Deuteronomy 23

He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:

Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.

Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.

The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the Lord in their third generation.

When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.

10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:

11 But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.

12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:

13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:

14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

15 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:

16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.

17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:

20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the Lordthy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

24 When thou comest into thy neighbour’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.

  1. 5Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee. 6Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

    The greatest attribute of God is that he is going to love us unconditionally. He will bless us beyond measures as long as we keep his commandments and do them. It is simple obedience and the understandings of the word of God. As long as we face the world, as long as the enemy continues to try to derail our progress in both the kingdom of God and our relationship with him, he will take all that is intended to be a curse or even meant for harm against us, my God is able to turn all that around and mean it for blessing and good for us.

    He will turn our mourning into dancing and we will be safely in the hands of a graceful and merciful God. He will destroy our enemies. We that make the choice to live for God, we have that strong tower that we can run into and be safe. In the very present time of trouble he is our help. I have come to a simple solution, if he was willing to die for us and shed his blood for a ransom that really was not his, then I can live for him without an agenda. I must give my all to him since he gave his all. That way I can truly give Jesus to the hopeless and the face the wickedness of the untoward generation.

    “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”

    “I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.”

    “Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”

    What a mighty God I serve He turns my Enemy curse into a blessing, because He Loves me Oh what a mighty God I serve.

For the Lord your God demands that you promptly fulfill all your vows, or you will be guilty of sin. However, it is not a sin to refrain from making a vow. But once you have voluntarily made a vow, be careful to fulfill your promise to the Lord your God.”

    Breaking of an oath is just standard business practice in this world but before God, it is simply sin. A vow before God is no small thing. God commanded that Israel should be careful to keep its vows and to fulfill every oath made, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin to you.

  4. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE VALUE OF MY VOW

    21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

    LIVE JESUS. Consider the value JESUS placed on HIS VOW to man. Man could not deter HIM, pain could not deter HIM, position could not deter HIM, riches could not deter HIM. JESUS Valued HIS Vow to GOD and Man more than all of these.

    But, what do we allow to come between us and our Vow. A headache, a stomach ache, a big check, a chance for promotion, family visiting, a sleepy head, a broken heart or a busy life.

    The truth is we do not Value our Vows as JESUS did. We could, but this world and its systems challenge us greatly in this area.

    At The POFW we make Discipleship Vows, Leadership Vows, Ministry Vows, Missions Vows and Building Fund Vows and all of these come with temptation to break.

    We LIVE JESUS through our Vows. These are intended to be laws to live by, but guides to protect our relationship with HIM and each other. GOD kept HIS Vow to man and now it is up to man to keep our Vow to GOD.

    The VALUE OF MY VOW is HIGH. Higher than riches, Higher than position, Higher than comfort, Higher than possessions.

    THE VALUE OF MY VOW is iSeek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD.

    God remembers the way folks treats us and rewards them accordingly. Just like when Jesus says, “What you’ve done to the least of these, you have done unto me.”

    This is why God has had so much patience with the USA. We have been a friend to Israel and also we have spread the Gospel.

    Isaiah 54:
    15. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

    Genesis 50:
    20. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

  7. 14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee

    The battles not mine but the Lord’s! Who could love us so much that He laid down His life so that we could go free! Every battle belongs to to Him, if only we would trust Him to surrender our will to Him!

  8. Deut. [23 : 24-25 [Amp] When you come into your neighbor’s vineyard, yoy may eat your full of grapes, as many as you please, But you shall not put any in your vessel.
    [25] When you come into the standing grain of your neighbor, you may pluck the ears with your hand, But you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor’s,grain.
    Come and eat, But don’t take advantage of them, and eat to much. Make coversation with them let tell you there testimony and them tell yours. Teach a Bible study.
    Prov. 2 : 6 ] For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Praise God for his grace and mercy.

  9. Deuteronomy 23:21-23
    21) When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
    22) But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
    23) That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

    These scriptures made me think of Ecclesiastes 5:4-6
    4) When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou has vowed.
    5) Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
    6) Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

    Simply put: When you make a vow (a solemn promise), keep it, because if you don’t, it becomes a sin in you.

  10. The camp must be holy, for the Lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you.
    Deuteronomy 23:14 NLT

    When attacks start coming, the first thing we should check is ourselves. Is “my camp” holy? Is there anything shameful within me? Keep us and sanctify us Lord, we just want more of You.

  11. Verse 14 CEV “You must keep your camp clean of filthy and disgusting things. The Lord is always present in your camp, ready to rescue you and give you victory over your enemies. But if he sees something disgusting in your camp, he may turn around and leave.” We must keep anything or anyone from defiling our camp. God can and will give you the victory over whatever the enemy means for evil, God will turn it into a blessing. We must be alert, keep our vows before the Lord, giving Him all honor and all glory.

  12. An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:
    4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

    If no one has your back God while you’re back. If it’s one thing I’ve learned in all my years of walking with Christ is that God will take care of my needs even if no one well help me. And if someone speaks against me that I do not have to seek vengeance or revenge and I don’t even have to have to have a grudge against them because the Lord will be the judge and take care of that. It’s not because we are so esoteric to be able to thank God we’ll just condemn anyone who hurts us it is that we are the children of God and anyone who has ill intent and seeks to hurt us God will protect us from.

  13. Deuteronomy 23:
    the Assembly
    People who are excluded from the assembly are those who have been emasculated. Those who were born of a marriage that is considered forbidden also cannot enter the assembly. Their descendants, up to the tenth generation, are also excluded. Ammonites and Moabites also cannot enter the assembly, up to their tenth generation. The Lord told them that they are not to despise Edomites or Egyptians.

    Purities and Impurities
    The third generation of children born from these people can enter the assembly.
    The Israelites were told to stay away from all impure things when they are encamped against their enemies. Any man who is found to be impure because of nocturnal emissions should go far from the camp. He may return after washing himself, just before sunset.

    They were to create a space in the camp where they can relieve themselves. They needed something that they could dig with and something to cover their excrement. They were told that the Lord moves about in the camp to deliver them from their enemies, therefore it must be a holy place and any indecent thing should be turned from.

    Miscellaneous Laws
    Under the miscellaneous laws, Deuteronomy chapter 23 says that if a slave has sought refuge with an Israelite, they must not be oppressed. They must be able to live among you or in whichever town they choose. Any earnings of a male or female prostitute must not be taken in the house of the Lord. This is detested by God.

    If anyone were to make a vow to the Lord, he must not be slow to repay it. The Lord will demand you of it and you will be guilty of sin. No man must charge their fellow Israelite with interest, whether for money or for food.

  14. 21“When you make a vow to the Lord your God, be prompt in fulfilling whatever you promised him. For the Lord your God demands that you promptly fulfill all your vows, or you will be guilty of sin.

    When we make a vow to the Lord our God be committed to accomplishing the vow you said to the Lord your God. If we are not committed to the vow that we had promised to the Lord our God we can cost ourselves a lot of troubled with sin that why must be committed and faithful to our vows.

    Because of His love, what the enemy meant for evil, God is going to use for our good!

    “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

    Oh, how He loves us!

  16. We can partake of thy brother’s or sister’s blessing but we cannot take advantage!!! I have seen with my own eyes that when some people get invited to go to dinner or to breakfast, they get the most expensive plate available cause they dont have to pay and that is taking advantage when theh were ordered water but since they found out they weren’t going to pay for their meal so they order a drink too. LOL!!! i feel bad for the person that gets taken advantage of, but i feel even worse for the person that took advantage of their brother, GOD SEES ALL THINGS!!! Makes you wonder if they know that GOD sees, especially when at the table they are talking about GOD but savoring, devouring and enjoying how they just took advantage of others…..

    Remember the charge
    We are to fast BEFORE the war read this quick passage
    “After this, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunites declared war on Jehoshaphat. Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army from Edom is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea. They are already at Hazazon-tamar.” (This was another name for En-gedi.) Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting.”

    These were charged to fast as soon as the threat would come but in our secular carnal minds that doesn’t make sense because we need strength to fight right? Wrong! When it’s a battle only the Lord can handle we fast, fasting is a sign of humility getting rid of less of you so more of him can be manifested through you. If I want that to happen I’m gonna consecrate myself to be solely with the Lord to keep myself separate from anything else that tries to weasel its way into my spirit. When you fast your flesh is weak that’s why we separate ourselves. We stay away from impure things. Then it’s Gods fight. Fasting is another way of saying “Ok God I’m stepping aside and I’m giving you full and absolute control”

    Remember the charge!

    We should be careful to keep our homes holy before the Lord and allow no unclean thing into them.

    Our camp is not only our bodies, it is our homes. What is in our hearts and minds as well as objects in our homes can make it unclean. A message was preached years ago about the MANY things that we could have in our homes and it was a real eye opener! Books, music and so much more!

  21. ‘No one born to an unmarried woman can join in worship with the Lord ’s people. That also applies to the person’s children for all time to come. ‘
    Deuteronomy 23:2

    Another reminder that our choices affect not only ourselves but the ones we love, the friends we have, and all those around us.

  22. Deuteronomy 23
    21 “When you make a [d]vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for He will most certainly require it of you, and a delay would cause you to sin. 22 But if you refrain from making a vow, that would not be [counted as] sin in you. 23 You shall be careful to perform that [vow] which passes your lips, just as you have made a voluntary vow to the Lord your God, just as you have promised with your own words (mouth).

    Vows are very important. When you have promised to do something that is a vow. God says it’s better not to make a vow than to break it. Vows are not a demand they are something that you choose to make.
    If you have made a promise why would you break the promise . If you say you love the Lord with all your heart and make promises to Him why break them?
    The character of a person can usually be found in keeping a vow. Habitually breaking a promise can flaw your character. Could it mark you as a liar deceptive and undependable. Is this the character we want portrayed to the world.let alone God. God says it becomes sin when you don’t keep it. Will there be times we break a promise ? Probably so why not consider every aspect of the vow you are making . Gods promises are sure can we not keep the ones we have made to Him. Can we lead others by keeping our word . I pray so……Just remember there will be situations and people whom try to distract you from fulfilling a vow it happens all the time Seek you first the Kingdom of God . I must seek Him first as my commitment my promise I cannot allow anything to come between me and my vow . Take it to heart vows are worth keeping.

    Ecclesiastes 5:4

    When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.

    This verse took me way back to the times my mom would come and look in my room and check to see if I had really done what I said, and cleaned it. God just wants the best for us and is making us accountable. God is a holy God and He demands us to be holy just like him. I never want Him to turn me away for being unacceptable in His eyes. I am thankful for that special presence of observation in my life, because as it is written many are called but very few are chosen to enter His kingdom.

    I’m sure we have all heard the saying “Say what you mean and mean what you say.” Or “A man/women of their word.” This a must when making a vow to God. If there’s any doubt it’s best that we wouldn’t make the vow in the first place.

  25. 23:11 but it shall be, when evening comets on, he shall wash himself with water, and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.

    Isn’t it beautiful that if we get dirty , we don’t have to wait to get clean?
    Here it says they must be clean to get I to the Camp…
    All right, we must be clean ALL THE TIME!!! Everywhere we go, for God is Omnipresent and righteous.
    Clean mind
    Clean heart
    Clean hands
    Clean body.
    But thanks be to God , who is ready to forgive us and cleans us from every thing right away.

  26. 14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

    The importance of keeping our heart and mind pure – if we defile our temple, then the Lord cannot and will not dwell in a temple that is defiled. We must continually cleanse ourselves from all unrighteousness.
    16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

    17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

    18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

    19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

    20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

    21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

    23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

    24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

    25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

    I had to look up the meaning of unsury. Interest at unreasonable prices is not something to give to your brother, friend, etc. To strangers it is fine to charge them unreasonably, but not to those close to you. Which would make sense. It almost goes hand in hand with Proverbs 18:24a, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: . . . “

    God loves us unconditionally.

  29. 7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.

    Thou wast a stranger — And didst receive habitation, protection and provision from them a long time, which kindness thou must not forget for their following persecution. It is ordinary with men, that one injury blots out the remembrance of twenty courtesies; but God doth not deal so with us, nor will he have us to deal so with others, but commands us to forget injuries, and to remember kindnesses.
    We must remember to forgive and forget the wrong anyone has done to us. It’s is so easy for us to block that out, but it will always be there to remind you of the wrong people have done to you. Live JESUS, Give JESUS

  30. 5 Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.

  31. 9 When you are encamped against your enemies, keep away from everything impure. NIV

    When we make our flesh die daily, it’s a lot easier to keep away from impure things. The Holy Ghost steps in and keeps us from making fleshly choices.

  32. Deuteronomio 23 :21 -23
    “Cuando haces voto a Jehová tu Dios, no tardes en pagarlo; porque ciertamente lo demandará Jehová tu Dios de ti, y sería pecado en ti. Mas cuando te abstengas de prometer, no habrá en ti pecado. Pero lo que hubiere salido de tus labios, lo guardarás y lo cumplirás, conforme lo prometiste a Jehová tu Dios, pagando la ofrenda voluntaria que prometiste con tu boca.

    * “No tardes en pagarlo”
    Una promesa al Señor no es un asunto pequeño. Dios expresa específicamente que Israel debe asegurarse de cumplir sus promesas y cumplir cada voto, porque ciertamente lo demandará Jehová tu Dios de ti, y sería pecado en ti.

  33. 20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usery: but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usery: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

  34. 21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

    22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

    When you have made a vow to the Lord you have to commit to that vow that you have made. When you do not commit to that vow you have made to the Lord because you didn’t fully commit yourself to it it’s a sin that you created.

  35. We need to not let evil in our house or any unclean thing. They couldn’t let any unclean person into the camp nor should we today. This includes vulgarity on TV and keep our minds clean. We need to follow JESUS!!!

  36. You must keep your camp clean of filthy and disgusting things. The Lord is always present in your camp, ready to rescue you and give you victory over your enemies. But if he sees something disgusting in your camp, he may turn around and leave.
    Deuteronomy 23:14 CEV

    Nothing is ever hidden from the eyes of the LORD!
    There is a saying in Spanish ‘quiren tapar el sol con un dedo’ any person living in sin may think he can, but GOD sees all. What are we seeing, listening to, feeling, speaking etc? Stop hindering the LORD from dwelling in your home, your bedroom, in your car, at work, at night when your out and about.

  37. we lay down everything we can to the lord we put down our battles because he fights our battles and he solves our problems because he loves and takes care for us because we are his children.

  38. 8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the Lord in their third generation.

    10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:

  39. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

    A promise is a promise to God. If he said he was gonna bring you out then he’s gonna bring you out if he said he was gonna feel you then he is gonna feel you if he said he isn’t gonna heal you then he is gonna heal you

  40. 21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

    Y’all better be careful saying i swear to God or make promises you cant keep…

    14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

    The Lord walks among our homes to deliver you. He’s there to stomp out your enemies and to keep you safe and holy. Feels good to know God is always standing guard.

    John 9:39 KJV
    [39] And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

  42. 24 When thou comest into thy neighbour’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

    25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.

    Dont take advantage of your neighbor’s or friend’s generosity. Go ahead and take it if is offered to you but dont plunder their whole field if they only offered you one ear of corn.

  43. “No Ammonite or Moabite is to enter the congregation of GOD, even to the tenth generation, nor any of his children, ever. Those nations didn’t treat you with hospitality on your travels out of Egypt, and on top of that they also hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Mesopotamia to curse you. GOD, your God, refused to listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing—how GOD, your God, loves you! Don’t even try to get along with them or do anything for them, ever.”

    What comes around goes around. However, it’s not for us to take care of, God will always have our back and step in so it is not a reason to treat people poorly.

  44. Be fruitful and know who your daddy is

    1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

    2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

    The first verse is like the fig tree that Jesus cursed. If you cannot multiply then you go against everything that the Kingdom stands for. Go be fruitful and multiply was a command not a suggestion. Knowing your father is another essential in the Kingdom. Depart from me ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you. These were bastards in Gods eyes. A son that only comes to see his father when it is in his best interest or to see what he can get is not what the Kindgom is about. Relationship is the key.

  45. “Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭23:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    We call the world Egypt. We should not hate the world because we were once a stranger there. Not hating it doesn’t mean we long for it. It means that we should gather those from it whom like us were once enslaved by sin, but have found the eternal hope in Jesus.

  46. 21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

    22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

    The Lord takes it serious when you make a vow or sign a covenant before him. It is probably better not make a vow at all than to make one and not fulfill it. If you make a vow, be faithful and true to your words.

  47. 21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

    Our flesh and the world often down play the value of a vow. People go into marriage with ways to get out of the vows of marriage. They become a disciple with the intent of possibly falling back. The value of a vow is no longer high in society.

    Yet what does the Bible say? The Bible puts value on vows so we must do the same. We must be men and women of our Word and of THE WORD!

  48. 14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

    We need God to walk in midst of our situation. Our enemies don’t stand a chance when God gets involved. His power is far above any power you can imagine. In him is where our freedom lies.

  49. “You shall be careful to perform that [vow] which passes your lips, just as you have made a voluntary vow to the LORD your God, just as you have promised with your own words (mouth).”

    If you aren’t committed to what you are saying then don’t say it. God holds us responsible for what we say we are going to do. When you make a vow make sure you will be able to fulfill it. Be a man/woman of your word.

    ““Again, you have heard that it was said to the men of old, ‘YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT YOU SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD [as a religious duty].’ But I say to you, do not make an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God; or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet; or by Jerusalem, for it is THE CITY OF THE G REAT K ING. Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you are not able to make a single hair white or black. But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’ [a firm yes or no]; anything more than that comes from the evil one.”

  50. 5 But the LORD your God refused to listen to Balaam. He turned the intended curse into a blessing because the LORD your God loves you.

    No matter what you have been through in life, or if you feel non deserving, God will bless you. Don’t listen to others, but turn to prayer.
