Numbers 8

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses.

And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the Lord had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord.

12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the Lord, to make an atonement for the Levites.

13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the Lord.

14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

20 And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

21 And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the Lord; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

24 This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

  1. 26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

I’ve met a lot of people who want to preach because they have a word but they don’t want the life of a preacher. They seem to want the greater aspects of the job without knowing the burdens that come with it. Being a minister is a burden many don’t want to truly take, and most don’t understand the pain that comes with it. The book of James chapter 3 tells us to be not many Masters because they should receive a greater condemnation. God is always held his ministers at a higher level of expectation.

  2. The Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron lifted them up and presented them to the Lord as a special offering. He then offered a sacrifice to purify them and make them right with the Lord . After retirement they may assist their fellow Levites by serving as guards at the Tabernacle, but they may not officiate in the service. This is how you must assign duties to the Levites.”

  3. Numbers 8:4 (Amp) And this was the workmanship of the candlestick; beaten or turned gold, beaten work [ of gold] from its base to its flowers; according to the pattern which the Lord has shown Moses, so he made lampstand.
God is the Light of the World, Be the light, walk in the light . Those who do the work of God must be cleansed from all defilement of flesh and spirit.
Genesis 1:3-4 ] And God said , Let there be light; and there was light.[4] And God saw that the light was good ( suitable , pleasant ) And he approved it; And God separated the light from the darkness. Be like Jesus everywhere you go. Let your light shine .

  4. 11. And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord.

    14. Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

    15. And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

    21. And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the Lord ; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

God called us to be something more. He brought us out, sanctified us, and put us strategically where we need to be.

  6. The big picture I get here is our life is very special to God. It is strategically planned out by him and he is there every step of the way. So finding your way in life is not hard, Jesus is the way and you have a book to guide you with every step you take. Wow, God is so good!

  7. Numbers 8

    Light and Purification
3-4 Aaron did just that. He installed the lamps so they threw light in front of the Lampstand, as God had instructed Moses. The Lampstand was made of hammered gold from its stem to its petals. It was made precisely to the design God had shown Moses.

    JESUS
THE LIGHT through Him revealed everything . The golden candles risers the only light in the tabernacle. We may feel we are reading relatively what we’ve already read in previous chapters in the Bible .
We may. BUT repetitiveness is the key to memorization. Jesus is the light that can reveal what needs to be purged from our life. Reading on about the Absolution Offering there had to be a purging .
“ Absolution is a religious concept for purging someone of sin, granting them absolution. … In many religions, if you confess your sins, you can be granted absolution: the sin is forgiven, forgotten, wiped clean. Usually, the sinning person has to do some kind of penance to atone for the sin to achieve absolution.”

There’s so much here light made of hammered gold purification sins forgiven.

Jesus gives such a pure example of giving light to the world it was through His suffering the work could be saved . His earthly trial through the fire.giving us the hope for today .
No we are to be the light to the city of Fort Worth or wherever we are. Each night as I turn to go through the gate of my apartment I can see the curt outlived by the lights the buildings . Such a large city I pray how God can we reach how can we be THE LIGHT?
Without light it’s hard to know where you are going. Without trials testing how could I share what God has done how His light has changed me. Every day every day I see faces filled with pain there are many dark places waiting for light. I thought about Bro Morgan installing the lights for the sign JESUS. JESUS has installed in us the Light to shine He has taken us through the fire to purify us as gold to reflect His glory and to reveal what He has done for our life.
Sin can be purged forgiven forgotten . We can be the light to this world .
We must reveal who JESUS to this World
Young old crippled blind they all must know JESUS.

    Matthew 5:14
    English Standard Version
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

    I Peter 1:7
so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

  8. 6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

As Christians we must do all we can to stay pure before the Lord. His blood has cleansed us of sin as signified through baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost gives us the power to overcome sin.

  9. 16“Of all the people of Israel, the Levites are reserved for me. I have claimed them for myself in place of all the firstborn sons of the Israelites; I have taken the Levites as their substitutes.

Once we are baptized and accept God as our Savior, God will claim you for himself. You become part of the Lord’s army. You have the power and authority to defeat the enemy.

  10. The Levites became desperate on the day that the Passover came. On that night God took the firstborn, but he deceived to spare all the Levite’s who were saved by blood. The blood of the lamb cover their door post and allowed for them to not die. This symbolizes the blood of Jesus on us that separates us from the world and allows us to be holy unto Hod today.

  11. 5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

  12. 20 And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

In order to do their service, the Levite’s had to be pure. In order to properly serve among the tabernacle, we must also be purified. Daily approach the altar and ask the Lord to examine you and sanctify you.

  13. 17 For all the first born of the children of Israel are mine both man and beast: on the day that I smote every first born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
18 And I have taken the Levites for all the first born of the children of Israel.

We are children of God but once we have true salvation we are like his army. We all have certain things we must do for our Lord.

  14. 23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

The Levite’s were chosen of God to perform the services unto God. They were picked by God and given charge to do specific duties. They were even told at what age and how long they would serve. Moses followed the commandments just as God layed them out. They were to be cleansed and also their clothes had to be cleansed.

As a servant in the service for the kingdom of God, we are charged with the same commandments. We are to cleanse ourselves and rid ourselves from the sin that will bind us up. We have to become disciplined enough to shake loose the shackles that confine us to doubt and unbelief. We have been chosen to serve God in the greatest opportunity in these last days as he gets ready to pour out his spirit upon all flesh. We have to take advantage of this great revival that God is given us.

This time for each of us to seek first the kingdom and live Jesus so we will be able to give Jesus.

  15. And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together: And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord : and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites: And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord .
    Numbers 8:9‭-‬11 KJV

When God gives you a job, he makes it official.

  16. “Moses, Aaron, and the entire community of the People of Israel carried out these procedures with the Levites, just as GOD had commanded Moses. The Levites purified themselves and scrubbed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a Wave-Offering before GOD and made atonement for them to purify them. Only then did the Levites go to work at the Tent of Meeting. Aaron and his sons supervised them following the directions GOD had given.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭8:20-22‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Before the Levite’s could ever even enter into the tabernacle they had to be purified.

We as leaders shouldn’t wait till we get to the house of God to be purified. We are there to serve the Kingdom so we should repent and prepare ourselves before we ever even enter into the house of God.

  17. 8:1-4 msg God spoke to Moses: “ Tell Aaron, install the seven lamps so they will throw light in front of the lamp stand.
Aaron did that. He installed the lamps so they threw light I. Front of the lamp stand as God told Moses.
The lamp stand was made of hammered gold from its stem to its petals. It was precisely to the design God had shown Moses.
    —————-_——
All right. So they ought to shine, to light up toward the front.
The front. God is our light. And He is always lighting up our path that leads us to go forward .
But I do t know what to do, I can’t decide and so on….
Read the word. Which is the light then we will see, then we will comprehend……..
Something else.: if it matters to God, it should matter to us.
Everything matters !!!! All the work they did was precisely just as God and expected it to be.
God was pleased. That makes me think about POFW
The sanctuary, the vision, all the hard work and look at it now. Even Pastor Watts used the same word : Precisely.
    So yes, it does matter.

  18. 19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

God has designed there to be help with the duties of the priesthood, from setting up and taking down, from ministering and offerings & performing every duty of the Tabernacle. If you serve in any capacity at the church you are a gift from God to assist Pastor and Sis Watts in reaching our city. I bless you in the name of Jesus as you labor for THE Kingdom. We live and give Jesus.

  19. iLove Jesus
The Lord is basically saying, “Hey y’all, all the first born belong to me. But you know what I’m gonna do? I’m going to let you fellers make a substitute. Gimme the whole tribe of Levi in place of all the first born.” This is why the sacrifice of Jesus is so important as well. He took our place when we should have died for sin. Thank you Jesus

  20. 17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

The last plague God hit Egypt with was the death of the firstborn child. When the Egyptians would not obey him our God took his vengeance. We can give what he is asking for the easy way or the hard way. For instance if we do not praise him then the rocks may cry out. It’s the “If’ and “Then” method. Our parents taught us this early on. “If” we behaved and did as we were told “Then” we could go and play. Every action has a consequence. “If” we give our first fruits “then” God will rebuke the devourer. He set apart the Levites to make up the clan that serves him and the people. We are to be set apart also. Meaning we are not like this world and the nations thereof, instead we live for Jesus and give from the talents he has blessed us with.

  21. But never stop

[21] And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the Lord ; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

[26] But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

  22. Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

As a bull is sacrificed the children of Israel laid their hands on the Levite’s to bless them and pray for their dedication before the Lord. So by the Levite’s laying their hands on the head of the bulls this was a symbol of sacrifice of themselves to the Lord and to the service of the sanctuary, so now they are both outwardly cleansed and inwardly cleansed and ready for service. This chapter as I understood shows that the promised land people must be cleansed, dedicated and doing the work. So must we be also cleansed, dedicated, and doing His work as He has commanded us to do.

  23. God spoke to Moses: “Tell Aaron, Install the seven lamps so they will throw light in front of the Lampstand.”
Aaron did just that. He installed the lamps so they threw light in front of the Lampstand, as God had instructed Moses. The Lampstand was made of hammered gold from its stem to its petals. It was made precisely to the design God had shown Moses.

  24. 2 Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

7 lamps, 7 days in the week, a light for each day, so you do not forget to let His light shine everyday of the week. Not only in Wednesday’s and Sunday’s but everyday!!! Let His Joy be so strong that everywhere you go you can be a beacon to the lost!!!! Thank you Jesus for being the Light of the world!!! Help us live JESUS so we can give JESUS!!

  25. MSG 15-19 “After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a Wave-Offering to God, they can go to work in the Tent of Meeting. The Levites have been selected out of the People of Israel for my exclusive use; they function in place of every firstborn male born to an Israelite woman. Every firstborn male in Israel, animal or human, is set apart for my use. When I struck down all the firstborn of Egypt, I consecrated them for my holy uses. But now I take the Levites as stand-ins in place of every firstborn son in Israel, selected out of the People of Israel, and I have given the Levites to Aaron and his sons to do all the work involved in the Tent of Meeting on behalf of all the People of Israel and to make atonement for them so that nothing bad will happen to them when they approach the Sanctuary.”

Again we find expectations necessary to approach the Sanctuary. They had to be purified to ensure that nothing happened to them when they came to do their work at the tabernacle. Everything about God is Holy – set apart, separate from the world. So many times we come in with so many cares of live that we just go through the “routine” of being at church. Going through the motions does not accomplish anything. It shows God that we do not value our time in the Sanctuary and we get nothing out of spending time in His presence with the corporate body of believers.

We must change how we come to His presence. We must place our full attention upon Him and ensure that our heart and mind is clear from distractions, and most importantly keep our spirit right, otherwise we will not be able to connect with HIS Spirit and accomplish what He desire to do each time.

  26. “Then after that the Levites went in to perform their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron and his sons; just as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭8:22‬ ‭AMP‬‬

All is this came to pass because the Lord spoke to one man, Moses. The great leadership that Moses displayed is clear communication. He must have paid attention to every detail and then communicated that to the people. I’m thankful for great leadership over my life.

  27. So, Moses is inside the tabernacle and God explains to him exactly how Aaron needs to set up the lamps in the tabernacle.
As usual, God is pretty specific about the design and number of these lamps. The Big Guy really has an eye for detail.
God also tells Moses to perform a purification ritual on all the Levite males so that they will be fit for service to the tabernacle.
Naturally, the ritual involves a bath and a full body shave. Because cleanliness is next to… well, you know.
Next, the whole community is told to gather around the Levites and lay their hands on them. Again, this is because God wanted these guys to stand in for everyone. No firstborn sons of Israel needed to worry about a lifetime of religious service. The Levites would do it for them.
This also has a practical purpose—it will protect the people from the plagues that God will rain down on them if they all started bumbling around the tabernacle. Honestly, it’s probably best they don’t go near the thing. Leave this to the professionals, Israelites.
Once the Levites are all cleansed and ready to go, God gives them to Aaron’s sons so that they can assist the priests with all kinds of fancy tabernacle duties.
But there are some restrictions—only men twenty-five to fifty years old can serve the tabernacle. At fifty, every Levite is required to throw himself a crazy retirement party. (Okay, not really, but he does have to hang up his holy hat.)
Naturally, this is all done exactly as God commands. Another point for the Israelites!

  28. Numbers 8:2-3 (NLT)
    2) Give Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward in front of the lampstand.
    3) So Aaron did this. He set up the seven lamps so they reflected their light forward, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

Because there were no windows in the Tabernacle, it was dark in there. The purpose of the seven lamps in the lampstand was to shine forth light in the darkness.
JESUS said in St. Matt. 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world…” and in St. Matt. 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men,…”
We live in a dark world full of sin and wickedness. When we Live JESUS, we become the light of the world, and we can shine forth the light into the darkness of people’s lives and Give JESUS to them.

    Live JESUS Give JESUS!

  29. 20 And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

  30. In this chapter we see how there was a process and procedure of how the Levites were to be purified for doing God’s work and/or approaching the Sanctuary. We too must make sure we are prepared by repenting and having our hearts/minds focused on Him. God sees our motives and how we are approaching the opportunities we are presented.

    Psalm 51:7-15 MSG says:

Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean,
scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
set these once-broken bones to dancing.
Don’t look too close for blemishes,
give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don’t throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways
so the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God,
and I’ll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
    Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I’ll let loose with your praise.

  31. LIVE-GIVE JESUS
    KEEP THE LIGHT ON

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses.

This Old Testament command confirms the New Testament principal. We are the LIGHT of the World.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

To LIVE JESUS means to follow JESUS in purpose, passion and prospect. When we LIVE JESUS we reflect HIM and not us. We find a repeated 2 fold purpose to LIVE JESUS.

    1. For the benefits and blessings of HIS Kingdom now and eternally.
    2. To be HIS ambassadors, HIS body, HIS example.

Naturally when we LIVE JESUS others will see HIM in us and that fact makes us a LIGHT in fact HIS LIGHT to the world. Therefore we GIVE JESUS to the world in the form of HIS LIGHT.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The Lamps were prophetic in the Temple. The Lamps were LIGHT to the LIGHT. Which we are.

    The Lights

1-2 God spoke to Moses: “Tell Aaron, Install the seven lamps so they will throw light in front of the Lampstand.”
3-4 Aaron did just that. He installed the lamps so they threw light in front of the Lampstand, as God had instructed Moses. The Lampstand was made of hammered gold from its stem to its petals. It was made precisely to the design God had shown Moses. MSG

  33. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses.
    Numbers 8:1-3

The lampstand was described and made in Exodus 25:31-40, but the lampstand by itself could give no light. It had to have lamps placed upon it that gave light. All the lampstand could do was make the light more visible.
The lamps were fueled by oil and would need to be continually filled with oil to provide constant light.
Revelation 1:20 makes lampstands a picture of the church, the church itself does not light the world, but it does provide a “platform” for Jesus’ light to be seen.

“The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.”
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  34. 26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

  35. God’s plans for our life are wonderful.
    Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
God’s wonderful plan for our life is that we repent, believe in him, and fight sin through his power

  36. Because the pharaohs heart was hardened he broke his promise and God sent more plagues which got worse and worse as they kept coming one by one.

  37. 7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

It is the waters of baptism in Jesus name that cleanses us from our sin. It washes away all our past sins. Thanks be to Jesus that made a way for us to be clean and have access to the throne

  38. For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

I’m thankful for sanctification! Holiness was right in the Old Testament, new testimony, and today. God set us apart from the world for Himself. Not our own desires and actions but for himself.

  39. 3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses.

4 And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the Lord had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

    (2) Key points that caught my attention verse 3-4 God referenced the candlestick (Menorah), he ordered that it be formed in a certain way there was a purpose for this. We also noticed that the candlestick was to face forward in the tent by way of instruction of God, when you look into this it contains a purpose according to scripture. And again it’s very interesting as to how God has a very exact detail for all that he does. But what was the purpose of the Menorah / candlestick facing face forward, I find that due to the shape of the candlestick (Menorah) it allowed the light to be directed more one way then did the other.

The actual purpose of this was so that the light would shine upon the table of showbread on the opposite wall of the tent.

The Menorah is symbolic of the light of God, the table of showbread with it’s 12 loaves is symbolic to the 12 tribes of Israel. The cause for all of this is that God was instructing them that they were to only operate under his light and presence.

To conclude, it is worthy to note that we have a great God that Is watching all details and considers his people and watches over them on a constant. Grateful to serve a mighty God.

  40. Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

  41. “And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together: And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭8:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The whole group of people were together and they put their hand a upon their heads. Blessings and prayer are things that are done like this. Everyone was there are all of the children of Israel were able to participate.

  42. “Aaron is to present the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the Lord.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just as the priest came before God as a wave offering, we too should come before God as an offering and prepare to do his work.
