Deuteronomy 17

Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lordthy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the Lord shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

  1. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evil favouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

    I ran across this passage today while searching for a specific scripture in the and thought it fitting to add it to my response to today’s blog:

    Present your body, therefore, as a living and holy sacrifice. Take all the tasks that you have to do every day – the ordinary work at the office, the factory, the home, the school; take the tasks that you perform in your marriage relationship and the parent-child relationship; and offer all of it as worship to God. (William Barclay, The Letter to the Romans, p. 168) Nothing that you do should be done outside the framework of serving the Lord.

    Many Christians find this incredible, but this is what Paul calls our “spiritual service of worship.” We must never limit our service to God to only those things that we may do as a congregation on Sundays and Wednesdays. But it must include all that we do, “in word or deed” (Col. 3:17).

    True religion involves the whole of one’s life – as a parent (Eph. 6:4), as a son (Eph 6:1-3), as a husband (Eph 5:25, 28, 33), as a citizen and taxpayer (Rom 13:1-7), as a neighbour (Matt. 22:39). True religion involves how you conduct yourself at your place of work (Eph. 6:5-8) and how you may treat your employees (Eph 6:9). Christians, in every sphere of your life you are called upon to glorify God: 1) in washing and mending cloths and in cooking meals for your family or in working as a lumberjack; 2) as a student or in working for the telephone company; 3) as an employee for the city or as a secretary in an office. In every situation your spiritual service of worship requires that you present your body (what you do in your body) to God as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to Him.

    Worship is not restricted to what we do at the meeting house two times a week. It is as wide as the Christian’s life. This passage in Romans teaches this and so does Heb. 13:15-16.

    Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

  2. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    PUT EVIL AWAY

    12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

    Much is said about the Blessings of GOD and rightly so. However we are not wise to focus solely on that aspect of The Kingdom of GOD. The LORD also gives instruction here in regard to instruction, obedience and correction.

    The WORD of the LORD states that we “shall put evil away from us”. Do not entertain it, do not talk about it, do not take pleasure in it, do not allow it to remain in your presence.

    GOD is HOLY and has filled us with the Holy Ghost so that we possess the POWER to overcome every evil and to put it away from us. May JESUS guide us as we put away every evil thought, word, act or influence away from us.

    May we keep our leaders in prayer for our Nation cries out and needs Jesus!!! May our president be guided by the word of God and may he NEVER depart from it. In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🏻

  4. Deuteronomy 17
    18-20 This is what must be done: When he sits down on the throne of his kingdom, the first thing he must do is make himself a copy of this Revelation on a scroll, copied under the supervision of the Levitical priests. That scroll is to remain at his side at all times; he is to study it every day so that he may learn what it means to fear his God, living in reverent obedience before these rules and regulations by following them. He must not become proud and arrogant, changing the commands at whim to suit himself or making up his own versions. If he reads and learns, he will have a long reign as king in Israel, he and his sons.

    We must stay in the word of God. As the Endtime is upon false prophets are riding. The word must remain the same . Scriptures cannot be twisted to suit a congregation. There will be those who are going to rise up preaching and teaching what people want to hear not what the word of God says.
    International Version
    having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

    11 Timothy 3:5
    Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    Matthew 24:11
    New Living Translation
    And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.

  5. 2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lordthy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

    3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

    4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

    5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

    The situation of serving God is a very serious situation that should not be taken lightly. What if we still performed the same way in the scriptures that we read today. We would absolutely run out of rocks. There would be so many be put to death because of the wickedness that surrounds the church in our society today. We have the blessed opportunity to not only save ourselves from this untoward generation, but we are going to be judged by God and not man. Since we are now under the blood and not under the law. We can find unmerited favor or grace as we approach the throne of God. We have to make sure that we are living Jesus to the extent that we walk in his image. When those that need help and favor we can be that example for them and hopefully turn them away from their wickedness.

    Love the Lord with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy might. Let’s have unrestricted revival.

  6. 14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
    15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

    The Best Is yet to come. with all the things that the Israelites have been through and all the things that they just come out of. They were finally in the state of peace receiving the word and the law of God but they still hadn’t walked into the promised Land. God was giving them preparations for how to approach certain topics and how to handle situations and what to do should they decide to want to King. The key to that was if they wanted a king like the rest of the world. We don’t have to follow the standards of the rest of the world. We can live by the word of God and how he tells us to live. We get into the trouble that we do trying to fit and match the rest of the world standards. But we have to continuously remind ourselves that God does not think the way we do and his ways are above ours. Israelites did not have to have a king but we will find out later on how much it cost them. Just because God allow something that happened doesn’t mean it’s okay it just means he knows the outcome already

  7. Deut.17 :18-19 [Amp] And when he sits on his royal throne, He shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, Out of what is before the Levitical priests.
    [19] And He shall keep it with Him and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn
    [ reverently] to fear the Lord his God , by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes and doing them.
    By doing this we should write down on paper what the Lord lays on our heart. Where to go , How to do it, How to study it. God will give us something do everyday of our lives. Thank you Jesus .

  8. I like the earlier comment “we would absolutely run out of rocks”. If we live as we were in the earlier days then we would not be in the havok or so to speak…that we are in today. If we keep our eyes on Jesus and stay close to him, pray always we can keep ourselves out of alot mischief and turmoil.

  9. Deuteronomy 17:18-20 (NLT)
    18) When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.
    19) He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.
    20) this regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

    “The BIBLE and Read It Daily”
    By Reading and Studying the Word of God daily, it will help us fear the LORD, it will help us obey His word and commands, it will help us stay humble “and not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think,” and it will help us from turning away in the smallest way.

    Thank You JESUS for Your Word!!

  10. It said that when Jesus gives you a place to live there might be someone who try to pull you away from god.pray when you think you need to pray.

  11. Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

    2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lordthy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

    3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have

  12. Deuteronomy 17:1 And don’t sacrifice to God, your God, and ox or sheep that is defective or has anything at all wrong with it. That’s abomination, an insult to God, your God.

    We must serve God with the best of our abilities, time, and possession, or our pretended obedience will be hateful to him.
    Remember perfect, pure, and spotless sacrifice of Christ.

    Psalm 119:97,98 Oh how Iove I Thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies : for they are ever with me.

    Psalm 20:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul : the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

  13. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

    If we stay with the Lord he will lift us up because he is the real God and if we listen to him he will care for us and bless us

    God bless yall!😇

    John 20:22-23 KJV
    [22] And when he had said this, he breathed on them , and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: [23] Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

    Sounds like the church in the last days?

    Deuteronomy 17:6 KJV

    Deuteronomy 17:19 KJV

    **John 19:21 KJV
    [21] Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

    John 19:28 KJV
    [28] After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

    Matthew 27:51-53 KJV
    [51] And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; [52] And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, [53] And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

  15. And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    AMEN!!!
    To everyone this is important that we live this way daily! This will keep us from fulfilling the lustful desires of the flesh and the lusts of the eyes. As we grow closer to the Lord in 2020 you’ll see how GOD has kept you from the dangers and lies of the enemy.
    Why? Because daily we study, daily we pray, daily we worship, daily we serve, daily we live, and daily we give Jesus. HALLELUJAH!!!! Thankful!!! Blessed!!!

  16. Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the Lord your God must die. In this way you will purge the evil from Israel.
    Deuteronomy 17:12 (NLT)

    Be careful to judge or even entertain evil things. The Lord our God is holy and expects us to live according to His Holy Word just the same. Sanctify us today Lord and lead us in paths of righteousness as we go about Your work.

  17. iLove Jesus

    Deu 17:1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
    Deu 17:2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant

    This is the reason why we cannot give our leftover money as a tithe. God deserves the best not the leftovers. Once apon a time in culture, the man of the house was served first. This was not because he was a dictator but it was out of respect. The culture no longer serves the man of the house first, in todays culture the children are served first. God forbid we give God the leftovers. Let’s give him the first fruit and keep him first.

  18. 3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

    In this verse the lord warns us that we shouldn’t put any others gods or idols before Him because there is only god and he is a jealous god, we should always keep our focus on him and let nothing distract us from the straight and narrow path.

  19. 2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lordthy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

    3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

    The all-mighty God wraps his self in flesh Jesus Christ and mercy say said I’m not gonna let you go.

  20. 20. That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    We are not here for us; our goal is not to lift ourselves above our brethren, but to work together to lift Him up so that others may see His greatness and worship Him.

    Romans 12:
    3. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

    4. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

    5. So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

    10. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

  21. ““Never sacrifice sick or defective cattle, sheep, or goats to the Lord your God, for he detests such gifts. “When you begin living in the towns the Lord your God is giving you, a man or woman among you might do evil in the sight of the Lord your God and violate the covenant. For instance, they might serve other gods or worship the sun, the moon, or any of the stars—the forces of heaven—which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then the man or woman who has committed such an evil act must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    We have a tendency to always want to give God second best – if not third or fourth best. But God will not receive such a sacrifice. Let’s give God our first fruits.

  22. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

    20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    We are meant to study the Word of God everyday! But as the youth leaned last night, it isn’t until we put it into action that it does any good.

    “The Word of God will keep you from sin, sin will keep you from the word of God.

  23. Deadly accusation

    6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

    7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

    Jesus said let the person who has no sin cast the first stone. You have to be so careful to accuse someone an know your facts because you never know how heavy your accusation could be. Accusations have ruined people’s lives. There are innocent people in prison because someone accused them before they had all the facts. I heard a story of a man who spent his whole life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit and he was released in his 70s due to DNA evidence that was not available when he went to trial. The reason this law has the accuser casting the first stone is to teach that you better be sure and be ready to take this persons life along with your accusation. Let us be slow to accuse someone. Pray and ask God to sort it out for you. He always knows the whole truth, he is never deceived with half the story.

  24. you are a follower of god but with this belief there are soon to be distractions that will try to pull you away, keep your self away from this. anyone knows better.

  25. Deuteronomy emphasis the fact that God was motivated by love to give the Israelites his Law, and that only love for God can motivate a believer to obey the Lord.

  26. 19 He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.

    DAILY!! The Word of God must be kept within us and read daily!!! How are we going to know who God is if we don’t have a relationship with Him. We must learn to trust in Him. Any situation, problem, or trial the Lord tells us exactly what to do in His Word. The more we learn about Him and His promises the more we know Him, fear Him, trust Him, etc. Jesus is FAITHFUL!!!

  27. 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    God brought us here to live the word of God to study his word and praise him. He brought us here to spread his word and help save.

  28. 17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

    God knows temptation can lead his peoples hearts astray. The very first man and women proved that. So he doesn’t want to add anymore distractions to carry us away. Multiple wives mean multiple challenges including if they serve other gods. Heaps of gold and silver can lead to greed. We can only serve one God and he is warning us to keep our focus on his will. This is a matter of the heart and keeping it pure. Wealth on it own isn’t bad but it’s a bigger challenge. The bigger the blessing the bigger the offering should be. Marriage on its own isn’t bad but having multiple wives is. He made one man for one woman with Him in the midst binding them as one. Everything has an order and we have the opportunity to submit to his will.

  29. 1 Do not sacrifice to the Lord your God an ox or a sheep that has any defect or flaw in it, for that would be detestable to him.
    2 If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant,
    3 and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky,

    You should always listen to what God commands you to do. Always follow what God tell you to do. Do not break what God commands you to do Live Give Jesus!.

  30. 5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

    Loving the Lord with all our heart mind and soul will require us to make hard decisions. The worship of other Gods cannot be tolerated in anyway possible. In today’s time we do not use physical stones to kill the person.
    “ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. “ Ephesians 6:12

    “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”Ephesians 2:20

    Jesus is the chief cornerstone and His word is like a hammer. We are to lead those that commit wickedness to Jesus. It’s not our responsibility to condemn or stone to death in the physical. It is or responsibility to break up the follow ground of their hearts with love, the Word of God, and representing Jesus to them. In 2020 we need to pray for divine wisdom to Live Jesus and Give Jesus to the lost and wayward.

  31. (My interpretation)

    19 And it (the Bible) shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

    20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel (POFW).

    Hallelujah!!

    Praise the Lord God!!

  32. 8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

    When in doubt of the clarity of judging whether we should participate in certain things, or activities, outside the church… Pray about the issue and seek Pastor’s advice. Don’t just base it upon your own judgment when in doubt.

  33. 14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

    We must stay connected to the word of God, keeping his commandments, we must eat the Fat,

    7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

    8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

    9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
    Meditate therein day and night!

  34. 7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

    8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose

    We shall put a end to the people that do evil and help them put evil away

  35. The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will turn his heart away from the Lord . And he must not accumulate large amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself. “When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.
    Deuteronomy 17:17‭-‬20 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/deu.17.17-20.NLT

    Reading this I can see why so many Kings of Israel, including Solomon, went astray after so long. They must read this decree everyday after first copying it on a scroll in front of a Levitical priest.

    If we would meet our God in prayer everyday and go over our commitments to Him and ask Him to guide us and for Him to have His way we could stay on track so much easier. Thank You, My God for Your Grace, Mercy, and Instruction.

  36. 17:19 and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law, and this statutes
    To do them.
    ———————
    ….. that he may lead….That he may learn…
    God wants us to lear and not having to go through stuff because of our disobedience … and he IS NOT in a rush, he will make give us chances and if we do t learn then..??????

  37. ““When you come to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, ‘I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    This Scripture means that, God tells us that he is our king and will rule over our lives.

  38. 7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

    8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

    9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

    10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the Lord shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

  39. 10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Lord thy God, according as the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:
    11 And thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
    12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

    If the rulers and kings had obeyed these verses, and kept the word of God in their hearts, the world might have been different than it is today. So, we as the church must be the examples to this world that our rulers aren’t! We must read the word, keep it in our hearts, live it before others and be ready to give Jesus to whom ever we can.

  40. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

    19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

    20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    The king had to take note of the law. He had to fully understand it. Read learn it carry it with him. He had to be dedicated to it so he could be dedicated to God. That his heart never leave this word, and the word would give him life and his house and his children.

  41. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

    19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

    God is making known that no matter the title we possess we are to submit to God because no one is exempt.

  42. 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

    Thru His Word, God shows us exactly how to live and enjoy our days to the fullest. Our free will is what messes us up, God’s plan for us is perfect!

  43. ““Never sacrifice sick or defective cattle, sheep, or goats to the Lord your God, for he detests such gifts.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/deu.17.1.nlt

    Remember whatever you sacrifice whether it’s your time your treasure or your talent be sure it’s 100% your best. All throughout this word we see examples of people giving and doing their best for the Lord and there’s no reason why we should cut God any shorter than the effort they all did. We can’t put give God he was the pure and holy one. The lamb without blemish that one that washes us white as snow in Denton. So give him your all, find something to offer unto him.

  44. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

    19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

    We too are royal priesthood according to the word of God. Therefore, we are then also commanded to read this Word every day of our lives that we may learn to fear the Lord our God, to keep the laws and statues, to do them. It is only my the Word that we obtain life, and the promises. The Word is what will guide our lives and help us through the way.

  45. Verse 1 MSG says “And don’t sacrifice to God, your God, an ox or sheep that is defective or has anything at all wrong with it. That’s an abomination, an insult to God, your God.” We must give God a very best in all that we do.

    Colossians 3:23-24 AMP “Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.

    Colossians 3:23-25 MSG “Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.”

  46. ““You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or sheep with a blemish or any defect, for that is a detestable thing to the LORD your God.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Give god your 100% best! Don’t give god the sloppy seconds. He has done too much for us to serve him half heartedly We want to reap his blessings but don’t want to give our all.

    ““It shall come about, if you listen obediently and pay attention to My commandments which I command you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul [your choices, your thoughts, your whole being]—”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  47. 8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;
    9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

    When there is a controversy that cannot be decided on, bring it to the Man of God. When questions arise and sometimes confusion in our beliefs, don’t be embarrassed or too shy to admit that you don’t understand and cannot come up with a reason as to why. Pastor is a wise man and he has answers. If he doesn’t know the answer to your particular question, he will pray and fast diligently until God sheds light and gives Pastor an explanation.

    Not listening to our Pastor or another Man of God in our lives could result in death. Adhere to the side effects and warning labels!! Listen to the Man of God!!

    19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

  48. “Go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who is in office at that time. Inquire of them and they will give you the verdict. You must act according to the decisions they give you at the place the Lord will choose. Be careful to do everything they instruct you to do. Act according to whatever they teach you and the decisions they give you. Do not turn aside from what they tell you, to the right or to the left.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:9-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    The Israelites literally had every type of individual or profession they needed within their community for every scenario that would arise. When they couldn’t solve an issue they had judges to turn to, priest to seek advice from, and teachers to teach them. However, having those resources were of no use to them of they didn’t utilize them, if they didn’t seek for guidance they needed. On top of that, if they didn’t put that guidance or verdict into action again, it was all for nothing. What good is it to process knowledge and have it sit stagnant?

    It’s very important for everybody to develop a community with the people around them, again, every individual in your life plays an important role. I know I say this all time but it’s something I truly believe in, find a group of people you can call family and never let go of them. Always know that you can turn to others, most importantly your pastor, when you are hit with a problem. And follow through with the advice your pastor gives you, don’t let his words fall to the waste side and never apply it, it makes it absolutely pointless to even reach out. In order to see change you have to apply change.

  49. 20This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

    Read the Word on a regular basis, but we should do so on a daily basis. Teach yourself the Word as this keep you from being deceived by false doctrines.

  50. “Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    This is the foreshadowing of Jesus. Anything with spot would be an abomination because Jesus was the ultimate pure sacrifice.

  51. “you shall most certainly set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses. You shall set a king over you from among your countrymen (brothers); you may not choose a foreigner [to rule] over you who is not your countryman.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    His ways our not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. We have to trust that those who God places in leadership will walk with Him, taking the steps ordered by God.

  52. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
    God commands us to give the very best. Also to give our very best in everything we do for show kingdom as well. They way we present ourselves to a Him daily. Our praise to Him, the way we talk, the way we act, our appearance. It’s a daily sacrifice, denying ourselves daily to follow Him in all His ways and giving our very best to Him, for Him.
