Joshua 14

And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.

By lot was their inheritance, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.

For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

As the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.

Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.

Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

  1. Joshua 14
’ 10 And now, look, the Lord has let me live, just as He said, these forty-five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, [b]look at me, I am eighty-five years old today. 11 I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war and for going out and coming in.

Lord your strength is perfect. I know that You are able to keep us strong to do all that you have asked of us. Spiritual strength. Mental strength. Physical strength. The ability to continue daily battles to be able to be the influence of leading others to You. In Jesus name.
    Psalm 29:11 ESV
May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

  2. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

The Lord hath kept me alive that’s for sure, And thank you Lord for your perfect and on time strength.

  3. In this chapter, Caleb was reiterating his promise to Joshua. He could see it, and he is now saying it; so he can possess it. We must stick to what we believe and have been promised, don’t lose heart. We cannot get deterred in any way, shape or form as verse 11 AMP says ” I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war and for going out and coming in.”

  4. 10. And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
    11. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
    12. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.
    13. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

Even if you have to wait years for it to come to pass, even if it’s because of other people’s mistakes; what God has promised you, is yours.

    1 Samuel 15:29
And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind! NLT

  5. Of the 10 spies, 8 came with a negative report that God called evil; but there was 2 that were willing to go take the land. Numbers 13:6 6Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes 7and said to the whole congregation of Israel, “The land we passed through and explored is an exceedingly good land. 8If the LORD delights in us, He will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and He will give it to us. 9Only do not rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the land, for they will be like bread for us. Their protection has been removed, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them!”
Why does evil runs faster through a congregation than goodness??? If only they would of listen to Joshua and Caleb they wouldn’t had to wonder through the wilderness.

Numbers 13: 10But the whole congregation threatened to stone Joshua and Caleb

7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

Caleb is not really saying I told you so or even complaining of the time he had spent in the wilderness. Here he shows what real faith is all about for he assertively states that no matter what was thrown in his life he had continued to serve God with all his heart.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

Caleb is claiming his mountain oh my! I can feel his faith, passion, and determination! Next time a big mountain gets in the middle just climb it!!! Put some effort into your promise!!!! Faith is action not just a feeling. Claim his promises for they’re yeah and amen 🙏🏻 Go! Live! Give Jesus!!

  6. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

God blesses those who are faithful and obedient to Him!

  7. Joshua 14 : 10 -11 [Amp] And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as,He said these forty- five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while the Israelites wandered in the Wilderness, and now , behold I am this day eighty- five years old.
[11] Yet I am strong today as I was,the day Moses sent me ; as my strength now for war and to go out and to come in.
Moses had great faith and was a servant for God.
    Caleb also had great faith.
Thank you Jesus for your great faith and your works.
Hebrews 11: 6 [Amp] Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Lift him up and praise him at all times.

Thank you Jesus for your strength and great faith.

  8. For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

5 As the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.

13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
Caleb could’ve easily left the hard work for somebody else because of his age. However he kept his great faith in God and God showed him the way. That’s what kind of spiritual life God wants for us, don’t depart from him when life gets tough, stay on the path that he’s set out for you. He will make a way for you, just keep faith!

14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

  10. ““Now, as you can see, the Lord has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭14:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
85 year old keeps his promise. NEVEE forgets what the Lord promised him. Many of us have been saved for years, then we ended up struggling because we tend to pick up a routine. We can’t get tired of Gods process. His process will be completed in due timing. Trust his small still voice.

  11. 10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

Our strength comes from the Lord! and He will not leave us or forsake us as long as we follow and obey his commands. So lets stay connected to Him. Live Jesus Give Jesus!

  12. Always always the Lord keeps his promises. So the word of God does not lie. So how much better can it get ? Living for God is the best!

  13. 14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

We continue to see the blessings for those that follow God. It is important to not hear what God is saying, but also follow what he has established. Our own wants will not get us to heaven. It is when following the commandments of God that we can see that beautiful place. We cannot sit idle any longer and expect someone else to do the work. We must be willing to do what needs to be done if we are to make it to heaven.

  14. Grace and Mercy

13-14 Joshua blessed him. He gave Hebron to Caleb son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite still today, because he gave himself totally to God, the God of Israel. MSG

What do you think of when you think about giving yourself as a living sacrifice to God? Do you think, why in the world would anyone want to do that? I can see giving God an hour or two on Sundays, at least if there’s nothing better to do. Maybe, if you have some extra time, like when you’re retired, you can volunteer to serve in the church. I can maybe see giving God ten percent of my income, if I have anything left over after taxes and the bills are paid. I can see where some of the super-dedicated types may want to be missionaries, at least for a while.

None of us can claim that God owes us salvation because of our good works or for any other reason. We’ve all disobeyed God thousands of times. We deserve His judgment. All that we can do is cry out to Him for mercy and grace. Motive is crucial in everything we do. Our motive for giving ourselves totally to God is crucial. The motive for giving yourself totally to God is that you have experienced His unwarranted mercies and abundant grace. Without it, all service to God is just moralism, based on wrong motives.

  15. 15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

It is important that we learn to rest after warring, even Jesus took time away to rest. Even though the Sabbath day commandment is not repeated in the New testament the principal is, we must learn to rest after the fight. The Bible tells us the joy of the Lord is our strength, and then it says in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy. saints of God need to learn how to rest in the Lord. Taking time away from fighting and resisting the devil to just be embraced and their father’s arms

  16. 7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

For more than forty years Caleb has kept his faith strong in believing the word of the Lord. From the moment he stepped into the promise land on a scouting mission, to wandering in the wilderness for forty years, and now to ask Joshua to give him the very piece of the promise which was spoken by Moses.

This chapter illustrates tenacity and determination for one who has wholly followed God. There was no detouring from the promise. Caleb’s faith was holding on to the view in which he saw so long ago. We have to look at Caleb and we can see our selves holding on for an eternal reward. We have to silence the naysayers and nonbelievers. We have to hold to the promise gave us at an old fashion altar being filled with the Holy Ghost. Be full of determination and strength. Like Caleb he was as strong at 85 as he was at 40. When you live Jesus, you can have the strength to make it through any valley and scale any mountain. This will allow you to be an example for some to give Jesus.

  17. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

God honors those who follow him wholeheartedly. He was not afraid to be bold. Caleb was 85 years old, he waited 45 years to receive what the Lord had promised and spoke through Moses. Just as Caleb we need to have a long term view of waiting on God to fulfill his promises. Lord, thank you for those men and women of faith who have held on until they have received their promise. Give us that kind of bold faith and patience as you did Caleb in Jesus name Amen!!

  18. iLove Jesus

11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said

Caleb wasn’t looking for an excuse to stay home and retire. Caleb was looking for his promise and he wasn’t going to let anything stand in his way of getting it…not even age itself. Caleb was one of them crazy Holy Rollers who would drive to church on iced roads and risk bodily inquiry just to receive his promise. There was no fear in this elderly man that would be able to keep him from what God had promised. No blizzard, no hail storm, no earthquake, no enemy, and no weapon would prosper against him.

  19. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

    Follow Wholeheartedly!

Following God should never be based on our feelings alone because they will fail us at times. We should always follow Him regardless of the circumstance, thought, or feeling. The only way we can live and Give Jesus in 2020 is by following God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

  20. 14:9 and Moses swarm on that day saying, surely the land
Whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance and
Thy’ en Children’s forever because thou hast wholly follow the Lord my God.
    ——
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME.
ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD.
    ——
Merciful, compassionate, faithful, slow to anger, yet great in mercy, God is kind, and he sees.
And all of these is shown to Caleb. ( and to us)

    Hallelujah 🙌🙌🙌🙌

  21. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    NEVER GIVE UP

The persistence to pursue a promise for 45 years is what Caleb demonstrates here. We do not have any insight into the thinking that goes Into this level of commitment and consistency. Other than Caleb chose to NEVER GIVE UP on the promise of GOD. I am confident there were days that the promise was a distant memory and dream.

But somewhere in the middle of the memory and the dream was a desire. A desire to possess the land that he had searched and that GOD had promised to him. No doubt the sweet taste of the milk and honey, along with those grapes were an impression on Calebs mind of the goodness of that land.

What promise has GOD given you, what sweet portions have you tasted of a promised land, position, or place. NEVER GIVE UP on what GOD has promised,

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGIve

  22. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

Caleb asked for and received his promise after Moses’s commanment to fight togther to claim the lands. He put the Lord’s will first, then asked for his promise. After being blessed to go take the mountain, Caleb still had a battle. Our promises may require us to follow Pastor’s vision first for 2020, then receive what our promises are. Dont be surprised if you have to battle the enemy to receive it. Satan wont give up easy, yet God’s word is true! His promises are yea and amen to us and it WILL come to pass! Praise God!

  23. Joshua 14:9
And Moses sware on that day, saying surely the land where on thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and they children’s forever, because thou hast wholly followed thy Lord my God.

God was fulfilling His promise to the Israelites. He was helping them to conquer the promised land. Even tho Joshua was old he did not fail God. As long as we persevere what God wants, it will happen.

  24. Joshua 14:2
By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

God can even and does control the numbers showing up on dice to give instruction and enlightenment!!!!!!

    Hallelujah!!

Praise be to the Lord God for His perfect control in our lives!!!

  25. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

Caleb had held on to his promise for over 45 years, marching towards, speaking about, holding it in his heart. He wouldn’t let that promise die because he had ever intention of seeing it. He preserved and he received his portion/his promise.

We cannot let our promises that we have yet to see come to pass die. We must speak of them daily, thank God for them daily and carry them with us in faith the today might be that day.

Caleb had to go after it, he didn’t wait for it to come to him. We must do the same, Continually seek and search until we receive our promise.

  26. What a beautiful chapter. Caleb given his life to serving the Lord and he gives testimony of how what God has kept him strong through all those years of wandering wilderness and because of his faithfulness he gets allotted a great inheritance. I’m thankful for a man of God and his leadership and my God that keeps His hand on us. Jesus name.

This is how God wants us to be in our spiritual life as we advance in years growing older, but never weaker in Jesus.

  28. Joshua 14:8,9…..because thou hast wholly followed the Lord thy God; in all his ways, and with full purpose of heart, and particularly had acted the upright and faithful part in the report he made of the good land ;

Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it

Nehemiah 9:21 Yea, 40 years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

Trust Him and never give up, keep marching forward.

  29. Joshua 14
This chapter is about Caleb’s promise.
See It, Say It, Seize It

    The Promise: Deut. 1:334-36
    34) And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, 35) Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,
    36) Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.

    SEE IT: Joshua 14:7
    7) Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Ka’desh-bar’ne-a to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
(Caleb SAW the good land – he SAW his promise)

    SAY IT: Joshua 14:6 & 9
    6) Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Ka’desh-bar’ne-a.
    9) And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD they God.
(Caleb SPOKE to Joshua about his promise from God – he SPOKE his promise)

    SEIZE IT: Joshua 14:12-13
    12) Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
    13) And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh, Hebron for an inheritance.
(Give me this mountain – Caleb was ready to SEIZE his promise)

So what has God promised you?
SEE IT, SAY IT, SEIZE IT

  30. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

Caleb shows that when follow after the Lord’s instructions that He will elevate you according to His promises and purpose! Never give up the fight whether you are on the front of the line or in the back!

  31. The emphasis moves from Joshua to Caleb in chapter 14. Caleb declared to Joshua that he desired the hill country where the giants had been seen. He was confident that with the power of God he would be able to take this tough territory.

Each of us has a mountain to climb, spiritually speaking. The children of God always face obstacles in their lives, but with His strength we can overcome our mountains no matter how rugged the terrain.

Many feel inadequate to face the mountains of life. We learn significant lessons from Caleb as he claimed the mountain God promised. We find that he was sufficient for the task, and God provided him with strength for each demand

I wana point some important thighs about this chapters that I learn from this verses

    # 1-His confidence never ceased (v. 10)
    #2-His strength never failed (v. 11
    #3-His God never forgot (v. 13)

  32. 9So that day Moses solemnly promised me, ‘The land of Canaan on which you were just walking will be your grant of land and that of your descendants forever, because you wholeheartedly followed the LORD my God.’

10“Now, as you can see, the LORD has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old.

Caleb was faithful to God and to Israel. Even after 45 years, God still blessed him. God will never forget the vows he makes with you. It will always be in God’s time and not on yours. So follow God wholeheartedly at all times.

  33. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

These blessings are coming from our Lord. Following his word and his commandments your life will be filled with blessings that is how amazing our God is! Following his commandments maybe be hard but he is here to help you he makes them easier for you with his help.

  34. “So Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave Hebron to him as his portion of land. Hebron still belongs to the descendants of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite because he wholeheartedly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.”(‭‭Joshua‬ ‭14:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    Joshua

  35. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

Caleb’s request is, Give me this mountain, or Hebron, because it was formerly in God’s promise to him, and he would let Israel knows how much he valued the promise. Those who live by faith value that which is given by God’s promise, far above what is given by his providence only.  Even though it belonged Anakin’s, Caleb was ready to take what belonged to him. This is the attitude, we must have, if we are going to seize the city of Fort Worth.

  36. 6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.

7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

Caleb was one of the only two spies to come back with a good report, a report of faith, believing that God had given Israel the land and would enable them to conquer it . Let’s have faith that God, will see us through all things.

  38. Mental strength is just as important as physical strength.

    Joshua 14:11 KJV
[11] As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

    Joshua 14:12 KJV
[12] Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said

    ** strong
    John 9:11 KJV
[11] He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

  39. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

There’s something powerful when you have witnessed what the Lord can Do! When you are a first hand witness to Hos awesome power, you get and extra ordinary boldness.

You see from the time he spied out the land, he had his eyes set in some real estate. He went in to get the first glance of what God had promised was there’s, so anything that inhabited the land he knew was just temporarily.

  40. Jos 14:11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

85 years old and still kicking. What an awesome testimony Joshua has. It was today I was reminded while reading the prayer email sister Crockett sends out that I noticed this was the Joshua that served under Moses. Serving has always been the key to humility and Gods promotes the humble. When you stay and endure whatever the case May be you will be promoted in some aspect. In this case it’s kingdom authority. God gives Joshua authority and the task to fully lead the Israelites. What an honor and scary moment but God seen her was fit and ready and now look 85 years old and he proclaims he’s still strong in the Lord!

  41. Joshua, it was 45 years ago that the Lord told Moses to make that promise, and now I am 85. Even though Israel has moved from place to place in the desert, the Lord has kept me alive all this time as he said he would. I’m just as strong today as I was then, and I can still fight as well in battle.
    Joshua 14:10‭-‬11 CEV

The LORD never forgets His promises! When obedience and faithfulness comes from a pure heart of a Christian, GOD will show the plans He always had for you from the beginning of time 👏👏👏❤❤

  42. 10 “Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!

11 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.

    Joshua 14:10-11 NIV

God will make a way for us he will push anything in our way and in his way. He will always keep his promises he is our father, The only God , He is a Promise Keeper. He is everything we could ever ask for he is our God he can do anything!
    LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  43. 10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

Faithfully serving the Lord with all our might and soul gives us an inheritance that cannot be taken away from us. So brother and sister don’t give up, keep serving and following His commands. For it may be that you are about to obtain your promises sooner than what you expected. Just keep your faith in Jesus!

  44. 10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

45 years he waited for a chance to receive his promise… And we get tired of waiting after only a few seconds.

Maybe that is the difference in wholly trusting and following Jesus and saying that you trust Jesus.

  45. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.

13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

As the Lord said. One great thing to notice from Caleb is that he believed the Word of the Lord. He believed when the promise was given and then he believed that if God said I can then I will. He didnt look at his reality and or his age. He looked at what God had said. Many times we stop ourselves become we look at what we can or cannot do. The trust is that If God said then it will.

  46. This is the other half of my first post

When we live wholeheartedly for the Lord and do what we are assigned to do by the Lord like Joshua did then we truly know that we’ll get our promise from God

  47. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

    Hold on…..

Keep your faith, keep his statutes, hold on to the word, and live give him everyday. Caleb waited 45 years to receive his promise, he stayed faithful for 45 yrs. Hold on and he will place you on mountains.

  48. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

The decision between Wholly serving the Lord and half-heartedly serving the Lord affects not only you but also your children. They watch your actions and your level of importance you put on the church and ministry. Wholly serving the Lord also comes with so many other benefits. Serve the lord wholly, because it’s not just for you.

  49. Faith begins in the unknown

7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

We imagine in our hearts, this is the beginning of faith

Joshua and Caleb had to see themselves inhabiting the promise land in their hearts before it became a verbal proclamation

We always preach to say what you want but should we first preach to imagine it in your heart then speak it out?

As a man thinketh in his heart so he is.

Confirming the desire of your heart is absolutely necessary and that is where true prayer is born but first we must examin our heart condition to see if the faith even be in us .

  50. 9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

It took 45 years for him to receive his inheritance BUT HE GOT IT!!! The others died in the wilderness and never entered into the promise land.

Romans 9:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

  51. We never know when God is going to allow us to cash in the promises we’ve been promised by him we can only wait for the “right time.” But during your time of waiting don’t forget to find joy in him, after all, your promos is there because of him.

  52. “And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must wholly follow the command if we want the promise.
