Judges 3

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the Lord, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.

And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

10 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.

11 And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.

13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.

15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

16 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

17 And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.

18 And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

19 But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

20 And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

21 And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

22 And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

23 Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.

24 When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

25 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

26 And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

27 And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the Lord hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.

30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

31 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.

  1. The lord will always have grace and mercy on us even while he’s angry. This let’s me know that even when he’s angry when I’m in trouble i can still call on his name and he will help me. But we still shouldn’t go to other “gods” and marry into a person who does worship other “gods” and do evil practices. We should marry someone who believes in ONE GOD, one faith one baptism and one way to heaven and his name is JESUS.

  2. 31 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel

Twice in his chapter the Israelites were delivered out of their enemies hands. You cant tell me we don’t serve a merciful God. They had done some pretty funky things but when they opened their mouth and cried unto the Lord he delivered them. It starts with speaking it into existence

  3. Thank you Jesus for another day , it’s important to know what battles God wants you to fight

But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Othniel, the son of Caleb’s younger brother, Kenaz.
    Judges 3:9 NLT

“Follow me,” he said, “for the Lord has given you victory over Moab your enemy.” So they followed him. And the Israelites took control of the shallow crossings of the Jordan River across from Moab, preventing anyone from crossing.
    Judges 3:28 NLT

  4. 7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.

15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab

Yes the Lord is gracious and merciful but we cannot play with that .That will be one dangerous game we don’t want to play.

  5. 12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.

13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
God forgave them over and over and yet we always find a way, to loose sight of what really matters. In these times not sure what is really the truth but I know one thing for sure. God is coming and I want to be a part of his people. Thank you God, for giving me the chance to know your truth, for your grace and love.

  6. 4. These people were left to test the Israelites-to see whether they would obey the commands the LORD had given to their ancestors through Moses. NLT

Don’t despise every difficult situation; God sends some people and seasons into our lives not to destroy us, but to test us and see how we will respond to them and the situation.

    James 1:
    2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. KJV

  7. Judges 3: 7 [Amp] And the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord , and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.
[Judges 2:12-13 ] And they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, Who brought them out of the land of Egypt. They went after other God’s and bowed down to them, and provoked the Lord to anger.
[13] And they forsook the Lord and served Baal
[ the God worshiped by the ( Canaanites) and the Ashtaroth [ female deities such as Ashtoreth and Asherah].
Here all the people of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals.
You do evil, You will get back evil.
Jesus follow me and do good! Obey and be committed to my way. Listen to man of God which is our [ Pastor] Thank you Jesus.

  8. But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Othniel, the son of Caleb’s younger brother, Kenaz.
    Judges 3:9 NLT

God wants us to be delivered; He will send the help you need. The problem was, even after victory and seeing the goodness of God, the people wouldn’t commit to serve the Lord. In the end, God desires relationship, He wants our love and faithfulness. He will send the help you need, but what you do with the help and after your victory is up to you.

  9. 9And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

15But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

And when the children of God cried, God sent a deliverer. I have found his word to be true throughout my walk with him. I never hesitated to cry out to God and he not heard me. The scripture tells us that he is as close as the mentioning of his name. I find that no matter the circumstance or situations, God will hear you and he will deliver you. I just can not guarantee that you will completely trust him and surrender to him once you are delivered. Just like the children of Israel, they turned again away from God.

We have to make our calling and election sure. If we remain faithful to God he will be faithful to us. Serve him like your life depends on it or better yet your eternity depends on it. We have to be ready to be used by him to further the gospel and the kingdom.

  10. Verses 4-6 MSG “They were there to test Israel and see whether they would obey God’s commands that were given to their parents through Moses. But the People of Israel made themselves at home among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. They married their daughters and gave their own daughters to their sons in marriage. And they worshiped their gods.” The new generation of Israelites were being tried, tested and failed; where they made themselves at home with sin (flesh, this world). There may be things that are still in our lives that honestly shouldn’t be. My God is a merciful God; but, we must do our part to follow His commands, pass the test and not fall to temptation.

  11. 9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

God heard their cry so He raised up a deliverer! What if God wants to use you and me to rise up and be used by Him. If we can hear His call and be willing, there are people, even family that need us to rise up and go, they may be calling out for deliverance and we could be the tool.

  12. Yes as reading the post directly before mine, I totally love the way it says we need to stay in tuned with whats going on in waling with God because we are his tools to help and facilitate people in need.

  13. iLove the Kingdom
6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

This is a big deal in the Kingdom. God does not allow the flirt to convert attitude to thrive in his Kingdom. Human nature is far too dominating when dealing with marriage. 2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Apostolics must step up to the plate and not marry off our children to folks of other faiths. God has given us the truth and we must not sell out.

  14. God’s sovereignty mercy upon Israel.
They just couldn’t get it right. Self will kept getting Isrealmin trouble. From marrying idol worshippers time just going against all they had been instructed. Yet God answered when they cried out. Raising up once again men of strength and wisdom to fight the battle. This chapter has some pretty gruesome details to it . Yet spiritual watergate itself is not a pretty picture. The test was in hopes that Israel would pass it but once again they failed.
As I read this chapter I could clearly see spiritual battle, spiritual weapons, spiritual warfare . We the people of God’ must know how to enter into battle.
It’s time to quit allowing the enemy to destroy our spiritual family and natural families. God used a man whom was left handed in some people’s eyes he would have a disadvantage yet he was prepared to take the enemy and did so . We can and must learn and must teach what spur style us . What are the weapons we can use and how to go into the battle and win. Spiritual Warfare Prayer become a part of the army and begin winning the battles that try to overtake you. Sin must defeated strongholds broken and it only happens through warfare .
Our praise is a battle cry ! We must prepare and be ready at every moment. Too many fatalities and not enough victories! We are warriors and God is fighting for us!!!!!!

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ
    .” 2 Cor. 10:3-5

  15. 7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

When Israel sinned, God delivered them into the hands of their enemy. When they realized they needed to repent and did just that, God saved them from their enemies. This happened on several occasions. There is no need for God to allow your enemy to get the upper hand when you are doing what is right. Let’s keep God first and follow his will.

  16. 9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

10 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is important that when we are fighting a battle that we remember, it is not by our own strength but by the Spirit of the Lord that we receive victory!

  17. 8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.
9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

God’s Mercy is so ever patient with us all we have to do is cry out to him to receive our rescue. If you’re ever having a hard time forgiving yourself for thinking that God is tired of you you can always revert to parts in the Bible like this where Israel had done evil and upset God I went to turn around and repent and have him deliver them. God is not some angry judge at his throne waiting to cash down fire and brimstone on people, most of the time he’s waiting upon their repentance

  18. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THINGS THE LORD LEAVES

    1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

We often pray and expect GOD to remove every obstacle and opponent from our lives, However, as we learn here. JESUS being Lord will leave some adversaries in front of us to “Prove us”.

GOD is a jealous GOD and HE often confirms our love and allegiance to HIM. Much like the test he permitted for Job. GOD seeks to prove our FAITH in HIM to our adversaries. The only possible way is to allow or permit something or someone to come against us.

We know this to be a New Testament principle also because of the words of the apostle Paul and JESUS.

2Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

JESUS left the thorn for Paul to prove Pauls love to JESUS even in times of pain, trouble, weakness and misfortune. Carry on soldier of the LORD, when you feel weak, then you are STONG in the LORD. JESUS leaves this pain in our lives to prove us.

  19. Judges 3:1-4 (NLT)
    1) These are the nations that the LORD left in the land to test those Israelites who had not experienced the wars of Canaan.
    2) He did this to teach warfare to generations of Israelites who had no experience in battle.
    3) These are the nations: the Philistines (those living under the five Philistine rulers), all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the mountains of Lebanon from Mount Ball-hermon to Lebo-hamath.
    4) These people were left to test the Israelites – so see whether they would obey the commands the LORD ha given to their ancestors through Moses.

“To Test and To Teach Warfare To Those Who Had No Experience In Battle”
We are in a spiritual warfare, and as I read these verses, my heart went out to the “New Believers” today.
I, as a child of God and have been living for God for over 30 years, know how to fight this spiritual warfare – on my knees in PRAYER, through PRAISE and WORSHIP, through my SHOUT, through FASTING, etc…,
BUT our “New Believers” are just learning how. They are being TESTED and TAUGHT to see if they are going to OBEY the Word of God and Live by it.

PRAY for the New Believers that they will GrOw in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. PRAY that they will Learn and Obey the Word of God and Live by it. PRAY that they will learn for themselves how to PRAY, to PRAISE, to WORSHIP, to SHOUT, to FAST, etc… and fight this spiritual warfare.

  20. God is looking for Faithful and willing people to go do the will of the Lord.
    Go!!!!
Let’s stand and keep believing on what we heard Sunday night.
    Hallelujah 🙌.save Lord, save !!!
If you can use anything Lord
    You can use me🎵
If you can use anything g Lord
    You can use me.
Take my hands and take my feet
Touch my heart Lord speak and do through me……

  21. The children of Israel lust after many gods but when under oppression they cried out to God and every time they cried God gave them a deliverer!! Thank you Jesus for you are our deliverer. God wrapped Himself in flesh to be our deliverer. So when you find yourself under bondage just cry out to the One and Only God Jesus Christ our Deliverer!!! He will give you victory over your enemy!!

  22. We fine two instances where Israel cried out to God in repentance for their evil ways and Hod sent someone to lead them. “ And the land had rest”

If you are in a constant battle and it seems that victory is no where to be found, you may want to prayerfully evaluate who you are following.

No man can serve two masters – he will live one and hate the other.

    Proverbs 16:7
When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

  23. 28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the Lord hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

The people had to not only trust Moab, but had to put their trust into action! We must do the same with our PRAISE and Thanksgiving, we can say all the right things but we must also show forth actions of the things we speak.

If we say we are healed and continue to act sick, doesn’t seem as if we truly believe it. If we say we are filled with joy, yet continue to allow our thoughts to dwell on the things we have no control over instead of encouraging ourselves with the Word of God, do we really believe we can be filled with Joy.

Whatever we are speaking and praying, we must ensure we are putting forth the actions to match it!

  24. According to Ehud, when God has a plan it doesn’t matter how large or ominous the adversity looks. It is a matter of obeying Him and He will make a way through every trial

  25. “They were [allowed to remain] for the testing of Israel, to determine whether Israel would listen to and obey the commandments of the LORD, which He had commanded their fathers (ancestors) through Moses.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Sometimes in our lives we face challenges. But I’m those challenging times we must follow the leading of God. We must remember to listen and obey what the Lord has commanded.

  26. 12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.

As we read in these chapters as the Children of Israel fall into sin again and again. To the point that God has to make their situations unbearable so that he can get their attention and remind them who He is and what He can do! He gets their attention this time by putting a wrongful King over them to suppress them.

15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

Once suppressed, all of a sudden the Children of Israel want to call out to God for help. However, God didn’t say “well, you got yourself into this mess, you. . . “. Rather He raised them up a deliverer. Even after they had turned their backs against the almighty for eighteen years, he still had mercy and raised up a deliverer.
To any of us, had our children or spouse done something similar to us our reaction would not have been the same. Continually not listening to you, or bashing you constantly then one would not put up with and either get an attitude and stomp around or need to have a come to Jesus meeting or get livid, etc. God however, just sent a reminder of how great and mighty He is and then showed His mercy.
We serve an awesome God that takes care of us and gives us way to many chances that we do not always deserve.

  27. 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab

God didn’t raise up a deliverer until the people wanted to be delivered. When they turned from serving other gods and cried unto Him, then he raised up a leader to lead them in war and to also rule over them. Leadership is key for their nation in serving God or idols. Our nation needs prayer and a leader who allows Christians to serve God in peace and who will be an ally to Israel.

  28. 1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

    2 Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

Thank you Jesus! In these two verses it was kinda hard to understand in the KJV but in the NLT it makes a lot more sense because it says the lord left the nations to teach the Israelites how to be better warriors in their wars. God has a plan for every single person. No matter your situation your always being prepared to be a better person!

  29. Over and over again, God showed mercy to the Children of Israel even though they didn’t deserve it. How many times has God blessed me when I didn’t deserve it… Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy!

  30. Judges 3:5-7

The Israelites lived among those believing in other gods and intermarried, and started worshiping other gods. They forgot the LORD their God and failed to worship Him.

    Judges 3:8

Therefore God got angry with Israel and had the Mesopotamian king conquer them. They lived under the king’s rule for 8 years!

Every thing we do matters to God. In His first commandment, He wants us to love, honor and obey Him. Do what He wants us to do first and foremost in our lives.

    Hallelujah!!

Thank you, Lord God, for loving us in every way you do!!! In Jesus name!!!

  31. Jueces 3

  32. The Israelite’s intermarried and served other Gods. They were under Mesopotamia for 8 year. They cried unto the Lord and were delivered after the spirit of the Lord came upon them. After 40 years the Israelite’s did evil again in the sight of the Lord. They served the Moab’s for 18 years and again cried unto the Lord. God helped them kill 10 thousand Moab men. Not one Moab man had escaped. It is amazing how much our Lord does for us. The israelites sinned again and again but when they asked for Gods help, God was there for them. When we need Gods help we must ask for it as he loves his children.

  33. “Then the Lord burned with anger against Israel, and he turned them over to King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram-naharaim. And the Israelites served Cushan-rishathaim for eight years.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God gave Israel just what they wanted. They didn’t want to serve God, so He allowed them to be in bondage to a pagan king. Israel reaped exactly what they sowed. We need to be careful what we sow .

  34. 7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

The Lord saved them from their evil when they knew they needed to repent. The Lord will always forgive you, when you repent, God will always protect you and save you from the enemies your facing.

  35. When he had arrived, he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he was in front of them. And he said to them, “Pursue them, for the Lord has handed over your enemies the Moabites to you.” So they went down after him and seized the fords of the Jordan opposite Moab and did not allow anyone to cross.
    Judges 3:27‭-‬28 AMP
Wow…I am thankful for His grace….AGAIN & AGAIN in my life. Daily we choose whether we are living for the LORD wholeheartedly.
There must be a time in your life when you will make up your mind to crucify the flesh and pick up your cross and follow him. I’m in need of His grace yesterday, today, and in my tomorrow.

‘Grace is not a license to sin.’

There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death.
    Proverbs 14:12 AMP

  36. These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience): 3 the five rulers of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the Lebanon mountains from Mount Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath. 4 They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the Lord’s commands, which he had given their ancestors through Moses.

  37. “But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Othniel, the son of Caleb’s younger brother, Kenaz. The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he became Israel’s judge. He went to war against King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram, and the Lord gave Othniel victory over him.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, Israel were crying unto God to come rescue them from their enemies. But when the judges came and ruled Israel was good, until the judges died and return back to their evil ways. So we can’t decide to worship God one day then act carnal another because if we don’t decide to worship Our Father who is in heaven. He will spew us out of his mouth. So us as a congregation as a Body Of Christ we must decide to obey The Lord.

  38. 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

God is a jealous God. He does not share his glory with any other nor does he tolerate share the heart of his people. It is not that he plans evil but leaves the people to their own devices, their own gods and lusts and that is what harms and destroys. They have left the one who really cares and protects.

Yet the minute he hears they cry. They cry of them He so deeply loves, then he moves to action. One may be wondering why all this havoc has broken loose in their lives? Could it be that you have a Kingdom issue. That you walked away and followed after idol worship.

And there He is waiting, waiting on one to call into him to cry out to seek him. That minute he moves because His love is greater that the pain we cause Him.

This scripture comes to mind about his love for us.
    Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  39. know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the Lord, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

  40. 7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

    Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

When we stop trusting in God and start leaning on our own understanding we start having road blocks along our path and a lot of unneeded heartache. God help me trust in you in every situation.

  41. 9 But when they cried out to the Lord , he raised up for them a deliverer, Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, who saved them.
10 The Spirit of the Lord came on him, so that he became Israel’s judge and went to war. The Lord gave Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram into the hands of Othniel, who overpowered him.

    Judges 3:9‭-‬10 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/jdg.3.9-10.NIV

We should always seek the lord, we should cry out to him, he is the only God he is the all oh mighty God the everlasting God the prince of peace!.He can deliver us from evil he can save us! But, we need to seek him open up our hearts to him.

  42. Judges 3:9-10

God can use anyone for His purpose…. after the people cried out to God for help. So God ordered Othniel to help rescue them and His spirit came on him to lead well. And reading about Othniel I come to know that he was not a man of many great qualities like some others were, but that didn’t stop him from giving what he had to the Lord. Since Othniel gave what he had to God, God used this simple an normal man with an ordinary tool to deliver His people in an extraordinary way. Just like God used a simple person with not very many qualities God also can use us to bring His purpose in our lives. Lord I pray that we too, may give all that we have to You so that we may be used in an extraordinary way for your kingdom!!

  43. 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

Each time they cried out to God He gave them a deliverer. Yet it only last so long and God allowed someone to rule over them.

When we find it hard to fake dominion and authority of something we must first search our lives and ensure we are not doing wrong in the eyes of God.

  44. 28 And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the Lord hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

Time and time again…. Its very clear, by now, that we see, we know, we can witness, testify, how merciful and how his great grace has been poured out upon the Israelites. We can also see the repercussions in their arrogance.

This whole chapter reminded me of our spiritual, at least mine. When time and time again i would have these great breakthroughs, and then go home and still contemplate whether a life with Christ is really something i could do. I knew with out a doubt that all i wanted was this close, whole hearted, unconditional relationship with Christ but i still battled with the temporary satisfactions of the world. And sometimes it got the best of me. The battle between good and evil within us is uncompromising. It cant be bargained with.
When we are in the world and living by the wills of our flesh, we are losing constantly. Everything we come against seems to have its way with us and we end up dwelling in it and eventually being consumed.
His grace and mercy pulls us from the pits and gives us victory over our adversary. But only when we choose to go with him. It gives us power to face any problem, situation, stronghold, temptation everytime, but only when we choose to follow.
    His grace is enough….

  45. 9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

Although we may fail over and over again. God love for us stays the same. He hears our cry and deliver us from evil. What a wonderful God we serve! Let us remember God’s deliverances and keep our faith and eyes on Him.

  46. 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

Seems the Israelites only remembered Jesus when they were in trouble and left back to sin when everything was good in their lives.
Let’s be consistent with our relationship with Jesus.
He should be our God during the good times and during hardships.

  47. 6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

After everything they managed to get into trouble and serve gods!!! In this chapter they get into trouble quite a bit……. knowing that GOD sees everything!!! Sounds like ne sometimes!!! Thank you gor mercy JESUS

  48. 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

  49. The pagan nations remaining in the territory of Israel.

    1. Why God allowed these nations to continue in Israel’s territory.

    2. The pagan nations are specifically listed.
    The first judge: Othniel.

1 The apostasy of Israel in the days of Othniel.

Israel’s servitude to the king of Mesopotamia.

The cycle continues: Israel sins and is sold into servitude.

God raises up a deliverer for Israel: Ehud.

    Ehud’s daring assassination of Eglon.

  50. 7The Israelites did evil in the LORD’s sight. They forgot about the LORD their God, and they served the images of Baal and the Asherah poles.

Many forget what God has done for them. Some it may be over time. It starts by missing church services and it gets easier over the weeks and months. We need to feed our spirit daily to serve as a reminder to continue to serve God at all times.

  51. “Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan–rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan–rishathaim eight years. And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It took eight years for them to call upon the name of the Lord. When they called on him he responded. Even though before he was angry when they called on him he responded. No matter what we’re going through in life we have to remember that we always need to call upon the name of the Lord.

  52. “But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord again raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed man of the tribe of Benjamin. The Israelites sent Ehud to deliver their tribute money to King Eglon of Moab.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This shows the mercy of God. When we repeatedly drifted from God, He has every right to cast us off completely. Yet He still responded when we finally did call on Him for deliverance.
