1 Samuel 9

Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

10 Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

11 And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

12 And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:

13 As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

14 And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

18 Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.

19 And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?

21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

22 And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

23 And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.

24 And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

25 And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

26 And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

  1. 15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

Even through all that Israel was going to do and all that God had done, even when Israel cried unto Samuel because he was old and could not judge much more, God honored their plea for a king. God had chose the man that would save Israel from the phillistines and that possibly lead them back to God as a nation of people. God hand picked Saul because he was a goodier than most as the scripture stated. He was head and shoulders above every one else.

I can I say that just because you are much more good than everyone and you are fairer than most and just because you are hand chosen by God, does not give you the ability to be about your own agenda. You have to honor the anointing of the Lord and obey the voice of God. We have to be diligent about the business of the kingdom. We have a mission to save the lost and we can not just play church. We have to be the church that wins souls. Jesus is about souls and we have to be about those that need to be filled with God’s spirit and pulled out of the clutches of sin. We have to live Jesus so we can give Jesus in this last day when God is getting ready to pour out his spirit. God is not limited by what we don’t have he is only limited by what we are not willing to give him.

  2. Verses 15-16 MSG “The very day before, God had confided in Samuel, “This time tomorrow, I’m sending a man from the land of Benjamin to meet you. You’re to anoint him as prince over my people Israel. He will free my people from Philistine oppression. Yes, I know all about their hard circumstances. I’ve heard their cries for help.” God had already set in motion the answer, as we read in the rest of these verses to end this chapter of all the preparation that took place. God confided in the man of God, Samuel. Saul’s obedience and his willingness to hear what the man of God instructs will be key. We too must pray for our Pastor as the Lord instructs him to lead us through this time. We may not always agree or understand; but, our obedience and willingness to hear what the Lord has already set in motion will be key.

  3. Thank you Jesus , let us have a great day

When they reached the edge of town, Samuel told Saul to send his servant on ahead. After the servant was gone, Samuel said, “Stay here, for I have received a special message for you from God.”
    1 Samuel 9:27 NLT

  4. 13 As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

14 And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

God has placed a shepherd in our life to seek after God and guide us through good times and bad; we must pray for him that God would give him wisdom, especially in this present time. We must pray for his strength both spiritually and physically.

  5. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
FOCUS ON THE WORD OF GOD

27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Most of the deepest revelations granted to man are given when we invest alone time with the WORD of GOD. The sincerely seek an answer one can find direction from the WORD of GOD. We are greater BLESSED to know that we find guidance also thorough the Holy Spirit.

We witness here that the man of GOD first desired to for Saul to be alone to hear the WORD of GOD. Often people are distracted from the WORD of GOD and must be isolated to hear and receive. During this time of community isolation we are wise to spend time alone with GOD and hear HIS WORD and receive HIS Spirit.

GOD is calling HIS people to a place near HIM. It is a very dangerous time to be slack in Prayer and the WORD of GOD. No doubt this is a season of testing, to test the resolve of the Church and how we will respond when the Mark of the Beast is initiated. We are wise to make JESUS our First choice. Seek First The Kingdom of GOD. Now is our opportunity to Live and Give JESUS to our family and world.

Until we can gather together again in person, let us gather together here daily in the WORD of GOD and Prayer that we be not deceived in these last days.

  6. 6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

Saul and his servant sought out Samuel for guidance because of what they have heard about him. Samuel was an anointed man of God but he was also an honorable anointed man of God. Samuel’s character was very careful not to say things that God did not tell him, we know that because everything he said came to pass. Not because Samuel was so powerful but because he knew how to listen to the voice of God and only speak when God speaks. Let the same be said of the church. That people will seek us out in times of distress, let them say ” let’s go to the church, we know such and such about them by their action” allowing God to draw more people in because of our sensitivity to respond to his word

  7. 26. And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

The first thing he did that day was receive a Word from God.

    Psalm 63:1
    O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

    Before I speak a word
    Let me hear Your voice
And in the midst of pain
    Let me feel Your joy
    I wanna know You
    I wanna find You
    In every season
    In every moment
    Before I speak a word
    I will bring my heart
    And seek You
    FIRST

    I wanna seek You
    FIRST
    I wanna keep You

    More than anything I want
    I want You

  8. “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.” When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said, “That’s the man I told you about! He will rule my people.”

As crazy as life can get some times, God still has a plan. He is still Sovereign. Im thankful that my God has His Hand in all of us, especially during this time.

  9. I Samuel 9

19-20 “I’m the Seer,” said Samuel. “Accompany me to the shrine and eat with me. In the morning I’ll tell you all about what’s on your mind, and send you on your way. And by the way, your lost donkeys—the ones you’ve been hunting for the last three days—have been found, so don’t worry about them. At this moment, Israel’s future is in your hands.”

21 Saul answered, “But I’m only a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and from the most insignificant clan in the tribe at that. Why are you talking to me like this?”

But I am only a Benjaminite . God has plans for us to work for Him. From the youngest to the oldest. The least to the most. God can take the most insignificant and use them for the miraculous. The prophet had just spoken to Saul. Saul had went looking for his father’s donkeys but God had something else in mind. Little is much when God is in it. What is He calling each of us to do . Do we think that God cannot use us for His Kingdom. Sauls life was getting ready to change . Just a moment with the prophet was going to change his entire future. An entire nation was about to be his assignment. Oh how just a moment God can change everything. What is He calling out to each of us to do ? Be still and hear the voice of God. Know God like you have never known Him before . Our nation is in trouble what is God asking . So as we are out searching for donkeys ( toilet paper, food , hand sanitizer) is God telling us leave that in His hands and saying He has greater things for us to do ? Be still and hear His voice .

  10. 1 Samuel 9:6 & 27
    6) And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

    27) And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

As I read these scriptures, I thought of Pastor Watts. There is in this city, Fort Worth, a Man of God, and he is an honourable man. I’m so Thankful that when we need direction in our life, we can go to Pastor Watts for guidance. He will shew and instruct us in the Word of God, and what he feels from the Lord, the direction we should take. We just have to stand still and listen. Thank You Pastor Watts!!

    Pastor & Sis. Watts — Numbers 6:24-26
    24) The LORD bless the, and keep thee:
    25) The LORD make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
    26) The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

  11. iLove the Lord
Wow, what most folk would call coincidences, God had really orchestrated. The following is from a commentary but seem to fit my thoughts exactly. Sometimes when we lose something, it works out for the better good.

How should Saul and Samuel be brought together? A succession of trifling and ordinary events prove to be the links in the divinely constructed chain. The lost the prolonged search, the fear of the effect of anxiety upon Kish, the timely suggestion of the servant and his possession of a few coins which would serve as an introduction, the greeting of the young girls on their way to the well-what accidents they seem! Nay, but they are providences! All things work together to execute God’s purpose. Nothing is too trivial to be part of the divine plan. Let us follow the indications of God’s will-they lead to the waiting seat, the reserved portion, and the ultimate throne.

  12. 2 And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

Saul was a good young man. I wonder what happen? Was it the power? The riches? I hat changed him at the end??
God help us stay faithful to you and help us help those that need you. Compel them to seek you and put them in our path that we may serve you. In Jesus Name Amen

  13. 27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Saul had a lot going for him. But none of it would have mattered if he didn’t know the word of God.

There are many characteristics we should have as Christians such as; kindness, patience, love for others, godliness, etc. But if we do not know the word of the Lord, none of that matters.

  14. To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me. And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
    1 Samuel 9:16‭, ‬21 KJV

Many people feel lost, lonely, hopeless, and full of anxiety not just for themselves but for the people around them.
They’ve lost the path that GOD has set before them.

One of my daughters came over yesterday. She was desperate as anxiety had set in. She began to cry and came to me wanting to hold her as she cried in my arms. She said mom ‘ I can feel the desperation and fear in the lives of the people.’ I told her the way she can help them is to begin with prayer, God will hear you. As I looked at her tears began to fall. My little girlsknows she can Live and Give Jesus. But she feels somewhat like Saul. How can the LORD use her? POFW thank you for your continued prayers for our prodigal children❤❤❤ because I still believe the prophet when he said ‘our children/babies are coming home!’

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
    Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬13 KJV

  15. 16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

  16. Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

  17. 1 Samuel 9:27 [ amp] And as they going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant paddle on before us and he passed on but you stand still, first, that I may cause you to hear the word of God.
We have to stand still and wait upon the Lord and see what he has plan for all of this.
This is all in his hands! I know in my heart something good is going to happen for us.
Thank you Pastor for leading us to the right way and the guiding us through God’s Word.
Who’s report will you believe! His name Jesus!

  18. 9:24 …… set it before thee and eat: ➡️ For unto this
Time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people so Saul did it.
    —-
For unto this time hath it been kept…
For unto this time( not just any vague day, but this day
This special day, now what was kept fo him
Not just any part of the animal, but a special part. A chosen one, with a great meaning behind it.
In the midst of this crazy unfortunate time, Let Gods body
( CHURCH) keep looking up, for NOW is the time!!
    Of salvation .
    I believe
    I obey
    I expect
    (I do my part)
Hallelujah , blessed be the name of the Lord🙌🙌🙌
    ….Something g about following instructions.

  19. 24 Then the cook lifted up the leg (thigh) with the meat that was on it [indicating that it was the priest’s honored portion] and placed it before Saul. Samuel said, “Here is what has been reserved [for you]. Set it before you and eat, because it has been kept for you until the appointed time, ever since I invited the people.” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.

The Lord had already prepared Samuel that he would meet Saul, so Samuel held back a portion of the best meat so that Saul would recognize that he was being honored by Samuel in the presence of the other 30 men who also were at the table.

The Lord has already prepared great blessings for us, His appointed children. We, like Saul, have to seek out God and take time to sit at His table and commune with Him in order for Him to extend those blessings to us. We must get out of the microwave mentality that we just need to visit Him for a minute or two and go on about our day. Saul sat down at a meal with Samuel in order to receive the best portion of that meal. We must set down at the feet of Jesus, and let Him know we enjoy His presence, we are honored to be there and we want whatever it is He has reserved for us each day.

  20. 27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Step one: Know the Word. God saw a man faithful to service and saw a man He could use, all he needed to was to learn the Word. God can use anyone who is willing and faithful!

  21. “And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wanted to her Sauls attention but couldn’t get it until he was still and alone. Sometimes god wants to tell us things but can’t because it’s not for everyone to hear. It’s important we have that place where it’s just you and god away from all the distractions so that way you can truly hear what he has for you.

  22. “Now the Lord had told Samuel the previous day,”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    “You Made a way
Don’t know how but You did it
    Made a way
Standing here not knowing how we’ll get through this test
But holding unto faith You know that
Nothing can catch You by surprise
You got this figured out and You’re watching us now
But when it looks as if we can’t win
You wrap us in Your arm and step in
And everything we need You supply
    You got this in control
    And now we know that
    You made a way”

Today may look like an absolute mess, you may have lost your donkeys are far away from home. But God has already made a way YESTERDAY before you even knew you were going to need a way!

  23. 27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Every answer is in the word of God. But if you don’t give your heart to serving God, and submit to Him as your king, you will never be a fit king for Israel. He knew what needed to be made and made the decision to show them the word!!! There is revelation when we read His Word!!! At any situation that you may be in your life, God will speak to you.

  24. I Samuel 9:27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, ( and he passed on ,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

“Stand thou still a while “ apply the meaning to your own condition, experience, circumstances and we will see the word of God in our life.

Seek Him and wait patiently for a Word from the Lord.

  25. 21Saul replied, “But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?”

Never think you are not worthy of obtaining a position. God will put you there when you least expect it. Whether its at work or church, you have earned your position, by your prayers. Stay positive and you’ll be blessed.

  26. 1 Samuel 9:3-14

    * “No las hallaron… y tampoco… no las encontraron”

  27. 1 Samuel 9:15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying
9:16 to morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

Saul had said he was just a Benjamite of the smallest of tribes of Israel and was wondering why he was treated special. Samuel said to Saul that he wanted to show him the word of God. God had talked to Samuel and He knew Saul would be coming because God knows ALL!!!!! Trust & believe in the Lord God!

  28. “Now a day before Saul came, the LORD had informed Samuel [of this], saying, “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him as leader over My people Israel; and he will save My people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked upon [the distress of] My people, because their cry [for help] has come to Me.” When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, “There is the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall rule over My people [as their king].””
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:15-17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

One thing I stands out to me about this chapter is the relationship between Samuel and the Lord. That rapport is admirable. I pray that we would all have that a close relationship with the Lord like that.

  29. And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

5 And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

  30. ““When you get to the oak of Tabor, you will see three men coming toward you who are on their way to worship God at Bethel. One will be bringing three young goats, another will have three loaves of bread, and the third will be carrying a wineskin full of wine. They will greet you and offer you two of the loaves, which you are to accept. “When you arrive at Gibeah of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is located, you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the place of worship. They will be playing a harp, a tambourine, a flute, and a lyre, and they will be prophesying. At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. After these signs take place, do what must be done, for God is with you. Then go down to Gilgal ahead of me. I will join you there to sacrifice burnt offerings and peace offerings. You must wait for seven days until I arrive and give you further instructions.” As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day. When Saul and his servant arrived at Gibeah, they saw a group of prophets coming toward them. Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he, too, began to prophesy. When those who knew Saul heard about it, they exclaimed, “What? Is even Saul a prophet? How did the son of Kish become a prophet?” And one of those standing there said, “Can anyone become a prophet, no matter who his father is?” So that is the origin of the saying “Is even Saul a prophet?” When Saul had finished prophesying, he went up to the place of worship. “Where have you been?” Saul’s uncle asked him and his servant. “We were looking for the donkeys,” Saul replied, “but we couldn’t find them. So we went to Samuel to ask him where they were.””
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭10:3-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God wanted to use this situation to guide Saul, and God will often use circumstances in our lives the same way. We need to trust in God’s goodness and in His ability to make all things work together for good (Romans 8:28).

  31. 15 Now the day before Saul came, the Lord had revealed this to Samuel:

16 “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over my people Israel; he will deliver them from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has reached me.”

17 When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the Lord said to him, “This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.”

At times we may feel like things are just falling apart. And things are just not going right but, the truth is that they are not falling apart because God is in control of everything! He knows what he is doing! He has everything in control. We just have to let him work in us, and he never stops working he is always working and fighting are battle’s!!

  32. 20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found.

Samuel thought he was not worthy enough because he came from the smallest tribe of Benjamin. Never think of yourself as not worthy because of where you come from, the Lord made us all the same. God will use you even if you don’t expect it. You have worked by keeping your promises to the Lord and following his commandments, if you continue your life will be filled with blessings.

  33. 21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Both that evening and early the next morning, Samuel communed with Saul upon the flat roof of the house. We may suppose Samuel now convinced Saul that he was the person God had fixed upon yo be King of Israel, and of his own willingness to resign. How different are the purposes of the Lord for us, from our intentions for ourselves! Perhaps Saul was the only one who ever went out to seek donkey’s, and literally found a kingdom; but many have set out and moved their dwellings to seek riches and pleasures, who have been guided to places where they found salvation for their souls. This is why so important to seek the kingdom of God First. 34. 15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

God desires to speak to man and show him His plans. Yet there must be someone willing to be so close to Him that they hear His voice. Someone willing to not only hear but obey.

  35. 15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

The Lord is in control and has a plan. Sometimes we don’t know what things are ginn bring up. We go about our business trying to do what is best. The Lord has a plan though. He already knew best Saul and his servant were gonna be out on a 3 day journey looking for the donkeys. Yet that search journey turned into the plans of the Lord. Interestingly enough that he used Saul’s servant to direct Saul to the man of God. He has put it in his heart to say he let’s go get a word of direction from the man of God. And God had spoken to Samuel that he was bringing a man to be the leader of his people.

  36. 26 And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

In the very beginning of their relationship Sail trusted Samuel without question and God was pleased. If we truly believe in our man of Goo ok d we would have no questions when he speaks. We believe he hears from God in our behalf’s and we believe he is called for this purpose. If we truly believe that we can truly follow him as he follows Christ. In this time we are living in we must trust the man of God.

  37. “And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God takes the remnant and makes something beautiful with it. From this smallest part of the tribe of Israel comes a king. We are nothing of ourselves, but God sees us as something more. We are part of his body and a mighty warrior in his kingdom.

  38. “Saul answered, “But I’m only a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and from the most insignificant clan in the tribe at that. Why are you talking to me like this?””
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Is doesn’t matter where you come from or what your background is God can use anybody from anywhere.

  39. 20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found.

  40. Don’t worry with the previous or present concerns God already knows in HE is working them out..
God is talking to hearts (even when we don’t see it)

    1 Samuel 9:2 KJV
[2] And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

    (Why the size/measurements)

    1 Samuel 9:16 KJV
[16] To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
