Numbers 12

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed.

10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother’s womb.

13 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

  1. Numbers 12:3
[3](Now Moses was very humble—more humble than any other person on earth.)
Humility and submission go hand in hand.  God’s Word tells us that, as Christians, we are to submit to one another in lowliness of mind. “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’” 1 Peter 5:5-6.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you… Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:6-8, 10. God works according to laws. It is a natural law that if we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand, surrendering our own will and honor, then He will give us the grace that we need to live a Christian life in truth, as well as exalt us in His time.
To be humble is to have the same mindset as Jesus Christ.
esus is the ultimate example of humility. He did not value His own self-importance or honor, but freely gave it up in every situation so that God’s will could be carried out and God could be glorified through His life.

  2. Numbers 12

1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

Never speak ANYTHING ILL about your Pastor or his wife. If you see something wrong make an appointment and go directly to him. I know that at least mine is an open book, he will answer truthfully to any questions you may have!!! The consequences of speaking against the man of God or his family are of terrible. God will not let it slip by!!! He will make sure you pay for it. Sooner or later. So be kind, be humble, and love, pray with all your heart, and if you hear anyone speaking wrongly against them defend them, to stand by doing nothing is participating in that sin!! Love my Pastor and our First Lady!!!

  3. Racial Prejudice Numbers 12:1-10

9.And the anger of the Lord was kindledagainst them; and he departed. ,10. And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

God is the creator of all human beings of every racial type. All are equal in His sight , and we should show respect for one another as members of the human family each created in God’s image. God is “no respecter of persons” .

Acts 10:34,35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

It’s best not to judge any race but love them all.

  4. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

There some very foolish people that hide themselves within a congregation and they are there to do nothing but speak against the man of God. I have seen many people try to divide what God has set apart from the world. They would bite into the man of God when they disagreed with him. Sometimes when we see things as the man of God sees it, then we should not cast judgement upon them. All we have to do is seek the face of God and ask to feel just a little of the burden that he feels.

The scripture states to not touch the anointed of God. That is to include not to speak evil of them either. Only God will set everything in order when the man of God messes up. We have to show humility toward the man of God and support him even when we don’t agree 100% of the time. That’s when we should be seeking first the kingdom of God that we may not end up like Miriam.

    Live Jesus to give Jesus.

  5. 2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

It is very dangerous when we start saying things like this. We need a man of God over us who God can speak to about our lives. When we get into a place where we think we don’t need a man of God or that I can do it we become lost. A lamb without a shepherd. Lost and unprotected.
I thank God for the pastor in my life that will guide and lead me to Jesus

  6. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

God knows whom he chooses and annoyance for certain jobs. It is not dependent upon their talent nor how well they’re able to do the job. Sometimes It is because of their faithfulness and their walk with God but mainly it is because God just chose them. In our carnal ways of thinking, we can easily fall into who is more suited for the position based upon their talent but God goes a different route and instead of calling the qualified, he qualifies the called. We must be very careful in our mindset with how we talk about ministry of others. These are times when it is vital to just trust that God knows what he’s doing and knows why he called them. If we are faithful to what we have been called to do then God can call us to do more.

  7. Psalms 105:15
    International Version
“Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.

Honoring the man of God is honoring God. God knows and sees all. He may be the only life line to your children one day if they hear you at the dinner table picking apart every sermon where will they turn for help in their moment of crisis .
I recall a woman who grumbled complained about many things in the church until one day she became a pastor’s wife. She called me several years later apologizing for now she was inside the fish bowl of ministry. She was sorry she had ever spoken one word of ill because now she understood. We may not always agree but we are not the one answering to God for the souls of many . Lift your pastor up in prayer.
“I will give you shepherds according to My heart.” Jer 3:15 NKJV

  8. Verse 3 AMP “([c]Now the man Moses was very humble (gentle, kind, devoid of self-righteousness), more than any man who was on the face of the earth.). Verses 7-8 AMP “But it is not so with My servant Moses; He is entrusted and faithful in all My house. “With him I speak mouth to mouth [directly], Clearly and openly and not in riddles; And he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?” What an amazing relationship Moses had with God. God’s anger was kindled when Aaron and Miriam disrespected and spoke against the man of God and he surely called them out on it. A lot of times, you may think your getting away with speaking lies, negativity or doing things in secret (so you think); but, God sees/hears it.

Romans 13:1-2 NLT says “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.

  9. So Miriam was kept outside the camp for seven days, and the people waited until she was brought back before they traveled again.
    Numbers 12:15 NLT

Some may see punishment but I see Mercy. The Bible is very clear on speaking against the man of God. She was struck with leprosy and that could have been with her until it killed her, but God just wanted to get her attention and let her know that she cannot conduct herself like that. Also with being the worship leader he had a set an example with her because so many people watched and followed her.

  10. 12:2 And the said: Hath the Lord in deed only spoken by Moses? Hath he not also spoken by us? And the Lord heard it.

Hebrews 10:31 says. It’s a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Good sees,God hears and God knows. Come on !! We are suppose to be mature , let’s leave those child things behind
, grow in the Lord, and seek him for who he is, and quit worrying or being jealous of other people.
    Love God
    Obey his word
    Seek God
Be filled with the Holy Ghost .

    SPEAKING AGAINST LEADERSHIP

8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

The root of this sin is pride. This is one of the oldest spirits to tempt the church. A word spoken against a true man of GOD is offensive to JESUS. The real pain and revelation came when the offenders who didn’t relize the value of their Leader to GOD.

This spirit of pride arises in the same manner always.

    EQUALITY

2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

Because they didn’t agree with a choice of Leadership; all of the sudden they must be equal to Leadership or maybe the closeness of relationship and convenience of family generated this charge.

We are in dangerous territory when these thoughts of EQUALITY arise. We will not always agree with the decisions of Leadership, but we must always speak for Leadership. We witness here the pain and peril of speaking against Leadership.

Pray for Leadership. Pray for them especially when you disagree with their choices. The pain and peril of leprocy and separation from worship is definitely worse than the poor choice of a GOD chosen Leader.

  12. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

Her disobedience held up everyone else. They could not move forward until she was made whole. Our decisions, our actions, our words, effect more than just us. With great revival so many times being prophesied over us, we must insure all that we do aligns with His Word so we do not hold up what God wants to do. Forgive us Lord and prepare us for the harvest!

  13. “But the LORD said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not bear her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up outside the camp for seven days, and afterward she may return.” So Miriam was shut up outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until Miriam was brought in again [and declared ceremonially clean from her leprosy].”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭12:14-15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

After God’s judgment was sent out on Miriam and Aaron for speaking against the man of God, Moses. Moses still interceded on there behave. This shows the importance of the man of God in our lives. And also shows that was is spoken behind closed doors and to family needs to be pleasing to God.

  14. iLove Jesus
I don’t have the answer, but what I wonder is why does Aaron always get out of judgement. Even when he built the golden calf he got out of judgement. This should serve us notice, just because we escape judgement when those around us are punished don’t make us ok

  15. Numbers 12:1-2 & 8
    1) AND Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
    2) And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.

    8) With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore than were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

There are going to be times when we may not always agree on what Pastor says or does, BUT we must remember, Pastor is our Leader and the Authority God has placed over us (and God is always listening). We must reverence him and show him respect and encourage him and pray for him.

Thank You JESUS for Pastor & Sis. Watts!

My wife asked me this morning…why did Mariam get the leprosy. So I went snorkeling, this is what I found. Before I went in depth I read the chapter again and said hmm, not only was Miriam speaking against the man of God but she was also gossiping. It was the fact she didn’t confront moses herself. Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It was a spiritual problem not so much a physical problem. That’s when I began to get my gear on and dive in.

There is a biblical connection between skin diseases and evil speech. In the Bible, a skin disease can be a result of some form of gossip or slander. That is because the skin disease does not come from physical contamination, but from spiritual contamination. That is why the priest needed to take a look at it. To discern if it was one of the skin diseases that had a spiritual cause. The spiritual condition of a person’s heart would bring about a physical manifestation of a skin disease.

Jesus referred to what makes a person unclean when he said this:

“…what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person.” – Matthew 5:18-20

The leprosy was the outward appearance of her heart!

  17. AMP – Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.

We notice that Aaron is the same brother whom the Lord spoke to with Moses numerous times, and Miriam is the same sister who led the people worship with her tambourine. Yet they rose up against their own flesh and blood, murmuring and complaining.

Yet I don’t read where Moses ever opened his mouth against them, but God took up the matter because it displeased him that they would speak against Moses.

Many times people, including our own flesh and blood don’t understand our commitment to God and our lifestyle, seeking the Kingdom first, yet if we will do what God is calling is us to, God will fight our battles for us, and we will never have to defend ourselves.

  18. Numbers 12 : 6:7 [Amp] And He My word’s: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make Myself known to him in a vision and speak to him in a vision and speak to him in a dream.
[7] But not so with My servant Moses; he is entrusted and faithful in all My house.
Here it shows that Moses was faithful in God’s House. God is very important in our lives and we need Jesus guide us daily. Without faith how can we please Him ! When you become his child you have purpose and a vision from our Great God. God see’s and hears and watches us. What a mighty we serve. Forgive us Lord , we want to please you!

  19. do not judge others that are not supposed to be judged, if they are a politician or a priest, because they are at the authority high enough to punish you. the same thing happened to Miriam, because she spoke against the man chosen by god and was punished.

  20. And the Lord said to them, “Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord , would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.
    Numbers 12:6 NLT

    In Jesus name

  21. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out

We see here that Moses and his wife were criticized. Even in our lives today alot of criticism comes against pastor’s and their wives and many in ministry. God used Miriam and Aaron as an example, Miriam was consumed with a deadly disease that still exists today. God allowed Miriam to live with the outward display of her inward heart.
This disease of cristicism, bad talk can become so corrupt in our lives that it can cause our spiritual body to reflect what’s truly in our hearts. (Mathew 15:19)
When leaders are falsely accused the right thing to do is take to God in prayer and ignore it and leave it up to God, and just keep busy with what the LORD has called us to do.

  22. This chapter reminds me of the scriptures in Ps 105:15 and 1 Chron 16:22 that tell us not to touch God’s anointed. This means in actions and words. Men and women of God are chosen to do many aspects of ministry, especially the pastor who us our shepherd. Don’t criticize them as they follow the leading of the Lord.

  23. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

    Miriam slowed everything down 🤦🏽‍♀️

  24. Book of Numbers Chapter 12

    Time For Some Sibling Rivalry
Moses’s sister, Miriam, and his brother, Aaron, get a little jealous that God always seems to be chatting it up with Moses. Plus, Moses married a Midianite woman, so everyone knows he’s not the cat’s pajamas.
But God knows that Moses is humbler and more awesome than anyone, so he calls Miriam and Aaron into the tabernacle for a pow-wow.
God appears in front of the tabernacle as a pillar of cloud. He explains that he usually communicates with humans through dreams and visions and all that good stuff. But with Moses, the two of them just talk face to face. Miriam and Aaron know this, right? So, why are they bad-mouthing Moses?
God is ticked, so when they leave Miriam gets struck with a creepy skin disease. Aaron freaks out and begs Moses not to punish them for being so stupid or worse… kill them.
Moses asks God to heal Miriam, but he tells Moses that they should just throw her out of camp for seven days so she can be ashamed in peace. Afterwards, everything will be copacetic.
So, they toss Miriam to the curb for a week. Luckily, the people wait for her before moving onto their next stop. Otherwise, that would be quite a punishment.
    BACK

  25. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

Everything was put on hold because of ONE person. Don’t be that one person who holds everything back.

  26. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

If you look close enough to any man of God you will find faults. But this has nothing to do with wether or not God speaks to him. Every man of God is just a man, but he is also NOT just a man, he is a MAN OF GOD which means he is GODS man with the plan. You cannot look at the man you have to look at the position that God has placed him in. I respect our man of God because he lives what he preaches and that makes it easier to follow but if he didnt live what he preached it wouldn’t make the preaching or the word wrong. It is our job to rightly divide the word of truth but not to divide the man with the truth. Let us stand behind our man of God and the ministry of the church and see what God would do with a completely unified body!

  27. 10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

Leprosy was a disease of bodily decay and corruption; it was considered to be a “walking death” – and Miriam had a seriously advanced case of leprosy instantly. At this moment, God caused her body to reflect her heart.

  28. Numbers chapter 12
1 Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian women whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
15 And Miriam was shut off from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
Aaron was wrong whom he married and was taking it out on Moses. You never gossip, speak poorly of our brothers and sisters in Christ. I think Aaron was fortunate that God didn’t strike down Miriam as God spoke only face to Moses. Moses was the most humble man and very close to God. We should always support Our pastor and never speak negative about him. If you don’t support what Pastor Watts says, he is open to have a conversation with you.

  29. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

And they three came out.

5 And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

9 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed.

10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

God has placed a Shepherd in our life and we are top respect that authority. There will be times when we may not see the danger that he does but his job is to keep us safe with the other flock. When step outside of the Shepherd’s voice, we place our lives in great danger, spiritually and physically too!

  30. 2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

5 And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

When Moses was to shy to speak up for himself, God spoke up for him and called Miriam and Aaron out.

  31. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

    Treading on dangerous ground

It’s easy to criticize when the weight of the responsibility isn’t over your shoulders. People point fingers and same something to the same effect as Aaron and Miriam, “I could have don’t that better!”

If you are any bit of sensitive in the HG, all the spiritual sirens should have gone off and all the red flags should have gone up. If you find yourself on this situation, but your lip, repent and in stead of being critical, PRAY for your leader.

Your observation of a mistake or a different way of going about something might just help your leader if your can check your pride and help.

  32. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

I would imagine that Miriam and Aaron has already said negatives about Moses’s wife in t

  33. The past, but this time they had the gall to be argumentative with him about her.

As human we will not always agree with our leaders, that is where submission comes in, but when we attack the man of God, we allow our thoughts that should have been taken captive, to captivate is, and lead us to a dark place separating us from Jesus.

  34. Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses behind his back because of his Cushite wife (he had married a Cushite woman). They said, “Is it only through Moses that God speaks? Doesn’t he also speak through us?”

    God overheard their talk.

  35. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

Be careful of the choices you make. It cause others not to progress. The people were not able to move forward until Miriam was made whole again. Our actions will affect those around us. The body of Christ works together to accomplish great tasks, but when there is sin in the camp, this puts a halt to progressing.

  36. And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

Speaking against authority or a man and women of good is very dangerous. We have to learn to allow Hod to weigh and judge the actions of others and as we get closer to him. We will learn to see the fruit or lack there of as direct.

  37. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
And they three came out.
5 And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

In this chapter, I learned that Moses was the meekest man in the face of the earth 🌍 Our Lord did justice for him. When Miriam spoke against Moses (leadership) there was a consequence! Illness!! But Moses being the most submissive and humble person he is. He pleaded for Miriam healing and restoration. This shows us the love of Moses as a leader for his people. God heard Moses plead and Miriam was able to return to the camp. Jesus gives us second chances especially when our pastor and leaders pray over us.

  38. 13 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

This was the first word spoken by Moses in this chapter. He had not spoken the entire time he was accused, leaving it up to God to answer his critics.

When a leader perceives accusations are petty, false, or self-motivated, the right thing to do is to ignore them, leave them up to God, and keep busy with what the LORD has called the leader to do.
Even Jesus was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth.

“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  39. 14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

There is still consequences for your actions. It may be that one repents and the man of God goes before the Lord on your behalf yet there is still the consequence for your sin. The Word tells us, be not deceived God cannot be mocked, what you sow that you shall also reap.

  40. “And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭12:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God became so angry that he came down and punished Miriam. It’s like your mom and dad saying, “Don’t make me come back there and get you!” Only God came down and acted instead of giving idle threats. Then everyone knew that God meant business about not talking about the man of God.

  41. 1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
And they three came out.

Several things in this portion stand out. The description of Moses is rather impressive – he is described as “meek”, when you translate this a little further it is indicative of one that is of a poor persuasion, in other words poor in spirit, humble and essentially a soft spoken person. Simply put, one that has no linage or heritage of high status, no name of reputation or hopes of being recognized in a popular state of recognition by the masses.

This pretty much solidifies the notion that God utilizes these types of people to a grand degree. The humble, meek, soft spoken leader is who God spoke in a con-vincible communication that Is recorded in the Bible.

It demonstrates highly in my opinion the preference of individual that God would rather choose for his service, not an arrogant stiff neck, one that praises himself above others, or maintains a certain type of status within any type of setting of which prohibits to be kind and lowly, one that projects a humble spirit to render aid to the hurting, to cast illumination to those that tread about a dark lonely road. A humble servant is what seems to be the preference of God.

It is worthy to note that we must and should be careful what is spoken concerning the man of God in our life, it matters how and what we communicate, what type of communication we speak should be uplifting and encouraging, it should be to build and not cast down, to help and not destroy. We must respect and pray for our leaders, those that watch for soul, those that show concern of our well being, and yes those that take the time to correct you when in error, or when needed.

Most importantly to speak against the man of God, is to speak against the actual voice and command of God in our life.

Lastly, to speak ill of our leaders, I believe will contaminate our vessel that when it comes to worship God our sacrifice of praise or worship will be tainted with cause for a stench, it will not be that of a sweet smelling savor.

  42. 5Then the LORD descended in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle.b “Aaron and Miriam!” he called, and they stepped forward. 6 And the LORD said to them, “Now listen to what I say:

I can only imagine that Aaron and Miriam were both afraid when the Lord ask for and spoke to them. Imagine how fearfull they must have felt. If you are somewhat fearful when your parents would speak to you in an angry tone, how much more with God. But God was parenting, and we have to accept the counseling and discipline from God.
