Deuteronomy 20

When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.

And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.

And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart.

And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people.

10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.

11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.

12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:

13 And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:

14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.

15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.

16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:

17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:

18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lordyour God.

19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in the siege:

20 Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.

  1. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

The opening portion of this chapter reflects some very important details and elements.

But I cannot help but to imagine what it must have felt like to stand at the brink of war and at the same time have the confidence as it had already been indicated and spoken that God would be with you. Wow, to have Jesus Christ on your side fighting on your behalf what a privilege, a God of grand magnitude of power and strength.

But I ask myself nothing is really different in this present time, we have a God that goes before us daily. He gives a definite promise, “I will never leave you nor forsake you, but I will be with you yea even unto the ends of the earth.” Or as David declared, “because thou hast been my help therefore in the shadow of the wings will I rejoice.” He makes the declaration by way of God’s wisdom and strength it was a help to David, therefore he would rejoice in him. While the trail and tribulation may be tough and surrounded with no hope sometimes you just have to get a glimpse of that nailed scared hand, and you will know it is that hand still fights your battles daily.

Or another as David said, ” When I consider the heaven the moon and the stars what is man that thou art mindful of him and the sun of man that thou visiteth him?”

Considering the greatness of God and the power he obtains David ask the question, who am I that thou art mindful of me? But if his eye is on the sparrow, I know he watches over me.

    We serve a mighty GOD.

  2. 8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart.

    • GO BIG OR GO HOME!!! is the saying that first came to mind, which is exactly what the world would want us to think, because “it’s all about us”….BUT NO IT’S ALL ABOUT GIVING GLORY TO THE ONE AND ONLY LIVING GOD!!! JUST TIO HAVE HIM ON OUR SIDE IS ALREADY A HUGE DEAL, THE REST IS GAIN!!! EL RESTO YA ES GANANCIA CON DIOS!!! HALELUJAH!!! GRACIAS PADRE!!!

  3. 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

    Psalms 24:8-10
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
    the Lord mighty in battle.
    Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
    even lift them up, ye everlasting doors;
and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

What a peace to know that if we obey the Lord’s commandments and submit ourselves to His will, our battles have already been won…

“Hallelujah, death could not hold him down for He wears the victor’s crown”

  4. Deuteronomy 20
3 He shall say: “Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. 4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

There are many things in life we must battle. Fear will try to take a hold of you at the mist unexpected moment . We the church must remain bold and strong in the Lord. We must continue to pray that our minds are covered . Each person’s battles are different. To one it may seem like a small battle . Yo someone else a very large battle . What ever the battle is no matter what size of the army you may be facing we must hold on to the promise that God said He would fight the battles. Many times easier said than done. Our strength cannot be dependent upon our circumstances. Have someone you can share your struggles with . Encourage one another in the Lord . Pray together. Have unity remind one another the scriptures that proclaim victory. The enemy is defeated in Jesus name .

  5. Verses 1-4 MSG “When you go to war against your enemy and see horses and chariots and soldiers far outnumbering you, do not recoil in fear of them; God, your God, who brought you up out of Egypt is with you. When the battle is about to begin, let the priest come forward and speak to the troops. He’ll say, “Attention, Israel. In a few minutes you’re going to do battle with your enemies. Don’t waver in resolve. Don’t fear. Don’t hesitate. Don’t panic. God, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your enemies, fighting to win.” This made me smile this morning, when I read “In a few minutes your’re going to”. It reminded me of what Bro. Smith says “In a few minutes we’re going to all come to the front”. But before that, what is he doing???…..he is preparing us, giving direction, letting us know what is about to happen. The same here in these scriptures, God is preparing us, giving direction, letting us know what is about to happen…..”we win”. God does not give us the spirit of fear as 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP says “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. As one of the songs that we sing says:

    We are bold;
    We are strong
We are ready to march on
    Through Christ)
    We will take this city

  6. And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

6 And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.

7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.

    Nadie sabe para quién trabaja.
Nobody knows who he works for.

It’s a saying in Spanish meaning sometimes you work hard In building something Or you buy something and can’t wait to use it but somebody else comes and use it first.

  7. Deut. 20: 4 [Amp] For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you.
1 Sam. 17 :45 ] Then said David to the Philistine, You come time with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the ranks of Israel, Whom you have defied. God is preparing us for a battle , Put on the Whole Armour of God. God is fighting for us , He is on our side. Let’s rise up Pofw, And March on and take this city. I bless you in the name of Jesus.

  8. 1. When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

    2. And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

    3. And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4.For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

God not only fights with us, He fights for us! There’s no greater comfort than to know we don’t have to face our battles alone, especially when the One in our corner is the Creator of the Universe!

    God is fighting for us
    God is on our side
    He has overcome
    Yes, He has overcome…

    God is fighting for us
    Pushing back the darkness
    Lighting up the Kingdom
    That cannot be shaken
    In the Name of Jesus
    Enemy’s defeated!

  9. 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

  10. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

God was giving them preparations who what to do before going to battle come on and this is after they’ve come into the promised Land. This should be an indication that as we are walking into our promise that God is taking us to we are still going to have battles even after. we like to think that once we step into our promise it’s just coasting from that point but we are still going to have battles of our flesh that would prevent us from being where God wants us to be. Just as much God prepared them for battle we should continue to prepare ourselves for spiritual battles now and as we step into our promises

  11. 1When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 2And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, 3And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 4For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you

For when we go into battle, we should not be afraid, for the Lord goes before us and we shall not fight alone. Can I say that our weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God to the pulling down the strong holds. I don’t have to fear any mortal or even any spirit that may come against me. But I can not go into battle without a battle plan. I have to have a plan of action to come against the enemy. I have to be prepared both physically and spiritually.

Let the enemy hear our battle cry and know that the Lord God is with us. We will win in the end and take the spoils of the battle because have has given us the victory.

This song comes to my mind this morning:

    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
    Yes I do
    He is a mighty conqueror
In him I will trust all my battles he’ll fight
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
For me he died but he rose on the third day
That’s why I have true victory every day
Truly I’ve been through the storm and rain
I know everything about heartache and pain
But God carried me through it all
Without his protection I would surely fall
I’ve been broke, without a dime to my name
But all my bills got paid
Because I called on Jesus’ name
You can’t tell me that God isn’t real
    ‘Cause I’ve got the victory
And that’s why I’m still here
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
    Yes I do
    He is a mighty conqueror
In him I will trust all my battles he’ll fight
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
For me he died but he rose on the third day
That’s why I have true victory every day
I’m not worried about material things I don’t have
I’m just blessed ’cause I know that my savior’s there
Because I know that my blessing is on the way
I can’t see it right now but I stand by faith
I’ve fought many, many battles in his name
I’ve held up the blood-stained banner
And proclaimed that Jesus is the truth and the light
Believe me when I say he will make it right
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
    Yes I do
    He is a mighty conqueror
In him I will trust all my battles he’ll fight
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
For me he died but he rose on the third day
That’s why I have true victory every day
Yeah, I got the victory, yeah
I got the victory, yeah, yeah, yeah
And if you got the victory, sing along with me
Yeah, I’ve got the victory, yeah
I got the victory, yeah, yeah, yeah
Sing it with me, I’ve got the victory
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
    Yes I do
    He is a mighty conqueror
In him I will trust all my battles he’ll fight
    I’ve got, got the victory
I’ve got the sweet, sweet victory in Jesus
For me he died but he rose on the third day
That’s why I have true victory every day

  12. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Our God is strong and mighty in battle.!! With God in our side who can be against us!!!

  13. You must completely destroy the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, just as the Lord your God has commanded you. This will prevent the people of the land from teaching you to imitate their detestable customs in the worship of their gods, which would cause you to sin deeply against the Lord your God.
    Deuteronomy 20:17‭-‬18 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/deu.20.17-18.NLT

When God called them to completely take out a surrounding nation it was to purify the land. We can look through out the Bible and history and see that anytime they didn’t annihilate a people they ended up being influence by those people and falling away from God

  14. He will say to them, ‘Listen to me, all you men of Israel! Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’
    Deuteronomy 20:3‭-‬4 NLT

Nothing to fear when I’m walking with God because my God fights for me! He’s my shield, He’s mmt sword – the victory is the Lord’s!

  15. 8“Then the officers will also say, ‘Is anyone here afraid or worried? If you are, you may go home before you frighten anyone else.’

If we are afraid or fear anything we can cause lots of problems with others, we can make people feel frighten or even devastated because we show lack of fear which can Corrupted others minds of being scared and which others would start questioning God if he is even mighty or even powerful this why the Lord used their officers to tell us not to fight in the war if we are afraid.
    Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  16. iLove Jesus
Deu 20:5 And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
Deu 20:6 And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.
Deu 20:7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
Deu 20:8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart.

As I read verses 5 through 8 something leaped up in my spirit. These are valid excuses in which a man did not have to go to war. The excuses are the following:

    *Just built a new house
    *Just planted a new vineyard
    *Just married a new wife
    *Fearful and fainthearted

In the law here, this would constitute an excused absence from having to fight in war. In stark contrast, when Jesus came on the scene hundreds of years later, he removed these very excuses that people had grown accustomed to. Luke 14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

Jesus is effectively letting people know there would be no more excused absences. Either come on or get left behind

  17. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  18. 8 The officers will then continue, “And is there a man here who is wavering in resolve and afraid? Let him go home right now so that he doesn’t infect his fellows with his timidity and cowardly spirit.”

I believe the greatest obstacle in every Christians life is to overcome the thought that we are good enough to be God’s chosen people. We strive for perfection but rarely obtain the goal. When we feel we have reached a milestone and a certain part of our lives is finally in balance and as it should be, another part falls apart. Sometimes it seems we are always playing catch-up just to keep up.

It’s hard enough to admit to yourself that you don’t have it all together. Convincing everyone around you that you do is even harder. What if we admit that we don’t have it all together? Would we be scorned and looked down upon? There is a reason this verse is in the Bible. I predict everyone at some point in their lives do not feel battle ready.

I predict there are times when everyone questions why we should even continue to try. However, we must understand our perfectionist attitude can be the cause of doubt and unbelief. Don’t keep yourself from succeeding just because you have an ounce of doubt. Don’t keep yourself from succeeding just because you have deemed yourself unworthy. Sometimes, it is knowing that you are not perfect but always working to be the best version of you.

  19. ““Then the officers will also say, ‘Is anyone here afraid or worried? If you are, you may go home before you frighten anyone else.’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Careful who you hang around. Whatever someone is being dominated by could easily spread itself to you especially if you have on the armor of God. I know what you’re thinking, well if we shouldn’t go around someone that’s in bondage then how are we going to reach them. Easy put the armor of God in and get to work. Without it consider yourself the next vessel that spirit of fear, lust, hatred, or addiction tries to attach itself to. This officer had it right go home if your not ready I don’t want that spirit getting on the others
So guard yourself today with the armor of God

  20. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

A dynamic of which God know can stray us away from staying firm in Gods faithfulness is to trusting our eyes when it comes to our spiritual walk.

Even though your eyes can be a very important part of your daily life, you can rely on them too much. You can try and use them in your walk with God, but all they will do is get in your way. Because the only way to walk in the spirit is by Faith.

  21. 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

He is with us to fight our battle. It is during those battles that we become stronger and our christian character is being built.

We must always remember that the Lord is with us. Sometimes it is fearful not knowing how the battle is going to end because we are seeing with our natural eye or our emotions. We must get beyond that and remember to take God at His word – He will be with us alway, even unto the ends of the earth.

    Not Afraid

    I have this confidence because
I’ve seen the faithfulness of God
    The still inside the storm
    The promise of the shore
I trust the power of Your word
Enough to seek Your kingdom first
    Beyond the barren place
    Beyond the ocean waves

When I walk through the waters, I won’t be overcome
When I go through the rivers, I will not be drowned
My God will make a way, so I am not afraid

You keep the promises You make
There isn’t one that is delayed
So I will not lose heart
Here, I will lift my arms
And start to sing into the night
My praise will call the sun to rise
    Declare the battle won
    Declare that it is done

When I walk through the waters, I won’t be overcome
When I go through the rivers, I will not be drowned
My God will make a way, so I am not afraid
When I am in the fire, I will not feel the flames
I’ll stand before the giant, declaring victory
My God will make a way, so I am not afraid

    Before me, behind me
    Always beside me
    No shadow, no valley
    Where You won’t find me
    No, I am not afraid
    Before me, behind me
    Always beside me
    No shadow, no valley
    Where You won’t find me
    No, I am not afraid
    No, I am not afraid

    • Oh wow!!! Sometime early this morning I had that song in my mind
      Before me, behind me
      Always. Beside me 🎼🎼🎼🎼

And then we read what this chapter Talks about.
      A confirmation 🙌🙌🙌

  22. God is fighting for us and with us. We need to put on our armour and get going with God beside us we will be more than a conquerer!

  23. 20:4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you
To fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
    ——
All right, a warning sign has been put…
We are being aware of what we are going to be lookin at in a time of war.
Things that will be intimidating and cause us to fear…
WE HAVE YO MAKE UP OUT MIND , that we will not aloud for ourselves to get worried, cares of this life, problems, situations, desires, needs… let us put all these things down…
Because God promise to be there with and for us.
So, let’s stand and say, yes Lord!!! I will NOT be afraid.
    Your will be done.
    I PRAISE
    I REPENT
    I PRAY
    I REJOICE
    WE WIN!!! In Jesus name.

  24. Deuteronomy 20:1-4
    1) WHEN thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
    2) And it shall be, when ye are come night unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
    3) And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let nor your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;
    4) For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

The battle we face today may be more about what is unseen (Fear in us) than what we see before us (horses, chariots, a people more than thou).
This is why the Priest came and spoke to the people. Because when the Israelites looked at the battle before them (horses, chariots, a people more than them), fear would set in. This is why the Priest encouraged the Israelites with the words, “The LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” That way, they had nothing to fear when they knew God was with them.

So today if you are fighting a battle that looks to big, and that battle of the unseen (Fear) tries to set in, remember:
“For God hath not give us a spirit of fear; but of Power, and of Love, and of a Sound Mind,” (2 Tim. 1:7)
    God is going with you
    God is fighting for you
    God will save you
God will never leave you, nor forsake you
God is the God of your battle

We must put our Trust, our Confidence, our Faith, our Hope in HIM!
We do not have to fear what man can do unto us, when we have GOD on our side!!

    Thank You JESUS!!

  25. When God establishes something it will happen , I thank Jesus for liberty, power, grace , love, mercy , wisdom . GREATER is he that is in me that’s in the world …. No flesh , no enemy, no parts of the world will be able to stop God’s will … Surrender to him today for victory

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and you see horses, chariots, and many more people than you have, you must not be afraid of them. The Lord your God is with you—and he brought you out of Egypt. The priest will say, ‘Men of Israel, listen to me! Today you are going against your enemies in battle. Don’t lose your courage. Don’t be troubled or upset. Don’t be afraid of the enemy. The Lord your God is going with you to help you fight against your enemies. He will help you win!’

  26. 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

There is no reason to be scared or worried God is always with you to fight your battles and help you take down evil. There is no reason to give up remember God if here to save us and love us. There are greater things coming to you.

  27. 10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.

Not everyone is seeking peace especially our enemies. It’s evident even here. They are told that when they go to fight against a city that they Lord is giving victory over then they should proclaim peace over it. When chaos and battle is in the air and resolve is found we should seek that peace to cover it. If they remain in hostility then they will have to besiege it to bring it into submission. When we are submitted unto God we find that he will go before us in battle. We are simply the vessel, used to operate in Him, that God’s will to be done.

  28. 4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

I was reminded of when your learning to ride a bike for the first time. You learn to balance with the training wheels and eventually someone teaches you to ride without training wheels.

They ride along beside you until you tell them to let go. There will be some fails, some scrapes, and even bruises. But in the end, you learn to ride a bike.

In this scripture, I see the same thing on our walk with God. He’s walking along beside us, holding us up and encouraging us that we can do it! God is always with us! Even if we tell Him to let go, and we fall, He’s there to pick us up, dust us off and start over again.

  29. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

There may be some battles that we cannot win on our own, but with the help of the Lord and the power that works in us, we can overcome. Even as we go thru a valley, he can and will order our steps so that we are victorious as we come out on the other side. God is my strength and refuge, he is my safe tower that I can run into and be saved!

  30. 8 Then the officers shall add, “Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened too.”
This is eye opening to me because we have a choice here. When we face difficult situations we have the power to either face our fear, or let fear consume us. Every single one of us has a responsibility not only to God but also to the body. Since we are part of the body of Christ it’s important to think before we act because every action has a reaction, and that action or decision impacts those around us. I don’t want to be one that is fainthearted- weak. I want to be able to be strong enough to make a positive impact on other people’s lives. I chose to live for Jesus so that when difficult times come I can give Jesus. Lord guide us and help us to build each other up, and always remember to react in a positive way because others are counting on us.

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:16
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

  31. For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

5 And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

6 And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.

  32. Deuteronomio 20:1

GLORIA A DIOS !!

  33. “When you prepare for battle, the priest must come forward to speak to the troops. He will say to them, ‘Listen to me, all you men of Israel! Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When Israel was obedient, and trusting in God, they could never lose. But when they were disobedient, or not trusting, they could never win – even if they had superior forces.

  34. ““When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you! When you prepare for battle, the priest must come forward to speak to the troops. 42. The mindset of battle

Back in the day when I would fight, I knew my mind had to be clear. If I had something on my mind I would most of the time get caught with a punch I wasn’t expecting or get tripped up easily. When I would fight with a clear mind I fought well. This is what they were doing in this chapter. Before they could assign leadership over the troops, they had to make sure that the minds of the soldiers were clear. They sorted out all the excuses they could think of and sent them away with distracted minds. Those that were focused on the battle would remain and go fight. When we are distracted by the world we are in the way of the army of God. Cast down imaginations, put every thought into subjugation, put on the mind of Christ all these scriptures are getting us ready for battle. We can’t go into this final battle of the end time with a distracted mind. Let us put on the whole armor of God which includes the Helmet of Salvation, protecting our minds first know and assured that we are saved. Focus the battle awaits.

  43. Lord thy God is with thee; let not your hearts faint, fear not, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us (JESUS)

    Deuteronomy 20:1 KJV
[1] When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

    Deuteronomy 20:4 KJV
[4] For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

    Deuteronomy 20:20 KJV
[20] Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.

And today we have HIM INSIDE of us through the HOLY GHOST

    1 John 4:4 KJV
[4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

    2 Corinthians 7:15 KJV
[15] And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

    2 Corinthians 7:16 KJV
[16] I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

    Hebrews 9:15 KJV
[15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

  44. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

It is a comforting feeling to know that the Lord is on your side. To know that you have done the will of God is fulfilling. There are things that by nature may intimidate, or cause one to fear, but if the Lord is on your side and has given you the green light all it takes is a step of faith. Do your small part and He will take care of the battle for you. God can do a lot more with a willing and obedient vessel.

  45. Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt

V.4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord are gone.

    Amen!!!

  46. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

He is with you through all your battles… We forget this and try to fight battles by ourselves. We over and over again think that things are greater then we are and become scared and lonely. We tend to confront ourselves more then we do our enemy. Lonely and defeated…We question ourselves, why are you so weak, why are you not brave enough, smart enough, tough enough? We too often forget that he is enough…

  47. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

There is no reason to fear for God is here to fight for us. He has sent us into the region of Fort Worth to make war and He will protect us and guide us. Some may not make it out of the battle but the reward that is in Heaven is greater than the war here on earth.

  48. ““When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We should never be afraid because God is always with us. It’s a blessing to know that no matter how big the giant may be our God is greater and stronger. No matter what God is always with us and will always be a comfort.

“Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  49. “The officers will then continue, “And is there a man here who is wavering in resolve and afraid? Let him go home right now so that he doesn’t infect his fellows with his timidity and cowardly spirit.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Fear is contagious, it has the ability to infect all of those around you. It’s deadly, it can make you freeze and keep you from moving forward. Fear is so powerful that they would literally give an out to any man that feared fighting in battle in order to avoid tampering the faith and unity the army shared. Don’t allow your fear to send you home without fight. Instead, absorb the faith and unity from those around you and allow it to drive you further with God.

  50. 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Be not afraid. Don’t be afraid. The Lord has has not given us a spirit of fear.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

Be sure to have a priest in your life. He cannot speak into your life if you do not keep him as an authority in your life. Look unto him when you are needing a word. In keeping him an authority in your life, it is more than just showing up to church, but also keeping your spirit right with him to always be able to receive the word.

    3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;
4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

Again, fear not. Don’t be afraid. God is fighting for us.

  51. “When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is with you. This same God that brought you out of Egypt. The same God that split the Red Sea. The same God that provided food and water. The same God that gave the protection by day and night. The same God that spoke with Moses and gave the law. With all they had been through, why should they be afraid?

  52. 4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

    Hallelujah!!

    Praise the Lord our God!!!

  53. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’
    Deuteronomy 20:4 NLT

If you let it, fear can get the best of you but if you trust in the Lord He has already given us the victory. The key is to trust.

  54. ““When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!”(‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:1NLT)

When we head out onto the battle field we should boldly know that we aren’t alone for our God is with us. (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬)“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. We must have a clear mind in order to know that when we walk out of our house we know that we are held up by the hands of God and that he will bring us out of anything.

  55. 2When you prepare for battle, the priest must come forward to speak to the troops. 3He will say to them, ‘Listen to me, all you men of Israel! Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. 4For the LORD your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’

When we do battle spiritually, God is with you. Don’t be intimidated or have fear. God will do the fighting for you, and you’ll be free of the enemy.
