith and you obey God blessings happen. It’s also God is the lamb that replaced us on the cross. We all should of been judged . But God said no let me have your burdens and shame.

  4. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

It is quite the story of obedience without any question or murmurings. Abraham did exactly what God commanded him to do. He took that which was precious to him, his seed, his heir and began the trip up the mountain. When it was some time around the age of 15 (guesstimate) that Abraham took Isaac. There had to be some skepticism on Isaacs behalf. I have found that reading the word, Isaac did question where is the sacrifice and Abraham simply told him the Lord would provide. They went up the mountain and the altar was built. Isaac was bound and laid upon the altar. And Abraham pulls back the knife and God spoke and stopped him and gave a Abram for the sacrifice.

When God commands us to doing things for the kingdom, we have to be able to trust him regardless of the task and whether or not we agree with him. We also have to trust him enough to allow our carnality to be squashed and our spirit rise above the flesh and do exactly how and when and where he says. That is exactly what we must do by seeking the kingdom first. We must be honest and sincere with God and believe the outcome will be in God’s control and not in ours.

    I love the kingdom!

  5. Some years later God decided to test Abraham, so he spoke to him. Abraham answered, “Here I am, Lord .” The Lord said, “Go get Isaac, your only son, the one you dearly love! Take him to the land of Moriah, and I will show you a mountain where you must sacrifice him to me on the fires of an altar.”
    Genesis 22:1‭-‬2 CEV

It is that even your children/family must be sacrificed in order to be about our father’s business. It may hurt along the way as you see your family make some decisions that are not Godly. But as GOD tested Abraham, I was reminded that I too may have to walk through the valleys of life to get my victory on the mountain top!!!! It was 3 days later that Abraham saw the place. And as for me it was the 3rd day that Jesus resurrected. There’s life on the 3rd day!!!!! So after that being said…..’I WILL SING A HALLELUJAH!!!’ And give my GOD all the glory, honor, due to His holy name!!!! Your faith may be challenged…Don’t lose your focus, your purpose in life is His KINGDOM 💕

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
    1 Corinthians 15:57‭-‬58 KJV

  6. Verses 3-5 MSG “Abraham got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants and his son Isaac. He had split wood for the burnt offering. He set out for the place God had directed him. On the third day he looked up and saw the place in the distance. Abraham told his two young servants, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I are going over there to worship; then we’ll come back to you.” This last verse is a declaration by Abraham……..”then we’ll come back to you”. Abraham had full faith in his God, that without hesitation or without question he obeyed and did exactly as he was directed to do. When we are obedient to the nudge/call, to what we know is right before God; we will be blessed for our obedience as Abraham.

Verses 15-18 AMP “The [k]Angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time and said, “By Myself (on the basis of Who I Am) I have sworn [an oath], declares the Lord, that since you have done this thing and have not withheld [from Me] your son, your only son [of promise], indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies [as conquerors]. Through your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have heard and obeyed My voice.”

  7. 15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
    17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
    Genesis 22:15-18

There will be a time that God will test us in a manner such as this one. It may not be to offer a child, but it could be something you hold dear. This shows us all we need to do is listen to God without restraints, and obey. He will bless us for our loyalty and faith.

  8. 6. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

    9. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

They carried everything with them when they went to sacrifice, except the materials to build the altar – because you can always build an altar wherever you are.

  9. 11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

    17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Out of obedience, God can do great things in our lives. Obedience will take you further than trust! Great nations came this obedience… I stand on His word, I stand on His promise!

  10. Genesis 22:17-18 ] In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of Heaven and the sand on the seashore. And your Seed ( Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies. [18] And the your Seed [ Christ] shall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [ By Him] bless themselves, Because you have heard and obeyed My voice. Abraham’s faith was tested as he was asked to offer young Isaac as a sacrifice . When Abraham demonstrated his commitment and response to God, however another sacrifice was provided. In this same area two thousand years later, Christ would lay down his life as a permanent sacrifice and atonement for sin. We must listen to the God voice and be obeinant and faithful to his will. And he will bless us through our trails. I bless you in the name of Jesus.

  11. Genesis 22
9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

    At the Altar
    Meet Jesus.

  12. With a heavy heart Abraham was following the orders of God. He was just blessed with a son that he and his wife, pray for many many years…

A man that is found righteous in the sight of the Lord. So faithful that he put himself in danger, the 3 young men could have jumped him when he try to put his son on the altar. But they to were submitted.

The Lord will provide. With out a shadow of a doubt.

“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:13-14

  13. 1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Abraham obedience, submission, and trust in God is admirable. I don’t know if I could of done it. I’m honest, losing my son was the biggest pain I have ever felt!!! It is something that I will never forget and will never stop grieving for him. I can say that God has given me peace and comfort that now I trust it was all for his best. I just don’t know if I could of sacrifice my son of God asked me to. I think I would kneel and try to bargain, giving my life in exchange for his. I pray God increases my faith and trust that I can be as obedient as Abraham. I don’t know why I keep thinking of all those babies that were aborted and are aborted everyday as it was nothing. I pray for those mothers to experience the love of our God and through repentance come to Him for salvation. In Jesus Name Amen

  14. Genesis 22

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

  15. 15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

God has never asked for a sacrifice that was unreasonable. He has only required everything we have, because it is what he has given to us. Idolatry is very simple. It’s anything that is placed before God. It doesn’t matter whether it’s your child, a football team, a video game… anything that is man-made cannot come before the one who made man. Abraham’s test wasn’t about if he was going to sacrifice his son it was about his willingness to sacrifice something that meant the world to him. In that culture it was normal for people to sacrifice their firstborn, God was just requiring of him with the heathens gave to their gods. In the end, God will always provide the sacrifice

  16. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Think Issac knew something was up, I’m sure he was looking at the whole situation , so when he asked Sbtaham said the Lord will provide, honestly I think Issac had the heart of his Father, and he trusted in him he saw with his own eyes a the times God provided for them, and he just knew the faithfulness and understood the love of God. So even bound by the hands, and laid in the Slter, he was still trusting God. This day and age, someone would have probably brought a lamb just in case! we are in a generation that we have to have proof. receipts, pictures, people just arent trusting God the way Sbraham, David, Paul, and Moses did, Lord help us to trust you, despite my circumstances!

  17. Genesis 22
1.After these things passed it came to Jesus that Abraham had tempted and Jesus said to Abraham here I am behold.
2.And Take my Only Thy Son Issac into the Land of Moriah where he will have a burnt offering on one of the mountains.
3.so Abraham Got his saddle in the morning and took a ride with Abraham Two sons and Issac Claved for his offering where he went to Heaven which Jesus told him to go

  18. 7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”

By now, Isaac was probably thinking, “could I be the sacrifice?” But what is important here is that Isaac was obedient. He continued forward, and trusted his father. If only the generation of today could be so obedient. Isaac did not try to run and get away, but instead he obeyed. He learned obedience through his father.

  19. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven.

    Exam Time

God provides tests as measures of progress and proving grounds for every person He calls to lead? Genesis 22 begins with a divine test.
God knew he would be willing to do anything asked of him—and would be a perfect candidate to become the father of the Hebrew people.

While Abraham’s trial foreshadowed what God intended to do with His only begotten Son thousands of years later, it also provided Abraham with a leadership test.
When is the last time God tested you? If you aren’t being tested, then you’re not really moving forward!

Our goal should be ready to pass the test.
Self-promotion can never replace divine promotion.
    Promotion requires sacrifice.

  20. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    SUBMISSION + OBEDIENCE = PROVISION

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

The will of GOD is often a mysterious to the flesh, but it remains simple in the Spirit.

My attitude of SUBMISSION makes my action of OBEDIENCE simple. Like Abraham we will be tested by GOD to sacrifice something valuable for to us. An event, an appointment or plan, a relationship or a position.

But, if we live in the attitude of Submission then like Abraham we will rise early in the morning or quickly to obey the voice of GOD. Then GOD will provide the answer for us. Some missions are only a test, while others are a command. We should treat every WORD from GOD as a command of sacrifice and be OBEDIENT.

GOD will determine which ones we are to sacrifice and which ones we HE will provide for.

Wow! This definitely was a different time period here. If Abraham would have lived in the 21st Century he’d still be in jail. Isaac woulda pitched a fit for actually having to walk 3 days journey…Sarah woulda been hot as a hornet blowing up Ab’s phone with text messages rebuking him for not communicating with her before they left, and Isaac would have complained for having to carry the wood, the servants would have filled a grievance with the labor union for being overworked and under paid, and ole Abraham…he’d still be in jail for attempted murder (even though he didn’t kill him, he raised his knife against him for one minute). I could see this story with a different ending in the 21st century for sure. Thank God Abraham feared God and refused to be politically correct! 🙂

  22. 7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

    • God will Provide HIMSELF a Lamb.

What I wanted to say this morning is that this was a for telling of what Jesus would do. Jesus would be the Last Sacrifice. Because He is God, God would literally Provide Himself as the Sacrifice. To be considered a good Sacrifice, one would bring a lamb with out spot or blemish, to be able to rollover their sin for another year. However, Jesus had to be bruised for our iniquity. He would have to cut and spit on, for us to find mercy. He would have to be killed by the hands of man in order to take all those sins, before and after, to forgive them.

Do we really realize that Jesus had to absorb all the sins of humanity in one felle swoop. Jesus was the spotless Lamb, that at the end became the very essence of sin, and he took all that sin to the grave to be buried. He took the strips on his back, the crown of thorns on His head, the spear in His side, and the nails in His hands and feet. And when He took all that sin, He became Sin itself. Then He said, “IT IS FINISHED!!!!” At that very moment, the Spirit of God and the Flesh of Jesus could not be together, because God is not Sin. Then Jesus gave up the Ghost. Yet it was through this process that God provided HIMSELF a LAMB.

In order for us to seek after His Kingdom First, we must know what has happened in our past. For those who do not know the Past are deemed to repeat it.

Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God.
      How is your Altar?

  23. “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
    Genesis 22:12 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/gen.22.12.NLT

What all will be accomplished when the church truly operates in a spirit of the Fear of the Lord? The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

  24. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

Abraham was not only obedient, but was also submitted to the Lord. Had the Lord not prepared another sacrifice, Abraham would have followed through with offering Isaac as a sacrifice.

We hear a lot about obedience and submission. Obedience is the act, submission is the attitude. You can have obedience and not be submitted, but you can’t be submitted without obedience.

What is God asking me to do today? Am I willing to not only be obedient in the action, but in my spirit be submitted as well?

We as children of God sometimes miss out on the greatest blessing because we are obedient, but we lack the spirit of submission.

Saying yes Lord takes more than just speaking the words, it also takes the attitude of the heart.

  25. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

In this moment there was complete surrender on both Abraham’s and Isaac’s part. They didn’t know what the next two verses would hold, they had to completely trust God in a moment they, without doubt, probably feared. But my God is an on-time God, and I’m the moment of complete surrender, that’s when He knows He can trust any blessings you receive will be taken with full gratitude and glory unto Him.

  26. 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

A few weeks ago, Bro. Morgan preached that if you want something to change you have to sacrifice. People from all over the church were putting money, checks, and pledges on the altar. Sis. Maria and I were not the first ones up there because we didn’t have any extra money. We had just enough in the bank to cover the rest of the bills. Sis. Maria looked at me and said the woman with nothing have her last mite. That night we sacrificed and gave one of our bills. It was everything left in our account.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

That same night after service we received an unexpected blessing. A check for 75% of what we sacrificially gave. The next day at work the VP of our region called me and said she wanted to meet up in a couple of days. That day I got a raise on my job, a promotion, a closer commute location, and a shift change that I had been wanting since we had moved here.

When we sacrifice for HIS Kingdom, HE will always give back and make sure we are covered.

  27. 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

    Obedience is better than sacrifice

  28. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

His obedience is outstanding, he kept his faith and he knew God would provide. Without any hesitation Abraham did as he was told and for that God blessed him!

  29. 8 Abraham said, “Son, God will see to it that there’s a sheep for the burnt offering.” And they kept on walking together.

Neither one hesitated to know He is in control but they kept moving forward to what God had in store for them. Abraham kept his obedience to God but he also spoke in faith that a sacrifice may be ready to take his sons place.
Because he kept his faith and obedience God heard his prayers and sent a replacement sacrifice. If we keep obedience to God he will keep answering our prayers on his timing.

  30. 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
    17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

It wasn’t too long before this day that Abraham obeyed God and sent Ishmael away, no doubt with a heavy heart, yet being assured by God of his promise for Ishmael and his seed. Now here he again is trusting God and his promise through Isaac even though he may have had concerns. Abraham displays to us great faith-and great trust though his obedience. Once done, the Lord again spoke to him concerning his great blessing upon him. Trust and obey requires faith as written in Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped, the evidence of things not seen.

  31. 1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

We will all face a time of temptation and testing in our walk with God. I pray we can all strive to be like Abraham and Isaac, to have simple obedience.

  32. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

Worship is how you get through the hardest trials!!! To worship when your hurting, to worship GOD when we feel that everything is falling apart . … shows GOD the pain , hurt and desire of the heart, lets HIM know that HE IS MY #1!!! WE CONQUER, HAVE DELIVERANCE AND HAVE DOMINION over that situation if we allow GOD TO WORK, MOVE on our behalf!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU DADDY!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!

  33. Genesis 22:10-11
    10) And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
    11) And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

What “Great Faith” Abraham had in God. Abraham had so much Faith in God, that if the angel hadn’t intervened, and he would have sacrificed Isaac, he “accounted that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead…” (Hebrews 11:19).

God has given each one of us a measure of Faith. So no matter what “test” you may be going through, use your Faith in God, and remember GOD IS ABLE!

  34. 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

To have this kind of faith in god is no easy task but we can achive it, all you need to have is a little and god will do the rest. We need to trust god that he will provide but without giving our first 10% to god dont expect him to bless unto thee. Yes money does have a value and yes money can get you places but remember when you’re getting your judgement money wont get you into the gates.

  35. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay him

he was willing to sacrifice his only son to God

  36. 12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

SUBMISSION!!! Abraham submitted to God and did what He told Him to do. Even when Isaac asked where is the lamb, Abraham had the faith and said God will provide!! In our time of submission when God tells us to do something we have to obey and even if we don’t understand it or like it we must act on it and He shall provide. He will equipped us with what we need. We will provide. He will strengthen us. He will bless us! The Lord wants to know who we putting first? Don’t let someone or something stop us from being blessed from God. Obey Him and The Lord will PROVIDE!!!

  37. 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Obediece is greater than sacrifice if anything I wanna obey the word of God. God is looking for people who will obey him and want to be used by him. He needs his people to want to serve. Abraham was used because he wanted to be used.

  38. Sometimes god will test you None of us will completely avoid trials or temptations, but we can prepare for them. Brother Morgan told us in impact class. That where subject to sin if we don’t ATLEST pray 1 hour a day I’ve been doing that. And it’s been awesome. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4

  39. “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So thankful for a God that provides. His resource never end! He is the beginning and the end. He speaks thing into existence from nothing.

  41. 9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

    How willing are you?

Often times when God asks us to make a sacrifice it may not be the deed itself that He wants to see, but it’s the willingness of our heart that He cares about.

  42. Timely obedience

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

When God asked an impossible thing of Abraham, he wasted no time. He got an early start to prove his obedience. If you are not immediate with obeying God then it is disobedience.

  43. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

The God of the impossible will make a way. Sometimes we want God to give us such detail instructions and directions for our lives but He only reveals the first step. Sometimes it may be a little more but the rest is hanging on if we obey and take that first step of faith. What was Abraham supposed to do? Just get up and move. However he had already done this when God asked Him to move out from his father’s house and from his kindred. He didnt know much but got up and started his journey. Now he knew what he was supposed to do, offer up his promised son as a sacrifice, but not sure where exactly. Whith that information and nothing more. It was hard enough what he was being asked. Yet I’m sure he relied on his faith bank to know that God had something planned. Something he did not see but God worked behind the scenes. He had already experienced the greatest miracle, and seen the impossible become possible. So he didnt hesitate got up and moved early in the morning. Once he got to the certain place then he saw the rest of the way where he needed to go.

One step at a time. One step of obedience at a time. Remember that if he has done it then he can do it again. His thoughts are not out thoughts and his plans are bigger than ours. What is he calling you to do in your life? Perhaps you think it’s the greatest sacrifice and that the steps are unclear. We must not forget that He loves us. Yet how much do we live Him? He thought I was to die for. It’s hard to trust the unseen but we believe in a God that we cannot he with our human eyes yet he entrusts us with His true riches and power. The next step will be more clear as you take the first one. Remember he can do the impossible. God had already asked Abraham is anything too hard for the Lord? While on the way, praise Him. For the miraculous is about to take place and a way is about to be made clear.

  44. Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

    – Was this a trial run; Genesis 20:2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
I feel like God kept working with Abraham
And Abraham kept failing so using a different tactic going deeper (son) to let Abraham really see that God will always provide, that we don’t have to throw things that are close to you under the bus to get where God wants us to be.
Trust goes along way Abraham differently loves God but trust was a little weak (my feelings)
    *God had already spoke
*Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Or maybe God was preparing Abraham through moment Genesis 13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Why did the Isaac think it was going to be a lamb.

Genesis 22:15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

Thank you Abraham for not taking Sarah and obeying God

  45. 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

God blesses and protects those who OBEY His voice. I’m impressed by the faith Abraham had. First, before he left to perform the sacrifice, he told his young men he’d go worship and be back with his son. Second, when His son asked where the lamb was for the sacrifice, Abraham, full faith, said that God would provide one. Abraham NEVER doubted the promises of God in his life! Nonetheless, he proved he loved God more than his promise.

No matter where we are, we should never doubt the promises God has for us. He will complete His work and fulfill His purpose in us. We just gotta stay faithful to Him and put Him first.

  46. 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

    Hebrews 11:17-18
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

Abraham listened to Gods voice and believed in him in the biggest situation he ever faced, giving up his child which he had been promised from God.
We need to be willing in our lives to give up anything for God when he asks at any moment.

  47. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him

Abraham was very obedient to God. Obedience to God is very important. Obeying God brings great blessing.
God is good all the time

  48. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Trusting in the Lord is no easy task. Abraham is said to have great faith for his act of obedience in the middle of a trial. Even though he didn’t know what God would do next, he stood faithful believing that He would make a way for him and his son to return home. God always provides when we trust in him.

  49. Genesis 22

Abraham offered up Isaac as God told him to. But when Abraham almost carried it through, God stopped him. And He rewarded Abraham for obeying with the greatest honors Abraham could want.
God rewarded Abraham’s faithfulness and obedience with reward beyond measure. That is an example to us.

  50. 9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

  51. And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord , for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
    Genesis 22:15‭-‬16 KJV

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord , he hath also rejected thee from being king.
    1 Samuel 15:22‭-‬23 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/1sa.15.22-23.KJV

Abraham could have chosen to do ANYTHING in this situation. Through his fathfulness and obedience to God not only was his bloodline blessed but all bloodlines in the world were later made a promise through the ultimate sacrifice.
