Deuteronomy 27

And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:

And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the Lordthy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,

12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:

13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14 And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

  3. Verses 8-10 MSG “Write all the words of this Revelation on the stones. Incise them sharply. Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel: Quiet. Listen obediently, Israel. This very day you have become the people of God, your God. Listen to the Voice of God, your God. Keep his commandments and regulations that I’m commanding you today.” Incise: engrave, etch, carve, cut, chisel, inscribe…it says sharply….get it in there and then be quiet, listen to the Voice of God and do it obediently. You just might miss something if you don’t 1) make it clear and 2) if your too busy talking.

    20. My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

    21. Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

    22. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

    23. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Carve it in stone, bind it upon your heart, tie it around your neck, whatever you need to do to keep the law constantly before you so that it can lead your every step.

  7. “‘Cursed is anyone who carves or casts an idol and secretly sets it up. These idols, the work of craftsmen, are detestable to the Lord.’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Cursed are those that have created an idol to worship in the presence of the King. Or any children of the Lord that bring forth and crate any idols.

If you are a leader and you don’t seek wisdom from God first, you’ll lead people that are depending upon your answers. If you don’t seek wisdom from God to lead the path who’s wisdom are you leading on? Yours? Lord I hope and pray I’ll reach and stretch out to you FIRST

  8. 10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

Keep His word and commandments in your heart so you may not sin against God.

  9. 6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

What are the best things you can ever do in your home is to build an altar. A Place that is consecrated and dedicated for the Lord. Alters serve multiple purposes, all of which are about casting away are flesh and drawing closer unto God. In the old testament, people were called for such dedication to prevent them from falling into the hands of enemies or serving idols. And alters so much more than just sacrificing animals it is a place to make atonement and to make peace.

  10. 24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Keep your hands and negative words to yourself. You cannot pretend to be positive when you’re in public and be negative in secret. That’s called a hypocrite. God wants us to lift our brothers and sisters up not try to put them down. There is strength in numbers and when we join together, we can do great things.

  11. 4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

When entering into our promise God says to build an altar, a place of worship and cover it in plaster meaning worship and sacrifice are to be a permanent part of our daily lives.

  12. Now Moses, with the elders of Israel, commanded the people, saying: “Keep all the commandments which I command you today. And it shall be, on the day when you cross over the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, that you shall set up for yourselves large stones, and whitewash them with lime. You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have crossed over, that you may enter the land which the LORD your God is giving you, ‘a land flowing with milk and honey,’ just as the LORD God of your fathers promised you. Therefore it shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that on Mount Ebal you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, and you shall whitewash them with lime. And there you shall build an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you shall not use an iron tool on them. You shall build with whole stones the altar of the LORD your God, and offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God. You shall offer peace offerings, and shall eat there, and rejoice before the LORD your God. And you shall write very plainly on the stones all the words of this law.”

  13. 1 Moses and the leaders of Israel said to the people, ‘Obey all these rules that I give to you today.
2 You will cross the River Jordan and go into the country that the Lord your God is giving to you. On that day, you must put some large stones on the ground and you must cover them with white paint.
    Deuteronomy 27:1‭-‬2 EASY
    https://bible.com/bible/2079/deu.27.1-2.EASY

We must obey what the Lord our God commands us to do. We must follow the rules the Lord has set for us. If we don’t follow the rules the Lord has set for us we are dishonoring the Lord our God. It is very important that we need to obey the Lord our God.

  14. 5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

Just because GOD blesses us DOES NOT MEAN that “WE HAVE ARRIVED” it’s not until DADDY says so, that we will receive our eternal reward!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  15. Listen to the voice of God

9-10 Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel: Quiet. Listen obediently, Israel. This very day you have become the people of God, your God. Listen to the Voice of God, your God. Keep his commandments and regulations that I’m commanding you today.

Do you expect God to speak to you? Expectation is the key to manifestation. We can hear His voice. We must make a decision to listen with a heart of expectation. It’s often when we’re worried, anxious or overwhelmed that we cry out to God to speak to us. We look for his voice for guidance when we need something. This is good and acceptable, but we need to practice hearing His voice when things are not so chaotic.

We miss out on hearing God’s voice because we seek His guidance only occasionally and usually when we’re going through a crisis or facing a major decision. Then, with a need to hear from God, we become confused and frustrated when we don’t hear what we are expecting. We start to wonder how or even if we can actually hear Gods voice.

We must make a habit of intentionally and expectantly listening for whatever God may want to tell us. It’s more important to become a person who listens regularly to God than it is to constantly ask God to give us things and guidance.

  16. 5 Build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them.

The Lord wants our full attention. He doesn’t want anything else to be more important than Him. Is there anything in this world that we are giving more importance to? We must seek Him daily and not let anything or anyone come before Him.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6

  17. 5And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. 6Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God: 7And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God. 8And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

When we build our altars before God, as Mose spoke to the children of Israel, you are to build them plainly. You are not to use anything that can contaminate your altar. You have to use whole stones not just bits and pieces. This was an illustration for us that we are not to give bits and pieces of our heart felt praise but to give our whole self in our praise.

As we give our offerings unto the Lord and as we give our sacrifices, nothing should be intended except a process of an unadulterated offering of everything we have and know that when we refer to the law of God, we should speak it plainly unto the Lord.

Paul stayed very clearly in 1 Corinthians 2:4-7
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

It’s about the specificity of Gods and not of us. With the power of the Holy Ghost we can live Jesus to give Jesus.

  18. 6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

Building a memorial unto the Lord – it is important that we always remember 1) where Jesus brought us from and 2) the many victories He has given us along the way, small or great.

The people were instructed to build the memorial and then rejoice. Building this memory bank and reminiscing over it occasionally is good for the soul. Yes we see the struggles we went through to get the victories, but that should build not only build our faith but give us stamina for whatever may still be charted for our course of life.

I’m guilty of not taking the time to rejoice over what God has done in my life. I simply am grateful that I made it through the test/trial and move on. However, just like a memory book of pictures of my children and accomplishments they made in their lives growing up, I believe a spiritual memory book would be beneficial in not only helping us see where Jesus brought us from but a tool to share with others to help build their faith and teach them to follow our example of rejoicing.

8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

  19. Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

Over and over again, the Lord repeatly instructed Moses and even wrote it out “plainly” for Moses to instruct the people the importance of obeying His commandments. I believe God did so because he knew we are hard-headed people, but we have no excuse… God’s Word is forevermore settled!

    2 Chronicles 30:8
Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

  20. 9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

The day they became God’s people is the day they agreed to obey his commands. They needed to know the things that caused them to be cursed as well as be blessed. We have expectations before us too…the same law, the same rules and the same God who desires all our worship.

  21. God’s commands are for our best interest. Just as we adults expect our children and grandchildren to do as we command them. So how effective is this if we can’t do what God commands. It starts at the top and trickles down!

  22. Amen! It’s not just another word than man came up with, as some people think.
“ It is biblical “ to respond 👉 amen.
…., amen( we believe it, we agree, that’s right, yes Lord! )

  23. ‘Cursed is anyone who carves or casts an idol and secretly sets it up. These idols, the work of craftsmen, are detestable to the Lord .’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
    Deuteronomy 27:15 NLT

Secretly or openly, a sin is still a sin; and all sins, including idol worship, are detestable to the Lord. Be careful of your priorities and insure that you keep Jesus and His Kingdom first in all areas of your life!

  24. 4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

When the people are to go over the Jordan river God wants for them to remember how they made it through. God miraculously allowed the priests to walk of dry land with the ark of the covenant through the Jordan river. He wants them to write the law clearly for anyone to see when the crossed over. These are to be a memorial for them of the goodness of their God. This is why they were to give a peace offering because once they receive their promise, the people should find peace that comes by the grace of our God.

  25. 1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

I love that when there are important decisions or announcements to be made, we will read that Moses was with the elders. In this case to present the commandments.

15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

When you normally hear “the Ten Commandments” you normally hear the , “Thou shall. . . “, “Thou shall. . . “, “Thou shall. . . “ rather than “Cursed be the man. . .” Cursed be the man is definitely more urgent. Especially in today’s society, where no one wants to be demanded to do anything, but rather given the option. It’s sad, but true.

  26. Deuteronomy 27

BUILDING AN ALTER IN THE PROMISED LAND

And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shall set up great stones, and plaster them with plaster: And though shall write upon them all the words of this law. Therefore when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones and thou shalt plaster them with plaster. And thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. Thou shalt build the alter of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God: And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God. And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly. And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes.

Each of our alters is special; and should be especially specially built before and to the Lord our God, in and before our promised land.

    Praise the Lord our God!!

    Hallelujah!!

  27. Deuteronomy 27:10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

John 15:10 If you keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s Commandments, and abide in his love.

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my Commandments.

  28. “When you cross the Jordan River and enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster. Write this whole body of instruction on them when you cross the river to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you—a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/deu.27.2-3.nlt

There was a reason it was a land flowing with milk and honey. There’s a reason living for God is so much better and without the commandments of the Lord and us following them the land would be no different than Egypt. God’s commandments is what makes it so good. Mans commandments and ways is the only reason we face all these horrid sins. Sins that leave scars on our hearts. So do yourself a favor and follow the way of the Lord

  29. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    BUILD AN ALTAR

6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

The ALTAR of the LORD is a place of of sacrifice and should be built of “whole stones” or strong, stable, solid commitment.
The ALTAR of the LORD is a place where SACRIFICE is offered.
The ALTAR of the LORD is a place to REJOICE.
The ALTAR of the LORD is a place where GOD speaks to man.
The ALTAR of the LORD is a place where Men of GOD speak the WORD of GOD Boldly

It is very frustrating to LIVE JESUS victoriously when we fail to BUILD AN ALTAR.

  30. 4 And when you have crossed the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command you today, and coat them with plaster. 5 Build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them.

Another demonstration explaining there is not a level that you can reach that allows you to “coast”. With every battle won there is a new challenge presented. Again ever working to build the Kingdom of God, until we reach that glorious day.

  31. “Then Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel as follows: “O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What a privilege to be called the people of God. To know Him and seek Him with all of our heart. And to learn of Him, what pleases him and displeases Him. It’s the highest honor.

  32. There’s a time a place and an order that things are done in, what is done in secret is revealed in open. Don’t lead the blind astray pray that their site will be restored.

    Deuteronomy 27:8 KJV
[8] And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

    Deuteronomy 27:10 KJV
[10] Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

    Deuteronomy 27:15 KJV
[15] Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord , the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place . And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

    Deuteronomy 27:18 KJV
[18] Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

    Ruth 4:15 KJV
[15] And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.

  33. 8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

As soon as they were come into Canaan, they must set up a monument, on which they must write the words of this law. They must set up an altar. The word and prayer must go together. Our Altar is Jesus, there is were we must go an worship every day, to reminds us that he has chosen us to serve him, with all of our heart, soul and might.

  34. iLove Jesus
Wow, I’ve read these chapters many times before but some reason as I read them again I just can’t believe I missed all this stuff. I didn’t even remember all these “amens” that were spoken before.

This is just another example of why it’s important to give witness in a church service. It shows you are in agreement with what’s being said

  35. Deuteronomy 27:9-10
    9) And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.
    10) Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

The same holds true for us today. When we become a child (people) of God, we must OBEY the voice of God (we do this by Praying, Reading His Word, and by Listening to the man of God) and DO His commandments and His statutes.

  36. 9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

We are the children of God, we shall obey his word and follow him and listen to his commandments that he says.Follow the path of the Lord and spread the word of the Lord and start helping save people.

  37. 5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

How does our altar to God look like? Am I giving the best and keeping it burning. Lord I pray that I give you the best and let my altar be made with the best stones and sacrifices, that my altar is my daily place to give you praise, worship and my all to you.

  38. 4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.

As they entered into the promise land they were instructed to build an altar of sacrifice before the Lord.

It doesn’t matter if you are standing on the highest peak or in the lowest valley, you must always have an altar of sacrifice built in your life.

1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

It is not enough to just be hearers of the Word, we must also be doers of the Word!

  39. “‘Cursed is anyone who does not affirm and obey the terms of these instructions.’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Levites declared curses upon those who break the covenant, and people answered Amen! to every declaration.
It is good to remind ourselves that the word Amen! means something. It means “so be it.” Every Amen! Is a agreement with the declaration of a curse when we disobey God’s commandments.
Even when we break the covenant of the Leadership when we sign it … we declare amen. Lord help me!!!

  40. This chapter reminds me of a country song

Looking for love in all the wrong places:

21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

And have you met my mother in law? :

23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

If you look for love in the right place you will find true love and you couldn’t be happier. Look to God and his people for the love that you desire. Love is very easily disguised but once you find it you know the difference. Someone said the difference between love and lust is love is selfless and lust is selfish.

  41. Deuteronomy 27:1
And Moses with the Elders of Israel commanded the people, saying keep all the commandments which I command you this day. 27:8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly. 27:9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God. 27:10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

I have heard people say,” well that was in the old testament, and we follow the new testament!” I tell them remember the 10 commandments was in the old testament! If we pray to God and study the word and follow the 10 commandments daily, we are doing what our Lord wants us to do. We are cursed if we disobey the commandments. So many people pick and choose verses out of the bible. That is why we have so many problems with the world today.

  42. “Then build an altar there to the Lord your God, using natural, uncut stones. You must not shape the stones with an iron tool. Build the altar of uncut stones, and use it to offer burnt offerings to the Lord your God.
    Deuteronomy 27:5‭-‬6 NLT

With every victory there must be an alter built. Not only to give thanks bit to always remember what the Lord has given and done.

  43. 4 Therefore it shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that on Mount Ebal you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, and you shall whitewash them with lime. 5 And there you shall build an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones; you shall not use an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build with [a]whole stones the altar of the Lord your God, and offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God. 7 You shall offer peace offerings, and shall eat there, and rejoice before the Lord your God. 8 And you shall write very plainly on the stones all the words of this law.”
    ***
Reading todays word has been very enlightening. In studying the scripture and absorbing today’s word I can see that these people were no different that we are today, they too had their burdens and struggles. But when the Israelites came out of the wilderness one of the first things GOD told them to do was to gather some stones and build an altar. I didn’t realize that these specific stones have significance, they represented hard things in life and that is what they used to build the altar. I know as followers of Christ it does not make us immune to the hard things in life, and I think at times being a believer opens us up to a whole new set of trials and tests that unsaved people don’t experience. I believe that we need to go back to the cross and behold the beauty, the grace and the power of the Lord, that so wonderfully and graciously brought us out us out of the wilderness of sin, and we need to take the hard things that we have experienced and once again lay them at the foot of the cross. Together just like those He called to build the altar… we too can carry those stones and build an altar, a place of worship where we can stop struggling and allow Christ to be our Life.

  44. “Then Moses and the leaders of Israel gave this charge to the people: “Obey all these commands that I am giving you today. When you cross the Jordan River and enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster. Write this whole body of instruction on them when you cross the river to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you—a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you. When you cross the Jordan, set up these stones at Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster, as I am commanding you today. “Then build an altar there to the Lord your God, using natural, uncut stones. You must not shape the stones with an iron tool. Build the altar of uncut stones, and use it to offer burnt offerings to the Lord your God. Also sacrifice peace offerings on it, and celebrate by feasting there before the Lord your God. You must clearly write all these instructions on the stones coated with plaster.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:1-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It isn’t enough for us to be hearers of the word; We must also be doers of the word.

  45. “And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Setting up a monument for Jesus. We have to remember all the things he has done for us. The great things he has brought us out of. The plagues he stayed from us. The miracles he bestowed on us to save us.

  46. 5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

Rejoice as you bring your offering!

  47. 10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
we should always obey our commandments, this is the basic rule into following God.

  48. Deuteronomio 27 :14-26

  49. It was talking about if you do this or that you will be cursed. And I know that will NOT be fun ,so if I were you I would not do that but I’m not you!

  50. Then Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel as follows: “O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God. So you must obey the Lord your God by keeping all these commands and decrees that I am giving you today.”
    Deuteronomy 27:9‭-‬10 NLT

I pray any deception weapon from the enemy every stronghold will be broken in Jesus name .

  51. 10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
Listen to God and do as he says, don’t hesitate we need to keep a close relationship with God so that you can also see the attack/temptation coming.

  52. Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place.

    12 cursed and 12 amens!

Gods words to the people was to set up boundaries and then God in all His wisdom gave them their reply. Amen! A word of agreement. When God sets a boundary it is important that we respond in agreement and show not only support but our submission to Him. Submission in the fact that we lay down our will that He May have His will accomplished.

Disagreement is not ok in the Kingdom. When the King speaks we respond Amen!

  53. In this chapter I learned that God told his people to build an alter with Field stones. After that God told them to Sacrifice fellowship offerings there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord your God. This was the new law, and they were to write it on the field stones on the alter. This was a very detailed instructions that hid people followed. We have to be loyal and humble in the kingdom of God, and whenever and wherever we are. GO IN HIS MIGHTY GRACIOUS NAME POFW!!!

  54. 5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:

Why wouldn’t God want us to shape the stones for his altar? Why wouldn’t he want precise measurements for this one like he did for the tabernacle. Maybe its because while they were wondering in the wilderness they needed precise instructions… 🤔 maybe in order for us to excel to the next level we needed exact steps, we needed specific material, we needed the ultimate guidance. We were babes just out of bondage, we were free from captivity, regardless we could not direct ourselves so God gave us absolute direction. When we crossed over the Jordan into the promise land, we were given instruction again. Only this time he said to build him and alter and don’t cut the stones with iron tools use whole stones. When we are able to give our whole selves to him we use the whole stones. We are ready to build our own altar and have the faith that he will provide all the necessary size stones. There would be no need to cut them, every one would fall into place, not perfectly, but unshakable. The Lord still gives us instruction and we should always obey, but with spiritual maturity comes spiritual responsibility.

  55. “Write this whole body of instruction on them when you cross the river to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you—a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, when the Israelites were about to enter The Promise Land given By The Lord Our God.

  56. 15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

The first curse is to the one that maketh any graven or molten image… or an idol. It so hard to even try to understand those people. Their minds are blocked and their understanding darkened. They created their own god and worship it expecting it to do something. It’s dead. It cannot. It will not. Can you imagine if God the Lord himself who created us, then bowed down and worship his creation and prayed that it will do for him what he needed? Yes it makes no sense right? Yet there are millions in the world that do this. Their understanding is twisted, veiled. It is the church’s job to show Jesus. To pray that God would open up their eyes and understanding they they may get the revelation of the One true God.

The people really perish for lack of understanding

  57. “‘Cursed is he who misleads a blind person on the road.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’ ‘Cursed is he who distorts (perverts) the justice due to a stranger, an orphan, and a widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:18-19‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As Christians we need to make sure that we are not quick to judge or turn our faces to the lost. We need to make sure we are doing as god commanded us to do and are leading the lost to Jesus. We have to make sure we don’t get so caught up in ourself that we forget what god has called us to do which is win souls for his kingdom.

  58. “So it shall be on the day when you cross the Jordan to [enter] the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with plaster (lime, whitewash).”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:2‬ ‭AMP

What we do now impacts future generations. God already told Moses he would not enter into the land He promised the children of Israel, but, Moses continued to be a mouthpiece. We may not live to see the fruition of our acts but that does not mean we should give up our work for the Kingdom. I thank God that for being a promise keeper. I pray we always remember that what we do now, can either help or hinder the generations to come. I pray we always choose to be a help!

  59. ““Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Don’t be the reason somebody walks away from God and the truth but be a light, a beacon of hope, and a path to truth.

  60. 15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

The merging of religions in 325 AD by Constantine was truly unbiblical. The Christians of the time and pagans were united by an abomination of a religion known as Catholicism. The roman gods were renamed to symbolize biblical characters. And since idolatry was the one thing that was not going to be given up by pagans they kept there statues.

And because of persecution, the gospel spread well past Roman control into the uttermost.

  61. 9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel as follows: “O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God. 10 So you must obey the LORD your God by keeping all these commands and decrees that I am giving you today

On the day Jesus was crucified, we all became eligible to be saved. Accept Jesus as Savior and be baptized. Simple concept, and to obey the Word, and learn the Word.
