1 Samuel 5

And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

    When they say He’s a jealous God they ain’t kidding.
    Look how the Lord set the example, he puts their idol their god flat on its face. There’s their hint they should’ve been worshiping the Lord alone. Because of their idolatry the Lord puts the hurt on em. People I think we need to watch what we do. Watch what we’re placing in front of the Lord or doing before we talk to God. He’s obviously jealous.

    After the Philistines captured the Ark of God, they took it from the battleground at Ebenezer to the town of Ashdod. They carried the Ark of God into the temple of Dagon and placed it beside an idol of Dagon. But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the Lord ! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again. But the next morning the same thing happened—Dagon had fallen face down before the Ark of the Lord again. This time his head and hands had broken off and were lying in the doorway. Only the trunk of his body was left intact.

    Hear o Israel the Lord thy God is One Lord. He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He is the one true living God. It is amazing that even the presence of God will be mightier than any idol or so called god. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will not be placed among other so called gods. The scripture states He is a jealous God. For all that he is we have to worship the fullness of his glory and his presence. I love serving a God that is not made up or even a dead god. But he is alive and sitting on the throne of mercy and grace in glory.

    He is the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the great physician, the everlasting father, the mighty god, counselor and his name is Jesus. I could go on and on, stating how good my god is. He is a friend that stickers closer than a brother. He is there to pick me up when I’m down. We have to live Jesus to give Jesus.

  4. The people of these different cities finally realized what was happening and did not want to feel the fallout for having the captured ark of God in their city. This obviously provoked God’s anger as gods were toppled over, tumors came and people were dumbfounded. Deuteronomy 6:4 AMP says “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one [the only God]!” Let us be alert and aware of what is going on around us, as people will begin to see the peace that only God can bring into a time of chaos, a time of fear as these different cities began to feel in this chapter. Philippians 4:7 AMP “And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].”

    Exodus 20:

    4. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

    5. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

  6. Judges 5:3 [ amp] Here, O kings; give ear, O princes I will sing praise to the Lord, the God of Israel.
    I will bless the Lord at all times! I will if him up with praise’s in my heart. There no other God like our God. I will sing unto the lord a new song.
    Tell everyone the goodness of the Lord.

    “every knee shall bow” to Jesus in that day, even that of false gods.

    Even the enemy knows the power of God. While it will always bath with me why some of our adversaries (excluding Satan) don’t choose to worship God bc they know how powerful he js. I’m still not surprised that the enemies of the Israelites knew who God was. No one wonders who the God of the Israelites is, when God said He would make His name known to All Nations, that’s exactly what He meant.
    The old testament also reveals to us that even sometimes the Israelites forgot who their God was and their enemies revered him more than they did. We must hold on to the power and remember the mercy of the god that we serve. The closer we get to the end time, the more vital it becomes that people know who our God is.

  9. 1 Samuel 5:6, 9-11 (NLT)

    vs. 2-5
    We are to place no other gods (idols) before Him, and there is no other gods besides Him. He is THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD.

    6) Then the LORD’s heavy hand struck the people of Ashdod and the nearby villages with a plague of tumors.

    9) But when the Ark arrived at Gath, the LORD’s heavy hand fell on its men, young and old; he struck them with a plague of tumors, and there was a great panic.
    10) So they sent the Ark of God to the town of Ekron, but when the people of Ekron saw it coming they cried out, “They are bringing the Ark of the God of Israel here to kill us, too!”
    11) The people summoned the Philistine rulers again and begged them, “Please send the Ark of the God of Israel back to its own country, or it will kill us all.” For the deadly plague from God had already begun, and great fear was sweeping across the town.

    All I could think of when I read this passage of scripture was, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

    Deut 6: 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

    Ex.20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

    Lev 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God

    I find it amusing that the image made of stone dagon felt in front of our mighty God and his head and hands broke off!!! It goes to show that God will ALWAYS BE GOD no matter where He is at!!! They’re going to know who the true God is even if it is by Him destroying the Philistines one by one as they’re trying so hard to remove the Ark of God. It is obvious they had no idea what they were getting into when they took the Ark of God. We should see this as an example of what could happen to the things that we place in priority over our God for He should always be our #1 on the list!!! Thank you Jesus for being my First Love!!!

  11. But the next morning the same thing happened—Dagon had fallen face down before the Ark of the Lord again. This time his head and hands had broken off and were lying in the doorway. Only the trunk of his body was left intact.

    Evil cannot stand in the Presence of God! I’m thankful for the Presence of the Lord in my home and the privilege to walk in the Spirit in His Presence. For His Hand to be on my family and I. I praise Your Holy Name, Jesus my Christ my Messiah.

    If the presence of the Lord doesn’t abide in you, doesn’t abide in your home, it will cause great chaos and destruction.

    There is no God like our God! To think that even a wooden idol would fall before the Ark of God.

    1Sa 5:4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    We cannot make God an idol. God is not some prize we can carry along with us. We’re not supposed to sing worship songs as a contestant on “American Idol”. We don’t go on tour singing about God just to make a name for ourselves, as many in the Christian Music industry has done. We can’t just put God in the room with these other idols…It ain’t gonna work. God demands obedience. These Philistines were attempting to make the God of Israel just another god. God will not allow us or anyone else to mock him. The angel of the Lord came and “cut” dagon’s head and hands off.

  16. 4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    No one and no thing can withstand the power and presence of God. I’m even surprised they didn’t consider how pesky their idol god was after this happened – clearly the God of Isreal is greater and stronger, why not just accept it and worship Him! Can’t be any clearer is all I’m saying! God reigns as King and one day every knee shall bow one way or another!

  17. 5:10 so they sent the ark of God to Elton but when the people of Enron saw it, they cried out,
    “ they are bringing the ark of the God of Israel here to kill us too”!!!
    God is worthy to be praise, worthy of all honor .
    Let us not take Gods presence in vain.
    We want His presence, we want and desire for Him to manifest Himself to us at all times.

    God was serious as well as today.

    Psalm 145:20,21 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
    My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord : and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

    The LORD sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to three ground.

    Repentance and obedience very very important,

  19. 11 The people summoned the Philistine rulers again and begged them, “Please send the Ark of the God of Israel back to its own country, or it will kill us all.” For the deadly plague from God had already begun, and great fear was sweeping across the town.

    It was obvious people had heard about the Ark and the destruction and illness it brought. They people believed the Ark was a bad omen, and wanted nothing to do with it. They realized the God of Israel and his power. Maybe some Philistines were converted to the one true God.

    The presence of God be long in one house, He’s not a House hopping God. Back in the day he belong in Israel today’s time he belongs in Israel, Today’s town in our hearts.

  21. In this chapter the ark was captured by the philistines. But they got it back. The ark was an important part in the Bible. It’s kinda like something special to us and then someone stole it. That is a least one example of why we should not steal.

    The ark of the lord is for the God. Jesus broke the head of the Dagon and his hands

  23. “Then the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and He caused them to be dumbfounded and struck them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory.”

    “The men who had not died were stricken with tumors and the cry of the city [for help] went up to heaven.”

    God is a very jealous god and should not be played with. Be careful what you are spreading to others. Be careful that you are spreading the truth. Don’t throw god around like he’s this unwanted thing because he’s not something to be played with.

  24. 10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

    11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

    They would rather send the ark away than to change their ways. This sounds like the world we live in. This world has slowly allowed the principles of the word of God to die in their live and men and women in power do not know God and they worship their own Gods. Yet, when the presence of God is evident they would rather push it to the side and send it somewhere else than to allow it to change their ways.

    Lord send revival to our nation! Lord send peace to our world.

  25. I Samuel 5:11 & 12
    “They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it return to its own place, that it may not kill us and our people.” For there was a deathly panic throughout the whole city. The hand of God was very heavy there. The men who did not die were struck with tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.”

    You’ve got to be careful who you entertain… the people knew that the Ark of God was not something to be played with, but there’s always that group that want you to believe sins ok, no one will know… WRONG… God knows, hears and sees it all! Don’t let people convince you sin is okay, there’s always a payday!!

    Lord help us to keep our heart, soul and mind focused on you during this time of uncertainty!

  26. I learned that that Dagon fell and the Ark of the covenant was for God. The people of Dagon put him back but he fell again so they sent the ark away.

  27. 1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

    2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

    3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

    4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    God’s power will always stand up against the enemy. They thought taking the ARK of the Lord would bring them the same victory that it brought the children of Israel, but not so. They were not in covenant with God like the Israelites.

    The devil always has a counterfeit. People receive the Holy Ghost and have the anointing of God, and then they decide they don’t need to live separated, holy unto the Lord but can do their own thing and still have His Spirit and feel His Anointing. However, once covenant of separation is broken with God, it’s just the counterfeit that they are experiencing. They no longer possess the true power of HIS Spirit because they left HIS Spirt and are now operating on human spirit.

  28. 4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    Nothing and no one can compare to the mighty God of Israel. He is creator and rules heaven and earth. Idols made by man will not stand in his presence. Dagon had to bow to Jehovah! The gods of this world know who he is and tremble in fear of him. I’m thankful I know him today in the power of the Holy Ghost! Let me be contagious and spread this revelation to others, even the apostolic doctrine.

    Darkness and light cannot occupy the same space. When the glory of the Lord is in your house, all other things that may have taken His place will fall. I thank God for never changing. I pray we continue to self-examine ourselves, ensuring He is first in our lives.

    ALL FALL DOWN

    As I read this passage today an old school yard rhyme came to mind:

    Ring-a-round the rosie,
    A pocket full of posies,
    Ashes! Ashes!
    We all fall down.

    I am extremely intrigued by my findings of this particular rhyme because of the legend and thought of its origin. It is suggested that the rhyme refers to a very deadly time and disease. However, snopes.com refutes the reference but offers no other findings. Nevertheless, in this application we witness the POWER of the Glory of GOD.

    My spiritual mind leads me to the promise of GOD:

    Isiah 45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
    21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
    22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
    23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

    Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
    11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

    This 2 passages further establish that JESUS is GOD while also affirming why the dead god Dagon fell down to WORSHIP GOD at the ARK of GOD.

    We should never fear nor underestimate the power of GOD along with who and what bows to HIM. EVERY thing will bow to JESUS. Stay on the humble side and maintain the presence of GOD in your life and you will experience VICTORY in JESUS name.

    Our God is so great and so mighty that all other gods bow to Him!! Even fake, inanimate gods that have no life or meaning bow down to the one true God or which we serve and worship. “. . . Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord;”

    6 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
    12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

    We’ve seen in multiple places where God has punished people for their unbelief or their affliction against His people, however, this is the first it is spoken that he has given wrongdoers hemorrhoids. He is a jealous God and wants all to know of His great power and might.

    Emerods: Description
    Emerods is an archaic term for hemorrhoids. Derived from the Old French word emoroyde, it was used as the common English term until the nineteenth century, after which it was replaced in medicine by a direct transliteration of the original Greek term haimorrhoides.

    Sometimes when men disgrace the glory of God, we fear God will go without glory. We think the glory has departed. But when men and women will not glorify God, God will glorify Himself.

  33. 9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

    You should never try and go against the lord and his will because the more you go against him the greater the destruction will be that follows, we must always be willing to follow his will and every commandment that he give Instead of trying to rebel against it because we should always want to be obedient unto him and his will.

  34. And they did not want it bc it would kill their kids

    God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

  35. ‘So they sent word and gathered all the lords of the Philistines and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel; let it be returned to its own place, so that it will not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly panic throughout the city; the hand of God was very heavy (severe) there. ‘ 1 Samuel 5:11

    We can see throughout this chapter how fast the news can spread throughout the land. They sent word, they begged, and there was communication about what was going on.

    We all know news travels, so let’s spread The Good News of what The Lord is doing!

  36. 3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

    4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    Nothing is greater than my God! His power continually reigns in all the land. This world will push us and God away but we must know that in his favor we will overcome anything that is against us! We must keep trying to reach those around us so they too will know of his power and know that without him it will be must worse. In the end we come to him but the lost will still be lost. More than anything this world needs to know there is a God great than this and they need to turn back to him!

  38. 7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

    Here we see the ark of the covenant getting passed around like a game of hot potato. The Philistines hand it off to Ashdod, then to Gath and Ekron. They simply cannot keep what was not given to them by God. Anything that exhibits the presence of God will not abide well in a wicked environment. God’s Word still stands no matter where the ark is at. If he told the Israelites how to treat the ark of the covenant those same instructions do not expire.

    Dagon is a prime example of trying to handle something he doesn’t understand. He knows that it is holy and respects the ark of the covenant. This is a likeness of the world because they say they honor and love God but have not read the instruction manual (the Bible) to understand what Jesus says that means. Being a Christian is more than a title.

    Holiness is a requirement to serve God. Each place the ark of the covenant is passed to does not meet those requirements and are subject to the wrath of God. I believe that God allowed the ark to be passed for other nations to understand that our God is more than a lucky box. They don’t understand Him but they do understand that their is no place for it in the midst of their false god worship. What does like have to do with darkness? How can two walk together unless they agree? We are to mix with the world like oil and vinegar in the same environment but never bond. A covalent bond is when two molecules bind together, we are to bind to Jesus and repel the things of this world.

  39. 1Samuel 5:9
    ” Entonces enviaron el arca de Dios a Ecrón. Y cuando el arca de Dios vino a Ecrón, los ecronitas dieron voces, diciendo: Han pasado a nosotros el arca del Dios de Israel para matarnos a nosotros y a nuestro pueblo. Y enviaron y reunieron a todos los príncipes de los filisteos, diciendo: Enviad el arca del Dios de Israel, y vuélvase a su lugar, y no nos mate a nosotros ni a nuestro pueblo; porque había consternación de muerte en toda la ciudad, y la mano de Dios se había agravado allí. Y los que no morían, eran heridos de tumores; y el clamor de la ciudad subía al cielo.

    * ” Entonces enviaron el arca de Dios a Ecrón”
    El arca del Pacto ahora estaba entre los Filisteos como una “papa caliente,” en el juego de niños, quemando cada ciudad en la que se quedaba. Los Ecronitas no estaban contentos de ver el arca pero aún así no se sometieron a Jehová Dios de Israel.

    * “Enviad el arca del Dios de Israel, y vuélvase a su lugar”
    Los Filisteos, si se hubieran arrepentido y buscado a Jehová, pudieron haberse beneficiado del arca. Pero en vez de eso, ésta se convirtió en juicio y maldición para ellos.

    *Lo mismo es verdad sobre la presencia de Dios entre Nosotros hoy en día, la cual puede ser como una fragancia de vida para unos , pero también un aroma de muerte para otros.

  40. Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord: again, and in a worse condition than before: and the head of Dagon, and both the palms of his hands, were cut off upon the threshold; of the temple, upon which he fell with such force, that the threshold cut off his head, and both his hands; which signified he had neither wisdom to contrive for his own safety, nor strength and power to defend himself. There is no god that can stand next to out God. Our God is powerful, He is so powerful to destroy Idolatry. He is God alone.

  41. The ark of the covenant was stolen from Israel and the true God was for Israel. Ashdod had the ark of the covenant and realized that their god Dagon wasn’t as strong as the “real” God our Lord and savior. God had meant the ark to be for Israel only so God put his wrath on those that were not meant to have the ark of the covenant. DO NOT go against our true God. You will not win, ever!

  42. 8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

    9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

    They didn’t have the presence of the Lord in them, or in their home and so many troubled things happened. Having the presence of the Lord in your household will protect your household, having the sprit of the Lord in you will protect you. God is always with you in his spirit, give yourself to him and your household so there will be no chaos.

  43. 9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

    It is wise to have God on your side in all situations.

    What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

  44. 4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

  45. “But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the LORD! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again. But the next morning the same thing happened—Dagon had fallen face down before the Ark of the LORD again. This time his head and hands had broken off and were lying in the doorway. Only the trunk of his body was left intact. That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor anyone who enters the temple of Dagon in Ashdod will step on its threshold.”

    12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

    His presence is your protection and defense. We see what the ark does to the enemies of God. It literally what the hand of God heavy upon them.
    You want God’s protection over your life? Get in his presence, make room for the Lord a habitation that to you it will be a blessing but to your enemies, their destruction.

    When the ark of the Lord was captured its was put beside an idol of a Dagon. The next day the head of the Dagon was fallen so the Philistine restore the head to its original part but yet again the ark of Lord made the Dagon fallen back to the floor. The power of the Lord is great and marvelous He makes our enemies stumble under our feet, He turns the evil into good.

  48. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

    6 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

    7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

  49. In your face devil

    4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

    This is a prophesy of the end time. Every knee shall bow. The enemy has already been defeated. The enemy will be on his face before Jesus in the end. In your face devil

  50. But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

    Those that fight against God will soon have enough of it, and, first or last, will be made to know that none ever hardened their hearts against him and prospered. We must always be sentiste to the Lord. Jesus help me be more sensitive to you Lord!!!

  51. I love this chapter. It shows how God is a jealous God. He struck down a false God and then hurt those of the Cory who continued to follow the false God.

    He still does those type of things today. If we place something over him, he will strike it down. Money, cars, shows, games, sports, technology… he will strike it all down and if we do t get a clue, he can “speak” to us personally until we get the hint that He is God and He alone should be praised.

  52. 10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

    Oh what a mighty God we serve! Even people who didn’t worship him new his great powers and they wanted nothing to do with the ark because they new what God would do.

    God will glorify Himself. Sometimes when men disgrace the glory of God, we fear God will go without glory. We think the glory has departed. But when men and women will not glorify God, God will glorify Himself.

    I feel like God allows things that would normally not happen to take place in order to clean house..

    God had allowed this leprosy to continue on because there had to be a need

    I feel like God takes us to a place where that has to be a need…
