Numbers 29

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:

And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram,

And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:

Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.

And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:

But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord for a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish:

And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, and two tenth deals to one ram,

10 A several tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

11 One kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering of it, and their drink offerings.

12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days:

13 And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish:

14 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams,

15 And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs:

16 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

17 And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

18 And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

19 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering thereof, and their drink offerings.

20 And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;

21 And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

22 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering.

23 And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:

24 Their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

25 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

26 And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

27 And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

28 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering.

29 And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:

30 And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

31 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

32 And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:

33 And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

34 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

35 On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein:

36 But ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord: one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish:

37 Their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner:

38 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering.

39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lordcommanded Moses.

  1. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

Thank you, Lord, for your offering and sacrifice, The Altima’s sacrifice.

  2. Verse 6 MSG “These are all over and above the monthly and daily Whole-Burnt-Offerings with their Grain-Offerings and Drink-Offerings as prescribed, a pleasing fragrance, a Fire-Gift to God.” Verse 39 MSG “Sacrifice these to God as a congregation at your set feasts: your Whole-Burnt-Offerings, Grain-Offerings, Drink-Offerings, and Peace-Offerings. These are all over and above your personal Vow-Offerings and Freewill-Offerings.” What are we offering before the Lord?? We must give in addition too, not trying to replace one for another; but, rather give freely above/beyond what we have vowed and what is required. Let us give our best and be a pleasing aroma to the Lord, something He can use. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 NLT says ” In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.”

  3. 40. And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lord commanded Moses.

Everyone should have a pastor that tells them all that the Lord commands, not just what he thinks they want to hear.

    2 Timothy 4:
    3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  4. Numbers 29:39-40 [Amp] [ Peace Offering]
These you shall offer to the Lord at your appointed feasts, besides the offerings you have vowed and your freewill offerings, cereal offerings, drink offerings, and peace offerings.
[40] And Moses told the Israelites all the Lord commanded him.
Just think there wouldn’t be any Church or Any Church members if it wasn’t for Jesus giving his sarfice of himself for our sins. I love you Jesus !

  5. 38 And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering.

So aside from our continual burning fire and what’s expected from us we can still offer more…our freewill offering! What a beautiful opportunity to LIVE for JESUS!

  6. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.
40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lordcommanded Moses.

Obedience is key – no skimping on the sacrificial offerings. God wants our best!

  7. “So Moses gave all of these instructions to the people of Israel as the Lord had commanded him.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭29:40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes we don’t understand why the man of God has us to do some of the things we do. We’re not always suppose to understand though, that’s why we’re giving a shepherd. So key is be obedient and obey Gods word and he will bless you.

  8. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lordcommanded Moses.

When God gave instructions the first time in the book of Leviticus, the children came up out of Egypt. Here he given the same instructions to remind the children of Israel to get back to giving offerings and free will offerings and having feasts to bring forth a holy convocation. This after coming out of the wilderness. Therefore Moses was instructed to remind them of their responsibilities before God.

Sometimes we don’t understand why the man of God speaks somethings into our lives, whether from the pulpit or individually, we have to be obedient to the word of God. One thing I have learned, I may not always like it or agree with it, but I have to be obedient to him since he having authority over me and my family. For me to stay blessed and favored of God I have to submit with humility sincerity to him and God. That is the only way I can have God propel me in my ministry, my job, my life, and my relationship with God. We have everything to gain and everything to lose. It is up to us how we live Jesus and how we can give Jesus to others by being examples of obedience to God’s word.

  9. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

How easy it is to do what pleases Him. You just got to do it the way He commanded. To stay in His grace you must follow His Commandment.
Hebrews 11: 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
God loves us so much that He wants to make sure we are able to please Him, so since we can’t please Him if we have no faith He makes sure that we do! Romans 12: 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.!!! It is obvious all He wants is us, for us to be obedient, for us to follow His commandments, for us to believe in Him, and for us to sacrifice it all to be with Him!!! May the Lord Jesus Christ open your eyes to see what He wants from you. In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🏻

  10. 13 And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish

God Has required something from everyone, each according to what he has given us. Just like in these scriptures there are certain offerings required from certain people but the one thing they all have in common is that they’re offering is without blemish. Blemish virtually mean anything wrong with the animal, any type of physical defect. When we present ourselves as living sacrifices and presented to be holy before our God and whenever we bring our gifts to the altar, it must be that we have sought God for forgiveness that there is no sin that is separating us from him.

  11. Serve the Lord with gladness.
    Come before Him with singing.
Why grumble about what or how much we do for the Glory of God.
Serving with a heart that says yes I bring a sacrifice but I bring it with gladness in my heart. Each feast had a sacrifice the word says a whole offering .
Are we truly bringing all of our heart into our worship for the King of Kings .

On the first day of the seventh month, gather in holy worship and do no regular work. This is your Day-of-Trumpet-Blasts. Sacrifice a Whole-Burnt-Offering: !
Rejoicing that we have life, breadth , the capabilities of freedom in worship.
Oh Come Let Us Adore Him with our whole heart!

  12. ““Ten days later, on the tenth day of the same month, you must call another holy assembly. On that day, the Day of Atonement, the people must go without food and must do no ordinary work. You must present a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord. It will consist of one young bull, one ram, and seven one-year-old male lambs, all with no defects. These offerings must be accompanied by the prescribed grain offerings of choice flour moistened with olive oil—six quarts of choice flour with the bull, four quarts of choice flour with the ram, and two quarts of choice flour with each of the seven lambs. You must also sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering. This is in addition to the sin offering of atonement and the regular daily burnt offering with its grain offering, and their accompanying liquid offerings.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭29:7-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  13. Sacrifice!!! When the tough get going sometimes it is easy to forget even if its just for a moment tgat our sacrifice is nothing compared to what HE sacrificed for us!!!

  14. 29:39 these things ye shall do unto the Lord In your set feasts, besides your bowls and your free will offering, for your burned offering and your meat offering, and for your drink offering and for your peace offering.
    ——-
There were many different types of offering for different times, but ( I think) what’s important here( in our times….) is that whatever the person is able to give . It will show, it will be on their hands with a stretched arm. You’ll see it.
Some give more, some give less, some give it all, some give by faith, some wished to give…. as long as it is with a willing heart.

  15. We should do to the best of our ability what the Lord commands. Sacrifices, offerings, pledges and whatever else God commands. Pray, read his word, listen to pastor so you will be in tune to what is needed and required of us.

  16. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lord commanded Moses.

We should strive to give above what is required, not only of our finances but our time to the Lord.

  17. LIVE-GIVE JESUS
    EVERY WORD

40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lord commanded Moses.

Our frail human minds often seek to operate at the lowest level of obedience possible. The need is obvious:

    1. A man of GOD that will speak all that the LORD commands.
    2. A people that will act upon EVERY WORD spoken.

    EVERY WORD matters.

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

True LIFE is found in the WORD of GOD, the more WORD of GOD we know and LIVE the stronger we become and our health is enhanced. A daily time of reading and meditation on the WORD of GOD is important to our Spiritual Health.

Num 29:12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:

    Convocation מִקְרָא

    miqrâ’

    mik-raw’

From H7121; something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the palce); also a rehearsal: – assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

    Church Zack Church
We all need to be part of the assembly. The church is the modern day temple/synagogue. There has always been a place of worship dedicated for folk to gather and worship the Lord and read the scripture. The church is not a new idea, but one that has been here. We all need to be part of the Holy Convocation!

  19. 17 And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

God required so many animals and such expensive sacrifice because the Feast of Tabernacles was a happy memorial of God’s faithfulness to Israel during the Exodus. The sacrifice of so many animals was a demonstration of the richness of God’s provision to them through the years in the wilderness.

  20. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

There are so many parallels here with us in today’s world. Not only do we need to have sacrifices in our own lives for daily atonement and stuff we go through everyday. We need to faithfully bring tithes and offerings, but also we need to randomly bring offerings of money, our time, and talents. Just giving tithes and offerings is enough. Just sacrificing and fasting once isn’t what’s intended. How much has he brought us through and the. We turn around and only want to offer the bare minimum?? Besides what you have already vowed or promised God that you are part mousing to do every week or month, you should also, “. . . freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.” Give back to Him, because in the end, even if we have given everything it still would not be enough!

  21. Numbers 29
As I read this chapter, I decided to go back and count how many bullocks, rams,
lambs, and kid of the goats there were. There were 84 bullocks, 17 rams, 119 lambs, and 10 kid of the goats.

You might be asking, “Why is this so significant? Why is this so important to know?”
Well Hebrews 10:4 tells us, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sin.” Out of all these sacrifices, none could take away sin.
    BUT…
John said in St. John 1:29, “… Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the whole world.”
Jesus (the lamb being a shadow and type of) became the sacrifice and propitiation for our sins, and “not for our sins only, but for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
And in 1 Peter 1:18-19 it tells us that “… ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,… But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Thank You JESUS for the precious blood YOU shed way back on Calvary!
It’s the blood that gives me strength from day to day
It will never loose its power

  22. ‘These special sacrifices are in addition to your regular monthly and daily burnt offerings, and they must be given with their prescribed grain offerings and liquid offerings. These offerings are given as a special gift to the Lord , a pleasing aroma to him.’
    Numbers 29:6 NLT

The most beautiful things about living with Christ in a daily relationship is that even though we all follow the same guidelines, we all hold a personal relationship that is significant and unique for us!

A sacrifice for one may not be a sacrifice for another, yet we are all given the opportunity to give such a special gift to the Lord!

We are blessed to serve the Lord as uniquely as we are created!

  23. 39 ‘You shall present these to the Lord at your appointed times, in addition the offerings you have vowed and your freewill offerings, as your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, and as your peace offerings.’” 40 [c]So Moses spoke to the Israelites in accordance with everything that the Lord had commanded him.

The principle of giving above tithes and offerings is demonstrated in this chapter. They were to offer these sacrifices above what they had vowed to the Lord previously.

You can never out give God. The more we give, the more we are blessed and favored.

Give of your living, if you want to wear a smile
Giving of your living, it will make your life worthwhile
God expects the best of us if we want to make it through
So give of your living, the Lord will give it right back to you.

  24. 40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the Lordcommanded Moses.

If we want to please the lord we must always keep his commandments, whenever we are given instructions by our father we must always obey because it is true obedience that truly pleases him and that must always be our goal.

  25. 2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:

It says in this verse that our offerings are a sweet savor unto the Lord. This means when we give what he has requested and with a willing heart he enjoys it. Pleasing God is one the greatest things we can do to show our love for Him. He owns all things so he doesn’t need livestock. What he seeks is obedience and relationship.

  27. Numbers 29
#39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings and for your meat offerings, 40 And Moses told the children of Israel according to all the Lord commanded Moses. We should be obediant to the Lord and everything we give Him is ACTUALLY His! We cannot bless our Lord too much.

  28. 36] But ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord : one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish:

[39] These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

    John 11:25-26 KJV
[25] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

    John 12:3 KJV
[3] Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

    John 12:25 KJV
[25] He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

    Mark 14:22-25 KJV
[22] And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it , and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
23] And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
24] And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
25] Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

    2 Corinthians 2:14-15 KJV
[14] Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15] For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

  29. this chapter is about the sacrifices that the lord commanded Moses to do for us in everyday life sometimes we have to sacrifice things to do us better

  30. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

When you bring an offering before the Lord, it had to be freely given. God will not make you give, then turn around and bless you. When you give from your heart, God sees that and he will reward you accordingly. As long as we continue to follow God’s instructions, we will be to press through the oppositions in our life.

  31. “So Moses gave all of these instructions to the people of Israel as the Lord had commanded him.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭29:40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So thankful for the leadership in my life. The Lord speaks through His Word, the Spirit and the man of God. And one never contradicts the other. They all speak the same because it’s all from One source.

  32. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

Understanding why there are so many different offerings is the lowest level of understanding here. It is important that we see that Moses instruction came from God to the people. The man of God many not always fully understand what God is doing in the whole plan but His obedience is something we should glean from. For us to think leadership knows and understands everything all the time is ridiculous but we are all human serving a supernatural God who gives instruction and we give obedience in return. Not a always out of understand but always out of trust. Lord I trust ya… pastor I trust you. So I will obey.

Even when I don’t feel it, can’t see it, can’t touch it. I know your working because you never stop working. I said all that to say sometime we are pushed to give more to give another sacrifice and guess what let’s give it because He’s working. Let’s give it with out question because He’s working. Let’s give it without complaining because He is working.

  33. 39 These things ye shall do unto the Lord in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

    Amen!

  34. Our offerings to the Lord Almighty should be given with the most excellence and obedience. If we give/sacrifice on a daily basis, either at work, school, or family. Many of us have put aside on hold many things to sacrifice for a “better way.” Why not give our best sacrifices and offerings to the Creator of our life, to the One who gave His ALL for us? I pray that we present our very best to Our Lord daily. Amen!

  35. The holy convocation

The first time I really paid attention to this was prayer right before Western Day. Pastor said he wanted a holy convocation and not just a crowd. When I started praying that way things in the spirit started moving. God is not interested in just crowds but how is that crowd responding to his presence? That is the difference in a crowd and a holy convocation is our response to Him. Let us never take the moving of the Spirit for granted and every time we meet make it a holy convocation

  36. 11 One kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering of it, and their drink offerings.

The continual burnt offering. We should live our lives in such a way that we we offer unto God a continual offering. Offering of ourselves to God. This made me think Paul saying I die daily. We also must present our bodies a living sacrifice holy and accept unto God which is our reasonable service.

  37. 1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:

3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram,

4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:

6 Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.

If studied out I believe that each of these sacrifices that is referenced in these portions of scripture did have a precise purpose and meaning. Perhaps times have changed and customs have changed, but I believe that many types of sacrifices are still to be offered to God. A sacrifice of praise, a sacrifice of giving, a sacrifice of labor, a sacrifice of giving of personal time all of these as for an example in my opinion should be evaluated as to how they are being executed. In reading these scriptures I contend that if allowed it will shed light on oneself and give an understanding of one’s current condition.

The premise of a sacrifice when offered to God begins in my opinion from the heart, it reflects outward what is on the inside. But I must say that whatever we do, whatever we offer in sacrifice it must be done in sincere love to our creator.

I find it interesting that the primary mandate that God gave was to Love him 1st then the 2nd greatest commandment was to love our neighbor as ourselves. He goes on to indicate that if we were to give all personal possessions to the poor, and if we would give our bodies to be burned and have not love it profiteth nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. (1 Cor. 13:3)

It is important in my opinion on how we execute our sacrifices, if we do not have love we have nothing, it is in vain. We say we have received “power” after that the Holy Ghost came upon us, but often times I question where are the fruits? If I can express it, I honestly believe that the “power” that he references is for the empowerment to demonstrate the fruits thereof pertaining to the spirit which leads me to be a witness.

The question to ask, what am I witnessing? Talking out of my mouth is one thing, but portraying the actual fruit of the spirit is a true witness. I suppose I can speak in tongues for hours straight, but if I have not love, I am nothing more than sounding brass and a tinkling symbol.

When referring to the fruits of the spirit, right off from the get go, love is the 1st one. He talks about loving our neighbor as ourselves. I suppose one must ask what does it mean to love ourselves? Truth be told I don’t walk around being ugly to myself, I do not go around beating myself down and talking rude to myself, or mistreating myself. The illustration he gives shows me that I must treat my neighbor with love. When dealing with my neighbor I ought to be a living sacrifice in full demonstration of the fruit of the spirt. What type of sacrifice am I offering? Is it that of a sweet smelling savor?

Years ago, as it reminds me of a conversation with my father, I asked him why it was that so much offense would seemingly go on generally and particularly in many churches across the board, he replied Iron sharpens iron so doth man with man. I shook my head. I asked him so my being rude, and ugly will sharpen you?

He contended people will always offend you, which I can partially agree. I asked but what about the perfecting of the saints, the maturity? Again we are witnesses of what?

To love my neighbor in my opinion would mean and indicate the full demonstration of the fruits of the spirit.

To love my neighbor is bringing to the table in my opinion the following
Treating with love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance, patience.

I cannot say I love God and cannot treat my neighbor with true love that flows from the fruit of the spirit.

A sacrifice of a sweet smelling savor I believe is one that is governed by the attributes of the fruit of the spirit.

  38. 39“You must present these offerings to the LORD at your annual festivals. These are in addition to the sacrifices and offerings you present in connection with vows, or as voluntary offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, liquid offerings, or peace offerings.”

Lets give offerings on a daily basis such as prayer, praise and worship. Give thanks to God, to family and coworkers. Give offerings by serving in the Kingdom, by reading the Word, and telling others about Jesus.

  39. The Israelites started to not heed to Gods command on the details of the sacrifices for there sins.

They started offering sick animals, or defective animals. It was too much for them to give there best provoking God wrath.

It is the same when we half heartedly repent and repeat our deeds. After a while, we bring unworthy fruits of repentance expecting a Holy and Just God to accept them.

We give in to the myth that God is ONLY loving.l forgetting he is JUST and RIGHTEOUS.

God give us sincere fruits of repentance, worthy of an offering for our forgiveness!

  40. 39 “‘In addition to what you vow and your freewill offerings, offer these to the Lord at your appointed festivals: your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings and fellowship offerings.’”

Daily offerings were given unto the Lord!!! What are we giving unto the Lord daily? Are we doing His will? Let’s always remember to put a Him first!!
