Leviticus 14

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:

And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;

Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

11 And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

12 And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the Lord:

13 And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy:

14 And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

15 And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand:

16 And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the Lord:

17 And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering:

18 And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.

19 And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:

20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21 And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;

22 And two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

23 And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the Lord.

24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord:

25 And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

26 And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand:

27 And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the Lord:

28 And the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass offering:

29 And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make an atonement for him before the Lord.

30 And he shall offer the one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he can get;

31 Even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meat offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed before the Lord.

32 This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to get that which pertaineth to his cleansing.

33 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

34 When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;

35 And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house:

36 Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

37 And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall;

38 Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days:

39 And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

40 Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:

41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place:

42 And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.

43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered;

44 Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house; it is unclean.

45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.

46 Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.

47 And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

49 And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

50 And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:

51 And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:

52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:

53 But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.

54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

  1. Purifying; babies cannot be born without travail.

[5] And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: [6] As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

[28] And the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass offering:

[36] Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

[42] And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.

  2. 54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

  3. 7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

While God has changed some his methods , he still has processes and principles to redeem us from the sickness of sin. In the OT they had to be separated from the city for a time as well as presenting themselves to the priests to be examined. A cleansing can take place in many ways oftentimes it is when just set aside our time with God in pure consecration and he is able to purify our hearts and we hold ourselves accountable and come to the man of God, who is our watchman in the tower, for guidance

  4. 5. And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

    6. As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

    7. And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

Talk about a close call – don’t you know that second bird took off singing, “I’ll fly away!”

  5. Then the officiating priest will present that person for purification, along with the offerings, before the Lord at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Grateful for leaders and a man of God who stand in the gap and intercede.

  6. Then the priest will slaughter the lamb for the guilt offering. He will take some of its blood and apply it to the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified. “The priest will also pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand. He will dip his right finger into the oil in his palm and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord . The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.

    The Blood is Applied!!

Skin diseases such as leprosy were often considered judgement from God. So when the blood is applied it is to cleanse the person who has the affliction. Just as the Blood of Christ, when applied, can cover a multitude of sins.
The oil was applied after to consecrate the person to God. Just as after we are baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost we are called to a deeper relationship to be set apart with Him.

The ear represents what we hear from God, the thumb represents what we do for God, and the toe represents our walk with God. It is all cleansed with the Blood and then dedicated back to Him.

  7. 5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

Purification in the Bible came through blood, Fire 🔥, and cleansing of water. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave ALL His Precious Blood, sent the Fire 🔥 of the Holy Ghost and commanded for ALL to be cleansed through water Baptism in immersion in Jesus Name for the remission of our sins!!! Complete Purification by Christ!! Thank you Lord because you always make a way to escape!!!

  8. Verse 32 AMP “This is the law for the one in whom there is an infection of leprosy, [c]whose means are limited for his [ceremonial] cleansing.” It doesn’t matter how rich or poor, the Lord provides a way to become clean/whole.

In the NLT the caption for the second part of the chapter says “Treatment of Contaminated Houses”. What are we doing to protect our homes from contamination? Joshua 24:15 AMP “If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

  9. The law spoke to Moses for the leper and being cleansed to come back into the village of the people. If the priest didn’t declare them clean and they were not anointed with the oil and offer sacrifices with the birds and so forth, they would not be allowed to be released from being leprous.

It is like each of us coming into the church and being unclean with the sin of this world and allowing God to cleanse us from our sin with the covering of his blood. We are made not only clean but we are made whole. We have a fresh anointing and calling on our life. For God called us out of darkness into his marvelous light to be apart of his family. Seeking first the kingdom of God allows us to see his glory and his grace while we walk through this world.

  10. …take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot…

Why the ear? The ear is for listening. How many times does God provide us instruction and we don’t listen? We need His blood on our own ears so we can hear God when He speaks to us. Why was it applied to the right thumb? The hand represents two things. First, is worship and second, service. As the priests they must remember that the service they are conducting is worship. I tend to forget sometimes the things I do are worship. The blood being applied should remind us of our actions and keep them holy.

Why was it applied to the right great toe? The foot takes us places. I had a friend who lost his big toe in a farming accident. It took him a long time to learn to walk again. It is surprising how much our big toe is used in normal daily activities. We cannot walk a straight line. The blood being applied to the toe is to remind us to be holy where we go but also to remind us that we cannot even stand correctly without our big toe.

  11. This chapter tells so much of what it took to transition from being an unclean leper to a clean leper. From not being accepted by the community to being accepted back in.

8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

Similar in the changes we make to ourselves in transitioning after water baptism and cleansing ourselves. We must hypothetically “wash our clothes”, changing to a holier standard. We must “shave the head”, men being clean shaven. We must “wash our flesh”, being smart to change our spirit and our ways.

9 But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.
10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

This transition does not happen overnight. In the scripture it takes days. In ourselves and in others it takes time as well. Help a neighbor out. When seeing a fellow saint struggle, help them to do better themselves.

  12. Total Purification
    Complete Cleansing
    Healing From Guilt and Shame

Through His blood we have been purified by our acts of obedience to the Word of God

    Total cleansing .

Our House can now be clean…..
    Acts 2;38

What can wash away my sins nothing but the blood of Jesus. Because of His sacrifice we no longer have to go through the rituals to be cleansed .

Hebrews 10:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.

Psalm 51:7 King James Version (KJV)

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

“Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22), .

  13. And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house. And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plastered; Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean. And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.
    Leviticus 14:42‭-‬45 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.14.42-45.KJV

Some times situations are worked out, through prayer, fasting, and sometimes they come back around. We tend to think about the pressing issues, not the ones that we’ve hid away, and then they come back up and its chaos! They didnt remove the leprosy in one day, it took time. There was a process, God has his way of getting the issues out of majority of the time we are tearing down. and rebuilding, We didnt develop our issues over night, so we cant think that we are going to resolve them over night. There is a process.

    First the Kingdom
when Joy Comes in the Morning…God is Good

  14. We must take care of ourselves, to keep our minds from dominion of all sinful affections and dispositions, which are both through disease and their defilement, that we may be fit for the service of God..

Touch not the unclean thing, saith the Lord, and I will receive you.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

  15. iLove the Kingdom
The killing of one bird and letting the other one get away can be applied to us today. It seems as if some folks always get away with everything while others are put on the altar as a sacrifice. Just ask Joseph when his brothers threw him into the pit. Joseph’s life was scrificed that day while his brothers continued their own lives. Just ask Joseph again when Potiphar’s wife sacrificed him on the altar and sent him away to prison. Just ask Joseph again when the chief butler was released from prison but Joseph was left behind. Joseph was that sacrificial bird who was put on the altar over and over again while the other bird got to fly away. The Lord is showing me here that it wasn’t the bird who got away that was blessed, but it was the bird who was killed was blessed. Just ask Joseph how blessed he was when he finally got off that altar. Life ain’t fair, most folk don’t really want to get to the root of the issue and so they “fly away” and run from it. Only those who “choose” to fall upon the altar and receive injustices and false accusations in life will receive the true blessings. God will make sure of that. Just ask Jesus. He was led to the cross as a lamb to the slaughter and counted it a blessing when the “other bird” (Barabbas) was released and He was crucified.

  16. 54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

Thank you Jesus that we have the authority over sin, disease and sickness; that we can come before an altar and ask Him directly to forgive us for our sins at any time!

  17. 25 And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

In order for the leper to be cleansed, blood and oil had to be applied.

In order for lives to be cleansed of sin, the blood of Jesus has to be applied to our lives and the anointing oil needs to be poured over us.

  18. 14:34 when ye be come into the land of Canaan which I give to you for a possession and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession.
    ———
All right , the Lord is saying here : …. and I put the plague….
I don’t want my house to be NO CANDIDATE for the to want to Bri g a plague into my house.
Praying for my house. Interceding first my husband and children( Job did it)
Search us of Lord, search my heart and show me and show the sins of your people.
That we may repent and Bri g you glory with our lives.
I don’t want no plague because of ( sin found).

  19. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    EMPTY THE HOUSE

33 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
    34 When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;

Leprosy is a type and shadow of sin. Sin is manifest in many ways but it is only cleansed or atoned one way. The shedding of BLOOD. Understanding this absolute is key to walking in VICTORY.

The BLOOD begins application to our lives through repentance. Repentance is the death of sin and the opportunity for LIFE. What follows repentance is the purification or cleansing and forsaking of sin.

We EMPTY THE HOUSE when we remove all access or opportunity for sin to remain, repeat or revive. The LORD was speaking to Moses with instructions of preventing the contamination of the plague. If the plague has no substance then the plague must die.

The BIBLE says that our body is the house of the Holy Ghost:

1Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

When we EMPTY THE HOUSE of sin, the Holy Ghost will fill us to keep us CLEAN and free from all plague.

    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  20. 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

the Bible goes into great detail when it comes to cleansing. This is same true today. When we come to God we must come to Him in the manner that has already been laid out, not half hearted but in a spirit of forgiveness and wash ourselves daily with His Word that we may daily be cleansed by Him.

  21. 19 And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:

It was the responsibility of the priest to take their sins before the Lord – imagine leading thousands of people and taming all of their sins to God?

The Bible says we have an advocate with the Father… because of Calvary we can take our own sins to the Lord and feel the weight of the sin lifted from our own shoulders. Oh what joy when forgiveness comes.

  22. As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

  23. 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:

Leprosy is cured with antibiotics, yet God has designed a plan in pre-antibiotic days for the healed leper to be considered clean again. God healed the lepers in the accounts we know of and other than that, it was not curable on it’s own. The main problem with leprosy is that it attacks the nerves and the person loses the sense of pain. They could pick up scalding hot containers and not feel it, yet they would be burned. I hate to say this, but we need pain. It is there for so many reasons I couldn’t state them all, but mostly so a person will turn to God, whether it is spiritual, emotional or physical pain.

  24. 47 Anyone who sleeps or eats in the house must wash their clothes. NIV

The same can be applied if you change “house” to “church”. We have the opportunity to receive rest and spiritually fed at every service. But we must FIRST cleanse ourselves. Make ourselves ready to be in the presence of the King of kings!

  25. 46-47 [Amp] Moreover , he who enters the house shall wash his clothes. [48] But if the priest.inspects it and the disease has not spread after the house was plastered, He shall pronounce the house clean, Because the disease is healed.
It is my responseabity to prepare my myself before the Lord. In Jesus name.

  26. 17 And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering:
18 And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.
    Leviticus 14:17-18

On the eighth day, oil was also applied to the cleansed leper. It was both sprinkled on his body in general and then applied to the ear, thumb, and toe just as the blood was. Each of these places on the body was meant to be anointed with oil.
Therefore, a cleansed leper had a special calling and a special anointing. One could not go through such a ritual as this and not be changed.
Since leprosy is a picture of sin, we see how this ritual has spiritual application to ever sinner set free by Jesus. leprosy had no natural cure, it was certain that this ritual was rarely performed and when it was performed at the command of Jesus

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. 14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
    Luke 5:12-14

it must have been a great testimony to the priests at the temple.

  27. “”The priest will use the blood and the water to make the house pure. He will use the live bird to make it pure. He will also use the cedar wood, the hyssop plant and the bright red yarn to make it pure. “Then he must let the live bird go free in the open fields outside the town. In that way he will make the house pure. It will be ‘clean.’ “”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭14:52-53‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

We have an example of this happening in the New Testament for us to be clean today. Christ our High Priest was crucifed and Barabbas was set free. Pilate washed his hands with water to show that he wouldn’t be held accountable for their request. It was all apart of Gods Great Plan to Cleanse His people. Thank you Jesus for Calvary.

“But the chief priests and the elders talked the crowd into asking for Barabbas and having Jesus put to death. “Which of the two do you want me to set free?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!” “Why? What wrong has he done?” asked Pilate. But they shouted even louder, “Crucify him!” Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere. Instead, the crowd was starting to get angry. So he took water and washed his hands in front of them. “I am not guilty of this man’s death,” he said. “You are accountable for that!” All the people answered, “We and our children will accept the guilt for his death!” Pilate let Barabbas go free. But he had Jesus whipped. Then he handed him over to be nailed to a cross.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27:20-26‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  28. ““On the eighth day each person being purified must bring two male lambs and a one-year-old female lamb, all with no defects, along with a grain offering of six quarts of choice flour moistened with olive oil, and a cup of olive oil. Then the officiating priest will present that person for purification, along with the offerings, before the Lord at the entrance of the Tabernacle. The priest will take one of the male lambs and the olive oil and present them as a guilt offering, lifting them up as a special offering before the Lord. He will then slaughter the male lamb in the sacred area where sin offerings and burnt offerings are slaughtered. As with the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest. It is a most holy offering. The priest will then take some of the blood of the guilt offering and apply it to the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified. “Then the priest will pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand. He will dip his right finger into the oil in his palm and sprinkle some of it with his finger seven times before the Lord. The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified. The priest will apply the oil remaining in his hand to the head of the person being purified. Through this process, the priest will purify the person before the Lord. “Then the priest must present the sin offering to purify the person who was cured of the skin disease. After that, the priest will slaughter the burnt offering and offer it on the altar along with the grain offering. Through this process, the priest will purify the person who was healed, and the person will be ceremonially clean.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭14:10-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A cleansed leper had a special calling and a special anointing. One could not go through such a ritual as this and not be changed.

  29. Leviticus 14
Cleaning or ceremonial purification of leprosy.

Again we insist that in these chapters there is no cure for leprosy. It is a ritual cleansing. In the previous chapter we saw the details of the diagnosis of leprosy. Evidently there were lepers who were cured through the treatments of the time and some were healed supernaturally. Today we know that leprosy can be cured. The Bible presents it to us to teach us a great spiritual lesson about sin and its effects on the human being.
This chapter throws a ray of light and hope over the darkness of the leper’s condition. It shows the ceremonial cleanliness that followed the cure of the disease. Which alludes to the redemption of the sinner. The ritual was completely symbolic, although there was a therapeutic value in cleansing and purification.
The remarkable feature of this chapter is the unique ceremony of purification and treatment of the leprosy plague in a house. The house was treated like a leper, obviously, to emphasize the idea of contagion.

  30. 49 To purify the house the priest must take two birds, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch. 50 He will slaughter one of the birds over a clay pot filled with fresh water.

A house must be clean so others can see how you live. Spiritually, your home must be clean. Its up to parents to clean their home of unwanted spirits. Through prayer, bible reading, and listening to christian music at home, purifies your home. Your children will see this, and more than likely will live for God.

  31. Leviticus 14:1-9 (AMP)
    1) Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
    2) This shall be the law of the leper on the day of his (ceremonial) cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest (at a meeting place outside the camp);
    3) The priest shall go out of the camp (to meet him); and the priest shall examine him, and if the leper has been healed of the infection of leprosy,
    4) Then the priest shall give orders to take two live clean birds and cedar wood and scarlet string and hyssop for the one to be cleansed.
    5) Next the priest shall order that one of the birds be killed (as a sacrifice) in an earthenware container over (fresh) running water.
    6) As for the live bird, he shall take it together with the cedar wood and the scarlet string and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the live bird in the blood of the bird sacrificed over the running water.
    7) He shall sprinkle (the blood) seven times on the one to be cleansed from the leprosy and shall pronounce him (ceremonially) clean. Then he shall let the live bird go free over the open field.
    8) The one to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe in water; and he shall be clean. After that he may come into the camp, but he shall stay outside of his tent for seven days.
    9) On the seventh day he shall shave off all his hair: he shall shave his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair (on his body). Then he shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and be clean.

    “Blood and Water”
It took the BLOOD of a sacrifice and the washing of clothes and his body in WATER for a leper to be clean.

St. John 19:34 says, “But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out BLOOD and WATER.”
JESUS became the sacrifice for us. It takes the BLOOD of JESUS and WATER Baptism (being fully immersed in WATER) in JESUS Name for the sinner to be clean.

  32. 57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

    To teach.

think about everything you have ever learned. Now think of those who taught you those things. So now Thank a Teacher. As we read here they taught the people what to look for. Just as today we need to teach the next generation what it means to serve God, and to seek after Him. There was a saying that I saw awhile back and it says this,” I thought about quitting, but then I noticed who was watching.” Who is watching you? is it your kids or grandkids, or maybe its that little boy or girl in Sunday school, that looks at you every time they see you. you may never say hello but they see you and think to themselves, they are big, i wan to be like them when I grow up.
We never know who is really watching. This is why it is s important to seek after His Kingdom everyday, so that when who ever is watching you see the Kingdom of God. They will be pointed towards the Kingdom.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, because others are watching you.

  33. 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

  34. LEVITICO 14:1-9

  35. 36 Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

    37 And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall;

Be careful what you let come in and affect your household, it might be hard to get out!

  36. This chapter further emphases the fact that God has particular instructions for believing in Him. To be healed and praise for healing requires us to believe in his word and his instructions for us to live a better life.

  37. 54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.
People actually went through this, and had to pay attention to every detail if not I would assume they didn’t get healed. I would compare leprosy to any bad habit internally that we battle. If you don’t get that habit under control and break the chains then it will take over you. That’s why we have to constantly feed our soul, hear the word, pray, repent and keep seeking/growing with Jesus. We can overcome anything with Jesus he has given us the power. Thank you Jesus for loving me and giving me life.

  38. 52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:

Blood and water. Somehow a type and shadow of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. When he was pierced on his side water and blood came out. This running blood cleanses us. The waters of baptism wash us. It is only the blood of the Lamb that washes away our sin and iniquity.

  39. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

According to the world GOD doesn’t exist much less speak. People will have a ride awakening when time comes if they don’t repent!!! Until then THE GOSPEL MUST CONTINUE TO BE PREACHED IN WORD AND IN ACTION!!! It does no one good to only speak The WORD and not live it!!! We are HIS hands, feet, mouth, and heart!!! MARCH ON CHURCH, MARCH ON!!!

  40. Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
The Spirit of the Lord is the energy which produces all righteousness and purity in human spirits. Our prayer should be, ‘Make me separate from evil, and that I may be so, claim and keep me for Thine own. Purge me with hyssop, with the blood of Christ applied to my soul by a lively faith, as the water of purification was sprinkled with a bunch of hyssop. The blood of Christ is called the blood of sprinkling, Heb 12:24. If this blood of Christ, which cleanses from all sin, cleanse us from our sin, then we shall be clean indeed.

Let my spirit be emancipated from sin by willing obedience.’ This goes very deep into the heart of all true godliness. The only obedience which God accepts is that which gladly.

  41. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord , and he pondereth all his goings. His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
    Proverbs 5:21‭-‬23 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/pro.5.21-23.KJV

Dont let your mind wonder. Allway seek Jesus and let him lead your path. Follow his instrutiond and stay obedient.

  42. We should never take it for granted how good we actually have it. Jesus, the lamb that was slain that now is the absolute only reason we don’t have to sacrifice animals on the altar. It was literally a job to get forgiveness for sins. Now all our power is in our very own tongues and humility to pray and ask for the forgiveness of our sins.
If you can’t think of anything to thank Jesus for, just thank him for his sacrifice.

  43. “These are the regulations for anyone who has a defiling skin disease and who cannot afford the regular offerings for their cleansing.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭14:32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God always provides a way no matter the situation. He already knows where you’re coming from and he’s already made a special way for you to work around the issue.

  44. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭17:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I thank God for the blood! Jesus blood gives us life and atones our souls.
