Joshua 13

Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:

From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:

And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.

All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the Lord gave them;

From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;

10 And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;

11 And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.

13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.

14 Only unto the tribes of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.

16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;

17 Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,

18 And Jahaza, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19 And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley,

20 And Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth,

21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.

22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

26 And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

27 And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.

28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:

31 And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

  1. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

Wow ! no land but a whole lot of God!

  2. Verse 1 MSG “When Joshua had reached a venerable age, God said to him, You’ve had a good, long life, but there is a lot of land still to be taken.” Some may say “Well your church is already 17 years old, ya ought to sit back and enjoy your growth”; but, definitely NOT as there is a lot of land still to be taken and God has already allotted it to us. Proverbs 11:24 MSG says “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”

Joshua 18:3 AMP says “So Joshua asked them, “How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?”

Deuteronomy 1:8 AMP “Look, I have set the land before you; go in and take possession of the land which the Lord swore (solemnly promised) to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.’ Pastor just explained or went over our lineage; so let’s take the land!

  3. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

The best inheritance there is, the greatest gift we could ever receive! Just give me Jesus!

  4. Joshua 13 : 1 [Amp] Now Joshua was old and gone far in years [ over 100] , and the Lord said to him , You have grown old and are gone far in years, and very much of the land still remains to be possessed.
You never get to old to do something for Jesus! There is plenty of work to do for his kingdom. Work and Make heaven your home.
    And just give me Jesus!

  5. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
God wasn’t done with his work, Joshua had to keep moving forward to show God’s will.

  6. 14. Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

    33. But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

The reward for serving is the opportunity to serve again.
We don’t serve others to receive a reward, we serve because that is what God has called us to do. Our inheritance is not of this world but of His Kingdom.

This world is not my home
    I’m just a-passing through
    My treasures are laid up
    Somewhere beyond the blue

  7. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
Age is not an obstacle to still be used by God. We’re not done until God says so and I sure want to stay in His plans!
Like the song says ” If you can use anything Lord, you can use me”

  8. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri

There are still many blessings ahead of us! God has so many things planned for his people the only ones who can interrupt that are his people. I want to read a book that involved a man meeting up with Gabriel the archangel and Gabriel took this man into a building that was full of riches and pictures of families and everything that anybody could want, he told the man that this building belongs to the people who gave up on what God had wanted to give them. We have to continue thriving to be closer to God and keep pushing and he will continue to bless us

  9. Joshua 13
13 When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.

There is still work to be done. No matter what our age we must continue to serve in the Kingdom. Grandpa used to say he never retired just refired!
The city of Fort Worth is very large. Every night as I drive home I’m reminded as I look at the skyline. There are still very large areas of land to be taken. Not just Fort Worth but there are areas all around us that need someone to go and claim it for Jesus Christ. Yes I may be growing a bit old and feel it from time to time but there is still so much to do if we are going to our city. God will give us the strength and will direct our steps daily. Use your testimony to share how God has brought you through. The enemy will be defeated in Jesus name.

33 But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.

    God is our inheritance!
What else could anyone ask for ?

  10. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

We can see here that even though Joshua was getting old the work that needed to be done was still plenty. We can’t stop pursuing what God has for us to do. We must learn how to press forward in every situation we face. God is our strength and in him we find direction and peace.

  11. But Moses gave no allotment of land to the tribe of Levi, for the Lord , the God of Israel, had promised that he himself would be their allotment.

  12. Jos 13:32  These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

These past few days reading Joshua and seeing everything that still had to happen for these guys to receive their promise has been an eye opener for me. These countries that received their inheritance still had to go through something. We see a list of Kings and people well known in the Bible that were killed and slaughtered and challenged. But in the end here the word and the promise was still fulfilled. Whatever the odds may have been 1-10 or 10-1 God still perfected his will to be done using the hungry. The ones hungry for their inheritance hungry for victory. Joshu stoodfast on the word God had given him and kept on going head first. Here I was thinking everything was just handed to the Israelites but no they had to get after it. They had to WORK and so do we.

  13. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

    At verse

    Joshua 13:14
Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

    Numbers 18:20
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.

    Joshua 18:7
But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

    Deuteronomy 10:9
Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

    Deuteronomy 18:1,2
The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance…

God gave the Levite’s their inheritance. In Numbers 18 God says He will give them their inheritance from the tithes. The Levite’s would serve God and do what others were permitted to do at the tent meetings. To whom much is given much is required.

There is a special reward a special promise to the many labors of the Gospel all around the world. Your inheritance is God. You have a special obligation to God and the people and God will take care of your needs as You feed His sheep. I pray for pastors, evangelist, missionaries, and all others who labor in the church and are compensated monetarily but the greatest of their compensation is God!

  14. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed

Getting old is no fun but still a great blessing. Here Joshua it’s old but there is still land to possess. What do you do? Sit and wait for the younger generation or do we stand yet again and keep taking dominion. I think is both!!! We need to enlist the new generation, teach them, guide them, and stand with them in Jesus Name!! We all will step down at one time or another but it is imperative that we TEACH them so they can do greater things!! Thanks be to God!!!

  15. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

“This world is not my home
    I am just passing through
    Earthly treasure soon will fail
    But I found my hope
You are the one I want
You are the one I need
This world can have it all
    It can take everything
But give me Jesus … say

    Give me Jesus
    Give me Jesus
The one who broke these chains
    And took away my shame
There is only one for me

The only lasting thing is you
    You are forever
    Yoou are forever
You are the one that I run to
    ‘Cus you are my treasure
    You are my treasure}

    Heavens may fail
    But you remain
    You are my treasure
    You are my treasure
Heaven and earth will pass away
    You are forever
You are forever” – Give me Jesus, James Wilson

    INHERITANCE

33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

The tribe of Levi was the Ministry or those that serve the Lord in HIS Kingdom, doing HIS business. While others received temporal INHERITANCE, The SERVANTS received eternal INHERITANCE.

To those who serve in Ministry; I encourage you today with these words:

It may appear that “others” have it better than you, they may have more earthly possessions or resources. But, you have an eternal INHERITANCE, HIS name is JESUS and HE made everything and HE owns everything and HE is everything.

    What an AWESOME INHERITANCE.

1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

This statement reveals the obvious…people naturally get old. Wow! that’s deep. But this scripture also reveals something else as well. God’s will does not revolve around one particular person in general. Joshua was getting old but God’s will was to gain even more territory. The issue will be (as we will see) that Joshua does not have a minister that he is training to take his place. You see, Joshua was the minister of Moses, so when Moses passed Joshua took over. But Joshua does not have a minister so who is going to take over for him when he dies? As we shall soon read, there is no one to take his place and soon everyone will do what is right in their own eyes.

Let us train up those under us to conquer the land cause we aint getting any younger and there is still much land to conquer.

  18. 32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

There is no other better inheritance than the Lord our God. Jesus is the best we could ever get! Remember you don’t need anything better than the Lord. Follow his word.

  19. Get out of the way!

    6. I myself will drive them out before the People of Israel… MSG

How many times have we gotten in God’s way and prevented Him from doing what He wanted to do? I predict too many times to count. Maybe we took on a responsibility that God had not given us, or perhaps we tried to avoid a situation He wanted to use in our life to accomplish His purpose. Even when we sincerely desire to the right thing, we may unknowingly step over our boundary and become an obstacle to God.

That’s why it’s so important to seek the His guidance before we try to maneuver our way out of a difficult situation or rush in to fix a problem. Our plans often seem logical, reasonable, or compassionate, but if they don’t align with the Lord’s will, we are just getting in His way.

  20. 13:33 but unto the tribe of Levi, Moses did not give any inheritance, the Lord God if Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
    ——
    Wow!! Praise God🙌🙌
What a faithful, merciful, and loving God we serve.
Children are the Inheritance of God, .. but here God himself is the inheritance.
God is love. And he cares.

  21. Although Joshua was getting old, God was still making the vision plain in his eyes and heart. There were still victories to become. This demonstrates the importance of a vision. Without a vision the people perish. It also demonstrates you are never too old for God to use you.

  22. Joshua 13:1-2a
    1) NOW Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
    2) This is the land that yet remaineth:…

Yes, we believe God has given us the city of Fort Worth, BUT what about “the land that yet remaineth” – the regions around about us: Benbrook, Lake Worth, Aledo, River Oaks, Burleson, etc…
It just goes to show that no matter how old we get, we can’t quit, and we can’t give up for their is much land still to take and souls to be saved for the Kingdom of God.

  23. 29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

What a blessing…. The Levites had no financial inheritance but their inheritance could never be put in a monetary amount… For generations and generations!

  24. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

Many can say the inheritance that is promised to them will make them wealthy or even great in social standing. Many place their trust in money, houses, and cars. Even they place their trust in their careers of success. That is all well and good but in those people’s life I ask where is God? Where on the priority list is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords?

As the tribes of Israel were give the inheritance spoken by Moses when they were to cross the Jordan and the scripture states that Moses gave not an inheritance to the Levite’s. They had gotten God as their inheritance. I am quickly reminded if I have Jesus then there is not much more that I need because he will provide everything that will sustain me and my family. A roof over our heads, foods on the table, and most of all a friend that I can trust and depend on.

I’m in the mindset as Peter and John going to the temple to pray and saw the lame man begging alms. And they stated “silver and golf have I none, but such as I have give i thee”

As long as you have Jesus you are beyond rich, you are royalty. A chosen generation of peculiar people. We have the blood line of the king. We have an eternal inheritance, so we can give Jesus to those that have nothing and they can inherit much more than materialistic items. Live Jesus to give Jesus

  25. God is making provisions for when Moses is gone. God is ALWAYS looking out for us, why would anyone not choose to live for him?

  26. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri, tricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

Joshua was old and getting up in age, however, it did not stop him from still taking care of the Children of Israel as the Lord appointed him. Each of the leaders before him had done the same, Moses, Abraham, Jacob, all were leaders up to the end. They still served the Lord and kept his commandments until they had moved on, old age did not deter them, or slow them down into not serving the Lord.

  27. “When Joshua was an old man, the LORD said to him, “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered.

and the larger territory of the Canaanites, extending from the stream of Shihor on the border of Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron. It includes the territory of the five Philistine rulers of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron. The land of the Avvites in the south also remains to be conquered. In the north, the following area has not yet been conquered: all the land of the Canaanites, including Mearah (which belongs to the Sidonians), stretching northward to Aphek on the border of the Amorites; the land of the Gebalites and all of the Lebanon mountain area to the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath; and all the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, including all the land of the Sidonians. “I myself will drive these people out of the land ahead of the Israelites. So be sure to give this land to Israel as a special possession, just as I have commanded you. Include all this territory as Israel’s possession when you divide this land among the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.””
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭13:1, 3-7‬ ‭NLT

This passage of scripture demonstrates great leadership. The Israelites had already experience great victories and it would have been easy for them to lay back in their success but they did not stay in past victories their focus remained on victories to come. They did not settle for mediocrity.

  28. Josué 13:1
” Siendo Josué ya viejo, entrado en años, Jehová le dijo: “Tú eres ya viejo, de edad avanzada, y queda aún mucha tierra por poseer.”

    * “Tú eres ya viejo”

  29. 13 Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. 2 This is the land that yet remains:

Working with the elderly I have come to see many characters. Some strong yet weak minded and others not so strong yet determined and given their age I often see that they tend to limit their abilities. I ask myself at times, how will I be when I get to their age?¿ I don’t know but I’d like to think that with God’s help I will be determined to pursue Him in all that I do because there is much to do and none of us is finished with God’s work. Our body may appear older, but God is renewing our inside daily.
Thank you Lord, for the reminder of all that we need to do for you. Give us both physical and mental strength for each day as we work to conquer all that yet remains…Amen

  30. And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

    25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

    26 And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

27 And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.

  31. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

God told Joshua that he was old and therefore time was short and yet there was much left to be done.

For us the day of the Lord is approaching and therefore there is much for us to do for God’s kingdom and little time.

Paul said in 1Cor 7:29  But this I say, brethren, the time is short:

  32. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

God blessings are exceedingly beyond what our eyes can see. God is not done with us. No matter your age or circumstances. God is working on us to reach our blessings. What a beautiful promise we have, He gives us the strength day to day to continue and obtain what belongs to us. There’s still more to defeat but in Gods hands we are more than conquerors!

  33. 1 When Joshua was an old man, the LORD said to him, “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered.

Another example of God using someone of old age. He continued to use Abraham, Moses, and now Joshua. Never think that you are to young or to old to be used by God. There are many youth and elders who need to hear the Word of God, and you can be used by God.

  34. This is a great Word to see how the Lord Jesus knows the inheritance we should receive. And, we can see how the LORD fulfils His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their generations, their inheritance of the land.. Lucky, or I should say, blessed is the half tribe of Manasseh: they received Mahanaim!!

  35. Joshua 13:1
Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

It seems as if I am always running short on time. It is important for us NOT to run short on time for our Lord. Jesus is so good to us and we must always make time for Him!

  36. Many years later, the Lord told Joshua: Now you are very old, but there is still a lot of land that Israel has not yet taken.
    Joshua 13:1 CEV

It doesn’t matter the age you are. God still wants to use you for His Kingdom! Looking for willing vessels to WORK/SERVE. I know we can feel overwhelmed trying to balance everything in your life. Be careful not get caught up in working for self only.

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
    Matthew 6:20 KJV

  37. “When Joshua was an old man, the Lord said to him, “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered. This is the territory that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and the Geshurites,”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭13:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Even while acknowledging Joshua’s advanced years, God still tells him about a job that needs to be done. No matter how much we have done in our Walk with God, there still remains much to do.

  38. 13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.

  39. What do I fight for to inherit.

    Joshua 13:14,33 KJV
[14] Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

[33] But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

**the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them

    Hebrews 9:15 KJV
[15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

    Hebrews 9:20 KJV
[20] Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

  40. 14 Only unto the tribes of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

They were special, even the name Levi means “set apart” they had their inheritance, that was to take care of his house. They had no need for land because every land that was divided out was taken car of by the main house, Gods house, Gods temple. They didn’t need any land because they live in the big house. 🙌🙌👉👆🙌🙌

  41. Joshua 13

This Chapter means that, their was land that Israel needed to conquer, and The Lord gave land to Gad,Reuben, And Manneseh but didn’t give land to The Tribe of Levi for their were God’s Allotment.

  42. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

No one wants to hear, “you’re old and and still need pics

  43. 1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

When the Bible mentions that Joshua was old, in the Hebrew word here employed is used not so much in respect of the number of years men lived, but rather in regard to the weakening of the vital powers. That meant that Joshua was week and was not as strong as he was. The time had come to possessed the land God had promised them. There was no time to waste, because time was running out.
Just as God has spoken to us as a church to seize the city, we can’t waist time. The time is now to do God’s work. We can’t wait until tomorrow, the time is now. We must possessed the city.
This verse comes to my mind,
    Ecclesiastes 12:1
    Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the bad days come, and the years come, of which you say: I have no contentment in them;

  44. 33 Moses gave no land to the tribe of Levi. The Lord , the God of Israel, was their part. This is what he had promised to do for them.

    Joshua 13:33 EASY
    https://bible.com/bible/2079/jos.13.33.EASY

The Lord promised them an inheritance and they had something so much more than an inheritance. They had JESUS Christ the Lord and savior our father , our provider , our way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. Our God and only God! LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  45. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

    GREATEST INHERITANCE EVER!!!

  46. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

The Levite’s inherited the spiritual things but had nothing natural to show for it. It’s not in our suits and expensive ties, not in the blessings that we enjoy but the real treasure is in th relationship with the lord.

  47. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
Possibly the best gift you could get from God. His presence. His presence is that swift clear peaceful place. I’ll claim that inheritance any day!

  48. But Moses gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. God, the God of Israel, is their inheritance just as he told them.

Jesus is the best inheritance anyone could ask for.

  49. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LordGod of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.

Just as He said, he will do. What God says or speaks it is done. He is the word and all the creative power to do. In the beginning He spoke and it was done. Therefore it is still the same today. He does not change. He is the same yesterday today and forever. It may not just be that people dont believe he can. By nature and design, we all want to believe in a greater power that can do what we cant. It is on the process of time, or our lack of patience for it that becomes disheartening. If we can just be honest, some loose hope and stop believing it will happen because its has taken so long…. let’s remember the promise made unto Abraham. And in it all it was done. The people the sons of abraham were many and now they have a promise of their own, the promise land, to enter into his rest. Yet if God spoke it, it will be done.

  50. “Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Just because we get older doesn’t mean our promise is gone or that God is finished with us. Many people in a nursing home are old. That doesn’t mean that God stoops using them. They still can be baptized, get the Holy Ghost, repent, and help to make disciples. They still have much that remains the to be possessed. Little by little, even those who are confined to a building can reach the world around them.

  51. “When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.

This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, according to its clans:

This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, according to its clans:

This is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the family of the descendants of Manasseh, according to its clans:

This is the inheritance Moses had given when he was in the plains of Moab across the Jordan east of Jericho.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭13:1, 15, 24, 29, 32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“This is the land Moses had given to…,” every time Moses had possessed a land he gave it to a tribe as their inheritance. It was their land to til, their land to sow, their land to reap. And that’s exactly what Pastor is doing, he’s setting us up to take this region but in order to inherit it we have to be willing to buy into his vision and go forward with him. The land is there, it’s been promised already, are you willing to follow him as he follows God?

  52. 14) So the Levites’ inheritances were the sacrifices made to the LORD God of Israelby fire and the LORD God of Israel, Himself.

So our gifts as Chriistians are following the Holy Ghost in obedience and loving and holding on to the Lord our God, as well as following Him as Lord.

    Hallelujah!!

Praise the Lord God for giving us opportunities to show Him our love for Him as well!!!
