Judges 4

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.

And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

12 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

17 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

Sisters was delivered into the hand of the Lord and this is where it all ended. Seems like it didn’t take very long from point A to point B. He tried running but he didn’t get very far. There’s no running from the Lord one way or another you’ll get what’s coming to you. Saying that could be two fold as well. There is always fulfillment in the word of God remember

  3. Thank you Jesus , I raise a hallelujah in the presence of my enemies. Let’s pray surrender our selves to God’s will today his word for victory

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you.” So Barak led his 10,000 warriors down the slopes of Mount Tabor into battle. So on that day Israel saw God defeat Jabin, the Canaanite king. And from that time on Israel became stronger and stronger against King Jabin until they finally destroyed him.

  4. Verse 9 ERV says “Of course I will go with you,” Deborah answered. “But because of your attitude, you will not be honored when Sisera is defeated. The Lord will allow a woman to defeat Sisera.” So Deborah went with Barak to the city of Kedesh.” Your attitude in which you approach things does matter. We cannot allow fear or doubt to creep in, as God has already prepared the way and is waiting to see how we will approach/embrace the test (battle or victory). God will always provide the means for what He is asking you to do as we see in verse 14 ERV “Then Deborah said to Barak, “Today the Lord will help you defeat Sisera. Surely you know that the Lord has already cleared the way for you.” So Barak led the 10,000 men down from Mount Tabor.” These son lyrics came to my mind:

We are bold; We are strong
We are ready to march on
    Through Christ
    We will take this city

I like the way the Bible words it…”So he died”…no regrets, no remorse, no feeling sorry for the enemy that’s had you captive!!
There comes a time when you’ve had enough of the enemy and you just gotta nail his head to the ground with a tent stake and be done with him!

    Let’s go camping! ⛺️

When God is working in our life’s most of the time we get uneasy with what’s going on. Just have faith and cry out to God. God will continue to work in our life especially when we decide not to go his way, our way can be so painful.

  8. “After Ehud’s death, the Israelites again did evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord turned them over to King Jabin of Hazor, a Canaanite king. The commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-haggoyim. Sisera, who had 900 iron chariots, ruthlessly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years. Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God loved Israel too much to let them go their own way. There may be times when we wish God would leave us alone; yet we are ultimately thankful for His continued dealing with us, even when it isn’t comfortable.

  9. 23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

So long as we are seeking God, He will fight for us. He wants to see us live victoriously – but that will only happen if we are on His side, following Him, and taking His orders. Choose this day whom you will serve! I choose to be in the Lord’s army!

  10. 14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

So he died.

Strong women!!!! We need to be strong women, not given to gossip, nor complaining, but to fasting and prayer!! Strong women willing to submit to God’s will and follow His commandments!!! Strong women determined to pick up the swords and do what God needs us to do! I don’t imagine Deborah as a weak woman, not physically nor spiritually. I see her as a strong women, muscular, mentally strong, determined, willing to submit and go when asked to go!! I imagine Jael Heber’s wife as a bit of a trickery, a thinker, planning how can I do this. In her mind she was already determine of what she was going to do. God has a plan for all of us, a purpose on His Kingdom, but we must be strong physically and spiritually, seeking Him in prayer so He may give us instructions, and we must be willing and determined to do what He ask of us. So find your VOICE WOMEN, find your purpose, and pick up your sword and GO DEFEND YOUR HOME FROM THE ENEMY!!!!

  11. 21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
She was bold and brave. Yes women can be used by God!

  12. 8And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

I find that whether a woman or man chose of God to go with the Israelites into battle. Batak did not want to go without a covering. We as a child of God have to realize we can not do anything with the blessing of God and the covering of our pastor. If we only have one or the other but not both I think we still will not be successful. We have to obey the commandments of the word of God. I can say without a doubt that you will never get the Pastor’s blessing without Gods.

The only way to be victorious is to live the word and do the word of God. This will allow us to be covered in everything we do. Live God to give God.

  13. 9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

God can use anyone who is willing to follow after him. Don’t ever think that your past is too much for God to turn your life around. Everyone who is willing and obedient, the bible says they shall eat the good of the land.

  14. Sisera, who had 900 iron chariots, ruthlessly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years. Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help. Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a prophet who was judging Israel at that time. She would sit under the Palm of Deborah, between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites would go to her for judgment. One day she sent for Barak son of Abinoam, who lived in Kedesh in the land of Naphtali. She said to him, “This is what the Lord , the God of Israel, commands you: Call out 10,000 warriors from the tribes of Naphtali and Zebulun at Mount Tabor.

And from that time on Israel became stronger and stronger against King Jabin until they finally destroyed him.
    Judges 4:3‭-‬6‭, ‬24 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/jdg.4.3-24.NLT

Left to our own hearts and devices we are a wicked creation. Because of the fall of man we instinctively sway towards satisfying the flesh. That’s what the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil did. It opened our eyes to the different possibilities of the flesh. That’s why science without God in it is so satisfying to some people because it feeds that desire for KNOWLEDGE that has been imprinted into us since Adam’s first bite.
But when that desire to seek out our own way gets us in trouble then our spiritual selves wake up and look heavenward and cry out for help. And so this is what we see with Israel. God allowed them to be overtaken again because of their sin. And so they cry out again because of their oppression.

Honoring the leadership in your life will guide you in getting the victory, but notice that Barak had more faith in his leader than in his God. If he had just taken the Word that was given to him through Deborah then Israel would have won the victory, but instead they got it by the hand of someone else.

  15. iLove Miracle Working Jesus
    “She Really Nailed It!”

Jdg 4:21 But when Sisera fell asleep from exhaustion, Jael quietly crept up to him with a hammer and tent peg in her hand. Then she drove the tent peg through his temple and into the ground, and so he died.

She really nailed it ya’ll. It’s pretty amazing I’ve read this passage of scripture several times but never caught this. This lady knew who the Children of Israel were. This was Moses in-laws family.11 “Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses…”

Don’t run to the in-laws house if you have a problem with God’s people yo. You might find yourself sleeping with the fishes.

  16. 23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

We may have to see defeat a few times before we can see a victory because God hears our cries. His ear is not too heavy to hear and his arm is not too short that it cannot reach us. We may have to fail we may have to face the feet but in the end God will see that we have the victory.

  17. I am loving these comments today…..go POFW! I think live God and give God is the best! Things happen when you get out of the will of God.

  18. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

The Lord can use a woman to arise and stand up before the enemy. Sometimes we can think… me? Yes you! God also gives us (woman) the ability and power to rise, lead and conquer. But if you stand with a partner it becomes much more powerful. Submit yourselves to the Lord and He will give you the victory! Are you ready for God to use you? To arise against the enemy? Let us be prepared, for what we face is already under our feet! Glory to God.

  19. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    KNOWING THE TIME

14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

Is not the Lord gone out before thee?

Miracles missed is one of the greatest Kingdom frustrations to GOD and man. JESUS desires to reveal HIS power and glory through us, but we must allow HIM opportunities to place us where HE wants us.

We understand the weak faith of Barak when he hinged his pursuit on the willingness of Deborah to go with him.

8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

This was his response to the command of the Lord.

6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded,

This reveals the weak faith of Barak. He had a command from GOD but, he places conditions on his obedience to GOD. Barak’s response reveals his spiritual condition. GOD commanded and Barak conditioned, Deborah instructed because Barak was not walking in faith.

To Live JESUS we are ready to answer the call of GOD which sometimes we go alone to build our faith. Other times we seek support in a task or assignment. However, a power principal to remember is that when GOD gives a command to us. We know that HE is gone out before us.

Lets GO teach our city of the soul saving message of New Birth Salvation. Repentance, Baptism in the Name of JESUS and the wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost is to all that believe.

  21. Judges 4
9 “Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.
    Message version says

18 Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Come, my lord, come right in. Don’t be afraid.” So he entered her tent, and she covered him with a blanket.

19 “I’m thirsty,” he said. “Please give me some water.” She opened a skin of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him up.

20 “Stand in the doorway of the tent,” he told her. “If someone comes by and asks you, ‘Is anyone in there?’ say ‘No.’”

21 But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.

    Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman
    Hmm
(I wonder if their story began in the book of Judges )

    Deborah and Jael
Don’t under estimate the power of a woman.
God is going to use anyone who is willing to be used.
    It’s time to do something.

Live Jesus so you can Give Jesus you have been given the power Acts 1:8 . Be bold be courageous!
    Give God the Glory !

  22. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

To me it is a shame that Barak had to ask Deborah to go with him and that he did not trust her word from the Lord. It is fitting that Barak is not allowed to kill the captain of the enemies host and that God uses a woman. God uses whoever is willing and able and all we have to do is be ready. This reminds me of 2 Timothy 4:2 ” Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”
We , men and women, can take this city through our testimony, Bible studies and prayer.

  23. 2 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

3 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

God was in control of what was going on in the Israelites life. We may think that we are being tried of the devil – don’t give him so much credit. Sometimes we are being tried at the hand of the Lord to see what we are made of.

    Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

  24. 7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

With god there is always an escape plan for our situation, whenever enemy comes against us and it feels like we have lost the battle and that there is no way out god steps in and fights with us and will lead us through and out of our tribulations and situations………so must always be willing to follow him and listen to his commands, and no matter the battle god is with us.

  25. Judges 4:4-24

God is beyond faithful to us…… I don’t know you but often at times I have measured myself up to others in leadership just too often see all that I lack, I sadly admit that. But today as I read this chapter God helped me to understand something that at times I find hard to understand. God really can use anyone in many ways for His kingdom, and here we have 3, Deborah’s leadership, Barak’s military action, and Jael’s good call and actions. But what stand out most to me are the 2 ladies. At times reading about all these great leaders in the bible I think that they must have been almost perfect…..walking real close to God to be used in such a way. The more I study and read the more I come to know that yes, they did walk close to God, but they were sinners too, struggling and sometimes failing to do what God desired of them. Yet, I’m thankful for these great women, these complicated women, who aren’t painted and described as the perfect woman or leader. I get to understand here that God doesn’t look for perfect He looks for willing, and in the process of it all God perfects us as we learn to love and serve God over our lifetime. So again, yes God is beyond faithful offering us redemption again and again, offering us paths to freedom even when our captivity was a result of our own destructive choices, faithful and present with us even when we doubt His plan for our life. Always surprising us even when we sure we’ve got it all figured out, giving us grace and lots at that when we knew it was undeserved. God, You are faithful, thank you for all these things God, and thank you for your perfect and faithful love to me.

  26. Judges 4:9,21

9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey thou takest shall not be for thine honor; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the rent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Deborah’s prophesy came true two fold: Not only did she go with Barak to defeat Sisera’s army (vs9) but Jael Heber’s wife killed Sisera himself. (Vs21). Thus the LORD sold Sisera into the hands of two women: Deborah leading the troups of Israel with Barak, and Jael Heber’s wife, who actually killed Sisera.

    Hallelujah!!

Praises to the Lord God Almighty!!!

  27. Judges 4:21, “Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him (Sisera), and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.”

“What’s In Your Hand To Destroy The Enemy With?”
Ehud had a dagger to destroy Eglon with.
Shamgar had an ox goad to destroy 600 Philistines with.
Jael had a tent nail and a hammer to destroy Sisera with.
SO, what is in your hand to destroy the enemy with? We have the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; we have our Worship (Worship is the way the battle is won); we have our Praise; and we have our Shout. The Word of God, Our Worship, Our Praise, Our Shout is what we use to destroy our enemy with.

  28. Jueces 4:1-3

  29. 21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

By Jabin and the house of Heber, having peace between it was not a coincidence. God always has a plan ahead of everything, we can think. We can run but we can’t hide. No matter where we run away to, the hand of the Lord will always find us. He will find us no matter what.

  30. 9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Women have been known to rise up to be used of God at times were men like the Israelites here have turned to do evil. This wickedness angers the Lord. Their is hope in this situation for Deborah has become judge to intercede for them. Barak’s disbelief will keep him from receiving the glory of defeating Sisera. Deborah notes that because of his response that a woman will win the war. Jael, will kill Sisera with a tent peg while he sleeps.

God is the one who appoints authority and he chose Deborah and He doesn’t make mistakes. Nothing happens that He doesn’t know about nor allowed to happen. Some men don’t enjoy being lead by a women and I understand. The thing is God is not a respecter of persons. He will use whom he wishes. Not honoring the man or woman of God is disobedience to God who appointed them. Those who opposed Moses is an example of what can happen.

  31. 24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
the hand of God prevailed. if you are in need of God to help you you will prosper and prevail in your struggles.

  32. Deborah’s prophesy came true. This was no surprise! God never fails us or goes against His word. We must never doubt God as He always comes thru. It may not always be in the time we want, but nevertheless he is in control, not us.

  33. 21 But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.

At times we tend to make mistakes but, the truth is none of us are perfect. We can run and hide from our mistakes or what we have done wrong we have to admit, and repent and ask for forgiveness.God created us equally, he knows we are going to make mistakes he knows that we are not perfect. But, he does know that we try our best everyday we might want to just give up and run away from your mistakes but, you can because God always knows he knows what you have done weather it’s good or bad.

  34. 9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

God is no respecter of persons. He will use anyone who is willing and obedient.

  35. abin and Sisera oppressed Israel for twenty years and the oppression was harsh. … Deborah sent for a man named Barak (not to be confused with former President Barack Obama) to help Israel overthrow their oppressor, king Jabin. … This is the summary of Judges chapter 4, glory to Honor!

  36. “Then Deborah said to Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you.” So Barak led his 10,000 warriors down the slopes of Mount Tabor into battle. When Barak attacked, the Lord threw Sisera and all his chariots and warriors into a panic. Sisera leaped down from his chariot and escaped on foot.”‭‭(Judges‬ ‭4:14-15‬ ‭NLT)

When we go into battle we won’t be alone for Lord will go before us. He will make a way so that we have victory over our enemy. Here Sisera panics and runs from the battle in distress. His people are going to be defeated but he jumps ship and seeks shelter. The enemy will try to hide from defeat but Jael claimed the victory when she slayed him. The truth is we cannot hide from Gods will.

  37. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

Unfortunately many times we don’t even ask Jesus if we should, much less if he would go with us. We might find that we save ourselves much pain and heartache if we only went with Jesus, after we inquire….

  38. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Our God doesn’t just choose people who listen to his word, he chops the people that follow him, are obedient to his word, listen and do his commandments. Our God expects us to do all of those things for him to able to know that you can help save this world.

  39. 21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

……For a woman to commit murder……. It wasn’t a gun shot but she actually hammered the nail into his head!!! It was premeditated as well, she waited till he was asleep, savage style ….

  40. A long nail and a steady swing

Temple to temple is between 5”-6”. It says one nail and temples being plural. One nail going thru both temples would not only be a very long nail but a very swift and steady swing of the hammer. It takes a good carpenter 2 swings to drive a 3-1/2” nail. One soft but precise swing to set the nail and one swift and hard swing to drive it in. This fear to me was just as amazing as David picking up Goliaths weaver beam of a sword and cutting his head off. We quote if God be for us who could be against us? But the reverse of that is true as well if god be against you, who could be for you? That is the only way that nail is going all the way through in one swing, it was Gods will. The worst place to be is in the wrong side of God. If it’s a sword or hammer and nail, you will lose.

  41. ““Very well,” she replied, “I will go with you. But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the LORD’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.

But when Sisera fell asleep from exhaustion, Jael quietly crept up to him with a hammer and tent peg in her hand. Then she drove the tent peg through his temple and into the ground, and so he died.”
    ‭‭Judges‬ ‭4:9, 21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Thankful that God’s Word is faithful and true. It’s a sure fountain! Thankful that we can take God’s word (straight from God or from one of His vessels) and know without a doubt that it will come to pass.

  42. And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

The Lord always fulfills his plans. Whatever he said he will do it will come to pass. Trust the Word, God, that will accomplish all the promises that are written in the book.

  43. 21But when Sisera fell asleep from exhaustion, Jael quietly crept up to him with a hammer and tent peg in her hand. Then she drove the tent peg through his temple and into the ground, and so he died.

Be careful when you first meet someone, as they may seem friendly at first, but trust takes time to develop. Take time to know your friends. But you can always put your trust in God, and he will always be there when you need him.

  44. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

A leader leads by example. We should be an example of Jesus. Live Jesus.

  45. 1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

The beginning of the chapter starts with them turning away from God and then being sold to another king. Though out the chapter a prophetess rises up and God sees a difference in the children of Israel. They decided to listen to Deborah the prophetess and follow the Lord’s instructions.

23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

Because they listened and turned back to a the one true God, He then delivered them out. Backsliders May at times feel as through He may not take them back. But these passages prove that after the Israelites messed up multiple times, God would give them another chance. Next time you fall, pick yourself back up again and pray immediately. Don’t wait until the snowball builds.

  46. Deborah, the fourth Judge.

    1. (1-3) The cycle begins again: apostasy, servitude and supplication.

When Ehud was dead, the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD. So the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth Hagoyim. And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD; for Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and for twenty years he harshly oppressed the children of Israel.
