Leviticus 22

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the Lord.

Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord.

What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;

Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;

The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.

And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.

That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith; I am the Lord.

They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the Lord do sanctify them.

10 There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

11 But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.

12 If the priest’s daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.

13 But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall be no stranger eat thereof.

14 And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.

15 And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the Lord;

16 Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

18 Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the Lord for a burnt offering;

19 Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

20 But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

21 And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.

22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the Lord.

23 Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

25 Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

28 And whether it be cow, or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day.

29 And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will.

30 On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am the Lord.

31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.

32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,

33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

  1. 1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings the Israelites consecrate to me, so they will not profane my holy name. I am the Lord.
    3“Say to them: ‘For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the Lord, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the Lord. NLT

    we as the priest was told by Moses, must be clean in order to approach the altar to give sacred offerings unto God. We come from many walks of life and many backgrounds. But once we are cleaned by the infilling of the Holy Ghost and buried in Jesus name baptism we can come near the altar and the sacred offerings.

    When Jesus cleansed is, scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 5-

    17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

    We have become new creatures in Jesus.

    Not only do we become new, we become a heir and joint heir.

    Romans 8:12-17 states

    12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

    1 Peter 2:9

    9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

    This tells me that I have the right given unto me to approach the throne of God because we have been covered by his blood and made whole without any defects. For his love and mercy covers a multitude of sin. To love each one of us so much that we can be trusted with such a part of the kingdom of God.

    1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

  3. So in Leviticus Chapter 22 verses 1-3 it’s telling me is that Jesus had spoken to Aaron and his sons about the Holy Name and the Children of Israel and whosoever see among generations will have his uncleanliness and your soul shall be cut off from the presence

    Thank you Jesus that I can boldly approach the throne without any worry of sickness, disease or infirmity.

  6. 22:32 Neither shall you profane my holy name, but I will be hollowed among the children of Israel. I am the Lord which hollow you .

  7. 31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.
    32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,
    33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

    Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: God commanded Israel and especially the priests to keep His commandments and to honor His name because of who He is (I am the LORD), because of what He is (My holy name), because of what He is doing (I am the LORD who sanctifies you), and what He has done (who brought you out of the land of Egypt).
    Surely, these four things are true of the believer in relation to God today and are each valid and important reasons for obedience.

    If the natural in the Old Testament is compared with the supernatural in the New Testament then that must mean we must be complete coming to Jesus. Not one foot in and one foot out but 100% in it for Jesus. We can’t talk filth all day then come to Jesus looking for answers without repentance and if we’re in true repentance then we’re turning away from sin and not returning.
    I’m not saying you can’t come to Jesus with a broken heart or a broken something and not get what you need from God. Because Jesus will give you a miracle. What I’m saying is without blemish is how you should approach the King. Walk through the tabernacle and walk through repentance so the eye you plucked out for plucked out can be restored with repentance. Or the hand you cut off that offended the other can be restored through repentance.

  9. 2 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the Lord.

    Separation is vital in our walk with God but it doesn’t mean we cannot build relationships with others. There must be a defined line between us and sin but we can love the person and hate their sin all at the same time.

    Let us understand that we are fighting a spiritual battle here, not a battle against people. The devil will often put in ones mind the face of the person because they are tangible and we can physically see them but the reality is we are fighting against the stronghold satan has on people not the person.

    When we engage in sin we profane God’s name but when we fight incorrectly we also profane God’s name. Let us learn to fight in the spirit and not with our flesh. Separating ourselves from unholy yet humble enough to genteelly lead others to Christ.

  10. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    ENOUGH TO BE THANKFUL FOR

    31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.
    32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,
    33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

    What is required for us to “Keep HIS Commandments”?

    I AM the LORD is HIS proclamation to humanity. Why do we consistently seek Blessings and Affirmation from HIM to prove to us that HE Loves us?

    I AM THE LORD

    Should be enough for us to follow, serve and keep. I am reminded of my adolescence and when my mother would give a command and my sister or I would ask why; my mothers frequent resonse was “because I said” and we would go and fulfill the command.

    GOD has confirmed HIS deity and reminded of HIS deliverance to us all. This is ENOUGH TO BE THANKFUL for. Dont place undo pressure on yourself to be rich or famous to prove that GOD loves you.

    Have integrity and be obedient to GOD and Favor will follow.

  11. Leviticus 22:33, “That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.”

    Just as God brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, to be their God, He has brought us out of the world (Egypt), to be our God.

    Thank You JESUS!! YOU Are My GOD!!

  12. 24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

    They were to offer God the best they had. Can you imagine offering God your discards? We too are to offer God our best, to seek him first when we are fresh, alert and before we start our days work. Seek him FOR your day ahead. And yes, we seek him through the day and evening as well, but giving him the first part if our day is best.

  13. 11. But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.

    Like Bro. Azzolini preached, the children reap the benefits of the father. We are both God’s servants and His children.

    It is dangerous to play with God. Some people willingly sin on a continual basis and still come to the house of the Lord and pretend that they are okay. Pride is a dangerous thing. When we begin to act out of pride instead of humility it could cost us our salvation.

    A humble and contrite spirit is what the Lord requires of us on a daily basis. A pure heart, undefiled can approach the throne of God and find entrance into His presence.

    Exodus 20:7
    7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

    When we use Gods name out of context, or when we lie in thehis name, it say that God has said something that he didnt, we need to careful how we use his name, his name is so powerful…

    philippians 2:9-11

    9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

    First the Kingdom
    God is good

  16. 24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

    What we offer before God must be our first fruits and without defect. God is the creator of all things and owns all things. If He really wanted burnt offerings he would have burned them himself. He is able to do anything and is by no means dependent on us. Our obedience and submission shows God our love for him. We would not offer a gift to our family members or friends that is mess up. So we should not offer God anything but our best.

  17. Leviticus 22

    In this chapter, there are several sub-divisions. The first section is directed to the responsibilities of the priests. Then comes a short section on the rights of the priesthood and those who may, to some extent, join in those rights. After that is a section on suitable offerings, and those which are to be rejected. And finally, there is a short section which further defines sacrificial parameters.

    These are certainly not the end of the sacrifices mentioned in Leviticus, but they are a necessary part prior to what lies ahead. One would think that with all of the detail, and all of the repetition in this book, the people would have not only known what to do, but would have done it. Or if they did those things, they would at least have done them properly.

    Think it through, we have the Lord. He has established a priesthood which performs at a specific sanctuary, and what they do is based on specific guidelines. The things that are brought to them are based on minute details of what is acceptable and what is not. The people were aware of these things, and so if they didn’t want to do them, as detailed, then why do them at all?

    Again, think it through… in order for the offering to be accepted, it had to meet all of these specific criteria. As the offering is to the Lord, and as mandated by the Lord, then it would make no sense to offer anything at all unless it was properly done. Right? Why would you go to work if you knew you were not only going to not be paid, but that you would also be beaten for showing up? And the reason for this is that you refused to wear the right uniform.

    If you did, you would get paid and not beaten up. But as long as you wear the wrong one, there is no benefit in even going, much less going inappropriately. This is what Israel is being instructed on, and so they knew what to expect if they didn’t pay heed to what they were supposed to do. And yet, they still didn’t do… what they were supposed to do!

  18. LEVITICO 22:2
    * “Di a Aarón y a sus hijos que se abstengan de las cosas santas”.

    * Debemos acercarnos al trono de Dios con toda reverencia, temor, santidad y sinceridad, evitando toda impureza.

    *Nuestro Dios es un Dios excelentemente Santo!
    Y por lo tanto el quiere que su Pueblo seamos también Santos en todo lo que hagamos para así representar Su Reino dignamente!

  19. 6 The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.

    7 And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.

    “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

    Thankful to serve a God who’s mercies are made new everyday! Though we must be carful not to take his mercy for granted and as a license to sin. We are still called live a holy life, His mercy is just there to catch us when we stumble.

  20. Leviticus 22: 32-33 [Amp] Neither shall you profane My holy name [ applying it to an idol, or treating it with irreverence or contempt or as a byword] ; But I will be hallowed among the Israelites. I am the Lord, Who consecrated and makes you holy.
    [33] Who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord. Be obeintant and submissive to God shows our love to him. When times are tough to face God is always there to make it right. I am so thankful for every thing he has done for all of us.

  21. iLove the Kingdom
    Lev 22:25 Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

    Why couldn’t the Children of Israel just take the goat that was sick and nearly dead and give it as an offering to God? The same reason why we can’t just give him the left over wadded up dollar bills that are change from that $100 bill. God don’t want the left overs y’all. Let’s honor God with a pure heart and get this right. He deserves the best part not the left overs.

  22. Leviticus 22
    31 “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. 32 Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord, who made you holy 33 and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord.”

    When you truly love it is easy to follow the One you love commands. How much do I live Him. With all of my heart not just a part. 99 and 1/2 will not do.

    “If you love me, keep my commands

    Sanctification comes through obedience. It is a sign from God that we are his children and he is cleansed us of all that is unholy. Obedience is more than just a sign of submission but rather a symbol of love and belonging. The more we are obedient to Christ… We become sanctified and holy in his sight becoming more evident that we are of his seed

  24. 19 Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

    20 But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

    When a offering is being made it is to be without blemish.

    Ephesians 5:26-27 (NKJV)

    26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

    We are to present our selves clean and washed before God.

  25. Superfluous

    All too often we get tied up with our day to day lives, and forget that Jesus saved us from the mess we were in, so that we might be able to spend eternity with Him.

  27. We must separate ourselves from the things of this world. You cannot live holy and live in sin at the same time. We are God’s children, called to live holy and be set apart from the things of this world. Our God is holy, so we must be holy.

  28. Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord , having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord .

    It is so important that we be clean when praying with others. Repenting and making sure our heart and mind are right with God steps into doing this. I thank God for His grace and mercy and using anyone to for His purpose.

  29. 24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

    It really does matter what you give. That which you give unto the Lord, whether time, talent and treasure, it all gets seen by the Lord. So what are you bringing? Of that which is left? Or if your best? We must remember that he gave Himself as a ransom. He who knew no sin, but was perfect, and blemish free gave it all for you and me. We must take this into consideration as we give to God, whether in offering of money, offering of time serving with our talents.

  30. 31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.

    32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,
    Wants just g
    33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

    Staying holy and sacrificing carnal ways is what God wants. We are to be good examples and shine for him.

    To hallow is “to make holy or sacred, to sanctify or consecrate, to venerate”. The adjective form hallowed, as used in The Lord’s Prayer, means holy, consecrated, sacred, or revered.
    Holiness is an attribute of God that he desires that we emulate. God alone has the power to make us holy.  During Old Testament times they performed sacrifices and brought offerings that all pointed to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus. When we believe in Jesus we need to continually seek His forgiveness for the sins we commit daily.  1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”   Coming to God often to seek His cleansing is very important.  Then we need to fill ourselves and our thoughts with good things.  Philippians 4:8 “ Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”   We need to stay in God’s Word. “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”   Fellowship with believers, worship and serving others are all ways to immerse oneself in activities that point towards personal holiness in Jesus.  Lastly, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 admonishes us “ Abstain from every form of evil.”  Being holy is a life-time growing process that can only be achieved through faith in Jesus.  It is not an option as God commands us “be holy because I am holy.

When we believe in Jesus we need to continually seek His forgiveness for the sins we commit daily.  1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”   Coming to God often to seek His cleansing is very important.  Then we need to fill ourselves and our thoughts with good things.  Philippians 4:8 “ Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”   We need to stay in God’s Word. “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”   Fellowship with believers, worship and serving others are all ways to immerse oneself in activities that point towards personal holiness in Jesus.  Lastly, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 admonishes us “ Abstain from every form of evil.”  Being holy is a life-time growing process that can only be achieved through faith in Jesus.  It is not an option as God commands us “be holy because I am holy.

  33. To hallow is “to make holy or sacred, to sanctify or consecrate, to venerate”. The adjective form hallowed, as used in The Lord’s Prayer, means holy, consecrated, sacred, or revered.
    Holiness is an attribute of God that he desires that we emulate. God alone has the power to make us holy.  During Old Testament times they performed sacrifices and brought offerings that all pointed to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus.   34. Verse 31 MSG “Do what I tell you; live what I tell you. I am God.” Same verse NLT “You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.” 1 John 5:3 CEV “We show our love for God by obeying his commandments, and they are not hard to follow.”

  35. 32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,

    33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

    God is the only entity that can make us holy. We cannot do it ourselves, nor can an outside influence.

    God has saved His people expecting that we would return to Him in love, reverence, and gratitude. He deserves that much and so much more. He deserves our faithfulness, as He has remained faithful to us. He deserves our reverence and our commitment to defend holiness.

  37. 32 Do not bring shame on my holy name, for I will display my holiness among the people of Israel. I am the LORD who makes you holy.

    Basically, don’t use God’s name in vain. Be careful of words you shout out unexpectedly. Many use God’s name without realizing it. Think before you speak.

  38. 29 And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will.

    How often do we remember to be greatful and give thanks?
    Could it be that once ours prayer is answered we run off and forget to offer our gratitude.
    I’m grateful today for his mercy and the blood He shed for me.

  39. 19 Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.
    20 But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

    You shall offer AT YOUR OWN WILL. God will not make you do something. Pastor will not make you sacrifice you have to do it at your own will, if you want to do as asked is your choice. And then even at your own will it must be without blemish. Don’t offer praise or sacrifice that is dirty with issues or sin.

    21 And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
