Acts 16

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

36 And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

38 And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

39 And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

40 And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

  1. Act 16:18  And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
Act 16:19  And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
Act 16:20  And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

The ways of the Lord are not the ways of this world. When I think back to when I was out of my mind and after everything but Jesus I too would’ve been one of those who persecuted. We can’t hold grudges to people’s ignorance because that’s really all it is ignorance. We pray for those people and intercede for those people because God can change their life’s just as fast as he changed yours or mine or anybody else’s. We need a church that can lean on the father and trust in him in times of persecution. Remember let his will be done!

  2. Thank you Jesus Christ for today, thy kingdom come thy will be done . Let us pray without ceasing no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Lets submit to God gladly hallelujah !!!!!

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

  3. Verses 37-40 MSG “But Paul wouldn’t budge. He told the officers, “They beat us up in public and threw us in jail, Roman citizens in good standing! And now they want to get us out of the way on the sly without anyone knowing? Nothing doing! If they want us out of here, let them come themselves and lead us out in broad daylight.” When the officers reported this, the judges panicked. They had no idea that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens. They hurried over and apologized, personally escorted them from the jail, and then asked them if they wouldn’t please leave the city. Walking out of the jail, Paul and Silas went straight to Lydia’s house, saw their friends again, encouraged them in the faith, and only then went on their way.” Paul could have made a bigger ruckus; but, he knew that was not the time, the place or in the plan. We must not allow our surroundings to dictate or lead us away from the plan of God. We must refrain from the desires of what our flesh wants to do and align it with what God wants us to do.

Titus 2:12 AMP “It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age,”. LIVE-GIVE JESUS!

  4. Acts 16:25-26 KJV
“ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

It amazes me what praise will do!!! God loves to hear our praises. Sometimes when life has overwhelmed me, it’s a struggle to praise: but there is something our praises, He loves!

    The flowers in the field
    Burst forth with blooming
    And the wind seems
    To whisper He’s alive
Even the trees lift their branches
    High to the heavens above
    In perfect harmony
With the Creator of the world

    But there’s just something
    About my praise He loves
    There’s just something
About the way I speak his name Jesus
    All the hosannas and hallelujahs
Are sung to Him by the angels above
But there’s something about my praise
There’s just something about my praise
    He loves

    I Peter 2:9 KJV
    “ 1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:”

  5. 18. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

    19. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

These guys just witnessed a miracle and demonstration of power, but were only interested in the money that she had made them.
We can’t be too focused on the carnal to miss what’s Spiritually going on that really matters.

  6. Acts 16 : 31 [ amp] And they answered , Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ [ give yourself up to Him ,
Take yourself out of your own keeping and entrust yourself into His keeping] and you will be saved.
[ and this applies both to] you and your household as well.
Believe and have victory in Jesus!
There is hope in Jesus , Declare his Word!
    Live Jesus , Give Jesus.

  7. “Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas. That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭16:6-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some time in the begging of this year my Husband and I we were on our way to home from a re-visit and we where going to stop at Cracker Barrel to have breakfast there and for some reason we missed the exit and exit the following exit to turn around, but I saw the McDonald crossing the bridge and I said: Babe let’s just go to McDonald’s it’s much faster since We still had a lot of things to do. Our plan was to go do the drive-thru and I told Albert you know just park I have to wash my hands, so as I enter the ladies room, I bump to a employee and i said hello, how are you and as soon as I said how are you she began to cry and I left in my heart to hug her, so I ask her if I can, she said yes and I began to ask her if she believed in Jesus, she said she was catholic and that she no longer was a believer of it because the priest never talk about the truth of God. So I began to tell her about Jesus as we step out of the restroom and I ask her if it was ok if my husband and I pray for her, I called Albert and we began to pray for her. After we finish she said I was asking God to send someone to tell me about Jesus.

What I am trying to tell you by this testimony is that God sometimes takes you on a different direction that is not in your plans, like He did with Paul and Silas.
And we have to be sensitive to the spirit of God. It would’ve being easy for us to go where we wanted to go, but God had something else in mind for us that day.

After we left McDonald, I began to remember one of many testimonies from Bro. Guy. We began to to feel God’s presence in the car. From that day on we learn that we as servants of Jesus are to be open for God’s directions in every step we are to go. Nothing happens just because!

    GIVE . LIVE. JESUS

Give hope to the lost souls
Live following the foot steps of Jesus
Jesus use us for the work of Your Kingdom

  8. Acts 16

4-5 As they traveled from town to town, they presented the simple guidelines the Jerusalem apostles and leaders had come up with. That turned out to be most helpful. Day after day the congregations became stronger in faith and larger in size.

    Titus 2
12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,(A) and to live self-controlled,(B) upright and godly lives(C) in this present age,

    Prayer
    Word
    Fasting
Separation from the things of this world
    Evangelism
    Fellowship with other believers

The simple guidelines and the church grew stronger.
How easy to step right into this wonderful message the Apostles were preaching. Young and old , from every walk of life was being converted . As I watched the joy of the Holy Ghost being poured into my friends last night it was so easy and they were so eager to receive and believe that God had something grandeur for them. And He did . One simple invitation to experience what we have been given . And the Apostles presented the simple guidelines and the church grew and became stronger. God help us just to follow after the simple guidelines. Help us to share what You have given to us as the Apostles did . Daily. Lead us Clothe is with Your presence in Jesus name …

  9. 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

  10. 37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
38 And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

I have come across many Christian friends level leave in their heart of hearts they were supposed to just allow people to mistreat them because of their faith and then chocolate up as persecution. What bothers me is that nowhere in the Bible does it say that we are supposed to be doormats and just allow people to walk all over us and mistreat us. It does tell us how to respond to persecution but does not say we are not allowed to stand our ground on certain matters. Paul examples what it means to stand your ground and yet allow persecution. He didn’t fight back when they wanted to beat him and shame him for preaching the gospel but he would not let them off the hook knowing that what they did was wrong. Christians must be United and strong together to stand firm on the gospel with boldness

  11. Paul’s boldness in the Holy Ghost is admirable. I really like the way he thinks his way happy no matter where he is at. Here he is singing praises to God after being whipped in front of everyone and put in the deepest part of the jail. They still have the energy to sing Praises to God. No matter the situation or place Praise God above all and watch Him open up the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing!! Hallelujah! Our God is good! What we do after the gates of the prison open is what determines our character. Did you flee or did you stay with the jailer. Paul and Silas stayed and it was that specific action that wins the jailer to Christ, but not only him but his whole house. They washed their stripes and treated them so they may healed. Paul’s boldness when told he was free is what wow me. He doesn’t tuck tail and go but he makes sure that he told them that how dare them whipped them publicly and free them privately after all they’re Romans. So they had to free them publicly. I am honest put in that predicament I would of tuck tail and go, thanking God for freeing me. But Paul made a statement by making them free them publicly. Thank you Jesus for such an example of courage and faith. Anoint is from The Pentecostals of Fort Worth to have the same boldness, courage, and Faith!!!

  12. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

    11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

  13. God is so good! I am a living example of how good God is. In our text today it is a perfect example of doing the right thing. When the prison doors were opened and the chains loosed our flesh would say run and your free. Paul and Silas were filled with the spirit and they knew better. So by choosing the right thing all good things followed and Lydias house also became filled with Holy Ghost. Go God go!

  14. Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. Don’t push to go where God’s not ready to take you. God’s timing is perfect and sometimes we have to wait because God is preparing us and preparing where we are going so it receives all that God has given us for them. Wait on the Lord for those things, but just as Paul was quickly redirected, we should not sit idle. There is so much to be done in the Kingdom of God!

  15. “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.”

Miracles happen when you shake the foundation with praise!!

  16. 14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

The key to Lydia receiving Paul’s teaching on Jesus was that the Lord opened her heart and then she received it. Then she was converted. If God can open the heart (and he will), then our 10 to win who we pray for can certainly receive this doctrine too. Keep praying for your loved ones, asking God to open their hearts. It’s not his will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. It’s harvest time!

  17. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Act 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

This girl was possessed by demons and owned by men (masters). She was completely trapped and had no way of escape until a man named Paul came to town. He simply turned around and rebuked the spirit that had ownership of this girl. He didn’t ask for permission to pray with her, he didn’t ask any questions, he just spoke the Word. This of course would have dire consequences for Paul and Silas, but they did not care, because in the end, it would be the stepping stone that would lead to the jailers salvation.

  18. Not that way

6-7 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord let’s us know that God has given directions as to the we should live in this world. How do we know when He the way is blocked by God or is a test/trial that we should persevere to overcome? Having a relationship with God is the only way. I have spent too long standing at a door knocking doing what was is written in the Bible. However, the door remained closed. Why?

Without a relationship with God we cannot know His will for our lives. That door was locked because it was not the right time in my life. Everything God wants us to know is found within its pages of His word. Every situation you can think of God has given direction as to how we should respond and deal with them. All we have to do is read and study God’s Word!

  19. “It happened that as we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave-girl who had a spirit of divination [that is, a demonic spirit claiming to foretell the future and discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners a good profit by fortune-telling. She followed after Paul and us and kept screaming and shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!” She continued doing this for several days. Then Paul, being greatly annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit [inside her], “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ [as His representative] to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:16-18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

One thing that I noticed in this passage was the slave girl was telling the truth. So on the surface it seemed as if it was a good thing, but it was very misleading. It would seem like it was free advertisement, but she seem to have been doing it out of spite and to annoy the disciples. And most of all she was a distraction, which is very misleading to what it looked like on the surface. Which is a lot like the serpent in the garden. The serpent spoke some truth with a little bit of lies. I think we call those white lies. In reality there’s no such thing as white lies, a lie is a lie. The serpent was very misleading. As a Christian we must strive to tell the full truth. Not just enough truth to make ourselves look good or enough truth not to get ourselves in trouble. Let’s not be like Adam and Eve in the garden and play the blame game, “she made me do it“ or “the serpent made me do it“. Just be brave and tell the whole truth because partial truth and partial lie is still a lie and very misleading.

  20. Acts 16:9-10
    9) And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
    10) And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

The verse that came to mind as I read this was Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish:…”
    BUT
Paul Had A Vision! And because of it, he went to Macedonia and Preached the Gospel. Lydia and her household were Baptized; a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination was delivered and set free from it; and the keeper of the prison and all his house were Baptized and believed in God.

    LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS

  21. 14 One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying. 15 She and her household were baptized, and she asked us to be her guests. “If you agree that I am a true believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my home.” And she urged us until we agreed.

A simple bible study on the spot is all it takes. We don’t have to pressure someone to believe in God, a simple testimony and explanation is all it takes. Many are hungry for the Word, and just want someone to explain it. In turn, another lost soul is saved.

  22. On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had gathered there. One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying. She and her household were baptized, and she asked us to be her guests. “If you agree that I am a true believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my home.” And she urged us until we agreed. Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.
Acts of the Apostles 16:13‭-‬15‭, ‬30‭-‬34 NLT
Paul told people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere he went some people listen like the woman in the story and the man and some people don’t like the crowd in this chapter but this unique woman listen it was baptized immediately don’t hold back you never know who’s listen , you never know who’s needs it

  23. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

When you pray to the Lord Jesus Christ it can change your situations.

  24. 16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

There is one thing that is known while you are living for God, that is the demons and old satan know who you are. Just like Paul with the damsel with the spirit of divination. They knew he was a servant of the most high god. When you live right and pray, the devils will tremble at the presence of the Holy Ghost when they encounter you. I can say that without a doubt that they know God because of the time they spent in heaven but as a third of the heavenly host was cast out with Lucifer for rebellion. They truly know God.

They want to attack us and try to convince us that we are not worthy of the glory of God. We are not worthy of the love of God and we should just leave the church and fade away. I am persuaded that Jesus gave us the power when he defeated death, hell, and the grave. We have to be like Paul, we have to have boldness to cast out division and false doctrine and move the kingdom of God forward. We have to be able to stand on the foundation of the word of God with out any hesitation to battle the enemy. Living for God is the only way to be assured that when we step into glory for judgement we will hear well done thou good and faithful servant.

  25. “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So many opportunities to doubt God, to say well I guess God has forsaken us now, but being rooted in His Word they prayed and praised. I believe Paul and Silas had the mindset of the three Hebrew boys – God can deliver us from this prison or He can let us die here but no matter what He is still God. This chapter aligns so well with what David Smith preached last night, Don’t Panic and Don’t Run. Sure we may get bruised and beaten along the way, but He is still God. We are never alone, He sees every tear and hears every cry and He’s always fighting for us.

I thank God for being faithful and for being our Assurance. I know I won’t let a rock cry out in my place, so I pray we give Him our best praise today!

  26. 16:14. One of them was Lydia from Tiatita a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who was worshiping God, heard us
: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

    ——-
And this is my prayer for me and everyone else on every church service.
For the Lord to open our hearts , and give us the understanding of the word being preached.
That we may be blessed and be able to bless others with the same revelation given to unto us.
🙏 the Lord 👉 saw at Lydias heart. And went beyo g with her.
God is good and merciful, blessed be His name.
    I repent
I worship in spirit and in truth.
    The Lord is good.
    🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🔥.

  27. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

  28. Acts 16:9,10
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

2 Corinthians 2:13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia. Now thanks be in to God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

The Holy Spirit will always lead us where and who to preach the Gospel.

  29. Act 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
Act 16:10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

There’s been a phrase ringing over in my spirit the past two days “Shut out the noise to hear my voice.” There are so many voices in our lives on a daily basis, that we must do all we can do to shut the noises out and hear the voice of the Lord for the day, for the week, for the month, for our lives.

Paul sensitive to the spirit saw in a vision a man praying and asking God to send someone to him. Thus, Paul followed the spirit and went to Macadonia to share Jesus. This is a great example of LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS.

We must shut the noise out of our lives so that we can hear when Jesus is telling us to give Him to someone around us. With the world in the state that it is currently, there are hungry people everywhere. Not hungry for more of this world, but hungry for something that will change their life.

We, being filled with the holy ghost and power, have what they are looking for. We must train ourselves to make the first move, open the door, be bold and find something in common with that individual to share JESUS with them. They might be the one asking God for a divine appointment that day.

  30. 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

It is so important in today’s world that we reach out to the lost and dying in this world and to spend the truth to them because there are so many people who are headed to hell and it’s our mission that is given to us by god to save them from an eternity in hell and point them towards Christ and heaven.

  31. “She continued doing this for several days. Then Paul, being greatly annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit [inside her], “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ [as His representative] to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.

The crowd also joined in the attack against them, and the chief magistrates tore their robes off them and ordered that Paul and Silas be beaten with rods.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:18, 22‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In doing the work of the Lord Paul was still beaten and thrown into jail. Despite all the lies that were made against Paul he never lost his character. Instead while bound up he continued praying and doing the work of the lord reaching the lost. When we got saved it was never said it was going to be easy. We must remember that we have to hold on to our faith and never loose our character. Hold strong and continue doing the work of the lord.

  32. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE MIDNIGHT CRY

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Midnight is often referred to as the darkest hour, but it is also the changing of days. If we could exercise our privilege and faith to PRAY and PRAISE in our darkest hour, we would witness greater demonstrations of supernatural power from GOD.

Midnight – 1: the middle of the night specifically : 12 o’clock at night
2 : deep or extended darkness or gloom

Most if us can relate to the “extended darkness or gloom part of the definition. My observation is that the church (people) have become more interested in the Midnight (problem) than the Praise (solution).

Seeking and finding a “positive” in the darkness is important to our future victories. When the entire situation is dark: Praise GOD for what HE has done or what you desire HIM to do.

THE MIDNIGHT CRY led to deliverance and salvation for others, we are often so focused on our darkness that we fail to share the LIGHT of JESUS with those around us in the same situation.

The jailer and his house were Born Again of the water and Spirit as the result of the disciples MIDNIGHT CRY.

GOD has placed people around us each day that they may hear and witness our response to a similar darkness. Do you fall victim to the darkness and join the complaining, gloom and doom, or do you become the beacon of Light and Hope in Christ Jesus that our world needs.

  33. I learned that Paul had a dream to go to Macedonia 🇲🇰 and when he woke up he went to Macedonia 🇲🇰

Happy 😊 30th day of 40 day of the fire 🔥

Don’t give up we’re almost there

    11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

Paul saw a vision and he immediately went he didn’t finish doing what he was doing he immediately went to Macedonia we need to do that if someone tells us to do something we need to do it immediately

  35. I Love To Worship The Lord
    ( 16-3)
    Timothy circumcised
Timothy is the young apprentice of Paul to whom two N. T. letters are addressed. Paul has been criticized for his compromise in having Timothy circumcised. But in Jewish law a child is of the faith of its mother and Timothys mother was Jewish. Pauls purpose was to. remove a barrier that would have kept Timothy from ministering effectively to Jews not because circumcsion had to do with salvation.

  36. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

It is important, that even in the darkest hours of our lives, we find something to rejoice about.

“I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Joy is a mindset. We can choose to wallow in self-pity, or we can choose to praise and think ourselves happy!

  37. “Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭16:30-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This is how God wants our lives to be: Natural magnets drawing people to Him. Our Holy Ghost should make others want what we have with God.

  38. Acts 16
Paul and Silas were beaten and flogged and thrown into prison as they were witnessing to others about our Lord. As they were praying and singing to our God at midnight, an earthquake shook the prison and the chains were loosed and the prison doors came open. The jailor was about to take his life thinking Paul and Silas escaped but Paul intervened and the jailor asked how to be saved. They went home with the jailor and he and his whole household were saved. We never know when God will step in and change our situation. What a blessing for the jailor and his family. TRUST IN THE LORD!!!! We must all be strong and as a church family pull together with God!

  39. ‘They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. ‘
    Acts of the Apostles 16:31-33

We know from the chapter, that it was late. It was around midnight when the earthquake happened. Yet, even after all that was going on around Paul and Silas they take the time to help the one jailer, and ultimately his household.

Jesus will leave the 99 to find the one. We never know the true impact we have when we reach just one person. I pray we don’t get too busy or caught up in our own agendas, that we miss the one impact that would change generations.

Living for Jesus isn’t a set of hours that you punch the time card and clock out. Living for Jesus has no limit, it is a lifestyle. Living Jesus creates a characteristic that you can then GIVE to others.

  40. 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

May we be strengthen in faith during this 40 days of fire and continue to reach for those around us–even during this current pandemic.

  41. 9. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night, There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over unto Macedonia, and help us. 10. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel unto them. 11. Therefore loosing fro Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolitan; 12. And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

  42. Hechos 16:40
“Entonces, saliendo de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia, y habiendo visto a los hermanos, los consolaron, y se fueron”

    * “Y habiendo visto a los hermanos, los consolaron” Solo después de esto accedieron a irse. Pablo y Silas no iban a ser presionados para salir del pueblo hasta haber concluido con su trabajo allí.

    * ” Los consolaron, y se fueron”

  43. “One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.”(‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭16:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

If we are willing to come to God as we are and surround ourselves then God will do his part if you let him for he has all power to do anything.
(Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬)“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

  44. 19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers

Some people want to use us just for their gain. They will only keep certain people around because it benefits them. When that bond is compromised then they’ll expect retribution.

The girl that taunted Paul day after day was possessed by evil spirits. Of course her actions were deliberate. Paul’s response was one we too should have. We try to be patient with people and hate the sin. Then he cast those spirits out of her. This is one of the accounts where the person was not welcoming the act of being delivered. Paul did it because he was tired of hearing her mocking mouth. Like an annoying fly we squish.

This proves that some people don’t want to be saved. Others don’t want their people to long for freedom. They enjoy slavery. Disrupting this balance caused the commotion that lead to Paul’s capture and jailbreak. What one person didn’t appreciate the other did. The jailer and his family were baptized and received the gift gladly. We serve God to serve others.

  45. Midnight, the middle of the period between sunset and sunrise..
Lydia the seller of purple was in the middle, she already worshipped God BUT there’s more!!!

    Acts 16:14 KJV
[14] And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us : whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
Strong’s Greek 3317: Midnight, the middle of the period between sunset and sunrise.

♥️ This is what getting the Holy Ghost feels like
Acts 16:26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

  46. 14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

God will open the heart of the people, but we as messengers must be ready to tell them about Jesus. This is why it’s so important to build a strong relationship with God. When it’s your time to be a witness, you will be ready. Our strength comes from God and the closer we get to him the stronger we become.

  47. They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape. So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks. Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
    Acts 16:23‭-‬26 NLT

Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above their troubles and enter into God’s presence and power. Through praise and worship their hearts were raised into the presence of God, and provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances.

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is more than a reaction of coming into His presence… praise to God is a vehicle of faith which takes us into His presence and power! Praise and worship is the gateway which allows us to enter into the presence of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).

The key to getting out of our circumstance is praise. When we praise walls fall, chains break and the unexplainable happens. When we praise Him God has no choice but to bless us.

  48. 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Lord I pray for a great revival and harvest at the POFW in Jesus name

  49. “During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What are you dreaming about? Is it a career, a family, wealth, fame? Regardless of what it is, our fiat and for most important dream should be reaching those that are lost. Dreams and aspirations are great but we are all called to bring the gospel to those we come in contact with.

  50. I learned that Paul and them got captured then the casted a demon out of her then they escaped then Lydia let them eat with her and her siblings. If you help someone they will help you.

  51. I learned that the woman had posed with a demon and you should not be be mad at people for what they do

  52. After all that look what they did.

    Acts‬ ‭16:40‬

“And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.”
    ‭‭
All the trouble and torment that these guys just endured and they go and comfort the brethren. Some get caught up on how bad they have it and they can’t help anyone. The truth is we all go through crazy stuff but a real minister doesn’t think twice about reaching a hand out to help someone else no matter what he is going through in his own life. I saw a Man of God take a tumble down the stairs and knock himself on the head so hard it immediately started swelling. Then two seconds later a sinner walked straight up to him not knowing what just happened and the man of God smiled and completely acted like nothing happened and prayed for her. There is no time to slow down when the world around us needs Jesus. If we keep our eyes on the prize our troubles will always be nothing compared to what God is doing on our lives.

  53. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

In the middle of their problem their troubles they stopped to praise God and God delivered they and the others that was ther.
Our praise dose not just deliver us but others that are other us.

  54. 10 After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
25-26 Along about midnight, Paul and Silas were at prayer and singing a robust hymn to God. The other prisoners couldn’t believe their ears. Then, without warning, a huge earthquake! The jailhouse tottered, every door flew open, all the prisoners were loose.

When you’re under Gods favor spreading his word, He will guide your steps on where to go. His word is for everyone and that’s why at all times we must speak of his goodness. The power of unity in praise and prayer causes not only the heavens to shake but here on earth also. Even in the mist of what looks like no way out Paul and Silas continued to praise God for what he has done and what he’s gonna do. Instead of seeing yourself or others bound start praising and rejoicing your way loose and for what God is going to do.

  55. 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

I am so thankful for Revival at the POFW! Our place of worship is growing every day! Jesus I thank you for the men and women who do above and beyond to witness to souls and reach the lost!

This scripture lets me know I need to reach more people and give them the truth.

  56. 24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Being thrust into a prison and being shackled up was not on the agenda for the day. My favorite part of this how all of this went down and happened to them yet they were still not ashamed. They did not pray a little patty-cake prayer and a little “Jesus Loves Me”, they were heard. “. . . prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” And the prisoners heard them pray and sing. They were not ashamed to be who they were or to worship the one true God. We should not be of the ashamed or timid kind either. We should BE HEARD!!!!

  57. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

What a relationship Paul had that God would show him the prayers of others. It’s like God created a secret passage and allow Paul to walk into a persons personal prayer room. This is mind blowing to me. I wonder has someone somewhere in the world walked into my moment of prayer and God allowed then to meet my need.

We’ve heard stories how people have prayed then God sent someone to meet the need but where are the stories of visions of someone praying and then the person who had the vision becomes so moved that they allow God to use them to help.

  58. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

Paul has a vision to go to Macedonia to speak the word of God to the people. So after that Paul and Silas went the next day to go spread the word of God. When God wants to use you he will guide you through everything all you have to do is listen and obey. And no matter what we go through we shouldn’t stop praising and magnifying the Lord, for he is still working and fighting for you. Paul and Silas went through many obstacles but never stop praising the Lord. We must spread the word of God everyday showing how he saved us and how he can save them, and we must praise and worship the Lord everyday.

  59. “Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, their was Angelic Interception. The Jailer was about to commit suicide until Paul told them He was here and told them How To Be Saved In The Name Of Jesus

  60. 16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

The enemy will test your faithfulness to God day after day. Trying it’s hardest to make us fail before God and loose it all as he did. But we contain power to destroy all chains of the enemy through the Holy Ghost that lives within us and God’s word. So as we continue to live our lives during this times, and the enemy tries to speak against you remember Paul prayed and with authority cast out the enemy. Let’s stay fervently in prayer daily.

  61. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord

As we praise and seek him God in private he will reward us in public. As this passage went Paul and Silas were at there worst. With nothing else no where to go but to war in the spiritual. The same way they were praying and seeking God in the dead of night that’s what we should do. To be so hungry for the guidance and word of God that we’re willing to seek him in the dead of night. And even when things seem like they are going good something else might be coming up keep your faith on God and he will provide. Just by speaking the name of Jesus. Walls will come down the advisory will be stopped. He has given us that power to prevail over any hurt or any problem.

  62. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

We are His called people, He has chosen each of us by hand to work for His kingdom, and by preaching the gospel we are gathering more and more people that are called to His kingdom!

  63. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:9–10

Here we read that Paul literally brought Christianity to Europe, and then Europeans brought the gospel to the New World. And today the United States sends more missionaries out into the world than any other nation. God is calling us to do the same…..But truly the lesson here is to keep going and the Holy Spirit will always be faithful to show show us where. It had been an extremely long journey from Antioch to Troas, and God dramatically changed the course of human history in these two verses. I believe God want to change the course of human history again through us!!

  64. 1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
As parents it is so important for us to have influence in our Kid’s. It depends on us if they serve Jesus or they stray away from Him. We must be careful on what kind of influence we are having, with our Kid’s.

  65. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Can your praise be heard? Something that stood out to me is that the prisoners heard them. Now it doesn’t mention that Paul and Silas were prisoners and in fact they were. Yet it does make an emphasis on what they began to do while in bonds. Your state maybe that of a prison but in the middle of a prison God can break out a miracle that not only will deliver you but the around you. One of the most powerful tools of witness is your praise in the the middle of the Chaos. It is something so out of the norm something that mindblowing that people realize that it is not your strength working within but some greater power. That supernatural power to endure and still keep your head up and most importantly still praise with joy the God of your salvation. That is not heard or seen by common people becuase what they would do is complain or say how bad it is or perhaps cry and give up hope. But one who has put us hope in God acts differently. There is still a joy eminating from within there is still a peace in the middle of the storm and still a trust in the middle of darkness. No fear but trust. Perfect love casts out fear but further more it is the revelation that casts out fear. The revelation or unveiling of who Jesus really is to you. When you finally get to Know him and attain that revelation then you understand that you are held up in His perfect love. So becuase you know Him and know you can trust in Him then your praise will be louder and them whom dont understand what’s going on or how you can still praise in your darkest hour is becuase you have gotten to know, or obtained the revelation of whom your God is and that He is for you.
Can your praise be heard? It may just be that you have to get to know your God and for sure you’ll get to singing a little louder, you get to shouting a little stronger, and you’ll get to roaring a little mightier in praise.
The words of Paul… Oh that I may Know HIM…

  66. 6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

These scriptures show the importance of having a daily prayer life with God. In prayer the Lord directs us on where to go. Without a daily connection with God, we step out of His will and head towards wilderness and tribulation.

  67. 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

It is wonderful how quickly the word of God can work inside of someone, that by just one preaching, a man and his household will completely submit to the word of God. I am ashamed at times at how long it took me to turn from my sinful life, I was so stubborn, but God was patient, he knew exactly what it would take and how long it would take for me to finally open my heart, my soul, my mind, my eyes, and my ears. I wasted so much time sinning, and I hope and pray that I may bring forth lost sheep back to the master. he has put inside of me a peace, that I love to share, and speak of to those that may also be thirsting for a better life, a purposeful journey. I read the Bible, and story after story, I read how even the greatest men of all time, struggled, and it is through these tales that I can relate, I understand, that Jesus took all of our sins, he is amazing, and I’m thankful to be his servant. Hallelujah Jesus, I humbly thank you for everything for you are the only true God, the Alpha, the Omega, the truth, the light. Praise to you dear Lord.

  68. 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

It was always strange to me that this woman is even mentioned because of how many people were healed by the work of the apóstoles.

Little things like this that seem to be like every other, change your course and are out there with the intention to give you direction.

Out of this miracle, they were beaten accused and jailed. In most people’s eyes, that’s just bad. What is there in that?

But what we Christians know that the world forgets, is that our God and turn what was meant for evil, into good.

Because I’m sure that the jailer was not the only one saved that day!

    • And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed. Paul and friends were doing God’s work and even jail could not stop them. Let us become that faithful in Jesus name.

  69. Paul stands up for himself but never let the sword down, once people feel threatened when truth is out they don’t like it just like what happened here. Paul continues to shine for the Lord no matter how people feel threatened by him. Sin will always find you out seek God and trust him always. Don’t let people who have punished you for doing the work of God pull you away instead be that vessel God wants you to be.

  70. “so Paul wanted him to join them on their journey. In deference to the Jews of the area, he arranged for Timothy to be circumcised before they left, for everyone knew that his father was a Greek. Then they went from town to town, instructing the believers to follow the decisions made by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew larger every day.”

When the church is sharing the word of God and causes people to grow and unite as one body and church through His words.

  71. “And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord
    ‭‭
So many times we say we don’t want others to judge us, or stop judging me. Here in this case she knew she was being judged. She even allowed for them to judge her to her face. Final judgement is left to God, but this really is requesting that people judge her fruit. People do this everyday regardless if we want them to or not. The Bible tells us to judge the fruit. She is asking for them to let her know the result of their judgement.

Was she faithful, prayerful, kind, seeking to help others, patient, generous, and the list goes on and on…

Then after they judged her, her reward be being judged favorably is to serve. Serving is not a punishment. If you really love people, you won’t mind serving.

  72. 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Despite of what just had happened to them. They worshipped the all Mighty. No matter what they were going through they had peace in themselves and nothing was going to change that. When you set your mind of what He had called you to do, no matter what comes your way or what may “seem bad” it’s Gods plan.

  73. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

In the midst of their turmoil, God still used them to see a soul saved. You never know what might happen in the midst of your trial, don’t tune God out, but stay alert and ready to lead the lost to Christ!
