Numbers 6

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lord:

He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

All the days that he separateth himself unto the Lord he shall come at no dead body.

He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.

All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord.

And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.

10 And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

11 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day.

12 And he shall consecrate unto the Lord the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled.

13 And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

14 And he shall offer his offering unto the Lord, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings,

15 And a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings.

16 And the priest shall bring them before the Lord, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:

17 And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.

18 And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.

19 And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven:

20 And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

21 This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and of his offering unto the Lord for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.

22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,

24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

  1. 1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: 3He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. 4All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.
5All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no rasor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

Reading the instructions that the Lord demanded when makings vow to separate themselves from things that would cause any hindrance of their vows unto God. Their strict discipline was tough to say the least. But when you are committed to the calling you will sacrifice all to be disciplined.

The word of God tells the New Testament church in 2 Corinthians 6:

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

This is a discipline that those that claim to be blood bought born again believer filled with the power of the Holy Ghost must adhere to with the sake of Holiness. We have to live and walk the word of God. We have to be the example and the light to a world full of sin and immorality. We have to be the church that Hid called us to be.

  2. I pray that the Lord will bless and protect you, and that he will show you mercy and kindness. May the Lord be good to you and give you peace.”
    Numbers 6:24‭-‬26 CEV
Many people rather look to the things of the world to ‘seek’ peace, comfort, joy, fulfilment ect. But nothing else will do. Just to know that today i have peace in Christ knowing in Him i have everything!! What a blessing to be alive, i am breathing His breath of life today👐❤
‘His grace is sufficient for me’

  3. Numbers 6
24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them

Peace is what this world is truly looking for .
They look for it on everything but where it truly can be found. Pain goes deep and turmoil is rampant. We the body of Christ must walk throughout these places of chaos confusion and helplessness. This is why our feet must be covered with the preparation of Peace. Prepared to encourage . Prepared to share the Prince of Peace. It’s time to be conscious of sharing Jesus not only with the world but with fellow brothers and sisters.

    Philippians 4:7
    New International Version
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

His peace guarding hearts and minds.
Remember you are not alone and when you feel like it find someone else who could be feeling the same way. Share Gods peace pray together read the word together laugh together and share in their pain . We don’t have answers to life but we know The One Who can bring Peace…..It will go beyond human understanding Peace Peace Wonderful Peace coming down from the Father above sweep over my spirit forever I pray in fathomless billows of love!

  4. Verses 22-27 MSG “God spoke to Moses: “Tell Aaron and his sons, This is how you are to bless the People of Israel. Say to them, God bless you and keep you, God smile on you and gift you, God look you full in the face and make you prosper. In so doing, they will place my name on the People of Israel—I will confirm it by blessing them.” This reminded me of the prayer and declaration that we pray…..”We are blessed going in and we are blessed going out”.

It also reminded me of our review for today in Sunday School. This entire quarter has been about how God chooses leaders, develops leaders and helps leaders. When trying to walk the path that God has set before us, temptations and hindrances will arise; but, God has given us help (Godly leaders, friends, teachers, His Word, our Pastor and the Holy Ghost) to help us follow Him and stay on the right path. Great leaders first begin as great followers. People who demonstrate submission, honor and respect when following their leaders are more likely to receive those things when they become leaders.

  5. 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

As kings and priests of God, this is one of the things that have been passed down from the old testament is his promise to us. God has continued blessed us and kept us in peace he is continuously smiled upon us just because we are his children. There is no better honor than being a child of God and having the blessing of being obedient to Him. We can make God smile, imagine that, the God of this universe and all his glory, smiling upon his children just for doing what they have been called to do. No greater joy than to please the Lord

  6. 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

  7. As I read this all I could remember were the catholic rituals I saw in my youth. When I went to my cousin’s consecration for her to become a nun. Anyone that knows me knows I don’t like nuns. I went to an all girl catholic school and they were very mean to me. Anyway, I remember that they offer the bread of communion up to the heavens and then shaved her head. It was hard to watch for she had beautiful hair. God wants a sacrifice of purity. To stay pure in spirit and in flesh in front of Him. To serve Him only separate from the world. Peculiar for Him!!! Thank you Jesus for showing us that what you seek is a pure relationship with us and not empty rituals that are only symbolic but have no truth behind it.

  8. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    BE A BLESSING

23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

How many people can I Bless in a day. We witness here the powerful influence of the tongue. We are also witness to the power of the spoken word.

The LORD affirmed that if the words were spoken then GOD would BLESS. I commit to set a daily GOAL to BLESS at least 10 people every day. Saying:

“The LORD Bless you and keep you. The LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The LORD lift you and give you PEACE. JESUS Bless you today.”

The LORD said that if we say that then HE will BLESS them!

We should BLESS our Family EVERY DAY.

  9. Numbers 6: 26-27 [Amp] The Lord lift up His
[ approving] countenance upon you and give you peace ( tranquility of heart and life continually).
[27] And they shall put My Name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them. The world is looking for peace and joy. I pray that the people will find Jesus and give there lives to him to do a mighty work in there lives. I give myself to you Lord, forgive me, search my mind, My attitude, and my heart. Let us shout joy and think about what he did for your lives.

  10. May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’ Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭6:24-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

His one desire is relationship with us; blessings follow when we consecrate ourselves unto Him. “I am here for You, to worship You, this moment will not pass me by. Because I’m in love with You, in awe of You. I’m giving everything away.”

  11. Separate yourself
Don’t wrestle with the voice when “be ye separate has been spoken”

    Numbers 6:6 KJV
[6] All the days that he separateth himself unto the Lord he shall come at no dead body.
[8] All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord .
[24] The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: [25] The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26] The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27] And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

    Genesis 32:1,24-27 KJV
[1] And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

24] And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25] And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. [26] And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27] And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

    Numbers 22:26 KJV
[26] And the angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.

  12. 24. The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

    25. The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

    26. The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

    27. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

    Only Jesus
    Can satisfy your soul
    And only He
    Can change your heart
    And make you whole;
    He’ll give you peace
    You never knew
    Sweet love and joy
    And Heaven too,
    For only Jesus
    Can satisfy your soul.

24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

Wow, I’ll be the first to agree that some of these laws and vows are quite strange… I know there is a deep meaning somewhere in here but it has yet to be revealed…but verses 24-27 up yonder have been revealed and they are awesome promises that we need to hold onto! PTL.

  14. 6:24-27 The Lord bless thee and keep thee, the Lord make his face shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee,.
The Lord will lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel and I will bless them.
    ——-
…. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel….
    We are blessed people!!!!
Before, we were without God, living according to our own laws doing what we wanted to, without hope without a knowledge about life” everlasting life”.
But now, The Lord has come time to , He has rescue us from the powered of darkness……
I am blessed and forever thankful that I get to be one of his now.

  15. 22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

The Israelites were instructed to bring offerings of sacrifice to redeem themselves from their breaking a vow / sinning against the Lord. Then Aaron was instructed by Moses to bless the people.

There is a blessing that comes once repentance and forgiveness occurs. When we walk in obedience, we find true victory and authority. This is the path for living an overcoming life.

  16. We are his and he is ours! Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to belong to you. I am allowed to share this to all that I meet and have dealings with. What a glorious God we serve.

  17. 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

Thank you Jesus for your peace in the good times and in the bad times! I know the Peacespeaker!

  18. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lord:

3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

6 All the days that he separateth himself unto the Lord he shall come at no dead body.

7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.

8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord.

Anymore questions about separation ( Holy)? It’s a lifestyle with the price tag that says sold out completely with the policy no return back.

  21. the Israelite’s were commanded to separate themselves from the world to purify themselves for the lord to vow a vow as a nazarite

  22. As life keeps going , as we get older , as things keep challenging our life’s and our walk with God we must never ever forget to put Jesus first in our mind, heart, soul, strength … Because he is the life the truth and the way . We not perfect but he is … Now with the flesh in the way , the world in the way, the enemy in the way .. it doesn’t matter nothing can stop and unstoppable God . Let’s keep loving , let’s keep walking in Truth , let’s keep being a light in darkness . Jesus is worthy

    Numbers 6:2 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/num.6.2.KJV

When they made a vow of a Nazerite it was purposed to seperate themselves from things that causes impairment. It was to bring them closer to God in their rawest form. Uninfluenced unaltered and clean. As Apostolic, born again, Holy Ghost filled Christians i like to believe that we take a similar vow. We seperate ourselves from the world. Becoming uninfluenced by the temptations of the world. Our minds are not altered by today society of acceptance. Annnnndddd….. We are WASHED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

  25. 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

The Lord blessing is still among us and it’s new every day! For that I am thankful. We must live and give Jesus to those who are lost, so they can obtain the Lord’s blessings.

  26. He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
These verses talk about how If you submit to god than he will do great things but you might have to do something you might not want to do to get the benefit and submit to god

  27. 8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord.

The Nazarite vow is a period of time a person vows to separate himself into the Lord. Stepping away from certain things will bring them closer to God. We have a week of consecration coming up at the beginning of the year to step away from the plate and closer in our relationship with God. Perspective changes when we do. This is the reason for the vow.

  28. One I was reading the blog it was talking about beaver skin and it said that it was meant to be a symbol for achievement of your goals or to protect in this case I think that it might be protecting because of you lay something on top of something that means that you are protecting something and once you protect something it keeps it in good shape so once they were protecting it they were trying to keep it in good shape for god

    Joseph

  29. Apply the name

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

My wonderful children were born and my husband and I collectively named them. They would all take my husbands last name because he is there father. Yet spiritually they take on the name of Jesus because where His name is there is protection, peace, and blessings.

  30. 26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

There are blessings in the name. . The name of Jesus is more powerful than any situation you may encounter. The difference is in the the name, when you pray in the name of Jesus all that power comes with you as well.

  31. When you finished your vow, you shave your hair and burn it with a peace offering to God. Wow, the burning of the uncut hair when their vow is completed. Today we separate ourselves to God in a similar sense. We do not cut our hair, but our vow doesn’t end either.

  32. 18 And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.

When the bow is over they put their hair in the fire. Burning hair stinks terribly. Everyone would know that the bow was finished just by the smell. But more than that the hair was placed under the peace offering. More than that the priest are to eat the peace offering. It would be a true submission to the word to eat that meat after being burnt with hair off someone’s head. True submission isn’t tested when you agree or want to do it.

  33. 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

It is the peace of God we need as we live in this chaotic world. We must live it and give it to those we encounter.

  34. 27Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

That name will become known as Jesus! Its as if God was preparing future generations of who was to come, by saying “in my name”.

  35. Numbers 6
