Acts 19

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

  1. 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Im really on this kingdom first thing right now and this is just another example of the people getting a reality check. Look what they did they gathered their books and their arts together and melted them and burned them down and found the metal in this, valuable metal at this point silver was even more valuable than gold. Some of us got idols we treating more valuable than God and its time we put these things in the fire and watch God move. you see though the attributes of God are limitless we still need to make room for him to rule in our life. This is what makes our walk, so where do you stand today this very moment are you still setting things next to what should be highest in your life or are you putting God all the way up on the throne in your life and letting him provide the fire.

You provide the fire ill provide the sacrifice oh God.

  3. Paul was such an example of a servant: this word is applied to someone absolutely devoted to Jesus. Can this name be applied to us??? Can someone or anyone identify who you serve or what you believe??? Paul never let his current situation or his certain circumstance stop him from delivering the word of God to all who would lend an ear. Let us keep shining for Jesus through every situation and every circumstance, for we know who holds everything in His hands.

Joshua 24:15 AMP “If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” So let us be good servants as we LIVE-GIVE JESUS!

  4. He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Acts 19:2‭-‬6 KJV
There are still so many people out there that haven’t experience this precious gift there’s people who still haven’t been baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST let’s go and Tell the world about him

  5. 2. He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

    5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

    6. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

It takes more than just believing – you have to obey The Word…put wheels on your belief and take action!

    Romans 10:
    14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

    16. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

  6. Acts 19: 11-12 [ amp] And God did unusual and extraordinary mircles by the hands of Paul.
[12] So that handkerchiefs or towels or aprons which had touched his skin were carried away and put upon the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
Here Paul was used by God to produce mircles and healings for these people.
You never know when God will use you to do the same.
There power is Jesus! There are signs , wonders, and mircles is the power of the Holy Ghost!
Right now there are people being heal!
Thank you Jesus for your blood.

  7. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.
8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

Some are going to receive us and some are going to reject us. As ideal as It seems and would be nice to have, every person we speak to about the love of Jesus and the gospel of the truth it’s not going to receive it. Not everyone wants to know the truth just as the Bible tells us not everyone that says Lord Lord will be in heaven. The job of the church is not to teach people who will receive it but to teach All Nations at all times that whosoever will shall come. It is a joy to be able to teach the gospel 281 who is willing to hear it but we must be able to go through those that rejected. Everybody is given a chance to hear the gospel and the stand before God for that decision.

  8. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

One thing is for sure, if you are a child of God there will be enemies that will know who you are and what you are capable of doing. When you have the power of the Holy Ghost and you have not prayed or fasted or even prepared to go to battle with the spiritual attacks, you will not be able to overcome. Just like the disciples were defeated because they had not been as bold and prepared as Paul was. The scripture states it very carefully that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

If you dare to go to battle with out a strategy then you will be defeated. We have to make sure our altars are repaired and that our faith is restored and we will need to be bold in the Holy Ghost. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of the strongholds. We shall be over comets through the name of Jesus Christ. Living Jesus without hesitation and without any regrets will allow you to be victorious as long as the kingdom of God is first. Then everything else will be provided. Living Jesus is an honor but our motivation has to be for the right reasons. We have to be ready to give the souls that are ready to receive the good news that Jesus saves.

  9. Acts 19
8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.

Paul spoke boldly . We have to have an assurance of what we believe in order to speak boldly.

Ephesians 3:12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

In this entire chapter Pail approaches many and speaks with boldness. He is not fearful whether in a synagogue or while traveling and meets other disciples. His message was the same have you received the Holy Ghost and how were you baptized? Pray that God gives you boldness to serve in reaching others . How will they know unless we tell them.
God will and is leading us daily .

  10. God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.
Acts of the Apostles 19:11‭-‬12 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.19.11-12.NLT

This reminds me also of yesterday’s word Creativity. God is so creative in how He approaches situations. I love watching the Lord work, more so I love being a part of that work.

This power doesn’t just fall on Paul. This power is bestowed to us. All we have to do is submit ourselves as humble SERVANTS and have the FAITH to see it through.

We don’t know the special or unusual miracles that God will preform through us in this day. We cannot put borders around God’s work. We limit God when we do that. Let’s take the boundaries and limitations off, allow God to flood us with love, peace ,excitement and expectation so that we can reach the unreachable in new ways!! In Jesus name!!

  11. “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:5-6

What a wonderful day for these 12 Ephesian Men,
Not only did they get baptized but also received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. I still remember the feeling when for the first time I got the Holy Ghost, I couldn’t stop praying. My Dad had carry me to take me out of the church.
Through-out the years I lost that, I didn’t thought it was important to be fill with the Holy Ghost or yet speak daily in other tongues. I can count with my two hands the times I spoke in other tongues in 20 years. Sad story!!! Now I know how important it is to be filled with the Holy Ghost and speak in other tongues.

I encourage you today if you have not yet received the Holy Ghost and have not yet been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to make the decision to give your life to God today and be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues…. you will see your life change just like mine did.

  12. It is of great importance that the understanding of the word of God be correct. In 20 years I have listened to all the why’s and what if’s and is that necessary to last me a while. We must be overcomers and survive on this word of God. We must eat drink and sleep with God and his word. When this revelation got thru in the text we read today there was great power unleashed. I love the word.

  13. Acts 19:17 (AMP), “This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified and exalted.”

    “Fear Fell Upon Them All”
This verse reminded me of our Pray Every Day card. The very first paragraph says, “This day in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I loose the spirit of the Fear of the Lord to dwell upon every person in the Region of Fort Worth along with Tarrant and Surrounding Counties…”

We need to Pray that the Fear of the Lord will fall upon everyone living in, connected to, and surrounding Fort Worth, so that the name of the Lord JESUS will be magnified and exalted.

  14. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Wow! I learned something crazy today. As I read about this uproar over the goddess Diana, I wanted to know who this spirit was that would have the influence to shut down an entire city. As I started researching, I was a little surprised in what I found.

First of all, you are all going to be amazed. Second of all I’ve run outta time to share in detail, but I will share the foundation of an amazing discovery. Ok, This goddess Diana wasn’t a goddess of lust (as I first assumed), but she was a virgin. She was a protector of animals. You disrespect her fur babies and you shall pay the price. But that’s all y’all…guess who took her place in the 21st century? Y’all give up…OK, the Virgin Mary who stole Diana’s title for the “Mother of Heaven”. When Constantine took over, he changed Diana’s name to you guessed it, “Virgin Mary”.

Diana still lives in todays culture. If you think something couldn’t possibly happen in todays culture, I double dog dare you to go into Mexico and speak against the Virgin Mary…we’ll see if you make it out alive.

  15. “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/114/act.19.11-12.nkjv

Even though the items used to work miracles came from Paul’s body, GOD is the one who performed the miracles through Paul.

  16. 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

  17. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. The word of God is expanded as we leave the four walls of the church and live and give out the Gospel. We carry in each one of us the seeds of revival and we are seed planters as Paul and his companions were.

  18. 24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

For this man and the many who followed him it wasn’t even about the truth, for them it was about wealth and idolatry. Be careful what you value in life, who you value, and the priority in which you value them. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be ADDED unto you, not sought and gained by you. The Lord will always provide when and where He knows you have need.

  19. You do not need to memorize bible verses although it helps to show them that it is in the Bible. You don’t need to preach a whole lot of things, all you need to do is a simple question Have you receive the Holy Ghost since you believed?? Paul simplified everything to just that question! Depending of their answer the door is wide open to teach them. Thank you Jesus for 35+ years ago you sent a young person to knock on the door of my barracks and asked me that specific question. That same Sunday I was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost!!! No turning back!!!! Thank you Jesus for all you have done for me!!! You are so Awesome that you knew exactly where to find me. Oh how Majestic is My God Jesus Christ!!!

  20. Where is God?

17 It was soon news all over Ephesus among both Jews and Greeks. The realization spread that God was in and behind this. Curiosity about Paul developed into reverence for the Master Jesus. MSG

Where is God? Does He know what is going on in my life or are my prayers heard only by the wall? Is He near? How can we recognize when it’s God working in our life or it is just normal life events? Consider the testimony of Job.

God never explains to Job the reason for his suffering. In other words, it isn’t because God answers Job’s questions that Job is finally satisfied. In fact, God asks questions of His own: Where was Job when God laid the foundations of the earth? Can he bind the stars of the constellations? Job has challenged the Creator of the mind, but does he comprehend even the mind of the ostrich? Job confesses, “I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know”(Job 42:3).

Can we trust Him. Can we do that? Can we do it utterly, without reserve? Can we give up the ownership of ourselves, and transfer the title to God? If something in our heart is an obstacle — some fear, some pain, some pride — can we at least ask Him to remove it? Does our lives reveal that God is in our lives? Does our lives reveal that God is behind us and supporting our actions?

  21. 19:27 so that not only this our craft is in danger
To be set at nought but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised and her magnificent
Destroy whom all Asia and the world worship.
    —-
Where ever the Lord sends anointed men of God To preach the gospel , you bet, that there will be an EFFECT
In the natural and in the supernatural .Truth is revealed, revelation start to happen, strong holds are broken, and wicked ( evil) plans are destroyed.

  22. Acts 19:20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. So he sent in to Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season

II Thessalonians 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, even as it is with you:

As we keep spreading the WORD of God it will keep growing in power!!

  23. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Every man is given his time and chance to hear the gospel, then it is up to the hearer to decide whether he will believe or not. Paul persuades many with God’s word and all of Asia it says heard the word. As we live and give Jesus it will be up to the individual whether they believe or not. But before we testify we must lay down a foundation of prayer and fasting so the blind to the gospel can see and the deaf to the gospel hear and receive the salvation of the Lord.

  24. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    HAVE YOU HEARD

The phrase HAVE YOU HEARD is commonly known as the introduction of gossip. We learn the reason why here. It is the adversary satans attempt to mock the word of GOD.

I pray we Apostolic Believers would take this phrase back for The Kingdom of GOD. Go around asking people HAVE YOU HEARD about the Holy Ghost and the power of GOD?

    or

When people attempt to lure us into their nasty sin sick pool of gossip with that question. Immediately flip the question. When they say have you heard, immediately respond with NO, HAVE YOU HEARD what JESUS is doing.

Sharing the gospel or “GOOD News” with others is the most effective way to lead a soul to TRUTH about New Birth salvation. As we witness here, it all began with a question and a response. Often evangelism is approached with the attitude of “I know more than you” or “let me tell you what I know”.

I challenge The POFW to implement the question HAVE YOU HEARD to conversations about JESUS and his Gospel. We will be witness to multitudes responding with a hinger for the WORD of GOD and TRUTH and the disciples will be multiplied in HIS church; including our family and friends.

  25. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

God always wants us to go deeper. We tend to sip where we could drink deeply; we drink deeply where we could wade in, and we wade in where we could plunge in and swim. Most of us need to be encouraged to go deeper and further into the things of the Holy Spirit.

  26. “And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19: 10
Revival will spread everywhere. To those that are far off to those that are close. The endtimes are here. The Lord is Knocking. All will hear the gospel, every nation will hear about the name of Jesus. Nobody can stop that

  27. In this chapter we are still folk Paul as he is going around and telling everybody about Jesus. Then he gets to this one town Ephesus, he asked the people if they had revived the Holy Ghost and they said that they had not heard of such thing. Then he asks them if they had been baptized in Jesus name. They were baptized in James name. Then they were soon baptized in Jesus name. Everyone thought Paul was crazy. They worshiped the God of Diana. A man had an evil spirit and 7 men were with him. The Evil spirit jumped on them and they ran away. After that happens people began to see that there was something different about Paul. They people soon started believing in Jesus and Pail told them all about him.

  28. They are still following Paul praying with he ask if they did the three things they though that he was speaking evle spirit he jumped on them
They can learn more about Paul
I learned that you should pray for people in the world

  29. Act 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
Act 19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
Act 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Act 19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

Just like the instance in this chapter where the Jews were using the name of JESUS, hoping to get the same results as Paul and the disciples, the enemy will not be far away from us when signs, wonders and miracles begin to happen. The devil always has an imitation, but cannot deliver the goods as the Lord can. These Jews had no power to act upon when they used the name of Jesus.

It takes both the power (Holy Ghost) and the name of Jesus to accomplish things in the Spirit world. Many people say they have the Holy Ghost (power) but they don’t have the name (Baptism in Jesus Name) therefore, they don’t possess what it takes to overcome the enemy, and just like today’s chapter, their efforts some times does more harm than good. The imps know when the power and the name are not applied together and as we see today the imps called the men out saying “say Jesus I know, Paul I know, but who are you?

As we continue in 40 days of Fire, now is the time to tank up the Holy Ghost, so the when situations arise in our lives, or the lives of others, and God wants to use us to minister to the needs of others we have the power and the name of Jesus to accomplish the task.

  30. 11 God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. 12 When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.

We know the handkerchiefs had no power, its just a piece of cloth. But God gave Paul power to perform miracles. And in times, when people could not reach or see Paul, the handkerchiefs were used. The handkerchiefs through the power/anointing of God, and faith of individuals would heal them. Always keep the faith in God.

  31. There were seven men that tried to talk to the evil spirit. The evil spirit didn’t know who they were, he knew who Jesus and Paul was. It’s important to have a good relationship with God, so the enemy knows who you are.

  32. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Paul was ready to give the people the truth. He came prepared to baptize them in the name of Jesus and for them to receive the Holy Ghost. We cannot be ashamed to declare who Jesus is. The world must know about this gospel and what God wants us to do. Continue to press forward and allow God to use you everyday.

  33. Acts 19

  34. So in Acts Chapter 19 verse 1 it’s says that Paul was sailing through the upper coasts trying to find certain disciples but the Apollos were coming to pass then in verse 2 it’s saying that have you Been baptized in the name of Jesus and have you been baptized in the name of the Holy Ghost and many people have not heard of any Holy Ghost then in verse 3 it’s telling me about Johns Baptism then in Verse 4 it’s telling me is that Paul believed in these people and that these people needed to be baptized with repentance and that they should come after Jesus himself then in Verse 5 they were baptized in the name of Jesus

  35. Acts 19
Paul went to Ephesus and had asked the disciples if they had received the Holy Spirit. They said no, they only had baptism by John. John’s baptism was of repentance. Paul told them about Jesus, and they were baptized in Jesus name and they received the Holy Spirit. God had miracles go through Paul, that people were healed through aprons and handkerchiefs that touched the sick. Also evil spiriits had left them due to being anointed from God. Some Jews used the name of Jesus Christ and they tried to get rid of evil spirits. Since they were not baptized in Jesus name and never received the Holy Spirit, they were powerless. Only our one true God can anoint us with healing power. We must be baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Spirit! Thank you Jesus for this!

  36. Acts 19:35-41 KJV
“And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter? Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess. Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another. But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly. For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse. And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.”

Once again, we are reminded that Paul, even while he was in captivity, he still was busy preaching the Gospel. I’m not sure I could be as bold as Paul, but I pray that God would equip me to be bold in these uncertain times.

    #liveJesus. #giveJesus

  37. ‘And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. ‘ Acts 19:6

Action. Paul had put his faith in ACTION. He laid his hands, he moved from one position to the next.

James 2:14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

James 2:17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

When we LIVE and GIVE Jesus we are putting our Faith into ACTION!

  38. v 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Every thing we need we find in His Name….The name of Jesus is above every name.
We can ask anything in His name and confidently receive the answer.

  39. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Whenever we pray we must also prophesy and speak those things that we want to see come to pass into existence because god has given us the power to call things as if they were, just like proverbs 18:21 says.

  40. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The Living Bible
    vs 11-12
    vs-11
And God gave Paul the power to do unusual miracles
    vs-12
so that even when the handkerchiefs or parts of his clothing were placed upon sick people they were healed and any demons within them came out.
    Extraordinary miracles
In the ancient world Ephesian writings was a common term for books on magic spells. The dark domination of peoples minds by the occult may explain why God demonstrated His powers by working miracles through Paul.

  41. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Repent be baptized in the name of Jesus and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

  42. Acts 19:1 “And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:”

As followers of Christ, we have all said “use me Lord.” However, we tend to want to pick and choose how God uses us. We tend to be quick to volunteer for the glamorous assignments or task that need to be completed. I can’t think of one person who would say no to Jesus, when asked to be the one he uses to bring forth great miracles.

We would all love to be Paul–one day killing those who dare serve/preach of God and hailing him King of all instead of him (a life of sin and destruction)—to the very person who God uses to perform miracles (saved and heaven bound). A modern day spin on the rags to riches story.

But the problem is, we only focus on the beginning and the end of Paul’s journey. We tend to sweep over the journey Saul took to become Paul. Why???— because how many of us really want to sign up for what Paul sacrificed in his life after God saved him?

1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus….

Paul traveled the land, and not the type of travel we have today? Traveling in those days were often by foot, overworked mules and it your were lucky by some type of cart that would not even come close to passing safety standard of today’s times—and that was by land. If he traveled by boat–he wasn’t on some fancy cruise ship. Lets just say that the worst of what we have today—is still leaps and bounds above what Paul had to work with. Yet he WENT!!!

Scholars believe that Paul completed most of his missionary trips by foot. It is believed that he walked a total of 12,400 miles during these trips. That’s basically him walking from New York to California round trip two times.

Going wasn’t easy, sure he had times were he came across people who had a hunger and desire to know more of Jesus (Acts 19:2-7) (Acts 28:17-25) but he also spent a months at at time in the synagogue “and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.” I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time auguring with stupid for more then two seconds. (Jesus is still working with me) But in order to argue of behalf of the kingdom–he had to know God’s word.

I guess to summarize my point, Paul gave ALL of himself–so he could be used by God. Its hard–especially in this day and age were life has so much more to say no to, but we must if it is our true desire to be used as Paul was used.
The journey isn’t always going to be glamours, but it will always be blessed.
If you find yourself struggling–take a moment to compare what you are giving in the world– to having a front row seat the miracles of God—it won’t even come close.

  43. “This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord.

So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:10, 20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There’s a message that we must get out to the world. The Word of God must increase within us first and then to those around us. Then miracles will begin to happen in people’s lives. We will see souls saved. Increase the Word in your life! Let Jesus out and we will see miracles signs and wonders.

“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But the word of God grew and multiplied.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭KJV‬

  44. Hechos 19:35-41

  45. “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:5‬ ‭KJV

The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭MSG‬‬

These disciples didn’t know about Jesus baptism and through Paul sharing with them the Word of God, they listened. They were baptized and received the Holy Ghost. The choice to listen has to be one’s own. We can’t force anyone to listen but we can go and share His Word with others. By sharing His Word, we are sowing seeds for God to work with. We aren’t the One who saves but the ones who are here to share.

I thank God for each and every soul bold enough to share His Word with others. I pray we follow His instruction to go and teach all nations!

  46. “This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified and exalted. Many of those who had become believers were coming, confessing and disclosing their [former sinful] practices. And many of those who had practiced magical arts collected their books and [throwing book after book on the pile] began burning them in front of everyone. They calculated their value and found it to be 50,000 pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ] was growing greatly and prevailing.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:17-20‬ ‭AMP‬‬

When the name of the Jesus is magnified; those hiding in sin will be delivered, backsliders will return home and the lost will receive the revelation of His greatness!

We must magnify the Name of Jesus with our own words, everywhere we go.

  47. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

    Amen

  48. Being a servant in the kingdom of God is an essential part of reaching others. Through our servitude we show how the gifts operate in us and give strength to our witness and the unity of the church. As we all act as servants we can more easily help those around us and the areas we serve in. This is what the phrase is reference to when we serve in ministry it is speaking to how we must in the role put the ministry before all things whether it is a small or large task in our mind it all works together to serve truly. The mission of Christ and followers was to serve, all equally trying to reach and help.

  49. 1. And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2. He said unto them , Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3. And he said unto them , what then were ye baptized? And they said , Unto John’s baptism.

  50. He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

It is okay to ask someone who goes to church if they have the Holy Ghost. You never know they may not have or my not understand what it is.
God needs men and women who are willing to reach for other people to give them Jesus.
They said we don’t even know what the holy Ghost is so Paul told them about Jesus and they received the Holy Ghost.
Who is waiting for us to tell them about Jesus.

  51. At this their anger boiled, and they began shouting, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” Soon the whole city was filled with confusion. Everyone rushed to the amphitheater, dragging along Gaius and Aristarchus, who were Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia.
    Acts 19:28‭-‬29 NLT

When we hang around the wrong people it can lead us to be angry . We can be lead in the wrong direction and cause confusion in our life. We can find ourselves fighting for the wrong reasons.
Lets choose our company wisely and be with people that not only speak truth and life but that will make you better.

  52. “And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/59/act.19.26.esv

We all need to be more like Paul! Bold in the spirit, I love that Paul didn’t back down to the enemy and on the time he was in many people were not even Christians but he was bold enough to stand up against false Gods and tell others about the word of God! Be bold! In Jesus name!

  53. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Many even today confuse the issue of speaking in tongues. Some believe that speaking in tongues is a gift and only some have that gift.

But reading closely in this passage it is clear, that when Paul asked the believers about there conversion experience, he asked about two things. water – baptism and Holy Ghost – speaking in tongues. It’s the Formula Jesus talked about in John 3:5. He asked this because they are essential to salvation.

That is why Paul took upon himself to re-baptize them and lay hands on them WITH the purpose of them receiving the HG, how by hearing speak in tongues.

  54. 27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

Whom the whole world worshippeth?? Is that true? I would say not at all. Yet how many times are people pulled and steered with what the world is doing? This was a complete lie but people will tell you this or that; every one is doing this or that. The last days are upon us. And yes much talk throughout the years we have heard of the last days but in order to stand with what is True there is only one way, Jesus. You must search out the truth search Him out to know him and know his ways.
Jesus told us in the scriptures that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

  55. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

  56. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

The word of God will always prevail against all that rises against it. As we read in this chapter we see how a sorcerer tried to imitate the Power of God, and ended up defeated and ran off. When we are filled with the word of God and let God use us, we are able to do wonders and miracles as Paul did. I pray that we seek and fill our souls with the word of God and share it to those around us.

  57. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
    Luke 22:26‭-‬27 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.22.26-27.KJV

Jesus doesn’t sit down and take from us we give to him freely and serve him and in return serves us. Its a cycle. Just like the rain falls giving to the earth and is served back up through the air and then is served back to the earth. If you think about it a lot of cycles work this way and is actually a very natural way of working. So being a servant of the Kingdom , to God, to the man of God, to the church, or to people in general should be easy. Right?

  58. What do I need to clean out and burn…

    1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
[17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

It’s impossible to be the temple of the Holy Ghost and keep active in Holy Ghost if you’re if the house is full of curious arts/books; magical arts; jugglery practised by the Ephesian conjurers. Ephesus was noted for its wizard and the “Ephesian spells;” i.e., charms or scraps of parchment written over with certain formula, which were worn as a safeguard against all manner of evils. The more important and powerful of these charms were written out in books which circulated among the exorcists, and were sold at a great price.

    Luke 16:13 KJV
[13] No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

    Acts 19:2 KJV
[2] He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

    Acts 19:19 KJV
[19] Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men : and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

  59. “And he went into the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and arguing and persuading them about the kingdom of God.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Paul was determined to reach the lost and bring them into the kingdom of god. He was never ashamed or got discouraged. He continued to remain bold and preach the truth about Jesus. As Christians it may seem that no one is hearing but we must realize that we have to be like Paul and remain bold and continue to witness to them because they will come to the kingdom of god. Let’s not loose hope let’s continue to keep the faith.

  60. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

One of the greatest things we can pray over this region and over people that do not know God is that their ears would be open to the gospel and heart ready to receive what they hear. God know that many people believe they know God and they have some type of relationship with him. Yet they do not know Him in the way we do. They have not been baptized and they do not have the Holy Ghost. They do not live a holy overcoming life unto God.

We must pray over them and use wisdom to lead them into deeper understanding

  61. ““If Demetrius and the craftsmen have a case against them, the courts are in session and the officials can hear the case at once. Let them make formal charges. And if there are complaints about other matters, they can be settled in a legal assembly.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:38-39‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/act.19.38-39.nlt

We can’t fight for without evidence
As Christian we need to backup our words with the Bible and stand firmly
In what we trust so we can’t be lost and confused.

  62. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

One of our responsibilities is to preach and teach, that the Holy Ghost is for everyone. Today in this world we have so many believers in Christ, but not believers in the Holy Ghost. So we must teach them that if they want it, they can receive it. It is all up to them to believe and receive it. We must share this with everyone.

  63. How do you great each other?

“He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Asking someone how they are doing is sometimes a trap. You may be there all day listening to every problem you could think of. Every time I read this scripture I am reminded about the missionary from China that came to our church a while back. He said they greeted one another with “ How many souls have you won today? “ What an awesome greeting. If we could do this it would change the culture around us to an effect that we have never seen before. Let us be bold in witnessing but not make it complicated. Have you received the Holy Ghost? Simple but more effective than anything we could think of.

    iBelieve

  64. Acts 19:1-7

The Holy Spirit brings us life and it leads us. God breathes His Spirit into us in order that we might come alive to the knowledge of His presence. The Spirit brings us to life, and then it leads the way.

I came that they may have life,
and may have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

  65. “God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These Scriptures means that, God gave Paul power to do miracles, signs, and wonders. Through The Power Of The Holy Spirit.

  66. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

After the people saw this they knew Jesus was real and worshipped him

  67. “Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:18-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

All those that believe, and trust In thee God. Let us not be ashamed for you are with us and who can stand against. No weapons against us shall prosper, but you O Lord shall forever be the everlasting father. Let us turn from all sin. We burn all our sins in your fire and we rejoice for we are set free and reborn. We are the vessels, we will do the will of God and spread His word widely for it is so. Glory be to God!

  68. 32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

Don’t get confused with what this world says. People will believe whatever they hear whether true or not. We must always speak of God and speak the truth. Knowing him and his word will lead us to the truth of whatever is spoken.

  70. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Paul was prepared to speak the word of God to the people and prepared to baptize them all, and ready for them to receive the gift of the holy ghost. We need to spread the word of God everyday, and be prepared for God to use us. I pray that we all pray that the Lord uses in mighty ways, and i pray that we all pray for all those living in sin right now, and that we help them fall into the word of God.

  71. 20 In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

But the word of God continued to spread and flourish. Acts 12:24

  72. 29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

As people of God they were not together in unity in the way that they were thinking, confusion had already setup in there minds and that’s when things weren’t going good. Since they were not in unity it was easy for the enemy to slip in and get them to talk about things that shouldn’t be talked about and even though they knew that wasn’t what should’ve been done it was done because they weren’t in unity. That’s what we should be looking for in us we should be evaluating what we have inside and see if we’re talking like Jesus would or thinking like Jesus. Because the moment we stop think and talking like Jesus everything else will fall apart and there will no unity and over all confusion

  73. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Be full of the Holy Ghost and full of faith when we challenge the devil like this.

  74. “But as you have seen and heard, this man Paul has persuaded many people that handmade gods aren’t really gods at all. And he’s done this not only here in Ephesus but throughout the entire province!”(‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

  75. 5 As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues[b] and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

This is the beauty of seeing souls get baptized right after they have heard the gospel. I love to hear Bro. Smith talk about baptism and see souls getting baptized. It’s a joy to see souls be cleansed and give their life to God. Even though the journey may not be easy but God is there with us and in us. He knows our needs and He loves us like no one else. Thank you Jesus for have giving me the opportunity to know you.

  76. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.
8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

It amazes me the faith of these men, “. . . When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” They were just told the ways and word of John the Baptist and took it at face value and agreed to do it themselves. But not only that but they also, “. . . the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” Paul is a very powerful figure to look up to. He was so confident and BOLD!!! We can’t all say that we would do what he did, “. . . spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.” Some say they do, however, do their actions match their words??!? Do your actions match your words?? Do you know what you stand for? Are you confident in your Faith? Are you Bold in Him?? Step back and evaluate yourself! Be confident and be bold! Be a woman/man of Faith!!

  77. Paul preached but not everyone would take him serious. It took a serious mishap for people to believe him that God is real and people needed to be baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Spirit.

Paul didn’t give up on people who refused to believe in God and the Holy Spirit and we should either. Lord use me to do your will and not mine.

  78. “But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul continued through adversity until everyone heard. This pushing through allowed for God to use him in a mighty way. God performed special miracles through Paul because he knew that Paul would continue to listen and obey through hardships and Rejection.
