Acts 27

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

  1. 11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. Those that are not Christians are blind to the leading of the Holy Spirit. They only trust another blind person the owner of the ship. They began to listen to Paul. The soldiers were ready to kill the prisoners . The centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land. As Paul did he kept his ears open to hear and his eyes open to the heavenly visitor to save all on board. May we learn to do the same also.

  2. 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

It’s important that we listen to the man of God’s advice and instruction. They are the overseers of our souls and will be held accountable for us. They can help lead us to where God wants us to be but we have to be willing to be teachable and listen. Disregarding the man of God’s advice or instruction can lead you to dangerous waters and possibly even death.

  3. Act 27:44  And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

In the middle of a storm and everyone thinks they’re doomed the man of God speaks up and says hush up…we got an angel over us. BAM these guys all make to shore safely. No ones hurt or anything. This sounds familiar haha, ya know maybe we ought to trust in the man of God and believe it when he’s says it’ll be alright. Gods not done, there’s still prophecy to go fourth with this church and it’s time we dig in and get after it.

  4. 7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

  5. When you feel like you’re drowning remember who your God is, he will not fail or forsake you. You will be safe, you must trust in him and trust the people he brought into your life .

  6. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

When the man of God has heard a word from the Lord, we have to listen and heed the voice of God. When Paul told them that God had spoken through an angel that all would not be lost, he spoke with assurance that if they had only listened. Sometimes we are hard-headed in heeding the voice of God. We seem to think that our way is always the best way. We have to be able to be versatile and willing to listen to the instructions of the Holy Ghost when it quickens our spirit to obey. We can afford the luxury of not obeying the voice of God and still think we can get the same results.

We are ever tossed on the sea of life. There are some storms that appear to be stronger at time and it looks like we might perish. But in all my time living for God, if we have the ability to submit and stay in the boat, God will drive it into safe waters and the storm will not destroy us. We have to be able to hold fast to the hand of God. I’m reminded this morning that we are sailing some uncharted waters but don’t worry when God is our captain we will make our destination.

As read this morning this old song keeps playing over in my mind:

She’s a big old ship and she’s sitting mighty low in the water
‘Cause she’s been on her maiden voyage
Ever since the blood of Calvary bought her
    She’s weathered violent storms
Some passengers jumped overboard and drowned
But she’s not just some Titanic
She’s the church and she’s not going down

Sail on old ship of Zion brave what lurks in a cold dark night
Sail on old ship of Zion till you see that beacon light
Sail on old ship of Zion He’s on board you’re not alone
Sail on till you hear the Captain
Say Land’s in sight you’ve made it home

This ship was launched from a hill outside Jerusalem
Caught a brand new gust of wind
When it breezed through the upper room
Rode out a storm with a jail cell song at midnight
What makes you think she’s gonna sink
    In some modern day typhoon

Sail on old ship of Zion He’s on board your not alone
Sail on till you hear the Captain
Say land’s in sight you’ve made it home

Sail on old ship of Zion
Sail on old ship of Zion
Sail on old ship of Zion
He’s on board and I can’t wait to hear Him say
    Church you’ve made it home

  8. Acts 27

1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

    21. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

There will always be contrary and competing voices trying to speak into our lives – the question is, which one will we believe and obey?

  10. Faith, Faith, Faith…just a little bit of faith is all it took for so many in this chapter. Julius had a little bit of faith that Paul would not run off and escape with his friends, as he gave him that liberty. Paul’s faith in what the angel of God had spoken to him was clear as he shared it with his new found friends. The centurion and his soldiers had to have a little bit of faith in what Paul was telling them in order for them to cut off their only means, as the lifeboats drifted away. Everyone in the ship had to have a little bit of faith as they ate, when Paul told them to eat something in order for them to gain strength for what they were about to embark on. And then once again the centurion had the faith that no prisoner would escape, when he stopped his soldiers from killing any of the prisoners, as he was determined to save Paul. Then everyone in the ship had a little bit of faith as they dove in, grabbed planks as everyone made it safely to shore. In a lot of their situations here, they had to work together and trust one another in order to survive. All of this came through Paul’s faith in what God had promised him, ‘….Don’t give up, Paul. You’re going to stand before Caesar yet—and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.”

Ephesians 3:11-12 MSG “All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus. When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go.” So let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS in faith!

  11. Acts 23:24 [ For this [ very] night there stood by my side an angel of the God to Whom I belong and Whom I serve and worship.
[24] And he said, Do not be frightened, Paul ! It is necessary for you to stand before Caesar ; and behold, God has given you all those who are sailing with you.
Don’t worry just remember that God is with us wherever we are.
He will never for sake us or leave us!
    Being obeinant is safe!
God is our Refuge and Strength!
God gets Glory and Honer for he is so good.

  12. 34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Listening to the man that God is not always going to be easy. We may not always agree with him there may be someone else’s advice that seems more sound but as much as it goes against what we want to do especially in regards to impending danger, listening to the man of God has a particular safety-net on it. Our job is the church is to be submissive to the Shepherd that God gives us and to allow God to deal with that Shepherd should he lead us astray. There have been many instances in my life where I was very blessed just because I submitted to my pastor at the time whether he was right or wrong about a situation. The man of God over us has been charged with protection and is the man that is at the watchtower looking for anything that is coming our way. God will direct and give him insight to things we may not see but our submission is what protects us. Thankful for the man of God over POFW

  14. 42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

God is so Good and His Mercy endureth FOREVER!!!! No matter what wins come your way, nor what rocks get in your path, stand fast, do not falter for our God is with us all the way and HE HAS THE VICTORY OVER DEATH!!!! Thank you Jesus!! I can’t thank Him enough for everything He has done for me. Paul through everything has no fear for he knows that God has everything under control. There is nothing better than to trust God no matter what the world says, no matter what the doctors say, no matter what evidence they can show, TRUST IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH!! I believe the report of the Lord!!!!

  15. God knows the end from the begining and he plan for our life will be fulfilled when we are obedient to His admonition .

  16. Guardian or just visiting?

24-25 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Could this have been a dedicated angel that was sent from God with explicit instructions concerning Paul? Or, could this have been an answer to Paul’s most recent prayer for safety and protection? The idea that a guardian angel is watching over us can be an enormous comfort; as they would always be on watch. An angel that is sent in response to a particular prayer or need can also bring comfort but how would know if the prayer warranted an angelic response?

While many may remain skeptics, there are plenty who believe in the presence and power of angels. Many preachers have shared stories of Angelic visits; I can presume that to be a life changing event. I have not had angelic visions, dreams or visitations. I do believe angels have the power to interrupt our lives in accordance to God’s plan and will. This does bring comfort that whatever is going on in our lives we have an advocate.

  17. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus

10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

This chapter is filled with nuggets of wisdom and guidance. It starts with the fact the man of God prophesying of the peril of the journey. We should listen to the man of God and regardless of how we feel, we should submit ourselves. Paul later basically tells everyone they should have listened to him and precedes to lead the way with the instructions that would save everyones life who were on the ship.

One thing that has always intrigued me is the following. Why did everyone have to stay on the ship in order to be saved. Why couldn’t them fellers leave on the life boat? I would love to get the revelation one day, that would be cool.

  18. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. Acts 27:11‭-‬26 KJV
Paul had faith along he knew that God was going to save them even though the men refuse to listen to the man of God he still save them don’t be stubborn listen to the man of God

  19. “For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’”

When you are in the middle of a storm it’s hard to believe and trust and things you cannot see. But when you put your trust in the Lord and He will bring you through.

  20. “Just as day was dawning, Paul urged everyone to eat. “You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks,” he said. “Please eat something now for your own good. For not a hair of your heads will perish.” Then he took some bread, gave thanks to God before them all, and broke off a piece and ate it.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:33-35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Paul
    1. received the Word from God
    2. positioned himself for the Word.
    3. Shared the Word
    4. Led and Assured the people around him with the Word.
This is great example of the action that must be taken when receiving a Word from God. We must position ourselves to hear from God. A position where our spirit is open and in tuned with God. And once we’ve received a Word from God we must share it. We are Gods hands, feet and mouth piece. And how shall they hear without a preacher?

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  21. In these passages there were firm believers that know they were gonna make it thru, there were some that hoped to make it and some that prayed to make it. Well praying for yourself and you brother is the way. But praying and standing on God’s promise prevails.

  22. Acts 27:21-26
“But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.”

I’m pretty sure they all were thinking “Hindsight is 20/20”. Paul and the others that had any sense about the conditions of the sea, had voiced their concerns but still the masters pressed on, regardless of the perilous conditions. Isn’t it amazing how you can warn people and beg them at times, but they still rush into situations that they should have prayed and ask God to guide their path.

I am thankful that I know the “Master of the Wind” when things are not well that I have great peace that He’s guiding my ship and He knows what’s best for me!

    “My boat of life
    Sails on a troubled sea
Ever there’s a wind in my sail
    But I b have a friend
    Who watches over me
When the breeze turns into a gale

I know the master of the wind
I know the maker of the rain
    He calm the storm
And make the sun to shine again
I know the master of the wind

Sometimes I soar like an eagle
Among the peaks my soul can be found
    An unexpected storm
May drive me from the heights
    It may bring me low
But it will never bring me down

I know the Master of the wind
I know the Maker of rain
    He can calm the storm
And make the sun shine again
I know the Master of the wind

  23. When we’re shipwrecked it seems like all hope is lost, BUT GOD…

Storms are raging in our lives and it seems like everything is falling apart, BUT GOD…

GOD sometimes has to allow us or situations to fall apart a bit so that HE can put us back together the way HE needs us to be. This is where FAITH comes in and following HIS direction. If we try to put it back together ourselves it ALWAYS falls apart again…. Watching and walking by FAITH that even though it seems hopeless, God is doing something in the midst of the chaos. He removes the toxic and what weighs us down. He uses His expert hands to rebuild us ( HE is a Carpenter after all) into something better than we could have ever imagined.

God had to do this to me… And I take a look at my like and am in awe of His goodness and love for me. He saved me. Remade me❤️🔨

  24. 34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

For their you go for all vegan and vegetarian eat meat or your hair will fall off your head.

  25. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Paul’s been falsely accused of many things, imprisoned, and now in the middle of the storm that he warned them about. Even though they did not listen they are saved because of him. God still had a purpose for him and would not allow anything to stop His plan. We must learn to live so closely to God that even in the worse of times we hold to the voice of God. Someone may be saved because of our ability to spiritually listen and obey Him.

  26. 25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.

If we believe in God, we should always stay encouraged. Nothing should discourage you, no sickness, no virus, no financial troubles, etc. Through prayer, ask God what you want, and it shall be given. Encourage each in the Lord, and all will be good.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

  27. “And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Never let her drive

“For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:23-24‬ ‭
Waiting on God requires us to face times of uncertainty. But the promise that we have and hold tight will legit keep us going. Visions and dreams only made by God. Can only be accomplished by God and his hand. So times will come when we might not be able to see down the road. We may not see ourself living for tomorrow. But just why on the Lord. Your strength will be renewed.

  28. In this chapter, Paul was on his way to see Ceasar because the Jews still had something against him. But Paul was trying to reach higher authority because that is what God said. Paul then jumped on a ship to go to Italy because that was where Ceasar was. Paul told them not to leave because they’re was a great storm. The ship driver said no because he thought it was ok. After a few days the storm stopped. An angel came to Paul and said none that was on the ship was going to die. At the end the ship was all beat up, so all of the people in the storm had to swim to land. We can apply this chapter to our lives by when we are in the storm we had to let go of all of our fear and trust in God. Also we have to Justine to the people around us they try to get us out of trouble. Paul told them that there was a storm but none believed him.

  29. Pual spoke to a angle and they said that they would all live
And all of them lived I learned to trust the man of god

  30. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

Even in the midst of our trouble, God is with us. I know it can be hard at times to hold on to what you believe. The enemy will continue to try and persuade you to give up. When your feet is planted firmly in God’s word, giving up is not an option. God is with us. Even if things do not go the way you planned, we must remember that God has got everything in control.

  31. Acts 27

23-26 “Last night God’s angel stood at my side, an angel of this God I serve, saying to me, ‘Don’t give up, Paul. You’re going to stand before Caesar yet—and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.’ So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me. But we’re going to shipwreck on some island or other.”

    Leading While Bleeding
An old cliche now . But it was a great sermon title that became popular to many in ministry as they began to face hardships and life in general. Must messages were to continue to lead and ignore what was going on in your own life. Not only were there times that good leaders lost their spiritual life and some their own physical due to emotional physical and mental. Even congregations seemed to fall apArt at the seams . Was the message good lead while you bleed ? Sure but it wasn’t the message that had fault or a glitch as we call it today . The entirety was to keep on leading no matter what.
Yet……..as I take a look today at the life of Paul I see maybe where the messages that had been preached and truly was meant for good could possibly had saved many lives those in leadership and those that were being led. There was a turn in the principles and the beliefs that soon began to deteriorate. Hurts habits and hang ups fall right in the midst of this journey Paul was on. Yes many would say he was leading while bleeding . But I find a strength that Paul portrays that turns the message Leading While Bleeding into something greater than a cliche of leaders leading in the midst of their pain. One thing was lacking that Paul proves right here . A true commitment surrender and a real relationship with Jesus Christ . Leadership is not about jumping out if the ship because of the storm yep another good message for a sermon . Paul has been through some tough rough times . He is now just a common prisoner yet his leadership skills just cannot be chained down. He was still having a true relationship with God . Angels were still visiting him. He had not allowed bitterness because of each testimony g and trials and even his own struggles to deafen his ears to the true voice of God. We the church must continue to lead yes we are are surrounded by hurts some have habits that need to be dealt with and ways that can be changed and there are going to be gang ups. If Paul had not allowed God’s true balm to bring healing in the midst of each trial he would have her. Blessings while leading . The loss of blood is life threatening. This is why there are fatalities to some in leadership there has to be a transfusion continually and we get that transfusion spiritually daily in the presence of God . Yes a true relationship a blood kinship that washes over and over our minds and life . Something that changes your entire relationship with God .
Paul was able to give the encouragement needed because he had a true conversion a true continuous submitted life . God kept reassuring him daily. He counted each moment the opportunity of a life time to lead someone no matter his situation. Yes I’ve been all over the place with this today. Just to say you can’t lead while bleeding . You must continue to allow The Healer to heal you daily so you can lead. As Paul proves this . Yes a leader even though he was in the midst of a trial . Yet he could lead successfully only because he truly was committed and confident in his faith in God!

  32. 11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

While there are many good verses to write about, this one stuck out to me. They ignored Paul, the man of God, and were guided by by their desire of the comforts of the flesh. These sailors were not religious and not Jewish to begin with and it shows the ways of this world: comfort for this flesh with disregard for the spiritual. However, great storms get everyone’s attention and they are now ready to listen to Paul because they need help. The world today is in a great storm and many people around us are ready for help. They are ready to listen to the gospel message and we must be sensitive to that and be ready to give our testimony and to teach the new birth.

  33. I learned that this ship was trying to going to Italy there were 276 people on the ship when they where going to Italy a storm came then they turnt around but Paul said do not turn the ship around but they turned it around then this massive storm was behind them it was scratching up the ship but Paul said an angel was sitting beside me and said we ar not going to die.

  34. 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Paul warned them of what would happen if they left that day. But because they chose not to listen, they were caught in the middle of a storm.

It’s easy for us to sit back and say “they should have just listened”, but how many times has one of us been in a similar place?

The man of God is placed in our lives to help lead and guide us. To warn us from going to places we were not called or perhaps moving into something new before it’s our time.

He is there for a reason; but if you choose not to listen, you may just walk into a storm you could have easily avoided.

  35. 27:36 then were they all in good cheer, and they also took some meat.😃
—- the book of Ecclesiastes tells us: that there is a time for everything. Here on earth…..
There is a time to be born and a time to die
A time to kill and a time a to heal
A time to mourn and a time to dance and so on….
These words of encouragement sure life’s up their spirit.
    And even ate.
Do we still remember the sweet presence of God last night in the Sanctuary?
That peace and relieve that only God can give.
Paul was the encourager, Paul was the intercesor in that situation.
Here is one important thing for you( me) to learn.
He( Paul) is on his way to again be accused ( for the gospel) he is getting ready to appeal to Caesar…..
Yet , he is not holding grudges, but instead he is being a vessel , a servant of God.
Maybe, just maybe some of these men may believe in
    His God.( the only one).
    No matter the situation ,
I will stand on the word, I will keep my believes
I will be the light. The Lord will use me for His glory.
In Jesus name and His will and promises shall come to pass.
    My 🙏.

  36. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Be of good cheer! Why? Because I believe God! I believe God and I believe everything will work out just as He says. Easy peasy folks, is basically what Paul was saying. Listen to me and chill out, God’s got us! How many people today could we simply tell, “Be of good cheer, for I believe God!” So simple, just ask people to believe with you and be cheerful! People are looking for cheer and reasons to be happy right now – let’s be that hope for them in Jesus Name!

  37. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
    27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

When you were going through the trials of life and and it seems like there is no hope and you think what’s the use in going to church, you got to look back and see that God is always with you. Never leave the ship. The church Is the light and the strength of your life.

  38. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

    Hallelujah

  39. AMP – 21 After [f]they had gone a long time without food [because of seasickness and stress], Paul stood up before them and said, “Men, you should have followed my advice and should not have set sail from Crete, and brought on this damage and loss. 22 But even now I urge you to keep up your courage and be in good spirits, because there will be no loss of life among you, but only loss of the ship. 23 For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, 24 and said, ‘Stop being afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has given you [the lives of] all those who are sailing with you.’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I believe God and have complete confidence in Him that it will turn out exactly as I have been told; 26 but we must run [the ship] aground on some island.”

Paul had previously warned the crewman that it would not be a good idea to sail, but they set sail anyway. Amidst the storm that was raging, the Lord sent an angel to speak to Paul with direction that eventually brought them to safety.

God is so good to us that even when He has givens direction through the man of God, and we don’t listen, and we end up in the storm of our lives, that God will have mercy and rescue us.

Perhaps God gave you specific instructions years ago that you did not follow and you feel like there is no way to regain what has been lost. Never fear, Jesus is a big GOD. He can take our messes and make a miracle.

It’s never too late. It may not be what you thought it was going to be because of choices made, but give it all to JESUS and watch what He will do.

  40. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
THE HIGH COST OF SELF WILL

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Taking counsel is the application of wisdom. I approach the giving and receiving of counsel with a scriptural and practical process, I seek to find scripture to support the counsel I share, so we stand on HIS word and not our own. We all possess a self will and would do destructive things to ourselves and others if it were not for the BIBLE, pastors, laws, law enforcement, military, and such that promote instruction and restraint.

In this chapter we learn of a SHIPWRECK that could have been avoided, but the desire of the captain was to keep the commerce moving and finish the run. What most people ignore when self will takes over is the path and process of pain and harm to self and more importantly to others.

The counsel that Paul gave was practical and spiritual. Remember, at that time there was no BIBLE to read, no commentaries to study, only the law of the elders or the scroll and the testimony of JESUS resurrection. Lets look deeper. Paul advised them to not sail based on practical advice. He was not a weatherman, but knew enough about the seas and seasons to advise against going forward. This is practical counsel that should have been obeyed as in verse 21.

But in verse 22, Paul gives spiritual counsel, based on the voice of the angel of GOD from verse 23. Human will is tough to change. We seek affirmation, but too often we seek affirmation from the wrong source.

At creation GOD said, it is GOOD and at judgement we seek to hear WELL DONE. But the dash in the middle we call LIFE and we make choices each day that will not affect our beginning but will definitely affect our eternity.

THE HIGH COST OF SELF WILL is that we face the consequences of our choices and unfortunately others face the consequences of our choices also. In this chapter, the choice reveals THE HIGH COST OF SELF WILL. The captain lost everything, the cargo, the business and the ship. The choice placed all those in the ship in danger and placed undo hardships upon all.

SELF WILL is something we will contend with as long as we are ALIVE.

  41. “Then Paul spoke to the crew of the ship, “Men, listen to me! If we sail now, our ship and its cargo will be badly damaged, and many lives will be lost.” But Julius listened to the captain of the ship and its owner, rather than to Paul.

I belong to God, and I worship him. Last night he sent an angel to tell me, “Paul, don’t be afraid! You will stand trial before the Emperor. And because of you, God will save the lives of everyone on the ship.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:10-11, 23-24‬ ‭CEV‬‬

Going through storms will always require Devine direction from the man of GOD. Many don’t want or ask for help during times like this. Not asking or seeking will take you further into trouble and may cost a great loss…spiritually!!

  42. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Whenever god says that he is with you he means he is walking with you every day and every hour, and whenever god speaks a blessing into your life you better be prepared for something beyond measure. We are all given a measure of faith and whenever god speaks in our life we better act on our faith and trust in him.

  43. “After they had gone a long time without food [because of seasickness and stress], Paul stood up before them and said, “Men, you should have followed my advice and should not have set sail from Crete, and brought on this damage and loss. But even now I urge you to keep up your courage and be in good spirits, because there will be no loss of life among you, but only loss of the ship.

Having said this, he took bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all, and he broke it and began to eat. Then all of them were encouraged and their spirits improved, and they also ate some food.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:21-22, 35-36‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Paul warmed them and they did not listen, but he still continued to encourage them and let them know they would make it safely. Sometimes it is just better to listen to authority than our own selves. God places people in our lives to look out for us and sometimes it may not be something we want to hear but we need to yield to it and accept what is being said. We need to follow the instructions because when we do it is much better. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Sometimes it may not be what we want to hear but we still need to listen. Thankful that god has placed authority figures in my life to correct me and lead and guide me.

  44. 44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

God said they would all be safe and it happened

  45. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

When the word of the Lord or the men of God comes with a warning we should listen and take to heart of what it says.
The owners of the ship were probably up set that they lost the ship and the supplies they could of just waited another day or week and it would been ok but there pride of saying ill go now got them in a mess.

Psalms 27:14 – Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

We would be wise to wait on the Lord and go when he says go

  46. Acts 27:42-44 MSG “The soldiers decided to kill the prisoners so none could escape by swimming, but the centurion, determined to save Paul, stopped them. He gave orders for anyone who could swim to dive in and go for it, and for the rest to grab a plank. Everyone made it to shore safely.”

Here’s Paul a prisoner on a ship soon to be shipwrecked, and the soldiers decided to just kill all the prisoner. Yet, through the chapter we continue to read that Paul’s faith is not shaken nor stirred. But rather voice of peace and reason through the storm.

To Pauls knowledge or not, Jesus was already providing a way to ensure that His will was done. As we read the centurion was determined to save Paul.

Pauls work was not finished, as he still had many to witness too.

To our own knowledge or not, the Lord is already providing a way to ensure that the work for us is done. That we will daily LIVE and GIVE Jesus!

  47. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

No matter the situation or what we might be going through God’s protection is always with us. He is always beside us.
And to be happy, joyful, for we know that God promises will come to pass. For he doesn’t change and we might not see what he has for us and we might been praying for a miracle to happen in our lives. We should be able to rejoice in his presence till that miracle comes to pass, we should praise him in confidence that his timing is always right and sometimes even what we ask isn’t what we need.

  48. “After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss. But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:21-22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We’re all guilty of thinking we know what is best for our life at one point or another. We go against what the man of God has adviced or what we know God has specifically instructed us to do because again, we know best. And even though we hoped for the best we slowly begin to see a storm brewing in the distance, one we could’ve avoided to begin with. When the storm arrives and the waves start crashing we attempt to reconcile our mistakes and start throwing things overboard. First we throw the cargo we’re holding, maybe that’s the responsibilities of work we’ve taken on, commitments we’ve made at church or maybe even people we hold dear, but that doesn’t work, we’re still riding against the storm. So we throw our tackle over, we let go of anything and anyone that that can help steer us in the right direction and get us where we were always meant to go. We’ve lost all hope.

But if we can just do like Paul instructed the crew of the ship and just hang on a bit longer we’ll make it through this storm that seems hopeless. Because it was never God’s intentions to put you in harms way, that was our choice. It was never God’s intentions to make you weather these specific storms of life, but we thought we knew best. All he wanted was for us to wait, wait the winter out and move on later, but we couldn’t wait, the next destination seemed to be in grasp. But just hold on, your life will be spared, the storm will pass and the only thing that will be destroyed is the ship, “Self-will.”

  49. 1. And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band. 2. And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia, one Aristarchus, a Macedonia of Thessalonica , being with us. 3. And the next day we touched at Sidon, aAnd Julius courteously entreated Paul , and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself. 4. And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

  50. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The Living Bible
    vs-42
The soldiers advised their commanding officer to let them kill the prisoners least any of them swim ashore and escape.
    Kill the prisoners
The rule that any who allow prisoners to escape must suffer thier penality had its drawbacks for the prisoners.

  51. “And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul as a messenger of God, Paul hoped to bring hope to these passengers and crew who had given up all hope. Paul knew he would make it to Rome because God promised it. Yet in the storm it was easy to doubt and Paul needed the assurance.

There are times in our lives that we might feel like there is no hope. We might even think that there is no way out like the crew on the 🚢 ship. But I encourage today to remember that we serve a mighty God that even in the storm you are passing through God has all under control. God hasn’t forgotten you even if you seem lost, God is there by your side.

  52. “And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:35‬ ‭KJV

Since Paul’s encounter with God on the road to Damascus, we have seen his faith increase. Then named Saul, he had enough faith to go to Damascus and wait for God to send Ananias to restore his sight. Then we see his faith increase as he is tasked with overcoming his testimony. All the Jews who taught in Jesus’ name knew Saul’s reputation, but despite his past Saul continued to place his faith in God, allowing Him to lead and guide him. Then Paul went on to travel preaching, teaching, and baptizing in Jesus name while allowing God to use him to do miracles. Paul’s faith increased again when he was placed in prison with Silas while in Macedonia. Prison didn’t stop him from trusting God’s plan. They praised and worshipped at midnight and God broke every lock and chain.

Paul continued to heed God’s voice and proclaim the name of Jesus wherever he went regardless of others’ response. Paul was bold and steadfast with his eyes set on Jesus. His faith increased yet again when he went to Jerusalem although everyone told him not to. He trusted and obeyed God’s voice and went, not caring for his life but for his ministry and sharing God’s gospel. He openly shared the gospel with others while in prison and now we see him openly praising and worshipping God despite being in the middle of a storm facing death. His faith was enough to believe on God that He would stay true to His Word and save not only himself but all 276 that were on the ship with him.

I went through Paul’s journey to say this – We serve a God that will never change. Through any situation we might face He has already given us the victory. All we need to do is stay committed in our prayer, outreach, fasting, and worship.

I thank God for showing us the greatest love we have ever seen, for staying faithful to His Word, and for providing a great example of how adamant we should be in going forth and teaching all nations. I pray, no matter the situation, we always have faith in God knowing He is good!

  53. Sometimes it takes a mountain sometimes it takes a storm to get people to believe 🌾 there’s always purpose for a storm.
When the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

Now that’s a whole lot of seed that’s about to be planted Acts 27:38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

A key part of wheat genetics is that the plant is self-pollinating, meaning the pollen from the anthers falls onto the stigma within the same flower. To cross varieties, breeders must remove the male anther part of a wheat flower before it produces pollen, then once the stigma has matured, introduce pollen from the plant they wish to cross the wheat with. This process, known as hybridisation, produces a first-generation F1 plant that will be a genetic cross of the parents. However, the next generation, an F2, will have huge diversity because of the large number of genotypes created by the hybridisation process. To produce a stable variety, multiple generations of self-pollination and careful selection of plants is required.

    Acts 27:23-24 KJV
[23] For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, [24] Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

    I faced a mountain,
    That I never faced before
That’s why I’m calling on You Lord
    I know it’s been awhile,
But Lord please hear my prayer
I need You like I never have before
    Sometimes it takes a mountain
    Sometimes a troubled sea
    Sometimes it takes a desert
To get a hold of me
Your love is so much stronger
    Than whatever troubles me
    Sometimes it takes a mountain
    To trust You and believe
    Forgive me Jesus
    I thought I could control
Whatever life would throw my way
    But this I will admit
Has brought me to my knees
I need You Lord and I’m not ashamed to say
    Sometimes it takes a mountain
    Sometimes a troubled sea
    Sometimes it takes a desert
To get a hold of me
Your love is so much stronger
    Than whatever troubles me
    Sometimes it takes a mountain
    To trust You and believe
    Sometimes…

  54. Acts 27
God warned Paul that through a storm the ship would be ruined but no man would die. Paul told the crew how God had talked to him. It came to pass that of course God was right. We need to listen to God. How many times has he warned us? Do we listen? We must have a relationship with God in order to hear him.

  55. Acts 27
What I feel like I learned today from this chapter is…
When one refuses to listen to the man of God (Pastor) in their life, and do their own thing, it can lead to a storm in their life where they feel like all hope is lost.
    BUT
Thanks be to God, the man of God (Pastor) doesn’t give up on us. He is there to encourage us with a word from God; He encourages us to stay in church (the ship); and he tells us to eat (EAT The WORD) for our spiritual health. It will strengthen and encourage us to continue on until we come out of the storm.

  56. “Since they had been without food for a long time, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me and not have set sail from Crete and incurred this injury and loss.

For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told.”

    https://www.bible.com/59/act.27.21,23-25.esv

I found in these few verses that When God speaks to us we need to do everything he says as he said it, we don’t need to skip over key points or manipulate his words but speak what he tells us word by word.

  57. “No one had eaten for a long time. Finally, Paul called the crew together and said, “Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss. But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:21-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
As a messenger of God, Paul hoped to bring hope to these passengers and crew who had given up all hope. His point wasn’t simply to tell them he was right, but to bring them good news.

  58. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Praise the Lord! I will be of good cheer for the Lord is my strength!

  59. We should obey God and listen what the man of God says. If we work together lives can be saved.

  60. But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’
    Acts 27:22‭-‬24 NLT

No matter what storm we find ourselves in, if we are faithful in following Him, God will protect us. We May be shipwrecked and stranded on an Island but we will survive. We May feel scared and hopeless but God is always faithful and keeps us protected in His hands.

  61. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

when we walk in the ways of the Lord, he will give us favor of those around us.

  62. 3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

When someone is a true criminal the last thing the justice system wants to do is put them back on the street. Julius obviously found Paul to be of no real threat. The mercy of God made a way for him to be refreshed after his long journey. He will do the same for us. God will renew and refresh us when we call on him.

  63. Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, you cannot be saved. Acts 27:31

Though God has unconditionally promised to Paul that every life would be spared, Paul warns that the sailors must stay on board to man the ship. The sailors had a responsibility to fulfill(vv.39,40).
And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship. And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed them selves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

    We must stick together!
    Focus on others not ourselves.

  64. 19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

    Left in darkness.
The consequences of not listening to the voice of the man of God. Now it may be that this people did not respect or much less had regard for the voice of what Paul had to say. Yet the consequences were still devastating. Imagine to what extent the results may be for playing deaf to your man of God. When the words go forth in a message and you choose not to take heed. They which ignored the advice of Paul were left in darkness seeing neither the sun or stars and tempest was upon them.

  65. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

  66. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

Paul knew that if he believed and have great faith he will save them from the storm. We know that there will be hard time and we must have faith in Him so we can save us from our storm.

  67. 21 After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss.
25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

When you listen to God and to the man of God you can separate yourself from the storm. Paul tried to warn the people and stay clear of a storm but when they didn’t listen he was prepared for it by keeping faith in God. In the storm God will always be there keeping true to his word that he will bring us out, but we must keep our faith and trust in him.

  68. v25 ” for I believe God”

    2 Chronicles vvs.20-21
” Believe what you heard ”
Believe the word of the Lord”

  69. “Just as day was dawning, Paul urged everyone to eat. “You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks,” he said.”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The prisoners allowed themselves to be distracted by the chaos around them by it affecting them to worry and not eat. We know that if we worry about something that’s not of God and we allow it to distract us from losing our focus on God. It can affect our minds if we let it. That’s why the man of God always tells us to read the Bible and blog everyday. For he knows that the Word of God can help us and guide us with true wisdom and a sense of direction.

  70. Fully committed to the wrong purpose

“And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These guys were told by the man of God not to go but they went anyways. In one since they were rebellious to the word of God but if you only read part of the scripture you would think they were full of faith committing our toward the wind with uncertainty looming at the launch. Sometimes it looks like someone is going and doing amazing things but they crash and we wonder what happened. The underlying factor may be that they are committed to the wrong purpose. The only way to know for sure if you are on the right path is to pray and ask God and your pastor to confirm it. If you hear crickets in prayer and your pastor says it’s a bad idea, maybe you are on the wrong street. Let us be fully committed to the right purposes in our life.

  71. 22 But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. 23 Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me 24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5

  72. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

We may be shipwrecked in our life that as the storms hit, we dive into the waters in desperation to swim to shore for safety. We must pray and listen to what God is commanding us to do and obey. God told Paul that the ship will be destroyed but no life will perish. Yes sister and brother the storm in our lives seems greater, stronger and powerful. But the Lord has it all under control and you will not perish. Have faith and tell others that the in this storm God reigns!

  73. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

Paul warned the people to stay away and clear of the storm, but none of them had listened. So Paul kept his trust and faith in the Lord. No matter what kind of storm you are in you shouldn’t be losing faith and trust in the Lord, for no matter what he always is right next to you protecting you. During our storms we need to be trusting and believing in the Lord that he is with you no matter what, and remember that God has everything planned and let’s everything happen for a reason.

  74. “For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:23-25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These Scriptures means that, Paul had Faith and Trusted in God. While the other men went on their own idea, and costed them shipwreck, while a prophecy was being fulfilled.

  75. “Now when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest beat on us, all hope that we would be saved was finally given up.” Acts 27:20

Take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you but only of the ship” (Acts 27:22). I believe here that God was saying through Paul, “Don’t look at the circumstances because I have a plan for you that goes beyond your current difficulties. You are not going to die here. I have further use for you.” Paul told them that God had already told him that he would appear before Caesar, and that everyone else on the boat would also survive. Wow so beautiful, that is a word of encouragement from the throne of Grace! God was faithful to perform what He had promised in their lives, and He does the same in our lives today. Take hope this day that your anchor is held secure by the promises of God to you. God has promised that He will never leave us. As we have learned many years ago to pray in such storms…
GOD, You said it and I believe it! Amen.

  76. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

God finds even amongst his enemies those whose help he uses to preserve his own.

  77. “Just as day was dawning, Paul urged everyone to eat. “You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks,” he said. “Please eat something now for your own good. For not a hair of your heads will perish.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:33-34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some of us have lost our fire because of this storm and we have forgotten the word of God and things that He can do. We let the spirit of fear come into our life and it’s has driven us away from the blessings. the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind , we got the power to overcome the spirit of fear and the enemy are gonna fall and the enemy are gonna scatter and now is not time to throw in the towel but now it’s time to open your mouth and say I believe that I’m going to be blessed. In the storm you are peace and your love won’t let me go your word is settled in heaven it will be done for your is the kingdom forever and let your will be done.

  78. God encouraged Paul in the middle of the storm. We may not understand why the storms come our way but in a time like this God is always with us. It’s up to us to keep the faith and trust God in these storms that can literally make you think why me why am I going through it, simply give it to God he’s in control he’ll make a way when there is no way. Be ready to receive and give him the glory always.

  79. 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

In this verse Paul try to warm them of the troubles about to come, but they were stubborn, and it almost killed them all. There are times in our lives, that we need to listen. For if we were just to listen, than it could prevent us from harm. There have been many times in my life where I was stubborn, too prideful to think that I could be wrong, and it is usually during these times that the lesson I learn from it, came much harder than it needed to be. God speaks to us, he wants to prevent us from harm and difficulty, but we think we know what’s best, and after troubles arise from our mistake in not listening, we cry out for help. We all need to listen to the voice of God, some times his voice is soft and our selfish voice can be loud and the one that we want to hear, not his voice which is the one we need to hear. We must recognize that our wants are often just that, wants, but all knowing God knows what’s best for us and what our needs are. Listen to the word of the Lord, for the Lord is always right. We have to recognize this, otherwise the lesson we learn will be a tough one. Praise Jesus, Hallelujah to my King, and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  80. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
    Psalms 46:10 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.46.10.KJV

Have faith that it will get better. Trust that he will turn any situation into something good. Be still and know that he is lord. Its difficult letting things go, letting someone else take control. When we as humans tend to want to control all things in our lives. But what happens when we can no longer control those things, we still try to manipulate the situation and a lot of times we either lose grip or it gets worse. When we let our faith lead us though the situation usually resolves or becomes not so important. Because through faith we no longer have our eye on the problem we turn them towards the heaven. Faith is built upon trust and trust is built up through relationship. If your focused on you relationship with God then you won’t have to much time to focus on the uncontrollable.

  81. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

God might take care of us by nothing more than a board to hold on to, that keeps us safe till we get to the bank. But the main thing is. have faith that He’s going to bring us through.

  82. 42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

At first thought, the next action was to kill all of the prisoners. And as we’ve all heard before, “But God. . . “ But the centurion was willing to save Paul. In trusting in God and sticking to the faith and His belief, Paul not only saved himself but also the other prisoners by his actions. “But God. . . “. Had Paul denied God or just went along with whatever they wanted him to do, then he wouldn’t had lived through the incident. He wouldn’t have been able to save the lives of many others. He wouldn’t have been able to have been the testimony he showed to be. Be like Paul! Stick to your beliefs! Be a testimony! Be a witness!

  83. “And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The man who took care of Paul was…

    Julius—
    “soft-haired”

    A centurion—
an officer in the Roman army

    Augustus—
    reverend, venerable
the title of the Roman emperors
Augustan, i,e, taking its name from the emperor
a title of honour which used to be given certain legions, or cohorts, or battalions, “for valour”

    Band—
    a military cohort
    the tenth part of legion
    about 600 men i.e. legionaries
if auxiliaries either 500 or 1000
a maniple, or the thirtieth part of a legion
any band, company, or detachment, of soldiers

So the man who had Paul was a soft hair That was taking acre of Paul was a A man from the Roman royal army. He is placed to care for Paul. He was fair and just. He allowed Paul to have his friends to visit. He eventually learned to listen to Paul. Sometimes those that we find could be the most restrictive in our life might be placed their by God to ensure our safety.

  84. 18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

Sometimes in life we have to go through the storm to get to our blessings, Paul had to go through the storm for all the people to know that Paul had something special in his life and he found favor with them and God was going to use that later when he went before Caesar.
