1 Samuel 4

And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.

And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men.

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.

Be strong and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.

10 And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.

11 And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

12 And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.

13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out.

14 And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in hastily, and told Eli.

15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see.

16 And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?

17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.

18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

19 And his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.

20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.

21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.

22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

This is proof that our praise in the midst of battle is an element that our enemy can not take and it will cause your enemy to tremble with great fear. In the midst of turmoil that is when you need to have prayer, praise, and the peace of God to trust God to deliver you from the snares of the enemy. But we can not just go through the motions and try to please God. We have to seek God and humble ourselves before him. We have to give him heart felt praise even when it looks like we will be destroyed. That is why it is so important to have a relationship with God so that even when he steps on the scene he will know your voice and come to your rescue.

The presence of God is the most important thing right now to have above all other items. We have to know who God is and He has to know who we are. It can not be just a Sunday only relationship. Live Jesus to give Jesus.

  3. 7 And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

8 Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.

The enemy knows who God is! They know His power!!! They know His miracles!! May be that’s why they went and took the Ark. They knew the Power that it contained. Israel lost the Ark because instead of looking into themselves and check spiritually where they have gone wrong they just went to get the Ark thinking that’s all we need. Sometimes in the middle of a battle it’s better to check yourself find out in what state is your soul before you continue to fight a losing battle. A lot of times the battles are battles that we have put ourselves into and by checking ourselves we may be able to recognize it and corrected. Others are battles that belong to God and once you surrender that battle to Him you have victory. Israel lost the battle and lost the Ark, but I know that the story doesn’t end there for our God is a mighty God in battle!!! He is VICTORIOUS AT ALL TIMES!!! HE IS GREATER THAN ANYTHING!!! HE IS JESUS!!

  4. So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

Our praise can be our weapon or the lack of can be our downfall. It’s hard to praise the Lord in the bad times when we don’t praise him in the good times!

    Psalms 34:1
Taste and See That the LORD Is Good,
    I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

  5. 5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.
6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

I wonder how many battles would we face and the church anointed themselves and treated their lives as if they carried the ark of the covenant with them. We have the Holy Ghost which is far more valuable than the ark. What would happen if the church shouted in battle like the Israelites did?

  6. She named the child Ichabod (which means “Where is the glory?”), for she said, “Israel’s glory is gone.” She named him this because the Ark of God had been captured and because her father-in-law and husband were dead. Then she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the Ark of God has been captured.”
    1 Samuel 4:21‭-‬22 NLT

Poor Samuel just watched this occur. There is destruction and chaos where God is not feared. The judge of Israel, Eli, had lost his reference for God and allowed his sons to defile the Tabernacle. The glory of God, in my opinion, had left Israel long before their defeat from the Philistines.

  7. 3. And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

    7. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

Even our adversary knows the importance of God among us; so instead of having to “bring” God into our camps, let’s KEEP Him in our camps! There is never a time when we can afford to not have Him foremost in our lives. We shouldn’t just call on him when the enemy attacks, but we must daily LIVE JESUS so we can GIVE JESUS.

  8. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    PROTECT THE PRESENCE

22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

With Eli as is with most others, his demise and the loss of the Ark or presence of GOD began with overlooking the sin in the Temple. Committed by his own sons, Eli failed to correct it. This permissive way left the door open to iniquity in the ministry and an absence of respect, honor and valor for the things of GOD and a lack of desire to PROTECT THE PRESENCE of GOD by securing the Ark.

GOD used this one event to “clean house”. We learn from this passage that if we do not clean house then GOD will. Ichabod was born but there was no rejoicing, because the Presence of GOD was absent.

I encourage you to PROTECT The WORD of GOD in your house and life, PROTECT your Prayer Time in your house and life, PROTECT your Worship, in your house and life, PROTECT your Church in your house and life and finally PROTECT your Pastor in your house and life.

In this unique and spiritually challenging time, we must remember and maintain to Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD.

  9. I Samuel 4
6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

We must continue to Raise a Hallelujah . We cannot allow anything or anyone to take away our praise and worship .

  10. 6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

7 And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

There are people and things in this world that will try to keep us quiet and keep us from lifting up our voice to god but we know “if god be for us who can be against us.” And whenever we lift our voice in praise we have the assurance to know that it makes every devil in hell tremble because they no control over the children of god.

  11. 22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

There is death and a child is born yet the most tragic is that the glory and the ark is gone. Woe to the nation that allows itself to loose the praise and word of God. His word is to live throughout eternity and we are the salt and light of this earth. If “The Ark is gone” that means the church is not doing what it is called to do… “KEEP THE FIRE UPON THE ALTAR!”

This morning it is my payer that we are keeping the word and a praise inside of us. We are keeping the Word and a praise inside our homes! We are keeping a Word and a praise to give to others let us keep it hot, make it loud, and give it out. The world need the Word of God in this hour.

  12. 3 And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

We need the Lord to be with us at all times. If we choose to go it alone, we have no one to fight for us. If we will invite the Lord into our day, our week, our home, our life, He will go before us, behind and walk beside us. Our victory only comes through Him – without Him I am nothing.

  13. 8Help! Who can save us from these mighty gods of Israel? They are the same gods who destroyed the Egyptians with plagues when Israel was in the wilderness.

Even the Philistines knew about God, but yet Israel would continue to reject God. Never lose hope or faith in Jesus. Your enemy should not have more fear and faith about God than you.

1 Timothy 1:19 19Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.

  14. This chapter is what resulted from the previous chapter in verses 10-14 of 1 Samuel 2. Eli did not stop/rebuke the sinful behavior which he knew was happening, because his sons were bringing a curse on themselves when they were dishonoring and blaspheming God. We must protect our homes, our families and each other (the body of Christ) with the Word of God. Joshua 24:15 KJV “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Proverbs 22:17-19 AMP says “Listen carefully and hear the [a]words of the wise, And apply your mind to my knowledge; For it will be pleasant if you keep them in mind [incorporating them as guiding principles]; Let them be ready on your lips [to guide and strengthen yourself and others]. So that your trust and reliance and confidence may be in the Lord, I have taught these things to you today, even to you.”

  15. And his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.

  16. iLove the Lord

God is not some idol that we can run to when we get into trouble. God requires us to have a pure relationship with him. He wants to be there for us, but God is not mocked.

Galatians 6:7-8 KJV  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  (8)  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Those who sow to the flesh and refuse to listen to the voice of God are deceived. If we refuse to listen to the voice of God and we choose to do as we please we will surely reap corruption. Corruption of morals, values, and purpose. Eventually this sin leads to death. Just because we are the ark of the covenant of the New Testament, does not mean we are going to be delivered. Let’s not treat God like an idol.

  17. And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men.

The men sent to fight they were not scared because they knew they had god with them so when we are scared we have god with us to help us

    God bless yall

  18. 3 And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

While they went to get the ark, they never thought to inquire of the Lord whether to go to battle. The priests of Shiloh were corrupt and there was no true commitment or communication with God for the people, so the people didn’t the correct example.
We must be church where we are and keep his word and be apt to teach to our neighbors so they can know of our hope in the Lord-that we live the blessed life no matter what is going on in the world.

  19. I Samuel 4:5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

Psalm 8:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims , shine forth.

    Shout unto the Lord!!!
Keep Jesus in your camp always.

  20. continue of my post …..
. And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews ? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp,

  21. 4:21 and she name the child Ichabod
Saying: the glory is departed from Israel
Because the ark of God was taken and because of her father in law and her husband.
—- I wonder what kind of woman she was….
It’s sad , but it was said before that this was going g to happen, it’s sad that others have to pay the consequences of some else behavior 😳.
Let hear what the Lord is saying, let have full reverence u to the Lord almighty 🙌

  22. Now the Israelites went out to fight against the Philistines. The Israelites camped at Ebenezer, and the Philistines at Aphek.

  23. “And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our praise will always confuse the enemy. Though it may look like we will be defeated, know that a God is still working and we will see a victory!! I thank God for His Spirit in us that gives us power. I pray we continue to put or trust in Him, sing His praise, and pray daily. Remember the building may be closed, but the church is still open!

  24. 1 Samuel 4:2 & 10
    2) And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men.
    10) And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.

When it looks like, when it feels like, when it seems like the enemy is winning, remember: this is not the end of the story. Keep going and keep reading, because there is VICTORY ahead.

  25. “After the battle was over, the troops retreated to their camp, and the elders of Israel asked, “Why did the Lord allow us to be defeated by the Philistines?” Then they said, “Let’s bring the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord from Shiloh. If we carry it into battle with us, it will save us from our enemies.” So they sent men to Shiloh to bring the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, who is enthroned between the cherubim. Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli, were also there with the Ark of the Covenant of God.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
The elders rightly sensed they needed God’s help to win the battle. But they were wrong in the way they sought help. Instead of humbly repenting and seeking God, they turned to methods that God never approved.

  26. 5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.
6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

When the evening justs heard the name the praises that are given to God, they tremble. As we praise we know that God does listen and sees.

  27. We must never give up on God. He is here for us. All we have to do is keep praying and trust in our Lord.

  28. So the Philistines fought desperately, and Israel was defeated again. The slaughter was great; 30,000 Israelite soldiers died that day. The survivors turned and fled to their tents. The Ark of God was captured, and Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were killed.
    1 Samuel 4:10‭-‬11 NLT

Sin effects more than just the one committing it. The people desperately tried to overcome, in previous chapters they tried to be faithful in their acts of service, here in this chapter they wanted to invite God into their midst. Yet still, no victory. God was displeased with the sin in His house and spoke of what was to come if it was not straightened out. As we seek the Lord, we must insure our house is in order.

  29. 3 And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

When the children of Israel realized their power was elsewhere, they knew they had to get it back. When the enemy realized they recovered where their power lies, they were afraid. When you began to realize what’s missing from your life and why it seems every battle you fight you come out the loser, then you will do whatever it takes to get the upper hand. If we would just abide by the word of God, we already have the upper hand. Doing the will of God will make us victorious over the enemy.

  30. When all the Israelites saw the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord coming into the camp, their shout of joy was so loud it made the ground shake!
    1 Samuel 4:5 NLT

No matter what mess might be going on in this world today. We as the Lords army must bring back the ark. We must establish that ark in our homes like never before, it’s time that we( the church) make the enemy tremble and afraid. It’s time to stand up and infect others with God’s joy, His peace, His Power and His love.

  31. “And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies. So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The elders rightly sensed they needed God’s help to win the battle. But they were wrong in the way they sought help. Instead of humbly repenting and seeking God, they turned to methods that God never approved. They only cared if it worked.

  32. 11 And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

God justly and wisely permitted the punishedment to the Israelites for their profanation to Him. By taking away the pretences of their foolish confidence, he humble them, and brought them to true repentance. Everytime some things happens in our life we must ask why did it happen. Bottom line is for us to repent from our wicked ways. That’s why, God allowed the Philistines to win and take the ark to teach Israel a lesson. That all power belong to God almighty, and He has the final word on everything. Live JESUS Give JESUS

  33. 4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God. 5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

What a mistake….So Israel went to battle against the Philistines and lost, they then decided to bring the ark of the covenant to the battlefield in belief that it would make the Lord give them victory. We all know that spiritual power cannot be obtained by carrying a Bible or wearing a cross, and no matter how many religious props a person may collect around them, God will not be manipulated. As in Prayer, prayer isn’t our opportunity to tell God what to do, but our privilege to lay our needs and other peoples needs before our loving and caring heavenly Father. Lord may your will be done nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else.

  34. 11 The ark of God was captured, and Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

    1 Samuel 4:11 NIV
    https://1samuel.bible/1-samuel-4-11

Everything has a purpose God has a plan for each and everyone of us, when we do not follow and listen to what God has asked us to do we get punished. Everything we do wrong or not right there is a punishment and God had a punishment for them and they did get punished for what they did, but behind everything there is always a purpose a good purpose that He has for you we just have to open up our hearts and let Him, come in you open up our eyes, to see what he has for us, to open up your ears to hear his word!
    LIVE, GIVE, JESUS!

  35. 10 And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.

11 And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

The people wanted to overcome egarly. They tried to become more faithful and how they served God. God was displeased with all of the sin in their household. In order to find the Lord and let him me pleased is to make sure we faithful and getting rid of those sins and asking for forgiveness.

  36. 22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

When sin is greater than your faith in God it all ends in destruction and even death! Seeking or crying out the Lord ONLY in time of need, will not get pass your roof of your home. God desires a relationship and your trust all the time. I pray that we always seek him wholeheartedly, so in time of need He can incline his ear to our needs.

  37. Leap first and ask questions later?

3 And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

This is a classic example of we do all the time as Christians. We get in a mess then want God to come take care of it for us. This is a lesson that we should pray before we get into any thing or make any decision. If we truly believe that God is God then we would trust him more. How do we forget like Israel all the awesome things he has done for us then make decisions without him? If we put God first he will take care of us.

  38. 6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.

7 And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

Our praise will confuse the enemy, lets stay Loud. Its our weapon and the enemy will try to steal our joy and quiet our praise, but God is greater!

  39. “they panicked. “The gods have come into their camp!” they cried. “This is a disaster! We have never had to face anything like this before! Help! Who can save us from these mighty gods of Israel? They are the same gods who destroyed the Egyptians with plagues when Israel was in the wilderness.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Philistines recognized that Israel serves a mighty powerful God. They feared of their own destruction, for they heard the loud praises of Israel to God. Our praises are heard loud and clear by our enemies, that they tremble!
So in the middle of this storm let us raise our praise with a voice of triumph!

  40. 17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.

18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

Dont turn a blind eye when unholy things are taking place in your home. This could result in the death of your spirit and your place with God.

  41. “Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness. Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The world knows about the mighty works of God. The world fears God and his exploits. We can win the world to the Lord if speak out and tell the whole world of God’s greatness.

  42. 21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.

22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

Without God there is no victory. The presence of God in your life is the key to obtaining victory in all areas of your life. Without it, without Gods glory, his presence, you do not have a protection or covering. It is in his presence where you find the 3 things that the ark of the covenant carried. The rod, the mana, and the tablets of stone with the commands from God. So it is in His presence that we obtain, miracles, provision, and a word from God.

  43. 15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see.

In our surprise and dismay to the situation at hand we can it can startle us and we fall into a position that we cannot come back from. Eli fell back in his hearing of the surprising news and hit his head and broke his neck. Don’t continually hear the bad news and fall back into a state of turmoil or into past mistakes that brings us to a point of no return. A moment that brings heartache of memories and eventually death. With all going on in our world, don’t be surprised by the new news that seems to update daily. Instead, mentally prepare yourself, brace yourself, and keep you eyes on Him! Keep the faith, because as Pastor reminded us tonight, He is a Faithful God!!!!

  44. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.

8 Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.

9 Be strong and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.

10 And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.

  45. “The Ark of God was captured, and Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were killed.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Gods word will always come to pass. Gods Word is a sure foundation that we can stand on. His Word is true and He is faithful.

“It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  46. “The Chest of God gone, father-in-law dead, husband dead, she named the boy Ichabod (Glory’s-Gone), saying, “Glory is exiled from Israel since the Chest of God was taken.””
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭4:21-22‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Spite that everything was gone there was still a son born. To me it seems another miracle in the midst of Chaos. We can always keep our heads up with constant reminders that our miracle is within reach always. As I was studying the word earlier I came across where Jesus said anyone who THIRST let em come. He didn’t say wait on me to give you drink he didn’t say trade your way to the fountain he didn’t say I’ll come to you. No. He said come. Folks Jesus is waiting on us! Come on somebody let’s get our miracle.

  47. SHOUT while you can, before the end
I feel like God is just creating another need for the people (to know who HE is)

    *** 1 Samuel 3:12 KJV
[12] In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

1 Samuel 4:5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

[20] And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it .

    Revelation 22:12 KJV
[12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
