Numbers 10

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.

18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

21 And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.

22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

25 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

  1. Verses 31-32 MSG “Moses countered, “Don’t leave us. You know all the best places to camp in the wilderness. We need your eyes. If you come with us, we’ll make sure that you share in all the good things God will do for us.” These verses stuck out to me as we all have a very important part in this journey and we need all eyes on deck. Some may feel “oh they don’t need the little I can offer”; but, in reality we can’t do it without you. At the command of the Lord, we (POFW) must march on together and in unity to reach this city. I come with a very thankful heart this morning, giving all honor and glory to my God. Thank you Jesus for loving me, thank you for my beautiful family, thank you for the awesome leaders that you have placed in my life, and for an awesome church that continues to preach truth.

  2. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

God promised of we will keep His commandments He will fight our battles! Only through Him are we overcomers!

“We’ve been made more than conquerors
    Overcomers in the this life
    We’ve been made victorious
By the blood of Jesus Christ “

  3. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

Let us never forget as long as God is guiding us and we’re following what he’s telling us to do when we are he wants us to go that there is no demon in hell that can hurt us. We have much more enjoy taking than what we believe we have the God of this universe right beside us right in front of us and right behind us. When the spirit of the Lord is with you, you have nothing to fear.

  4. 💛 We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you:

[7] But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

[9] And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10] Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

[35] And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord , and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

  5. 3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

He gather His congregation with a sound of a trumpet. Our Lord will be coming soon!!! Are you ready?? He has always gather all His people with a sound of the trumpet. Have you ever gone to listen to a band if they have a trumpet that sound is so strong that will leave all the other sounds behind. There was a saying that my father used to tell me: “la verdad como el sonido de la trompeta siempre suena más alto” – “The truth like the sound of a trumpet will always sound stronger” (it means that the truth will always surface) JESUS is the TRUTH, THE ONLY TRUTH!!! Are you ready to hear the trumpets?

  6. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

As the Lord commanded when the trumpets were to be blown they were to assemble at the door of the tabernacle. This was the line of communication for the large congregation and Moses. We are standing at the ready for God to blow the trumpet to call his church away. We are looking at for Him to step out on the cloud and Gabriel is going to blow the trumpet. In a moment and in a twinkling of an eye we will be called up to meet him in the air forever to be with him.

We have to be prepared for that sound. Seeking first the kingdom and all his righteousness to live Jesus and giving Jesus while we have time to show his love for others.

  7. Numbers 10
9 “When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”

It may look like I’m surrounded
    But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
    But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
    But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
    But I’m surrounded by You

    Alarm and Peace
    God has this battle .
I believe our praises will be just that . We must keep the praises going up to ward off the enemy and they will be remembered by God . The trumpets were a signal that it is time to gather together. Bringing unity within the camp. We cannot allow anything to separate us from God. He is with us and He will fight our battles. Revelations speaks of the last trumpet soon it will blow and gather all Gods people . It’s time to be mindful of coming together . The trumpet was blown also in the Peace Offering. Again today people use this word peace offering. A sacrifice of ones self leaving behind everything could this be Live Give Jesus…..sounds the trumpets it’s time to gather together. I give You thanks Lord there may be a slight concern of alarm but You are right in the midst of every alarm bringing Peace . Live Give Jesus

    I Thessalonians 4:16

    King James Version
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

    Joel 2:1

Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near,

  8. 10 Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month. And blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. The trumpets will remind your God of his covenant with you. I am the LORD your God.

In other words, give praise at all times. Blow you horn, shout and praise whether it during a trial or blessing. The sound of the trumpet is used through the bible to signify many things, the start or end of something. But we too should raise our voice when we give praise to God.

Isaiah 58:1“Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid

  9. Numbers 10:9, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”

Isaiah 58:1 says, “CRY aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet,…”

All I could think about when I read this scripture is Pastor saying, “WAR CRY!” and the congregation giving a SHOUT.
When we give a “WAR CRY,” it is like lifting up our voices like a trumpet and blowing an alarm to God. When He hears us, He will remember us, and save us from our enemies.

    WAR CRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

First things first – praise. Send up a praise and God will come fight for you!

  11. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

As we go forward each day, we need the Lord to go before us, whether we drive in traffic to our jobs or begin our day at home, we need him to prepare the way first.

  12. And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

  13. 10:31 and he said, leave us not I pray thee, for as much as thou knowest , how we are to encamp in the wilderness and thou Mayest be to us instead of eyes.
    ————
I believe this family obtained Salvation. Yet , this man was a blessing to the Israelites, he was a big help to Moses, yet they got blessed and much more…….
    God has everything under control.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!😃

  14. “And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭10:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What a great way to do things.
Do unto others the way the Lord does unto you.
Talk about living Jesus you could use this right here.
God loves everyone of us so why not love those around you. I know some are more difficult to tolerate but really image how many times you’ve acted up and no one wanted to be around you. Let’s treat each other with respect and show the Love of Christ today. We can even share what Jesus did for us and that alone will minister to someone in need today.

  15.  And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

Moses would say this blessing to start and stop the process. To understand, let’s remember the purpose of this prayer. It is not just for God to act, but also for us to get our will in line with His will. Since we don’t know what is His will, it is acceptable to ask for His will to also be our will.
I believe Moses gave this prayer to inspire the confidence amongst the Israelites that God will lead them to victory if they trust Him to lead them.
God wants His people to make a difference in life for Him,and guide us through our own wilderness times. During these times of guidance it is very helpful for our leaders to give a blessing to remind us that God is there and there is a purpose for us making a difference for Him.

  16. 29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Moses knew how important it was to understand that God has a plan for everyone, if we are just willing to go, to the land that he has already given us. We need to believe, that He will walk with us at all time. Happy Thanksgiving!

  17. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

We must ensure that every decision we make, the hand of the Lord is in it. We can only know that by searching out and seeking His will for that decision. Hasty decisions, without inquriing of the Lord could be disastrous.

We have various examples in the Word of God where people inquired of the Lord and waited for an answer prior to pursuing a matter. Any major thing of importance can wait until we get a response from the Lord before pursuing, if it can’t wait, we don’t need it.

  18. “Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭10:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This reminded me of the last trumpet that would sound when we leave this world. The trumpets were used to communicate to the people. And in the last day is will be used to call us home.

  19. This ordinance of blowing the trumpet is not over y’all. There is a day coming when the angels of the Lord will start blowing the trumpets. At the last trump (7th) trumpet, the rapture will happen and we will be gathered unto Him. Let’s get ready!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING

8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

This verse reminds me today that life is filled with days of good news and bad news, victories and defeats, accomplishments and challenges. But, in all days I should Give Thanks.

To GIVE Thanks, I must LIVE Thanks. Thanksgiving is a lifestyle not a Holiday. Let it be said that we Give what we LIVE JESUS = Thanks.

The instruction of the LORD was to Blow the Trumpets on all occasions and in any situation and HE will answer.

    GNT
8 The trumpets are to be blown by Aaron’s sons, the priests.

“The following rule is to be observed for all time to come. 9 When you are at war in your land, defending yourselves against an enemy who has attacked you, sound the signal for battle on these trumpets. I, the Lord your God, will help you and save you from your enemies. 10 Also on joyful occasions—at your New Moon Festivals and your other religious festivals—you are to blow the trumpets when you present your burnt offerings and your fellowship offerings. Then I will help you. I am the Lord your God.”

On this day of focused Thanks, be sure to Raise a Hallalujah!

Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psalms 105:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

“When you arrive in your own land and go to war against your enemies who attack you, sound the alarm with the trumpets. Then the Lord your God will remember you and rescue you from your enemies. Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month. And blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. 11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

  23. But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go. I must return to my own land and family.” “Please don’t leave us,” Moses pleaded. “You know the places in the wilderness where we should camp. Come, be our guide. If you do, we’ll share with you all the blessings the Lord gives us.” They marched for three days after leaving the mountain of the Lord , with the Ark of the Lord ’s Covenant moving ahead of them to show them where to stop and rest.

  24. Numbers 10

    Blow, Israel, Blow
Again, we’re still in this flashback to events that happened one month ago. Don’t worry. It’s almost over.
God tells Moses to make two silver trumpets. Moses, who’s obviously really good with his hands, does this right away.
Moses is to use these trumpets as a way to signal all kinds of different things to the community. Blow both to summon everyone to the tabernacle. Blow just one to call just the leaders in the community. Sound an alarm to tell everyone it’s time to leave camp. Or when you go to war. Or when there’s some kind of celebration.
Whew. Did you get all that? We bet the ancient Israelites felt a bit like Maria on her first day of work with the Von Trapp family.
Basically, all this horn blowing is supposed to alert God that something major is going on. It’s sort of his bat signal.
    Let’s Hit The Road
    Time for a road trip!
Finally, after all the plans and preparations (and really long flashbacks to stuff we sort of already covered in Exodus), the Israelites are ready to set out for the Promised Land. Got your bags packed, everyone?
When everyone sees the cloud lift off the tabernacle they know that’s their signal to head out. Eventually, the cloud lands somewhere in the Wilderness of Paran. That does not sound like a cozy resting place.
But because they planned so nicely, everyone sets out in the same detailed and orderly fashion that God has previously laid out. First the tribes to the east, then the ones to the south… and so on, until everyone is on the road. Planning really is the key to a successful trip.
We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Maps
Moses approaches a guy named Hobab and explains where they’re going. To the land flowing with milk and honey—woo-hoo!
But Hobab is less thrilled. He knows that this journey is gonna be no fun and he’s actually been thinking about heading back to Egypt. What?
Moses says they’re gonna miss him when he’s gone. For real. After all, Hobab knows the wilderness pretty well, so he’ll be able to help the Israelites figure out where to camp. Sure, the cloud is helping, but a little human guidance would be good, too.
When Moses mentions that God is sure to bless him for his trouble, Hobab decides to stay and give it a go.
So, Hobab is great, but the cloud is still leading the way. The community keeps travelling around with the Lord in their midst helping to make sure they don’t take a wrong turn anywhere.
Basically, so far so good. Walley World, here we come!

  25. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
    Leviticus 10:34

As they begin the journey to the Promised Land, they were guided by God’s presence and not by themselves. They followed the cloud no matter where God led them. If they were to camp in a rough place, they did it. If they were told to go on from a comfortable place, they did it. They allowed themselves to be guided by God, not by their own desire for comfort and ease.

  26. “As they moved on each day, the cloud of the Lord hovered over them. And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!””(‭‭Numbers‬ ‭10:34-35‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

This verse can remind us to keep pressing forward every day. We need to focus our eyes on the Lord and trust in the Holy Spirit knowing he’s with us everywhere we go. The ark of the covenant contains the things we need to remember. The Ten Commandments were inside it so it wasn’t like our Bibles today we can open any time we want. They simply needed to know it and live it. We may not have our Bibles forever either. This is why me must consume this Word so that it becomes apart of us and not just something we read.

  27. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
If God is for us who can be against us! The Lord used Moses to give the Israelites faith and confidence. That at the sound of the trumpets 🎺 victory is given for the Lord fights our battles. No matter how big or small your battle is the Lord has control over it! Don’t fear for He is with us!

  28. 2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

  31. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

God will cause those that go against his people to scatter. They do not stand a chance against the all mighty God. When we put our trust in God, we can do great things. Our source of power is unlimited and what we need God’s got ot.

  32. God spoke to Moses: “Make two bugles of hammered silver. Use them to call the congregation together and give marching orders to the camps. When you blow them, the whole community will meet you at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

In this chapter we can see the expression that it demonstrates in writing. The interesting part of this is that we can clearly see how the Ark of the Covenant served as a military function for Israel. IT served as a guide, a protector, and it served as a sign of God’s presence in their midst. What the Ark meant to the people of Israel, and what it mean to their enemies is rather well demonstrated in 1 Samuel chapter 4. When the Philistines learned that the Ark of the Covenant came into the camp they were afraid and spoke saying “Woe unto us, who shall deliver us out of the hand of this mighty God?”

It is quite interesting how the Ark was symbolic, and also in actuality was the presence of God in their absolute midst. The purpose of the Ark was to demonstrate to the enemy that they came not within their own force or strength rather they came in preparation with a superior force that has never been defeated. The symbol of this Ark served warning to the enemy that a greater force was with these people. While the Philistines carried banners and images that represented their gods when they came to war, upon noticing the Ark they immediately know they did not stand a chance. IT was a fear that overtook them as they asked ” who can deliver us from this great God?”

This makes me realize how we as the body of Christ are a great force when go to warfare, while the presence of God dwelled in the Ark of the Covenant, now we have his spirit on the inside of us that is enough to cause the enemy to fear. To coward out and to back down is to bring shame to the name of the Lord after his power is so invested into us. We should not back down with fear, because what’s on the inside of us is the actual spirit of God that is our guide, protector and strength.

IT does not matter what we are confronted with, or what is taunting us, the glory of God is housed on the inside and as the scripture said we are more than conquerors.

What a mighty God, we are a blessed people!

  36. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

When you put God first, God puts you first!

Moses knew to not do anything without Gods permission. His assurance was not in his leadership ability or I. The strength of Israel. His confidence was set of Gods word!

Every chapter, every step they took and every thing they did was because “God spoke”. Today, God has left us his spoken infallible Word for us to live and apply.
