Acts 26

Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.

12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

30 And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:

31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

  2. Acts 26

1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

3 Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

    4 My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

  3. So in Acts Chapter 26 1-6 it’s talking about how Agrippa Thou Permitted to Speak to Paul then King Agrippa said make yourself happy before touching the things I am accused of the Jews then Especially I know in all customs which are among the Jews and I beseech patiently then my manner of life from my time as a child was first owned at Jerusalem then from the Beginning our religion would testify then I stand and judge the promise of god

  4. Acts 26:1-6
“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself: I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews: Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently. My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews; Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers”

What stands out to me so boldly is that through at the Paul had been through he still stood before the courts and stated “he thought himself HAPPY” …. WOW if we started everyday with that simple thought, how would it impact our lives!!!!

    Job 5:17
“Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty”

    Proverbs 3:13
“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding.”

    Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no vision, the people perish:
but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

    Psalm 135:1-3
    “Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD;
praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.
    Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, Praise the LORD;
for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.“

  5. Paul gave his testimony to people . Some believed some didn’t believe him and some did and some thought he was crazy but no Matter what his goal was to giving the gospel . We might be in Paul’s situation (not as bad maybe) but we must spread the Gospel . We must understand that only JESUS is the way . And we should teach others that while loving them

  6. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

Agrippa told Paul that he was almost persuaded to be a Christian. Many things that the world has to offer us to not follow Jesus, that will cause many to die and go to hell. Because of the peer pressure of the world many people we will witness to will almost buy in to what we are preaching because the truth can not and will not be denied. But because of the pressure they will not fully receive the word. Agrippa even went on to say that Paul was not justified to be held in bonds and could go free, but had made petition to be judged by Caesar.

The toughest thing that any born again child of God will face is to either continue steadfast in the gospel of Jesus or they will be persuaded to deny the truth and miss the glory of God. We have to take a stand as a willing vessel to receive the anointing of God and hold to the truth no matter what comes against us that causes pressure. The world didn’t give us Jesus and they can not take him away from us. But if like the scripture states, if we hide the word of God in our heart that we may not sin against him, the world can not take what’s in the heart of the believer. They may be able to take the book of god and destroy the physical material but they can not take away what is inside of you. Even if they injure your body unto death, they can not destroy the word.

We have to be prepared to be in survival mode spiritually so that we may endure to the end. Living Jesus is the greatest honor to the king of kings and Lord of Lords. That is the only way to give Jesus in this last day that we are living in.

  7. And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers: Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
    Acts 26:6‭-‬11‭, ‬21‭-‬22 KJV
Paul told his testimony the call him crazy there is going to be people that believe your testimony and receive it and take it at heart and there will people who rejected this didn’t stop Paul every opportunity Paul he spoke about his testimony and the Gospel of Jesus Christ

One thing that I want to point out is God sent Paul to preach to the Gentiles
Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
    Acts 26:17‭-‬18 KJV
In fact early in the book of Acts we read about some of them getting baptized my point is sometimes God will place you in a uncomfortable situation Paul preach and teach to the same people he prosecuted against he also preach and teach to the gentiles no one is unworthy to hear the word God show us that anyone can be baptized and receive the holy ghost

  8. This chapter is captioned “I Couldn’t Just Walk Away” in the Message version. The chapter has Paul retelling his story to King Agrippa. Paul wasn’t afraid of what they might do to him and he knew he couldn’t keep quite; but, rather had to speak up. Paul could have pleaded the fifth; but, he didn’t because that was not what his mission was as we read verses 19-20 MSG “What could I do, King Agrippa? I couldn’t just walk away from a vision like that! I became an obedient believer on the spot. I started preaching this life-change—this radical turn to God and everything it meant in everyday life—right there in Damascus, went on to Jerusalem and the surrounding countryside, and from there to the whole world.” Paul knew that the king heard what he was saying as the king responded in verse 28 MSG “But Agrippa did answer: “Keep this up much longer and you’ll make a Christian out of me!” We too cannot keep quiet and at times, we will have to stand up and face issues head on in order to stop confusion and/or division. Just like back then, there will be naysayers and accusers; but, we cannot keep quiet and let not even one be lost. Another word for compassion is concern. I would always tell my girls that if we didn’t care we wouldn’t speak up and tell them what was wrong with this or that; but, we do care and that is why we voice our concerns. So let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS with compassion!

  9. “Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian.” And Paul said, “I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:28-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/114/act.26.28-29.nkjv

No matter what the circumstances are, there is always an opportunity to witness.

  10. 8. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

…And why should we still today have a hard time believing that He will raise the dead, or open blinded eyes, or deaf ears, or heal the sick? He has been doing it all these many years, so it’s time that our faith rises to the level of expectation instead of astonishment.

  11. 28Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?”f

We all accepted Jesus quickly, but growing in Jesus takes time. Everyone would like to be mature but that doesn’t happen. We all grow stronger in our ways by practicing, training and studying.

  12. Acts 26:17-18
    17) Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto to whom now I send thee,
    18) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Ephesians 4:18 says, “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:”

Today, PRAY that people’s blind eyes, blind minds, blind hearts will be opened, and that they will see and receive the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. PRAY that people will turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan unto God. PRAY that people will come to an altar of Repentance and receive forgiveness of sins, be Baptized in the name of JESUS for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, so that they may receive inheritance among us who are sanctified by faith in HIM.

    Let’s GO Have Church!!

  13. Live Jesus Give Jesus, Paul did just this. If you are out doing outreach and walking up to a stranger you have never seen before one always runs the risk of getting shut down in the first few sentences. We as Jesus givers must keep on to the task as Paul did. He got into some uncomfortable situations but he pressed on. And at the last of today’s reading he was victorous. God takes care of his people!

  14. 31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

Something interesting about Paul’s ministry what is how he defended himself in court in front of the judge, not because he was afraid of persecution but because he took every opportunity to testify and promote the gospel. He had no qualms with dying for the gospel, obviously, but he knew that it was not right to be sent to death just for sharing the gospel with other people. Paul was not ashamed of the word of God and the revelation of Jesus Christ but he also stood his ground and knew what he was supposed to be doing in the kingdom of God. As Christians, just because someone comes against us does not mean that we are automatically supposed to lay down and let people walk all over us and consider that persecution rather we are allowed to stand boldly and teach the word of God with love and conviction in the same manner that Paul did

  15. Paul begins by thinking positive. He thinks himself HAPPY!!! No matter the circumstances God is with us and given the opportunity to speak for himself makes Paul Happy. Why?? Because no one can defend him like he can. No one can give your testimony like you can!!!!! His testimony is so strong that king Agripa assures him that he was almost converted to Christianity!!! There will be a day when our testimony will be the difference between life and death. Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Sometimes your living testimony is all the Christ people will see. Live CHRIST Give CHRIST!!!!

  16. “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul may have been bound but he still found a way to be a witness! We may be in quarantine/ social distancing, call it what you will, but we can still find ways to be a witness, sow a seed, and tell someone about Jesus.

I thank God He is a God who knows no bounds, no limits, and has no rival or equal. I pray we step out of our comfort zone today and proclaim the name of Jesus!

  17. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE HAPPY

2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

The word HAPPY leaped off the page to me today. To be honest, the old hymn “Everybody Will Be Happy Over There” was the first thought. It is psalms like this that I was raised on spiritually. I would imagine in my mind what that day will be. I remember running the aisles of that small sanctuary as fast as I could run from excitement over the thought of that happiness. I was young and fast back then, I still run fast on the inside when I think myself happy over eternity with JESUS.

We live in a time where humility, self denial and repentance are considered words of control, weakness and burdensome. Why? EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE HAPPY.

Some deceptive thought has been promoted in attempt to convince society and even the church that you can only be HAPPY when you are in control. This does not even hint at the TRUTH. Here is Paul a prisoner facing a death sentence for believing JESUS is GOD. Yet, he finds himself HAPPY at the opportunity to share his story again. The opportunity to talk about JESUS makes him HAPPY.

What makes you HAPPY? Having your way, controlling entertainment, not being accountable for actions or attitudes.

I pray a REVIVAL of, I THINK MYSELF HAPPY will sweep the CHURCH and that the people of the Name of JESUS will THINK to be HAPPY and not sad, depressed or defeated. It is TIME for the church to RISE and SHINE to GIVE GOD GLORY.

EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE HAPPY but too many are depending on something or someone else to “make” them HAPPY. You are in control of that.

    THINK YOURSELF HAPPY!

    iReptent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  18. Thank you Jesus for today , another day to give Glory and honor to God

Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes. He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
    Isaiah 40:10‭-‬11 NLT

  19. Just really cool to go back and remember Pastor preaching on “incredible” we know who God is and all is works are BELIEVABLE!

8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

The power of Paul’s Testimony! Paul in his hearing had a chance to speak for himself and he told the king about the moment Jesus Confronted him and turned Saul into Paul! The reason it’s so important to tell our testimony is because it can cause chains to break and walls to fall like in Paul’s life! By telling his Testimony he gained favor in the King.

““In this connection I journeyed to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.”
    ‭‭

  20. Acts 26:27 [ amp] King Agrippa , do you believe the prophets? [ Do you give credence to God’s messengers and their words? ] I perceive and know that you do believe.
I will tell you how God deliever me from alcohol, How God heal my head and shoulders from two steel beams that fell from the ceiling in Walmart. God heal my Brown recluse Spider bite! He has heals so many things in my life , I can’t thank him enough . Stand still and watch the salvation of Lord work ! Today is deliverance! We must be saved.
    Live Jesus , Give Jesus.

  21. Then Agrippa said to Paul, “In a short time [and with so little effort] you [almost] persuade me to become a Christian.” And Paul replied, “Whether in a short time or long, I wish to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become such as I am, except for these chains.”
    Acts 26:28‭-‬29 AMP
    https://bible.com/bible/1588/act.26.28-29.AMP

We can do and say everything that God has put on our hearts to help reach people but in the end it is their decision. We are only responsible for getting the message out and how we treat those people, not how they respond.

  22. Acts 26
28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?”(AX)

29 Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”(AY)

With God all things are possible. Paul said he thanked himself happy. He had just been given another opportunity to witness. Short or long time to speak to someone . God’s word is powerful. We must be ready to speak at the opportunity presented to us. With the authority of Jesus Christ . Acts 1:8 Power …..
Now is the time to Live Jesus so we may Give Jesus.

  23. ““Who are you?” I asked. Then the Lord answered, “I am Jesus! I am the one you are so cruel to. Now stand up. I have appeared to you, because I have chosen you to be my servant. You are to tell others what you have learned about me and what I will show you later.” The Lord also said, “I will protect you from the Jews and from the Gentiles that I am sending you to. I want you to open their eyes, so they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God’s holy people.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:15-18‬ ‭CEV‬‬

Chosen by Christ to deliver the gospel!! To the rich, the poor, the addict, the adulterous…etc. On this journey of life I must not keep quiet. Take advantage of the opportunity the LORD gives to minister. This is the plan the Lord has chosen for us. Let us get back to basic of our life. To bring salvation to the lost. This is the only hope we have for all humanity ❤️

  24. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Paul had to share his story so that King Agrippa could “almost” be persuaded. See it’s not up to us to make the decision for people, it’s up to do us to our part – tell the testimony. What they do with it is between them and Jesus.

Both will have to answer to God – them with what they did with what they heard and us, what we did with what God gave us and did for us.

We must do our part. Some plant, some water, but it is God who gives the increase. So plant the seed everywhere you go. Don’t be intimidated regardless of their stature in life. Like the sower, some seed will fall on rocky soil, some amongst the thistles and briars, some seed will be blown away with the winds of doctrine, but there is some seed that will take roots. That is the seed we are looking for!

  25. “Because of this some Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me. But I have had help from God to this day, and I stand [before people] testifying to small and great alike, stating nothing except what the Prophets and Moses said would come to pass—

and after they had gone out, they began saying to one another, “This man is not doing anything worthy of death or [even] of imprisonment.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:21-22, 31‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Paul was given instruction by god and he followed that instruction. Though he may have went through almost being killed he still never lost his faith and continued doing the will of god. We see in the end that god shows up on time. Regardless of how it may seem right now just keep the faith and continue to follow the instructions of god. God will show up right in time!

“Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  26. 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest

When I think of the anointing on Paul as he testified, it’s hard to imagine that he didn’t convert those listening. No doubt his testimony affected the listeners but in their positions of power and authority, the king and governor were not converted. We must humble ourselves and allow God to speak into our lives! Paul was happy to get to testify and when we labor for the kingdom, it brings true happiness and joy.

  27. 18. To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them , which are sanctified by faith that is in me. 19. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not obedient unto the heavenly vision: 20. But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 21. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

  28. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

Notice what Paul says here in verse:22. He Gives God the glory and testifies that he obtained “help of God”. If you remember, it was the Chief Captain who “by great violence” helped Paul escape sudden death. Paul surely understood that God had used this man of great authority to act in his own behalf.

  29. 8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

I remember when Pastor taught on the word incredible one night – I had never realized it’s true meaning. Let’s never discredit God for the awesome wonders He does! God is so good, He can do ALL things!

  30. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The Living Bible
    vs-24
Suddenly Festus shouted Paul you are insane. Your long studying has broken your mind.
    Festus reaction
Ever the pragmatic Roman Festus was amazed at the idea of a resurrection. He believed Paul had become so engrossed in Jewish studies that he had lost his grip on reality. How like modern scientific thinkers who cannot imagine a spiritual reality beyond the universe.

  31. 6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

No matter how rough life gets we will always have the promise of god walking with us through the storms and battles of life, and we should never doubt him or the promises he gives us because he always keeps his promises just like his word says.

  32. “And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are various times throughout our lives we have had to stand and be judged.

By peers, parents, and even God. Yet, It is our greatest opportunity in those times to ensure we GIVE Jesus. That by LIVING Jesus at every chance we get, our judgement will be on good things and not explaining our wrongs.

  33. Now I am on trial because of my hope in the fulfillment of God’s promise made to our ancestors. In fact, that is why the twelve tribes of Israel zealously worship God night and day, and they share the same hope I have. Yet, Your Majesty, they accuse me for having this hope! Why does it seem incredible to any of you that God can raise the dead?”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭26:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Paul made it clear that in both his heart and mind, he remained a faithful Jew. His trust in Jesus was an outgrowth of his trust in the hope of the promise made by God .

  34. 2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews

In the U.S. we have a right to be tried in court and before being sentenced or acquitted. The Romans have that same right here. This is why Paul gets to authority to speak about the crimes charged against him. It’s no coincidence that Paul was a Roman citizen. They may think that they are controlling Paul’s hearings but really God is setting him up to testify the Gospel. God will use people with different abilities and statuses for his Will to be accomplished through us. We should take note from Paul and think ourselves happy when the opportunity arises.

  35. v22 Having therefore obtained help of God , I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.

Somebody testify!!! IT’S AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF OUR SALVATION
The Holy Ghost provides the unction and power to make testimonies effective.

  36. Acts 26:6
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our Father’s

Paul defends himself again and king Agrippa says he would have been freed if he didn’t involve Caesar. No matter what Paul still witnesses to others about Jesus. He remains faithful no matter what.

  37. 2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

Paul told the ones trying to bring him down that I think myself happy. That no matter what you do I am going to be happy.

Through Jesus Christ we have true joy we have peace. When this world goes crazy we can be happy.

  38. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

    NLT
    Acts of the Apostles 26:14,17-18
[14]We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will.’
[17]And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles
[18]to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’

We shouldn’t fight against God’s will. We should obey God’s will and commandments. Lord I pray for our nation and community that their eyes be opened to you Lord. You are the light in the darkness. You are the way, the truth and the life

  39. 23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

We must have a loud voice so they can know we are bold and strong about his will and word because they can see that his word is true and strong

  40. I think myself happy; to speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

    Acts 26:2 KJV
[2] I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

♥️Acts 26:6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

    Acts 26:27-29 KJV
[27] King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. [28] Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. [29] And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

    There will be mountains
That I will have to climb
    And there will be battles
That I will have to fight
    But victory or defeat
It’s up to me to decide
But how can I expect to win
    If I never try
I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where
    I started from
    Nobody told me
    The road would be easy
And I don’t believe He’s brought me this far
    To leave me
Never said there wouldn’t be trials
    Never said I wouldn’t fall
Never said that everything would go
The way I want it to go
But when my back is against the wall
And I feel all hope is gone
I’ll just lift my head up to the sky
And say help me to be strong, oh
I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where
    I started from
    Nobody told me
    The road would be easy
And I don’t believe He’s brought me this far
    To leave me
Oh, I know You didn’t bring me
Out here to leave me lonely, oh no
Even when I can’t see clearly
I know that You are with me so I can’t
I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where
    I started from
    Nobody told me
    The road would be easy
And I don’t believe He’s brought me this far
    To leave me

  41. 28 But Agrippa did answer: “Keep this up much longer and you’ll make a Christian out of me!”

You never know how your testimony can impact someone else’s life. Speak of his greatness boldly and never doubt what God can do and do through you.

  42. 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

This verse really shows something a lot of people miss I believe, that if we don’t spread this gospel we are being disobedient to God.
God help us be obedient to you and do your work every chance we get, and help us find the hungry and lost people in our city.

  43. Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”Act 26:29 NLT

Just like paul we must develop a passion for souls.
Every where we go we must be ready and willing to share the Gospel. if we want souls to be saved. We must be willing to face our weaknesses and speak.

  44. This chapter shows the power of our testimony. No one can tell what Jesus has done in our lives better than we can. There is power in our testimony. This also reminds me of the May’s leadership lesson “Watch Your Mouth” please don’t go slandering a brother or sister. Allow them the opportunity to share their testimony. Things are not always as they seem. But in every situation it seems you always find the Pharisees, Sadducees and the people that want to crucify you and others are just trying to know what the truth is.

  45. 32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

They probably would’ve let The Jews kill him if he didn’t apeal to ceaser

  46. 16 Now you must get up. Stand on your feet. I have chosen you to be my servant. That is why I have appeared to you today. You must tell other people about what you have seen. After that, I will show you other things that you must tell people.

17 I will send you to speak about me to Jews and to Gentiles . Some of them will want to hurt you. But I will keep you safe.

18 You will help them to understand what is really true. They are like people who live in the dark. Teach them what is true about me. Then they will be like people who live in the light. Now Satan has power over them. Lead them from there into God’s kingdom . Then God will forgive them for the wrong things that they have done. Because they believe in me, God will accept them as his own people.” ’
    Acts 26:16‭-‬18 EASY

  47. 6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:
7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

Paul had told them that he would remain faithful to the Lord no matter what. And because of his faithfulness and commitment to the Lord, God saw his growth in faithfulness and trust. No matter what we face these days, no matter what trouble, or trial we have to be fully committed to the Lord and his word. We need to put our trust in him and believe that God is in control.

  48. ^^^we need to be leaders we were chosen for a reason, we are His disciples and we need to spread His gospel. We need to tell others about what He can do for us! He can deliver us from evil, He can forgive us of every sin we have done! He can save us! LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  49. Instantly serving God

    Acts 26:7

“Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.”

Brother Smith Gabe us incredible insight to submission today in our meeting. Then this word tonight…This “ Instantly serving God” jumps off the screen. You cannot be truly submitted and procrastinate on instructions. We have to immediately submit or it’s not submission at all. We have to be immediate in our response to Gods word. If we expect God to be on time with our prayer request, I’m sure he expects us to move when he says move.

  50. 6 And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our ancestors that I am on trial today. NIV

We should never ever let ourselves believe that God is not going to give us our promises because they haven’t happened yet, they will! It’s a promise, but patience and promise will always go together!

  51. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Paul testimony almost converted Agrippa to believe in God. God put Paul in this situation to reach out to many people that he might of not had the chance to reach out to in liberty. Many may hear you but not all will believe, but if one soul is converted great gain is there in the kingdom of God. So let us no stop sharing the word of God.

  52. Acts 26:19,20 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

Obedience to the vision motivates us to act. It fulfills is.
Vision enables us to continue despite struggles and lack of resources.

Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy for repentance.

  53. Acts 26

This Chapter means that, Paul Testified His Testimony to King Agrippa. And He thought Paul was insane, But He knew The Sober Truth and found no charges against Him.

  54. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. We hear that statement or a venation of it in teaching the gospel to groups or individuals. Even Paul stated verse 29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds. We are to continue to teach or preach the Gospel. We do contend for the for the Gospel. Those that are persuaded we hand them over to Jesus and his Spirit to others to finish the work and continue to press foreword to our divine calling.

  55. 23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

I read this and I think about how much Jesus suffered for each and every one of us. He paid the ultimate price and he was the only one who could. Then he arose from the dead, like only he could, be there will come a day when when he returns that the dead will arise and meet him in the sky. I believe though, we each must die, from our sinful lives, when we repent, get baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit. For the life of sin leads to death but once we do the things commanded of us, we leave that life behind, we are born again, and we rise to the challenge to become Christians. It is through his blood that we can do these things, for only in Jesus are all things possible. I am your servant, I am your follower, your believer, and I serve only you dear Jesus. Hallelujahs to you Lord, I praise and worship you, thank you for letting me serve you. Praise Jesus.

  56. 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

What’s your story? I ask many people that question when I’m just meeting them. However, what is your personal story ? What has the Lord done for you?

No matter how big or how small there is power in your testimony. Your personal testimony is the very thing some one needs to hear that will lead them closer to God, or give hope.

In Revelations we learn that the Word says on Rev 12:11 and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death.

That very thing that God has done for you is the very strong weapon for someone to overcome.

  57. “Suddenly, Festus shouted, “Paul, you are insane. Too much study has made you crazy!” But Paul replied, “I am not insane, Most Excellent Festus. What I am saying is the sober truth.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭26:24-25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let us seek the Lord and be not ashamed to do the will of the Lord has deigned us to do. For we know that the word of God is powerful, let us share that fire. That Jesus may fill all the people who listens to His word.

  58. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

We must be steadfast in our belief. Trouble will come your way when you’re living for God. The important thing is not to give up or give in to the things of this world. We must stay strong in the truth we have been taught. There is only one way to get to heaven and we must tell the world.

  59. Act 26:14  And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Act 26:15  And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
    Act 26:16  But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Act 26:17  Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
Act 26:18  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

This isnt the first time we’ve heard Paul share his testimony. This tells me there’s power in your testimony and of your experiences with the Holy Ghost you never know how you might impact someone’s faith. You may share your testimony and it may be just what someone needed to here that restores their faith or gives them hope and surety in Jesus Christ.

  60. 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

I remember coming to God, I wasn’t persecuting the church. But I feel like I did my part on kicking against the pricks but for I finally gave in to God dealing with my heart.

  61. 2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
Thinking happy and being happy are two different things.

Think in this scripture means to lead, i.e. command (with official authority); figuratively, to deem.
Also in the original Greek language happy means “supremely blessed, fortunate, and well off.”

In other words Paul was not saying he was in a ideal situation but he was divinly declaring the favor of God over himself. Paul is not some supernatural being that could not feel disappointment, looniness, and setbacks. Yet he did not allow them to change his perspective of the favor of God that was upon him. Or natural circumstance is not always a reflection of our spiritual favor.

We must gain the strength that Paul possessed in this passage and “think ourself happy” or declare ourselves favored even in the middle of turmoil.

  62. 8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

Don’t be the person that can’t believe the miracles God is capable of. After all we are fought, all we know, and what we have seen with our own eyes?? You would not want to get caught being questioned as a unfaithful questioner! “Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you. . . “. Why would you question whether something is an incredible thing?!? Don’t question Him! I pray that we shall not give into the spirit that questions. But prayer and daily blogging everyday!

  63. “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God asked him to “open their eyes”. I find this phrase interesting because Paul was blind. I know he is meaning spiritually, but it makes me think. Sometimes in ministry when people need things, you have to spiritually give by faith something that you might not physically have. It is a supernatural thing. You have to believe and give like you have always had it. Somewhere along your journ g, God will give you what you by faith are giving to other.

  64. “But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul was commissioned to be a minister, which means he was to be a servant of the things which he had seen, and of the things which Jesus would yet reveal to him.
Jesus described the work Paul would do. At that moment on the road to Damascus Paul was blinded by the great light from heaven. His eyes were not yet opened physically, but Jesus sent him to open the eyes of others both Jews and Gentiles.
Jesus then told Paul of four results that would come from the opening of the eyes, turned from darkness to light, turned from the power of Satan to God and to receive forgiveness of sins, and receive an inheritance among God’s people.

As servants of God in His kingdom now on this present time, we are also told to do the same work Paul did. We received the truth, our eyes were open, we turn away from the power of satan, from darkness to light, our sins were forgiven, NOW we must do the same to the people around us. There are so many people who also need God, turn their darkness into light, return to God.

    Small testimony:
I had a neighbor who knew I was a Christian and at the time I wasn’t passionate about the things of God. She was in such need of hope and wanted something different in her life. We set together many times in my porch and talk and she would cried and I would just listen. After 2 months we moved to Rockwall, Texas and on the same time she passed away in a car accident. My greatest regret today was I never told her that there was a God that could change her life. I never told her that she can be saved or that she had hope in Jesus. And the saddest part is that she died not knowing about Jesus.

God send us people that are in great need and what we do is up to us. But since that day on till today, I don’t loose another moment to tell people about God.

  65. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

You can’t force somebody to follow Jesus. It is a choice one must make from the heart.

It’s important to understand that when you’re testifying to someone or reaching out to them, you’re nothing but a vessel. A cup being used by God. So if the word that’s poured out through you is rejected, remember, they’re rejecting Jesus. Not you.

We must persist in prayer for those that constantly do not receive the word of God in their lives. Jesus deals with everyone differently. We may not understand the way He does things but one thing sure you can always trust Him.

  66. 32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

It becomes us, on all occasions, to speak the words of truth and soberness, and then we need not be troubled at the unjust censures of men. Also, we must remember that it was God’s purpose for Paul to go to Rome. God has always a plan for everything.

  67. In this chapter Paul explains how God chose him to be his servant. God wants us all to serve him and turn our life around. We are going to face opposition through this process but God will strengthen us.
