Psalm 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

  1. Verses 14-16 MSG “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party. I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!” If that don’t make you sing, shout and dance about; I don’t know what will….you might just check your pulse!! My God is good, my God is great and my God saves….Hallelujah. We need to have that face-to-face relationship that Moses had with the Lord, not letting anything separate us from hearing His voice or distract us from obedience to His Word.

    Proverbs 29:18 MSG says “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”

  2. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

    15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

    16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

    I don’t need a long life to know who’s my God, His name was call upon my name along time ago And he has kept me out of trouble many times. And I have called his name many times, He Honor me with his answer Just in time.

  3. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
    Psalms 91:13‭-‬15 NLT

    Strong and courageous

  4. 5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

    6. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

    Fear not the night.
    Fear that which walks the night.
    And “I” am that which walks the night.
    But only evil need fear me …
    And gentle souls sleep safe in their beds…
    Because I walk the night.
    – Lt. Col Dave Grossman

    We don’t have to be afraid of the night, but with God’s Spirit within us, those that would do evil in the night should be afraid of us.

    1 John 4:
    4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

    18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

  5. Psalm 91: 1-2-3 [Amp] He Who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty
    [ Who power no foe can withstand]
    [2] I will stay of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely , and in Him I [ confidently] trust!
    [3] For [ then] He will Deliever you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
    The Lord will open up blind eyes, He heals the broken hearted and blinds up their wounds [ curing their pains and their sorrows].He heals minds and hearts. There is nothing he can’t heal! Praise the Lord and shout with the voice of triumph.

  6. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    God cares just as much about your private walk with God as he does your public. It’s not enough that we just go to church to praise , worship and say Amen. it’s not enough just to serve in his kingdom, it’s about a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ respecting his deity and all that he is spending time with him in that secret place.

  7. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
    Trust his word and have faith that he is your protector. Just because we can’t see it, but you can feel his presence.

  8. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

    4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

    I remember my mother would read this to me when I was scared during storms and in the dark. It would always calm me and give me peace. Thank you Lord for being a hiding place when storms surround us.

    It may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You.
    This is how I fight my battle!

  9. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
    10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
    11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    Sounds like a pretty clear promise to me. Thank You Lord for keeping me!

  10. Psalm 91 The Message (MSG)
    91 1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
    spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
    Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
    I trust in you and I’m safe!”
    That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
    His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
    his arms fend off all harm.
    Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
    not flying arrows in the day,
    Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
    not disaster that erupts at high noon.
    Even though others succumb all around,
    drop like flies right and left,
    no harm will even graze you.
    You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
    watch the wicked turn into corpses.
    Yes, because God’s your refuge,
    the High God your very own home,
    Evil can’t get close to you,
    harm can’t get through the door.
    He ordered his angels
    to guard you wherever you go.
    If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
    their job is to keep you from falling.
    You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
    and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
    14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
    “I’ll get you out of any trouble.
    I’ll give you the best of care
    if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
    Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
    I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
    I’ll give you a long life,
    give you a long drink of salvation!”

    I had to copy all of the message version of these scriptures. There is so much in this chapter . Strength over the enemy , protection, guidance, rest in His presence in the night time.
    No matter what comes at me I must hold on to the this promise. There is nothing to fear. We live so many times below what God had intended for us . The following scriptures tell us how to have all of this and the anticipation of what is soon coming for our faithfulness.

    Get to Know Him There is a Great Big Party Coming

    4-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
    “I’ll get you out of any trouble.
    I’ll give you the best of care
    if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
    Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
    I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
    I’ll give you a long life,
    give you a long drink of salvation!”

    Hold on for dear life get to know Him. The only way I can get to know someone is to spend time with them .We live in such a fast paced world I believe we have lost the tru meaning of getting to know someone. It’s as if everyone wants a microwave experience or immediate results when God says get to know me. There is no way you can get to know someone without spending time with them. Knowing likes dislikes. The word says “If you will get to know me. “
    You say well I’ve lived for God a long time and I know Him. Seasons of life occur and there is still so much more to know about God. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read the entire Bible through or how many prayer meetings I’ve been in . At 8 years old I was filled with Holy Ghost and I thought as I grew older and older I knew everything about God . Yet this past year has brought me closer and closer in truly knowing God . I’m trading the word with more depth of meaning. Getting to know God even on a more personal level. You say how can you do that. It’s like marriage I was married 38 years shy 2 months . Yet I can tell you I was still learning more Nd more about love and my husbands. The more you fall in love with someone the more you get to know them. Oh the word of God filled with God’s love for us and all He says is in reality get to know Him .
    Do I truly know His likes His dislikes ? I learn more and more by reading over and over the written word . Like an old love letter you’ve held onto for years . You go back and read it over and over hoping to see something you missed .
    Oh He says I’ll give you the best of care .
    just get to know me . Then the grand finale Call He will be there throwing a big party with a drink of salvation! Just call He’ll be there! My heart understands more and more each day . Oh falling in love with Him knowing Him is more than I can ever explain.
    Live Jesus Give Jesus
    Get to Know Him
    Isaiah 26:3
    Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

  11. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    My GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! My brother in law ceased to live in my house one night he gave witness to an angel standing guard at my door in the middle of the night!!! The angel stood at my door looking away from the door like a soldier and as my brother in law got up to use the bathroom he came around their door and saw an angel of bright white lite standing guard as he took that first step towards the rr the angel turned towards him and his facial features changed as to make a stern face and my brother in law ran back onto the

    • *room HALELUJAH!!! I was asleep!!! GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! My brother in law and sister soon moved out LOL!!! MY GOD IS FAITHFUL!!!

  12. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    For the Lord has been my refuge and my protector from all evil. He has been everything to me. There is no God like Jesus, He is the all mightyand is in Him I trust.

  13. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

    This is an assurance for those that are children of God. If we have been born again of the water and the spirit, then we shall be safe in the arms of God. We have to make it our highest priority to make Jesus the number 1 priority in our life. Like the scripture states if we make the Lord our habitation and dwell in him, there isn’t anything or anyone that will come against you and cause you harm. I find the more that I serve God, the more he surprises me with his love and blessings.

    When we dwell in the refuge of the almighty we are safe. It is our job to go out and reach everyone that we can so that we can give Jesus. But we have to make sure that we are covered by his anointing and he has ordered our steps. We can not go out for our own agenda. We have to be kingdom minded.

  14. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

  15. 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

    God’s hand will be upon you. When we stay in the will of God, God will keep things away from us. In order to receive the promises of God we must follow the will of God. We must move forward through all things that come our way. It is in him that we find the victory.

  16. 1 Whoever stays in the secret place of the Most High God will remain under the shadow of the Almighty .
    2 I will say to the Lord , ‘You are my safe place and my strong castle . You are my God and I am trusting in you.’
    3 He, God, really will save you from the trap that the bird catcher hid. And God will save you from illnesses that cause death.
    4 He will cover you with his feathers . You will be safe under his wings . God will do what he promised. And he will be like big and small shields over you.

    The Lord our God is our shield our father our, protecter. He always watches over us and protects us from any harm that tries to come our way and tries to harm us, the Lord our God is always there for us when we need him. Even at times when you are hurting and are down and feel like you are giving up but God is still there for us, even though we don’t deserve him and all his love he has for us, he still loves us even though we give up and feel down and start losing faith ,God is still there for us helping us be strong and get through it. The Lord our God is always there for us no matter what.

  17. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    It’s in the secret places of God that the greatest revelation comes. The more God reveals to you the more it becomes your secure foundation and what shields you for the attacks of the enemy.

  18. Psalm 91 is my very favorite mostly because it encourages me that God is ALWAYS with me and that as long as I Love Him, there is NOTHING TO FEAR. He never promised that there would be no problems! He just said no matter what I will be there with you.

    1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    I prefer to live in His shadow that in any bright place in the world. This showed me that sometimes you will encounter a place of shadows in Him. But as long as I abide in Him again NOTHING can harm me. That shadow you might be in might not be necessarily a bad thing. People always relate shadows with evil, but of God says we can abide in His shadow then before you start blaming the devil for that shadow you better inspect it and discern who owns it!

    14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
    You want His benefits LOVE HIM! You want to be in Him then KNOW HIS NAME!!! His NAME IS JESUS!!! You can call His name anytime, anywhere, and He will never leave you nor forsake you!

    15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
    Again it is obvious that no matter how much we love Him, obey Him, troubles will come but when we CALL ON HIS NAME EVERYTHING CHANGES AND TROUBLES WILL FLEE.

  19. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    We must trust in God more than men.

  20. iLove Jesus
    Psalms 91:1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    This has always been a dear Psalm to me. I always thought David wrote this Psalm but since David is not born yet and we are reading the Bible in chronological order I would be guessing Joshua wrote it (since Moses is dead). Regardless of who wrote it (possible Moses wrote it before he died), it is a Psalm of promise for us today. We can stand on the Word of God and declare His promises and not be afraid of anything that comes our way.

  21. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life.
    Proverbs 9:10‭-‬11

  22. God is our armour in battle, our peace in a storm, our healer when we are sick, comforter when sick,he is our all in all

  23. 91:15 he shall call upon me, , and I will answer him
    I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

  24. Habitation: the state or process of living in a particular place; a place in which to love, a house or home.

    We must dwell or live in that place continually with him, not leave him and try to live in the world, then come back to him. It is the place where we are always with him in mind and spirit no matter where we are.

  25. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    LIVE JESUS

    9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

    LIVE JESUS = Made the LORD thy habitation.

    The word HABITATION means dwelling or retreat. The place we go for rest and protection. The message here is that when we run to and abide in JESUS for every need and in every situation. We are recipients of HIS promises of PROTECTION and PROVISION.

    The question we must all answer is where or who do we run to? Who do we trust to supply all our need? Is JESUS my habitation? Is JESUS with me? Am I with JESUS?

    We should stop throughout the day and ask ourselves these questions. When JESUS is our habitation then HIS promises are our PROTECTION and PROVISION.

    LIVE JESUS, make HIM our habitation and then we can GIVE JESUS.

  26. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

    God has us covered. He will send us, but he shields us round about. He simply desires us to trust in him and stay under our covering. Arrows may fly by night and the enemy may try to strike by terror, but our God will keep us from harm. We have no reason to be afraid for God is thwarting ever attack. The victory is the Lords.

  27. 9 Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,
    Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
    10 No evil will befall you,
    Nor will any plague come near your tent.
    11 For He will command His angels in regard to you,
    To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

    Here is the obedience word again! God has great and precious promises for His children but they all hinge on obedience. If things are tipsy turby in our world we need to bend our knee at an altar and ask God to search our hearts.

    We can be recipents of The Blessed life but it comes with a price of obedience and submission to God. Nothing in life is free and neither is the favor and blessings of God. If we truly love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength then obedience will come easy

  28. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
    3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

    We always have to put our trust in the Lord. He is our comfort, our safe haven, a house to run to. I love passages like this that confirm and bring back to our memory our comforts and truths.

    11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    I always pray just this over my children. I learned from my parents that would always pray over us a hedge of protection and angels to encompass us. I now pray the same over my own children.

    15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
    16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

  29. Psalms 91:14 (MSG)
    If you’ll hold on to me for dear life, says God,
    I’ll get you out of any trouble.
    I’ll give you the best of care
    If you’ll only get to know and trust me.

    Get to Know and Trust in JESUS and Hold On to HIM for Dear Life. For when you do, You’ll be in the Best of Care!!

  30. I Love To Worship The Lord

    (Ps. 91:1-2) The psalmist testifies to the benefits of trust in God.
    (Ps. 91:3-13) God and his angels guard the believer.
    (Ps. 91:14-16) The Lord Himself promises protection.

  31. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    When I think of this scripture I think about how God put Adam to sleep and created Eve. In the moment Adam was resting God was in a creative mind and made him a “helpmeet”. Well Glory! When we are in the secret place of God He allows us to rest in Him and He also is creating our help while we rest. Don’t fear the hard places of life. Find the secret place, rest, and allow God to send your help.

  32. 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    This is one of my favorite verses and truthfully I sit here meditating, thinking asking God what shall I write….. but I can’t help to think on a personal note Lord how will I move on from current and private situations. It’s really so easy to get caught up with the worries of our lives and any issues of the day. Let alone the issues of this world, and yet I know that if I dwell too much on all that I have going on that it is just going to create anxiety in me and having all that in my spaghetti brain I know I will end with up so much stress and a mountain of uncertainty. I read this chapter and I am reminded that Gods’ got me! It’s in His safe place that brings confidence so when we are resting is God’s shadow we will never face the full trouble of our difficulties. He really does shelter us from the pain. His shade and His shadow truly diminish what we are actually facing in the heat of trouble. Rest, peace, and calm rise up strong right in the struggling mess of our live, and we’re assured, that GOD is in control of it all, so I chose to dwell in His presence and I chose to rest in Him. I chose to LiveJesus so that I can GiveJesus…. Lord thank you for today’s encouragement.

  33. Abide in Him!

    1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  34. Salmos 91:14-16
    “Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su amor, yo también lo libraré;
    Le pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi nombre.
    Me invocará, y yo le responderé;
    Con él estaré yo en la angustia;
    Lo libraré y le glorificaré.
    Lo saciaré de larga vida,
    Y le mostraré mi salvación”

    * “Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su amor”
    Aquí Dios está hablando de la promesa y bendición sobre SU pueblo. Él habla específicamente de aquellos que han puesto su amor en Él. Se ha hecho notar de una manera maravillosa , hablando al l pueblo de Dios.

    * “Por cuánto en mi ha puesto su amor ” :
    El poner el amor en Dios significa en hacerlo por elección. No esperar a que el sentimiento de amor llegue o no, sino que simplemente elige en pensar y actuar hacia Dios en maneras para expresar y construir amor. Esto podría incluir:

    · Pasar tiempo con Dios

    · Escuchar a Dios

    · Leer lo que Dios ha escrito hacia el amado

    · Hablar con Dios

    · Pensar en Dios en tiempos no afanados

    · Adorar a Dios

    · Hablando de Dios hacia otros

    · Dando a Dios y haciendo sacrificios agradables ante Él

  35. Psalm 91:2
    I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:
    91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.,
    91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
    91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
    91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

    God loves us and will protect us as long as we do our best and keep his commandments. “He shall cover thee with his feathers”.

  36. 14The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

    So friends let’s not be ashamed that we are God’s people for we know that if we trust on the Lord He will rescue us and protect us, and when we call on the name JESUS he be with us in trouble and He will take us out of that trouble and He will honor us and will give us internal life with the lord and He will give us his love and salvation. Let be proud to proclaim the name of Jesus!
    ‭Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  37. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
    Psalms 91:1‭-‬5 KJV

    Thankful that The LORD keeps me under the shadow of His wings❤❤

    He is faithful!!!

  38. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
    if we set our love and everything else to him, he will bless us and care for us immensely because we set everything before in his name.

  39. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

    This describes a way God may send His protection and care unto His people – through His angels. God may care for His people through His servants we know as angels, commanding them to keep and bear… up His people.

  40. When I forgot my name Jesus you delivered, covered me with YOUR feathers, Your shadow is what I saw, Your wings are what I felt, Your voice is where I heard YOU call me CANDACE CANDACE CANDACE

    If fear was our enemy why do we welcome it when when alone instead of standing strong in Jesus

    It’s hard to read this chapter when you feel like you walked into a snare knowingly and I think to myself why would God save me bring me out of a snare that I knowingly walked into? Then I think to myself THATS MY FATHER, MY GOD JESUS….I’m sorry for not trusting You, I forgot my name in the river of tears I was crying for myself instead of trusting YOU

    [3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

    [14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

    **Deuteronomy 3:22 KJV
    [22] Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall fight for you.

    1 John 3:13 KJV
    [13] Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

    1 John 3:16 KJV
    [16] Hereby perceive we the love of God , because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

  41. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

    4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day

    I remember hearing this scripture all my life, and even though as a kid there is a lot we dont understand, i clearly remember the Peace I felt! I can still here this scripture being quoted by my father….and i praise God for His promisses. HE is our shelter! No space for fear.

  42. In Jewish thought, Psalm 91 conveys the themes of God’s protection and rescue from danger. The Talmud (Shevu’ot 15b) calls this psalm the “song of plagues” (shir shel pega’im or shir shel nega’im), for “one who recites it with faith in God will be helped by Him in time of danger”.

  43. “Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Look at that.
    When you put him first nothing can take you out. When you put him first no evil befall thee. God will make a way and that’s a fact.

  44. 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

    11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

    His angels will protect us so much that we wont even stub our toe. God is so good!!!

  45. This I declare about the Lord : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
    Psalms 91:2 NLT

    To make a declaration is to be absolutely certain about who you believe in. We need to live this every day and know that no matter what my God will protect me and provide for me.

  46. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

    One of my most favorite verses in the Bible. Such a beautiful reminder of God’s protection over us. No matter what we face we are covered under His wings! I grew up with these verses and I thank God, that no matter what I’m going through. Psalms 91 is my to-go verses that give me strength to face my situations and remind me that He is my fortress!

  47. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

    10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

    11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    They key to this chapter we see in verse 9. Making the Lord your habitation. Your dwelling place the place where you live. In one word relationship. The place where you are you, is your home. Where you let all the guards down and connect with the people that live there. It’s a safe place and you know who lives with you and they know you. What we are being shown here is a close relationship, a place where you abide in God. Then the Lord will be your covering, your protection. And truly then you could say if God is for you who can be against you.

  48. Psalm 91:1,2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress : my God; in him will I trust.

    Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
    Psalm 142:5 I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

    Thank God for His faithful protection!

  49. “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Yes, we can see what is happening around us, we know the darkness surrounds us, but that’s it! We only SEE, we aren’t affected by it at all! So no matter what we see, keep on moving, we are protected by God!

  50. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    So many times we forget that it is His truth, and not our version of what we think the truth might be, is our shield and buckler.

  51. Once you have it, you have it

    4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler

    Now that I know the truth, no one can talk me out of it. Knowing the truth and having it protects us from lies if the world.

  52. 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

    To abide under the shadow of the Almighty, we need to dwell in His secret place. It’s in prayer where we’ll find connection and intimacy with God.

  53. “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Remember to call His name, Jesus. There is power in His name, healing in His name, deliverance in His name … the list goes on and on. He has many titles but only ONE name. Thank you Jesus for dwelling inside of us and being our guide. I pray Jesus become our most used word in our vocabulary!

  54. “When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.”(Psalms‬ ‭91:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    The Lord wants us to call on his name he doesn’t want us to be struggling with life situations. He said he will answer our call and rescue us from trouble because our God loves us so much.

  55. “Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    The psalmist represented all kinds of destruction that could come in all kinds of circumstances. It could come by night or by day, in darkness or at noonday. It could come as terror or by arrow, as a pestilence or as destruction. Whenever or however it comes, God is able to defend His people.

    LIVE . GIVE . JESUS

    • It is through the darkness that we see if we are on the correct path. It is through the darkness that we show our faith as we can’t walk by sight. Even though the darkness may be had and scary, God is always with us.

  56. 1.He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    2.I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    You got to have that personal relationship with god. Not just a relationship when you are in the church but when you are at home alone. We can’t just have a relationship with god 50% of the time but must be fully for him.
