Joshua 10

Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.

Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem, sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.

10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lordhearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

15 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

16 But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.

17 And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.

18 And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

19 And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath delivered them into your hand.

20 And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.

21 And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

22 Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.

23 And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

26 And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave’s mouth, which remain until this very day.

28 And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

29 Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

30 And the Lord delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

31 And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:

32 And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

33 Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.

34 And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:

35 And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

36 And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:

37 And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.

38 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:

39 And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.

40 So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.

41 And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.

42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

43 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

  1. 42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

One of the biggest mistake we make throughout our lives is that we don’t utterly destroy our enemies. Once we think we can “control” that one sin we leave it alone and we don’t destroy it by laying it at His feet. We keep thinking that’s nothing to worry about, we have it under control, I can’t quit any day. Days go by and we fail yet again. Only because we don’t allow JESUS to destroy the yoke. After all in Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
It is Jesus Anointing that destroys the yoke. Let the kings in your life be utterly destroy by The King of kings!

  2. Verses 7-8 MSG “So Joshua set out from Gilgal, his whole army with him—all those tough soldiers! God told him, “Don’t give them a second thought. I’ve put them under your thumb—not one of them will stand up to you.” Verse 25 NLT “Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua told his men. “Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is going to do this to all of your enemies.” Talk about “See It”, “Say It” and “Seize It”. Joshua along with everyone around them “saw” how God was with them through every victory. Then Joshua “told” his men exactly what the Lord said to be strong and courageous as they “took” the Southern Cities. Hallelujah…..LIVE-GIVE JESUS!

  3. Wow!!! What a chapter 🙌🙌🙌
God heard prayer, God guided his people, God talked to them, God affirmed them, God showing his wonders, God giving petitions, God always there for them.
    God is the same!!!
    God is the same!!!
His powers has not changed, He is still showing his wonders, He hears, and do what we ask, God is for us, yes, He is for us.
…he said it, will he not perform it?
Is there anything to hard for the Lord?
I tell you, if you had faith a, you can tell this mountain, move and it shall be moved.
….BECAUSE THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, FOUGHT FOR ISRAEL.
    Praise God.🙌🙌🙌🙌

  4. 39 And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
40 So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.

Just as quickly as they lost battles for disobeying oh, God gave them victory after victory as long as they were in covenant with the Lord. This is the main reason I have to give glory to God anytime prosperity is in my life. I’ve become arrogant on multiple occasions and immediately started losing things. As Paul said I count all things as dung except for knowledge of Christ.

  5. 24 When they brought them out, Joshua told the commanders of his army, “Come and put your feet on the kings’ necks.” And they did as they were told. 25“Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua told his men. “Be strong and courageous, for the LORD is going to do this to all of your enemies.”

This is what we have to do to the enemy. Put your foot on his neck and don’t let up. Once you do, you have control/power over the enemy. Always be strong and never lose courage, for God is with you.

  6. Joshua 10
but Joshua defeated him and his army—until no survivors were left.

The battle rages and we cannot quit fighting. Joshua fought until there were no survivors. Every tactic the enemy uses against you must be defeated. What ever your battle is there can be no survivors. Each thought that is not from God must be replaced with the written word of God . Spoken words of affirmation praise to God. The enemy can be defeated . Joshua had an army of people. The joined together to defeat the enemy. There are some battles we can fight and will fight alone but there are others where help will be needed . The enemy can be destroyed. It’s time to cast off a prideful spirit and ask for help .

On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:

7 So Joshua marched up from Gilgal with his entire army, including all the best fighting men. 8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”

Joshua reassured them they could win the battle . God showed up miraculous.
God will show up in the midst of your battle. There is strength in unity and power that can be obtained. All the enemy can be destroyed defeated .

Today the sun can stand still in your battle there can be strength gained .

The battle can be won in Jesus name.

    “Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
    and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on[b] its enemies,

    Sun
    Light and strength
    SON
    LIGHT AND STRENGTH

    Live Jesus

An old old song just came to my mind
Sunlight sunlight in my soul today

    1
I wandered in the shades of night,
    Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
    Bid all my darkness flee.
Sunlight, sunlight, in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight, all along the way,
Since the Savior found me, took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.
    2
Though clouds may gather in the sky,
    And billows ’round me roll,
However dark the world may be,
    I’ve sunlight in my soul.
    3
While walking in the light of God,
    I sweet communion find;
I press with holy vigor on
    And leave the world behind.
    4
Soon I shall see Him as He is,
    The Light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
    Throughout eternity.

  7. Joshua 10 :25 [Amp] Joshua said to them , Fear not not be dismayed; Be strong and of good courage. For thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom you fight.
God is fighting for us, He is on our side, pushing back the darkness. Halula praise God.
1 John 4:18 [Amp] There is no fear in love [ dread does not exist], But full – grown ( complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [ so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [ is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].
If God be before us than who can be against us.
Thank you Jesus for our love.

11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

The result of prayer and obedience is displayed for us to witness. Because Joshua listened to the voice of GOD he finds himself as a target of the adversary. However the adversary is not ready for or even aware of the warfare that GOD has prepared for them.

While Joshuas enemies are watching for the sword of Joshua GOD drops hail stones on them and wipes out more than Joshua could with the sword.

LIVE JESUS is a life with JESUS who can use everything HE created to assist, guide and win in battle.

  9. There are a few things in this chapter that should bring us Encouragement today.

    1) We Don’t Need To Be Afraid Of Our Enemies, For The LORD Has Given Us The VICTORY Over Them.
vs. 8 (NLT), “Do not be afraid of them, the LORD said to Joshua, for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you.”

    2) GOD Is Fighting For Us.
vs. 10 & 11 (NLT), “10) The LORD threw them into a panic, and the Israelites slaughtered great numbers of them at Gibeon. Then the Israelites chased the enemy along the road to Beth-horon, killing them all along the way to Azekah and Makkedah. 11) As the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth-horon, the LORD destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword.”

    3) The Enemy is Under Our Feet.
vs. 24 & 25 (NLT), “24) When they brought them out, Joshua told the commanders of his army, Come and put your feet on the kings’ necks. And they did as they were told. 25) Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged, Joshua told his men. Be strong and courageous, for the LORD is going to do this to all your enemies.”

So today, remember: Don’t be afraid; Be Strong and Courageous; The LORD has given us the VICTORY; GOD is Fighting For Us; and the enemy is Under Our Feet!

  10. The five powerful kings were no match for King Jesus and Joshua and the mighty men of valor. They turned tail and hid in a cave and eventually were killed and buried in the cave.

With God on our side our enemies have no chance either. The key here is Joshua was obedience in approaching war with the plan of God. We like to do things our own way and that causes us sometimes to lose the battle. If we will just fight Gods way we will be victorious.

  11. 9. Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.

    10. And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

    11. And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

When God sees that you are doing all you can do, He will step in and make the difference.

  12. 24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

Joshua stressed their victory through God by having these men step on the necks of their enemy. War isn’t pretty, but confidence in God is critical in this war. They were instructed to utterly destroy these nations because if not, they will raise up and come back to haunt God’s people later in time. Obedience is key to lasting victory!

  13. 8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

This is what our mighty God does for His people. When we are submitted to God’s will, there’s no army or devil that can destroy you! In this chapter we read how one army destroyed all the armies that united together to destroy God’s people. As children of God it is stated and promised to us… A thousand shall fall at thy side, and 10 thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. God has given us the power to defeat the enemy and conquer this land. Don’t be afraid, be courageous for the Lord is with us. This is our region! Let’s arise and conquer it!

  14. “On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭10:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Seeing God’s miraculous hand in action gave Joshua the boldness to ask God for an even more remarkable miracle. Let the Sun stand still…. now this totally made my head spin a little because if I remember correctly from my school days, the Sun stands still and earth 🌍 rotates. So this was and even grater miracle because we know earth need to rotate to keep gravity. Right?
To me, this was like brother Foster says WOW!!!
I don’t know about you but this put my imagination to go beyond of what happens on that Day.

There are many articles that speak of what really happened on that day. Immanuel Velikovsky suggested that the long day was caused by the near pass of a comet, that was powerful enough to tilt the axis of the earth. “The tilting of the axis could produce the visual effect of a retrogressing or arrested sun; a greater tilting, a multiple day or night.” In addition, more modern astronomy tells us that the sun is in motion; perhaps the sun did literally stand still.
Now what ever the experts say or astronomy said or think, I believe that anything that happened on that day was only the hand of GOD AT WORK.
That’s gives me the confidence and the affirmation that my God can do anything to fight my battles.

    🎵 🎶 MY GOD CAN DO ANYTHING 🎵 🎶

    LIVE . GIVE. JESUS

  15. Joshua 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Thank God who always intervenes and wins our battles.
Joshua was assured of God’s presence in Deuteronomy 3:21 And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.

  16. I know it was not right for him to kill people but he did. Some people do that stuff and later they know that they did something wrong…

  17. 12Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

14And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

Know this that God is God and he has complete control in his hands. I find that he cause the sun to stand still and the moon not to move. What great power that was shown for Joshua that battled against their enemies. The mighty men of valor slew all the enemy while it was yet day.

I find that we have access to the power that Joshua possessed that very day. It is in a close relationship with the mighty God. We have to remember that as long as we are obedient to him and heed his word we will have access to the anointing and the power. If God be for us then who in this world can come against us. I find that we should not worry with the cates of this world. We have to set our minds on the eternal. Live Jesus to give Jesus.

  18. iLove Jesus
6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

Quite amazing how these folks not only received life through covenant with Joshua in the previous chapter, but now when they are attacked they call Joshua and Joshua saves them again. Joshua could have let them be destroyed, but because of the covenant he had made he helped them.

This is the reason why so many of us are helped even when our motives might not be the best and also when we are in the wrong. God has filled us with the Holy Ghost and we are in covenant with him. Just because God defends us don’t mean we have been perfect, it just means we are in covenant with him. We all need to work out our own salvation each day and strive to be better.

  19. 24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

  20. Joshua 10:13-14

    13) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whose day.

    14) And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD heartened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

    Word of knowledge:
In the same way the Lord God Almighty will fight for the POFW.

    Hallelujah!!

Praise be to the Lord God Almighty!!!

  21. Several miracles happened in this chapter. The sun stood still and more enemies were killed by hail stones than by the sword. Joshua asked God to help the Gideon’s and the Israelites conquered their enemies and gained more land. I kept thinking of the phrase “If God is for us then who can be against us. ” God truly loves his people as it is shown over and over what He did for the Israelites. He also performs miracles today.

  22. 7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

This is going on today in our time!!! Which side are we actually on? Our life and relationship should reflect what size we are on

  23. Joshua 10

Joshua and the men of Israel were deceived into making a treaty with the men of Gibeon because they sized things up by appearance and did not inquire of the Lord. Now we see how soon this treaty began to get them into trouble

THE CONFEDERACY THAT WAS FORMED AGAINST GIBEON.
    A. The king of Jerusalem called on four other kings to join him in a battle against Gibeon because of the covenant they had made with Israel.

JOSHUA RECEIVED ASSURANCE FROM THE LORD.
    A. I love the way the word of the Lord can give us assurance when we are faced with problems and difficulties.

THIS IS THE PART OF THE STORY THAT STUMBLES MANY PEOPLE.
    A. If this stumbles you and you have a hard time believing it, it is because your concept of God is too small.

    • If the heavens are the work of His fingers, if He stretched them out as a curtain, then stopping the earth from spinning on its axis for a day, and then beginning it spinning again would be no big deal.
      2. It is very interesting how that man has to always try to invent some naturalistic way by which God has done the things attributed to Him in the scriptures.
      3. With the Jordan stopping its flow at flood time long enough to allow the children of Israel to cross into the land, people imagine that upstream there was probably a cave in of one of the steep banks of the Jordan River that caused an earth dam to stop the flow of the water for a period of time.

  24. I Love To Worship The Lord
    10:24
The image of the victors feet placed on the neck of defeated enemies is also seen ln Davids psalm of praise to God who armed me with strength for battle You made my adversaries bow at my feet

  25. 42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

43 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

“All these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel. And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.”

We as a church, have heard the voice of God speak to us through his word and his servants, that we need to conquer Fort Worth. He has given it to us, we just need to take it! But as leaders we need to do the same thing as Joshua and take it, because God is already working with people in Fort Worth. All we need to do is go and take it! Love Jesus! Live Jesus! Give Jesus!

  26. Wow! Talk about actions packed! Anyone who says the Bible is boring hasn’t read this chapter. This once again shows us the power that comes from obedience. Joshua and the children of Israel were obedient to the Lord’s commands and what does He do? He chases down their enemies and wipes them out with giant hail and the SPEAKS TO THE SUN AND MOON…..!!!!!! Tells them to hold up cuz Josh and his crew still have work to do. That is just hard core. That is the God I serve!! My God raises up a standard against my enemy!! YEEESSS!!!!

  27. 12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lordhearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel…..
God stepped in when Joshua started running out of daylight. He extended the day and shortened the night because the people of God followed His plan. How amazing is that….What a mighty God we serve!! If God is for us, who can be against us? The God who fought for Israel helps us to face all that comes our way. By His power we are more than conquerors Romans 8:37

  28. 25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

We must learn to speak what was spoken to us, put in us, and shown to us. God has shown His faithfulness to this promise over and over again. The promise that He will fight for them and for them not to fear but be strong and courageous. Now Joshua speaks it to others. When God has shown Himself faithful to what He has spoken we must give others what He has given us. God gave Joshua a word of strength and courage and Joshua in return gives it to others. Let us live and give Jesus in 2020!

  29. 24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

When you stand with God, you have the power to put your feet on the neck of the things that try to hinder you. There is no need to be afraid of the things of the enemy because Gos is on our side. Let’s stand tall and be bold because God has already given us the victory.

  30. In this chapter God was preparing Joshua for battle. Joshua had all the best soldiers in his army. God told Joshua not to worry because God had a plan of attack against their enemies. When they were at war God put them opposing team in confusion, and Joshua and his army defeated them. I just want to let y’all know that whenever you are at war, you are not alone. God has always got your back. When God puts us to war for it good, trust me he had a plan! We just have to give God our hearts and minds in consideration that we trust him. TRUST IN THE LORD AT ALL TIMES POFW!!!!

  31. I learned the king of the Zanizadeck and the king Holum and the three other kings all of the five kings joined forces.

  32. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lordhearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

No other day like today… That earth shaking day you received your miracle.

  33. Fighting a losing battle

This chapter is a type of all those who raise themselves up against Gods servants even today. You watch when someone will come against the Pastor or the Church and it leaders, they will be destroyed. It just works that way. God is not slack in protecting his children. So I tell the devil and all his servants, you are fighting a losing battle. Let us remember who we serve and stand up with boldness in the face of our enemy. God has got our back.

  34. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
If the Lord said it then the Lord meant it.
Reading the full chapter we later see how easy it was for Joshua to take on all these people all because the Lord said. Now imagine if we went full force with that same attitude. Joshua was a man of Faith is what I’m seeing. This is a man that didn’t take anything the Lord said lightly. We shouldn’t either. This bible should be enough for us.

  35. “And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭10:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God fought for Israel. Israel had to do their part, but God fought for them. When the day was over they were all able to go to Gilgal.

There are times when things like they are too much for you. They might even be, but nothing is too hard for God. He is with us in our battles, and when he fights for me nothing can stop him. I have The victory because of him.

  36. “Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua told his men. “Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is going to do this to all of your enemies.
    Joshua 10:25 NLT

No reason to ever worry or fear – we have victory in everything we do according to His Will!

  37. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lordhearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.
15 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
16 But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.

It is amazing the power of Joshua’s ministry. Everyone always talks about Moses and his ministry and how great his works were starting with the plagues in Egypt, however, he could not say that he spoke and it was done as through the Lord. “. . . there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lordhearkened unto the voice of a man:”. It is not that either were greater or less than the other, but both great in their own way. It’s beautiful to see all the different ministries in different lights, and different times and miracles. Our ministries are similar. You can’t compare your ministry to someone else’s, because you will end up disappointed because we were made differently and have different purposes!

  38. 41 And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.

42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

43 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

No matter the size of the enemy. Whether big or small, if God is on your side and is fighting for you you will have the victory. As one obeys the commands then God will hear you and will even do miraculous things to ensure you fulfill all his words and commands.

  39. 12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

    What great faith!

  40. LORD said
    Fear them not

    Joshua 10:8 KJV
[8] And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

When God brings me into the grounds of the unknown, trust in God’s plan and commitment to prayer and worship Jesus through to victory

  41. “Now Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had taken Ai and totally destroyed it, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and that the people of Gibeon had made a treaty of peace with Israel and had become their allies. He and his people were very much alarmed at this, because Gibeon was an important city, like one of the royal cities; it was larger than Ai, and all its men were good fighters. So Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem appealed to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish and Debir king of Eglon. “Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said, “because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.””
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭10:1-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

King Jerusalem knew her couldn’t take of the Gibeon army with his own army alone so I created allows with those around him. The same concept goes with us and the devil. He n it’s he can’t take us on alone because of our ally with God so he’s going g to do his best to get others to come against you also rather him fighting alone. So when it seems like everything g is coming at you or wrong direction, no biggie, God will work it.
