Deuteronomy 21

If one be found slain in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:

Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:

And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;

And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer’s neck there in the valley:

And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the Lordthy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the Lord; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:

And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:

And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.

Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.

10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lordthy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,

11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;

12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;

13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.

14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.

15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:

16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:

17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

    Lord Jesus thank you for your redeeming blood, Without it I will still be running around and around on this crazy world with no hope.

  2. 18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

    19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    God takes the obedience of children and the discipline of them very seriously.

  3. 20. And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    Ephesians 6:
    1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

    2 . thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

    3. That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

    -This could be where parents got the saying, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it!”

  4. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.

    Hebrews 4:16
    Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

    “On Cal’vry’s hill of sorrow
    Where sin’s demands were paid,
    And rays of hope for tomorrow
    Across our path were laid.
    I see a crimson stream of blood,
    It flows from Calvary,
    Its waves which reach the throne of God,
    Are sweeping over me”

    Thank you Jesus for your innocent blood that you shed to pay for sins!

  5. Deut 21: 20 [Amp] And they shall say to the elders of his city , This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.
    [ Prov 23 : 20 -22] Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp shall be out out in complete darkness.
    [21] An inheritance hastily gotten [ greedy, unjust means] at the beginning, in the end it will not be blessed.
    [22] Do not say, I will repay evil ; wait [ expectantly] for the Lord, and He will rescue you.
    We don’t need to be stubborn, We need to be obeintant and submissive to the Lord commands. Kingdom First.

  6. Deuteronomy 21:22-23
    22) And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death; and thou hang him on a tree:
    23) His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

    Galatians 3:13-14 came to mind as I read this.
    13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
    14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

    Thank You JESUS that you Redeemed us, saved us and rescued us, from the curse of the law. Thank You that we Gentiles can partake of the promise of the Spirit through faith.

    Thank You JESUS for dying on the Cross (for taking our place) and shedding Your Blood for us. Thank You that we can Repent, be Baptized in Your Name, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, and live a Victorious life in you.

    Thank You JESUS for ALL You’ve done for me!!

  7. O Lord , forgive your people Israel whom you have redeemed. Do not charge your people with the guilt of murdering an innocent person.’ Then they will be absolved of the guilt of this person’s blood.
    Deuteronomy 21:8 NLT

    There’s always a chance for redemption if we are obedient. God wants His people to live holy unto Him – purge away sin and unrighteousness and follow Him according to His Word!

Verses 8-9 NKJV “Provide atonement, O Lord, for Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed, and do not lay innocent blood to the charge of Your people Israel.’ And atonement shall be provided on their behalf for the blood. So you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.” God always provides a way for us, when we do what is right in His sight. Things may come across our path that we don’t even realize has either rubbed off on us or is influencing us in a negative matter and we must be alert to stay clear from such things.

  9. 19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
    20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    If we did this today then there would be hardly any youth!!! Better yet i would have been murdered in my teens and of course would’ve never known what privilege it was to be a mother,,,, GOD’S MERCY!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

    We have to train our children before the Lord. If the father and the mother do not teach in love and only chastise constantly without direction or guidance, then there will be rebellion. We have to as the scripture tells us to train up a child, for when he is old he shall not depart from them. When a child becomes old enough to be held accountable then we have to trust them to make the right choices.

    We have to continue to pray for them before God, and hope that they will continue to follow the paths that the Lord has set before them. Rebellion will bring death as the scripture stated this morning. We can only hope that by the grace and mercy of God that the child will heed the voices of their parents and God. It’s time to live Jesus for them so that as we give them Jesus, they can in turn give Jesus to others.

  12. The parents must say to the elders, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious and refuses to obey. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his town must stone him to death. In this way, you will purge this evil from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid.

    I’m wondering if we still had this policy to live by, would there be as many issues in the world today with out of control children and even our prison systems maxed out because adults never get a grip on themselves??? It seems harsh to do that to someone, but you look at our society and the punishment and justice system is not as severe as other countries and so our crime rate is ridiculous…. God puts statutes in place for a reason. Its normal for a child to push the limits to see what all they can get away with, but when you have clearly defined boundaries most children (and even adults) will come to respect those boundaries and live peacefully within them.

    God has always set in place redemption for the innocent. Well this chapter covers different topics they are all and some form about redemption or Mercy

  14. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    Innocent blood, today we see this everyday, and what we should do is pray. Pray for our children being murder daily, for the government that are allowing it, and for the lack of morals of our nations!! May God have mercy on our land!

  15. iLove Jesus
    Deu 21:23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

    Jesus fulfilled this scripture by becoming a curse for us to remove the curse from us.

    Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

    This is yet another reason why Jesus cried out, “Father why hast thou forsaken me”. He was cursed and forsaken so that we might be forgiven and accepted.

    18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

    19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    I am so thankful that we are redeemed from the curse of the law by the work of Jesus on the cross for us. We no longer have to fear that God wants to curse us, He wants to bless us, not because of who we are, or what we have done, but because of what Jesus Christ has done on our behalf.

  18. Deuteronomy 21
    6. And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:

    Is this where we get our cliche “I wash my hands of it”.
    Even Pilate used this term when Jesus was brought forth before him. He did not want to be a part of making the decision about Jesus Christ There were laws set down that had to be filled the priests and the elders were the court room jury …thank God today Jesus Christ has made the atonement for sin.
    Thank God for His love and sacrifice for each of us…

  19. 21:22 if a man have committed a sin worthy of sin
    And he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree

    A sin? What sin? Worthy of death? Sinless, pure, holy, all powerful,all knowing🙌
    That at the nene of Jesus
    Every knee shall bow, and
    Every tongue shall confess
    That Jesus is Lord.
    ——-
    Oh death, where is your sting?

  20. 5 The Levitical priests shall step forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister and to pronounce blessings in the name of the Lord and to decide all cases of dispute and assault.

    Our Lord your God has chosen us. To be leaders and to be leaders. God has chosen us to minister to othes. And to declare blessings over others.

  21. “O Lord, forgive your people Israel whom you have redeemed. Do not charge your people with the guilt of murdering an innocent person.’ Then they will be absolved of the guilt of this person’s blood. By following these instructions, you will do what is right in the Lord’s sight and will cleanse the guilt of murder from your community.”

    It’s easy to get caught up in things of the past. The enemy will try his best to use your mistakes you’ve made before your relationship with Christ. As I was ministering to someone yesterday they began to tel me all the wrong they’ve done and how the enemy tries to get in their head and says “you can never live for God with everything you’ve done.” The bottom line is for that particular individual they have to want a full Chrysalis. They’re gonna have to let Go and let God. Because that’s exactly what God wants you to do he wants you to let go of the things you’ve done in the past and he wants to wash them with his pure and innocent blood. Then ye shall be made whole.
    Give it to Jesus
    It all belongs to Jesus
    Your victory belongs to Jesus

    A persons that is always questions our ways or just continually controversial is not someone God wants us to be around and in contact with. He says here as a sign of leaving that person in their past they would wash their hands in the blood of a heifer! Signifying that they were washing their hands of the person in particular. When we come up against continual unbridled controversy and issues with a certain person, we should wash our hands of them. They do not want to learn or be taught our ways, they simply want to cause confusion and disunity. That would be the work against God. Be careful who you befriend and who you seek after.

    9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.

    And in turning and continually doing right in the sight of the Lord, it will help put the guilt of the innocent blood.

  23. AMP – 9 So shall you remove the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

    There are so many benefits that come from living for the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. When we become a child of God, we not only have an advocate with the Father when we fall, but we also have great benefits when we do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

    Proverbs 16:7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

  24. Grace, grace…

    18-21 When a man has a stubborn son, a real rebel who won’t do a thing his mother and father tell him, and even though they discipline him he still won’t obey, his father and mother shall forcibly bring him before the leaders at the city gate and say to the city fathers, “This son of ours is a stubborn rebel; he won’t listen to a thing we say. He’s a glutton and a drunk.” Then all the men of the town are to throw rocks at him until he’s dead. You will have purged the evil pollution from among you. All Israel will hear what’s happened and be in awe.

    I wonder what our society would look like today if we still lived under the law? I wonder if I would still be alive? I cant get away from the lyrics of this song. It popped into my head as soon as I read this section of the chapter.

    Marvelous grace of our loving Lord
    Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
    Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured
    There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled
    Grace, grace, God’s grace
    Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
    Grace, grace, God’s grace
    Grace that is greater than all our sin
    Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace
    Freely bestowed on all who believe!

  25. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    If your obedient to the word of God there will always be a redemption chance for you. God wants to help us spread his love and his word and take away evil.

  26. 5 The Levitical priests shall step forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister and to pronounce blessings in the name of the Lord and to decide all cases of dispute and assault. 6 Then all the elders of the town nearest the body shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley, 7 and they shall declare: “Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it done. 8 accept this atonement for your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, Lord, and do not hold your people guilty of the blood of an innocent person.” Then the bloodshed will be atoned for, 9 and you will have purged from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
    I believe that redemption and leadership work together hand and hand. If anything reading this chapter makes me appreciate even more everything Jesus sacrificed for us on the cross. It also helps me appreciate our leaders before us,” for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister and to pronounce blessings in the name of the Lord and to decide all cases of dispute and assault. Leaders have a responsibility to fulfill with God and having that responsibility is not always easy because we are called to continually do right in the sight of the Lord no matter the case. At times the people we help may or may not appreciate or understand what is being done for them but our true responsibility, however is not to the person who needs our help but to the Lord.

  27. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    PRAYER OF GODS PEOPLE

    8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    The REDEEMED of the LORD have much to be thankful for. Faithfully praying for the Mercy of the LORD is a privilege of GODs People. We pray for Mercy in our lives, seeing that we are living in a real world with high levels of temptation and carnality. When we fall prey to these sinful forces, we stand in need of the Mercy of GOD.

    We PRAY for the mercy of GOD so that we are not charged with the punishment of sin. HIS Mercy endureth forever and we should approach the application of Mercy wisely and reverently.

    Proverbs 15
    20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

    Children are to obey their parents first which establishes their respect for other figures of authority in their lives and ultimately respect and obedience to God. It starts in the home. If parents fail to teach and expect obedience from their children, it might well carry over into their schools, with their employers and even into their spiritual lives.

  29. 15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:

    16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:

    17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning portion of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

    So Ishmael was promised to be made “a great nation”. Genesis 21:18

    Thank you Jesus for breaking the curse and freeing us all from sin. Jesus wants us all to be saved and none left behind. Lord help me obey your commandments daily and to reach those who are lost!!! Give me the wisdom and guidance Lord!! Thank you for your precious blood!!!

  31. “In such a case, your elders and judges must measure the distance from the site of the crime to the nearby towns. When the nearest town has been determined, that town’s elders must select from the herd a heifer that has never been trained or yoked to a plow. They must lead it down to a valley that has not been plowed or planted and that has a stream running through it. There in the valley they must break the heifer’s neck. Then the Levitical priests must step forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister before him and to pronounce blessings in the Lord’s name. They are to decide all legal and criminal cases. “The elders of the town must wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken. Then they must say, ‘Our hands did not shed this person’s blood, nor did we see it happen.”

    “Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!””

  32. A father and a mother may have a stubborn and rebellious son who refuses to obey them even after he has been punished. If a son is like that, his parents must drag him to the town gate, where the leaders of the town hold their meetings. The parents will tell the leaders, “This son of ours is stubborn and never obeys. He spends all his time drinking and partying.” The men of the town will stone that son to death, because they must get rid of the evil he brought into the community. Everyone in Israel will be afraid when they hear how he was punished.

    And nowadays there are parents that refuse to discipline their children. They allow them to walk all over them, becoming their ‘best friend’ and giving them all that their hearts desire. Oh Jesus help to come together to raise our children to reverence you at all times.

    Disgraceful children rob their father and chase their mother away.
    Proverbs 19:26 CEV

  33. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    Because of His cleansing blood, you are never too far from redemption! You find it by doing what is right in the sight of the Lord!

  35. By following these instructions, you will do what is right in the Lord ’s sight and will cleanse the guilt of murder from your community. the body must not remain hanging from the tree overnight. You must bury the body that same day, for anyone who is hung is cursed in the sight of God. In this way, you will prevent the defilement of the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession.

    When someone Needs God then that means they need God … Doesn’t matter if the person is lost, hurt, wicked they need Jesus the love of Jesus for there souls I believe .. is to give God glory and honor

  36. 6 And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley: 7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

    Instead of conducting an investigation, they know that God knows and sees all things. He wants us to still be accountable and show responsibility over that which he has given to us. The Israelites that inhabit this land are given the opportunity to look after it. When someone drops dead and no one saw it happen. The spilled blood still needs to be brought to restitution. The closest clan to the site of the deceased becomes the responsible party to conduct this sacrifice. The purpose is to wash their hands of the slain man to be redeemed. Ultimately, they do this to seek forgiveness even though they did not commit the murder themselves. We could learn from them to seek forgiveness instead of excuses.

  37. Deuteronomio 21 22-23

    *”Porque maldito por Dios es el colgado”
    El castigo de ser colgado del madero, y ser expuesto, era considerado muy severo, y estos eran considerados “malditos por Dios.”

    * Pablo nos dice que Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, hecho por nosotros maldición “porque está escrito: Maldito todo el que es colgado en un madero, para que en Cristo Jesús la bendición de Abraham alcanzase a los gentiles, a fin de que por la fe recibiésemos la promesa del Espíritu”

    *Jesús no solamente murió en nuestro lugar; sino que Él también tomó el lugar del maldito por Dios, siendo colgado del madero para vergüenza y denigración publica. Él recibió esta maldición, la cual nosotros merecíamos pero Él no. Y esto es para que nosotros pudiéramos recibir la bendición prometida a Abram

    * Somos redimidos de la maldición de la ley por medio de la obra de Jesús en la cruz por nosotros. Ya no tememos que temer de que Dios quiera maldecirnos; sino que Él quiere bendecirnos, no por quien somos nosotros, o por lo que hemos hecho, sino por lo que Cristo Jesús ha hecho de nuestra parte .

  38. In this chapter at one point it talked about our elders. We should always respect and have a privilege for our elders. We will always want to be respectful to others and our elders

  39. “O Lord, forgive your people Israel whom you have redeemed. Do not charge your people with the guilt of murdering an innocent person.’ Then they will be absolved of the guilt of this person’s blood.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    This Scripture means that, people shouldn’t kill other people and that is a commandment from the Lord our God.

  40. When I was young I was taught to respect your elders. I knew better also not to argue with my parents. Learn respect in a young age so it should be applied as an adult. We should also be obedient to God and respectful. We should follow our Lord’s commandments as well.

  41. In such a case, the father and mother must take the son to the elders as they hold court at the town gate.
    Deuteronomy 21:19 NLT

    When we encounter problems that we can not handle, it is always best to seek council with a wise elder.

    9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.

  43. Deuteronomy Chapter 21
    talks about certain laws in the new land that the Lord has given the Israelites to possess. If a man is found dead in a field and the killer is not known, the elders are to measure the distance of the body from the neighboring towns.

  44. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
    9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
    His mercy continues to be with us today! What a wonderful blessing and mighty love God has for us. Thank you Jesus for redeeming us, now we can Live Jesus and Give Jesus!

    9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord….

  46. 18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

    19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    To be stubborn and rebellious can cost your life. It is no joke. Yes God is great in mercy and is slow to anger but after so many attempts of correction and one still doesn’t listen then he is left to the fate of his life.

  47. No room for rebelliousness

    18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

    19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    God doesn’t play around with rebellion. It has to be cut off quickly. There is no room for it in the Kingdom.

  48. 10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lordthy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,

    We have to remember, we HAVE the VICTORY!

  49. “If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated: Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭21:15-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The promise is not contingent on who is the favorite. The promise is given because of birth right. When we are born into the kingdom we receive a new birth right in Jesus.

    I’m thankful for the mercy of God. He resembled us for the enemy and now we are able to live in abundance in the Kingdom. It would take millions of lifetimes of thanking Him

  51. God had certain rules for his people to follow. He still has rules today that we must follow. We cannot allow the things of this world to turn us away from God. Let’s lift him up and give him the praise due to his name.

  52. ““Suppose you go out to war against your enemies and the Lord your God hands them over to you, and you take some of them as captives.(‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭21:10‬ ‭NLT)

    We need to work that brain muscle in our minds to remind ourselves that we have the Victory.! Its already been taken care of for us by God so no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper.!!

  53. 8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
    9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 

    10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 

    11 Give us this day our daily bread, 

    12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 

    13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
    We must always ask for forgiveness, even if we were not the offender.

  54. “By following these instructions, you will do what is right in the Lord’s sight and will cleanse the guilt of murder from your community.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭21:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Rules are rewarding. They protect us and keep our testimonies pure.

    Like the scripture says following instructions will keep you doing right in the Lords eyes!

  55. 18-21 When a man has a stubborn son, a real rebel who won’t do a thing his mother and father tell him, and even though they discipline him he still won’t obey, his father and mother shall forcibly bring him before the leaders at the city gate and say to the city fathers, “This son of ours is a stubborn rebel; he won’t listen to a thing we say. He’s a glutton and a drunk.” Then all the men of the town are to throw rocks at him until he’s dead. You will have purged the evil pollution from among you. All Israel will hear what’s happened and be in awe.

    Thank you Jesus for your Mercy!
    How many of us would not be alive today if not for your mercy and grace!

    Keep your mind focused on him and all will fall in place. When we are doing the will of the lord we don’t have to worry about anything.

    Whew!!! And people want to holler and shout because others still believe in spanking! Spanking is far less worse than death! Perhaps death is also what we put ourselves through when we decide to disobey the things God has told us to do, we end up choosing momentary pleasure and death over a life of blessings and favor.

  58. 19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

    There’s a boundary that’s crossed when the parents of a individual drag a person to the elders to get stoned and put to death. I believe that the reason why this generation deals with this particular issue so much, because kids know they can get away with it.

    I’m absolutely sure that the parents did this out of love for Gods commands. They were fearful of bringing evil into Gods people. It was also an incentive to make young responsible.
