Deuteronomy 28

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.

10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

20 The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

21 The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

22 The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

24 The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

25 The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

27 The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

28 The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.

33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

35 The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

36 The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.

38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

49 The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.

53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, The Lord Thy God;

59 Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.

63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

64 And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

68 And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

  1. The same way God blessed you he will end you . Obey God’s Commands and be humble.we must respect his commands. If we live right the lord promises blessings if we live in sin the lord promises curses

  2. 9The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. 10And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

The blessings of obedience can come in many ways. No matter what we look like and no matter how difficult it may be, the Lord will reward according to our obedience. Sometimes when our faith is not enough, we need to obey, when our faith says we might be healed, we need to obey. When we have all the joy stole from us and it’s difficult to see the silver lining in the dark clouds, we need to obey.

The scriptures states that the Lord is telling us –
    2 chronicles 7
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We shall be called by his name and all our enemies shall be afraid because of that name of Jesus. There is no name given unto man that does anything like the name of Jesus. It is all about my obedience to his word and to his ways. If we want true revival we have to obey him above everything else in this world.

  3. Blessings vs. Curses……Obedience vs. Disobedience……all depend on your decision to either follow the Voice of God or not. Verse 1 AMP says “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God….” or Verse 15 “But it shall come about, if you do not listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God…”. Joshua 24:15 AMP “If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Proverbs 22:12 says “God guards knowledge with a passion, but he’ll have nothing to do with deception.” So many are still being deceived by things that are influencing them or keeping them from hearing the Voice of God.

Proverbs 3:1-7 AMP say “My son, do not forget my a]teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; For length of days and years of life [worth living] And tranquility and prosperity [the wholeness of life’s blessings] they will add to you. Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you [instead let these qualities define you]; Bind them [securely] around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man. Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. [b]In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil.” Once again we have to incise them, bind them and keep his commandments on the tablet of our hearts. Be alert and do not let anything keep you from your blessings.

  4. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

    Proverbs 22:4 KJV
By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honour, and life.

Keeping God’s commandments should be joyous honor not a chore … I want to live in the overflow of His blessings ALWAYS!

  6. Keeping the commandments of the Lord brings blessings upon our lives, but not following them brings cursing and pain.

  7. 13. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

    -VS-

    43. The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

    44. He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

    Heads or Tails?
It’s more than a coin-toss; it’s a lifetime of either joy or regret, with eternity on the line.

  8. Deut.28: 8-9 [Amp] The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your store house and in all that you under take. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
[9] The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, If you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
My God does more than enough, He will supplied all of our needs. If we will be obeintant and submissive to him. Hear His Voice and do his commands. It’s up to bless or cursed! In Jesus name.

  9. 9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.

If we will follow his commandments as stated in verse 1 God will bless, establish us as his people.
    We will be his child.

What does it mean to be his people? Today we say we are Americans or we are English or wherever you are from you identify as that country’s people culture. So when God said you will be my people he was saying your culture will have to change are actions will have to change and people will know who you are just by watching us. We are a example to this world.

What example are we giving out?
    Are we his people today?

  10. “The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. “If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do.
    Deuteronomy 28:8‭-‬9 NLT

Waymaker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness that is who you are

  11. 7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

Good will cause your enemies to fall before you. There is no need to worry when God is on your side. It is important to remember that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Jesus is the one true God.

    • 28:13 and the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail,,and thou shall be above only
,and thou shall not be beneath, if thou harken under the commands of the Lord, thy God which i commanded thee this day, to observe and to do them.
      Hallelujah 🙌🙌🙌
This day is a new day of Gods mercies…
I opened my eyes, I can breath, I am able to PRAISE the Lord.
Have your way, for you said in your word, that we will be above and not beneath……
I want my ABBA to say; there she is, doing and yielding to my will….

  12. In this chapter God talked about us obeying his commandments. He said that if we obey the commandments that we would be blessed! Today POFW we have to be the right example to the ones who need Jesus. We want everyone to be blessed too! BE THE BLESSINGS POFW!!

  13. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 & 15
    1) AND it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
    2) And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

    15) But it shall come to pass if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

    “If thou shalt”
If we listen to the voice of the Lord and observe and do his commandments, He will bring blessing upon us.
    BUT…
    “If thou shalt not”
If we do not listen to the voice of the Lord nor observe and keep his commandments, He will bring curses upon us.

    Seems simple enough to understand.

  14. 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

The equivalent of Galatians 5:16 that tells us to walk in the spirit that we not fulfill the lust of the flesh. God never promised us something without the stipulation that we must obey him because in order for us to benefit his promises you must be willing to obey. It doesn’t seem like there’s any consequence in this world that can keep people obeying God however if they love the Lord with all their heart then they’re going to want to obey. That’s why Christ said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all your heart and with all your soul, bc obedience follows

  15. The cursing is far more detailed than the blessing. The blessing can flow over into all areas of our lives, but I think God really took his time to be specific with the cursing to really paint an appropriate picture of how exactly disobedience can effect you. Disobedience can pull us away from promises that God had set up for us.

Lord keep us close to You. I thank You out for favor.

  16. 13If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.14 You must not turn away from any of the commands I am giving you today, nor follow after other gods and worship them.
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

58“If you refuse to obey all the words of instruction that are written in this book, and if you do not fear the glorious and awesome name of the Lord your God,59 then the Lord will overwhelm you and your children with indescribable plagues. These plagues will be intense and without relief, making you miserable and unbearably sick. 60He will afflict you with all the diseases of Egypt that you feared so much, and you will have no relief. 61The Lord will afflict you with every sickness and plague there is, even those not mentioned in this Book of Instruction, until you are destroyed.

In this Scriptures, God tells us if we listen and respond and love to his commandments he will bless and make us above all things and he will make us the head and not the tail and God tells us “to Listen oh Israel the Lord is your God, the Lord Alone. Love the Lord your God with all your Heart,Soul, and Strength” as the last generation we must truly listen and love the Lord our God with all heart, soul, and strength for the Lord our God will bless us and he will strengthen us in this journey that we walk in for he will be with us and destroy all difficult obstacles in our paths. But the Lord tells if we refuse to Listen and Love his commands we will be curse by the Lord our God because we do don’t truly love him and glorify his holy name, we will be put to shame and this world we be against you. the Lord our God he will turn all obstacles and make all trials harder for you to even pass through them, and even you children’s will be cursed and everything else that is yours. The Lord our God let us have free will to pick and choose to be bless or to be curse we must decide what we want to be bless or curse but the Lord our God wants you to be saved and blessed in Jesus name!
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:58-61‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  17. 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

What a great and mighty God we serve! His blessings are abundant and He gives them freely as long as we follow His commandments, His word, and give Jesus everywhere we go!!! He is Awesome!!! Our God is good all the time, but if we do not follow His commandments and forget His ways then the opposite will come to our home for verse 15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Then everything that once was a blessing becomes a curse. Not because God is not good but because our actions Bro gs those curses upon our homes. Does that mean that if we see our brother or our sister going through some negatives things means they have sinned, by all means NO remember that our enemy like a lion is always seeking to attack and if you are not being attacked that means you are in the enemy team. Make sure that you are there to lift your brother and sister in prayer, to send blessings upon them, and above all rejoice with them for their blessings for your blessings will soon follow!!!!

  18. Deuteronomy 28
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

Obedience to the Word of God
What wonderful blessings will flow from obedience to the word of God. In my heart there rings a melody . I think iof all that God has promised to us. How wonderful the provisions and blessings that will be bountiful.
Then to read the curses that we’re going to befall the disobedient sadness filled my heart. If somehow we can just share a glimpse of what God is doing in our lives to others. I think of people whom have backslidden and those who have come but have not returned . Many are too busy caught up in this world of their own life when it will not matter in the end. God help us . I want to love and make a difference somehow in someone’s life not just one but many . They must understand there are blessings from God He wants to give if they will just follow His commandments. Thank you Jesus for the blessings that are being poured out and help us to reflect You today to this world that walks in disobedience. We are so blessed to truly know Who You are. Help me to walk in Your Ways daily and help me to share how You are blessing because of obedience to Your Words .
Obedience is a word people really do not like unless they are the ones making the rules yet there are consequences when the rules are broken . Why not take a look at The Book and find the hidden treasures of living for God the blessings that will be yours…..
Live Jesus so I can Give Jesus.
Enemies will fall blessings you can’t even image !

6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

9 The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. 11 The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. 14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today,
    What wonderful promises !
    Live Jesus Give Jesus

  19. 1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

God has many plans for us. We need to always obey and follow God we also need to follow what God commands us to do. The Lord our God can bless us in many ways . But we need to obey and follow God and listen to what he is commanding us to do the Lord our God knows what he is doing. We can be blessed in many ways we just need to follow and obey the Lord our God.

  20. 1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

  21. 13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

We have a choice to be the head or the tail. God’s will for us is dependent on our choices. If we do not willingly serve, obey, praise, etc. God will intercede and send trouble that will cause you to do so (just like Jonah in the whale); at one point or another, God will receive the glory. Because He is worthy, I choose today to willingly and joyfully, serve and obey the Lord!

  22. 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Again, IF we hearken unto voice of The LORD!!! NO OTHER WAY TO BE BLESSED!!! GOD IS FIGHTING FOR US, GOD IS ON OUR SIDE, ARE WE ON HIS?

  23. ““If you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and to obey the commands and decrees he has given you, all these curses will pursue and overtake you until you are destroyed.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:45‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/deu.28.45.nlt

Shewy that’s quite the list of consequences. I believe I’d just go ahead and obey the commandments of the Lord and not even chance all that other stuff. Let’s go be obedient today in Jesus name!

  24. iLove Jesus

Wow, that was rough! I mean all the blessings were great, I mean who wouldn’t like to be blessed right? But the rough part is judgement time when all the curses were listed. Not only are the curses opposite of the blessings, but there is added mayhem.

I think anyone with half a brain would choose blessings over curses. Religion tries to promise blessings if you will “come over to their side” but, it’s only relationship that truly removes the curse.

  25. “If “..”Then”..

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Most choices that we make will effect others. This is the “If”..”Then”.. situation. God has the same standards for us today. “If” we live a life for God “Then” He will bless us. Not that we will walk on rainbows and everyday is rose gardens. Simply, He will be there for us and not leave our side. “If” we obey His commands “Then” He will set us above the other nations. We will be blessed wherever we go.

  26. If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

15 However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:

It’s simple do you want blessings or curses?!? We are the ones making a choice. At school the teachers always tell the students that they have a choice to make either behave and listen or not. But to remember that every choice has a consequence. This is exactly the same just because we’re adults doesn’t mean that we don’t have consequences to our choices that we make daily in our lives. Every decision that we make, affects not only you but those around you. Jesus is just laying it there clearly on what you want. He’s asking us do you want to obey or not? Do you blessings or curses? Do you want punishment or a reward!!! Everything is in our hands. The choice is ours!!! LIVE JESUS!!!

  27. What a promise!

Obedience is worth more than any money or wealth you could acquire. It is just like when Solomon asked for wisdom and God gave him wisdom and in that wisdom he was blessed beyond measure. When we are obedient, God is bound by his word to bless us, so we should focus on the obedience and let God do the blessing.

  28. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    SIMPLE CHOICE

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

    or

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

There are people that sincerely struggle with the SIMPLE CHOICE to SERVE JESUS. I understand that there are tempting and desirable opportunities in life that would tempt us to live life our way. But, an honest and often reading of this chapter alone should serve as motivation to LIVE JESUS and GIVE JESUS to our dying world.

    Notice:

There are 14 verses of BLESSINGS and 54 verses of Curses. SIMPLE CHOICE

The WORD of GOD does not speak in this approach to motivation and instruction often. But, is very clear in this passage of PROMISE that the weight of disobedience causes men to act in extraordinary evil ways. Also the Favor of BLESSING is to be INCREASED above all as to seem unfairly BLESSED.

    SIMPLE CHOICE

I charge all that read this to remember this chapter if you should ever struggle to choose to LIVE JESUS.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  29. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

You are blessed going in and blesses going out. Remember your enemies will fall to you, the Lord is always going to be with you so when your enemies come the Lord will help you push through them and help you rise up.

  30. 37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.

God’s people are a people of influence. Whether we want to believe it or not people are watching our lives. They are watching to see are we serving the Lord with gladness. Is their joy in our lives? Are we living in obedience and submission? Are we victorious? Can we smile through the trials? Can we sustain a daily walk with God, or do we just want with Him on Sunday’s? All these questions are things that people watch in our lives.

When we are obedient to the Lord and walk in His ways, His blessings are evident. However, if we choose to leave the path the Lord is lead us on and go our own way, immediately those blessings become curses and we will become byword to those that we once had influence with.

This is why not only is important that we stay right and focused, but we don’t want the blood of others to be on our hands at judgement. How sad it would be for someone to step up at the great throne of judgement and say, “I had just made up my mind to serve your God, but then you walked away….” God forbid.

  31. 11“The LORD will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops.
20“The LORD himself will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in everything you do, until at last you are completely destroyed for doing evil and abandoning me.

Ask yourself, which verse would you rather have? Obey and be blessed or disobey and be cursed. Many want blessings without being committed to God, but continue to be frustrated with how their lives are going.

  32. 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

“. . . if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord. . .” He just wants us to listen to Him. He says that all of these blessings will not only overcome us, but overtake us!! All he wants us to do is listen to Him, just like all we ask is for our children to listen to us! If that’s what we want and expect from our own children, it shouldn’t be that hard for us to listen to our Heavenly Father. Without hesitation, without question, without attitudes, without complaining, . . . He just wants us to listen.

All we have to do is listen and he will bless us in multiple places, multiple things. He will bless us in the city, the country, our bodies, our labors, our possessions, he will increase the abundance of our possessions, livestock, and profit. He will also bless us wherever we come from and wherever we go.

13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

“. . . if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord. . .” He means business when He says it more than once! Again, HE JUST WANTS US TO LISTEN TO HIM!!

Then after backing His statements with positive reinforcement early He moves on to tell us the consequences. “. . . if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord. . . “. You will be CURSED should you decide not to listen. Not only will you be cursed, but in all of those things that you could have been blessed in, will now be cursed. He just wants us to listen.

Listening is a powerful tool!! We as humans learn by listening. It is how we are wired. We learn by what we absorb. We as Christians don’t listen to worldly music because it has an effect on our spirit. We don’t give ear to gossiping or those speaking negatively, because it does something to our spirit and sometimes our attitudes. Instead, we encourage each other, we listen to sermons and messages, come every service to LISTEN to pastor preach. Depending what you listen to determines your attitude, outlook and spirit. He just wants us to LISTEN to him. Will you decide to be blessed or cursed??

  33. 47 Because you didn’t serve God, your God, out of the joy and goodness of your heart in the great abundance, you’ll have to serve your enemies whom God will send against you.

If you really love something and delight in it and talk about it; it’s because it gives you such pleasure, you make it a big deal. When God is our deepest desire it is easy to find pleasure in Him. Serve the Lord with gladness. It’s not rocket science. He does not want our leftovers or murmuring service, bored service, and “have-to” service. Serve the Lord with gladness. God made us to magnify him and, therefore, it cannot be optional.

The pursuit for joy is not an effort to be comfortable or have security or be prosperous or any of the ideals that are advertised to us every day. It is a fight against all odds to relate and be in a relationship with Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

It’s not a praise God anyhow relationship. It’s built on suffering, tears and empathy for all the dying people you’re aware of and the people whose marriages are in trouble, the people whose kids are on drugs, it’s the people you know who are broken. To give Jesus to people in need, we have to spilling over with Him.

  34. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
    47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

Our choices today affect even our children. The children of Israel were to obey God and they didn’t have the power of the Holy Ghost living inside them, yet God expected their obedience! They did live in a more innocent time than we do today. His people today have the power to overcome and live in his abundant blessings. What I see missing today is people trying to live an overcoming life without the power of the Holy Ghost, without knowledge of his word and commands, without the truth. There are many, many good people around us who still need more God, they need the apostolic doctrine for their salvation. Help us reach them and teach them Lord and be the proper examples for them to read.

  35. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
    ***
13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

This is the God we serve!
He is so good, this law is so that we may know Him and know how to live for Him. His word equips us for His purposes and if we commit everything to Him, He can turn things around for us. …. Sunday our Pastor made the call to all of us that felt like our situation was the worst. I don’t know about you but I often forget that God made me greater than my current circumstances…. I have moments that I just feel like it cannot get any worse and it does. But His strength is made perfect in our weakness and today Gods word reminds us that He can and will make us the head and not the tail. So today, despite all that you are going through, I encourage you to believe His Word in spite of your circumstances and expect to see Victory, I claim it for you and for me in Jesus name amen!!

  36. 11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto the land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

    Hallelujah!!

    Praise the Lord our God!

  37. 47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

Have you ever asked someone to do something for you and the attitude they responded with made you want to yell “just forget it, I’ll do it myself”?

I can imagine that’s how God feels when we respond to Him with grumbling and complaining instead of joy and gladness.

He would never force us to serve Him, serving Him is a choice we make. But if we cannot serve in cheerfulness, we would be better off not serving at all.

When you think about all we owe God, we should be thankful for every opportunity we get to serve Him.

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

At the end of the day you will serve someone, the question is, will it be Jesus or the enemy?

  38. Deuteronomy 28

It is clearly noted in Deuteronomy chapter 28 that anyone who obeys the Lord will be rewarded with abundance. The Lord will set such persons above all the other nations on the earth. … In addition, the leaders and the people of other lands will strongly fear those who are the people of God and for good reason.

  39. ““If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God: Your towns and your fields will be blessed. Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. “The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! “The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. “If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do. Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you. “The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. You must not turn away from any of the commands I am giving you today, nor follow after other gods and worship them.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:1-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This passage of scripture is talking about the blessings of obedience. The blessings are great but it all is contingent on if we are obedient. It’s conditional and comes down to what we choose to do.

  40. Deuteronomy 28:6
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 28:7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: thy shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 28:9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of thy Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. 28:15 But is shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: 28:22 The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting and with mildew; and they shall pursee thee until thou perish.

If we follow our Lord and do what is right in His eyes with the commandments we will be blessed, but if we go against our Lord the ramifications will be unbearably awful! Why would anyone want to go against the Lord and be cursed so severely!

  41. 58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, The Lord Thy God;

  42. 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
if you listen to the voice of god and obey then he should bless you.

  43. It said that if you don’t listen to tell words I’m about to tell you will be cursed and there will not be a way out . Your kids would be very ill and this will happen in till you die!
But if you do follow these words then you’ll love a happy long life ,and you’ll be the most happened person on eath!!

  44. 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

    HE`ARKEN, v.i. h`arken.
To listen; to lend the ear; to attend to what is uttered, with eagerness or curiosity.
The Lord continue to remind Israel on what to do and what not to do, it goes the same for us today. He reminds us to do His commandments and do as He has ordered. That’s the only way for us to be blessed by Him. We must continue to read the Bible everyday, yo remind us on what we must do.

  45. The most tender and delicate woman among you—so delicate she would not so much as touch the ground with her foot—will be selfish toward the husband she loves and toward her own son or daughter. She will hide from them the afterbirth and the new baby she has borne, so that she herself can secretly eat them. She will have nothing else to eat during the siege and terrible distress that your enemy will inflict on all your towns.
    Deuteronomy 28:56‭-‬57 NLT

If the church is in disobedience it will never grow cause it will be eating its new babes in Christ. We are the church and we must always choose the path of obedience. We will be more fruitful and we will grow.

  46. 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

It will come upon you and overtake you. Yet the choice is yours. If the blessings did not convince you, which they are many and really great ones, perhaps the curse might. There are way more curses that can happen for not obeying the word and going after other gods than blessings. One should really consider. What people feel and think is freedom and or liberty to do what they want in the flesh and sin, is really bondage and curse and destruction.

  47. And it shall come to pass “IF”

[14] And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

    Deuteronomy 28:40 KJV
[40] Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit .

    **sounds like church without God

    Deuteronomy 28:46 KJV
[46] And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

**Till the walls come down I will worship and praise JESUS

    Deuteronomy 28:58 KJV
    [58] If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE Lord THY GOD;

    Deuteronomy 28:62 KJV
[62] And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.

    *Revelation 19:20 KJV
[20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

    Revelation 20:14 KJV
[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

    1 Peter 4:17 KJV
[17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

    1 Peter 4:19 KJV
[19] Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

  48. 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

In football there is a left tackle and a right tackle both are know to be the largest players on the field. When I read this all I can think of was both of them running towards someone and both fitting that person at the same time. Not only would it be a hit that would forever be know but forever remembers and felt by the one being tackled.

When we walk in obedience to God two things are sure His blessings will tackle us so hard that one others will forever talk about it and two we will forever remember it.

It’s not for our own glory but for the glory of God!

  49. ““If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s a daily sometimes hourly choice to obey what has been laid before us. And every act obedience comes with a blessing and equally every act of disobedience there is a consequence.

  50. “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All good things happen IF you follow God’s commands. But everything after this verse is what happens IF you don’t follow after God. There are more curses than blessings. There is great benefit in loving and seeking God. It’s not just about the blessings, it’s also about avoiding the curses.

That the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. If we obey the Lord, He would set us high above all nations of the earth ( Our Ministry) and the blessings would be so powerful that they would come upon us and overtake us. We wouldn’t be able to escape the blessings.

    LIVE . GIVE . JESUS

  52. God will bless Israel

Deuteronomy 28:1-3 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

To choose to obey and keep God’s commandments is to live Jesus and God will bless.

Psalm 128:1,4 Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. v.4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.

  53. “And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He is a God of abundance and a God who keeps His word. We can’t pick and choose what of the Word we want to follow but we must apply all of it to our lives. When I was younger my mom used to tell us there is no whoopin like a whoopin from God. Through my brief life, I’ve known those words to come true a little too well. But I thank God that His arms are open and He gives us mercy. I pray we don’t take for granted the grace and mercy He grants is, for no man knows the day or hour that He will fulfill His promise.

  54. “All these curses will come on you. They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the Lord your God and observe the commands and decrees he gave you.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:45‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There will be no way to out run the consequences you have gained from your desire to disobey God. Is a life if running from the inevitable really a life to live at all? Of course not. I’d rather obey God the first time and allow his blessings to fall on us than to disobey him and attempt to outrun the curse I’ve literally placed on myself.

  55. 1“Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”
15“But it shall come about, if you do not listen to and obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today, then all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:1, 15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Your choice to be obedient or disobedient to his commands determines your blessings. Seems hard but it’s just that simple as long as we obey we will reap the benefits m. We must stay prayed & fasted up so we don’t begin to stray from his commandments.

  56. Even if you are not a Christian everyone should know that there are consequences to everything we do. A cause and effect to all actions. God has standards for us to achieve the attributes of more holy, living in abundance, blessed beyond measure, just a plane good life. It will have its ups and downs but even our enemy will be smitten in front our faces. If we choose not live by these standards then we will be pooed on. Our God is a jealous god, he created us for him, to give him glory, to magnify him, to reflect his image onto the world.
