Joshua 19

And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.

And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,

And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem,

And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,

And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah,

And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:

Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:

And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.

Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

10 And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:

11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;

12 And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,

13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah;

14 And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel:

15 And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.

16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

17 And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.

18 And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,

19 And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath,

20 And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,

21 And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez;

22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.

23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.

25 And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,

26 And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath;

27 And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,

28 And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;

29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:

30 Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.

31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

32 The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.

33 And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:

34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.

35 And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,

36 And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,

37 And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor,

38 And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.

39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

40 And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.

41 And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,

42 And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,

43 And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,

44 And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,

45 And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon,

46 And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.

47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

  1. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

  2. 51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. It’s easy to compare blessings or even become discouraged would we see someone’s blessings and it look at our own. God never intended us to compare what he is blessed others with. To each their own God is giving each person their own blessing that was designed for them. It was measured and cut and create a just for that person and equally ours as well. The Bible tells us to rejoice with them that rejoice, so the reason for our focus is about being happy for others and we can be happy for ourselves as well.

  3. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Out of the seven lots divide among the seven tribes, the tribe of Dan is the only one that mentions they went up to fight and took the land and possessed it. They smote the inhabitants of their inheritance. This is peculiar to me because none of the other six didn’t have to fight. This showed that nothing was going to stand in the way of their promise. Nothing was going to stop them from enjoying the blessing of God.

We sometimes need to take the attitude that nothing will stand in our way to keep you from your blessing that was promised. Living for God will definitely bring both big and small challenges. It is up to us on how we will handle each of them and how we will progress forward to our blessing. Don’t worry when you are in the will of God and following the exact instructions of the word of God, you will achieve the blessing every time. Live Jesus to give Jesus.

  4. In reading the details of everyone’s land and their territory, it reminded me of the song we would sing in school:

This land is your land, this land is my land
From the California to the New York island
From the Redwood Forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

These territories were God given and needed to be possessed by their rightful owners. Some just walked in and took, while others had to fight a little more to obtain it. Every one of us is different and we each have our own territory (issues or things) in our lives that we need to obtain possession of (put under submission). Some may struggle or have trouble taking possession of it; but, we must continue to fight. Proverbs 16:3 AMP says “Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].”

  5. 47. And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Sometimes God will enlarge your coast with just a prayer, but sometimes He wants to know if you want it bad enough to fight for it.

    1 Chronicles 4:10 KJVS
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

  6. Joshua 19 : 51 [Amp] These are the inheritance which Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the father’s houses of the tribes of Israel distributed by lot in Shiloh before the Lord at the door of the Tent of Meeting, So they finished dividing the land.
God gives us his power to make things in order for his glory and honer. He will give each a blessing according to his riches. If we stay faithful to him.

  7. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Joshua recieved his blessing from Jesus and waited to the very end. We see everybody around us being blessed and we start to think the total opposite of what Jesus wants for us. Stay humble and always have faith and trust in his plan.

  8. After all the land was divided among the tribes, the Israelites gave a piece of land to Joshua as his allocation. For the Lord had said he could have any town he wanted. He chose Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the town and lived there.
    Joshua 19:49‭-‬50 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/jos.19.49-50.NLT

Timnath serah means portion of abundance. God made sure Joshua was given a portion of abundance for his leadership and obedience.

  9. 50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

The Lord knows exactly what we need and what we ask for!!! I always get overly surprised when I see what God has done for me; but in reality I should t get surprised for He said He would give me the desires of my heart! I still see everyone of those things as miracles He has done in my life. Doors that I thought would never open or I was unworthy to got through them He Flew them Open so I walked through them without any effort. He has blessed me greatly everyday so all I can do is PRAISE HIM!!! He is my Heavenly Father and has provided for me greatly and never ceases to AMAZE me! Thank you Jesus for all the blessings!!! Thank you Jesus for Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
It does not say some, but ALL, and His account is always FULL!!! My DADDY is a Millionaire !!!! So get rid of this poor mentality!!!

  10. Joshua 19
This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans. 9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed.

How beautiful to be able to share what God has blessed you with. Not only monetary or even possessions but gifts and talents can be shared . Each of us have been given something and we can share it. Give and it shall be given to you. There use to be a song we sang as a kid Spread a Little Love Around there are a multitude of ways to spread love ….Share share what God is doing and has done for you
Give something away it’s a wonderful to show God’s love. Even to share a smile or a touch or a word of encouragement just share. Live Jesus Give Jesus

  11. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Dont give up. Not everything is as easy as receiving something for free. Sometimes we have to fight a little harder for that extra blessing but remember we’re not fighiting alone.
As long as we have Jesus on our side and we are lined up with Him, we will be triumphant.

  12. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

This made me think about all the times that there was to little of something and God gave us the power to gain more. It made me think about how we can take his word, our sword, and gain more from it.

  13. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

This made me think about all the times that there was to little of something and God gave us the power to gain more. It made me think about how we can take his word, our sword, and gain more from it.

  14. If you want God’s blessings upend you stay close to him with daily walks and talks with him. His plan is always the best

  15. Its clans received this land and these towns with their surrounding villages. Later, when enemies forced them to leave their tribal land, they went to the town of Leshem. They attacked the town, captured it, and killed the people who lived there. Then they settled there themselves and renamed the town Dan after their ancestor.
    Joshua 19:47‭-‬48 CEV

There is going to be times where you will have to get up and fight for what belongs to you! Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their moth. I rather fight (work) for the needs of my family. There is a fighting spirit within each of us. You must use it rightfully in His KINGDOM in order to take back what the enemy has/had taken.
    ‘You can’t have my family!’
    ‘You can’t have my increase!’

  16. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Sometimes it’ll take a fight – but are you willing? How bad do you want your promise? The children of Dan wanted it bad enough to fight. Go get it in Jesus Name!

  17. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

Not everything was given out, they had to take it by force and the other had to built it up!!!

Handed over, fought for or built up, all are fulfilled promises of GOD!!! HE IS FAITHFUL!!!

  18. iLove the Lord Jesus
47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

As I was reading this all the sudden in my mind I saw this as a type and shadow of Apostolic Churches spreading and growing. It was quite amazing to see churches growing and conquering land and growing in influence. When we read these verses in the Bible we can easily understand that it was the will of God to conquer the promised land. God had given the land and all they had to do was take the land. But I think where most are missing it today, is understanding this same promise is for us today. It is God’s will for Apostolic Churches to grow in influence and territory.

  19. Are we the greatest obstacle to our own promise?

47 But the people of Dan failed to get rid of the Westerners (Amorites), who pushed them back into the hills. The Westerners kept them out of the plain and they didn’t have enough room. So the people of Dan marched up and attacked Leshem. They took it, killed the inhabitants, and settled in. They renamed it Leshem Dan after the name of Dan their ancestor.

God was not holding the land back. Their lack of follow-through was! God wants to help us transform these behaviors that are contrary to His Word and hurt us or others. He provides the grace to strengthen us to make these changes. If we are waiting on promises of God maybe we should check ourselves to ensure we are not what is holding the promise from being realized.

  20. 8 And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

“. . . for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them:”. When we go and aren’t lazy or slacking and we take possession of our blessings and promises it could be too much. The promises and blessings could be so much that we could share with those around us. Blessed and be blessed! Living in GOSHEN has all of the perks. Living in the Promise Land requires action!! Action in taking what belongs to us!! Action in taking what possessing our promises!! Action in claiming what is ours!!

  21. 50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

Because of his leadership and obedience, Joshua received the blessing he chose.

God wants to give you the desires of your heart, He’s just looking for someone who’s willing to work and obey for it!

  22. Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Now that they have their lands, it is their responsibility to keep his commands. It is too late to turn back to the world now, we must press toward the mark and reach for all those that we can. We must take our city and surrounding lands for Jesus.

  23. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

When it came to the tribe of Dan the land was too small for them so they decided to fight for more room. Some will adapt and accept less than what God has intended to bless them with. Dan didn’t get upset that the rest of the 6 tribes didn’t have to fight for their land. They didn’t throw a pity party until the rest of the tribes went to fight with them. Instead, they were accountable to God for their blessing of land. They fought without complaint. God gave them this opportunity and Dan came through the fight will the entirety of what God had in store for them. Are we willing to fight for the promises of God in our lives?l

  24. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
DIRECTION FROM THE HOUSE OF GOD

51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

The KEY in this chapter is the fact that the children of Israel received their directions, instructions and BLESSINGS from the house of GOD. The door of the Tabernacle was the PLACE.

We learn the value and importance of FAITHFUL and CONSISTENT Church attendance. GOD can and will speak to us anywhere. But, to fit in with the body of Christ, and be a part of HIS Kingdom and not establish our own Kingdom. We should receive our directions and blessings from the house of GOD.

  25. All of this was made in order , according to their families and before the Lord.
When there is unity, and things get done putting God first
At the end, it will leave a good pleasant feeling of accomplishment, all for Gods glory.🙌

  26. “The territory of the sons of Dan went beyond these; so the sons of Dan went up to fight against Leshem (Laish) and captured it. Then they struck it with the edge of the sword and took possession of it and settled there [between the tribes of Naphtali and Manasseh]; they renamed Leshem, Dan, after the name of their father (ancestor) Dan.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭19:47‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Is it worth fighting for? We have often heard the phase choose your battles. And there are things in our lives that we’ve got to fight for. But first we must decide is it worth fighting for.

  27. 49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

Joshua had divided the land according to what the Lord told him. He didn’t take any land or keep the best for himself, he followed the instructions of the Lord. Yet here we see after the tribes received their land they gave a portion back to Joshua, the land that he desired.

This is just an other principle of tithing. I believe they honored their lead by taking care of him and giving back to him that the portion of land he desired.

  28. The tribe of Dan had to go fight for their inheritance. They wanted it and went for their blessing. Are we blessed without doing anything? We must work for our blessings and do what is right in the eyes of God.

  29. 50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

If God said it’s yours then it’s yours if God said. Your going to be healed then you’re your going to healed. If. Surely Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life! If God before us who can stand against who break me who can take me who cans over whelm me for my God promised me victory and a land flowing with milk and honey so surly i shall receive it surly i shall break forth surly the promise of God shall come forth!

  30. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Some times you have to fight for it. The children of Dan went out to fight cause they wanted it bad.. Ask yourself the question of how bad do you want it, are you willing to fight for it.

  32. Joshua 19:50 (AMP), “According to the command of the LORD they gave him the city for which he asked — Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So he built the city and settled in it.”

Joshua was given the city (Timnath-serah) for which he ASKED.
Jesus said in St. Matt. 7:7a, “ASK, and it shall be given you;…,”
BUT James 4:2b says, “…yet ye have not, because ye ask not.”
All we have to do is ASK!

  33. Joshua 19:47

And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Unlike the children of Joseph, the children of Dan fought for their promised land and the increase of their inheritance. They had victory and got their promised land plus.

    Hallelujah!!

Lord, help us to fight to claim your promises and so what is rightfully ours!!
    In Jesus name.

  34. Jos 19:50  According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

    Ask and ye shall receive.
I know there’s power in the tongue. I tell everyone I meet that I watch what I say because I believe and know there’s power in what you speak. If you want something bad enough then go ahead and speak it into existence.

  35. They split the land to the children of Israel to the family it was appointed to. This lets us know that no matter who you our you me have our own blessing. No one can take your blessing. Only reason why you wouldn’t receive your blessing is if you didn’t go. The children of Israel was promised a blessing but they had to go get it.
So what ever God has promised we have to go get it. We have to pray it into existence.
Remember we all have our own blessing let’s go get it.

  36. 9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

God blessed his people with more than they could handle. To receive that type of blessing, you must be willing to put your desires to the side in order to fulfill what God wants. It is important that you’re willing to give of your time so that God can give of his blessings. Don’t be afraid to declare who you serve because our father in heaven is able to make our blessings run over.

  37. Live Jesus Give Jesus

When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

They did not just take their territory but they built upon the land and then gave of the land. As we take territory in this region let us follow their example and build on what we possess and give what we can to those that help us and are in need.

  38. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

Expanding our “tents”, is not always a little extra work, but many times it ends up very uncomfortable WORK.
Often times we find ourselves doing more than we ever imagined, just to be able to enjoy our blessings.this work that we endure to reach our goals is what Jesus uses to cause us to enlarge our coasts that we too might do more for His Kingdom.

  39. Joshua 19

This Chapter means that, their were lands given to Israel and were settling by The Priest,Joshua, And The Tribal Leaders.

  40. 51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

They all got their promise land and no one was forgotten. Sometimes we may feel as if the Lord has forgotten us. Like everyone is getting their blessings but it has not gotten to you. The Lord does not forget who his children are. Whatever he said he will do for you he will.

  41. Joshua 19:1-10

God’s grace extends to those who need it. Christ alone is our salvation and these cities were only for the innocent. The murderer would find no rescue there. But with Christ it’s different. He is our eternal city of refuge for all who’ll come to him for protection and refuge. He’s the one who says “Listen…..I am standing at the door, knocking, if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.” We can always come to Him, we can invite Jesus into our lives not so much as those who are innocent, but as those who know that we honestly deserve God’s judgement, yet are forgiven because Jesus has paid the price. Thank you Jesus!!!

  42. 49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

This passage shows that Joshua was rewarded an special inheritance for His leadership and service. We should take every opportunity to show our appreciation to our leaders and elders. The scripture states that the steps a righteous man are ordered of God, therefore we should respect our Pastor and lift his wife, taking every chance to show them or support and loyalty!

  43. Too much and not enough

9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

My Dad passed away when I was 19. He left me with a construction company to run. From the outside looking in it may look like a blessing but I can tell you it was too much at the time. In the same kind of work with the same people doing the same job getting the same pay, he was successful and I was not. I understand these years later that I was not ready for all that responsibility. It was too much. After almost 20 years I’m just now at the point I could handle that kind of responsibility. It’s ok not to have what someone else has. This is why we are instructed not to compare ourselves. Success is not an amount. It is a place of peace that you have done all you can do.

  44. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

God’s has a blessing for all of us, who follow Him and stay firm. Sometimes battles arise and we have to fight and push harder towards the victory. But the victory is there! We just gotta fight for it. Don’t get discourage, trust the Lord!

  45. “Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭19:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The couldn’t handle what God gave them so they had to share so they could handle it. Sometimes that’s what happens to us in ministry. God plans for us to do something, but we selfishly put other things in the way which cause us to not be able to handle everything God has given us. Then we have to “share” the ministry with others that God has allowed to support/do it with you. It’s interesting because what if we were supposed to fully take responsibility, now there may be people lost because the other person might have a greater job to do, but they become “stuck” helping instead.

  46. 49After all the land was divided among the tribes, the Israelites gave a piece of land to Joshua as his allocation. 50For the LORD had said he could have any town he wanted. He chose Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the town and lived there.

And Joshua was the last ti be given his land. A leader ensures his people gets first choice and is not worried about picking last. And the Lord blessed Joshua and he was happy with his land. Be humble and let others go first.
