Numbers 15

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,

And will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the Lord, of the herd or of the flock:

Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the Lord bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil.

And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one lamb.

Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil.

And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the Lord.

And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or peace offerings unto the Lord:

Then shall he bring with a bullock a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half an hin of oil.

10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid.

12 According to the number that ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one according to their number.

13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord; as ye do, so he shall do.

15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord.

16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you,

19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering unto the Lord.

20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.

21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the Lord an heave offering in your generations.

22 And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the Lord hath spoken unto Moses,

23 Even all that the Lord hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the Lord commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;

24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the Lord, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.

25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their ignorance:

26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.

27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the Lord, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31 Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

35 And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.

37 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

I love you Lord and I lift my voice

  1. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

37 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

Lord thank you for getting us out of Egypt and for the reminder that we got nothing to go back to .

    A.l.m.a.s.

  2. Verses 37-41 MSG “God spoke to Moses: “Speak to the People of Israel. Tell them that from now on they are to make tassels on the corners of their garments and to mark each corner tassel with a blue thread. When you look at these tassels you’ll remember and keep all the commandments of God, and not get distracted by everything you feel or see that seduces you into infidelities. The tassels will signal remembrance and observance of all my commandments, to live a holy life to God. I am your God who rescued you from the land of Egypt to be your personal God. Yes, I am God, your God.” Same verses in NIV “The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel. You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord your God.’” This is pretty straight forward and self explanatory. We can either be faithful and do what is right or defile yourself. The choice is yours.

  3. Numbers 15:40-41 [Amp] That you may remember and all My commandments and be holy to your God.
[41] I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am your God.
Jesus I will never forget what you done me! Jesus I will never forget how you brought me out! Jesus forget how you set me free! Jesus I never forget! No never! Halaula Praise God ! Thank you Jesus ☺😃

  4. 38. Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

    39. And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

    40. That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

The fringe was on their garments as a constant reminder of how they should live, and it should be so with us today –
Live and Give JESUS should be woven into the very fabric of our every day life.

  5. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying

Every word in the Bible should be taken as The LORD spake!!! HE SPEAKS EVERYDAY, sometimes multiple times a day. GOD IS REAL!!!

  6. 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God

Remember His Word and let it be kept deep in our hearts. He simply wants relationship, so get to know Him through His word and separate yourself unto Him.

  7. 39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

I never want to forget where I came from or what God has delivered me out of. It’s easy to fall into the routine and become complacent when God has blessed your life so much. It is important that we not forget what we came out of where delivered from regularly so that we don’t become complacent and so comfortable that we stop seeking God and being holy.

  8. What is your blue ribbon?

All of us can say that God has done great, wonderful, and awesome things in our life. But when the next trial or test comes, are we quick to remember what God has done or do we worry about the thing and wonder if God will provide this time?

Psalms 103:2 David said, Praise the Lord, I tell myself, and never forget the good things He does for me. God wants us to pay attention! He is always active in our lives, but we fail to notice. Just like David, make up your mind to remember God’s daily supernatural intervention in your life. Make up your mind to never forget.

  9. Numbers 17

    Ribbons of Blue

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

    Something Blue
Ever wonder why the little rhyme fir what a bride should wear on her wedding day includes something blue?
According to my research blue is a symbol “something blue” represents purity, love, and fidelity.
Could it be that this reminder was passed down from generation to generation from scriptures. O believe so. God wanted to be sure that Israel remembered whom they belonged to.
Israel had left Egypt I am sure they still recalled the corruption that was very much a part of the Egyptians lifestyle. God wanted them to leave every portion of Egypt behind . What more than to sew a ribbon of blue on their garments. I can image a little boy and a little girl asking mom why is there a blue ribbon always sewn into my clothes. Thus a beautiful story of purity would unfold . We the bride of Christ must continue to sew ribbons of blue into our children’s lives. Natural and spiritual children . We must proclaim chastity and keeping our self Holy and acceptable for our Wedding Day ….,the day Jesus calls for His bride to come to Him. Many parents fail to share what the beauty of virginity is for fear of the sex talk . When kids as early as 8 years old are having sex willingly. What a beautiful way to begin talking about what sexual purity is about and spiritual purity explaining the unity and love that is intended for the bride and groom . Sewing ribbons of blue . It’s never too late to begin . Ribbons of blue……,we cannot allow the world to take away the beauty of God’s love

    1 Corinthians 11:1-2
Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.

You’ll know me, God, for who I really am.
Do we truly know the Lover of our soul do we truly teach our children

That we may present ourself Holy acceptable a chaste bride before God .
    Keeping God’s commandments…..

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (2Corinthians 11:2)

  10. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach them with a blue cord. When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God. I am the Lord your God!”
    Numbers 15:37‭-‬41 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/num.15.37-41.NLT

Sometimes we need a visual to remind us where we are at in our own existence. When we just traipse through life we lose vision and focus.
Some times that outward symbol can help bring everything back into the right perspective.

  11. 40That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. 41I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.

The commandments of the God to the children of Israel that was spoken to Moses as they were to enter in the land promised, were not all that stricted but they were precise. The commandment of not working on the sabbath was the most precise of all because God told Moses to put the stick gatherer to death for breaking the commandment. The law was precise from God. They were to keep themselves holy unto the Lord.

Thankfully we are no longer under the law but under grace. That does not mean that we can discard the commandments. We have to keep the word of God, every single word and do what it tells us. We have to continue to seek first the kingdom of God to continue to live Jesus so we can give Jesus. This is the commandment of our generation to go out and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are to reach every soul that we can before the trumpet sounds.

Num 15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

One Law, One Manner, and One God

We see here a picture of making disciples. The Lord had great details in the law that were to be followed by Israel and also those who would want to settle with Israel. I don’t know why it is so hard for other denominations to accept a few “ordinances” of the New Testament Law. In the Old Testament, we see there are multiple laws that everyone had to follow. There was One Law. Today, there are just a few ordinances to follow and yet folks be like, “you aint gotta do all that to be saved.”

Today there is One Law and it is written in the New Testament. We gotta Repent, Be Baptized, and Receive the Holy Ghost in order to get to the One True God. What is so hard to understand?

  13. 27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the Lord, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

I was asked a while back “why when we pray in repentance we ask for forgiveness for sin we done that we didn’t know that it was a sin?” Well, here is the answer, it is biblical!! If back then they offered sacrifices for sins done in ignorance then since Jesus Christ was our Sacrificial Lamb, we must in the same way ask forgiveness for those sins also. On the other hand, those sin done purposely will only take us to DEATH without repentance!! Aren’t you thankful that Jesus Christ took ALL not some but ALL our sins and through baptism washed them completely. Not an atonement that only last a year but remission – completely disappeared!!!! Thank you Jesus for you gave your life willingly so we may have LIFE ETERNALLY!!!!!

  14. 32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

God commanded the execution of this presumptuous sinner, that all might fear. This was so all would know that the social order and law of God are more important than any individual’s “right” to attack or destroy that social order or law of God.

  15. ⚖️

[16] One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

[29] Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

[41] I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

    *2 Corinthians 3:13-18 KJV
[13] And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14] But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15] But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16] Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty. 18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

***Thank you Jesus for The New Testaments

    Acts 1:8 KJV
[8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    Acts 16:26 KJV
[26] And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

    Luke 6:38 KJV
[38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

    WINNING

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

I am reminded of the Blue Ribbons that I won many years ago. Although I do not have possession of them currently, I am still reminded of what they repesent to me.

    WINNING

In several Track Meets and Boxing Tournaments the Prize went as follows:

    Blue Ribbon = 1st Place
    Red Ribbon = 2nd Place
    White Ribbon = 3rd Place

Upon reflection of this today, I would like to suggest a proven process to WINNING in the Kingdom of GOD.

    1. The Blue Ribbon represents the commandments of the LORD.
    2. The Red Ribbon represents the Blood of JESUS.
    3. The White Ribbon represents the Purity of the soul.

If we follow this Ribbon Process in order it will look like this.

    1. Blue Ribbon – I always win when I OBEY the commands of the LORD.
    2. Red Ribbon – If I misstep or neglect a command I have the Blood of JESUS to cover me.
    3. White Ribbon – Finally I am washed and cleansed to be presented before the LORD in White Garments.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

  17. For all of us who want to go to heaven the bible is clear on how to get there. Read it, obey it, never stray from it and you get to go there! THANK YOU JESUS

  18. 30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31 Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

It’s funny that many people don’t see the Man of God speaking as if it were God speaking though him.

Clearly the people that were punished in scripture for despising Gods word and breaking his commandments, were clearly disobeying what Moses (the man of God) has told them.

We can see throughout scripture that God only spoke to Moses. That puts a un calculable burden upon the man of God.

So a quick warning to those that say they can survive without a Man of God in there lives or those that disobey there man of God, when God has spoken through them.

  19. Numbers 15:17:21 ALL belongs to God!

The Old Testament insists that the firstfruits belong to God.
Paul said “For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy “

Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

Proverbs 3:9,10 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barnes be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

  20. 38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

The tassels on their clothes were there as a reminder of who their God is and who they are in Christ.

In that same sense, when we dress modestly, it serves as a constant reminder that we are a child of God and that others can see it too!

We must be sure that our attitude, the way we present ourselves and the way the we will live our lives shines through!

  21. 16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

God wants unity for the nation of Israel and those who are living among them. He expects not only the children of Israel but their guests, servants, and slaves are required to partake in the same commands God gives. Two people cannot walk together lest they agree. Therefore, even strangers need to follow the same direction God places or they would get carried away and rebel. We don’t want anyone perishing because of lack of knowledge when we can teach them if they are willing.

  22. Numbers 15

Make God An Offering He Can’t Refuse

So, forty years from now, some of these folks are going to live in the land God promised. Yay?
When they do, there will be some rules. Oh, go on…
God says that grain and drink offerings are supposed to be paired with animal offerings. More side dishes for bigger animals.

All Israelites are supposed to do this and, if non-Israelites living among them want to, that’s cool with God, too. He treats everyone the same.
God would also like the people to donate a loaf of bread to the priests every time they bake a batch. Sounds delicious.

If the people accidentally break one of these laws that God has told them about, they can present an offering and things will be good again. Individual sinners can do the same.
But if you purposely break a law and don’t really care, then you’re cut off from the community. So, sorry. Better luck next time, sinner.

    Everybody Sinners Must Get Stoned
Quick story—while the Israelites are wandering around in the wilderness, they catch a guy collecting sticks on the Sabbath. That’s considered doing work on the Sabbath and it’s a no-no.
The people aren’t sure what to do with him, but then God tells Moses to go ahead and have the people stone him to death. And so they do.
Um, let that be a reminder to you. Collect your sticks on a Thursday.

God also tells Moses that the Israelites should put cool blue fringe cords on their clothes. God hopes this will remind them to follow his law instead of sinning their little hearts out. Fingers crossed.

  23. 15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord.

Praise the Lord that through Jesus even gentiles are able to become a child of God.

  24. declared what should be done to him.

Who would think that simply gathering sticks on the Sabbath would cost you your life? It wasn’t the fact that he was gathering sticks, it was the disobedience to the law given.

How many of us find ourselves in this setting? We’ve been given commandments of faithfulness, giving of our time, talent and treasure to God, living a separated lifestyle, walking after the spirit and not after the flesh, walk in obedience and submission and yet we find ourselves falling short everyday.

Many times we choose our will, our fleshly desires over what we know to do. Yet the Bible is very clear, “to him that knoweth to do good, and does it not, it becomes sin.

    God help us!!

  25. 23 Even all that the Lord hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the Lord commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;

  26. 15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord.

16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you

There is one law, one way and it’s HIS way. On the ark with Noah, there was one way to be saved and it was through one door. Today there is still only one way to be saved and it’s the apostles doctrine taught in Avts 2:28. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God.

  27. 15:39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye May look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them. And that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes after which ye us to go whoring.
    ……..
Let’s fix our hearts and made up our minds.
Repent and Ask God to forgive us of anything that is hindering
Our relationship with him from getting stronger.
The more we seek God and fall in love with him, the more we want to obey and please him….
I want your anointing in my life oh Lord!!!

  28. 20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.
21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the Lord an heave offering in your generations.
22 And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the Lord hath spoken unto Moses,

Offer up your first fruits and offering to the Lord. I can’t understand when someone complains because they want to be blessed, feel as though they aren’t blessed, but then you find out that they don’t tithe and offering properly. Don’t expect blessings if you don’t want to give back properly.

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

They took working on the Sabbath extremely seriously. This blows my mind and is so mind boggling to me because so many people today don’t even think twice about it. I myself for the longest didn’t see anything wrong with it. But I now realize that by giving my Sundays 100% to Him, He gives me back so much more.

  29. 40 Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God. 41 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord your God.’”

Thank you Jesus for your blood!!! Without that blood we would still be sacrificing animals. We always have to remember form where He got us out of not so that the devil can torment our minds but so we can share our testimony to those around us. We must never leave our first love. I still remember that joy that I had when I got baptized. I knew my life was going to change and for that I’m grateful that 11 years later I’m still standing on His Word stronger than ever!!! Thank you Jesus for forgiving my sins!! ♥️

  30. 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

  31. 17 The Lord said to Moses, 18 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land to which I am taking you 19 and you eat the food of the land, present a portion as an offering to the Lord. 20 Present a loaf from the first of your ground meal and present it as an offering from the threshing floor. 21 Throughout the generations to come you are to give this offering to the Lord from the first of your ground meal. NIV

  32. 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

When you remember something you have a connection to it. When we remember his commandments we need to have a positive connection to the lord and be holy. Our hearts need to be connected to the spirit of God and I need to be connected. I’ve found out when I’m struggling I need to connect to the commandments that I know are true.

  34. Numbers 15:27-28
    27) And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
    28) And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

Ignorance means: lack of knowledge or lack of awareness.

This reminded me of what Bro. David Smith has taught us to say when we pray a prayer of repentance. “LORD, forgive me of the things I didn’t even know was a sin.”

  35. 39 – 40 “When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.”

In Numbers 15 they were given a visual reminder of what is expected. That will be shared throughout generations.

“A large body of research indicates that visual cues help us to better retrieve and remember information. The research outcomes on visual learning make complete sense when you consider that our brain is mainly an image processor (much of our sensory cortex is devoted to vision), not a word processor. In fact, the part of the brain used to process words is quite small in comparison to the part that processes visual images.

Now, think back to a major life event. Most probably, you had to put forth great effort to remember the vocabulary words. In contrast, when you were actually living the event, I bet you weren’t trying to commit your words to memory. Yet, you can quickly and effortlessly visualize these experiences (now, even years later). You can thank your brain’s amazing visual processor for your ability to easily remember life experiences. Your brain memorized these events for you automatically and without you even realizing what it was doing.”
    – Haig Kouyoumdjian Ph.D

What a creative God we serve! Before there were scientists, before we ever knew about “visual reminders”, God prepared the way to help!

God created the brain to work in such ways, and then gives the tools to use the brain for your advantage!

  36. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
3 And will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the Lord, of the herd or of the flock:
4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the Lord bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil.
5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one lamb.

I believe God was merciful to Israel, these verses deal with sacrifice, sacrifice to cover sin and sacrifice as an expression of thanksgiving. Israel at their point of failure, needed to be reminded of sacrificial payment and the need to give thanks even in the wilderness.

  37. 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and beholy unto you God.

God is so loving that he forgave the Israelites and to show their trust in the Lord they had offerings of meat, flour …. They must obey and follow the rules. This helps keep them in line and helps them not to sin so easily. As we stay close to God today and read the word, go to church this also helps to keep us in line today.

  38. God spoke to Moses: “Speak to the People of Israel. Tell them, When you enter your homeland that I am giving to you and sacrifice a Fire-Gift to God, a Whole-Burnt-Offering or any sacrifice from the herd or flock for a Vow-Offering or Freewill-Offering at one of the appointed feasts, as a pleasing fragrance for God, the one bringing the offering shall present to God a Grain-Offering of two quarts of fine flour mixed with a quart of oil. With each lamb for the Whole-Burnt-Offering or other sacrifice, prepare a quart of oil and a quart of wine as a Drink-Offering.

In this chapter God used Moses as if it were him. God is willing to use us, if we follow his word. REACH OUT POFW!!😁😁😁

  39. NLT 39 When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

I find this amazing that God told them to make a fringe to remember his commandments, he knew that the flesh would be in the way forever just like they never had faith and forgot what God had brought them out of when they were facing trouble each time. God help us keep your commandments and remember where you brought us from

  40. 35 And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

God is serious about us following his word. There are no shortcuts when it comes to going to heaven. We must do things the way God intended for it to be done. Follow God’s plan and you can reap the benefits of his promise.

  41. 39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

And remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them. It is one thing to remember it is another to take action. We are exhorted from the word to keep his commandments, and be doers of the word not only hearers

  42. 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
3 And will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the Lord, of the herd or of the flock:

Right after they are rebuked for rebelling against God, He reiterates his promise to them that they will get to enter the Promised Land.
Many times we mess up, and because Jesus is so good to us, He will reiterate His promises to us.

  43. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

God can talk to whoever he wants and when he wants to. I’m beginning to think he wanted to talk to Moses. The deal is… so many people want a word from the Lord but they won’t listen to the man of God. This is stupid. Moses understood how it worked. When God told him to go to Egypt he went and talked to his man of God first Jethro. If we want a word from the Lord, we should start with the word of God, then take it to the man of God. Gods plan is to speak thru the man of God.

  44. 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God
God is expecting these things from us.
We cant just enjoy his blessings and coverage yet ignore what he expects from us.
    Live Jesus Give Jesus!!

  45. 39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

They placed fringe at the helm of the garment as a reminder to obey the commandments of God. I’m reminded in the new testament of the women with the issue of blood that touched the helm of Jesus garment. Even in a crowd Jesus recognized that He was touched.

His spirit connected with hers as she was seeking healing. She had enough faith to believe that she could be healed and she was. Could it be that the healing we are seeking after is found in the very moment we put our eyes on Jesus by remembering the fringe. Remembering the commandments and obeying them?

  46. 38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

That reminds me of a time when i was a kid and was attending a church event. We were given rubber bands to wear around our wrist so that when we would think of doing anything wrong we could remind ourselves to do the right thing by giving ourselves a little pop.

  47. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

AS the continuation of these chapters unfold, it becomes more evident to me that the will of man, the carnal mind is in constant opposition to the things of God. This chapter is expressing many of the instructions of God to the dot, it does make me think as to the importance of obedience to the plan and voice of God. It is interesting to note that if the instructions of God should just 1 be violated it was a call to be put to death.

My take on this – if I can apply this to me in the right now moment, if I don’t follow the instruction and the plan of God to the exact dot, crucifying this flesh, submitting my will to God and dying daily to my flesh daily, then I am at risk that I be cut off and essentially suffer spiritual death by way of my disobedience. Imagine spiritual death that essentially could finalize in eternal spiritual death. The things of God cannot be played with. God help me be a better me, not a mechanical christian, not because I am forced to, not because I am asked to do it, but let my heart so be connected with you that I please you with the life that I live by listening to your voice and following your command.

  48. ““Speak to the sons of Israel and tell them to make for themselves tassels on the hems of their garments throughout their generations, and put a cord of blue on the tassel of each hem. It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, so that you do not follow after [the desires of] your own heart and eyes, [desires] after which you used to follow and play the prostitute, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy (set apart) to your God. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.””
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭15:38-41‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The tassel was a visual and reminder of the commandments. It helped them stay focused. And if they obeyed the commandments it would follow have Gods desires.

  49. 17 Then the LORD said to Moses, 18“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel.

We all need spiritual instructions, guidance and counseling. Our Pastor is our “Moses”, he is our shepherd to lead to our salvation, and help us grow in God.

  50. “You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭15:39‬ ‭NIV

I thought “prostitute” was an interesting word choice for giving into our lustful desires. But after I got to thinking about it ultimately we pay a huge price for choosing to sin. Is giving your life to the pits of hell really worth a few moments of “fun?”

    Obviously not.
