Deuteronomy 19

When the Lord thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;

As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:

12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

  1. 21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    That sounds fair I wish it was that simple today.

  2. Verses 8-10 CEV “Israel, the Lord your God has promised that if you obey his laws and teachings I’m giving you, and if you always love him, then he will give you the land he promised your ancestors. When that happens, you must name three more Safe Towns in the new territory. You will need them, so innocent people won’t be killed on your land while they are trying to reach a Safe Town that is too far away. You will be guilty of murder, if innocent people lose their lives because you didn’t name enough Safe Towns in the land the Lord your God will give you.” Growth requires more. More requires work. Work requires you. You requires LIVE-GIVE JESUS.

  3. 2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

    3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

    Go was commanding them to make cities of refuge for those that were accused of crimes. Mainly for those that bear the innocence and falsely accused. When the different situations and circumstances arose, the accused and the accuser would stand before the priests and God to sort out the truth. Like God said that there would not be blood shed in the land.

    I find that just like these refuge cities, we have a great refuge in the Lord. Scripture states that he is a strong tower for the righteous to run into and be safe. He is that refuge in the time of trouble and there is no one that can keep you out of the hands of God except ourselves. We can depend on him and trust him through it all. No matter the size of the enemy and problem that we have, we serve a bigger God. Thank God for his mercy and grace.

  4. 1. When the LORD your God destroys the nations whose land he is giving you, you will take over their land and settle in their towns and homes.

    2. Then you must set apart three cities of refuge in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

    3. Survey the territory, and divide the land the LORD your God is giving you into three districts, with one of these cities in each district. Then anyone who has killed someone can flee to one of the cities of refuge for safety. NLT

    Psalm 46:
    1. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    7. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

    10. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

    11. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. KJV

    -God is a very present help – right here, right now, always only a prayer away.

  5. Deut. 19:18-19 [ Amp] The judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and accused his brother falsely.
    [19] Then you shall do to him as he had intended to do to his brother, So you shall put away the evil from among you. We are not to judge or accused our brother or sister falsely. You are going to reap what you sow. God is watching us, We got to be careful of what we say..
    1 Thessalonians 4:11 ] To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs , and to work with your hands, as we charged you. God is going to judged everyone of us, If we don’t have any good thing to say to people , Then we should keep our mouths shut. Love one another and pray for one other like Jesus. Lord forgive us, and help us be like you. Praise God.

  6. 13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

    14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

  7. 20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
    21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Many years later Jesus quotes this scripture to say that we are no longer to live by this but to turn the other cheek, and to love those that try to hurt us. God was taking the Israelites from the ground up. He was establishing places of refuge and things to live by because they were walking into open territory to establish their lives and a community, so he had to establish rules a place that did not have a government for the protection of his children. When Jesus re-establish this he was any place that was already set up and already had places of refuge and a governmental system so he was changing the way they thought from being vengeful with one another to be merciful

  8. Deuteronomy 19:2-3 (NLT)
    2) Then you must set apart three cities of refuge in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
    3) Survey the territory, and divide the land the LORD your God is giving you into three districts, with one of these cities in each district. Then anyone who has killed someone can flee to one of the cities of refuge for safety.

    “Cities Of Refuge For Safety”

    Psalms 27:5, “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion (building used as a shelter): in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.”
    Psalms 46:1, “GOD is our refuge (being safe or sheltered) and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
    Psalms 71:3, “Be thou my strong habitation (the state of living in a particular place), whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress (strongly fortified town).
    Proverbs 14:26, “In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
    Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the LORD (JESUS) is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
    Isaiah 25:4, “For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

    JESUS is… HE’s our Pavilion, HE’s our Refuge, HE’s our Shelter, HE’s our Habitation, HE’s our Fortress, HE’s our Strong Tower, HE’s our Strength, HE’s our Help, HE’s our Safety, HE’s the One we can run to and we are Safe.

    So Thankful that JESUS is our Place Of Refuge For Safety!!!!!!!!

  9. 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
    10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

    Good keeps and protects the innocent and faithful. He provides refuge and peace when conflict arises. It’s up to us to recognize where our help comes from and seek Him.

  10. 17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

    That alone is a terrible thing, with having to just to stand before

    • *with having to stand before them would be enough to deter them from doing what ever they had conjured up in their mind!!!

  11. “You must not convict anyone of a crime on the testimony of only one witness. The facts of the case must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. “If a malicious witness comes forward and accuses someone of a crime, then both the accuser and accused must appear before the Lord by coming to the priests and judges in office at that time. The judges must investigate the case thoroughly. If the accuser has brought false charges against his fellow Israelite, you must impose on the accuser the sentence he intended for the other person. In this way, you will purge such evil from among you.
    Deuteronomy 19:15‭-‬19 NLT

    I think if our society today adopted these firmer consequences then we may have less criminal acts and less false accusations. It’s tragic how someone who breaks the law only gets a small on the wrist or every just jail time. And speaking as a former criminal (before the Blood of Jesus was applied)…just looking at other nations who have a much more severe justice system they apply harsher punishments and their criminal rate is way down.

  12. 8 And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

    9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

    Oh please Lord ENLARGE OUR COASTS!!! Give us the cities around us. We claim Ft Worth, Aledo, Weatherford, Mineral Wells, and all that you will give us!!! We need laborers that are willing and able to go and claim wherever their feet tread!!! In Jesus Name Amen!

  13. Jesus Christ is our refuge . He has made provisions so that we can run to Him and be safe.

    God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

    Not a crutch as some may say but a power station where we can get into His presence and receive strength. If we do not run to Him we will run to someone or something. Statistics reign high that women in their 20’s are dying at a rapid rate due to the refuge they are running to. Drug addictions. Not just street drugs but prescribed drugs. Their stories of needing a place a city of refuge to run to first to rehab then they run into someone from the past or someone else new and exciting comes into their life and the same story begins sadly ending up dead. The city of refuge was fir those who had accidentally killed someone someplace they could run to in their crisis. Jesus Christ became this city for us this refuge of a safe place. We have got to hurry up and share and be bold in our efforts of telling people friends family about life in Jesus. He is our refuge our strength. The world is running everywhere for refuge and are still dying. Will we stand up and direct them to the City Jesus Christ. We sit in the presence of God everyday while the world is either finding refuge in a bottle of alcohol or a bottle of pills. We must we must do our best to lead them .
    A young man sitting in jail waiting for someone to reach him teach him . I A young man two streets over from POFW recently released out of prison waiting for someone to really care. Another young man waiting for real friend to help him during his time of crisis. Homeless young man reaching for someone . Young women needing transportation to church . Old women drowning their self in pain pills . Men sitting in nursing homes waiting for someone to teach them give them a ride. The list is insanely long ….
    Too far too smelly too risky . Business people church people couples singles old young they are everywhere. Too tired to busy too involved in church to help someone get to the city of refuge? How long will we wait to help them get to the City of Refuge. Too late ? We are the ones who must lead reach teach how to get to this city . God help us today help us to be transparent to lead to help them run to THE CITY OF REFUGE .
    The harvest is ready ! Are we? Help Wanted ! City if Refuge .

    Forgive me but my heart is full and the burden heavy . While we go and sit and bask in the presence of God someone is out on the street searching for a place of refuge. Help me God to Live Jesus so that I can Give Jesus.

    Thank you for being my City of Refuge! .

  14. 19-20 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you. And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

    I hope that I am not alone in this, but have you ever left a dirty dish in the sink until the next day? In some cases, it seems left over food or sauce has infused with the plate and constant scrubbing and detergents do not seem to get it to release. Sometimes, sin can seem infused in our lives and impossible to remove, no matter how much we pray, fast and try. We have become so good at sinning that it becomes a part of us, something we cannot separate from our very being. We feel as if we can never be totally clean because we know how dirty we have been in the past.

    I believe the best remedy for food stuck in this situation is to leave a dish soaking in water for a period of time. This allows the water to loosen up the grime and dirt so that it can be wiped away, usually without much effort. We try to fight sin with every fiber of our being but feel like we have a long way to go. Doing this may scrub some dirt and grime away, but we will likely have some left-over sin-parts stuck that can’t be scrubbed away. What we need is a good soaking in the blood of Jesus.

    1 John 1:7 If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

  15. iLove Jesus
    5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

    This was literally an “axe ah dent” because he got killed with an axe. He didn’t mean to kill anyone, didn’t plan it, no harm or ill will was meant but, now the accused has to run to the sanctuary city to escape the wrath of kinfolk who are trying to hunt him down.

    Thank You Jesus for giving us the sanctuary. When folk enter into the sanctuary, they can enter with complete freedom from the threat of the devil.

  16. “Then the rest of the people will hear about it and be afraid to do such an evil thing.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Don’t be afraid to share the truth of the Word of God. There’s no ice cream in hell, there’s no slurpees or froyo. Speak bold about the plan of salvation and the consequences without it. If you ain’t going to heaven there’s only one other place and that’s hell and ultimately it’s based from our decisions made on Earth. Share that with someone today.

  17. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

    17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

    18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

    Sentence should never be passed upon the testimony of one witness alone. A false witness should suffer the same punishment which he sought to have inflicted upon the person he accused. Let’s be very careful. This is what gossiping leads too. I don’t want to be a false witness.

  18. 8 And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

    If we obey God’s commandments there is no limits to His blessings upon our lives! I am so thankful that He is our judge and jury .. If we had to put out fate in some hands I’m not so sure that the outcome would be fair.

    Lamentations 3:20-24
    It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
    They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
    The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
    The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
    It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

  19. And the judges shall make diligent inquisition and behold, if the witness be a false witness and had testified falsely agains his brother.

    Yes back then it was eye for eye. The evil they planed for you, it was goi g to be the evil they will receive….
    But what I like is where it says: And the judges shall make diligent inquisition….
    Order, justice, any favoritism ….

  20. 21 Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Showing pity for sin is not acceptable in the Kingdom of God. Sin needs to be dealt with according to God’s word and not our emotions. Emotions will lead us to do things, say things, and act ways that are contrary to the Kingdom of God. Today let us walk according to the Word of God and not according to the emotional pity our flesh would desire to give.

  21. Deuteronomy 19:14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

    Let every man be content with his own lot, and be just to his neighbor in all things it is the will of God that everyone should know his own;

    Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which the fathers have said. Removing the ancient landmark was the equivalent of altering a deed for a larger share of the land.

    15:25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the boundary of the widow.

  22. Thou shalt separate

    Deuteronomy 19:11 KJV
    [11] But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:

    [13] Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

    [21] And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    **Revelation 12:9-12 KJV
    [9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

    [10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

    [11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

    [12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

    Revelation 12:17 KJV
    [17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

    Revelation 13:18 KJV
    [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

    💛Colossians 2:17-23 KJV
    [17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. [18] Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, [19] And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. [20] Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, [21] (Touch not; taste not; handle not; [22] Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? [23] Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

  23. God is a God of Justice , if you surrender to his will then you’ll see what he’s about ..

    Then the rest of the people will hear about it and be afraid to do such an evil thing. You must show no pity for the guilty! Your rule should be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
    Deuteronomy 19:20‭-‬21 NLT

    I pray sincerely to Jesus about his will being done in our souls

  24. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    Many things can tempt people to lie sadly it’s a normal thing and it happens way too often in the world and in the church. Reading this Moses teaches Israel that regarding the truth about an injustice one witness is not enough, and just one lying witness can ruin many lives. We have all seen it, a lie can hurt and destroy lives…… reading this it states that once a lie is discovered they must suffer the consequences intended for the accused. It’s a harsh but just penalty, but reading this I am reminded that, the devil, is the father of lies, there is no truth in him (John 8:44). God our heavenly Father is truth there is nothing false in him. We as children of God should reflect His truth. If we lie, then we reflect the father of lies. Let’s not seek to defend or justify false witnesses but with God’s help, let’s win them and others over to the truth.
    Psalm 15: 1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? 2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous,who speaks the truth from their heart; 3 whose tongue utters no slander,who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; 4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; 5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken.

  25. 17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
    18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

    This is interesting to me that we basically have this formed in our government system today in America. A person may not go before priests but they do go before judges in matters of controversy. I never put it together, but it makes sense, since our fore fathers established the country on biblical principles.

    Could you imagine if we still did this today, . . . an eye for an eye, a life for a life, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand or a foot for a foot. Some say it is like this, but it’s not to the same extreme. If it was, we would have a lot of toothless, handless, and footless people!!

  26. 14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

    Landmark – An object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.

    Landmark not only tells us where we have been, but it also establishes where we are so we know where we are going. People can point to various landmarks and recount what happened there like the Alamo etc.

    It is so important in our spiritual walk that we have landmarks as well. So not only do we know where/what we have been delivered from, but also so we know where we are headed.

    As Christians sometimes it’s so easy to discount someone else’s landmark. It may not be important to us, and therefore we may tend to minimize it in their lives. However, we are driven by different things. What is important to me may not be important to you. However, those landmarks serve a purpose and it is not for us to remove them because we don’t understand their significance.

  27. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

    17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

    18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

    God gave his people the fairest way to discover the truth of a matter, a just legal system, where they inquire of God as to who is guilty or innocent. He gave them special cities where one could flee to when there was an accidental death. God’s ways are just and fair whether they are easy or not! He will intervene for us when we put him in the center of our lives.

  28. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    RESPECT AND HONOR

    14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

    We live in a decaying society of angry and disrespectful people. This Endtime attitude is one of great struggle where families lack devotion, prayer and service at the Ministry level. RESPECT AND HONOR is best taught and demonstrated in and through the HOME.

    The Church is a great source and resource to proactive and demonstrate this great KINGDOM initiative. Knowing the initiative and purpose of the church is important to every believer. The scripture says “Do not remove thy neighbor’s… rejecting the selfish and arrogant temptation to identify an advantageus opportunity at a neighbor’s landmark. RESPECT AND HONOR will ensure that we do not cross the line of landmarks and will remind us to HONOR a deed or agreement.

  29. 21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Because Jesus died on the cross so that we could be forgiven, this changed and we are now instructed to forgive and not hold a grudge or try to “get even”.

    Matthew 5:38-39 (KJV) 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

  30. 19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

    20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

    21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Bring the Lord into your life and push the evil away from your life. Spread the word of God do not be worried about what people will say about you or think because all of that is not important but spreading the word of God is.

  31. 21 You must show no pity for the guilty! Your rule should be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    No pity for sin, however we have to remember to hate sin and not hate the person. We must go into a warfare intercession for these ppl. We might be the only person that is wearing for this soul. There is nothing impossible for God no matter how hard a situation might seem GOD IS ABLE!!!

  32. Deuteronomio 19 :11-12

  33. “And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    ““And if the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as he swore to your ancestors, and gives you all the land he promised them,”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    I like the NTL translation ENLARGES YOUR TERRITORY…
    this verse reminded me of a song by Israel and New breed “No Limits” and began to think of all the things that God has for us. He has no limits for us. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ever imagine. We have no limits and what God can do through us in this region of Fort Worth, we can enlarge our territory because with God we have no limits, no boundaries to possess this land and the land around our territory. We need to desire a spiritual increase of our territory so we can be used by God in all we do, so He May move in the mist of this region.

    NO LIMITS
    ENLARGE MY TERRITORY OH LORD
    TAKE THE LIMITS OFF

    LIVE. GIVE. JESUS

  34. I learned that your neighbor and you can go cut wood in the forest you FLEE then it hits the other person and he sides and then your have to go to one of thoose cities and save him

  35. then both you and the accused must be taken to the court at the place where the Lord is worshiped. There the priests and judges will find out if you are lying or telling the truth. If you are lying and the accused is innocent, then you will be punished without mercy. You will receive the same punishment the accused would have received if found guilty, whether it means losing an eye, a tooth, a hand, a foot, or even your life. Israel, the crime of telling lies in court must be punished. And when people hear what happens to witnesses that lie, everyone else who testifies in court will tell the truth.
    Deuteronomy 19:17‭-‬21 CEV

    Karma – the ways of the world today! God kn ouws what is in the heart of man. When we leave accusations, trouble, fights, gossips in His hands for sure we know that vengeance ISin the hands of the LORD. You just need to make sure your heart is right with the LORD a d the individual!

  36. 9you must designate three additional cities of refuge. (He will give you this land if you are careful to obey all the commands I have given you—if you always love the Lord your God and walk in his ways.)10 That way you will prevent the death of innocent people in the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession. You will not be held responsible for the death of innocent people.

    We must obey the commandments that the Lord has given us so that the innocent people that live in the land may not be dead but to be ensure that the innocent people will feel comforted and secured and that they may know Jesus
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  37. “and if you keep all these commandments and do them, which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and to walk always in His ways, then you shall add three more cities for yourself besides these three,”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    This Scripture means that, if you keep the Lord’s commandments and walk in his ways He should add more unto you.

  38. 21 And thine eye shall not pity: but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    I’m glad we have Jesus and His loving forgiveness now. Amen.

    Hallelujah!!

    Praise the Lord our God!!

  39. 21 And thine eye shall not pity: but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    I’m glad we have Jesus and His loving forgiveness now. Amen.

    Praise the Lord our God!!

  40. 18 The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against a fellow Israelite,
    19 then do to the false witness as that witness intended to do to the other party. You must purge the evil from among you.
    20 The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.
    21 Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Do not give a false testimony follow God and always obey what he has commanded you and had asked you to do love your enemies and love your neighbors.

  41. Deuteronomy Chapter 19.

    Deuteronomy Chapter 19 explains the cities of refuge. The Lord commanded the Israelites to set aside three cities in the land that they have taken from other nations. They were to determine the distance of this land and divide it into three parts.

  42. Deuteronomy Chapter 19.
    Deuteronomy Chapter 19 explains the cities of refuge. The Lord commanded the Israelites to set aside three cities in the land that they have taken from other nations. They were to determine the distance of this land and divide it into three parts.

  43. I have real all these awesome comments and my heart is full of joy and my mind is full of good knowledge. God is so good and faithful I will never be able to thank him or praise him enough!

  44. 20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
    if you don’t want harm or evil to come to you then this is a pretty sweet deal.

  45. 15 You cannot convict anyone of a crime or sin on the word of one witness. You need two or three witnesses to make a case.

    16 If a hostile witness stands to accuse someone of a wrong,

    17 then both parties involved in the quarrel must stand in the Presence of God before the priests and judges who are in office at that time.

    18 The judges must conduct a careful investigation; if the witness turns out to be a false witness and has lied against his fellow Israelite,

    19 give him the same medicine he intended for the other party. Clean the polluting evil from your company.

    20People will hear of what you’ve done and be impressed; that will put a stop to this kind of evil among you.

    21 Don’t feel sorry for the person: It’s life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. MSG

    If someone comes to you and says so and so said this and this but don’t say nothing. The first thing you do is go get the other party and settle it right then.

  46. Love the sinner, hate the sin. We have a court system today that is suppose to decide if people are innocent or guilty. God has helped us in today’s society for our court system’s. We must trust in our Lord.

  47. “if you keep and carefully observe all these commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God, and to walk [that is, to live each and every day] always in His ways—then you shall add three more cities [of refuge] for yourself, besides these three, so that innocent blood will not be shed [by blood avengers] in your land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and blood guilt will not be on you [for the death of an innocent man].”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:9-10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    To truly walk with God, we have to submit ourselves to Him. This includes following The instruction He gives. The standards or commandments given aren’t to limit us or keep anything from us. They are given so we don’t fall for anything that will take our eyes off of the Kingdom. I thank God for the instruction He provides and the personal convictions He has given me. I pray we stay humble before God and always fix our eyes on King Jesus!!

  48. 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
    10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.
    The Lord has provided us a place of refuge. Where we can seek Him wholeheartedly. As humans beings we tend to fail and commit many sins towards others and mainly to God. We know that there is a place where we can surrender our all and find forgiveness in Him.

  49. 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

    We need to pay attention to what Jesus tells us. When he tells us to do something to be blessed, we must. His blessings will far outweigh the efforts to get there.

  50. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    Two or three witnesses are required to settle a matter regarding judgment of iniquity. If a man commits a sin then flees to a city of refuge he may be judged fairly. If found guilty God says not to have pity on him. God gave the Israelites the promised land as a gift and they are not to spill innocent blood upon it. We need to search our hearts and see if their is any place inside of us that desires to see our people fall, fail, or perish. We say we only want blessings and pray for each other but some actions may speak otherwise. 93% of communication is non verbal. Therefore actions play a large part. We decide what thoughts we will allow to dictate our actions. God wants us to rid ourselves of such impure thoughts.

  51. “In the land the Lord is giving you, there are already stones set up to mark the property lines between fields. So don’t move those stones.(‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭CEV‬‬)

    When the Israelites arrive to the land that the Lord has given them, they must obey rules and commands that the Lord has layin out before them. If we obey the rules and commands of the Lord then we too will be blessed by the Lord our God.

  52. 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

    He’s said this i think in every chapter so far… Maybe there’s something to this statement. 😆

    20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

    21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

    Dont pity the person being punished, learn from it, know what goes around comes around. Sometimes worse….

  53. you must designate three additional cities of refuge. (He will give you this land if you are careful to obey all the commands I have given you—if you always love the Lord your God and walk in his ways.) That way you will prevent the death of innocent people in the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession. You will not be held responsible for the death of innocent people.
    Deuteronomy 19:9‭-‬10 NLT

    Our testimony speaks volumes. Loving and following the Lord’s commands can cause others to live the same and in turn saving their soul.

  54. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    At the mouth of two, or at the mouth of three shall the matter be established. How awesome is our Lord that keeps true to his word commands and precepts. He is the Word alive himself and cannot deny the word. It is interesting to note this scripture at the mouth of 2 or 3 every word is established. Well thinking about it now we understand why we have 4 gospels. Not 2 or 3 but 4 different witnesses of the gospel and life of Jesus, they recount the acts and ministry of Jesus. They all establish and confirm. 4 that there might be no doubt in earth about Jesus. The number 4 deals with everything earthly that’s why we have 4 seasons: spring summer autumn and winter, 4 elements: earth fire wind and water, and 4 points of location: north south east and west. The number 3 represents spiritual perfection, so 3 sets of 4 that says, spiritually speaking the earth was perfectly created by the master of the universe and all 4 gospels establish the truth of JESUS.

  55. “Then you must set apart three cities of refuge in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Survey the territory, and divide the land the Lord your God is giving you into three districts, with one of these cities in each district. Then anyone who has killed someone can flee to one of the cities of refuge for safety.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    So thankful that God is our refuge! We can run to Him in times of trouble. It’s in Him that we can find safety.

  56. 2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

    3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

    4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;

    5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

    6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

    7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

    Strong tower is the name of Jehovah; The righteous will run to him, and he will be raised. Pro 18: 10

    God commanded that cities of refuge be established throughout Israel (Numbers 35: 22-28). A city of Refuge was a shelter to provide protection, help and rest to anyone who had committed an unintentional homicide.
    The six cities of refuge were scattered throughout the nation so that no one was too far from one of them. (Joshua 20: 7) No tribe was too far from the place of security. These cities were accessible. Some were located in mountains to be even more visible.

    Tradition tells us that the priests made sure that the roads leading to these six cities were in good condition and that regular signs were erected to guide the fugitive. The rabbis tell us that the doors of these cities were never closed. What a picture of Christ! No doubt the “road to the city” is free!

    The murderer was to run immediately to the nearest city of refuge.

    The murderer had the right to enter one of these cities and no one could forbid it.

    The victim’s relatives had the right to kill the murderer while he was not in a city of refuge.

    The murderer was to remain within the city of refuge; If he went outside the boundaries, he ran the risk that a relative of the victim would be waiting to kill him.

    You could never change the location of these cities.

    In general, these cities represent the grace of God for the sinner, because the wages of sin is death. All men are sinners and deserve to die. When we were in the world we sinned without realizing it, and late that early the punishment for our sin was going to reach us.

    Christ presents himself as the city of refuge to which we run to protect our lives from the avenging enemy (Satan) as soon as we realized our crime. As long as we remain within the city of refuge that is the Lord, the enemy will not harm us, but leaving, we will be at your mercy.

    The Pentecostals of Fort Worth are a house of refuge. POFW has been our house of refuge, God knew what He was doing when He sent us there to be a part of POFW. We love Pastor and sister Watts and everyone who is part of POFW. God is making a move in our church, I can say that POFW is my church. I love my Church.

  57. God is not willing that any should perish

    3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

    We have to make room in our perfect churches for those who need refuge. This is one of the callings of the church. To hide those running from the world. Those who need forgiveness and those who need a change in their lives. Thank God for a church that leads even the worst of us to Jesus.

  58. “You shall not show pity [to the guilty one]: it shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Don’t make excuses for sin but also don’t be so judgmental. As Christians we are so quick to judge others. No their sin is not okay but it’s not our job to judge. God didn’t judge us he payed the ultimate price and died on the cross for our sins. As Christians we should be ministering and interceding for the lost souls that they find the true love of god and are baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost and not being judgemental.

  59. Accidents Happen. That is why the cities of refuge are built. But if a man kills his neighbor on purpose and goes there he will be brought back to be judged. Whoa to him who thinks he can misuse God’s holy order. Imagine your neighbor being drug back home so that he can be judged for killing someone because he was mad and it was no accident.

  60. 8 And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

    9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

    The obvious of what can be noted in these passages of scriptures is the absolute faithfulness of God. He is indicating, that should his commandments be followed and his precepts be kept that he shall enlarge our territory. While the concept of what we read pertains to a precise purpose in that era of time I wholeheartedly believe that God will bless and cause to be fruitful in this modern time.

    Perhaps the question would be ask, so if you conduct yourself in a good manner then God will recompense you? So he simply pays you to be good? To this I reply absolutely not, I believe that because God who is rich in mercy, and is undeniably faithful, it is by this I am blessed and rewarded.

    Nothing that I can achieve or do can be measured to the greatness of Jesus, my righteousness or as filthy rags as stated in scripture. We as believers are privileged to serve a God that is supremely powerful and Holy.
    Essentially as we pursue the things of God and we follow his steps and commandments we are activating this promises of God in our lives, in other words God will respond according to his riches and promises that he spoke of throughout scripture.

    Many elements to think on, his goodness, his protection, the hope of eternal salvation, the blood that causes for redemption, the Holy Ghost living on the inside, the hope of Glory to see him one day. All of these promises are activated if we but follow him according to his commandments.

    We can possess the land if we so love him as he mandates us to do so. He will enlarge our territory if we so allow the word of God to dwell in us richly in all wisdom.

  61. 16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

    17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

    18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

    19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

    Just recently i witnessed this exact thing happen. And its sad when you see the false witness pay the consequences for the wrong doings.
    It was a reminder for me to live according to God’s will, honor and follow His Commanments!
    Its never ok to give a false testimony.
    Live Jesus, Give Jesus!

  62. “The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:20‬ ‭NIV

    The next verse begins with “show no pity,” leaving us no choice but to set examples of what is expected of others. The examples we set by giving consequences to our actions begins at a small age. The more Lea isn’t we are the more society disregards morals and values. We can o lay blame ourselves for what the world becomes if we choose not to follow through with consequences.

  63. 13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

    At times our actions do not take into account the consequences. That’s why Jesus went as far as saying if you just Hate you brother, you are guilty of murder.

    May be you would refrain from letting hate linger too long because God knows if produces all kinds of malice and wrath. That is left unchecked can lead someone blindly to commit actual murder.

    Put them away, because they can contaminate the rest of the body.

  64. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

    16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

    17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

    18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

    We have a merciful God.
    I’m thankful for His grace and patience towards His people. We no longer have to be put to death for evil deeds, all we have to do is repent, turn from our wicked ways, and start obeying and following God’s word.

  65. 14“When you arrive in the land the LORD your God is giving you as your special possession, you must never steal anyone’s land by moving the boundary markers your ancestors set up to mark their property.

    Yes, God is preparing a special place for each one of us in heaven. We don’t have to worry about taking anyone’s land or property. We’ll all be one very big joyful family in heaven.
