Psalm 56

Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

  1. 10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

You keep the promises You make
There isn’t one that is delayed
So I will not lose heart, here, I will lift my arms
And start to sing into the night
My praise will call the sun to rise
Declare the battle won, declare that it is done

When I walk through the waters, I won’t be overcome
When I go through the rivers, I will not be drowned
My God will make a way, so I am not afraid
When I am in the fire, I will not feel the flame
I’ll stand before the giant, declaring victory
My God will make a way, so I am not afraid
Before me, behind me, always beside me
No shadow, no valley, where You won’t find me
    No, I am not afraid
Before me, behind me, always beside me
No shadow, no valley, where You won’t find me
No, I am not afraid…. I am not afraid!

As I was waiting in line at the store waiting to check in “social distancing” fashion…. I saw so many people with faces that ranged from fear all the way to angry faces. I thought to myself, how in the world are people that do not know God making in it this time that we are facing. Yes, things around us are growing more and more uncertain but I have this calming reassurance that no matter what is taking place if we will keep God as the center of our daily lives and let our lights shine, everything is going to be okay. #tooblessedtobestressed #liveJesus #giveJesus

  2. Assurance of God’s Protection
Psalm 56:9-11 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid of what man can do unto me.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God before us, who can be against us?

God is Good All the Time!

  3. “In God have I put my trust and confident reliance; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:11AMP‬‬
    ‭‭
If god be for us who can be against us. No matter what may come our way we have no reason to fear because our god will make a way. Just like an infant trusts their mother to provide milk and nourishment for them is how we should be with god. Infants are attached to their mother because they know she is the one that will provide what they need. We need to be like this with god. God has it all. He has all the nourishment that we need in this walk. All we have to do it put our trust in him always and be confident.

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  4. 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

    continuous Praise…
It doesn’t take long to find something to be thankful for when you’re filled with the Spirit of the living God. I was privileged to witness to a man today i could tell he had struggled for quite a time with the similar things i had struggled with. I wasn’t worried about no sickness in fact I knew if i just started witnessing and preaching to him hardcore the Lord was gonna protect me. So i went on and he told me several things about what he battled with and several things that he cried unto God for but they were never answered. He then shared with me what he believed, and I’m not gonna lie it was pretty far out there but I too have said some pretty crazy things when i was in a similar state so i knew where he was coming from. If it came down to it i believe he would cry unto the most high God Jesus. I believe because thats what i did. After he left and the faith i had was loosed and the Word of God was preached i was fully convinced that a seed had been sewn. I can praise God because the man i see walking on the street broken and beat down from himself is who i once was and God seen a man that he could use for his goodness and for his kingdom to share his word and preach his Gospel I;m thankful and grateful to be apart of his kingdom.

Today i ask you to pray for this man his name is TC McKay, i want you to pray that Word of God keeps coming back to him and that the Word of God drives the many legions inside of him OUT. I pray the chains of bondage are broke from him today and the spirit of addiction has to flee at the mention of JESUS CHRIST. I pray that whatever he goes hard for right now in his life that he turns it around and goes hard for living for JESUS!

  5. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
    Psalms 56:11 KJV

One thing that I have learned the past couple of months is that I have a choice. There is door to my heart that I can either allow it to be open or closed. The choice lies within me. The words of death, pain, sorrow, and brokenness have been spoken against me. To destroy my witness as a Christian and my testimony as a child of the most high GOD! When the enemy comes your way with lies, fear, anxiety, and depression . Remember that you hold the power(key) to the door of your heart. But as for me I choose to keep that door shut, putting everything in the hands of GOD.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
    Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 AMP

…Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
    2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV

    He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
    Psalms 91:1‭-‬2‭, ‬4‭-‬5 KJV

  6. 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

I put my trust in You Jesus. I will not be afraid.

  7. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.

Though David was fearful for his life and driven away from the comfort of his surroundings, he would not complain against God. Even though he felt like his enemies would completely destroy him and he would never be at ease, he never lifted a complaint against God. As the word would say he never hung his harp upon the willow. He wanted to offer praises unto God even if he meditates upon the praise unto the Lord.

Sometimes we forget that God already knows our heart and we have a tendency to speak ill will for those that may come against us. We have to remember that if God is for us then who can be against us. No weapon formed against you or the church will ever prosper. We have to faith in the promise of God. It’s time to not be scared and take back what the enemy stole from us. We shall recover it all. We shall recover our peace, our love, and most of all our joy. For the Lord is joy unspeakable and full of glory. Let’s go and get the promise of GOD.

  8. 9. When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

There’s a reason he didn’t say my enemies might turn back, or this I think…he was confident because God had already proved Himself faithful to him. Since God never changes, the same goes for us – when we cry unto Him, our enemies SHALL turn back: this we KNOW, and with this knowledge, we will be confident.

    The fear is real,
    But it won’t break me.
God will not fail me nor forsake me.
    I’ll keep coming.
    I’ll step to the battle
    Like It’s already won,
Like I got the enemy on the run,
I speak and believe like It’s already done.
In this I will be confident

  9. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Remember that we are on a temporary Earth for a short time. People are Going to talk about us we’re going to have enemies everything’s are going to be hard at times, it’s a fact of the life we chose. Paul tells us the Epistles that he wishes we could live peaceably among men. It seems ideal for us to be able to go about our lives without enemies or without people talking about us but that is generally not the case because we’re going to have trials and adversity. If we keep our focus on what is eternal and where our mind is meditated on at all times then we will worry less on what happens to us

  10. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Our God knows us and as long as we trust in Him above All nothing will hurt us.

8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
He knows our every year. Oh how many time have I cried in silence thinking no body knows, but my God takes everyone of those tears as silent prayers and puts them in a bottles and writes those prayers in His book.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Be concern about your soul, your spirit, flesh? Why bother about the flesh??? It will rot anyway! Take care of your soul, your spirit that will be reunited with Christ Jesus, for it be careful, be righteous so when the Bridegroom come you will not be caught without oil.

Rev 7:17 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Once our Lamb returns for us He will wipe your every tear, His Love is that tender, His Love is that Great No one loves us like Christ Jesus Loves Us!!! Thank you Jesus for to live in you is all we need!!!

  11. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

In God I will praise His Word
In God I have put my trust
    I will not fear

There’s three parts to this verse. Praise to God opens us up to assistance from angels that we did not have before.

Do not lose heart at the sight of this vast multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s. Tomorrow go out to meet them, and the Lord will be with you. They sang: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his mercy endures forever.” And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon… destroying them utterly. (2 Chron 20:15-16, 21-23)

These are absolutes. I will. I have. I will.
In God I HAVE PUT my trust. What happened when we fully trust God?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7)

I sought the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:31–34)

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. (Psalm 56:3)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper. (Psalm 118:6–7)

Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” (Revelation 1:17)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)

I WILL NOT fear!! We are released from the to things that bind us when we give everything to God and enter into a trusting relationship with Him.

  12. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    EVIDENCE

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Intimidation and fear are satans most effective credentials. Through fear:

    FAITH is weakened
    PRAISE is silenced
    HOPE is destroyed
    LOVE is questioned
    FAITHFULNESS is broken
    VICTORY is surrendered

As I meditate on this verse this morning it drew me deeper to my core belief in JESUS, HIS Word and HIS Kingdom. At The POFW we have invested 2 years in studying and preparing for this day. Thy Kingdom Come and FIRST The Kingdom for over 24 months was our Focus of FAITH.

I find myself in this question:

Have I put my Trust in GOD?

My defensive man shouts yes, but my soul is not so confident. If my Trust is in GOD how do I demonstrate it? Where is the EVIDENCE? Life has most definitely been different these past 4 weeks. But is there any EVIDNECE that I have put my TRUST in GOD?

There are many questions to which I do not know the answer. The how, the why and the when may never be answered in some of life’s events and this current situation may be one of them.

    BUT.

I choose today to give JESUS my BEST Praise. I pray that my PRAISE in the midst of chaos and confusion is the portion that GOD accepts as EVIDENCE that my Trust is in JESUS.

    Here is my approach:

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

If you are afraid today, here is HOPE:

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Twice in this chapter the Psalmist stated “I will praise his WORD”.

    Prayer + WORD = Praise

    Lets GO!

    We were created to PRAISE!

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive

  13. Verses 12-13 NLT “I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.” We too must fulfill our vows that we have made to our God, our families and our church. We can offer a sacrifice of thanks, a praise and give of ourselves for the work of His kingdom. Let us walk in the light of His glory today as we LIVE-GIVE JESUS and share this Good News!

Jesus, the Light of the World
John 8:12 NLT “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

  14. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

So many of us today battle the enemy daily rather it be temptations or even addiction we all struggle, but there is someone that we can put our trust in and know that no matter the battle or temptations that come our way we have someone who will hold our hand through it and walk with us. Battles and struggles of life will always come and go Jesus will be remain.

  15. Psalms 56
    New Living Translation
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Tears are cried for many reasons. God knows and understands every detail of our life. The times of deep wounds and the times of jubilee. In His word there was seasons of tears . Even Jesus Christ wept over His people. The beginning of this year I made a promise to God that when I began to weep over personal pain that I would use it for His kingdom to turn my thoughts to others, the broken , the lost , the backslidden. Truth is there are still moments when my tears are from a heartache yet I can truthfully say since my promise to God He has brought healing to my heart and strength to truly weep for the souls of others. Oh yes He cares and His word says He knows and holds each tear. I pray that as I do my best to live Jesus that I can truly give Jesus. I pray that my focus would not be on self but this dying world where there are some longing to know who God is. An old song Tears Are A Language God Understands. Oh how our Savior cares to even bottle up each tear we have shed . He does care ….

Psalm 126:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

  16. 8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.

Yes, God knows all about your sorrows, he knows your pain, he knows daily your struggles, your wants, your needs. He collects them all, now he’s waiting on you to Ask him for help, your obedience, your prayers, your worship and you shall receive what you ask for. Each of us, should collect in our own bottle, the blessings, the healings, the joy, the peace, the glory that God has given us. I bet the Bottle of Blessings will out weigh the bottle of sorrows.

Message Version–Psalm 62:7-8 My help and glory are in God—granite-strength and safe-harbor-God. So trust him absolutely, people; lay your lives on the line for him. God is a safe place to be.

  17. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side! I praise God for what he has promised; yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
    Psalms 56:9‭-‬11 NLT

All we have to do is call on His name and praise Him for what He’s done! God is so good!!

  18. Ps.56: 9-10 [ Then shall my enemies turn back in the day that I cry out; this I know, for God is for me.
[10] In God , Whose word I praise, in the Lord, Whose word I praise.
I choose to on my best praise, and glorified him. And thank in advanced for everything he has done.
I will put my trust him at all times.I love to worship him and him glory and honer.
Romans 8: 31[ amp] What then shall we say to [ all] this? If God is for us, who [ can be] against us?
[ Who can ne our foe, if God is on our side?]
I am not afraid! Praying in the Holy Ghost!

  19. God is our comfort, assurance, doctor and banker. He supplies all our needs. He is our go to, our mom and dad. I love him with all my heart and soul! How great is our God.

  20. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Psa 56:12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
Psa 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

The Lord has made a vow with us and he will not break this covenant with us. We are his people and he has given us his name. Verse :13 declares that the Lord has delivered us from death but David asks the Lord to also deliver us from falling. A saved man can still fall, but we need to continue to seek God and ask for help that He would help us through this dangerous world.

  21. 11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Trust – 1.firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

When we “trust” the Lord, we must trust His everything. He does allows us to go through test, but they are for our perfecting. Gold is not gold until it has gone through the fire. The fire of testing is to purify us, purge us from things that would hinder us, and bring the good to the top.

How can we be angry at a God who we trust our salvation to? If we believe that He died for us and if we are spirit filled and water baptized, and walk in truth we will live eternally with Him, how can we not trust that He will carry us through any thing that may come our way?

Trust in You – Lauren Daigle

Letting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet
    Every moment of my wandering
    Never changes what You see
I try to win this war
I confess, my hands are weary, I need Your rest
Mighty warrior, king of the fight
No matter what I face You’re by my side

When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You

Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings
There’s not a day ahead You have not seen
So let all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less

When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
    I will trust in You

You are my strength and comfort
    You are my steady hand
    You are my firm foudation
The rock on which I stand
    Your ways are always higher
    Your plans are always good
    There’s not a place where I’ll go
    You’ve not already stood

When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You

  22. For God is for me

    Leviticus 26:8 KJV
[8] And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

    Psalm 56:11 KJV
[11] In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

    Psalm 56:13 KJV
[13] For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

  23. In this chapter what came to my mind was that God is the one and only that can do anything!! He is above and beyond amazing!! We should praise him everyday, cause he is the one and only!!!

  24. 10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me

We don’t fight against man today. One day the church may truly be persecuted and then we may be as David, running from those evil people. BUT, as we go we, we take Jesus with us. No matter what we are up against, man or natural disaster, our trust must be in him. We must be a witness to all – no matter the situations of life. Our light is to shine before all men and we must be ready to give them the reason of our hope in Jesus.

  25. If we are afraid we just have to trust in god to help us and if we do we will win every battle in jesus name if we give god our trust he will love and help us win

  26. 56:9 when I car y to thee, then shall my enemies turn back
This I know, for God is forme.
    —-
    We’d better believe it!
No prayer meeting is in vain ,no declaration of faith is in vain
Every time we speak loud , and called upon the Lord.
Something happens( in the atmosphere) angels rush straight down to earth to help us.
This I know, the Psalmist said: that the Lord is for me.
God is good. He has been so good to me.

  27. “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
The young man who killed the lion and the bear, who killed Goliath, and was a successful young captain in Israel’s army did not deny the presence of fear. There were times when he was afraid. Yet he knew what to do with that fear; to boldly proclaim His trust in God despite the fear. I want to always have faith and not fear. Remember during this time we can have faith and not fear because Jesus is always with us.

  28. 13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

By delivering us of sin, God has delivered us from the hands of death.

We, by nature are dead in sin. But if we surrender our lives to God, we are made spiritually alive!

But He doesn’t stop there! We are weak, our way is slippery, many stumbling-blocks are in it, but if we commit ourselves to Him, He will help keep our feet from falling.

  29. Psalm 56:4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
56:10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
56:11 In God I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

David was showing here how he knew not to trust man and was upset with how he had been treated. He showed how he loved and trusted in the Lord. He knew not to have fear. We know fear is from the enemy. Trust in God and the outcome will be great!

  30. “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me” (Psalm 42:7)

Psalm 42 expresses a cry from a person during a time of trouble a time of separation from also a physical state and location. Our human nature of urgency and pain that comes with life can give us this that same desperation quite a bit but it is times like now that we should hang onto the presence of God and that of being within the sanctuary.

David in this particular time seems to have been outside of Jerusalem and not able to go back. He mentions how he “used to go to the house of God . . . with shouts of joy” (verse 4), he speaks as if he is east of the Jordan River (verse 6), and he hears the taunting of an enemy (verse 10).
So most likely David was in a situation where he and others had been exiled or cut off from the tabernacle the church much like many are now. His urgency to be in the presence of God ha don’t stopped simply because he had been cast out or cut off. Even while he heard the voices of doubt and disbelief he still lamented to needing physically to be back in Jerusalem.

In the verses leading up to the statement that “deep calls to deep,” the songwriter says he has been thirsting for the presence of God like a deer panting for streams of water (Psalm 42:1). The exiles were longing for their Savior in tears while their enemies taunted them. Cut off from Jerusalem, David and his crew were reminiscing over the spirit and over the ability to be within the house of God, David attempts to encourage himself and others with him in the Lord and place his hope and faith in God. David is teetering between confidence that he would soon be able to praise the Lord as he had in the past, and despair over his present situation.

The language of Psalm 42 is poetic and metaphorical. “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me” (Psalm 42:7, NKJV). Though we may not all be able to always describe our distress figuratively, I am certain we can relate – it’s as if waves and breakers are sweeping over him. Trouble was surging, with one overwhelming swell coming after another. The “deep” trials he faced kept coming, wave-like—deep after deep.

In this time setting and reference the term “deep” literally referenced the depths of the sea which was unknown to many in this moment David knew the way he felt was such a deep longing that only could be corrected by a deep God.

  31. 9 Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. 10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise–11 in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? 12 I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you. 13 For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

When we commit our lives to Jesus, we have no choice but to serve him.
We can always trust God! What he says in His word is always true. He will keep His promises to reward and help those who are faithful to him. He will also keep His word to condemn those who rebel against Him and His word. Jesus is our Savior and will forgive our sins when we humbly accept His pardon in obedience to His gospel. He will then walk with us every step of the way. Thank you for the promise that you will hear me when I call to you and you will answer my prayers.

  32. “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As I was praying this morning, I had a quick thought and I said “Oh God I don’t want that to happen to me”. Afterwards I read today’s chapter and resonated with David’s words “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me”. This let me two things. One, God will always have a word for us to apply to our life! Two, these verses were yet another example that God truly can do anything!

I thank God for being an on time God, for giving us understanding of His word. I pray we take this verse to heart, singing louder, jumping higher, and worshipping deeper than before!

  33. 10 In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord , whose word I praise—

11 In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?

    Psalms 56:10‭-‬11 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/psa.56.10-11.NIV

Exactly! What can man do you me? Nothing I shall not be afraid of man for God has me protected his voice is my shield. For example everything that is going on today this virus that people are all talking about..don’t be afraid of this virus because after all of this is over there is something much much greater that He has stored for His people!!!

  34. Psalms 56:3-4 & 9-10
    3) What time I am afraid; I will trust in thee.
    4) In God I will praise his word,…

    9) When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
    10) In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his Word.

    “This I Know”
What did David know? That when he was afraid, he would Trust in God. When he cried unto God, his enemies would turn back. He knew God was for him.
How did David know all this? Because it was God’s Word.

When we “EAT THIS BOOK,” we too can know that when we are afraid, we can Trust in God. When we cry unto God, our enemies will turn back. We can know that God is with us. Because it’s God’s Word.

  35. 10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

Why should we be afraid of our enemies? For the Lord is our protection his word and his voice is my protection. The Lord has saved us from our sins and helped us defeat our enemies so there’s no reason to be afraid. Put your faith and trust to the Lord for he is always protecting us, praise him day and night. During these hard times there is no need to fear we need to believe that the Lord will heal our nation!

  36. “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!”(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:8-9NLT)

David encourages us today by reminding us that God is still always caring for us and that he’s always giving ear to our prayers and requests. David also mentions to us that we aren’t alone in this untoward world all we have to do is call on the only name that reigns above everything, JESUS!!!

  37. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

    Eat this book
The word of God is true. God is always faithful to us and always by our side. He is worthy of praise

  38. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!
    Psalms 56:3‭-‬4‭, ‬9 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.56.3-9.NLT

Great question why should I be afraid if I trust in the Lord
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
    Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/jer.17.7.NLT
I don’t have to fear because I trusted in the Lord he’s my Rock and my Strong tower his steadfast nothing in this world I shall fear
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
    Romans 8:31 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.8.31.KJV

  39. 13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Yes! When we walk by spirit we are delivered every step. Amen thank you Jesus!

  40. I Love To Worship The Lord
    Fear
1 David felt fear 2 turned to God to express trust
3 recalled Gods self revelation in Scripture
4 determined not to expect evil because God was with him
If we fill fear but when . Yet when fear comes it need not victimize us. See fear as a fresh opportunity to trust God.

  41. “O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long. I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

On earth David was greatly outnumbered, so he looked for help from the God who is enthroned above. David knew the strategic value of high ground in battle; it made sense for him to look for help from the Most High.

We need to cried out to God, knowing that with He’s divine help could rescue us from any threat. We need to appealed to the mercy of God, not relying on what we may or may not deserve.

  42. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
    Psalms 56:3‭-‬4 NLT

Fear can hinder and make us doubt our core beliefs. It is a weapon the enemy uses to weaken us and make us fall but the key is to Trust in His Word. When we Trust in His Word it will always point us to Praise. Praise is what we have to fight back when the enemy attacks.

  43. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

David’s life is an example of not being afraid and trusting in the Lord. The circumstances that he was going through. In where death and destruction was roaming constantly. He did not lose his trust in the Lord. Contrary David was constantly seeking the Lord for guidance and deliverance him from his enemies. In result, David was favored and protected. We must remember that this is not our permanent home, let us not be afraid. Instead trust the Lord and He will give us favor in all we do. God puts our enemies under our feet! What a great God we serve!

  44. “My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, when my enemies retreat, I know that God will fight for me for I should fear not for this is God’s Battle not mine and He will get me through this so I should have faith.

  45. “For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:13‬ ‭NLT

Your name God is alive that the shadow cannot deny You. Your name God is above all other names and there is none like You. You deliver me from all the works of the evil and Your word rescues me from falling into the lies of the enemies. And now I can rejoice because I’m walking in the Lord’s presence and I’m living in light now.

  46. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

When we are afraid we need to trust Him. Do not give in to people who want to you to stay quiet for God is with you.

  47. 13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Regardless of what mn can do to us in this earth we Are to hold fast to Jesus! The suffering if this present world cannot compare to what will be ones eternity that would rather please man than God. He is able to keep us even when others seek to destroy us. I would rather put my trust in God!

  48. 11In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

When God is on your side there is nothing to fear. He will lead and guide you where you must go. I’m thankful for a God who can forgive sins and give you strength. Our God is still the one true living God.

  49. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

It seems like sometimes the whole world is against us from every angle, but we just need to remember who holds our future, we don’t need to take time to worry what man can do to us. We need to keep our heads up and keep pushing for the prize, trusting in the master all the way.

  50. In such a time as this

4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

This is not time to be afraid but know where to put your trust. My trust is in Jesus. Now we should not be ignorant of what is happening aground us but also not ignorant of Gods reign. Jesus is above all this. By his stripes we were healed, it’s already done. I’m going to praise him through the storm and trust in him for all my answers.

  51. “For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’m thankful for God’s grace and mercy. I honestly don’t know where I’d be if it had not been for the Lord. He has rescued me from darkness. I love His Word! I love Truth! I love the Light!

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.””
    ‭‭John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  52. 0 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
If God be for us who can be against. No man can destroy you. You sin can bind you no enemy can kill you because God is greater then it all

  53. 0 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
If God be for us who can be against. No man can destroy you. You sin can bind you no enemy can kill you because God is greater then it all

  54. 10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

There comes a point in a person’s life that he or she may find himself in the midst of the unknown, chaos or a storm. This reminds me of a most sincere and intimate prayer in the middle of the night. In the middle of it all. Sometimes the pain is just deep, and the uncertainty so heart crushing that you cannot utter a prayer, or articulate the right words to ask of him. Yet He knows your praise. He knows your cry. And He knows you worship. A worship in the middle of it all, in the middle of the night can be more power than the mightiest of prayers while you cannot really express you can exalt the one than Can.

  55. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

It is so easy to say, I will praise God, I will praise God’s word, and I put all of my trust in Him. However, it is not always emery’s to say that I don’t fear what people can do to me. In thought it’s something we want to say but not always easy to actually mean and go through with.

5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

    wrest
    /rest/. verb
    1. forcibly pull (something) from a person’s grasp.

Everyday they PULL forcibly at our words, because their thoughts are evil against us. This is why it makes it to where it is not always easy to say I will not fear the flesh’s next other people.. This is why we need to realize from where our strength comes from, where our help comes from.

  56. 10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

“I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” My trust is in the Lord.
