Deuteronomy 31

And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.

And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the Lord hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the Lord hath said.

And the Lord shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.

And the Lord shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and unto all the elders of Israel.

10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

11 When all Israel is come to appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:

13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.

15 And the Lord appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.

16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,

26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?

28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.

29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

  1. • Be strong and courageous the LORD has your back he will never fail you or give up on you. He loves you and he will fight your battles, nothing is too hard for God. He will destroy your enemies .

  2. 2 And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the Lord hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

120 YEARS OLD!!! People these days barely make it to their 70’s!!!
    HELP US LORD!!!

  3. 26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Not Deuteronomy only, but the whole Pentateuch: we must obey and do exactly as the Lord commands for us to do. He said to be strong and courageous! He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Love Him with all of your heart.

  4. 28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.

29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

When left to rely on our flesh we are prideful, lustful, and rebellious. Moses called for the elders so they may know of what God had given Moses for Israel.
Sometimes we need an outside source that we trust to be that extra level of accountability.
Meeting with our Pastor can help with situations. He has great godly insight for a lot of life circumstances AND he is a trusted person who can work with you and keep you accountable to your actions as you’re striving to reach a goal. I’m thankful for my man of God.

  5. Verses 7-8 CEV “Then Moses called Joshua up in front of the crowd and said: Joshua, be brave and strong as you lead these people into their land. The Lord made a promise long ago to Israel’s ancestors that this land would someday belong to Israel. That time has now come, and you must divide up the land among the people. The Lord will lead you into the land. He will always be with you and help you, so don’t ever be afraid of your enemies.” If God has given you a charge (a task, responsibility, command, instruction) do it with everything you’ve got with full authority. God will give you what you need to accomplish what He has given you to do or take on.

1 Peter 5:7 AMP “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”

Psalm 55:22 AMP “Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).”

  6. 7And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. 8And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

The charge for transition, Moses gives charge unto Joshua to take the children of Israel over the Jordan into the promise land. I often wonder what would have happened if Moses would disobeyed God and tried to cross the Jordan. I can only imagine the desire to have set foot onto such a prize that was just across the river. With Moses not having long according to the charge of the Lord humbly have charge to his predecessor Joshua. He encouraged him to be strong and of good courage.

Sometimes when the mantle of God is passed from one leader to another, there is sometimes confusion when the prior leader doesn’t get out of the way. It creates chaos and there is no line of authority because the previous leader doesn’t remove themselves from the position appropriately. I have found that when done proper according to the word of God, everything prospers according to God’s word. Just remember that God is ultimately in control and he has all power and authority to take control of one’s destiny. That is why Joshua was able to take the children across Jordan.

  7. 23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.
24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

Something I was taught about great leadership years ago what’s the always train a predecessor. Moses brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and into the wilderness but it was Joshua that brought them into the promised Land. Moses passed the proverbial baton of leadership to Joshua. Joshua knew what the people Israel were going to do, he knew that they were going to turn their back on God but he still took charge and did what he was called to do because that’s how he had been trained by Moses. All throughout the Bible we see many points of leadership for us to take away from and learn.

  8. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.
God knows our hearts. Its our hearts that deceive us. The flesh desires the things of this world, but not the spirit! Thank God for the Holy Ghost that changes our hearts. Now we desire the things of God and can follow him as he commands. Thank God for blood that he shed to save us.

  9. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

    Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

    1 Samuel 30:6
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Like David, many times in life we must lean not in our understanding but on the Lord… And encourage ourselves in His word!

  10. Deuteronomy 31
7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

    No Fear Factor
Acts 1:8. Sums this up for us

Acts 1:8 New International Version (NIV)

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

There are multiple scriptures of The No Fear Factor.
Everyone of us have something that causes fear in our life. Can we overcome these fears ? Through the power of Jesus Christ yes! He alone will be our strength. I must continue trust in God and not be afraid. I can call upon God and He will show up ! No Fear Factor each challenge becomes greater and greater . Through Jesus we can become strong courageous and not fear. Strength in Him not self. It’s like a secret power which in reality it is not a secrecy for God wants to equip each of us with it.
Yet it is a secret we must hold deeply within His strength becomes ours for He has placed it within us. I can do all things THROUGH CHRIST Who strengths me. And thankfully when I may not be feeling as courtas I should I can surround myself with others who are prayer warriors and when they begin to eat in the Spirit strength returns and I can continue.

Thank God for unity . As was simply spoken by a teen last night. Teamwork brings strength. With God and fellowship with the body we can rise above the enemy.

  11. Deuteronomy 31:11-12 (AMP)
    11) When all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he chooses, you shall read this law before all (the people of) Israel so that they may hear.
    12) Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the stranger (resident alien, foreigner) within your cities, so that they may hear and learn and fear the LORD your God (with awe-filled reverence and profound respect), and be careful to obey all the words of this law.

This is why we “Assemble ourselves together.” This is why we come to church. So that we can hear and learn the Word of God, and so that we can hear and learn how to fear God (with reverence and respect) and obey all His words that are written in the Bible.

The Word of God is for Everyone, man – woman – child – stranger.

  12. Deuteronomy 32:6 Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God , he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
7.And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

Thank God for encouragement thru His Word and through our Pastor.
    God will fight for us!

Joshua 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

  13. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

God’s instructions aren’t easy, our faith in Him should be sufficient that we have nothing to fear for He is with us!!!

8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Again God insure us that He is always with us! Even when we don’t feel Him He is still there by us working in us and for us.

20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

Humans are just like that and God knows us well. He knows that when things are good we tend to forget about Him and start running after other goals (gods) yes goals can become gods if we aren’t careful. It is easy to run to God when things aren’t going our way, that’s usually the first thing we do. But when things are good and everything is going well, we forget where those blessings come from, we start thinking that we got there by our own means, our own work, our own abilities, and we start creating gods. Our goals become our priorities (gods), our hobbies take over on our free time (gods), even our families when we put them above all else then they become our gods. First JESUS, second JESUS, third JESUS! When we do that we don’t have to worry about the rest because everything else shall come to place!
Matthew 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  14. Deut.31 :5-6 [Amp] And the Lord will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you.
[6] Be strong , courageous, and firm; fear not not be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.
For he is Worthly and Greatly to be praised. For he is My rock of salvation. For his mercy and love endures forever. For the joy of the Lord is our Strength. Thank you Jesus for you are good.

  15. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Moses encourages Joshua to fear not, to be courageous and to take leadership over Israel. God is with him and God will not forsake thee. Even at Moses final moments, He continued to instruct Israel to stay faithful to God’s covenant and the consequences of disobedience. That applies to us today. God will not forsake us so be let’s be courageous and strong and remain in obedience. Soon we shall enter the Kingdom and rejoice altogether in one!

  16. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE WITNESS

26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Culture and society may change their laws and convictions. But the WORD of GOD will never change. Here is the first evidence that the WORD of GOD will stand and judge forever. The book of the LAW it he ARK of GOD. The ARK which represents the covenants of GOD now testifies eternally of these TRUTHS that we read and LIVE today from the Book of the LAW.

My prayer is that our hearts, minds and lives are filled with much awe, respect and obedience to the Book of the LAW; the BIBLE. Understanding the eternal power of the WORD of GOD is imperative to our eternal LIFE with JESUS.

JESUS has given us the Book of LIFE to LIVE by and the record of IT to GIVE by.

Let this day be a day that we commit to LIVE JESUS and GIVE JESUS to a lost and dying world.

  17. 27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?

29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

    That will preach!
Thank you God and a man of God for all the good advice that came out of the pulpit the Kept me a life.

    AL.M.A.S.

  18. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

One of the first test that the Israelites was going to experience is the test of “plenty.” They would have dominion, the land was plenteous and there in that state they will become laxidasical, fat with the provision given to them, and there they will turn to other gods.

How much like them are we? We pray for God’s blessings, His provision, better jobs, better homes, better cars, and then when God does honor us and bless us, we turn to other gods – now we’re too busy to be faithful to the house of God because of our jobs. We’re too tired from cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, life to be faithful to reaching our world through outreach. We’ve purchased too many toys and now we don’t have the funds to be faithful in supporting the Kingdom. All God did was honor our request and bless us “plenteous”

God forbid that we forget our God. All these “blessings” should push us to do more, be more, live for God more. I pray we can pass the test of “plenteous” in our own lives.

  19. 31:8 and the Lord, he is that doth goes before thee
He will be thee he will not fell thee, neither forsake thee
    Fear not, neither be dismayed.
    ——
Be confident in the Lord, stick to his word, speak it,
Wait if, taste if, and no matter what you hear, see or go through…. DO NOT BE DISMAYED . For the Lord is with thee
    STRONGH AND MIGHTY.

  20. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

We can be so selfish. And thats why sometimes we dont get exactly what we want and pray for, because once we get what we want and all is well, we walk away from God.
Once our hardship has passes, we step back from praying that hard and we forget so fast what God did for us. I realize this and i pray i can handle my blessings in a way that i can still honor the Lord and not provoke Him.

  21. iLove Jesus

26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

The book (Bible) can either be a witness for you or against you. The Lord spoke to Moses here about the Children of Israel backsliding and as you read it, it sounds really negative. Can you imagine Moses last sermon probably did not get a standing ovation. But, with Moses it was about delivering what thus saith the Lord.

  22. The Lord said: Moses, you will soon die. But Israel is going into a land where other gods are worshiped, and Israel will reject me and start worshiping these gods. The people will break the agreement I made with them, and I will be so furious that I will abandon them and ignore their prayers. I will send disasters and suffering that will nearly wipe them out. Finally, they will realize that the disasters happened because I abandoned them. They will pray to me, but I will ignore them because they were evil and started worshiping other gods.
    Deuteronomy 31:16‭-‬18 CEV

We are our biggest enemy! The flesh is deceitful. It can easily be enticed. By what we see, feel, and hear. The flesh quickly allows emotion to take place, everything that we live and stand for is out the door!! We have forgotten that we can overcome the flesh, when our hearts remembers who our LORD is in our lives.
Thank you Jesus for your mercy in my life, I am not who I use to be!

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
    Ephesians 2:2‭-‬3 KJV

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
    Galatians 5:16 KJV

And Jesus replied to him, “ ‘Y ou shall love the Lord your G od with all your heart , and with all your soul , and with all your mind .’
    Matthew 22:37 AMP

  23. Be prepared

You see Moses being at the end of his ministry and Gods plan is not going to skip a beat. God has Joshua prepared and ready to go. Joshua has been at Moses side at every turn, very heart break, ever decision, anywhere Moses went and anything Moses encountered Joshua was there. Now that it is time for him to take over, The Kingdom is not going to skip a beat. Be prepared and when it is your time, you will fit right in to where God called you.

  24. Our Lord and Saviour always goes by His word. He told Moses that he would not go to the promised land. He told the Israelites how he would take care of them if they followed His commandments. He also told them what would happen if they turned against Him by worshipping idols. I am grateful that we have the bible and a pastor like brother Watts to help direct us to the way of our savior Jesus Christ. I pray for the lost souls that they may find the truth.

  25. 20. For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

God knew that they were going to turn away from Him, but He loved them so much that He gave them the Promised Land anyway.

Two things you can always count on –
    God always loves you
    God always keeps His promises

  26. 27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?

God is a promise keeper. He brought them all the way to their promise even knowing what was to come, but He kept His word. This is a prime example of how our choices effect the outcome God has for us. If they were to obey, the story could have changed. God will keep His promises to us, but how we handle them, how we value and appreciate them, how we serve through them, effects the long run and the effects it will have on souls around us.

  27. 10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

  28. 21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

6a Be strong and of good courage

Praise the Lord God Almighty, Who is capable!

    Thank you Jesus!!

    Hallelujah!!

  30. “And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He never fails and never forsakes! When life seems to throw every curveball it can at us, these words should resonate in our hearts, He will not fail us and he will not forsake us. There is no reason to fear because we walk in His victory! I thank God for being a faithful God who always fulfills His promises. I pray we hold our heads up high and have faith, no matter what we may go through because we know we have the one true living God fighting for us daily, and His name is Jesus!!

  31. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

For 40 years the Israelites wondered in the desert at the side of Moses. This must be an emotional moment for them. They may have grumbled, stumbled, and complained, then nearly drove Moses insane, but they must have respected him to a level of understand God chose him to lead them. God chooses whom He wills and is a willing servant. Still I feel a sense of sadness and peace from Moses. All that he has gone through with them and now he gets to watch them leave him behind and walk into the promised land. Some people are put in our lives to lead us only so far. Then we have to chose what we will do with what they have taught us. He reminds them that God will go before them. No matter what happens and where God leads us, our job is never to lose his hand no matter who is by our side. Moses may have made a mistake that cost him as a leader but God allows him to watch them as they go. It’s much like a parent watching their kid go to school for the first time. It’s tough because emotions are high. But God will never leave or forsake either one. He tells us to be of good courage and strong so we must control those emotions and obey the Lord, for he has a purpose for us.

  32. I Love To Worship The Lord

    Deut. 31:19 (The song)
Moses speaks of the song as a “witness against” Israel. It follows an ancient Middle East pattern of an indictment, or rib, and also serves as a summary of the covenant detailed in the rest of Deut. Through the song Israel would see the validity of God’s later charges against His people and admit guilt.

  33. Deuteronomy Chapter 31.

Moses spoke to the people of Israel and told them he was 120 years of age and was too old to lead them. Joshua would now take over the reigns as their leader. He also told them they are not to cross over into Jordan River because God would do so on their behalf.

  34. 29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

We have to get a relationship with God for ourselves. The relationship our father have with God doesn’t matter, the relationship our grandparents have doesn’t matter. We have to learn how to fall down on our knees and call out for abba father for ourselves we have have to have a relationship with God for ourselves.

  35. 5 And the Lord shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

God wants us to be strong and not be scared. Follow the commandments that the Lord gives you and the Lord will never fail you even if you fail to the commandments. He wants us to not be afraid of him and he wants us to love him and bring more people to him.

  36. 2 And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the Lord hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
3 The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the Lord hath said.

There are times when we see the end of an era and are scared and frightened as humans. We aren’t sure what is going to come next or how anyone could take the place of the authority in our lives. But God always has a plan already in place and ready to set into action. He doesn’t see the end of an era, but the beginning of a new one. When someone steps down in their ministry in the church or decides to leave, we as humans think to the worst. “How will we do without this one person?”. . . “How will we step up?”. . . “Who could replace them?” Do not worry, do not fear, for God already has a plan in place and ready to be set in motion.

Moses has already seen the disobedience of the children of Israel. For even when he stepped away into the mountains to talk with God, when he returned they were doing all kind of foolishness!! More than one time!! I’m sure at that point he didn’t know what would happen after he passed and at 120 yrs old he was just tired and exhausted. To constantly be redirected a people that could not keep in the lanes and stay on the right track. They definitely gave Moses a run for their money. I pray that as for me and my house, that we are not known as a household that can not adhere to the voice of the Lord. I pray that we do not have the reputation that we are always veering away from the Lord, but instead we are known as a household that is always seeking after His face.

  37. 26 ‘Take this scroll of the Law . Put it next to the Covenant Box . There it will remain, so that you will remember. You will remember the bad things that you have done.
    Deuteronomy 31:26 EASY
    https://bible.com/bible/2079/deu.31.26.EASY

The Lord had commanded Moses to put the scroll of the law in the covenant box. He asked Moses to do that so that we would remember what the Lord our God has asked us to do, What the lord our God has commanded us to do. What he has asked us to do.

  38. “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, do not be afraid on what’s coming against you, for the Lord of God is for us then who shall be against us, And God also says that He will not be against us nor forsakes us.

  39. That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord , saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
    Deuteronomy 31:25‭-‬26 KJV

In all his days God directed and commanded that Moses lead the Israelites out of the hands of those that would come against them. Now at the end God is preparing Moses for what is to come of His people when Moses dies. Can the same be said for us today. I believe so: God loves us and doesn’t want to lose us to the wiles of the enemy or this world. Lord lead me this day.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
    Psalms 51:9‭-‬12 KJV

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord , hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Psalms 9:10 KJV
    #LIVEGIVEJESUS

  40. In this chapter the thing that came to my mind is that God told us to be strong and courageous. We as God’s people should be strong and courageous as one whole church, because we are one!! BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS POFW!!!

  41. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

God will not fail you. It is in him that we have true victory. By his power and his power alone, we can walk in that victory. We must learn to put the other things in our life behind us so that we can accomplish what God wants us to do.

  42. If I the are able to live that long and I needed to help people that were in need of help I would do the same thrhing!!!!

  43. The Power of Repeat

31 Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel: 2 “I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’ 3 The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. 4 And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. 5 The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God spoke to Moses and Moses told it to the people and called out Joshua and spoke the same word to him. Notice the Word did not change. Be strong and if good courage don’t be afraid. God is going before them and will plow the land to prepare the Land for them to possess.

Later in the chapter they wrote the law down and was told to repeat it to all the people and children every 7 years in the place God prepares.

This is one powerful chapter. There is power in the repeat. It would be easy to forget to rehearse the testimonies of God unto the ears of our children families and friends. Thinking oh they’ve head this before. Yet the reality is they need to hear it again. You never know how loud the noise the enemy has that is trying influence them to go his way. We must keep repeating the laws and blessing of God to others so that they see that God can deliver them. That they will see that God will go before them and prepare a way for them.

Moms dads youth young adults and children. So tell the World about the goodness of Jesus and after your done tell them again. Tell them until your blue in the face. Tell them until their worlds are turned upside down.

  44. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
    Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT

Fear can always discourage us or keep us from our next step or victory. We must always remember that we serve a great God and if we follow His Word He will always make a way and be with us

  45. “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/deu.31.8.nlt
Don’t ever be afraid to take a step of faith, Gods step is the first step we can’t see. We also have to remember his step is never the wrong step so when receiving a word from God cling to that word and hold onto it because it won’t leave you astray.

  46. 23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

We should all harken unto this charge because we should all be strong and of good courage when we lead others on their paths to what God has promised. He is with us always and he should be our strength and courage to spread the truth, uphold the gospel, and contribute to the kingdom.

  47. 8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
    ******
Praise God that it is not unknown to Him. He is already there. Our God is the one who goes before us, we can trust in His promise that He will lead and guide us. He will never leave nor forsake us, we are His people. I pray that together may we boldly and courageously step into the unknown.

  48. “And the Lord said to Moses: “You are going to rest with your ancestors, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:16‬ ‭NIV

For so long Moses had been telling them what God expects from them, the laws he has set before, and boundaries not to cross But even after all of the repetition they still didn’t do what God asked of them. How many times have we done the same with God, allowing him to speak to us but we only allow it to go in one ear and out the other.

  49. 11 When all Israel is come to appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

Read it to live it. We are to read this law. Read this book of the commands and precepts of the Lord. We are to read it before everyone even the stranger in our land. This word is for all to hear and they may learn to fear the Lord. We should not think it twice to open up this book of life. The world is not ashamed to open up their agenda and stands. So stand strong and read loud. Read that the people may here of this powerful word that changes lives.

  50. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have no reason to fear when we are going though our test & trials. God made the ultimate sacrifice for us when he died on the cross for our sins. He loved us that much that he gave his life. If god can do that there is nothing he can’t do. So we have no reason to fear or worry. Pray about it don’t worry about it. If you’re going to pray don’t worry if you’re going to worry don’t pray. You can’t do both!

  51. Moses is ready to check out but that doesn’t mean Gods plan is going to stop. Joshua is ready and prepared to take over the reins to the plan of God. Gods plan is not contingent upon anyone but God himself. If for some reason the man fails, Gods plan keeps marching on. No one is indispensable in the Kingdom. The purpose outweighs the servant .

  52. “”Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid of them. Don’t be terrified because of them. The Lord your God will go with you. He will never leave you. He’ll never desert you.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

In life we face challenges that seem overwhelming. And especially when you are a Dreamer. Dreamers fulfill God’s will. God’s will is bigger than us. His will cannot be accomplished by mere humanity. We need God to go before us and take control. This verse is very encouraging. It lets me know that I don’t have to be superhuman. It lets me know that it times things may seem overwhelming and I may be afraid. This passage of scripture gives me the encouragement I need to keep going. To look at fear face-to-face and have faith that God is with me and will never desert.

“The Lord is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need. He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters. He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid. You are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head. My cup runs over. I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23:1-6‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

“The person who rests in the shadow of the Most High God will be kept safe by the Mighty One. I will say about the Lord, “He is my place of safety. He is like a fort to me. He is my God. I trust in him.” He will certainly save you from hidden traps and from deadly sickness. He will cover you with his wings. Under the feathers of his wings you will find safety. He is faithful. He will keep you safe like a shield or a tower. You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night. You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day. You won’t have to be afraid of the sickness that attacks in the darkness. You won’t have to fear the plague that destroys at noon. A thousand may fall dead at your side. Ten thousand may fall near your right hand. But no harm will come to you. You will see with your own eyes how God punishes sinful people. The Lord is the one who keeps you safe. So let the Most High God be like a home to you. Then no harm will come to you. No terrible plague will come near your tent. The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you. They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won’t trip over a stone. You will walk all over lions and cobras. You will crush mighty lions and poisonous snakes. The Lord says, “I will save the one who loves me. I will keep him safe, because he trusts in me. He will call out to me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in times of trouble. I will save him and honor him. I will give him a long and full life. I will save him.””
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91:1-16‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  53. 23 The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you.”

No matter what God has promised you, He will be with you in every step. When things get hard He will be there. In order to see the fruit of something we have to plow the land, plant it, nurture it, and wait. The Lords promises shall happen no matter how long it will take.

Isaiah 40:31 -“but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Romans 12:12 – “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation,be constant in prayer.”

Psalm 27:14 – “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
