Acts 11

And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

10 And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11 And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

  1. And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

  2. So In Acts Chapter 11 verses 15-19 are telling me is that the Holy Ghost remembered that John should be baptized with water and the Holy Ghost then God Said who believes in Christ Jesus and who can withstand Jesus then God held Peace and then he glorified it and then the Gentiles put Repentance on life then in the last verse Stephan Traveled Abroad Preaching the Bible to the Jews only

  3. 17. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

    18. When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

    Acts 2:39
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to ALL that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

  4. Thank you Jesus Christ for today , thy kingdom come thy will be done . We have to be honest with our selves

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
    Colossians 3:12‭-‬17

“This is my conclusion,” says the Teacher. “I discovered this after looking at the matter from every possible angle. Though I have searched repeatedly, I have not found what I was looking for. Only one out of a thousand men is virtuous, but not one woman! But I did find this: God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path.”
    Ecclesiastes 7:27‭-‬29

God is the only true judge

  5. Praise God for Salvation came to the gentiles!!!! That’s us!!!! Although my mothers maiden name is Jew, I still count as a gentile!!!! Thank you Jesus for allowing that what some Jews refuse to be given to the gentiles. Matthew 15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
For like her I prefer to be a dog and eat the crumbs as long as I am in your presence Lord. We weren’t the first but may be that’s why we will serve you most fervently!!! Because we weren’t included in the lineage but adopted and drafted into His vine. Thank you Jesus for saving me!!! Thank you Jesus for when we were too far gone you still call us, you still reached for us, you still forgave us as far as the East is from the west, all our sins cast into the sea of forgiveness!!! Hallelujah!!! Just in that alone should be reason enough to be Shouting Praises to God all day long!!! Hallelujah!!!

  6. We should look upon our reading today as spirit filled. Miracles, signs and wonders shall follow those who walk, talk and give Jesus.

  7. 1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

The one thing that we must be concerned with while living for God is the concern of the lost. We have not worry about whether they are rich or poor, healthy or sick, what type of background that they come from. We have to be concerned whether or not they want to be set free from the sin that has them bound. Jesus is about people and if we say we love him we have to love those that he died for. We must never be judgmental toward any soul that wants to hear the gospel and those that choose to not hear. Then we have to shake the dust off and move on. One of the greatest fears among Christians is the fear of rejection. As long as we plant the seed and we do what God has asked us to do then nothing matters except the word of God and the love for people.

No matter what others say about your love for the lost. We have to be determined to push past the nay-sayers and non-believers. We have to live Jesus in order to be able to give the world Jesus. We have to passion and boldness to stand for the kingdom even if we are the only ones.

  8. How faith, hope and love were displayed in this chapter by Peter, the man who sent for Peter, the men from Cyprus and Cyrene who had come to Antioch, Barnabas, Saul, Agabus and the disciples. They all obeyed and did not keep this good news for themselves; but, wanted to share it with whoever they could regardless of the ethnicity or language. They did what they were called to do. Living right, doing right….sound familiar?? So let us LIVE-GIVE Jesus with virtue!

Philippians 4:8 KJV “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

  9. Acts 11
17 So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

The same gift ! God wants to our out His Spirit on everyone. He is pouring out His Spirit . The baptism of the Holy Ghost is being poured out throughout this city and upon individuals coming from every walk of life. We must be willing to love and lead those seeking for more from God. Our own agendas are going to be altered and if we are willing God is going to lead us to those searching and not only lead us but begin to bring many into the church wanting the truth
Who can stand in God’s way?
Many walks of life . A wonderful potpourri of people.
To every nation to each individual God is wanting to pour out His Spirit upon !

  10. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

This term, Christian, was coined as a way of identifying people who preach the gospel and live like Christ. It was not a medal of honor that people wore and call themselves. We are identified by our lifestyle and our daily activity not by who we claim to be. It is through faith that we live out our belief system. How we choose to live our life will determine the steps that we take every single day oh, and people are watching what we do. They are Watching how we respond to situations, how we speak and our mannerisms. Do you call yourself a Christian or do people call you a Christian based on how you live?

  11. Acts 11:15-18 KJV
“ And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”

What a merciful God we serve! Thank God that he sent the disciples abroad to spread the Gospel when every race and nationality!!!

  12. Acts 11:13-15 & 19-21 (NLT)
    13) He told us how an angel had appeared to him in his home and had told him, Send messengers to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter.
    14) He will tell you how you and everyone in your household can be saved!
    15) As I began to speak, Peter continued, The Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.

    19) Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews.
    20) However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus.
    21) The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord.

It’s not only the responsibility of the Preacher to share the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others, BUT as a Believer, it’s our responsibility too.
Let’s WORK together, so that we may see a Large Number (of Fort Worth residence and the regions around about us) of people believe and turn to the Lord and be saved.
Remember: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,…” (2 Cor. 5:20)

    LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS

  13. 2But when Peter arrived back in Jerusalem, the Jewish believersb criticized him. 3“You entered the home of Gentilesc and even ate with them!” they said.

Some believers couldn’t believe Peter would eat with the Gentiles. The Word is for everyone. It’s like the Jews wanted to keep the Word for themselves and not to share it. But we are to spread the Word for all to hear.

  14. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus

Act 11:3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

Leaders aren’t always going to do things we agree with. I’m sure these fellers here thought Peter was backslid. They probably heard roasters crowing in the back ground. They were probably expecting Peter to cuss them out. They were probably looking for ear pieces in ole Peter’s pocket. They were probably expecting Peter to go on a deep sea fishing expedition in the middle of him turning his back on the faith. But something else happened, they listened to Peter’s defense before they cast their stones of judgement. We too should ask questions of leaders instead of immediatly casting stones.

  15. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    HOLDING ON TO JESUS

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

In the human quest to “hold on to” GOD as some would say, has become challenging in these last days. In mans frail attempt to hold on to GOD with one hand and the world with the other hand, the human capacity is stretched. We learn here from Barnabas some characteristics of HOLDING ON TO JESUS or “cleave to the LORD”.

    1. He identified GRACE
    2. He was GLAD
    3. He exhorted or spoke of the the Grace of GOD
    4. He purposed his heart or was COMMITTED
    5. He was a GOOD man
    6. He was FULL of the Holy Ghost
    7. He was FULL of FAITH

These 7 characteristics generated revival and “MUCH” people was added unto the LORD.

Yea I say today this prophetic harvest will happen at The POFW. I pray we commit ourselves to these 7 identifiable and attainable characteristics will be in us today and we will Impact Fort Worth. In JESUS Name.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  16. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Our salvation today is exactly the same as in the word of God for both the Jewish disciples and the gentiles. It is a privilege to be grafted onto the true vine and be a child of God. It is for whomsoever will!

  17. ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:24, 26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

This is where the word Christian began. It started with on of the Apostles who had these distinct qualities.

    1. He was apostolic
    2. He was a good man
    3. Full of the Holy Ghost
    4. Full of Faith

    The result:
Much people were added to the church

This is a Christian. Can we really be considered to be a Christian along with those who were first called by that title if we are not displaying these same attributes or getting the same kind of results? If people are not being added to the church, we need to look back at the 4 attributes listed in this scripture and examine our lives by each one of them. From the very beginning and essence of being a Christian there were many added to the church as a result. Let us go back to the basics if we need to. But people have to be added to the church.

  18. 11:21. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
    —-
And the hand of the Lord was with him….
I want Gods hand to be with me in everything I do.
Not my will Lord, but yours.
    🙏.

  19. “So, if God gave Gentiles the same gift [equally] as He gave us after we accepted and believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ [as Savior], who was I to interfere or stand in God’s way?” When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified and praised God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance that leads to eternal life [that is, real life after earthly death].””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:17-18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Thank you Jesus!! As the Bible says ‘for there is no respect of persons with GOD.’ As long as there is breath within our lungs there is a hope of eternal life. He is the author and finisher of our faith. There is nothing else to seek after. And I am hoping that my dad will have life, receive life, as well.
    In Jesus name❤️

  20. 11:21 and the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
    ——
Yes, I want Gods hand to guide me, to be with me in everything I do. Not my will, but yours Lord.
    🙏😃.

  21. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

  22. 12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting.(…)

I love when the unction of the Holy Ghost is so strong there is no doubt in your mind of what the Lord wants you to do.

I pray a sensitivity over the body of Christ, that we would feel the Lord’s direction so strongly that there would be no doubting! In Jesus name!!

  23. “And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:15-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/114/act.11.15-17.nkjv

The gift of the Holy Spirit is given to all who believe.

  24. 2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

Its the virtue in ourselves that gives us the ability to reach out to those who are not saved. The compassion that comes from being humble and kind. The ability to forgive one another for our faults and look past those faults to lead someone to salvation.

  25. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Thank You Jesus for the privilege to know Your Name and Your truth! No one is exempt from His promises and we should never try to judge such a matter – there is room in the house of God for EVERYBODY!!

  26. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

It’s a beautiful thing when the holy ghost falls on you. It’s an experience like no other. The Holy Ghost will make you act right, talk right and live right. This Holy Ghost must be told to everyone, so that they might know the power of God.

  27. In this chapter Peter was telling everyone about Jesus. Peter told them his dream and it went like this…. “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.

We as a church should take our past experiences, and share them with others so they don’t make the same mistake. FOLLOW GOD POFW!!!😁😁😁

  28. And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
They all received the word of god

  29. God came to Peter in a vision. God asked Peter to do something and Peter that it was not common. God told him everything was fine. Always listen to God, he has the right answer.

  30. MSG – 19-21 Those who had been scattered by the persecution triggered by Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, but they were still only speaking and dealing with their fellow Jews. Then some of the men from Cyprus and Cyrene who had come to Antioch started talking to Greeks, giving them the Message of the Master Jesus. God was pleased with what they were doing and put his stamp of approval on it—quite a number of the Greeks believed and turned to the Master.

22-24 When the church in Jerusalem got wind of this, they sent Barnabas to Antioch to check on things. As soon as he arrived, he saw that God was behind and in it all. He threw himself in with them, got behind them, urging them to stay with it the rest of their lives. He was a good man that way, enthusiastic and confident in the Holy Spirit’s ways. The community grew large and strong in the Master.

All it takes is one “spark” to set something on fire. These men were filled with the fire of the Holy Ghost and they were not intimidated in the least. They were willing to allow the sparks to fly with whomever they were speaking with.

First we must have the fire to give the fire. You can’t start a fire with the ingredients to produce a fire. You must have wood or kindlin of some type and you must have friction of some sort or a match, both will work.

We want all to know the good news of the gospel, so we all must go share the good news.

  31. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

We must always remember that it is through the Holy Ghost and through the name of Jesus that we must be save, and it’s also through the Holy Ghost that we are given power to to speak things in faith and watch them come to pass.

  32. Acts 11:17 [ amp] If then Fod gave to them the same Gift ( equally ] as He gave to us when we believed in ( adhered to , trusted in, and relied on) the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I and what power or authority had I to interfere or hinder or forbid or withstand God?
There’s nothing else to stand on is the Word of God! Eat your Bible! Keep wood on that fire burning in Jesus name.

  33. “Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?” When the others heard this, they stopped objecting and began praising God. They said, “We can see that God has also given the Gentiles the privilege of repenting of their sins and receiving eternal life.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:16-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Peter recognized the importance of sensing where God is going and heading that same direction, instead of trying to persuade God to go your direction.
It is a glorious thing when God’s people will allow their prejudices and traditions to be overcome by God’s Word and God’s work.

  34. “The Holy Spirit told me to go with them and not to worry that they were Gentiles. These six brothers here accompanied me, and we soon entered the home of the man who had sent for us.(‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

When Peter heard the voice of God he obeyed. He didn’t talk back instead he stood on what the Holy Spirit told him to do. Whatever God tells us to do we must be obedient and trust the Lord just like Peter. God will not lead us wrong for his plans are higher he knows what best for his people.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
    (‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

  35. Col. 3:12–17

I feel this scripture is encompassing how Virtue is almost the totality of Spiritual attributes. To be Virtuous takes on a lot of meanings but it to myself means to hold to a set of beliefs or vows or urgency that is set in place when a decision is made. Whether spiritual, emotional, physical. To be virtuous is about ministry and relationships. It is more than morals but the core of us all. Whether we struggle with virtue or we embrace it completely truly makes no difference for what is inside of us needs to be lead by God and His spirit. If we make decisions based upon virtue then we can be more of who God has us to be.

  37. Acts of the Apostles 11:9
[9]“But the voice from heaven spoke again: ‘Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.’
Turn away from the carnal and the flesh. God can cleanse you

  38. “Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:17, 29-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What we have is not just for ourselves. Our salvation, our testimony, our finances – they are all tools that can be used to be a witness. God revealed to Peter that repentance was not only for the Jews but the Gentiles as well. When it was prophesied that there would be a famine throughout the world, the disciples gave what they could to help. When there was a need, Barnabas and Saul were sent out. We should always have a constant flow of giving and receiving in our life. When we receive a Word from God, we should share it with others, not to boast of what God has shown us but to help them in their walk with God. As we receive blessings, we should always remember to pay our tithes and offering. When we see someone struggling, whether physically or spiritually, we should intercede – help them carry a box to their car or pray for them.

I thank God for being The Provider, for He always gives more than enough! I pray as we give and receive we do it with love. As the scripture says, If we give and don’t have love, it does us no good (1 Cor. 13:3)

  39. Because the food/situation/war was of God it’s no ordinary.

Acts 11:7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

♥️ Acts 11:9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Acts 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

    Matthew 8:2-3 KJV
[2] And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. [3] And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

1 Chronicles 5:20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

1 Chronicles 5:22 For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

  40. 23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

When we see the goodness of the Lord we will desire to bring people and turn them into a living vessel of Lord.

  41. 27. And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. 28, And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout al the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.. 29. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: 30. Which also they did , and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

  42. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

This is a significant moment for the church. Antioch was the first place disciples of Jesus were called Christians. To be like Christ is their desire and what fuels them in their walk with the Lord. We can use this moment to recall where God has brought us out of and where He is leading us. Where were we when God pulled us out of the pit? They assembled and taught for a whole year before every being called Christians. I believe it’s because Jesus was a teacher. His life and death taught us more than any degree could ever give. When they reached that level it was evident to them. It want a name God have them but something they used to identify themselves as a group of people. The name of Jesus applied to our lives gives us something to strive for.

  43. v17 Forasmuch then as Gud gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

God jolted Peter into understanding and obedience.
HE has a way of getting our attention.
He is” not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance “.2 Peter 3:9

  44. Acts 11:15
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them as in us as in the beginning.

The Lord said John was baptized with water, but you should be baptized with the Holy Spirit. This is what should happen to everyone! We all should try to bring as many people to our Lord as possible.

  45. Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch . . . For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. Acts 11:22,24
Barnabas had a ministry of bringing people together, he was an encourager. He was a good man of faith. Having this biblical faith is a recognition that God has promised something, and since He is God we believe Him and act on that basis. That’s what men and women of faith who get something done do.We truly need to be more like Barnabas and less like the Pharisees!!….Dear Lord You have promised to never leave us, so help us as we walk through this life, giving us an open, graceful and faithful attitude.

  46. 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

What I love about this scripture is that God chose to allow everyone the chance to repent and seek after him. For up until this point, it seemed that only the Israelites could follow the one true God. This changed everything, and once again God was available to everyone. This was amazing, for now, anyone could seek the Lord, all they had to do was to follow, the words and teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a glorious thing, to be able to choose to be a servant to the almighty creator. Hallelujahs to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the most high King.

  47. And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

    Salvation is for everyone.
We don’t get to choose who gets saved and who don’t.
God may do something we never heard of before but it does not make it wrong.
The apostles never heard of gentiles receiving salvation but God was doing a new thing.
When God opens new doors walk through reach for the people and watch what he will do.

  48. God taught the good news in parables. Teachers are a vessel that God uses to teach people about the word of God. It’s Unfortunate that not everyone believes in God.

Here there is mention of Christians who believe in Christ but there’s doubt in people’s hearts of who God is.

  49. 18 Hearing it all laid out like that, they quieted down. And then, as it sank in, they started praising God. “It’s really happened! God has broken through to the other nations, opened them up to Life!”

God is for everyone! Let us spread his greatness to all and his life overflow in us. When they hear and see us let them see God!

    • 1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

      • We just need to continue sharing this word and testifying about the miracles signs and wonders that were still seeing during all of this.

  50. 24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

You know it’s amazing to meet a old fashion “good person” that brings a smile to everyone’s face and has great integrity. Yet that is not enough to get them into heaven they must be filled with the Holy Ghost and Faith. We are here to advance to kingdom and this is how we expand the kingdom. Yet we should never forget that being a “good person” a kind person a loving person is also important.

  51. Acts 11:22-24 The news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encourage them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Barnabas was a servant here, he initiated and did whatever it took to raise morale, man, or money. He led with clarity and by example by becoming a servant. He consider ed no task too small.

Let’s serve in the kingdom, not be served. Let’s rejoice with other’s victories.
Be full of the Holy Ghost and see many souls added to the Lord.

  52. ““As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning. Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These Scriptures means that, Peter is talking about Salvation. Repenting and being Baptized In The Name Of Jesus and ye shall receive The Gift Of The Holy Ghost.

  53. 19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

Sometimes we need to find the good from the bad that is happening. The letter to the book of Roman’s tells us that all things work together for good to them that love God. We may see that persecution is not a good thing, and in fact it’s not. Yet God can use it for good. It made the message spread further that what human comfort might have gone. What was intended to kill the message only ended up spreading it like wildfire. We must pay attention to what God does when the enemy tries to shut up the church. His message is about to go greater!!!

  54. 22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

Even they tithed back then what makes us not tithe

  55. “So, if God gave Gentiles the same gift [equally] as He gave us after we accepted and believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ [as Savior], who was I to interfere or stand in God’s way?””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

If he did it before he can do it again . Never underestimate gods power. The same thing god did for you he can do for yourself family, loved one, your neighbor, you enemy, or even someone you have just met. God does not have limitations. We are the ones that limits things. God does not. We have to never loose faith and continue to believe that anything is possible through god if we believe.

“Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!””
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  56. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

They heard and saw that the Lord gave the Gentiles a chance to repent and to be forgiven of their sins and be renewed in the Lord, they all followed and did the same. When we spread the word of God there will be some of those who won’t want to listen or believe, but in that group there will be some that are willing to be renewed and forgiven. I pray that the Lord will use each and every one of us to spread and speak his word, help saving those who are willing and are faithful.

  57. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. (Acts 11:21-23, 26 KJV)

World Changers – it all started by sharing “IT” ( the Word of God)
You can never take others anywhere you haven’t been. You need a prayer life and study life. Our lives should point to Calvary. Lead yourself to the cross.

There are 3 principals that will help us attain:
“High Potency”- I must give my all.
“Close Proximity”- Are you part of the problems or part of the solution?
    “Clearly Communicating”

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV)

  58. And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?”
    Acts 11:17 NLT

Just as Christ gave His son not just for a certain race but for the salvation of the whole world. We must continue to share His Word and message of salvation not just to our own but to everyone we encounter.

  59. “He will tell you how you and everyone in your household can be saved!’ “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:14-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Lord guides us to the path of righteousness. And as the prophetic word begins to move on us the Holy Spirit shall fall and filled us up until we overflow.

  60. “And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How are we supposed to gather new souls unless we go unto people who are different than us? In this case peter’s friends were shocked that Peter went to someone who was not like them. If we are filled with the Holy Ghost we have to realize that not everyone around us is. We then must realize that there will some like us and other people who are not like us everywhere. They may not even know if there be a Holy Ghost. We have to go, speak, reach, and gather them for Jesus. He loves people and souls more than we can imagine. We are his hands and feet. We have to go to those who might be like us, but also to the ones who may be different.

  61. 16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

17 So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

    Acts 11:16‭-‬18 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/act.11.16-18.NIV

Who are we to stop God? We shouldn’t stand against Him we should stand with Him. Let Him come into you and give you the gift of the holy Ghost to feel his presence, so that He can work in you and you can be saved. There is only one God only and will always be one God. We can only be saved if we are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and have received the gift if the Holy Ghost. We need to let Him in us so that we can be changed our lives can be changed and we can be saved.

    LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  62. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

And I’m so glad God allowed us to come into His Kingdom.

  63. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Barnabas found Saul and took him to Antioch. There they preached Jesus and that changed everything for all believers in Christ. For the first time they would be called Christians. Christ followers or believers in Christ. We must remember that Jesus called His followers Disciples.

  64. 17 So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” NIV

Not even Satan himself can stand in the way of God’s plan for you. He has your future set in stone. His gift for you cannot be taken away!

  65. 4 But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

    Focus and Pay Attention!
Ive heard this numerous times in my life, as a child who couldn’t sit still in class, to an adult who struggles to stay tentative in a meeting.

Yet, we can see if Paul wasn’t aware of his surroundings and rehearsed in his testimony, he wouldn’t be ready to share with others.

We’ve seen throughout the Bible and in our own lives that things happen for a reason, and we should be prepared to be able to share the testimony of what God is doing in your life!

  66. 7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

How amazing this would have been to have been talked to by God. I feel as though if I heard a voice telling me, “. . . Arise, Peter; slay and eat. . . “ I wouldn’t be talking back or rebutting. I wouldn’t have anything to say back, but “Yes, Sir!” And then I would obviously slay and eat!! Whether nothing common or unclean had entered my mouth or not!

  67. 9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

When we are baptized in Jesus name we become clean! As God showed this vision 3 times to Peter. We too must understand that those who are around God can cleanse and be used for His kingdom. We must not see them as common people but as people that God can cleanse, restore and lead.
