Genesis 31

And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.

And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,

And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.

Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

10 And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.

11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

15 Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.

16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.

17 Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;

18 And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.

20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

21 So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.

22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.

23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.

24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?

28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?

31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.

32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

33 And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.

34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.

36 And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

37 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.

38 This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.

39 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.

40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

43 And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?

44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.

46 And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.

47 And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.

48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

49 And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.

50 If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.

51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee:

52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.

53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.

54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.

55 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.

Jacob stayed submitted and worked under this man for YEARS was he happy the whole time probably not but the Bible says in 1Peter chapter 2 this “Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:”

Though this was written way after the time of Jacob it has been an example to follow since his time. When Jesus came He sealed the deal for us to follow but it’s always been his intentions for us. Humility overcomes pride every time! Until you can learn that you’re probably gonna face that test for a long time. People are always watching too so be mindful of the way you respond to your state of servitude.

  2. 11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

God sees you in the situation you are in right now. He knows how hard you are working, he k owns how committed you are to him and he has better things planned for your future. You just have to work hard and be patient like Jacob. It took him several years but he finally got delivered from the hands of his father in law.

  3. 48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

A covenant!!!! An agreement!! A promise made by two or more parties. I would be scared to make a covenant with two tricksters. Labán with the withholding of Rachel, and making Jacob work 7 more years. With the changing of wages 10 times in 6 years. Jacob with his breeding so the offsprings came out on his favor. Oh my what’s to come next!!’ That’s not even mentioning that Rachel took her father’s gods! Due 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. Ex 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
    HIS NAME IS JESUS!!!

  4. Genesis 31
Again lies, deceptions , covetousness and theft. Was Rachel stealing what was precious? Was it as if the idol she had stolen like fine china a family heirloom.
Was she trying to take something to remind her of home .was she trying to remove idol worship from her father or was she holding on to an idolatry worship. The idol she stole must have been quite valuable for her father to come searching for it and then for Jacob to make the comment that whomever has it shall die. What were these people thinking. Why would anyone steal from their father . What a mess once again . Yet reconciliation takes place with a sacrifice. and worship.
The family that prays together stays together.. an old cliche yet a powerful one.
Families are never going to be perfect even when one member has a different view of worship. Would we see more unified families if there was less condemnation and more respect for one another? Would there be a genuine outpouring of God’s love that would draw unity and true repentance that could lead to a great revival in our own families. I pray so in Jesus name.

Prayer: Lord our hearts desire is to live in harmony and unity with each other. Bind your love to our hearts so we can live in perfect unity together. Teach us to care for our family members and to forgive one another.

    Prayer and Sacrifice
3-55 Jacob promised, swearing by the Fear, the God of his father Isaac. Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and worshiped, calling in all his family members to the meal. They ate and slept that night on the mountain. Laban got up early the next morning, kissed his grandchildren and his daughters, blessed them, and then set off for home.

  5. 25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

When everything is going their way people will seem like they are completely for you. All things are prospering and you’re doing exactly what people believe you should be doing they will be on your side. People are inherently for themselves before they are for another person. Generally it’s not that they are against you it’s more that they are for themselves. It’s not always a good or bad thing it is just sometimes the situation. Whenever I move to Texas I had very little support from a lot of people. I was told my a lot of people that it was not the will of God for me to move even though I clearly had heard the voice of God tell me to move. Nobody restricted me from leaving but a lot of people that I trusted and cared for try to tell me in love they did not think it was the will of God for me to leave. They were not speaking selfishly to get me to stay they were just not aware of the prayer that I had put into that decision. To this day it was one of the most difficult decisions for me to make but it’s one I will never regret because I did it as instructed by the Lord without the support of my friends. Bottom line, follow God and not men.

  6. 41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

God will honor us if we do right, even though we are being treated wrong. Jacob had every right to not trust Laban. Laban had not only deceived him when he was working to marry Rachel, but many times over the years Laban had taken advantage of him and mistreated him. Yet, Jacob remained faithful, consistent and God honored him.

There are times in our lives when we feel like we are being mistreated, or we are being taken advantage of. Yet if we will do what is right by God in the situation, in the end we will come out the winner. Is it easy? Not always. Yet God will grand us wisdom and strength to be a light in the darkness regardless of the situation.
We must choose our attitude and remember that we are representing Jesus in every action and reaction. Like Jacob, God will bless our godly attitude and obedience and not only bring us out of the situation, but we will be a better individual for the things we have learned will walking through the situation, and come out blessed because we were obedient.

  7. “See this pile of stones,” Laban continued, “and see this monument I have set between us. They stand between us as witnesses of our vows. I will never pass this pile of stones to harm you, and you must never pass these stones or this monument to harm me.
    Genesis 31:51‭-‬52 NLT

Things were starting to turn. God called Jacob to leave just at the right time. God always knows the perfect time to remove you from a situation. When I was working for a company that was going downhill He gave me plans to start my own business. A year later that company had to close it’s doors and my business He called me to is doing well. No matter how scary it may seem and how far He’s calling you out of your comfort zone just GO! DO IT! Take that leap of Faith, because if God called you, if God is with you then it will definitely be worth it. You won’t regret it💖.

  8. 6 And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.

Just keep on working hard and steady ,don’t look back change is coming somebody’s is looking at you making a difference in your work .

  9. iLove the Kingdom
There is so much going on in this chapter. What really caught me was the power that Jacob had because of the blessing. It didn’t matter what Jacob said about the cattle, God was going to bless whichever he claimed. This is why decreeing and proclaiming a thing is so important. God wants to bless us to be a blessing!

  10. Genesis 31:3, “And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I WILL BE WITH THEE.”
Genesis 31:5, “And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the GOD OF MY FATHER HATH BEEN WITH ME.”
Genesis 31:7, “And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but GOD SUFFERED HIM NOT TO HURT ME.”
Genesis 31:9, “Thus GOD HATH taken away the cattle of your father, and GIVEN THEM TO ME.

GOD IS WITH US. HE is our PROTECTOR and our PROVIDER!!

  11. When looking at this particular chapter, it shows both sides of the coin. We find that God spoke to Jacob to get out of Laban’s house and get back to the land of his kindred. But on the other side of the blessing was anger wroth because Laban was told that Jacob fled. On both accounts the Lord spoke to both Laban and Jacob in a dream. There is no doubt in this day and hour we are to be sensitive to the voice of God and we shall be directed in our journeys and we will be protected by the hand of God.

The world will use you if you let it like Laban used Jacob. But overall Jacob was blessed by God and in the end there was no harm brought toward Jacob and his family because of the hand of God.

Seek first the kingdom and the divine protection will cover you.

  12. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE VOICE OF GOD

3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

There are no more comforting words in time of chaos and trouble than to hear instruction from THE VOICE OF THE LORD and the assurance that HE is with thee. The whirlwinds of deception were great and astouding with Jacob and Laban, but GOD who is rich in mercy gave instruction, direction and protection to the servant.

GOD keeps great record of HIS servants. Serve the LORD with gladness, faithfulness and humility and the GOD of our Fathers will keep us.

We must be positioned and willing to hear and obey THE VOICE OF GOD.

  13. You know how hard I have worked for your father, but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm.
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭31:6-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes, life just isn’t fair and people mistreat you but we learned over the summer during VBS, “When life’s unfair, God is good!” Always seek God in the midst of your situation and remember that despite the circumstances, you are still alive and well, you are still blessed, and God is still with you!

  14. Many times we insist on crying for what we lose or for the things that are far from us and we do not understand that the only reality that matters is if God is with us.

Maybe we don’t have father or mother and we don’t have what we crave; who knows how much he longed to see his family Jacob but everything that happened far from them was not in vain because God was with him.
It is that while God is by our side nothing will be in vain even if many years go by.

Jacob had to run away one day and had to start from scratch but as long as God was with him, none of these realities mattered. We must understand that as long as God walks with us, it does not matter the lowest condition in which we are going to start, it does not matter if they have taken everything from us because he will give us his hand. It is not just a matter of time passing, you have to serve and work because God accompanies them, he does not sponsor lazy.
One day Jacob made a covenant with God and God promised him something and he was fulfilling it and also helps him to fulfill them
    Genesis 28.12
12 There he dreamed that there was a staircase resting on the ground, and whose upper end reached as far as the sky. Through her the angels of God went up and down. 13 In the dream, the Lord stood beside him and said: «I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham and your father Isaac. To you and your offspring I will give you the land you are lying on. 14 Your offspring will be as numerous as the dust of the earth. You will extend from north to south, and from east to west, and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.
15 I am with you. I will protect you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not abandon you until I fulfill all that I have promised you. »

In the passage we are reading, God is already fulfilling his promise. Now he just needs to return to his land. It is that when we walk with God we do not imagine all the bad things that people want to do but it doesn’t matter what people want to do because if God walks with us he has said: “I will protect you wherever you want you to go” To us this It is the only thing that should matter to us because everything bad that they plan against us will become a blessing since our God, the God of Jacob is with us in all the paths we take.

  15. Many times we insist on crying for what we lose or for the things that are far from us and we do not understand that the only reality that matters is if God is with us.

  16. And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.

    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭31:19, 34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Don’t be afraid to leave your past behind you, carrying it with it will eventually begin to weigh you down and keep you from moving forward.

  18. 7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.

    The promises of God.

As i read this chapter. My thoughts go back to when Jacob received the birthright blessing. And although he got it deceitfully, God is faithful to honor His Promises. And he promised Abraham that he would be a man of many nations.

When we seek after His Kingdom we fall in line to receiving the blessings of God and flowing in with the promises of them. So seek ye first the Kingdom of God and you will be blessed.

  19. “Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your people, and I will be with you.””
    ‭‭GENESIS‬ ‭31:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There’s no peace like the peace of God. When we have the assurance of a Word from God we can walk in confidence knowing that God has our back. I am so thankful for his word. It is a firm foundation, the solid rock that I can stand on.

  20. Genesis31: 45-46 [ Amp] So Jacob set up a stone for a pillar or monument.
[46] And Jacob said to his brethren , Gather stones; and they ate [ together] there upon the heap.
[ Prov.16:7-8 ] When a man’s ways please the Lord He makes even his enemies to be at peace with Him. [8] Better is a little with righteous . Unrighteous in every area and relation and right standing with God). Only Jesus is the answer to everything in our lives. He will , His plan for our salvation. It will be worth it at the inn. Praise God and Worship the King.

  21. 11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

Jacob responded quickly with no hesitation or fear. He knew it was from the Lord.

How quick are you to respond when the voice of Lord is trying to speak to you?

Whether it’s through Pastor or just a nudging in the spirit, we should be able to recognize when it is from the Lord and respond with no hesitation or fear.

    Here am I Lord.

  22. 24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

    48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

  23. 4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
9 Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

The world may try to take your joy, your wages, or claim your promises as their own. But we will rise above and get what God has promised us. Things change despite the fact that we don’t like it or feel like we cannot handle it. But God sees what we’ve gone through and what we are currently going through. He will bless our trouble, problems, and issues. He will make a way.

  24. 1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.

2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

Often when the Lord blesses someone others become jealous and envious of their good fortune and begin to despise them. As long as we know that we are doing right, we should not worry what others think but only what God thinks.

  25. 1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.

God will always be with you😀😀😀😀

  26. Jacob left for gillein. Jesus told Labon to not speak good or bad with Jacob. Labon on got upset cause Jacob did not tell him that Racheal his dad his grandchildren we’re leaving. Jacob replied with that he was scared, that Labon would not let Rachel and the grandchildren leave. With this I have to say that if we don’t know what to do we should go to God. Our pastor should also help us with any situation we have.

  27. 30I can understand your feeling that you must go, and your intense longing for your father’s home. But why have you stolen my gods?”

Even after 20 years Laban still did believe in God. Laban still has his idols he worship. I’m sure he would see Jacob praying to God. Laban knew of God, but refuse to accept God.

  28. And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

As long as we are aligned with God, always know that He will deliver us from a bad situation, in His perfect timing.

  29. God is a witness. He knows EVERYTHING we say and do. He is a loving caring and forgiving God who is WORTHY of all praise. God is good all the time.

  30. 3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,

There’s a difference of going because things aren’t the way you desire and going because God to you. When God says go He will go with you. Yet when ones emotions says go he is on his own. There is no power in go because I want to but all power in heaven and earth is backing the Go from God.

  31. 41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

Being obedient, even to those who are unfair to you has its payoffs. Eventually Jacob was released, he had to sneak away but God released him to leave that land and go back home. For 20 years Jacob was treated unfairly but through his obedience he was able to leave and remain untouched by his enemy.

  32. The work of kingdom is never done. As long as the enemy is up to no good, we have work to do. This is not the time to do your own thing. Let’s focus on kingdom work, so that the will if the Lord can be done.

  33. 16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.

Whenever God says to do something we need to do it without hesitation or question. It doesn’t matter if if it seems unfair or you feel your not ready. God knows when to move us or when to make us stand still. He knows everywhere hair on our body so why would we question him? This is why we are continually in the same test because we hesitate. Regardless of how it may feel or what it may seem like if god asks you to do something like Nike says “Just Do It”.

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  34. 16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.

Best thing is to always DO what GOD wants!!!
It may not always feel right but GOD knows what is best!!!

  35. And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee; This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm. The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
    Genesis 31:51‭-‬53 KJV

Jacob and Laban both swore. They made an affirmation or declared that something ought to be done and or respected.

By what name do you do or declare things? There is only one name, given among men that has all power and authority. His name is Jesus

  36. The God of Abraham [your father] and the God of Nahor [my father], and the god [the image of worship] of their father [Terah, an idolater], judge between us.” But Jacob swore [only] by [the one true God] the Fear of his father Isaac.
    GENESIS 31:53 AMP

Always know WHOSE you are and WHO you pray to. The One true living God, all 3 in One

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
    Luke 22:31 KJV

  37. 48-50 Laban said, “This monument of stones will be a witness, beginning now, between you and me.” (That’s why it is called Galeed—Witness Monument.) It is also called Mizpah (Watchtower) because Laban said, “God keep watch between you and me when we are out of each other’s sight. If you mistreat my daughters or take other wives when there’s no one around to see you, God will see you and stand witness between us.” God knows all things and sees all things even when you think your out of sight. God sees it and knows the true intention of your heart.

  38. 1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.
2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

Be careful to always do the right thing for God is looking over you.

  39. “I am the God of Beth–el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭31:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If you are serving God then he watches out for you. If people take advantage of you then He will help you.

  40. 20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?

Communication is crucial for any relationship!

  41. 1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.
2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

Change: not only has Jacobs time with Laban been one of continual change so that Laban could prosper, Jacob now faces this change and must face his brother Esau. Change can bring anxiety and brand new problems, but if we face them with the help and guidance of the Lord, we can be successful.
