1 Samuel 12

And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.

And he said unto them, The Lord is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

And Samuel said unto the people, It is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lord of all the righteous acts of the Lord, which he did to you and to your fathers.

When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

And when they forgat the Lord their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

10 And they cried unto the Lord, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

11 And the Lord sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.

12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the Lord your God was your king.

13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the Lord hath set a king over you.

14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the Lord will do before your eyes.

17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the Lord, in asking you a king.

18 So Samuel called unto the Lord; and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.

19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the Lord thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;

21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lordin ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

  2. Repent and stay away from idols and other gods for there’s only one God and his name is JESUS. Stop trying to find other kings for he is the king of Kings. Never dishonor God . The world will pass away but God will reign forever

  4. Verses 23-25 MSG “And neither will I walk off and leave you. That would be a sin against God! I’m staying right here at my post praying for you and teaching you the good and right way to live. But I beg of you, fear God and worship him honestly and heartily. You’ve seen how greatly he has worked among you! Be warned: If you live badly, both you and your king will be thrown out.” We must LIVE-GIVE JESUS as we pray for one another and worship him together in unity.

Colossians 1:9-12 AMP “For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.”

    Joshua 24:15 KJVS
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  6. Only fear the Lord , and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
    1 Samuel 12:24 KJV

Now is not the time(or ever) to compromise your relationship with Christ! The LORD has shown His faithfulness thru this pandemic. The church is truly blessed. Our ears have heard, our eyes have seen, and ours hearts have felt and seen the fear and the chaos in the lives of people who are seeking direction for their spouse and children. show them love without measure. Our daily living should guide them directly to the Saviour! Relationships are crucial at this moment, continue to be a light in a very lost and dark world.

But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers. God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Wow!!! Can Samuel call it like it is!!! That’s why I love my Pastor for he sugar coats nothing!!!! We need to learn a few lessons from what Samuel said, starting with the fact that we shouldn’t worry about politics. Don’t get me wrong, please always exercise your right to vote, but worry not for we need NO OTHER KING THAN JESUS CHRIST. So what happens in Washington does not affects us. After all it is Jesus who puts them in power for a grain of sand does not move an inch without our God knowing about it. The Israelites asked for a king when they already had the Best King of kings. Then, Samuel shows them that God has answer them and have been there every time they cried out to Him; but as soon as they get comfortable again they forget about God and go messing with idols and sin. So Samuel teams up with God to teach them a lesson. It’s almost comical because Samuel kind of forewarned them that they’re about to make a big mistake by taking a king, but they don’t listen. When the storms come, they cry out again. At the end, Samuel said something that pricked my heart because it reminded me of my Pastor for I know our Pastor is praying for us like crazy right now. You see, I see my Pastor like a father that watches over us and on Sundays and Wednesday is like roll call. He looks about the congregation seeing our faces and reassuring himself “Yep, they’re all here and accounted for”. It has to be hard not knowing where we are all at, with all this uncertainties in this world, I know he is praying for each and everyone of us. I pray for his heart. So please make sure that you assure him that you are ok when you watch via internet. Show your support for the POFW work, tithe, give generously, now more than ever, and pray for the tent to expand, and for the nets to be overflowing. In Jesus Name Amen

  8. 1 Samuel 12:20-22 (VOICE)
    20) Don’t be frightened. It is true that you have done evil, but never stop following the Eternal One. Serve Him completely,
    21) And do not follow empty things that do not have the power to benefit or save you. They are worthless.
    22) For the sake of His reputation, He will not cast away His chosen people. Before you ever chose him, the Eternal One chose you as His own because it pleased Him.

“You Have Done Evil, But Never Stop Following The Eternal One”
How many times have we heard and been told to “Stop Living In The Past.” When we sin and make mistakes, the devil would like nothing more than for us to stay right there and stop following and serving the Lord. He wants us to live in our sins, our mistakes, our faults, our failures. He wants us to “Live In Our Past.”
    BUT
The Lord does not want us to live in our sins and mistakes. He wants us to “Stop Living In The Past.” He wants us to REPENT, and Follow Him, and Serve Him Completely with ALL Of Our Heart.
If we “Stop” Following and Serving the Lord, What is there to go back to? There is Nothing there to Save us, It is Empty and Worthless. (even Peter said to Jesus in St. John 6:68, “… Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.”)
So, if you have sinned or made a mistake, Don’t Stop. REPENT and ask God’s forgiveness. He will forgive you, because He loves You and chose you to be His Child. Keep Following Him and Serving Him with ALL Of Your Heart!

“When I fall, I shall Arise!!”

  9. Obey God’s commandments .Fear the Lord Serve him in truth with all your heart. And know the great things he has done for you

  10. 23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lordin ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

Things are going to be as simple or as complex as we make them. We choose whom we serve and we choose how complex or easy it’s going to be to make decisions. We can either live for God hard and make it easy or LIVE for God easy which makes it hard. When we haven’t set and our spirit that we are going to follow God no matter how we feel the decisions become much more clear on what we are supposed to do.

  11. 14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

The warning from Samuel was very clear to Israel, either obey the commandments and voice of the Lord and you will follow the Lord to do well. If you rebel against the commandments and the voice of God then the hand of the Lord will be against them as it was against their fathers. I am always amazed how the cycle of Israel was always continuing to run. I wonder how many times God was going to try to get their attention. This shows sinners and saints alike that God is a merciful God. He wants to save us and not destroy us. He has place not only his hand upon us, but also his grace and anointing for us to be successful moving his kingdom forward.

Everyday life is tough and their are difficult decisions we have to make. When we heed the voice of God even when we don’t fully understand God will always take care of us. That is why trusting Him and submitting to the voice of the man in authority over us will always lead us down the right paths. As long as we obey the commandments and the voice of God. Living Jesus to be able to give Jesus will mean we will inherit eternal life with the king of kings and the lord of lords.

  12. iLove Jesus
1Sa 12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

Being a minister requires us to be blameless. Samuel stood here before the people with total boldness because he was blameless. He hadn’t cheated anyone, nor had he deceived anyone. He could stand before man and God without guilt and shame. This is a good example of the life of a man of God. It’s really a shame that his sons did not inherit his relationship with God.

  13. 23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lordin ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we, as leaders of the people of God, fail to pray for them, it is a sin. It is the duty of a leader to pray.

Perhaps you never get behind pulpit, you can still sit at the throne of God and move mountains in the lives of people, simply by praying.

“Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?”
    ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  14. “As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
    1 Samuel 12:23‭-‬24 NLT

I have experienced entire mind shifts just by giving the Lord deep respect and reverence. Serving Him and seeking Him first. And meditating on His Word and confessing my thanks and gratitude to Him. It pulls us our of negative thinking. Gratitude alone changes our brain. Our problems seem less and less as we focus on Him more and more.

  15. I Samuel 12
22 For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own. 23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you.

We must continue to pray. Pray for the lost and the saved . Prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
    Pray without ceasing. Pray!

  16. 14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

  17. We should continue on in these difficult times as if times were not difficult. God has provided for those who follow him in good times and bad. Seek him stay close to him and he will direct our paths. Jesus is the only way.

  18. 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;
21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.
22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

We are his people and he will never leave us nor forsake us. He loved us so much that he died on the cross for our sins. There is not greater love than this. When we do wrong just ask for forgiveness and then from it. Don’t run from him turn to him because he loves us not matter what.

  19. In this Chapter Samuel was begging to get old, and they were looking for a new king, but they still had his sons. The people also said some very nice things that Samuel did while he was king. We should also be like Samuel was and trust in God, be and be kind.

  20. 1 Samuel 12:22-23 [ amp] The Lord will not forsake His people for His great name’s sake, for it has pleased Him to make you a people for Himself.
[23] Moreover , as for me , far be it from me that I should the sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; But I will instruct you in the good and right way. Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider how great are things He has done for you.
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praise. Keep on praying and fasting for a great revival for souls to come back and repent and be baptize in Jesus name. I believe there is a door opening up for great holy revival coming up!
[ Ps. 22:6] [ amp] Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord[ and His presencd] shall be my dwelling place. Amen.

  21. In today’s modern time we recognize so many things like books, artists, games. But only a small portion of people know who God is. If the people recognize the Lord then we would be recognized as God’s people.

  22. “All right, here is the king you have chosen. You asked for him, and the Lord has granted your request. “Now if you fear and worship the Lord and listen to his voice, and if you do not rebel against the Lord’s commands, then both you and your king will show that you recognize the Lord as your God. But if you rebel against the Lord’s commands and refuse to listen to him, then his hand will be as heavy upon you as it was upon your ancestors.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:13-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Samuel presents Israel with an important choice. They were disobedient in wanting a king, yet God gave them one. Even so, if they would fear the LORD and serve Him, God could still bless them.

  23. 23“As for me, I will certainly not sin against the LORD by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right. 24 But be sure to fear the LORD and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you. 25 But if you continue to sin, you and your king will be swept away.”

We all should be able to say this “As for me, I will certainly not sin against God knowingly”, yes we’ll do our best, but we are carnal and will sin. But pray for forgiveness and all will be forgotten by God.

  24. AMP – 12 But when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites had come against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us’—although the Lord your God was your King. 13 Now therefore, here is [Saul] the king whom you have chosen, and for whom you asked; behold, the Lord has set a king over you. 14 If you will fear the Lord [with awe and profound reverence] and serve Him and listen to His voice and not rebel against His commandment, then both you and your king will follow the Lord your God [and it will be well]. 15 But if you do not listen to the Lord’s voice, but rebel against His [d]command, then the hand of the Lord will be against you [to punish you], as it was against your fathers. 16 So now, take your stand and see this great thing which the Lord will do before your eyes. 17 Is it not [the beginning of the] wheat harvest today? I will call to the Lord and He will send thunder and rain; then you will know [without any doubt], and see that your evil which you have done is great in the sight of the Lord by asking for yourselves a king.” 18 So Samuel called to the Lord [in prayer], and He sent thunder and rain that day; and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel

The people replaced the KING in their life who had lead them out of bondage to freedom, with a natural king. Here we see Samual warning them that God was aware of what their choice was, wanting a natural king to rule over them instead of the King of Kings, and telling them how if they following the KING of KINGS then they and their chosen king would be blessed, but if not trouble lies at the door.

I get the challenge of following someone you can’t ever see, but oh what joy it is to feel HIS presence and learning from the pages of HIS words. We don’t need to see Him when we can gain peace in our relationship with Him that no matter what He has our back, He is with us always, He never leaves us nor forsakes us, He is with us to the ends of the earth… what consolation we have when we are in covenant relationship with Him.

  25. 22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.
23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

I’m so grateful for the love and faithfulness of God. We were chosen by God to live in such a uncertain moment in history. Yet one thing is true and will always be true He will never forsake us. He loves us and will take care of us. We must continue to stay in the will of God in all things by prayer. In such a critical hour we must not forget to pray for one another and encourage one another with Scripture.

  26. 22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

“…for HIS great name’s sake:” not for us, not because we deserve it, but for His name. God does not take pleasure in our mistakes and sins, but He is also gracious enough to not forsake us. He simply gives these commands:

14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

But if we choose to disobey, the verses following these also show your alternate outcome.

Serve the Lord with all your heart today! He deserves it, you need it, and the lives around you need to see it.

  27. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE LORD IS GOOD

6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

One absolute the Christian believer is wise to be thankful for daily is this fact. “The LORD advanced”. When we awake to a new day “The LORD advanced” my days. We we receive answer to prayer “The LORD advanced” HIS will in my life. When we receive substance; finances, food, clothing “The LORD advanced” HIS Blessings to me. When we receive a good report from the doctor, lawyer or banker “The LORD advanced” HIS kindness of Favor on me. When we are healed “The LORD advanced” health to me.

In this unique season of forced isolation, let us focus on, testify of all the wonderful things “The LORD advanced” in our lives, like the revelations of HIS Word, the moving and nudging of HIS Spirit.

I am prayerful and thankful for each of you.

This is the day , that the Lord has made.

  30. 10 And they cried unto the Lord, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

Repenting and confessing our faults unto the lord should always be an important thing in our lives at all times because it’s through us surrendering our lives to him and letting him take control of our situations is where god can fully do his will in our lives, rather it’s delivering us out of the hands of the enemy or even delivering us from drugs or alcohol. No matter what we may deal with in our lives every single day god can deliver us from anything if we only allow him to do his will.

  31. And Samuel said to the people, “Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. Yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart. And do not turn aside after empty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty. For the LORD will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you a people for himself. 1 Samuel 12:20-22

God is so good to His people even though the Israelites told Him that He wasn’t good enough to be their leader, they wanted a king. This would obviously hurt anyone in leadership to be told you’re not good enough, and of course this did make God angry and the people were afraid and asked Samuel to pray for them so that they wouldn’t die for their sin of demanding a king. But, God being as amazing as He is graciously hears their cry, and tells them to not stop serving Him. I read this expecting something different but instead God shows Grace and Mercy. He didn’t even tell them that they had sinned so much that they were not good enough or they could no longer be a part of His plans. There is no one perfect as God, we have all failed in different ways. We have all felt at one point in our lives as though we can never make it up to God that we must leave the church in shame. God’s intentions for your life are perfect. This scripture alone reminds us just how good of a God we serve and just as God told the Israelites to continue to serve him, He desires for us to continue to serve Him and be a part of His church even when we have sinned. Help us Lord as we reach out to those that need to be reminded of You are, for you alone are, our salvation.

  32. 14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

  33. “”Don’t be afraid,” Samuel replied. “It’s true that you have done all of those evil things. But don’t turn away from the Lord. Serve him with all your heart.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

No matter how many times we mess up we should always turn back to Jesus. We maybe in a wilderness but the miraculous will always come when we turn back to Him.

“Who can separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or hard times or harm or hunger? Can nakedness or danger or war?

I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can do that. Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can do that. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:35, 38-39‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  34. I Samuel 12:23-25
Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

Psalms 34:11 Come, you children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

  35. 1 Samuel 12:29-25

    * ” Pues Jehová no desamparará a su pueblo… porque Jehová ha querido haceros pueblo suyo” Samuel quería que Israel supiera que Dios los ama. A pesar de su pecado pasado ellos podían continuar sirviendo a Jehová y aún ver sus bendiciones porque Dios los ama. Su favor hacia Israel no era motivado por el bien que ellos hicieron, estaban haciendo, o prometieron hacer. Éste era por su grande nombre, porque Jehová ha querido hacerlo. El motivo estaba en Él, no en Israel.

  36. 19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the Lord thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king. 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;

Their is a wise saying “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.” Samuel is getting too old for their foolishness and is showing them what becomes of people who turn their backs on God. When they are fearful they ask Samuel to pray for them that they not die for they recognize their evil ways now. Isn’t it funny how kids understand what they did wrong when the belt comes off? They wanted to be like all the other nations and have a king and they will have just that. Even so, Samuel warns them to follow them with all their heart. If we stay committed to our relationship with God then the things of this world can’t sway us.

  37. 1 Samuel 12:6 And Samuel said unto the people, it is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.
12:15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandments of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.
12:24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
12:25 But if ye shall do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

Samuel is reminding the people how loving God and doing what is right that they shall be blessed. But if they go against the commandments how the wrath of God can come upon them.

  38. 24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

If we consider what great things the Lord hath done for us, especially in the great work of redemption, we can neither want motive, encouragement, nor assistance in serving him.

  39. ““Now if you fear and worship the Lord and listen to his voice, and if you do not rebel against the Lord’s commands, then both you and your king will show that you recognize the Lord as your God.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, If we do what is right in The Eyes Of The Lord. We will be recognized towards God and we as The People Of The Lord should recognized The Lord Our God who is in Heaven.

  40. 14 If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:
15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

We should fear God and follow him faithfully and with obedience if we serve our idols he will humble you.

  41. 21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

The Lord gave his life for ours sins! He loves us with everything in him he will protect us no matter what, he won’t leave us. Don’t go following other false gods out there that can’t help you in situations the ones where won’t lead you in the right direction. Follow the Lord our God he made us so we can spread his word and help save and protect us. Are you willing to put your life in the Lords hands and follow the right path.

  42. 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;

21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lordto make you his people.

Sometimes we fall, we sin, we do err against the Lord. Yet He is not eager to cut you off. Yes sin separates us from God. And yes there are consequences for living a life of sin, but what he wants more is for us to restore a relationship with Him. His grace abounds, but its not a license to live wreckless and sinful lives, yet it is an expression of His great Love. He always gives the opportunity to repent. It is not God’s will that man shall perish but that they come to repentance. That they turn from their sinful life back to Him. To live separate from the world and its sin. His goodness should bring us repentance. You’ve failed, yet His love says; fear not…only obey and serve with all your heart. His love and grace is truly amazing.

  43. 20 “Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord , but serve the Lord with all your heart.

21 Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.

22 For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own.

23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.

24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

What this scripture means is that you should give your life to Christ, give him your all don’t depend on false idols to make a ways for you or grant you what you want or to give you a miracle no. Jesus is the only God there is not grader god than him no, powerful God than Him. He is the one and only Way maker, Miracle worker, Promise Keeper, light in the darkness!!
    LIVE ,GIVE ,JESUS!!!

  44. 22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lordin ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

He didn’t just make us to be like his little dolls or something he made us to be his people someone to love, to keep, to cherish, he will never fail us. He created us to love him back and to worship him and we should always whole heartedly. Remember all the things he’s done for you and dwell on them.

  45. 22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

  46. 18 So Samuel called unto the Lord; and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.

When you build a relationship with God, you can ask and it shall be given. Following the will of God is important, no matter what you come up against, God will help you through it. The God we serve can elevate you further then any man can. Trust God and allow him to lead you into glory.

  47. “For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Lord will not le try his name lose any power or fame. He will do miracles to receive all glory, honor, and praise. It glorifies him when there are miracles and that exhausts him and causes others to follow him.

  48. 6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

The life of Moses had the hand of a god from start to finish. Every time Moses would try to do it on his own bet your bottom he would Mess it up big time. The Egyptian he killed and the rock he smote. These are what Moses produced on his own BUT when God moved Moses, he could part the Red Sea and command the great plagues. It is Shem we let God do our advancing that we truly see our greatest victories.

  49. “And Samuel said unto the people, It is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt. Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lord of all the righteous acts of the Lord, which he did to you and to your fathers.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I was sharing with someone yesterday about this. A new believer brand new in th Holy Ghost ya devoted all his time to serve for the Kingdom, I tell them that because of this God will promote the individual spiritually. See man can not advance us whatever we do but God promotes us spiritually by devotion for his Kingdom. I pray each of us acquire a desire for servitude

  50. ““It was the Lord who appointed Moses and Aaron,” Samuel continued. “He brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt. Now stand here quietly before the Lord as I remind you of all the great things the Lord has done for you and your ancestors. “When the Israelites were in Egypt and cried out to the Lord, he sent Moses and Aaron to rescue them from Egypt and to bring them into this land. But the people soon forgot about the Lord their God, so he handed them over to Sisera, the commander of Hazor’s army, and also to the Philistines and to the king of Moab, who fought against them. “Then they cried to the Lord again and confessed, ‘We have sinned by turning away from the Lord and worshiping the images of Baal and Ashtoreth. But we will worship you and you alone if you will rescue us from our enemies.’ Then the Lord sent Gideon, Bedan, Jephthah, and Samuel to save you, and you lived in safety. “But when you were afraid of Nahash, the king of Ammon, you came to me and said that you wanted a king to reign over you, even though the Lord your God was already your king.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:6-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The righteous acts of the LORD: In this remembrance of God’s work from the time of the Exodus until his day Samuel focused not on the history of Israel, but on the history of the righteous acts of the LORD.

We should remember our salvation from slavery of sin and the new life God gave us and the and His promise to us all on this time. We need to be strong and stay connected with God.
We should remember when we cried out to God, confessed our sin and humbled ourselves in repentance before Him, that He delivered us. This is no time to play church, this is the time to get closer to God.

  51. 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;
21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

Our Pastor pleads with us, he urges us to not turn away from the Lord. He begs us titan away from evil. He prays for us and our souls daily.

22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

God won’t forsake us. He is pleased to call us His people. He created us for a purpose.

23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lordin ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

Our Pastor is out in our lives to teach us the good and the bad!! Why would we continue to struggle? Why do we turn a blind eye or a deaf ear as though we don’t hear him constantly reaching for our souls?? If our Pastor is constantly reaching and we know God will not forsake us then why are we so stubborn sometimes?? Why would we not give God our all??

  52. Samuel Speaks to the People
Samuel mentions to the people of Israel he is old and feeble. He is stepping down from the role that he once held. He established a king over Israel and the people are to look towards the king for leadership. Samuel then asks the people of Israel if he has ever done anything egregiously wrong to them and if they have a witness who can prove this wrongdoing.

    Has Samuel Committed Wrongdoings?
The people respond they have no proof that Samuel has committed wrongdoing and no one claims that he has. Samuel then notes he will point out all the acts the Lord has done on behalf of the people. He starts by mentioning how Moses and Aaron aided them in escaping the tyranny of Egypt.

    God and His People
Samuel does point out the relationship between the Lord and the people of Israel was sometimes strained. When the Lord felt His people let Him down after he freed them from bondage, He let them fall to their enemies. As soon as His followers repented their ways, the Lord brought them once again to freedom.

    Insulting to God
Samuel then mentions that when the people asked for a king, they were insulting the Lord for it is the Lord who is their true king. Rain and thunder came from the sky and the people were afraid. They begged Samuel and the Lord not to be angry with them.

Samuel told them to simply serve the Lord with all their heart. In doing so, the Lord would forgive their transgressions and protect them and their king. To fail to do so means all will perish.
