Exodus 14

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.

11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lordcaused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

  1. 12 “Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.”

13 “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

Sometimes is easier to continue in our sin ,Then to believe. The salvation of the Lord whose report will you believe , for the sin you had done today, you should not do no more .

  2. Verses 13-14 MSG “Moses spoke to the people: “Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and watch God do his work of salvation for you today. Take a good look at the Egyptians today for you’re never going to see them again. God will fight the battle for you. And you? You keep your mouths shut!” Plain and simple, yet harder for some than others! Same verses ERV “But Moses answered, “Don’t be afraid! Don’t run away! Stand where you are and watch the Lord save you today. You will never see these Egyptians again. You will not have to do anything but stay calm. The Lord will do the fighting for you.”

    God is fighting for us
    Pushing back the darkness
    Lighting up the Kingdom
    That cannot be shaken
    In the Name of Jesus
    Enemy’s defeated
And we will shout it out
    Shout it out
I will live, I will not die
    The resurrection power of Christ
Alive in me and I am free
    In Jesus’ Name

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

  3. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord , which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Many Christians still doubt GOD even after they’ve seen the LORD intervene in their situations time and time again. When the LORD says he will do it, TRUST Him at His word remove all doubt and fear that torments your mind. Continue to walk by faith and not by sight. It will give you great peace knowing that GOD has all things under control.

  4. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.

We need to keep remembering to have faith in God to protect us, because he can and will. Keep your faith strong in God.

  5. Thank you Jesus , my rescuer my deliverer , all power belongs to him, lean on him he is Worthy

But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

  6. 14:8 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of. Egypt and he perished the children of Israel and the children of Israel went out with a high hand.
    ———
In another translation says that they were leaving
    Victoriously,Boldly, with uplifted hands….
    ——-
And in the next verse. They express their fear, declaring
    That that was the end…..
-Lord help me to keep a Made up mind
A heart that would trust in you( no matter what)
Even when a a situation may
    Look scary …
That I may stand and keep walking until
    I see the light.
    ———
I want to be burning hot( in faith)
    And not warm.

  7. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.

It amazes me how the Children of Israel flip-flopped so quickly. I know they still have quite a bit more that they go back and forth on. But what we are talking about today, when Moses first arrived they were disgruntled and said leave us alone. As time goes by, they are happy and excited. They follow Moses lead and then leave Egypt. Now here they are bad mouthing him and God again. Did you do all of this to have us die in the wilderness?? We said, Let is alone, it was better to serve than to die! These people can’t decide what to follow. After seeing all of the plagues you would think they would be singing a different tune.

And still with all of their bickering and complaining, God still decides to let them witness yet another miracle/wonder. As the pillar of smoke separates them and they walk on dry ground.

Again, here they are singing a different tune. Now here they are fearing the Lord and Moses. I feel as though I would have been there earlier. I have though seen so many people in this same dilemma; they love Pastor and they hate him in the same conversation.

  8. 30. That is how the LORD rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore.

    31. When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the LORD had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the LORD and in his servant Moses. NLT

Some have faith in God simply at His Word, and some have faith only after seeing Him do mighty acts.

    John 20:
    29. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

    30. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

    31. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. KJV

  9. 30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

Sometimes you just have to trust and follow. The children of Israel were doubtful at first, and sometimes we’re the same way. But without fail, I know every time I look back I am amazed at the hand of God and how He kept me. Never forget the goodness of the Lord and how He delivered you – He is worthy of all the glory!

  10. “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

Gotta put our trust in the Lord.
We got the Red Sea before and pharaoh behind “can’t” might be a good word of choice in this situation….WRONG look at thy word can’t its the word CAN with a Cross ✝️ at the end. It’s no coincidence to me that the word can’t is spelled like that. Because I CAN do all things through WHO, CHRIST who strengtheneth me. It’s literally the word can with a cross at the end. So who’s battle is it really is it yours or Jesus’s. He will always defend you. Put your trust in him and quit worrying

  11. Exodus 14:8 [Amp] The Lord made hard and strong heart of Pharoh king of Egypt, and he pursued thr Israelites, for [ they] left proudly and defiantly.
[ Acts13:17] The God of this people Israel selected our forefathers and made this people great and important during their stay in the land of Egypt,
And then with an uplifted arm. He led them out from there. Be like Moses and tell people don’t fear for watch the Salvation of the Lord work for you. God is fighting for us, God is on our side. Praise God is so good for us.

  12. 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses

It’s not enough just to be delivered from your bondage. God seeks to destroy and annihilate everything that once held you down. Not only is he your deliverer but he’s also your liberator. Sometimes you got standards don’t meet our own because he plans to take things farther then we believe. While people think it’s just enough to walk away from our bondage he wants to destroy it. Full redemption comes when our enemy is no more.

  13. When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord !” Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night. Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!

Just like the Children of Isreal we think in time of trouble that God has abandoned us or that he is simply not there. I know from a personal stand point that my family is in a rough spot right now, and I’ve lost yet another family member, and while we weren’t super close we still were family and it hurts non the less. Loss of income, and I look around and I said man how long are we going to be in this rut, because it seems like it’s never ending, just because you lose job doesn’t mean life stops, Bill’s still need to be paid, and food on the table, gas in the vehicle. we have no choice but to push through, I asked God why he showed me something, and I corrected it, and guess what, it’s a done deal, we are now moving out of the rut, I guess you can say God finally allowed it to stop storming, we cant think God has left us. and the first thing we want to do is blame God, why did God allow him to lose his Job, he didnt allow that to happen, we lose Jobs because of our performance, or sometimes people are into numbers and if your not meeting their expectations then its bye, so many different aspects, but to blame God is not going to help! God allowed this to be a building block, and at first we turned them into stumbling blocks. God was there the whole time, and he brought understanding and peace and strength, and another Job! God is great, and greatly to be praised!

I don’t feel no ways tired,
I’ve come too far from where I started from.
Nobody told me that the road would be easy,
I don’t believe He brought me this far to leave me.

    First the Kingdom

When the rut is getting bigger…God is good

  14. 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lordcaused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

When you think there is NO WAY, GOD MAKES A WAY!!! Every time you lose hope lift your head to heaven for OUR GOD IS A MIRACLE WORKING GOD!!! He has a plan from the moment you are born! Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
So don’t lose hope!!! He didn’t bring you this far to let you go!!! Be strong and courageous, keep your head up to the heavens and in everything with thanksgiving in your heart make your request be known unto God!! Do not do what Israel did, they gripped and complained all the time. That’s why they wonder through the wilderness. Remember ATTITUDE IS 90% of the job! Be grateful, always have a thankful heart, and best of all THANK HIM IN ADVANCE!

  15. Exodus 14
9-31 But the Israelites walked right through the middle of the sea on dry ground, the waters forming a wall to the right and to the left. God delivered Israel that day from the oppression of the Egyptians. And Israel looked at the Egyptian dead, washed up on the shore of the sea, and realized the tremendous power that God brought against the Egyptians. The people were in reverent awe before God and trusted in God and his servant Moses.

    Deliverance from the Oppression
Today’s society would classify the events leading to the Red Sea Traumatic and Crisis situations. A people fleeing for their life pretty much like many people around the world.

    Oppression
the state of being subject to unjust treatment or control
    mental pressure or distress.

Thinking of the turmoil the emotional roller coasters the children of Israel have been on. Slaves and treated cruel. Then ten times promised to be released from the slavery to no avail . Here they come to this place of deliverance and now there is a vast sea spread out in front of them. Talked about the fear and anxiety of the moment. I found it quite inspirational that God speaks to Moses with grand authority to quit speaking to Him and lead …….
4 God will fight the battle for you.
And you? You keep your mouths shut!”
15-16 God said to Moses: “Why cry out to me? Speak to the Israelites. Order them to get moving. Hold your staff high and stretch your hand out over the sea: Split the sea! The Israelites will walk through the sea on dry ground.
Was Moses feeling the heat of the moment and crying out also in fear ? God tells him to quit talking and get to leading. There is even a time in leadership fear opposition and challenges arise but we as leaders must realize we have already been equipped by the power of God to lead . We must be instant in season and out. There may be s Red Sea right in front of us and a Pharaoh’s army behind us. We must be prepared . This is why it is so important to read and seek God before the days tasks begins. You will encounter challenges and people in chaos and what we have read and. Ought God about will be the preparation for the day. You will use it as an encouragement for someone else.
So as Moses leads and God now can do His work. See God raised up leaders to be able to face the obstacles of the leader is in tune with God then when the problems arise they may be shaking in their boots but that’s when God says you lead I will perform. Oh God’s wondrous magnificent power takes over ! He shows up just on time. God does what man cannot. I have many a Red Sea and the minute I said ok God take over He dies just at the precise moment. Then He gets the Glory !!
We must as leaders realize we are just the tool He uses its His Glory being revealed through us. Preparation and Perseverance Prayer brings Powerful Results!
So now here are the children of Israel having being oppressed as they are miraculous being led through dry ground to the other side of freedom God says not only am I making this way of escape I am delivering you from oppression.
    Lay aside every weight
The body is freed but the mind is still captive yet God says He delivered them from the oppression!

Hebrews 12:1 King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Deliverance from even the emotional spirit the turmoil in the mind.
His deliverance is not partial but it is complete.

“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.”Psalm 9:9

What an awesome God we serve ! What power there is in serving Jesus……..

    Deliverance will Come!

  16. When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

    https://bible.com/bible/116/exo.14.31.NLT

The Lord does a mighty work when we’re faced with opposition. It’s so funny because so many times when trouble comes it’s like we forget who our God is. But when we call upon His name a lot of He shows us great and mighty things. Lord, help me to step to the side so You may fight for me.

  17. 23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lordlooked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

In Jesus’ Name, in Jesus’ Name

When we seek after His Kingdom first, and we follow the leading of the Pillar of Fire and Cloud, God. We cannot be defeated. He will fight our battles, just has He did with the children of Israel, so He will with us because we too are His Children. It looks like there is no way, when the seas are beside you and the enemy is behind you, but God said go forward, not to the sides or behind, but keep moving forward. You may feel discouraged, but let me ask where were you this time last year in your walk with God? Has it gotten better since then? If not, i would suspect that you have not given God the time that He wants with you for you to learn and grow for what He has for you.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and see what happens.

  18. iLove the Kingdom
Exo 14:12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

Just a few weeks ago, we heard how you can tell someone is entertaining an evil spirit. Jesus was preaching in the synagogue and just by hearing the spoken Word the devils spoke up and said, “Leave us alone”. Well, the same is true with this feller who speaks to Moses. He says, “Let us alone”… We must be careful not to tell the preacher to leave us alone. Preach preacher and get me out of Egypt!

  19. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    SHUT UP AND BELIEVE

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The tongue is powerful and words are strong and prophetic. Murmuring, complaining, worrying for the worst, distorted expectation, blurred vision all of these reveal themselves in times of transition and change.

We must maintain the altar in our lives that we do not fall into the trap of negative speech. We are called to do exploits and that means pioneering new territory, experiencing the unknown and unfamiliar.

GOD sends us through HIS command to GO TEACH and MAKE DISCIPLES.

We will not understand all that is happening, but we must maintain FAITH, through Prayerful and Obedient Submission and not allow doubt to cloud or deflate our words.

GO, Be Quiet, Believe and Obey.

  20. 4 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The Lord hardened Pharaohs heart for this very purpose, to strengthen the Israelites faith. It would be easy to freak out as they are right now, and how quickly they have forgotten all the miraculous plagues that struck the Egyptians. If God has brought them this far, they have no reason to doubt Him now. Emotions run rampant and God is declaring them to hold their peace. In other words God isn’t finished with Pharaoh and the Egyptian army quite yet. When God starts anything he will see it through completely. Here they are trapped between wilderness and the Red Sea, these are natural, but God is fixing to do the supernatural ..again. I can understand the fear of the unknown. What lies on the other side of the Red Sea? The truth is their will be more enemies to face everywhere we go, but we cannot stay in Egypt when God is calling us out. If God put us in it, then he will see us through it. The battle is not ours in fact its already won. We cannot lean on to our own understanding, but wait on God and hold our peace and watch for God is fighting for us.

  21. Exodus 14

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

  22. AMP – 19 The angel of God, who had been going in front of the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them. The pillar of the cloud moved from in front and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. It was a cloud along with darkness [even by day to the Egyptians], but it gave light by night [to the Israelites]; so one [army] did not come near the other all night.

The Israelites had an angel of God in front of them, along with a cloud to lead them during the day and a fire to lead them at night. The Lord caused the angel and the cloud to go behind them and become a wall between the Israelites and the Egyptians so that they the Israelites could walk through the sea on dry land.

In another instance God’s people were surround by the enemy, and the Lord opened their eyes to see that angels were encamped all around them protecting them from the enemy.

God has our back. He knows where we are and what we are going through. He is with us, has angels to protects us, and will bear His mighty arm when necessary to prove that He has all things in control.

  23. Exodus 14:13-14
    13) And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
    14) The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

When it seems like the enemy is pursuing us, all we have to do is Fear Not, Stand Still, See the Salvation of God, and remember: GOD IS FIGHTING FOR US! HE IS THE GOD OF OUR BATTLES!!

    God is fighting for us
    God is on our side
    He has overcome
    Yes, He has overcome
    We will not be shaken
    We will not be moved
    Jesus, you are here

    I will live, I will not die………….

  24. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

This was a great trying time for the children of Israel. They were literally caught between a rock and a hard place. They knew it was only a matter of time before Pharaoh was going to catch up to them and take them back into captivity. I feel that many wanted that to happen, but Moses knew that the power of God was much stronger than Pharaoh’s armies. Moses commanded the children of Israel to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord and they would be delivered.

I find that can apply to anyone that would be willing to stand before God and see the salvation before their own eyes and see that God had revealed to them the greatest plan to save them for a greater future. No matter the size of the enemy, God is always an on time God and he will reveal his power if we just will seek him first.

This song came to me while reading this morning:

He’s an on time God, yes He is
Oh on time God, yes he is
Job said, He may not come when you want him
but he’ll be there right on time.
I tell he’s an on time God
    yes He is

You can ask the children of Israel
    trapped at the red sea
by that mean ol pharoah and his army
they had water all around them
    and pharoah on their track
    You know what?
From out of no where God stepped in
built an highway just like that
    Let me tell you

you can ask the 5000 hungry souls He fed
On the banks of the river
with 2 fishes, 5 loaves of bread
    What a miracle
    He performed for the multitude
Oh! what He did way back then
He’ll do today for me and you

He is the same God today that he was back then. He is the almighty, the great I AM!

  25. 30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

God did all this to show himself mighty to his people… To show them he can protect them, and now begins their schooling, understanding and believing in the God they serve. Help us Lord to know that when you are for us, nothing can stand against us.

  26. Calling beyond the place of comfort with only a battle CRY JESUS JESUS JESUS

When there’s a mess in the middle
    GOD WILL SUPPLY

    Exodus 14:13-14 KJV
[13] And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord , which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. [14] The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

  27. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.

Many ties we question our situation but God’s ways are usually not ours. We have to believe and trust in Him as he will not fail us.

  28. “As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’””
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:10-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Their fear, and their cry to the LORD made sense. Yet their words to Moses showed little faith and a loss of confidence in God.

  29. before the Red Sea

As we saw in the previous chapter, when the Israelites left Egypt, God led them through the desert, instead of taking them on the busiest road The Lord led them through the deseert to teach them what they need to learn before entering the Promised Land.

Redemption is not only about getting out of slavery, but about learning to live in freedom. The Israelites were freed from the heavy burdens of Egypt, but now they must learn to live as free men. God did not set them free to do what they wanted; He redeemed them and paid the price of their freedom, to make them their chosen people. What would have happened if they did what they wanted? Surely slaves would have fallen again.

God not only led them along the longest and impassable path, but also made them camp in a closed place.
(Ex. 14: 1-2) And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the children of Israel to turn around, and camp before Pihahirot, between Migdol and the sea to Baal-Zephon; in front of him you will camp, by the sea.

The place where they first camped was Pi-hahirot , which literally means “mouth of the gorges.” It was a kind of valley located on the shores of the Red Sea and in the shade of high plains ( Migdol , lit. tower). In a way, it was like a dead end.

Why did God take them through that canyon that led to the Red Sea, without a visible exit? The answer is: because I had a lesson to teach them there.

  30. “And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It amazes me how it took this great miracle for the people of Israel to fear the Lord and believe the Lord and Moses. They just seen the great exodus from Egypt and all the miracles of the plagues. But as I dig down deep and search myself I recall times I’ve struggled to stand on the Word. I’ve had to reminded myself that it’s not by flesh and blood but by the Spirit of God that the battle is won. It’s not natural but supernatural.

  31. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

When put in a tough situation, they quickly began to question Moses and act as if God wasn’t even there.

How often are we guilty of the same thing? We look at our current situation and begin to panic as if our God can’t lead us through.

God wanted them to realize that He can deliver from any situation even if it takes the impossible, for He is the God of the impossible!

Often times it is when we see that our only help is God, that we begin to trust in Him. So He takes us to that place where we have no other option.

There was no other way around it, that had to go through it, but God provided a way where there was no way.

He does the same for each of us. Sometimes all He requires of us is to stand still and hold our peace until He reveals His plans.

  32. 13 And Moses said to the people, do not be afraid, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord., which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.

  33. And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
    Exodus 14:19‭-‬20 KJV

Talk about “Before me, behind me, always beaide me”!!!! God literally shielded them from their enemy. The people of Israel doubted His ability to fully deliver them from the hands of the Egyptians but God had a plan all along. Just like when a child says to a bully “I’ma tell my Dad”, I believe Moses had the same attitude. Egypt wants to charge and kill all of Isreal, well guess who has been leading and guiding us this whole time, watching over us and now is protecting us from dangers seen and unseen. My God, My Father, My Provider.

I pray we have the same boldness in Him like Moses. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
    Exodus 14:14 KJV

  34. 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lordcaused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

That is pretty cool that Jesus would make the water to go up so that the people could walk through..

    -Bella

  35. 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lordcaused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

Many times I have been in the middle of some major trouble, and the Holy Ghost has led me out, just to entangle those who were setting me up.

  36. Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

We shouldn’t fear when we are in trouble, we only need to fear the lord.. I want my faith to overpower anything that comes against me. You have full control Jesus!

  37. 13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Daily we fight against the enemy to live for God. He is constantly after the people of God in a effort to keep them locked in bondage. Yet we know that God is able to keep us. He is fighting for us. Think about it HE IS FIGHTING FOR US! The enemy is no match to our God and we can’t compare to Him either. So stop beating the air because God’s God the enemy by the throat. Just keep walking by faith and not sight.

  38. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Jesus fights our battles, it’s because of Him we’re able to remain in victory! We can’t lose faith in His word because that’s when you’ll start to backslide. Jesus will NEVER forsake us, stay strong in the Lord and TRUST in Him no matter what situation you face.

  39. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

When the enemy is hot on your track, it’s not the time to fear, it’s to stand bold. God has our back with every attack the enemy throws our way. Giving up is not an option when you’re pressing forward towards the end. We are victorious.

  40. Exodus 14:14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

“Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
    Jeremiah 1:8

When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”
    Isaiah 59:19

  41. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Fear the first thing that the enemy will try and attack you with. Fear that your self preservation mode will kick in and you won’t even look at what the Lord can do, but will panic and see what you can do. And the answer the devil night be right, in the flesh nothing. You cannot do anything but God. All things are possible if you believe. You must believe in His love. That He really wants the best for you and will fight and protect you. In this case God wanted them to stand still and watch, believe, for the salvation of the Lord. It’s so interesting to see that their immediate reaction when the problem arose and the enemy was at hand, was fear. Instead of encouraging themselves in what God had already done for them and turning that fear into a praise as a weapon. We have seen God do it, and he will do it again, and therefore praise Him for it. That should be the mentality that we should embrace. The enemy is coming in like a flood, raise you banner of praise. And allow God, who inhabits the praises of His people, to show up and show out!!!

  42. The calming hand of a real Pastor

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

A real Pastor knows how to stay his people. Even if he is scared to death himself he knows that he has to stand strong and lead in faith that God will always come thru. We have a Pastor that knows how to stand before us and lead even they the tough stuff. Thank God for that.

  43. “The Lord is my strength, the reason for my song, because he has saved me. I praise and honor the Lord — he is my God and the God of my ancestors.‭‭(Exodus‬ ‭15:2 CEV)

When we put our trust in the Lord and wait and not lean on our own understanding we will find our new strength that’s not in us but in our Lord. (‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬)“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

  44. 12Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’

Even though they have seen miracles, the still think that Pharaoh will get to them. They have the slave mentality of dependency. Continue to pray and serve God diligently, and you will be freed.

  45. “That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:30-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Why does something so dramatic need to happen for people to realize “whoa, that’s totally God, I should probably start paying attention to him!” Before God showed his mighty hand to the Israelites they complained and made snarky remarks, “ugh we’re gonna die, we should’ve stayed where we were.” They lacked so much confidence in God even after all the plagues that had just taken place! Idk, maybe just have crazy faith to believe that God has this without proof!
