Leviticus 2

And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:

And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.

Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.

And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lord: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.

And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.

15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.

16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

  1. 11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

Honey was forbidden, though Canaan flowed with it, because to eat much honey is not good (Proverbs 25:16,27); it turns to choler and bitterness in the stomach, though luscious to the taste. Some think the chief reason why those two things, leaven and honey, were forbidden, was because the Gentiles used them very much in their sacrifices, and God’s people must not learn or use the way of the heathen, but his services must be the reverse of their idolatrous services; see Deuteronomy 12:30,31. Some make this application of this double prohibition: leaven signifies grief and sadness of spirit (Psalms 73:21), My heart was leavened; honey signifies sensual pleasure and mirth. In our service of God both these must be avoided, and a mean observed between those extremes; for the sorrow of the world worketh death, and a love to the delights of sense is a great enemy to holy love.

We are to know what and how we are to present our sacrifices unto the Lord. We are giving what is demanded. We must not allow anyone or anything to take our place in giving to God for the sacrifice. Remember as God gave Moses the instructions then he gives his spirit and word to us today. We can not and must not be complacent with God and the altar. Seek first the kingdom and allow his guidance to direct us.

  2. 14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.

Giving sacrifice shows our faith for God. We sacrifice whatever the lord tells us to whether is money wise, or our personal time. We must do what the lord tells us to do.

  3. Verses 11-13 AMP “No grain offering that you bring to the Lord shall be made with leaven, for you shall not offer up in smoke any leaven [which symbolizes the spread of sin] or any honey [which, like leaven, is subject to fermentation] in any offering by fire to the Lord. As an offering of first fruits you may offer them [leaven and honey] to the Lord, but they shall not go up [in smoke] on the altar as a sweet and soothing aroma. You shall season every grain offering with salt so that the salt (preservation) of the covenant of your God will not be missing from your grain offering. You shall offer salt with all your offerings.” The Amplified version explains a little more as to the “why not” of using leaven (yeast) or honey and the use of salt in their offerings. It does matter what you bring to the Lord and how you bring it.

  4. 13. And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

    Mark 9:
    49. For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

    50. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

    Romans 12:
    1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Every sacrifice must have salt, and our bodies are living sacrifices; therefore, we need salt in our bodies.
    Pass the salt, please.

  5. As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

  6. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

God said no honey, or leaven but he did say in every sacrifice add salt!! Yes he wants us to do things a certain way. It is important that we do so. We make sacrifices daily for the Kingdom. However, when you do make sure to add salt in every sacrifice. God wants the flavor. No one wants to eat a dry steak or and unflavored pork or chicken plate. We need flavor in our lives and our sacrifices. Don’t be boring and regret every sacrifice you’ve given to God. When giving of our money, be a cheerful giver and don’t complain afterwards that you gave too much or you say what you could’ve used that money for. When fasting on a day, don’t complain about how hungry you are so that you can brag or tell people that you are fasting. Fast with a grateful heart. Our sacrifices need salt. If it’s seasoned with something sour God does not want it. Don’t have a sour attitude when sacrificing of our money, time, efforts, etc.

  7. Level 2: 13 [ Amp] Every cereal offering you shall season with salt [ symbol of preservation]; neither shall you allow the salt of covenant of Your God to be lacking from your cereal offering; with all your offerings you shall offer salt .
[ Mark 9:49] For everyone shall be salted with fire. Salt is good ( beneficial) but is salt has lost its saltiness, how will you restore ( the saltness to it) ? Have salt within yourselves, and be at peace and live in harmony with one another. Therefore, Let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, not with leaven of vice and malice and wickness , But with the unleaved [ bread] of purity ( nobility , honer) and sincerity and [ unadulterated] truth. Bring your firstfruits to the Lord and be at peace and harmony with Him. In Jesus name.

  8. 3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

How important it is that the Lord took the time to remind us twice that our Pastor must be taken care by us and that it is THE MOST HOLY OF THE OFFERINGS!!! This month is Pastor Appreciation Month, BE GOOD TO YOUR PASTOR FOR HE WATCHES OVER YOUR SOUL. Keep him and his family in prayer daily for we don’t know what he battles for us. May the Lord alway favor our Pastor, keep him protected at all times, full of the JOY of the Lord which is our strength, and meditating on HIS WORD which is health unto our bones. In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🏻

  9. 10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.
11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire

Godhead specifications for every type of sacrifice and there would be some sacrifices made from animals and then other times there were no meat sacrifices but only grain offerings, all of which were holy and made by fire. It wasn’t the sacrifice itself that made them holy but rather the obedience from the word of God as to how it was sacrificed and what was sacrificed at that time. The word of God tells us that God desires obedience over sacrifice on multiple occasions because it is our response that matters not our actions.

  10. The grain offering was used as a gift offering to the Lord. A gift offering was to thank the Lord for what He has done. Let us remember to thank Him for His goodness, His everlasting mercies, and His love today!

  11. 10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

God provided provision his anointed. It is fitting for the man of God to be provided for.

Matthew 10:10  … for the workman is worthy of his meat.

  12. As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord : but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour. And every oblation of thy grain offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy grain offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
    Leviticus 2:12‭-‬13 KJV

God dont want no Bland offering, he likes it seasoned with salt. Salt is a very diverse seasoning, it can be very beneficial to 1 peice of meat and even the whole meal, it has a tendecy to bring out the flavor of food. Sometimes when we would bring a watermelon from the store, and cut it open, it would be watery, no flavor so my family will put salt and when I tried it, you can taste the sweetness, and flavor of the watermelon, sometimes we have to add that boost to our praise, our offering, our sacrifice, we dont want to offer God bland praise with no flavor, we want to give him our praise full of flavor, full of salt, seasoned and strong.

  13. iLove the Kingdom
Lev 2:13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

This is a great scripture y’all. We are the “salt” of the world. We should never have to search for a salt shaker. In fact, I have on right next to me right now on my desk. In the ancient days, salt was very valuable. I learned a lot of cool things this morning studying salt. Salt was so valuable that the Romans paid their solders party with salt. The word “solider” actually comes from the word salt because they were paid with salt. The word “salad” comes from the word salt because the ones paid with salt would season their leafy greens with salt.

We are the “salt” of the world. We are valuable in the Kingdom. The society we live in has lost its value salt. In fact, the world tries to keep us away from salt. I believe we need more salt in our temple. Let’s be filled with salt

  14. 16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

    A rememberance of sin.

As we read here. The offering was a memorial for the sin, meaning that by what you were sacrificing the priest would know what sin it was that was being rolled over. But hallelujah that we live in a time where Jesus has rose from the grave. That we can go directly to Him and seek for forgiveness.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

  15. Offering
    No shortcuts everything has purpose

10] And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.
[12] As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord : but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
[14] And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord , thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
16] And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord .

    John 2:6 KJV
[6] And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

    Romans 11:16 (KJV)
For if the firstfruit [be] holy, the lump [is] also [holy]: and if the root [be] holy, so [are] the branches.

    Deuteronomy 32:13 (KJV) He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

  16. of your Grain-Offering with salt. Don’t leave the salt of the covenant with your God out of your Grain-Offerings. Present all your offerings with salt.

    SALT
The Bible contains numerous references to salt. In various contexts, it is used metaphorically to signify permanence, loyalty, durability, fidelity, usefulness, value, and purification.

Of course my mind goes immediately to our POFW SALT Ministry Single Anointed Living Triumphantly….
The Bible says we are the salt of the world .
Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

We as Single adults must be sure we do not lose the savor of our salt. Can we by seeking out relationships? Absolutely. Our minds become so involved and desperation to fulfill a natural longing for companionship that we soon could drift away from the First Most Important Relationship that with Jesus Christ. Bringing an offering yet tasteless appearing to be what looks good but has no flavor of true heart worship. Salt was important in this passage of an offering . I pray that as single adults we do not allow any relationship to become more important than our first Love Jesus. This world goes about searching for companionship daily when if we will continue to
Seek First and Keep our First Love tip priority in our life He will take care of the other needs . I truly believe this . Communication with God keeps the flavor or savor of the salt. If we are going to reach this list world we must remain SALT with Savor even in a marriage there still must be the ultimate relationship between you and your First Love Jesus
Keeping your savor as well what a beautiful relationship to be able to reflect Gods reflection to one another as a couple . So whether single or married keeping Salt with savor keeping our First Love is the most important. Seeking first the Kingdom. SALT

  17. Leviticus 2:1-2 (AMP)
    1) When anyone presents a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour, and he shall pour (olive) oil over it and put frankincense on it.
    2) He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests. Out of it he shall take a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and the priest shall offer this up in smoke on the altar (of burnt offering) as the memorial portion of it. It is an offering by fire, a sweet and soothing aroma to the Lord.

Levitius 2:1 (CEV) says, “When you offer sacrifices to give thanks to me,…”

The grain offering was an expression of thanksgiving, and a symbol of thanks to God’s faithful provisions.
We are to “offer the sacrifices of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Heb. 13:15) For HE is our Faithful Provider.
Phil. 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Thank You JESUS for being our Faithful Provider and Supplying All Our Need!!

  18. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

Salt was a valuable commodity and used to pay wages but also to preserve their meats and grains from spoiling. It was truly a sacrifice to offer this valuable item to the Lord. We are the salt of the earth-we are valuable to God. We are a “preserving influence on this world”. We each should “be a preserving influence on your culture. Without our Godly influence, this world would be spoiled. Evil, disease, bacteria, whatever you may call it would conquer but because with God and His people being the salt, we will preserve and bring goodness.”
Some of these comments are from a commentary on the meaning of salt.

  19. 11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

Leaven – a substance, typically yeast, that is used in dough to make it rise.
a pervasive influence that modifies something or transforms it.
dough that is reserved from an earlier batch in order to start a later one fermenting.

Leaven was when you took part of an old batch and mixed it with the new. The old would completely permeate the new.

In the same way, if we were to take something from our past and apply it to our new life, it would eventually permeate our lives and we would find ourselves back to where we used to be.

Perhaps that is was this type of offering was considered unacceptable.

If we want to be an acceptable offering in the sight of God, we must leave our old habits in the past!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬

  20. 1“When you present grain as an offering to the LORD, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense.

What ever we do for God we must give our best effort. God wants everything to be perfect, so we must try to do the same. Present yourself perfect, but humbly. God will accept you the way you are.

  21. Specific stipulations were given depending on how you brought your offering – raw meat, meat baked the oven or meat cooked in a frying pan.

I’m baffled that so many people don’t think the “details” in the bible are important (separation unto the Lord), yet God is specific regarding baked or fried meat that is offered unto Him.

Living for the Lord should not be something “hap hazardously”. It should be intentional, with purpose and plan. We should align ourselves up with the Word and His Spirit each day to make sure that we have the details in place that God is looking for.

    His Word don’t lie!

The POFW Western Day is an annual opportunity to bring an offering of TIME, TALENT and TREASURE. Each of us will have opportunity to bring all 3. In reading this chapter this today I recognized that the offerings that were brought and presented to the LORD included all 3 areas of service.

TIME to select and prepare the offering.
TALENT to prepare and deliver the offering as instructed
TREASURE to give the offering as a gift or sacrifice

We are wise to consider the opportunity before us of investing TIME, TALENT and TREASURE @ThePOFW for the annual Western Day service. Please prayerfully consider the a sacrificial offering and a sacrificial commitment to serve in some capacity on Western Day as we The CHURCH make strong effort to “Impact Fort Worth” with the GOSPEL of JESUS and FELLOWSHIP.

    Lets be intentional to:

    PRAY for our efforts daily
PREPARE for the INCREASE of souls
SERVE the LORD as we SERVE others

  23. Leviticus 2

    Topic: The cereal offering
The offerings tell us about the person and the work of Christ. The Holocaust offering was a figure of Christ in depth and in his death. The grain offering reveals the humanity of Jesus in all its beauty and perfection.
Reading these first instructions will seem to us, at first glance, that we are facing a recipe for making bread. Since there was no bloodshed, this offering was different from all the others. However, it was generally presented with some offerings in which there was bloodshed.
This cereal offering could be presented cooked or uncooked. Aaron and his children received a portion of the offering for themselves, which was to be eaten by all the men of Aaron’s family.
This offering of cereals exposes the humanity of Jesus in all His perfections. His deity is not here in consideration. He was perfectly human, and the perfect human being. God’s goal for man was fulfilled in Jesus.

  24. 1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

When bringing an offering to God, for it to be the best that you have, that if you’re offering towards him is praise, for that praise to be the best that you have.

  25. Again, there is a lot of emphasis on specifics of offerings. I believe offerings remind us of the need to dedicate ourselves to the Lord. It should also encourage us to recognize that all we have comes from the hand of God. Today, our gift of time, talent and treasure to the church is a tangible way in which we understand the binding principles of offerings.

The primary purpose of giving tithes and offerings is to honor God. When we offer up to God our time, talent and treasure, we are telling God that he is more important than any of our material goods. Pastoring and preaching the gospel is a noble profession that enrich not only the lives of a congregation, but also the community. A goal of any congregation should be to financially support their pastor. This will allow him and his family to not be overly concerned for their subsistence. 1st Timothy 5:17 advises us to double honor elders who labor in ministry and preaching the word of God.

  26. A grain offering could also be brought in the form of fine flour already cooked. It could be baked in an oven, cooked on a flat griddle, or in a covered pan.
No matter what its form, the grain offering had to be prepared at home. We can imagine an ancient Jewish woman carefully preparing the best her kitchen could make and presenting it to God as a sacrifice. This expression of devotion to God began at home and if offered with the right heart, it was a sweet aroma to the LORD.

  27. 13 Season all your grain offerings with salt to remind you of God’s eternal covenant. Never forget to add salt to your grain offerings.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. Matthew 5:13

Don’t let the power of God leave your presence. Everywhere we go people must realize that we have something that they don’t. We have to represent the King of Kings. Don’t let the altar burn out but keep the fire burning. Don’t forget to seed the Word of God everywhere we go. We are the salt of this world. Let’s keep sharing His gospel despite the trials around us. Let Jesus known that He is God and All Mighty!!!

  28. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

It tells us in this chapter and also Proverbs to give God our firstfruits. When we cheerfully give our tithes and offering with the right happy attitude that pleases God.

  29. We can leave the whys … for later….
Do it The way God says it. He’ll explain the whys later( if he wants to…)
With leaven. With out it, wit fire , meat, no meat…..
    Just do it!

  30. ““If your offering is a grain offering baked in an oven, it must be made of choice flour, but without any yeast. It may be presented in the form of thin cakes mixed with olive oil or wafers spread with olive oil. If your grain offering is cooked on a griddle, it must be made of choice flour mixed with olive oil but without any yeast. Break it in pieces and pour olive oil on it; it is a grain offering. If your grain offering is prepared in a pan, it must be made of choice flour and olive oil. “No matter how a grain offering for the Lord has been prepared, bring it to the priest, who will present it at the altar. The priest will take a representative portion of the grain offering and burn it on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. The rest of the grain offering will then be given to Aaron and his sons as their food. This offering will be considered a most holy part of the special gifts presented to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:4-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We can imagine an ancient Jewish woman carefully preparing the best her kitchen could make and presenting it to God as a sacrifice. This expression of devotion to God began at home and if offered with the right heart, it was a sweet aroma to the LORD.

  31. 12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

    First Fruits

Theologians believe that “first fruits”, because it is the same word in the Arabic, could have meant not just the fist fruits to come from the vine, but it could have even been the choicest fruits.

In studying this, it brings new thoughts to God not having respect into Cain’s offering. The Word does not tell us that it was his first fruits..

Since The Word cannot contradict itself… that opens a whole new list of questions.

  32. We must bring our best our first as a offering. It matters how and when we bring it to the Lord. Cain brought a offering that was not right to God and it was rejected. Our human natural when we get rejected is to find the reason why and take it out and it brings about sin. Cain ended up killing his brother.
Every day we must bring our best to the Lord (our time, money, talents)

  33. 12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
God gives us step by step when it comes to our offerings. Thank you God for giving us another day to learn more of you and what you want of us.

  34. 9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

The burning of flesh is a sweet savior unto the Lord. He knows that if we could ever get past our desires and our flesh we would surrender totally to His will. When a soul lets their flesh go and places it upon the altar. It draws God’s attention. Let us put away carnality and all manor of flesh and use ourselves as instruments of Worship to Him.

  35. 11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

Back then a burnt offering was given for sin. It was laid on the alter as a sort of atonement. Today we lay our selves at our alter and give ourselves, in exchange for for forgiveness for our sins. A leavening agent when added to dough or batter ferments it or alters it and honey is a natural sweetner. So when we give ourselves to Christ, we should also give ourselves unchanged our sugar coated.🤔

  36. “Do not use yeast in preparing any of the grain offerings you present to the Lord , because no yeast or honey may be burned as a special gift presented to the Lord .
    Leviticus 2:11 NLT

Every time we offer up our sacrifices. They must come out of a pure heart. It mist be a want too not a have too.

  37. The burnt ends

And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

This reminds me of Western Day and when there is a little left over Pastor will split it among those who have worked “ ministered” . This is pleasing to God to see his servants working and having fun together to reach the community. We might even eat a little. Let us make this Western Day an offering into the Lord!

  38. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

No offerings without salt. The salt adds flavor, taste to any meal.

We were called the salt of the earth because of our usefulness and value.

  39. . And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

Our offering, anything we give, the details of how we give it, all matters a lot to the Lord.
Money, time, service all should be offered with a joyful heart.

  40. “He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests. Out of it he shall take a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and the priest shall offer this up in smoke on the altar [of burnt offering] as the memorial portion of it. It is an offering by fire, a sweet and soothing aroma to the LORD. What is left of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the offerings to the LORD by fire.”
    ‭‭LEVITICUS‬ ‭2:2-3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

When what we bring as an offering is added to the fire it creates a sweet soothing aroma to the Lord. This shows the importance of the FIRE! The fire must fall on the offering.

  41. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

Literally now my wife has scripture to support her salt addiction on her food.

Salt is needed to give flavor. The make things taste better and even keep food preserved. Too much salt is bad.

We are called to be the salt of the earth, but be careful, you can over do it

  42. “As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

See that the first fruit wasn’t the sacrifice it was the law. Everything after that was a sacrifice.
Our tithes is a must our offering is our sacrifice. It’s what we have to offer.

  43. Leviticus 2

1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:

3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

  44. Whatever our offering may be, IT HAS TO BE THE BEST of what we can offer GOD!!! CANNOT BE SECOND BEST but THE BEST!!! Cain and Abel’s example is the example that comes to mind when i think about offerings, tithes and serving…….

  45. “You may add yeast and honey to an offering of the first crops of your harvest, but these must never be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭

  46. I love that God gave Israel different burnt sacrifices to offer up to him. No matter how much or how little you have, there is still the opportunity to present bdfore God a burnt sacrifice. It goes to show that when we give financially, the amount isn’t what God focuses on but what it means to you to give it to Him. Sure one can give $1,000 to the church but if it wasn’t a sacrifice and thwie heart wasn’t in the right place, there was no glory in giving. But if one were to give $3, which could have been their all, God sees their faith and has room to bless them. We all know Luke 6:38 but the last part of the scripture says “For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

I pray we give what is due to Him and on top of that our offering unto God. I pray we see the sacrifice not as negative but as a spiritual investment becuase it truly is better to give than to receive.
